*Insert mandatory apology for taking over half a year to write a single chapter here*, besides the point, I want to warn you that I took a few… liberties with this chapter, such as giving Ghidorah a power that some sources I found said he had, but I couldn't find anything official that said he did. It's nothing even remotely game changing but I used it to make some fights he has more interesting and give him a bit more variety in fights. Moving on, I give you the longest chapter I have made so far, and, as usual, rip me a new one if I majorly fucked something up.
Underneath the Highway
Time suddenly began to move forward again as the Gravity Beam continue its charge at the blocking Zilla, who glared defiantly as his flames burned brightly. The situation was bleak, even if you were an optimist. There was two Kaiju that both had the intent on killing, one of which was King Ghidorah no less. Zilla and Kiryu were crippled in some way or another, Zilla because of a serious wound and Kiryu essentially having both his mechanical body and mind turning on and off at random, which hurt, a lot. Then there was Ruby and her friends, most of which were thrown across the ground, all of them still being children and not fully trained warriors. What only proceeded to make matters even worse was that Ghidorah had launched an attack that fully had the power to, at minimum, heavily wound Zilla, kill him at worst. Being left with no other option but to block in an attempt to survive thisattack, let alone another attack, sufficit to say, ZIlla, as well as everyone else present, were in a terrible position.
No one could look away as the Gravity Beam made contact with Zilla's intensely burning guard, which resulted in a massive blinding flash that forced everyone to cover their eyes, except for Ghidorah, who merely just narrowed his eyes, with a loud blast covering any other sound. After the flash had gone away and the sound had died away into nothing, team RWBY, Sun and Neptune as well as Kirby all looked back to where Zilla had previously been standing defiantly with his flames burning just as defiant as their master had been, only to see nothing but a crater with a small but thick cloud of smoke. Fear, shock, disbelief, terror, anger, all of these and other emotions were going through the minds of the Humans, Faunases, and Mechanical Kaiju that were present. Zilla was gone, without any warning. There didn't even appear to be anything left of him, and this was the guy who had seconds ago taken on a giant robot and a someone who's mere presence should of made him a normal human. The scenarios one of their friends or family, both of which were right there and in the very same danger in the case of Yang and Ruby, being hit with an attack like that filled them with terror.
All of them continued to stare wide eyed in terror at the spot where Zilla once was while Ghidorah inspected his handy work, with narrowed eyes. Where was the body? Sure, his Gravity Beam certainly had enough power to vaporize a Human or Faunas, but a Kaiju, even in human form? Ghidorah knew that he was one of the definitive strongest Kaiju, but even he couldn't completely annihilate a Kaiju with one mere Gravity Beam. Perhaps it just because the he was a weak Kaiju in human form? That was certainly possible, even if he did defeat Hokmuto, who was admittedly not one of the strongest Kaiju.
Still, he knew something was up. Just before the Gravity Beam had made contact with the currently MIA Kaiju, Ghidorah could've sworn that he had seen something fly towards the Gravity Beam. He could've just been imagining things, but he doubted it, mostly out of principle of him being mistaken. Luckily for him, he had a way of making sure he wasn't wrong, "Hokmuto, did you happen to see something at the last second before that attack connected?" Ghidorah asked as he made a passing glance to his subordinate as he lowered his trident, before returning his sight straight to the smoke screen. Hokmuto, who had also been looking at the dust cloud intently with narrowed eyes, though that was mostly hidden by his sunglasses, how Ghidorah despised those things, made it difficult to gauge where he was looking. "You saw it too, huh? Then I wasn't seeing things." Hokmuto replied to Ghidorah's question, causing the Golden King of Terror to nod before keeping his eye on the cloud of dust.
Their conversation had not gone unnoticed by everybody else. Eyes flew towards Ghidorah and Hokmuto, what had they meant by that? See something a second before the attack connected? Blake narrowed her eyes in concentration as she did her best to remember the scene as best she could, she didn't remember it that well since she was much more focused on Zilla about to die. However, due to her being a Cat Faunas, she was more perceptive than others, so she remembered the scene with vivid detail, including something that had been just over Zilla's head that she hadn't noticed it before. It was very slim and long as well as moving very fast so she couldn't get many details of it, even if it wasn't a memory anyway that it only appeared for less than a second, but was it glowing green?
No one else could say or think of anything before something flew out of the smoke screen straight toward Ghidorah at intense speeds, while giving off a bright green light. Being caught off guard momentarily by the attack, Ghidorah barely had any time at all to bring his trident up to guard against whatever was currently flying toward him. The force of the unknown item slamming in to his guard was greater than he had been expecting, evidenced by the fact he had been forced to take a step back in order to keep his balance. Despite this, he manage to hold his ground against it fairly well, Hokmuto had taken to a couple steps away from Ghidorah, to avoid both Ghidorah's trident from hitting him by accident and the attack, both of which would of hurt a lot, especially in his current state after fighting Zilla. When looking to to see what had hit them, however, both of them were shocked to see what had attacked them, which turned out to be a spear mostly decorated like the darkness of space while giving off a green glow.
While the spear was foreign and unfamiliar weapon to them, Sun, and Neptune, that wasn't the case with team RWBY and Kiryu, especially not the Cybernetic Kaiju, who was quite familiar and couldn't help but smirk at the sight of it, despite his mental pain, contrasting with the wide eyed stare of shock that donned everyone else. Regardless of their reactions to the sight of the spear, a second after the failed surprise attack, it quickly flew back, spinning like a vertical propeller blade, cutting through the smoke cloud, helping it further disappear, before flying into the air, and into the right hand of none other than Xenilla, who was floating in the air with a similar green aura that his spear had, not looking happy at all. Slowly, he began to lower before his feet made contact with the ground, right in front of the crater where Zilla was, met with a series of mixed reactions as the green aura disappear around him. Shock were evident among the Humans and Faunases of Team RWBY and the members of SSSN that were present, at not just the obvious fact that Xenilla had arrived seemingly out of nowhere, but at the fact the he could fly apparently. Kiryu, while still cradling his head from pain, gave a look of pained joy at the sight of his teammate's sudden appearance, which starkly contrasted the grim determination Ghidorah and Hokmuto wore at the sight of a new foe.
Xenilla, who wore a stern face of anger and determination that made him look much more like his brother, didn't seem to register any of the reactions to his arrival. Instead he turned slightly to the cloud of smoke and dust that was almost completely gone, "Hey Zilla, were you knocked out during that blast or are you still conscious enough to thank me for saving your life?". "Fuck off Xenilla, not the time!" the angry voice of Zilla came from the dust cloud, making all of those who hadn't figure out what happen, which consisted of all of the non Kaiju except for Blake, almost coming to think that the ghost of Zilla was here if it hadn't been for A) Xenilla saying he saved Zilla B) the dust cloud conveniently disappearing all the way to reveal Zilla, on his knees and panting heavily a few feet behind where he was, looking just a little more worse for wear then had been a few moments before. Xenilla, despite himself and the situation, couldn't help but give a smirk at Zilla's retort, he didn't have time to do anything else though when Ghidorah, hoping to catch Xenilla off guard while he had talked with Zilla, quickly raised his trident again and fired another Gravity Beam, less than a second before Hokmuto had disappeared.
Xenilla quickly dropped the smirk before he his spear crackled with orange electricity and fired the Corona Beam out of the tip without him raising the spear, causing the attack to quickly swirve away from the ground and meeting it's yellow counterpart in the air half way between Xenilla and Ghidorah, canceling it out and causing another blinding another blinding flash that caused everyone to look away. As he had fired the Corona Beam, however, he had also quickly raised his left arm to his straight to his side, hand flat out, so that after the flash had dissipated and everyone looked back, they saw saw Hokmuto suspended in the air covered in the green aura of Xenilla's power, face twisted in a snarl as he looked at Zilla, with his hooked blades angled to slash at Zilla's head. Zilla, to his credit, did not jump back in surprise or fear at the imminent threat on his life, instead he looked straight into Hokmuto's eyes/sunglasses and gave an equally ferocious snarl in return. "Damn it." Ghidorah growled under his breath as he took a step forward in order to- "I wouldn't think about it Ghidorah." Xenilla said, causing the Dragon Kaiju in human form to stop in his tracks as he looked at Xenilla, whose face was all business with reptilian eyes. "I know that despite you being a heartless murder, you still look out for your subordinates' well beings. So you probably wouldn't want me doing something, I don't know, like this." Xenilla said as the thumb on his hand twitch, eliciting a pain filled scream from Hokmuto as his leg suddenly bent several dozen degrees in the wrong direction.
Ghidorah couldn't help but give a small flinch at Xenilla breaking Hokmuto's leg, he gave an animalistic growl, glaring at Xenilla in anger, but still taking a step back, in response, Xenilla let pressure off of Hokmuto's leg, making the trapped Kaiju start to give several pained pants, starting to go dizzy from the pain as shock set in. The reaction to seeing Xenilla breaking Hokmuto's leg both so easily and without hesitation was a combination of shocked and horrified among those that were present that wasn't a Kaiju, none of them expecting Xenilla, whom they had come to see a generally good guys, if a bit of a smartass and cocky at times. "It appears that we seem to have a bit of a stalemate Ghidorah, I have your subordinate and you have several individuals that I'd rather not have any harm come to." Xenilla said, eyes quickly flying over everyone present to check on any injuries they may or may not have, stopping for several seconds as he stared at Blake before returning his sight back to Ghidorah, only for his eye to suddenly twitch a second later in agitation for… something he just realized.
Ghidorah looked around in a similar fashion as to Xenilla had, seemingly just remembering about his apparent hostages, "That it does. I'm assuming you would like a trade? Hokmuto for these "friends" of yours?". Xenilla nodded before waiting for Ghidorah's response to the offer, giving a tense several seconds of waiting as Ghidorah thought on his options. "Seven hostages for one doesn't seem like a fair deal, even if that one is mine. Instead I would like to add something to the deal, in exchange for these companion's of yours, I not only want Hokmuto released, but I also want some information giving to me." Ghidorah gave his answer to Xenilla's proposition, which caused Extraterrestrial Saurian in Human form to narrow his eyes, "That would depend on just what information that you want.". As the two Kaiju went back and forth in their negotiations, those who didn't have the comfort of being godlike monsters from another world anxiously watched them. They weren't in a position to be of any help, rather being the opposite really, which was why Xenilla was trying to get them out of the picture, so that they weren't a hindrance even in the fight to come.
Then there was the thought in the back of their minds, the fear that Xenilla wasn't strong enough to beat this guy on his own, but what could they do? They were less than useful when Zilla was fighting Hokmuto, and this was clearly a fight that was going to be on a completely different level. They were left with simply hoping that Xenilla could hold his own against this Ghidorah, after all, he seemed to know about him and he didn't seem to be afraid.
"Oh it's really not that much, all I want to know is who you are and how did you come here to save your allies. Doesn't seem all that much to me in comparison to saving these children that you clearly want to be safe, now does it?", now it was Ghidorah's turn to wait as Xenilla contemplated the options that were available to him, much to the anxiety of those that were waiting on him. Luckily for them, it didn't take long for him to nod his head in acceptance of the deal, before letting go of his spear, which just hovered there in the air with the green aura once more surrounding it as the hand slipped into his pocket. "I was in a nearby book shop, trying to see if I could find a book that could assist me in a certain… project of mine. I didn't find what I wanted, however, so I sent a message to Kiryu on my scroll." Xenilla said as he pulled his deactivated scroll out of his pocket to display his point and tilted his head in the direction of Kiryu, not missing that Ghidorah's eyebrow went up in recognition of the one of the Humans of Earth's ultimate defences against Kaiju. "Of course, due to Kiryu's semblance, he is always able to respond to messages nearly instantly. When he hadn't responded for several minutes, I knew something was wrong. The rest was simple, after the news of the hijacked Paladin had been released." Xenilla said, shrugging a bit at the end as he put his scroll back into the pocket of his trench coat. Ghidorah nodded, finding the answer satisfying even if it wasn't what he was expecting or wanted, even if he he did appreciate the knowledge of one enemy his that could actually be considered somewhat of a threat being here, even if that enemy was currently already on his knees due to Hokmuto's presence alone.
