As the alarm blared in the Prehistoric Earth vet offices, Linda Eberhart screamed into her walkie-talkie, "Drew, where are you? The alarms don't choose to go off; there must be some kind of escape!" There was no response. Linda rolled her eyes, typical. Didn't he realise that this was important? Her patients, including Zira, the mother T-rex, were sick or injured; if some predator got in the vet offices, there would be a massacre. She was currently standing in the indoor rehab pens; Cirrus was its only current resident. She tried again, "I have patients in here and I need to know whether to put the vet offices on lockdown! Drew-"

Suddenly, Jack's voice chimed in through the radio, "Linda, where are you?" She responded, "Jack, what's going on? I'm in the rehab section, I need to know whether to put them on lockdown." Jack's voice crackled over, "There was a containment failure; some of the carnivores have escaped. We've got most of them, but the Velociraptors are headed right to your location. Put the vet offices on lockdown, just in case, and wait till we get here." Linda pushed the lockdown button and the exterior doors were locked shut; nothing could get in, nothing could get out. "Alright, the building's locked down." There was a pause, and Jack's voice crackled back in reply, "Oh. Crap. Maybe you shouldn't have done that." Before Linda could ask why, her train of thought was interrupted by a hiss, as Jack's voice said, sheepishly, "As to why, Doc… maybe you should look behind you." Linda turned to look as two Velociraptors walked into the rehabilitation suite, sniffing the air. Suddenly, one of the raptors sniffed the air and looked directly at her, hissing. The two dromaeosaurs advanced towards her remorselessly, forcing her to walk backwards, eventually backing her up against a wall. Teeth and claws drawn, they readied to pounce…

Suddenly, something slammed into one Velociraptor, sending it flying into the other. Linda turned to see Cirrus slowly walk towards her. The giant pterosaur stood in front of Linda, protectively, and loomed over the two raptors. One hissed at him, to which he squawked at it in response. The raptor replied by diving for his leg; however, Cirrus kicked it, sending it flying. The second dived towards him, but, with one blow of his head, he sent it flying into a table. The two Velociraptors, defeated, limped off and Cirrus turned to Linda, as if seeing if she was OK. Linda smiled and said, "I'm alright, big guy". Linda calmly pressed the button deactivating the lockdown, before watching as Cirrus ambled back into his rehabilitation pen. Before closing it, Linda went to follow the Velociraptors; the team outside might need her help.

Meanwhile, the Jeep containing Jack, Collete, Kyle and Nikolai pulled up outside the vet offices to find the doors whirr open from lockdown. As this happened, two Velociraptors tore out as fast as their legs could carry them, before darting away into the gloom. The team looked at each other, confused, as, about two minutes later, Linda emerged from the building. Jack turned to her and said, "Doc! Thank God, you're OK. What happened?" Linda smiled, "Two of them got in, but Cirrus made them wish they didn't." Suddenly, the conversation was interrupted by a loud, reverberating call; a Velociraptor call. The humans backed up against each other as the calls echoed all around them and shapes darted through the gloom.

Suddenly, the whole Velociraptor pack burst out from several different angles, surrounding them. The raptors circled them, snarling, as if deciding whether or not to attack. Kyle turned to the team, "No sudden movements, until I give the signal…" After a while, he turned to Collete and nodded. Collete nodded in reply and slowly lifted her tranq gun towards the nearest raptor. There was a brief moment's hesitation, before she fired, hitting the raptor in the chest. The rest of the pack scattered, whilst the raptor Collete had hit loped forward, as if in a drunken stupor, before collapsing. With the raptors now reeling from the surprise attack, Kyle yelled, "Hurry! Pick them off before they get away!"

In response, Jack shot at a raptor that was running past him… totally missing it. Nearby, Nikolai raised his tranq rifle and, in the blink of an eye, managed to tranquillise a raptor that ran past him with a single shot. Looking at him, Kyle lifted his tranq gun and darted a raptor near the wall outside the quarantine pens, which collapsed to the floor. Collete lifted her tranq rifle and darted the raptor Jack had missed. That left two.

Looking at what was going on, Jack raised his tranq gun again at the nearest standing raptor, at point-blank range, and fired… totally missing the raptor again and nearly hitting Collete. Linda walked up to Jack and grabbed his tranq gun, "Give me that before you hurt someone!" Taking Jack's tranq gun, Linda fired at the raptor Jack had missed, hitting it successfully. The raptor walked a few steps and collapsed. The last raptor, realising himself outnumbered, sprinted off. Watching the escaping dromaeosaur, Collete said, "What's the plan?" Nikolai turned to look at a security motorcycle parked outside, "I'll go after him; I'll take the security bike and track him down myself. Jack, you're with me. The rest of you, get these raptors crated." Jack looked at him, perplexed, "Me? Why would you need me?" Nikolai said, "Hopefully, I won't."

Two minutes later, Jack and Nikolai were riding on the motorcycle, following the raptor's tracks. Eventually, they followed it to a clearing. Jack turned to look at Nikolai and asked, quietly, "Where is it. I thought it was right-". As he said this, the raptor burst out of the foliage and dived in front of them, teeth and claws bared.

Pushing Jack behind him, Nikolai took the raptor head-on, whacking it on the snout to disorient it and grabbing it in a headlock. The raptor struggled in his grip, trying to get free, whilst he struggled to hold on to its thrashing form. Eventually, he could no longer hold on to the raptor and it struggled free. The raptor hissed indignantly and turned to stare him down, scratching the ground like a fighting cock. It tensed its body and hissed at him, getting ready to strike…

Suddenly, a dart flew through the air and hit the raptor in the chest. The raptor hissed at this brief, sudden pain and continued to advance towards Nikolai before, suddenly, its breathing and movements became laboured, as if in a drunken stupor, before, eventually, it collapsed. Nikolai turned to see a smiling Jack holding his tranq gun. Nikolai, open mouthed, said, "How…" Jack said, smugly, "I missed two raptors, Nikolai. I wasn't going to miss the third."

With the unconscious raptor draped over the back of the motorbike, Jack and Nikolai raced back to the vet offices, where the others had put the other five raptors in crates. Putting the last raptor in an unoccupied crate, Nikolai lifted his communicator to his mouth and said, "All Velociraptors are contained and accounted for; Raptor Territory and the area around the vet offices is clear. We need updates from you, komandir."

Suddenly, they heard the sound of branches creaking and breaking; some giant creature was moving near to them. Pretty much everyone present reached for their guns. After a few minutes, an enormous, scarred Tyrannosaurus rex walked past them, moving so quietly it was practically invisible against the night. Kyle, Nikolai, Linda, Jack and Collete all looked at each other; they all knew who this was. Sharptooth was still at large.

Suddenly, Drew's voice crackled in, "Glad to see all the raptors are accounted for; we've cleaned things up in Theropod Kingdom and the only big loose end is…" Jack said, "Let me guess, Sharptooth?" Drew's voice crackled over, confused, "How did you know?" Nikolai replied with, "He walked past us, komandir."

There was a pause, before Drew's voice crackled through the walkie-talkie, "Linda, go back to the vet offices and stay with your patients. They're probably going to need you. The rest of you, come to my co-ordinates. I've got a plan… and it's a cracker."
