Drew, Leon, Cynthia, Adrian (accompanied by Keehar), Alice, Jack, Collete, Kyle and Nikolai were all standing in a large fenced area; there was only one entrance, over which two Jeeps stood guard. Drew turned to Leon, Cynthia, Jack, Alice, Adrian, Kyle and Nikolai and said, "Alright, here's the plan." He gestured to Leon, "Leon, Cynthia and I will use the allosaur squad to herd Sharptooth into this capture zone. When we get there, Alice and Adrian will pen him in with the Jeeps, allowing Nikolai to tranquillise him." Everyone nodded at this summation; Drew smiled and said, "Alright, let's finish this up."
In the Jeep, Drew, Leon and Cynthia drove through the forest where Sharptooth was last seen, with Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion running alongside them. They reached a clearing in the forest, and the allosaurs slowed down, lowering their heads to the ground. Drew turned to Leon quietly, "They've found something." Leon nodded, "I know." Standing in the clearing, about 200 metres away, was Sharptooth's unmistakeable form.
Leon whistled quietly to Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion, who tensed, awaiting the order from their alpha. Leon raised his hand, making sure that all three of the theropods could see him, and lowered it, before saying "Get it". Sharptooth only had time for a single growl of outrage as the Allosaurus ran into the clearing, splitting up and running in a circle around the larger theropod, blocking off his retreat.
The Allosaurus had the larger theropod surrounded. Suddenly, Sharptooth lashed out at Viserion, who nimbly jumped back and dodged his blows. Whilst the larger theropod was distracted, Rhaegal darted out and snapped at his feet. They repeated this process for half an hour; every time they did it, Sharptooth moved a little further forward, out of the clearing. Sharptooth growled in indignation, and ran off. The Allosaurus followed him, snapping at his heels like sheepdogs. Every time Sharptooth attempted to move in a certain direction, the allosaurs would block his path, steering him out of the clearing.
Then, suddenly, Rhaegal moved forward to snap at Sharptooth's heels and, the tyrannosaur, with a speed that belied his massive bulk, sent his massive head swinging into Rhaegal's chest, sending him flying to the ground. Getting to his feet, Rhaegal batted the larger theropod across the flank, leaving three long gashes.
Quickly recovering from the injury, Sharptooth roared indignantly, to which all three allosaurs roared in response. Diving forward, Viserion attempted to bite Sharptooth's thigh; Sharptooth dodged the blow and kicked Viserion in the mouth, knocking out some of his teeth. Sharptooth then lowered his head and headbutted a pouncing Rhaegal in his centre of gravity, sending the allosaur tumbling to the floor. Whilst he was doing this, Viserion sank his teeth into Sharptooth's tail, causing him to roar in pain. However, he managed to struggle free from the allosaur's teeth and, with a kick to the torso and a bite to the leg, sent Viserion flying to the ground, leaving him with three scars on his flank.
Both Rhaegal and Viserion were down, leaving only Drogon. Drogon whilst outsized, dodged an attempted bite, and lunged for Sharptooth's leg, preparing to bite him. However, Sharptooth anticipated the ambush and kicked him in the chest, before headbutting him in the flank, sending him flying to the ground. All three allosaurs got up, wounded but unbowed, and hissed defiantly at Sharptooth, who roared in response.
Leon realised that the fight was rapidly turning in Sharptooth's favour; they were holding back and he wasn't. It was either call them back or see one or all of them killed. He raised his hand and whistled; the three allosaurs turned to look at him. Leon sighed and said, "Back." The allosaurs, backed off and returned to his side. Sharptooth hissed and disappeared into the forest. Drew turned to Leon and Cynthia and said, "Send a message to the capture team telling them the allos are down and Sharptooth's coming to them a different way." Leon raised his eyebrow and asked, "Drew? Where are you going?" Drew turned to look at Leon and said, "To get help. We need bigger guns."