Ghidorah raised his trident and pointed it at Yang, Sun, and Neptune, who just so happened to fall close enough to each other other that each head of the trident could point to one of them each, "You three, go to him, and don't try anything.". The harsh tone of the command caused Sun and Neptune to quickly nod their heads and scramble to their feet before nearly tipping over their own feet as they ran to Xenilla, as Yang gave Ghidorah a fierce glare before following after Sun and Neptune. As the three of them made their way, Xenilla spoke, "Zilla, are you still able to fight?", he didn't have to wait long for Zilla to respond to him as he saw a shake of the head out of the corner of his eye. "No, I'm afraid my shoulder is either broken or dislocated from Ghidorah's attack, and without my aura, thanks to Hokmuto here, I'm not going to be able to heal fast enough to help you. The most I'm going to be able to do without putting myself in further risk is make sure Kiryu and the others escape safely." Zilla said, giving the suspended a particularly dirty look as Yang, Sun, and Neptune made it over to them, to which Xenilla only nodded to.
"Xenilla, what's going on? Do you know this guy? And when can you fly?" Yang questioned when she made it safely to Xenilla, to which he gave a sideways glance to the Blonde Brawler. "His name is King Ghidorah, he's an old and very powerful enemy of Godzilla's. Stay behind me, I'm probably the only one here who's going to be able to fight him and not die." Xenilla said quickly, ignoring that last question in favor of staying on task and returning his sight back to the Dragon Kaiju as Yang and the other two hesitantly did what they were told. "That's one piece of information down, now tell me who you are. I have my suspicions, but it would be better to hear it from you." Ghidorah said before any other interaction could occur, raising his trident dead at Ruby, who had been standing there afraid out if fear, confusion, and uncertainty on how to save her friends, before suddenly stiffening in fear as the trident began to crackle with the energy of his Gravity Beams once more, "And if you even get the idea to lie to me about your identity, she dies.". The threat hadn't brought out any reaction from Xenilla, unlike Zilla and Yang, how with letting out protective growls, earning them strange looks from Sun and Neptune as their protective instincts for her sister and his for children began to rise up, even if she had made a mistake.
"I don't have a reason to lie. But even if I did, it's not as if I was in a position to, as that would needlessly put all of them in danger." Xenilla said as his hands fell into his pockets, but the signature green aura grew brighter around the spear as it jerked upward, pointed straight at Ghidorah's chest and causing Sun and Neptune to jump in surprise to avoid being hit by the base. "All the same, my name is Xenilla.", at Xenilla's answer, Ghidorah's eyebrow rose in interest and then he smiled, one that sent a chill down the spines of almost everyone there. "Xenilla, huh? Like I said, I had my suspicions, but for it to actually be you?" Ghidorah calmly now as he let his trident fall to his side, which prompted Yang and Zilla to relax somewhat now that Ruby was no longer in any immediate danger, and this time, it was Xenilla's turn to raise an eyebrow, "You've heard of me?".
Ghidorah, now suddenly far more relaxed then before, but that smile that he wore on his face kept everyone else from doing the same, shrugged. "Only through a few rumors that one of my subordinates had come across amongst my… travels." what Ghidorah meant had went completely over the humans heads due to them not know what he was, but to the Kaiju, they knew they meant him wiping out entire intergalactic civilizations, a fate the humans of Earth had come dangerously close to, only stopped by Godzilla and his allies. And Xenilla had a good guess in his mind about which subordinate he was talking about. "Despite this, your powers are rather unique, so it wasn't to guess who you are. And I have to say, I'm a rather big fan of your work, after all, I can only think of one person who has closer to killing Godzilla.", a chorus of shocked gasped came from the humans present before they all looked to Xenilla himself, desperately trying to see anything from his reaction that pointed to Ghidorah lying somehow.
Instead they saw the stone cold expression of Xenilla, not even flinching at the revelation. Some had chosen to taking this as a sign of hope that Ghidorah was lying, but Yang knew otherwise, Godzilla's earlier words echoing in her ears, "I hadn't even known about him long after I met up with these guys. Even after our first meeting, which wasn't the greatest meeting, he was… less than helpful.". She had taken it that he had ignored his brother or had been inexperienced in using his semblance in the beginning so he had dragged them down a bit in battle. But to try to kill his own brother? She had never even thought of that, due to her having a sibling herself, and sure they fought some times. But to actually try and kill Ruby? She couldn't begin to think of any reason why she or anyone would want to kill their sibling.
She glared at that back of Xenilla, anger and a sense of hatred for him rising within her. A part of her briefly wondered if it had been Xenilla himself who had killed Godzilla's previous family, but due to the elder brother's earlier reaction at the thought of what happened, Yang knew
that whoever had killed them, must've been dead or would be whenever Godzilla finds them. That still didn't raise her opinion of Xenilla that high, but she did have to wonder what was the history between them.
Xenilla still didn't show any signs of a reacting, keeping all of his focus on Ghidorah in front of, and barely noticing the reactions of horror and shock produced by those around him. Zilla on the other hand, taking full notice of these reactions, swore under his breath. He didn't know what Xenilla had planned to do with most of the girls besides just gaining allies if the need arose, but whatever he had in mind for them had no chance of working at the moment, perhaps never again. And it had the chance of escalating further if they had the urge to tell anyone what they heard, which they probably would. Zilla swore under his breath, they had barely been at Beacon for three, maybe four, depending on what time it was, days before disaster hit.
"In light of this news, I recommend an alliance. Under our's and my associates' combined power, Godzilla would not be able to-" Ghidorah began after a lack of response from Xenilla, before being interrupted, "No.". Ghidorah, as well as everyone else other than Zilla and Kiryu, were caught off guard by Xenilla's sudden and blunt response, causing a moment of pause. "I'm sorry, but did you just say no?" Ghidorah said, now glaring at Xenilla in displeasure at both being interrupted and denied, both something that doesn't often happen without the culprit being found dead soon afterwards. Xenilla nodded, his expression still locked in a neutral state, "Yes I did. Because, let's just say I've had a change of heart when it concerns my brother, and I no longer have the intention to even pretend to bring him harm.", Ghidorah let out a growl of frustration and annoyance as Xenilla shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, as if turning down the Golden King of Terror was an everyday thing, "Besides, even if I had joined as a spy, if you were half as smart as I think you are, you would catch me red handed in a week or two max.".
"I see." Ghidorah growled out as the hostility from him returned full force, "A shame to hear that, but as much you would have been able to assist me and my associates, do not assume for an instant that I will hesitate to kill you out of some naive hope that you'll join us.". Xenilla gave a shrug at the death threat, "I wouldn't expect anything else from you Ghidorah, however, I wouldn't be giving out threats if I were in your position.", everyone flinched in surprise when Hokmuto let out another pain filled scream when Xenilla's telekinetic grip on him tightened, albeit not as loud as the last one, "Now if you don't want me to break Hokmuto's other leg, and since I did answer your question, I recommend you continue on the deal we made.". Ghidorah gave a threatening snarl before he used his trident to point to the four remaining the last members of team RWBY. He jerked his head toward Xenilla at them without saying a word, prompting them all to quickly run over to Xenilla, leaving only Kiryu at the mercy of Ghidorah left.
When they had all gotten behind Xenilla, the Crystal Kaiju spoke, not loud enough for Ghidorah to hear, but just enough for everyone to hear him, "Listen all of you, right now, I do not care what you think of me." He said, almost feeling the glares and looks of distrust on his back. "However if you all want to get out of here alive, then you're going to do what I say. Understood?" Xenilla continued, looking back for only a couple a seconds to gauge their reactions, not wanting to keep his eyes off of an angry Ghidorah for long. The more emotional ones of the group, that being Sun and Yang, were the ones that were sending distrustful glares at his back, but they weren't the only ones giving signs of mistrust in him. Weiss was looking him over with a gaze that was significantly sharper than when they first met, Ruby looking at him, eyes wide with fear and confusion, and Blake had her eyes narrowed at him. He kept his eyes on her longer than he would've liked trying to figure out what emotion she had in her eyes, but in the end, he was forced to look back at the major threat that was Ghidorah before he could.
He didn't see any sign that they wouldn't do as he said, outside of the looks of hate given to him by Sun and Yang, so he continued, "In a second, I'm going to give Hokmuto here back to Ghidorah, I want at least some of you to help Zilla get Kiryu out of here. Depending on what happens, I may end up staying here in an effort to prevent Ghidorah from pursuing you.". Xenilla didn't hear anything from them that would've been an answer in the negative, besides maybe some teeth grinding coming from Yang's direction. Wow she really didn't like him now did she? Part of Xenilla wondered if something had happened when they were alone that made Yang protective of Godzilla or if it was just the information about his nearly successful… Patricide? Fratricide? Damn it, being a black hole clone is confusing, he'll just settle on Fratricide due to their current chosen titles of each other.
Forcing those thoughts out of his head as he brought his attention back to Ghidorah, who was currently giving a deadly glare at him. Where Xenilla could say, being a three headed dragon of death seemed to give him a problem with the word "no" when it was directed at him. Before he, or anyone else for that matter, could open their mouths to say anything else, Xenilla took his hands out of his pocket, his left hand now aimed directly at Kiryu, causing the Mechanical Kaiju to be covered in the green aura produced by Xenilla's telekinesis. His right had both his middle and index fingers pointed at Hokmuto, and in one movement, Xenilla flicked his fingers toward Ghidorah as his left hand was pulled towards himself, causing Hokmuto to be telekinetically thrown towards Ghidorah and Kiryu to be quickly dragged across the ground, stopping behind Xenilla just as the aura around him disappeared.
Ghidorah, using his free hand that wasn't holding his trident, caught Hokmuto out of the air. "Ack! Hey take it easy-" Hokmuto began but was then interrupted when Ghidorah roughly dropped him and further silenced him with a deadly glare. "As far as I am concerned, whatever pain you feel right now from that broken leg of yours, is deserved. Running straight ahead into an unknown enemy's grasp, while you had already suffered serious injuries, was a foolish child's mistake Homuto. If this was a different situation, I would've forced you to let you heal your leg naturally as punishment, however, this is not one where we can afford that." Ghidorah said in a scolding tone to Hokmuto, who looked up to him in slight fear, as Ghidorah used his free hand to take something out from behind his waist, which turned out to be a special syringe that held a grey liquid. "Consider yourself lucky Gigan managed to give me this prototype last I saw him." Ghidorah said before pressing the syringe into Hokmuto and inserting the contents into him. With it now empty, Ghidorah threw the syringe aside, keeping an eye on Hokmuto's wounds, which had started to heal at a considerable faster rate.
"These are prototype nanobots I've developed. They should be able to heal most injuries in a few minutes, and enhance their host by a small margin. The problem is I don't know how long they will last or even how effective they'll be. I would appreciate if you could field test them, it doesn't matter how you do it." Gigan's earlier words came to Ghidorah as he watched Hokmuto's wounds begin to heal with stoic approval. Still, while he was pleased with the results, he was less than happy with how he was forced to use them, as he had been hoping to save it for when he engaged Godzilla, an advantage that could've been critical in a fight with the King of the Kaiju. "Pull back until you are able to fight at full capability. I'll deal with Xenilla myself." Ghidorah said, getting a nod from Hokmuto as the weaker Kaiju began to run away with a noticeable limp.
Ghidorah turned his attention back to Xenilla, his soon to be opponent standing exactly where he was before. The same couldn't be said about the rest, who were currently a noticeable distance away, with Zilla and Yang helping Kiryu up as they retreated. "Clever move there Xenilla, using your power to ensure that none of them had go into my range, while simultaneously preventing me from trying anything by having to catch Hokmuto if I didn't want him to sustain any injuries." Ghidorah thought as he raised his trident before it crackled with energy for a second before he fired off a Gravity Beam at the fleeing humans, Faunases, and Kaiju. He didn't actually expect to hit them, he was more curious on how Xenilla would react to such an attack.
Deja Vu had hit Ghidorah when Xenilla's spear gave its own crackle of orange electricity as the Corona Beam was fired, once more meeting the Gravity Beam in the air, resulting in a blinding flash as the canceled out. The flash had only made Ghidorah have to narrow his eyes in order to see, which allowed him to see a shadow that moved through the light towards him at high speeds. The Golden King of Terror sidestepped the attack just as it came by him, seeing the object was actually none other than Xenilla's spear. Having missed its target, the spear began to wildly spin like a buzzsaw as it began to make a wide turn back to Ghidorah, easily cutting through the concrete floor as it did.
When it had gotten in range, Ghidorah had used his trident to deflect the spinning spear, prompting it to bounce off of the Golden metal. It quickly shifted in position, this time going for his foot, which was moved out of the way in time for it to avoid being stabbed through like the ground was. Before Ghidorah could do anything else, the spear pulled back from its attack, carving into the ground a bit more before it pointed upward and flew straight at Ghidorah's side. Sparks flew when it grazed off Ghidorah's trident, which had been placed there in time to block it, causing it once more to cut into the ground as the back end of the spear shifted toward Ghidorah's head, the aim of this clearly to stun Ghidorah with a blunt hit to the head. He wasn't about to let that happen, however, as he blocked the attack with the back of his trident.
Getting tired of being on the defensive, Ghidorah pushed the spear back as he spun on his foot before launching another Gravity Beam at Xenilla. To his surprise, instead recalling the spear and firing a Corona Beam to cancel it out once more like Ghidorah had hoped he would, a large slab of the stone ground was covered in Xenilla's signature green aura before it was raised up in front of the Gravity Beam. The Gravity Beam slammed into the wall of stone, completely destroying it, but still blocking the attack. Looking through the resulting dust cloud, Ghidorah laid eyes on his telekinetic opponent, only for them to go wide in surprise.
All around Xenilla, large white crystals that matched the ones on his shoulders were beginning to form and grow, with some already as high as his waist. Suddenly, Ghidorah remembered Gigan had brought up when they had first heard of Xenilla, which had been about his ability to grow crystals that enhance his telekinetic powers, if he remembered what Gigan said correctly. Was that series of spear attacks really nothing more than a distraction for him to grow these crystals? Ghidorah grounded his teeth in frustration and anger, he had fallen for Xenilla's trick like a fool, and the the Golden King of Terror did not like being made a fool of.
Suddenly, a question had came to Ghidorah: what had happened to the spear? Hearing a whooshing sound from behind him, Ghidorah had barely managed to turn around in time to see the flying spear coming for him at intense speeds. Reacting more out of instinct than anything else, Ghidorah took a step back, narrowly sidestepping the spear that once more carving into the ground before flying back to its master, who caught it with one hand. Ghidorah hadn't seen that however, he had instead looked down as when he had dodged that latest attack, his foot had crushed something. He looked down to inspect what he had stepped on, only to feel shock fill him to the brim when he saw that under his foot, was the same white crystals that Xenilla used to increase his power. How had that got there?
An image from just seconds ago popped into his head, one of Xenilla's spear stabbing the ground where his foot had been just a moment before. Ghidorah moved his foot, and sure enough, the crystal had grown out of the very same hole that the spear had made, which meant only one thing. Ghidorah snapped his neck to look behind him, which had prove his theory correct, as where ever Xenilla's spear had cut into, now had white crystals growing out of them, with some of the bigger ones reaching his shins. His head snapped back to Xenilla, sending him a glare, as well as to his spear, but also taking into account that the crystal that had been up to Xenilla's waist before was now taller than him, making a wall behind him. Ghidorah couldn't stop the growl that came from his throat of frustration and anger at being made a fool twice over, Xenilla apparently inheriting his "brother's" innate ability to be a massive pain for Ghidorah.
Ghidorah's eyes narrowed on the spear trying to figure out how it had the ability to grow the crystals, but do to the distance, was unsuccessful in doing so. Suddenly, the crystals that surrounded Xenilla, as well as the ones behind Ghidorah, began to glow, as their master raised his free hand, his telekinesis activating once more. Ghidorah tensed, preparing himself for action, whether it was for defense against what Xenilla had planned or for an attack against him if the opportunity revealed itself. Xenilla's hand closed before he brought it downwards in a punch like motion, signifying that whatever Xenilla had planned was in motion. Ghidorah's eyes flew over the surrounding area for anything even had a hint of green light around it, the only the thing he saw being the white glow of the crystals. During his search, he noticed that the area around him had quickly began to get darker, meanwhile, everywhere else didn't seem to have that issue.
Ghidorah's eye widened once more as he realized what Xenilla was doing. He looked up, just in time for him to see a massive block of stone and concrete above him covered in the green aura he was looking for. Ghidorah's guess at what was happening was that Xenilla had ripped out a section of the bridge that was above them both using his crystal boosted power, and was now attempting to crush him under it. It was to big for Ghidorah to roll out of the way in time, and to close for him not to get him by his own Gravity Beam's blast if he attempted to destroy it. Luckily for him he had one trick up his sleeve.
Dust once more covered the area as the fallen section of the bridge fell on top of Ghidorah, causing Xenilla to narrow his eyes in order to avoid getting any in them. He searched the dust cloud for any sign of gold as he looked for Ghidorah, the dust being too thick for him to see what happened. That had been… easier then expected. True, Ghidorah had clearly figured out what he was doing with his spear attacks much faster than he would've liked, that being, of course spreading more crystals using the tiny shard on the spear, which he normally used to fire the Corona Beam. This made him had to improvise, sending the spear out of sight in order to place more crystals on the back of various nearby pillars when Ghidorah had been distracted for a few seconds figuring out what he was doing. The crystals were still small and weren't growing all that fast due to the distance from him, so barely produced enough energy that had helped in the bridge stunt.
Speaking of which, that had been a literal mental pain to do. The plan was to use it as a distraction for him to get away from Ghidorah, but he barely had enough crystal boosted power to do, so it had taken a bit too much out of him to pull it off. Then there was the whole what if scenario where he accidently ripped out too much of the bridge, causing it all to come down on both their heads. Luckily, the supports seemed to be holding up well enough, and he knew no one would be up there after the Paladin's rampage on it till at least tomorrow. However, Ghidorah had seen what he was doing, but instead of attempting to destroy the boulder like he had been expecting, or even attempting to dodge, the Three Headed Monstrosity in human form had just stood there and let it fall on him. Why?
Was he arrogant enough to believe that he could shrug off even an attack of that size like it was nothing? Sure, even Xenilla doubted that killed him, but at the very least it would break a bone or two. That didn't feel right though, Ghidorah wasn't stupid, you can't wipe out intergalactic civilizations if you weren't at least smart enough to find them all across worlds they inhabited. That and he should've been humbled by Godzilla more than enough times to realize he wasn't invincible. No matter how he tried to rationalize it, Xenilla couldn't figure it out, why had Ghidorah just stood ther-.
Xenilla's thought process came to a start when he heard the crackle of energy from the dust cloud, and a yellow Gravity Beam shot out of the dust, heading straight for Xenilla. Reacting quickly, Xenilla pointed the spear at it again as he readied the Corona Beam to be fired again at the yellow counterpart. Before he could though, Xenilla was hit with a splitting headache that forced him to lower the spear as the other hand flew to his head to cradle it. He knew, even through the pained headache, the Gravity Beam didn't care about him being in pain, so he attempted to dodge to his right. He didn't have enough time to dodge completely, as the Gravity Beam slammed full force into his left arm just before he could get it out of the way.
Xenilla let out a scream of pain as he felt the power of the Gravity Beam badly burn his arm before the force of it sent him flying backwards. Of course, there was no he could properly be sent flying backwards without hitting the very large crystal he place behind him, which he did, hard enough to shatter it. A grunt of pain escaped Xenilla as he landed hard on his back against the concrete floor. He knew that Ghidorah wasn't going to let him go just because he was down, so he forced himself to get back up to his feet despite the pain. Xenilla inspected his arm while he could. Just before retreating, Zilla had told him that Hokmuto's "semblance" removed aura's as long as he was in range, but when Hokmuto had also retreated out of sight, Xenilla had hoped he would be out of range.
Of course, that hope had of course been a fool's one, because his wound wouldn't nearly been this bad if his aura had been there. He could feel that his arm was dislocated and how he had at least broken the forearm, but he wasn't sure how bad a break it was. The point where the Gravity Beam had made contact was the worst of course, and it was obvious at where it was too, due to the third degree burns covering the bicep region. The sleeve of his trench coat had fused with the top layer of skin from the heat, and t was easy to see into the muscles and bone of his arm. Luckily for him, the damage was already healing, due to his healing factor, which was genetic instead of being intertwined with his aura like most beings that inhabited Remnant.
It wasn't instant though, and now without his aura, it was especially slow. Still, it meant the damage, while extreme, wasn't lasting and would mean it would be gone soon. "Might as well help it along while i can." Xenilla thought as his arm was covered in the green aura of his power, and managing to keep the grunt of pain under breath as his shoulder jerked back to the position it should be in as he rearranged the rest of the bones within his arm to put where they should, much like he did with his leg earlier in the day.
Noise from the dust cloud drew his attention away from his arm, but the green aura remained. Golden armoured boots clanking against the ground he walked on, came Ghidorah emerging out of the dissipating dust cloud, not even having a scratch on his armor. Xenilla let out a sigh, of course dropping a stone that weighed upwards of a ton wouldn't scratch his armor, let alone make him flinch. His poker face returning, Xenilla stood straighter as he looked straight at Ghidorah, "You're a telepath?". Ghidorah stopped almost in mid stride when the question was asked eyes going somewhat wide, "While that is true, that… wasn't the question I was expecting.", Xenilla snorted in response putting on a bit of an act to anger Ghidorah as his body relaxed and his uninjured arm put a hand on his hip, "What? were you expecting me to go 'Oh my how are you alive?! I put all of my strength into that attack! There's no way I can ever hope to match you almighty Ghidorah!" Xenilla said, putting on a mock voice of fear. "Pfft, as if. Kiryu already told me that you have the ability to create indestructible energy domes, even if he didn't feel the need to tell me about your telepathy. So if I had to guess, you probably put one up around you so the boulder didn't even touch you, am I right?" Xenilla said, the smirk that came next being genuine as Ghidorah glared at him, either angered at the fake nonchalance he was putting on or that the guess was right.
Ghidorah wasn't impressed by the act Xenilla put on, though, meaning that Xenilla was right, "You know that little act of confidence you have going on doesn't work nearly as well when you have a hole in your arm." The Golden King of Terror spoke, a deadpan look taking the place of the glare. Xenilla couldn't help but flicking his eyes over said hole in arm, subconsciously taking note that the healing factor had done its job enough so that you could no longer see the bone, but it still was a grizzly wound. Still, Xenilla had decided to commit to the act out of a hope that Ghidorah would do something rash and would leave himself open out of annoyance, and he'd be damned if he let a little critique like that ruin his acting career. "You mean this little burn?" Xenilla asked, wearing a cocky smile as he jammed a finger into the wound as if it didn't bother him at all, making sure to subdue the flinch of pain and keep it out of his voice, "Please, I pretty much got vaporized by Godzilla's Red Spiral Ray, a little wound like this is nothing in comparison to that.".