Meanwhile, in the capture zone, Kyle, Nikolai, Jack and Collete sat, waiting for their target to arrive. Suddenly, Leon's voice crackled from over the radio, "-the allos are do-". Jack grabbed the radio and said, "What's going on, Leon?" Leon's voice crackled, "-harptooth's coming-". Jack gave the radio a perplexed look and said, "Sharptooth's coming? When? What's happening-"
Suddenly, a low, deep growl, like an alligator, reverberated from behind them. Kyle, Nikolai, Jack and Collete, rigid with horror, turned around to see Sharptooth standing behind them. The four humans stood, rooted to the spot as the theropod before them scanned the area coldly. He looked an intimidating sight and, before it, all the humans felt as insignificant as mice. They began to slowly back away from the giant, in the hope that he wouldn't follow them. Suddenly, the tyrannosaur paused and sniffed the air, before turning its head to look at them. The theropod let out a low snarl, before turning towards them, regarding the four humans with a vicious coldness. Suddenly, with a speed that belied his massive bulk, he rammed the platform, attempting to knock them off, knocking Nikolai's tranq gun from his hand and onto the ground. Repeating this multiple times, he smashed more of the platform away, meaning that the four humans backed closer and closer to the ladder; eventually, the four humans were forced to flee down the ladder, as Sharptooth smashed the platform to bits.
Watching them go, Sharptooth then turned his attention to the Jeeps. The giant tyrannosaur charged the first Jeep, knocking it on its side, before continuing with the second. Once he had downed them both, he threw back his head and let out a triumphant roar; whilst he was distracted, Adrian, Alice and Keehar managed to bail out, running to Kyle, Nikolai, Jack and Collete. Sharptooth ignored them and returned his attention to attacking the Jeeps; kicking at their petrol tanks, he burst them, causing petrol to spill to the floor. A spark from the underside later, both of the Jeeps exploded in flame. Recoiling from the fire, Sharptooth turned to walk towards the humans, underlit by the fire like some ancient dragon. Hissing, he expanded his jaws, preparing to strike…
Suddenly, all creatures went rigid as they heard the revving of a motorcycle engine. Everyone turned to see a security motorcycle, with Drew on it, emerge from the smoke and tear past Sharptooth. Sharptooth, prey drive activated, tore off after the motorcycle. Drew turned to look at the giant tyrannosaur, running him a merry chase, with the huge theropod only just behind him. However, turning a corner, his luck ran out; Sharptooth managed to catch up, lowered his head and rammed the motorcycle, destroying it and sending Drew flying from his seat.
Flying through the air, Drew hit the ground hard; as he landed, he heard a sickening crunch and a pain in his left arm. He tried to move it and pain shot through his body. Yes, almost certainly broken. He turned to look at the giant theropod headed towards him. Sharptooth moved towards him slowly, but surely, regarding him with a vicious coldness. Suddenly, a loud roar froze him in his footsteps. Out of the smoke, Zira emerged, roaring at Sharptooth. Sharptooth turned to his opponent and roared in reply. The two circled each other, sizing their opponent up.
The brief standoff was interrupted when the two Tyrannosaurus charged at each other, head on. A violent shoving match ensued, with the two tyrannosaurs occasionally breaking off to snap at each other. This shoving match was interrupted when Zira charged towards Sharptooth, head lowered. Sharptooth let out a single hiss of outrage as Zira impacted in his side, knocking the wind out of him. He quickly recovered, however, and swung his massive head so it impacted into her flank. Zira snapped at his tail, missing merely by inches, to which Sharptooth replied by delivering a bite to her flank. Even with the low dawn light and the firelight of the two flaming Jeeps, Drew could see the fight was approximately equal; there was no way to tell who was going to win. Suddenly, a chirp sounded off from the darkness. Both tyrannosaurs turned their heads, along with the humans, to see a small shape dart from the darkness. It was Keehar, who was now bounding forward towards Sharptooth.
The Ramphorynchus vaulted into the air and flew a short distance onto the face of the larger T-rex before clawing, biting, scratching, and digging into vulnerable places, pressure points, and wounds. Sharptooth struggled to snatch the small pterosaur for a moment before turning to roar at the night sky. Whilst he was distracted, Zira attacked.