"Having felt the power of that attack more than a few times, I can agree that a hit from my Gravity Beam wouldn't be much in comparison. However that does raise a question." Ghidorah said, placing his trident at his side, adopting a neutral stance that remained ready to attack or defend himself, "After all the… history between you two, I find it surprising that you've forgiven him for everything he's done.". Xenilla gave a dark chuckle at that as he began to reminisce his past relationship with his brother, "I think you mean you're surprised that he's forgiven me. Everything that happened between us was because I had attacked him and he had defended himself like any being would." he said, not even realizing he had dropped the act as he went down memory lane. "Oh? Is that a fact?" Ghidorah said, breaking Xenilla out of his thoughts with a sadistic tone that sent a chill down his spine, matching the grin on his face that would cause even most Kaiju to freeze with fear, "Then tell me, who's fault was it when he killed your sons?". Every ounce of Xenilla's being went still at the last word Ghidorah said, just as his world did. Ghidorah grin grew wider when he had hit a sore spot for Xenilla.
"I hope I'm remembering that correctly, you had two sons right?" Ghidorah said, legitimately trying to remember what Gigan had told you years ago, "Had being the key word.". Xenilla at this point had gone numb, he couldn't even hear Ghidorah clearly anymore, the voice sounding like it was being said under the water, only certain words were heard clearly, and those only served to anger him more. "Well, sons isn't the right word is it now is it? That would imply they were made with some sense of love? They were more like weapons you created than your sons." Ghidorah continued, the grin growing ever bigger as he noticed that Xenilla grew more tense and his fists tightened, clearly angered. "If memory serves me, and if that rumor my subordinate told me said that they had died in a fight with none other than Godzilla." Ghidorah said, the clear sadist glee in his voice was thicker than the section of bridge he had nearly been crushed by as he saw Xenilla begin to tremble out of a clear undying rage, "You have yet to answer me, who is at fault for their deaths? Is it their killer Godzilla? Is it theirs for daring to fight him? Or is it still you? The one who sent them to their deaths?". The trembling only continued to intensify as Ghidorah went on, "Good, that anger will make you reckless, and if you're anything like Godzilla, you'll close the distance yourself." Ghidorah thought, unable to help that his grin grew that bit more into a full fledge smile covering his face at the memory that melee combat was far from a forte of Xenilla's, missing the faint traces of a light green aura covering the trembling body.
"Now that I think about it, what were their names? I think it was something like Kryst-", Xenilla didn't remember suddenly taking hold of his whole body with telekinesis. He didn't remember sending himself flying straight at Ghidorah at speeds that would make Ruby jealous. He didn't remember slamming his fist into Ghidorah's trident with enough force to make Ghidorah take a step back. When did his trident get into a guard position anyway? He also didn't remember sending his spear behind Ghidorah, and having it stab him in the side. What Xenilla did remember was that suddenly slamming his left hand into Ghidorah's face with enough force to send him flying several feet back.
Ghidorah managed to reorient himself in the air enough for him to land sliding on his knees or a foot, letting out a small grunt of pain at his newly received wounds. His free hand going to his cheek to feel the damage, grimacing slightly at the stinging pain that followed, but his jaw fortunately wasn't dislocated or broken. Then there was the feeling of his blood going down his side, prompting his hand to quickly fly to that wound, more stinging pain following. The cut wasn't deep enough to be a major concern due to the to the durability of both him and his armor, but it did show that Xenilla's spear was something that meant business.
"What makes you think you have the right, to say their names!?" Xenilla yelled, his voice losing anything that resembled the calmness it had before, "Especially when you had the nerve to accuse Godzilla at being at fault!". Ghidorah's head flew upward to look at Xenilla, more than a little surprised to see that the green glow of his powers were going off of him in strong waves. The thing that caught his attention the most, however, were his burning eyes that now looked almost exactly like his brother's. Which prompted another thought for Ghidorah: pissing off Godzilla was a good idea exactly zero percent of the time, so why did he think pissing his clone off was smart?
Meanwhile
Kiryu heard Zilla grumble something under his breath, probably something indignant about having to be carried due to his injuries. What specifically it was Kiryu didn't catch like he would've if he had been focused on the mutated iguana was saying, but most of his mind was currently in other places. After they managed to get out of Hokmuto's EMP range, the pain on Kiryu's mind went away, so now he was back to functioning at full capacity again. There was a small bit of surprise when Kiryu had suddenly picked Zilla up and gently pushed Yang away from him, but Kiryu felt it was required due to Zilla's wounds slowing their escape by a noticeable margin. So all he had done was fix a problem, which had increased the others' pace by a percentage of 23%, as they had slowed themselves out of a fear that Zilla wouldn't be able to keep up due to his injuries, either subconsciously or intentional. There was also the point of making sure that Zilla didn't make his injuries worse due to his movement, so carrying Zilla has killed two birds with one stone, even with it garnering a few strange looks from the others.
What prompted Kiryu's focus to be in… other places, was because of the very battle they were currently running from. Due to the inevitable destruction caused by two Kaiju facing each other at full power, Kiryu was currently doing his best to try to mitigate the resulting damage. Being unable to physically join in the fight to end it faster due to Hokmuto's presence, which only cause further reason for Kiryu to despise that EMP aura, Kiryu was left only trying his best to ensure no one would get caught in the fight. It seemed it was only in this prospect that the universe had decided to grant them some kind of break. Due to Roman's earlier rampage with the hijacked Paladin, the local law enforcement had already began to block off the area for civilians, making it that all Kiryu really had to do was change their orders mid transmission to double the size of the blockade. He also had to keep a close eye on any transmissions that had orders for teams to go in and search the area so he could intercept them and ensure their recipients never receive them.
Then there was the difficult part. Kiryu was honestly surprised that he wasn't seeing the fleet of Atlas ships already hanging above all of their heads at the news of one of their prototype Paladins causing mass mayhem. Knowing how Atlas worked, they would of done everything within their power to salvage both their reputation and their stolen equipment. The fact that weren't was something of a massive blessing to Kiryu and the rest of the Kaiju, as they didn't need to explain to the military and technological superpower how a bunch of kids were able to stand against one of the machines that was supposed to be equivalent to a entire battalion. They also didn't need to test what would happen if the ships they sent entered Hokmuto's EMP range, knowing that Kiryu was heavily affected by it and he was designed to be resilient to EMPs.
It was only when Kiryu hacked into their system to ensure that they didn't make a move was when he came across the reason for the blessing. It was because they didn't know. For the past hour something had been running interference with their communication equipment, causing any signals they receive to be messy at best. Right now, they were trying to fix the problem as best they could by going over the equipment, thinking that it was a hardware issue, but Kiryu knew better, he was inside the systems after all.
Within the ocean of data that made up the Atleasian fleet's servers, Kiryu could see tiny traces of code spread here and there. The code, upon closer inspection, was remarkably advanced despite its small since, and when Kiryu said advanced, he meant advanced. Despite the simple instructions that it held, the tiny pieces of code spread throughout the entirety of the server was beyond even some of Earth's most advanced coding. Meaning that there was another being from Earth, most likely a Kaiju, here in Remnant that, and probably in Vale too, that also specialized in cyberwarfare that had the same idea that Kiryu had. Normally it would've been a mystery as to which one it would've been, but due to the incredibly small number of Kaiju that had access to such an ability, how the code was familiar to Kiryu, and how Ghidorah was here, it didn't take a genius to figure out which one it was.
"Yang? Is something wrong?" Ruby's voice from just ahead Kiryu broke him out of his thoughts, causing him to come to a stop as he looked behind him, both to see how far away they've gotten from Ghidorah and Xenilla's battle and to see what was going on. The distance wasn't as far as Kiryu would've liked, then again, his idea of a ideal distance was being back at Beacon, so he would have to deal with what he had. The mixed group of humans, faunas, and Kaiju had been running for upwards of five or so minutes now, Kiryu wasn't sure, as his normally precise literal inner clock had been thrown out of whack from the continuous EMP that was produced from Hokmuto, which just added another reason for Kiryu to upgrade his EMP resistance. Right now, they seemed to have come to a stop, with Kiryu hanging towards the back, with Ruby, Weiss, Sun, and Blake ahead of him with Neptune and Yang just behind him. Now that he was looking behind him, Kiryu could see Yang had been dragging behind him more than he thought she would.
He also saw that her eyes kept moving and focusing on different spots, behind her, towards the battlefield that was now being bathed in an ominous green glow with the occasional flash of yellow and orange, then to her friends, and then to Kiryu and Zilla, seeming to focus directly on Zilla's wounds for a few seconds at a time before looking away. She also seemed hesitant about something, as her hands remained clenched tightly as she looked like she wanted to ask something, but didn't know how, which only seemed seemed to grow more as the rest of her friends turned to look at her when her sister saw her lag behind to much, making her feel like she was being put on the spot. Whatever it was she wanted, it would have to wait, Kiryu settled, as this was neither the time and definitely not the place to discuss it. He opened his mouth to say something about getting a move on, but it was at that moment that Yang built up the nerve to say what she wanted, "Kiryu, Zilla… I know I don't exactly have the right to do this, especially how I've had a hand in everything going wrong tonight, but… I need to know what's going on?".
"When I asked Xenilla earlier, he only said that golden guy's name was Gidra or something and that he had some beef with Godzilla. Then whatever his name said Xenilla tried to kill his brother, which he didn't even deny!" Yang spoke boldly trying not to lose her nerve as she continued before either Kiryu or Zilla could put their objections to this without at least explaining herself. Her friends, meanwhile, began to look amongst each other, the same curiosity and need to know what was going on around them and how Godzilla was connected to all of this, but it was repressed in most of them due the same guilt in hesitance that Yang had with the fact that they were all responsible for what happened, as their plan to fight against the White Fang had led directly to the appearance of Ghidorah, the Paladin rampage on the bridge, and Zilla being wounded like he was. Overall, despite the shared want of information, they kept it to themselves, but they wouldn't turn down the chance to find out what was happening.
Kiryu and Zilla on the other hand, looked at Yang with a strange triple mixture of apprehension, understanding, and stoicness. Their eyes met for a few seconds before the glowing yellow ones closed as Kiryu sighed in a form of exasperation before the Cybernetic Kaiju spoke "Yang, that story is a long and complicated mess, and we-". "-Aren't in a good place to tell it, and neither is it our right to tell it to you." Zilla interrupted midway through the statement as he roughly pushed himself out of Kiryu's grip, landing onto the floor, much to everyone's worry as most made a move to go to him if he was still too hurt. Despite their good natured worry though, Zilla's aura had returned a few minutes ago, healing some of the wounds that he had received from his recent skirmish. The burn that was inflicted by Ghidorah's Gravity Beam was still there for the most part, as seen through the large hole in his jacket and shirt, but almost of the cuts that he had received at the hands of Hokmuto were gone. So most of the worries that the others had about him still being in pain disappeared when he nonchalantly walked away from Kiryu and toward Yang. "What happened between the two brothers is incredibly personal for the both of them, and it would be a minor betrayal in their trust if we told someone what happened without their permission. Godzilla already doesn't like it when people give basic information about him away." Zilla said as he crossed his arms, hoping the certainly vague and foreboding answer would satisfy Yang and the others, not missing the looks on team RWBY's faces as they flashed back earlier into the day when they saw Xenilla get punched through a wall for telling them about him in the library.
Much to the disappointment of the Kaiju, Yang still wasn't done, "Alright, maybe you can't tell us about Xenilla's and Godzilla's issues with past issues with each other, but you can at least tell us about what the gold obsessed jackass' deal is!". "...It would help to know what we're dealing with in the future when we're going to run into him again." Blake said off to the side, catching the attention of everyone else as she suddenly including into the current argument to the disappointment of the Kaiju, for both making their lives more difficult and how they did not like the presence of the "when" in that statement. The situation only continued to grow worse for the monstrous duo as Weiss decided to add her two cents into conversation at hand "Blake does make a point, and it wouldn't be a break in the trust that your teammates have given you if you tell us.", and this also encouraged Sun to join in as he spoke with his usual and ,right now, very inopportune enthusiasm, "I mean come on! If this guy is a big problem, we can help you if you tell us about him!". Feeling the unsettling sensation of being pressed further into a corner by humans and faunas alike, Zilla threw Sun a fierce glare at his statement, which caused the monkey Faunas to heavily flinch and take a step back as Zilla prepared to make a comment asking them if his idea of help had anything to do at all with their earlier mistake of the Paladin rampage on the highway. The glare did little to stop anyone else though, as more became motivated by their friends to press the Kaiju for information before Zilla could get a word out.
It all came to a head when Kiryu, utterly frustrated and just wanting to get out of the general area, and feeling that any progress they make would be met with resistance until this was settled, finally relented and decided to give them some of the hard sought information they seeked. Kiryu rubbed his temples as he felt frustration sink in before he spoke in n exasperated tone "Yang, I don't know what or if Godzilla told you about his past, but do you recall anything that he he told you that could hint at something to do with his past with Ghidorah?". His words brought silence and a very small amount of pride within the members of team RWBY and SSSN that were present as they managed to get Kiryu to talk, despite the warning glares that everyone was getting from Zilla, who still wasn't a very big fan of how events were progressing. "He... didn't say a lot, nothing that was important at least." Yang said carefully as her eyes narrowed with focus as she attempted to remember everything that he said, before they widened greatly in alarm as she recalled one specific part in the memory, "Wait! Was Ghidorah behind whatever happened to Godzilla's family?!". At this, everyone else's' eyes promptly widened in surprise, her friends at the news that something really bad had happened to Godzilla's family, and the Kaiju at how she had even gotten an idea that something like that had happened, something that Godzilla was very sensitive and protective of.
Starving off his initial surprise and sudden want to know how exactly the conversation had even gotten to that, Kiryu decided to press on with a shake of his head "No, Ghidorah wasn't responsible for that, but except for the one was, Ghidorah is easily one of the most powerful and dangerous men on the planet, if not the most.". Kiryu paused for a second to carefully think on his words, wanting to remain as vague as possible in conjunction with satisfying them enough to move on, "If I had to choose which opponents of Godzilla's are the strongest, Ghidorah would easily be number two, and he's killed far more than any criminal you can think off the top of your head. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if at least half of the recent village destructions lately have been because of him rather than the Grimm or bandits. Even if he didn't though, it wouldn't even come close to equaling half of the number he's killed".The area seemed to go silent as everyone ingested the information given to them, now suddenly wishing they hadn't as they recognized that Kiryu had been honest in his words, as he didn't know how long Ghidorah had been on Remnant and what he's done.
At least half the villages that have been destroyed recently. The words didn't seem like a lot, but they held more power to the Huntsmen and Huntresses in training. It was something they had learned in their classes that with the increase in both bandit numbers and efficiency, as well as the ever increasing ferocity of the Grimm, more villages were being destroyed then ever, and hearing that more double that had been killed by one man was mind boggling. "But why would he do that though?" the quiet voice of Ruby grabbed everyone's attention as they all looked in her direction, seeing tears forming in her eyes at the idea of so many people being killed, "What would be the purpose of killing so many if he did?". Kiryu hesitated for a moment, trying to think of something for the young team leader without causing her to break down, but was beaten to it by Zilla, "There isn't one.".
His voice was quiet, so much so that the others had a hard time recognizing that it was even him at once, but it became apparent that it was him as he silently walked over to Ruby calmly, uncaring of the eyes of the others that were on him. "Then why would he do it?" Ruby tearfully asked as Zilla silently stood in front of her, "Why would he kill them?". Zilla looked down on her, his eyes significantly softer than they had been throughout the night as he watched a few tears break free as they began to travel down her cheek, an event that was beginning to become common amongst the others as they realized just how many people were now dead in what were probably due to less than peaceful ways. "Sometimes there are those who just take offense to the mere idea being alive, and decide to take it into their own hands in order to "correct the wrong." Zilla spoke softly, in a gentle tone that was almost alien to everyone else, who had almost exclusively heard his voice in a harsh angry one or uncaring. All except, Kiryu who recognized it for whenever Zilla had found a cub of some animal or another during the four years that the Kaiju had spent in the wild.
Zilla had criticized her earlier for how naive their plan for tonight had been, how it had no backup for if something went wrong, and how it could've lead to a disaster is he had not been there. Despite that though, he still saw Ruby as a child, a sensitive child at that, and it didn't matter what the child was, Zilla just hated seeing young hurt or sad. "These people like Ghidorah are always going to exist no matter what we do, because it's just how they are. In the future though, when you're finished with your training at Beacon, and are an accomplished Huntress…" Zilla continued as his hand pulled into Ruby's vision, his claw gauntlet lazily hanging from his hip, having taken it off when no one was paying attention, before he pressed his thumb gently against her cheek , wiping one of the tears away, "It'll be up to you to stop these people before they can do any harm… or at least make sure they don't get away with it.". Ruby sniffed as Zilla finished, pulling his hand away from her before she wiped the other one off with her sleeve as Zilla turned around and began to walk away, his voice returning to how it usually is as he gave one last statement, "Right now though, it's all of yours job to make sure you live to that point where you can actually fight them without just being another number on their kill counts.".
With that, Zilla began to walk away without making another glance or statement at any of them, heading away from the still ongoing battle that had somehow escaped the the minds of everyone, only to be reminded of it aw the echoing sounds of the clash reached them. Ruby was the first one to follow after Zilla, she also didn't say a word though, her mind suddenly being filled with many different things that she had to deal with. Yang followed after quickly, worry for her sister and the thought of just how bad Godzilla's life must be if he had to fight not only Ghidorah multiple times, but someone who was worse being the only two things that were on her mind. After her, they all began to follow after Zilla in a shared solemn silence as they all began to deal with different things on their minds with the information presented to them. The last to move on was Kiryu, who stayed to make sure that everyone had continued on, and also to check if the status of the battle had changed.
His eyes narrowed at the ominous green glow from under the bridges, it had been going strong throughout the entire conversation, and it didn't look like it was going to die down soon either. It wasn't that he confused what was causing the light, or the attention it was going to inevitably attract, as it could only be produced by Xenilla and he could deal with whatever news came out about it, along with the problems. No, the problem lied in why Xenilla would be producing so much of it in the first place. The green aura was always a part of his telekinesis and would always be produced whenever it was in used, but this was different though. The only cause for so much of it was that something had enraged Xenilla beyond reason. Kiryu could probably guess what the cause was and it worried Kiryu, as he had been there the few times Xenilla had been in this kind of state, and everytime it been caused by one or both of two specific things, or rather individuals, with an direct intervention of Godzilla to stop his brother from doing something stupid by talking him down or knocking him out.
Still, as much as Kiryu wanted to make sure his fellow Kaiju was alright, he couldn't near him without knowingly putting himself at risk of Hokmuto's EMP and be completely helpless to stop anything. Right now, Kiryu could only hope Xenilla would calm down soon on his own or manage to drive Ghidorah off before something bad happened. Kiryu had made to turn around before something in the back of his mind began to click rapidly, and he recognized it instantly as his Geiger counter. At the same time, at out of the corner of his eye, Kiryu saw a new light that began to glow brightly as it moved in the distance toward the distance of the battle bathed in green light that flashed of yellow and orange. A light that instantly filled Kiryu with both dread and hope once he recognized it.
The Mechanized Kaiju was suddenly glad that the large group had gotten a move on when they did, because now they would have to move much faster in order to avoid what was coming. Kiryu turned around fast and began to jog away toward the others, both to let them know of the new pace they needed to have and because he himself did not want to be anywhere near here when everything went down just from how bright the new light was alone. As Kiryu turned his back to the chorus of lights to regroup with the humans and faunas along with his partner, he missed it when a bright Azure Blue light had been joined into the fray with the others as it moved toward the center with frightening speed.
Back to the battle
A flash of moving green light out of the corner of his eye caught Ghidorah's attention, and he was forced to spin on his foot that made his trident make a wide arcing slash that destroyed the piece of debris that Xenilla had telekinetically thrown at him. Now, however, he would have to deal with the small smoke screen that had been created due to the piece of concrete being smashed, which momentarily blinded him as he closed his eyes to avoid getting dust in them. This seemed to be what Xenilla had wanted though, as Ghidorah had heard the movement of air above him not a second later.
Fortunately for the Golden King of Terror, his instincts kicked in and he managed to jump back just in time to dodge an attack that had barely missed him. Upon feeling his feet touch the ground again, Ghidorah quickly put his free arm against his face, rubbing it against his his to clean them of dust, before his eyes opened again, glowing more red then they usually were from a combination of anger and irritation. He looked straight ahead, to see Xenilla crouched down where he had just been, the head of the spear buried deep into the concrete with both hands on the handle, with Xenilla meeting the glare with a fierce snarl of his own. The same snarl that had yet to leave his face ever since Ghidorah had insulted him by attempting to sully the names of his sons.
The fury with him wouldn't allow him to give up the offensive, so he moved again, preparing for another attack. His grip loosened as he reorientated his hands on his spear, one hand going near the base of the spear shaft, the other going halfway between the middle and the head of the spear. His crouched leg tensed momentarily before Xenilla used it to jump into the air, carrying the spear out of the concrete with him as he only used a minor amount of telekinetic manipulation to help him orient himself in the mid air to be better prepared for the coming attack. He put his spear perpendicular to himself against his back, the blade of the spear further out than the base as he began to rotate in the air, bringing the lethal end of the weapon down towards its golden armored target, aiming to cut him in half, or, at the very least, inflict a gruesome maim.
Neither came to pass in the end, as Ghidorah once more put his golden weapon above his head, causing a loud clang as the head of the spear met resistance. Xenilla wasn't deterred though, as he released his grip on the spear, which was suspended in the air by the trademark green aura of his powers, causing him to momentarily enter a fall, before landing onto the ground in a roll. Using the momentum that he had from said roll, Xenilla quickly launched both of his feet straight into Ghidorah's stomach, delivering a powerful kick that took the air out of Ghidorah's lungs and pushed him back a couple of feet. Not letting his opportunity to go to waste, Xenilla sent his still suspended spear forward, aiming to plunge it into the center mass of the stunned and winded Ghidorah. Once more though, Ghidorah wasn't going to have it.
Ghidorah, recovering faster than Xenilla had predicted, had his left hand let go of his trident, instead opting to grab onto the glowing green spear, and redirecting it so that it just barely grazed his armor as it flew past him, sparks flying at the metal on metal contact. With a furious growl then raised the currently one handed trident above his head, before driving it downward, letting the middle head of the trident dig deep into Xenilla's still extended left leg. The Telekinetic Extraterrestrial Kaiju gave a loud hiss of pain at the feeling of his leg being stabbed, before recalling his spear outta instinct, which slashed Ghidorah's right shoulder as it flew by him, who let out a surprised yell of pain, and left him open for another kick from Xenilla's uninjured, now glowing, right leg. Under the force of the kick, from both Xenilla's physical strength and the added boost that that the his telekinesis gave, Ghidorah was forced back, pulling the trident out with him.