The Tyrannosaurus charged forward, head lowered. She used gravity and momentum to her advantage as she headbutted her rival in the flank, before swinging round and biting him in the thigh. Sharptooth struggled out with wounds on his leg before attempting to bite his opponent's neck. For several minutes, Zira and Keehar fought together; Keehar clawing at Sharptooth's face and distracting him from hits from the larger Zira, occasionally jumping onto her back for safety as the fight continued. The humans sat, watching, awe-inspired at this.
Watching the fight, Jack Denham turned to see Nikolai's tranq gun, lying only a few inches away from him. Silently, making sure not to anger the fighting theropods, he moved towards the gun, before picking it up. Looking at it, he found the scope was busted; even with the low dawn light, he was firing blind. He lifted it and pointed it at Sharptooth. It was all about finding the right moment…
Finally, after fifteen minutes of fighting, Sharptooth was momentarily distracted when Keehar clawed near his eye with his wing claws. The giant tyrannosaur let out an ear-piercing howl of agony, before, in order to dislodge the little pterosaur, slammed his head into a metal pole, successfully dislodging Keehar from his face. As the dust cleared, Keehar's form lay, crumpled on the ground. He didn't get up.
Zira took advantage of the temporary distraction by grabbing Sharptooth's neck, spinning him 180 degrees and headbutting him in his centre of gravity. In a daze, the larger tyrannosaur crashed to the ground. Sharptooth took a few minutes to recover. Before he could right himself, Zira walked up to him, secured his body with one massive, taloned foot and grabbed his neck in her jaws, holding on to him. Sharptooth struggled to free himself from the jaws of his rival, but her grip was strong. Eventually, she let go and took a few steps back. Sharptooth got to his feet and let out a loud roar, to which his enemy replied. Suddenly, both roars were cut off by a large, hooting bellow. Sharptooth went rigid in fear; he recognised the sound. Both tyrannosaurs turned to see Lightning come charging out from the smoke, illuminated by the light of sunrise.
Sharptooth cowered at the sauropod's entrance; he remembered being defeated by this creature the first time. He roared at the new arrival, in a vain attempt to scare it off. In response to this Lightning reared up on his hind legs and brought them down with such force that the ground around it shook, before emitting a bellow so loud it deafened everything around it. Sharptooth scanned the area; in particular, the two creatures bearing down on him. His strategic mind made him realise one thing; he would have to fight his way out.
However, as he stepped forward, his movements became slower and more disoriented, before, suddenly, he finally fell, unconscious, with Zira and Lightning staring in almost disbelief at what had just happened. Three tranquilliser darts stuck out of his back. A short distance away, Jack Denham smiled; despite the busted scope and his own lack of marksmanship skills, he'd managed to dart Sharptooth successfully. The disaster was over.
Zira and Lightning briefly looked, confused; why had their opponent so suddenly collapsed? Once content that he was not going to be getting up, she threw back her head and roared, as if proclaiming her victory to the rising sun. Lightning joined in in reply. The crescendo from their combined roars was added by an ululating squawk from Keehar. He had merely been knocked unconscious when Sharptooth had slammed him into the pole.
Once he was sure that Sharptooth was down, Lightning lowered his head, as if to check if Drew was OK. Drew sighed and said, "Yeah, I am, big guy." All three creatures turned to each other, regarding each other for a moment. Lightning looked at both Zira and Keehar, before giving an almost respectful nod and leaving back to his home territory. Watching him leave, the Tyrannosaurus turned her massive head to the Ramphorynchus and seemed to regard him for a moment. The giant theropod gave the small pterosaur a respectful nod, and Keehar replied in turn. Zira walked off back to her territory to recuperate, following the scent of her mate and offspring. Watching her leave, Keehar turned to look at the humans for several seconds, panting heavily, and walked up to them. Adrian turned to the little pterosaur and said, "You did good today". Watching this happen, Jack turned to Drew and asked, "What do we do now?" Drew turned to him, smiled, and said, "What we do best. Fix things. Because, after all, tomorrow's another day."