Not wanting to still be left vulnerable on the ground, Xenilla quickly jumped back onto his feet, which would normally be a bad idea for someone who was just stabbed in the leg, but due to some telekinetic trickery, Xenilla was able to make sure no weight was put on the offending leg. It still wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling, but years of fighting Godzilla, both to the death and as sparring partners, had taught him how to deal with pain. However, it wasn't the only wound he had on him though, as various cuts and bruises now clearly adorned his body. He had lost his trench coat after a close with Ghidorah's trident that he had barely dodged, but had impaled the garment to the ground, forcing him to have to tear it off if he didn't want to be immobile for a few seconds as Ghidorah prepared another attack. The rest of his clothes hadn't fared much better, his red t-shirt now had several burns and gashes put into it that were surrounded by plots that were a darker red than the rest of the shirt, spots where blood had been absorbed into the fabric, and his pants were in a similar state of being.
Xenilla paid no mind to the state of attire he was in, or the feeling of blood flowing down his foot, instead he kept both his eyes and attention locked onto Ghidorah, who also was looking rather worse for wear. A bruise was now fully formed on his cheek from Xenilla's first punch, as well as another one that was forming from his recent kick, plus a small bleeding cut just above his eye. His armor was also sporting numerous open cuts and slashes that clearly showed the skin underneath that was no longer quite as protected as it once. Leaking from some of the cuts were small streams of blood that flowed between the engraved design of the scale like chain mail before dripping to the floor in single droplets. Despite the slightly greater number of wounds than his opponent, Ghidorah paid them no mind as he likewise observed the state of his enemy rather than his own.
A sadistic form of satisfaction filled him at the sight of the new grizzly wound on Xenilla's leg and the small puddle of blood that was forming by his foot. A smirk full of pride came upon the realization, that between the two of them, Ghidorah was better off in terms of the damage they had sustained, at least for the moment. Xenilla then snarled in frustration, at both the smirk and his lack of progress at what had quickly became a battle of attrition between the two Kaiju. The moment Ghidorah had brought up Xenilla's intentions had made a dramatic shift from retreating at the earliest convenience to inflicting as much pain as physically possible onto the Three Headed Terror in human form. As a result, he had forgone his usual style of slow methodical and calculated combat in favor of a much more rage fueled and aggressive style of combat that served his current purpose much more effectively.
However, there were two downsides to this strategy, if it was even able to be called that at least. The first was the obvious disregard for his own defense that had earned him as many wounds as he had currently, which was a major disadvantage against someone who had proven to be himself to be every bit as durable as Godzilla himself. It would be at least if Xenilla hadn't possessed both the abilities of regeneration and telekinesis, making it that any wounds he had would heal, and the power of his mind to cover for any shortcomings his body found. The other problem, was not so easy to fix, and was possibly far more damaging in the long run. Being in the state of mind that he was in, all he could focus on was ensuring that he dealt damage to Ghidorah in anyway possible, control was something that he didn't want nor care for. As a result, the collateral damage in the area was immense, with shattered concrete pillars spread throughout area, deep slashes were carved into the ground where there weren't craters from various attacks that the two Kaiju had launched against the other, and even a section of the bridge above had given out and collapsed once enough its supports had been destroyed.
Xenilla, in his current state of mind, didn't particularly care about any of this though, or the aftermath of any of his attacks as long as the didn't involve Ghidorah being put down into the ground. As a result of this, he didn't see the potential danger that came the amount of collateral damage that was being put on display. If any police worth either their job or donuts saw this scene, minus of course the two demigod esque monsters in human form, they would immediately want to know what the hell had happened. The current level of destruction could only mean a handful of things, some sort of skirmish between the hijacked Paladin prototype and a gang that had more firepower that they should of, a group of well trained vigilanties picking a fight with the Faunas terrorist group (which was actually what happened, plus the unplanned intervention of Kaiju on both sides), etc. none of which were good for maintaining domestic peace and safety. The borderline dismantlement of the Paladin that Zilla and Kiryu had done earlier had been pushing it, which had been crushed under a rather large piece of concrete that Xenilla had aimed at Ghidorah, leaving so little evidence that any investigation on the machine would've had a hard time that it even been the same one the White Fang had stolen. Xenilla on the other hand, due to the nature of how his telekinesis worked, didn't have that blessing.
The crystals he produced to help boost his power, while similar to dust in many ways, was very clearly their own unique property, and any confusion between the two would quickly disappear after a few moments under the microscope. So with each one he made, Xenilla essentially created a direct link to himself. It was part of the reason why he wanted to make a quick get away in the beginning, and even then, against an opponent as strong as Ghidorah was, he knew he couldn't take him on, much less defeat the gold oriented Kaiju, without more than a little help from his crystals. With the crystals giving him such a clear and almost unmistakable signature in his fights, he needed to leave with quickly if he wanted to maintain his secrecy from the authorities. Which he had originally planned on doing, but then the unstoppable bloodlust and urge to shove both of Ghidorah's soon to be severed arms down his currently singular human throat to watch him choke on them arose simultaneously. Both of which tend to drastically change plans when they arise in humans, turns out he was no different.
Speaking of which, Xenilla soon had enough of the momentary reprise that had been brought on by the brief status report on how much the two of them were in pain, and with a growl of anger Xenilla quickly shot his arm forward. The prideful smirk that Ghidorah was wearing was wiped away when he was covered by the green aura of Xenilla's power, and he felt the very air around him ram into his body with enough force to send him flying off of the ground. A grimace of pain warped the previously smirking face when Ghidorah was slammed through a pillar, a new layer of fine dust covering his gold oriented armor in the same way that he felt pain wrack his body, which quickly drew him out of his momentary stupor out of that Xenilla's sudden attack had put him in.
Before he could be thrown through another concrete pillar, Ghidorah sent another telepathic yell at Xenilla, which successfully managed to break his concentration enough to where he was able to free himself out off the green aura's grip. His two capes flared out as Ghidorah stopped himself in midair as the dust and debris from his recent association from the pillar flying passed him, which gave him an idea. Ghidorah reared his trident back with both hands, before tensing for just a second, and gave a mighty swing in the air, causing a massive gust of air around him which redirected the currently harmless pieces of concrete that were flying in the air straight at Xenilla. Clearly, Ghidorah felt the need of distributing some karma after being sick of having random pieces of stone and debris thrown at him, so was somewhat inspired for this particular attack.
Xenilla wasn't impressed however, as once he finished quickly recovering from the quickly becoming annoying telepathic screams in his head, he saw what Ghidorah was doing. In response, the air space between Ghidorah and Xenilla was quickly filled when a bright green blur flew through it, smashing and cutting any stones big enough to actually harm its master before it flew into Xenilla's outstretched hand, revealing itself once more to be his spear as the glow dispersed. At this point, Xenilla had decided that his leg had enough rest and healing, and ignoring the waves of pain that came in retaliation from the clearly not healed leg, jumped high into the air, aided by his telekinesis to allow him to fly much higher into the air, the green aura around his body intensifying as he did. Using his power of telekinesis, Xenilla flew through air as if he had wings in a similar fashioned to how he arrived on the scene in the first place, heading straight toward Ghidorah as he prepared his spear to slash him across his chest.
Grinding his teeth in mild frustration and annoyance at his failed attack along with the now flying Kaiju that was once more charging at him. Opting to meet him head on, Ghidorah's capes straightened as he entered a dive with the trident raised slightly above his head in preparation for his own attack. They met midway in the corresponding descent/ascent, sparks flying as the two Kaijus' weapons met in a fierce competition, but neither stood against the other for long, as both of the Kaiju flew past each other. They quickly turned around, both snarling at the other before they raced at each other once more, and other brief clash happened midway before they pulled back. Ghidorah's capes extended out widely as he flew back, trident crackling once more before it fired his signature Gravity Beam.
Xenilla, with neither the time or want to cancel it out with a Corona Beam, instead opted to dodge as he sidestepped(flew?) the golden electricity, letting it impact the bridge above him. A simply massive explosion of dust and debris signalled the immediate destruction of an entire section, causing large chunks of concrete to begin to fall as it began to collapse. Seeing this as an opportunity, Xenilla let a wave of green psionic energy emit from him that enveloped all of the falling pieces of concrete, which stopped as if time had been frozen, before Xenilla, with a yell of rage, flung his arm out at Ghidorah, directing his newly mad projectiles. Swearing under his breath, and very unpleased with the result of the attack, Ghidorah's capes almost seemed to flap as he rocketed back in an effort to avoid the seemingly sentient flying rocks that targeted him.
Moving wildly in several different types of evasive maneuvers, Ghidorah weaved through the surrounding pillars, flying through the area almost faster than the eye could see. Xenilla however, kept his sights locked onto his target, the green aura around him seemed to intensify as his arms and fingers moved, coordinating the meteoric assault on the Golden King of Terror. The same couldn't be said for Ghidorah, for during the chase, in between the different quick turns and narrow dodges of the green glowing pieces of debris chasing him, he had somehow lost sight of Xenilla. Ghidorah of course mentally scolded himself on the mistake, but he had to force himself to focus on the more pressing issue of the chase, both to avoid crashing into something due to carelessness and the many different green lit rocks from crashing into him.
As he rounded another pillar, Ghidorah's eyes went wide as the sight of one of Xenilla's Ghidorah seeking boulders filed his sight, and he barely had time to slash his trident through it in time to destroy it before it had slammed into him. The seconds it took to do this costed him though, as he had been slowed enough to where the closest one that had been chasing him slammed into his back, eliciting a surprised a yell of pain. Fortunately for him, due to his rather insane durability that gave even Godzilla a run for his money in taking a beating, the prospect of a giant piece of concrete the size of him slamming into him at instense speeds did little more than coat him in dust again and cause some brief, though intense, back pains. It did cause a bit of a problem though when he had been thrown off course because of it, allowing more of the Anti-Three Headed Golden Dragon Missiles, or ATHGDMs for short, to catch up to him intent on repeating the process.
Ghidorah on the other hand, even if it wouldn't be too harmful, wasn't very fond of that thought. Before the next of the rocks could collide with him, and his now slightly tenderized back, Ghidorah slashes his trident straight through it, destroying in a method similar to the first. His "wings" then flapped as another of the ATHGDMs flew passed him as lessened the distance between him and a still standing undamaged pillar that wasn't covered in more of those damned crystals. The idea being that it would make things easier on him, as having a wall to his back would cut off a large portion of the angles that Xenilla could send his rocks into him, at least temporarily. That didn't mean he could let his guard down though, as he had only protection from his back, not the front, his sides, or above and below him, meaning he still had a lot of work to do. Then there was the point that while these concrete pillars were sturdy and durable in their own right, they were ridiculously fragile in comparison to what the Kaiju were used to dealing with, it wouldn't take a lot of effort on Xenilla's behalf to destroy the cover and make it to where he could once more fully attack Ghidorah on all fronts.
His right pair of rubies seemed to gleam before Ghidorah was broken out of his thoughts as he snapped his head to his right at the sight of a green glowing boulder flying straight at him. Another slash of his trident made it to where there was one less of the pesky controlled meteors, and while it didn't anything help Xenilla, it did remind Ghidorah to focus on them. Which was good for him, as he spotted two more heading his way from both sides, the one of the right closer to him, intent clearly being some kind of one two punch combo to Ghidorah. Not in the mood to either take the hit or allow any of Xenilla's plans to work, especially when they had to do with winning against him, Ghidorah decided NOT to stay perfectly still in a t-pose until the two rocks collided against him. Instead, he reared his trident back before throwing it at the closer of the two boulders.
The throw didn't pack enough force behind it to destroy the rock, instead, the three heads of the trident impaled themselves into it, with the shaft sticking upward away from it at an angle as it continued its warpath toward Ghidorah. The capes flapped once more as Ghidorah reoriented himself in the air to be more horizontal as he threw his arms out the upcoming rock, seemingly looking like he was going to try to stop it with his bear hands. Instead, due to him reorienting himself, Ghidorah was now lined up perfectly to grab his angled trident first, and with a loud yell of effort, he began to rotate in the air, fighting against Xenilla's telekinetic pull on the boulder as he dragged it with him. The boulder found its intended path being change to instead travel in a circular arc around Ghidorah that failed to be completed before the second boulder arrived, aiming to slam itself into Ghidorah, but was instead intercepted by the impaled boulder that had been redirected onto the others collision course.
Ghidorah quickly returned to his original orientation to be right side up as another blur of green light to his left caught his attention before he could catch his breath, and the capes flapped once more as he moved closer to the pillar again, turning in the air so that his extended trident slashed through the boulder flew the space he was just occupying a moment ago. Once more, Ghidorah was left with little time to recover as he spotted two other boulders coming straight at him from the front. Teeth grinding in frustration, the capes once more gave a powerful flap as he quickly rose into the air to avoid the oncoming attacks. Xenilla, it seemed, was too slow to correct the course of the first boulder in reaction to Ghidorah's sudden increase in altitude, as it crashed straight into the pillar with enough force to break through the section of pillar completely, destroying itself in the process. The second one on the other hand gave a sharp turn as it chased after the rising form of Ghidorah.
Ghidorah, apparently bored of just simply slashing his trident through the boulders to destroy them, flipped in the air with a reared arm before delivering a powerful punch to completely destroy the projectile. Now with a moment to himself, as he found a small break in the waves of boulders, quickly found his blood red eyes searching the area around him for the intense green light that had been covering Xenilla throughout the fight, trying to find where he currently was. Clearly Xenilla could see him, the boulder strikes wouldn't be so accurate if he didn't, but he must of been hiding or have some kind of special angle on him due to Ghidorah being unable to find any sign of him. Luckily for the Golden King of Terror, he had a way of checking whether or not Xenilla was a the general area around him, and if he was, it was a convenient way to get rid of all the damn ATHGDMs around here. Ghidorah felt a certain kind of strain on his mind as he released a simply massive telepathic scream throughout the entirety of his effective range, a sphere of influence that was roughly a hundred foot in radius around him.
It was here that Ghidorah seemed to have a stroke of good luck hit him as less than a second after releasing the telepathic shout, a boulder slammed into the opposite side of the pillar that was behind him above him, seemingly falling victim to the forces of gravity now that Xenilla's focus on it had been broken. Ghidorah allowed himself to feel a certain amount of pride fill him for removing that incredibly annoying set of thorns in his back. Something wasn't right though. The boulder's impact zone… was too conveniently close to him for comfort, and that telepathic scream had really reached Xenilla, then why wasn't Ghidorah hearing the crashes of the other dozen or so of the other large rocks that Xenilla had under his control? Then there was the point of Ghidorah not detecting Xenilla with his telepathic wave.
It was around the time that Ghidorah realized that Xenilla was up to something that he saw the intense flash of orange in the still thick dust cloud from the crashed boulder, but it was already too late. The orange bolt of electricity turned sharply downward before crashing into the unprepared Ghidorah's chest, letting him feel the full force of the Corona Beam. Ghidorah felt both the air leave his lungs and himself cough up both blood and saliva at the impact before he was borderline launched downward and crashed into the concrete floor, leaving a huge Ghidorah shaped crater in it. Ghidorah groaned in pain as pulled himself at the him shaped hole in the ground, now found a certain difficulty in breathing due to his lungs working hard to recover the lost air and his chest armor badly bent and blackened due burning. Stabbing his trident into the ground to help get him to his knees, Ghidorah used his other arm to wipe away the small stream of blood that came from the corner of his mouth before a thought hit him "There were two boulders that hit that pillar hard enough to completely blow through it, both above and below… what is keeping the middle section of it in place?".
Eyes now going wide, Ghidorah's head snapped upward to indeed see a large part of the pillar that had just been behind him falling toward where he was currently crouched. With a large grunt of pain and effort, Ghidorah quickly forced his still momentarily recovering body into action as he rolled out of the way, pulling his trident with him. Landing in another crouch, Ghidorah blocked his eyes with his arms in addition to shutting them tight to avoid getting debris in them as almost a quarter of the support pillar slammed onto the ground he was just at, sending a wave of dust and small debris around it. It was when Ghidorah opened his that he saw the faint green light and he looked in its direction to see the still flying Xenilla, spear in hand and crystals lining the two pillars that were nearest to him, and just so happened to be just outside of Ghidorah's telepathic attack range.
Despite all of his power, King Ghidorah was helpless to stop the growl of anger and frustration that erupted from that back of his throat upon the realization his mistake. Xenilla probably didn't even realize that the telepathic shout had happened in the first place, but it didn't matter whether or not he knew that it happened. All that mattered was that the moment that boulder had hit the pillar at the moment he sent out his telepathic shout, he had let his guard down and had been too slow to put it back up in time. For this careless mistake of his, the universe saw fit to punish him, not only with a grievous wound that now adorned his chest and scared his armor, but by forcing him onto his knees in front of the levitating Xenilla, who was covered with the green lit aura so strong it was as if he was a star with the various floating debris around him were apart of his solar system.
Once more, a pair of the rubies that were adorned into the dragon heads of each shoulder seemed to gleam ominously, this time the left pair, and it took a good deal of will power for Ghidorah not to snap his head to his left, or even move his eyes in that direction. Still, whatever he saw through the red gems changed Ghidorah's growl into a chuckle as his grin returned full force before he got up off of his knees and onto his feet as he dusted himself off with one hand. Despite the distance between them, Ghidorah could almost swear that he could hear Xenilla's growl in frustration as he brushed himself off while the cocky smirk made its grand return. Ghidorah's free hand wiped itself across his left dragon headed shoulder guard, almost as if he was petting the snout of it, before he began to casually walk forward.
This time, there was no mistaking the fact that Xenilla growled in anger at how Ghidorah casually recovered from a direct hit from his Corona Beam. Of course, had his head been clearer from the, and his he wasn't completely blinded by rage, he would've figured out that from the sudden change in Ghidorah's behavior that had transpired in under a few seconds, that the Golden King of Terror probably had something planned or at least knew something he didn't. In his current state, however, rather than figure out that something was very clearly wrong with this, he was much more content with just simply telekinetically sending a few boulders flying straight at him instead. Ghidorah merely kept his grin and let the boulders crash into him rather than swinging his trident to destroy them. The pieces of concrete the size of an average person collided into Ghidorah at full speed, causing a thick smoke screen that grew with each impact, as each of the boulders impacted him with enough force to turn them completely into dust, blocking the golden armored monster in human form from view.
Ghidorah walked out of the wall of smoke less than a second later, only slightly more worse for wear after being hit by the boulders as the onslaught of attacks didn't even manage to break his stride, succeeding only in undoing Ghidorah's efforts to dust himself off earlier and causing his grin to grow larger as he swore he could hear the sound of Xenilla's teeth grinding together in growing frustration despite the distance. Feeling the need to amplify his efforts, with a flick of the wrist, Xenilla sent a large portion of the highway that Xenilla had ripped out, aiming to crush Ghidorah like he wanted to earlier, only now having no subtly about it once so ever. For some strange reason, Ghidorah thought that it was a bad idea to simply let the gigantic slab of highway and bridge that utterly dwarfed him in size hit him like he had with the mere person sized rocks a second beforehand. His trident briefly crackled in golden electricity as he aimed it at the middle of the green glowing segment of highway that flew at him before he fired off his signature Gravity Beam. The bolt of golden destructive energy tore straight through the center mass of the slab of concrete, almost cleanly cutting it into two halves.
With another large flap of the twin capes on his back, Ghidorah jumped into the air just high enough to go through the newly formed gap in between the split segments of roadway that used to be whole. Once through, Ghidorah twisted around in midair so that he now faced the two halves that he had just flown in between, he raised his trident as it began to to briefly crackle with energy once more. Less than a second later, two Gravity Beams were launched out of the side heads of the trident into the air. They both collided with a half of the bridge segment, and with two momentary flashes of light, both of the pieces of concrete were wiped from existence before Xenilla had a chance to bring them back around to attack Ghidorah again. Turning back around, Ghidorah landed back down onto the cold stone ground before resuming his causal walk as if nothing had even happened, his grin never leaving his face for an instant.
Feeling the anger and frustration rising with him, Xenilla decided to use the one thing he had that he knew for a fact that Ghidorah couldn't easily destroy or withstand, his spear. He reared the arm that held his spear back, aiming the tip of it directly at the center of Ghidorah's face, wanting nothing more than to permanently get rid of that damned grin of his. The aura around the spear intensified just before it was launched forward out of Xenilla's hand and into the aid, heading straight toward his target. Seeing the spear coming though, Ghidorah's grin didn't go away like Xenilla wanted, instead it did the opposite, it grew wider. Less than a second after the spear left his hand, Xenilla knew why, it was because his fate had suddenly been sealed.
Before Xenilla was even able to recover from his spear through, he barely saw out of the corner of his eye, a gray blur fly through the air toward him just before he heard a sharp cutting sound right next to both of his ears. The scream of pain that came out of his mouth was one of reflex, as it had occurred before he even processed the pain of both of his shoulder crystals being cut off before he had even blinked. With his two main sources of power now gone, the green aura that covered the area now began to disappear as the various pieces of debris that were suspended in midair now began to fall toward the ground. The aura around the still airborne spear also disappeared, signifying Xenilla's loss of control over it, because of this, when Ghidorah merely tilted his head enough to get it out of its way, the spear merely flew past him and impaled itself into the ground, rather than snap back around to stab him from behind like it would've before.
Xenilla's snapped his head up as he himself began to fall subject to gravity, trying to find out what had caused the loss of his shoulder crystals. His eyes widened when he found none other than Hokmuto, lacking any of his earlier injuries, hovering just above him glaring down at Xenilla, his the edges of his hooked blades covered in a white powder. In his rage fueled mind that had focused only on Ghidorah, he had completely forgotten about the EMP producing Kaiju, even though the effects of his presence were still felt in the form of a lack of an aura. Now it was coming back to majorly bite him in the ass with him being left almost powerless between both Hokmuto and the still present Ghidorah.
He didn't have time to ponder the implications of this though, as they instead chose to manifest before him in the form of Hokmuto, taking advantage of the shock and powerlessness of Xenilla, giving him a hard kick to the stomach. In addition to knocking the wind out of Xenilla, the kick forced gravity into overdrive as the force of the kick was added to its pull, causing Xenilla to begin falling much faster. The concrete cracked from the force of the fall, Xenilla wasn't able to hold in the gasp of pain as his unprotected back crashed against the hard floor, creating a small crater. Unfortunately for Xenilla, the pain wasn't done just yet, as barely a second after coming into contact with the ground, a heavy amount of pressure was suddenly slammed into his chest, causing the crater around him to deepen some more.
Grimacing from the pain, Xenilla looked up to see Hokmuto digging his knees into the downed Kaiju's chest, making it hard for him to breath, not to mention Hokmuto's dual hooked blades crossed against Xenilla's throat. "I have to say Xenilla, not bad." Ghidorah's voice rang out along with the sound of his golden armored boots clanging against the concrete ground before he came into Xenilla's vision from behind Hokmuto. Xenilla, still promptly livid about Ghidorah's earlier insult of his entire close family, attempted to get up to attack him once more despite his relative powerless state, but was stopped when he felt Hokmuto's blades pressing tighter against his throat as he glared down at him from behind his glasses, as if saying 'if you give me an excuse to do it, I will use it.". This just so happened to remind Xenilla how Hokmuto maybe still just a little bit angry over the whole leg breaking thing that happened earlier that night, so he begrudgingly stood down before this bad situation escalated to be worse.
"Had it not been for Hokmuto's intervention, our battle would've lasted a lot longer and you may of even defeated me." Ghidorah continued, clearly enjoying Xenilla on the ground before him, powerless, "Unfortunately for you though, I had an ally present to break our relative stalemate while you simply did not.". Xenilla at the moment had a long list of things he wanted to both say and do at that, but was forced to be content with just glaring up at the golden armored Kaiju with the blades pressing against his throat. "With your power, along with your earlier displays of intelligence before that whole rage episode of you, it really is a shame on your stance change when it comes to your brother." Ghidorah said as he came to a stop, stepping on Xenilla's hair, causing a small wince before the glaring continued.
"So I'm going to give you both one more chance and a choice." Ghidorah said, his voice going serious before he flipped his grip on his trident before he raised it to be just above Xenilla's head, the middle spear tip aimed right between his eyes, "If you join me right now, I'll let you go, and if you choose to stay loyal to your 'brother', you'll rewarded by not only being added to the list of his family that died for him, but you'll also get a chance to say sorry to those sons of yours you got killed.". Rather than paying attention to the immediate threats of death that took the shapes of Hokmuto's swords on his throat and the hovering trident of Ghidorah that was clearly going to impale his skull, Xenilla instead heavily intensified his glare. The word rage didn't even begin to describe the emotion of absolute hate and anger that began to flood his consciousness, once more wiping away every other emotion that was taking up residence, including any fear for his life and caution that he was having. It was in this raw emotion that Xenilla feel some of his power return to him despite the absence of his shoulder crystals as he also began to call in as much as he could from whatever crystals that were around that had survived so far, but it was also in this ungodly rage that he lost his common sense, as he decided to do something incredibly stupid for his situation.
"Two words." Xenilla practically spat out against Hokmuto's weight against his lungs, as he reached out with his mind to take hold of his spear with his telekinesis, causing a weak green aura to embrace the weapon. "Fuck' and 'you', in that exact order!" Xenilla growled out as he closed he flicked his wrist against the ground, causing the spear to spring into action. The blade cleaved straight through the cement it was embedded in as began to spin rapidly in the air as it flew, reminiscent of a helicopter's propeller blades as it flow through the air. Controlled through the green aura, the lethal weapon flew through the air toward its target, the intent being to either cut off the top half of Ghidorah's head or impale it on the spear, much like the King of Terror was intending to do to Xenilla with his trident.
The pair of rubies that made the eyes of the dragon head on Ghidroah's right shoulder, the one that faced the oncoming spear, gleamed with light once more, and his actual eyes blinked before widening surprise as he almost snapped his neck at the unexpected attack. Due to his surprise, he barely had more than a few seconds to act before the spearhead would've made contact with him, thought that would be an understatement of what would happen. Luckily for Ghidorah, he managed to react fast enough by grabbing the shaft of it the pole arm with his free arm, making it a point to get his own weapon in place above Xenilla's head rather than dodge. He barely stopped the flying weapon with barely an inch between the point of the spear and his face, his grip on it remaining tight as the green aura still covered it and it moved in ways comparable to an animal thrashing around in his hand as it tried to break free to complete its mission.
Despite the close meeting with death, Ghidorah's composure returned as soon as he realized just how little force its efforts to break free had. "Well I'll give you this Xenilla, your brother would be proud in how you inherited his stubbornness." Ghidorah said before he gave a loud telepathic shout, that caused Xenilla to be hit with a wave of mental pain spread throughout his consciousness, causing the desperately needed focus to break, making the the green aura around the spear to disappear and its movements to cease. Ghidorah, angled his wrist as he lowered his arm as he used this opportunity to inspect the make of the spear for the first time, quickly noticing how the spear was design had a space theme and the small crystal where the Corona Beam was fired. "This is quite the spear you have have her Xenilla, but it doesn't quite fit my style, so you don't have to worry about me stealing it." Ghidorah said as he finally looked back at the downed Kaiju, who was still glaring at him through the eyes that looked so much like his brother, "Maybe I'll give it to Godzilla next time I see him. After all, you're not going to be in the position to return it, and I'm sure he would love to have a reminder of his deceased brother!". With that, Ghidorah gave a sadistic smile as he raised his trident up a bit higher as he prepared to finish off the other extraterrestrial Kaiju, who continued his glaring, defiant to the end like his brother.
"Ghidorah…" Hokmuto said just before the Golden King of Terror was about to apply the finishing blow, breaking his silence and gaining the attention of the other two Kaiju present, "... I know I don't exactly have the right to after my earlier… mistake, but I'd like to make a request.". Ghidorah didn't lower the trident at all, but he did raise an eyebrow in interest at how serious Hokmuto's tone was. "...Go on." Ghidorah said after a moment of thought, though the tone was pretty exasperated as this would be the third time tonight he was stopped from killing someone. "If this asshole really is the brother of that bastard, and if you add in the fact that he broke my leg, then I think I have some good enough personal reasons to want to kill him myself." Hokmuto said after he carefully chose his words, the glare behind his glasses never letting up as he pressed the blades against Xenilla's throat more, causing some blood to come out. Despite his bloodlust currently raging as hard as it was, Ghidorah seemed to seriously consider the request, finding some amount of poetry to be had knowing Hokmuto's history when it came to the King of the Monsters. "Normally, I would say-" Ghidorah began, his arm that held the trident remained above Xenilla's skull, who was currently trying and to find that earlier boost of strength again to use his powers to escape, but they were both interrupted when something unexpected happened.
From out of nowhere, something crashed into Ghidorah's chest hard enough to make him stumble back several feet and dent he armor. Shock at the surprise attack filled all three of the Kaiju as all three sets of eyes snapped onto the object to see what it was, only for them to see a dark grey sword with a guard designed like maple leaf shaped spikes in a matching sheath that was letting out an Azure blue light that was getting stronger with each second. Confusion was the only thing that Ghidorah and Hokmuto could muster as the unfamiliar sword began to let out more and more of the light. Xenilla on the other hand, felt recognition at the sight of Reactor, and took advantage of Hokmuto's shock to grab the arms that were pressing the blades against his throat and throw them off. Hokmuto's shock prevented him from cutting his head off as soon as he felt Xenilla make a move, plus Xenilla had the clear advantage in physical strength, so he barely had a second to make a sound that sounded like a surprised yelp before he was thrown of Xenilla. Almost in sync with that, Reactor's light shone brightly for less than a second more before nuclear energy pulsed out of it in a sphere with it at the center.
Xenilla was the one who was the least affected by the Nuclear Pulse, having the knowledge of what was going to happen and having just enough time to block his face using his arms. Despite this, he was still sent skidding across the concrete ground from the force and was still afflicted by some minor burns. Hokmuto on the other hand, lacking the ability to cover himself in addition to being relatively light, plus being in the air somewhat thanks to Xenilla throwing him off, was sent flying out of sight for Xenilla. Ghidorah on the other hand, being one of the biggest and heaviest Kaiju of all, was sent flying, but since he had been thrown off balance by the initial sword throw, he had been thrown back several more feet. It didn't take Ghidorah long to recover though as he managed to land on his feet, despite being hit with a surprise two hit combo that would've knocked most down for good with the first his, which was good for him, as he would've been left unprepared for what came next had he not regained himself as fast as he did.
Reactor, no longer giving off as bright a light as before, began to fall to the ground after admitting the Nuclear Pulse, but it never managed to touch the cold concrete. As just as it started to lose its altitude, a blur came down from one of the bridges and grabbed the sword in the blink of an eye before it charged at the direction of Ghidorah. Managing to break out of the shock, Ghidorah gritted his teeth and managed to put his trident up just before Reactor, now unsheathed, slammed into the shaft with a tremendous amount of force that almost immediately forced him back a step as he locked eyes with his attacker. Eyes that were colored a flaming orange and were almost completely identical to the same ones that were glaring into a few seconds beforehand, and were filled with a burning rage that fit them, the same king of anger that Ghidorah remembered almost every time he saw them, only now more intense.
Godzilla, pressed down Reactor onto the trident with more force, causing Ghidorah to break out of his thoughts as he struggled to hold the blade back. The Monster King wasn't impressed though, as he pulled one hand off of the hilt and reeled it back in a tight fist. "Stay away from my brother!" Godzilla roared as he threw a punch that slipped underneath Ghidorah's guard and slammed into his old nemesis' face with enough force to send him flying off into one of the (no longer) surviving support pillars. Under the force of having Ghidorah crash into it, the pillar began to collapse in on itself, covering the Golden King of Terror in smoke and debris.
Godzilla's body relaxed as the blade fell to his side, his eyes locked onto where Ghidorah disappeared from sight. The Incarnation of Nuclear Armageddon knew that was not even close to enough to kill Ghidorah, or any other Kaiju for that matter, and it was only going to keep him pinned for a couple minutes at most. That wasn't his concern for the moment though, as Godzilla turned his back on the scene before he rushed off to go make sure Xenilla was alright.
Xenilla groaned as he attempted to get back onto his feet, his arms giving out their opposition to movement as he used them to push himself of the ground. Getting hit with a Nuclear Pulse was never a fun experience no matter the circumstance, the burns that stung along the length of his arms were a currently healing testament to that fact. That didn't stop him from being grateful that it had happened, far from it, because it it hadn't happened, he probably would've already been dead. Though that didn't stop him from wishing that his brother put just a bit less force into it as his arms gave protest at the weight that was put onto them, already sore enough from all they had been subjected to during the battle with Ghidorah that he had ignored.
"Xenilla! Are you alright?" Godzilla's voice filled with concern immediately caused Xenilla to look up to see his brother rushing toward him, Reactor sheathed once more and placed on his back. "Yeah I'm fine, nothing that I can't recover from…" Xenilla said as his brother grabbed his arm to help him up to his feet, putting the arm across his shoulders to help steady the wounded brother. Godzilla's fiery eyes quickly traveled over his brother, inspecting to make sure that there wasn't a major wound that wasn't healing correctly before he gave a relieved sigh at the fact that there wasn't anything bad enough to make him worry that wasn't already part way healed. "Not that I'm not relieved that you're here to save my ass, but why exactly are you doing he-Gck!" Xenilla managed to say before he felt his brother's fist collide with his stomach. It was nowhere near as hard as Godzilla usually hit when he punched someone, knowing that from experience, but a punch from Godzilla is still a fucking punch from Godzilla!
Xenilla's knees went weak at the blow as he felt like coughing up an earlier meal, the only reason he didn't fall back down to the ground was that Godzilla was still holding him up, but he managed to recover from it pretty fast. "What the hell was that for!?" Xenilla snarled at Godzilla as he wrapped an arm around his stomach to hold it, glaring at his brother who was ignored it as he briefly looked back at at the pile of rubble that hid Ghidorah away from sight. "That was for being an idiot." Godzilla said as he flicked Xenilla's forehead, seemingly trying to transmit what he said directly into his brother's brain through the contact, and it promptly caused Xenilla to raise his eyebrow in confusion after rubbing his forehead and giving him a look of annoyance. Godzilla saw the look that Xenilla was giving him before rolling his eyes in irritation at how his brother didn't already see what he was talking about, "I'm talking about the little lightshow you and Ghidorah were putting on right before I arrived.". Xenilla blinked in surprise at that, remembering what had happened during the earlier fight foggy at best as the memory was covered in a red haze of blind rage, but he could probably guess what Godzilla was about to scold him for, it wasn't the first time it had happened after all.
"I don't know what exactly happened before that caused you to lose it like that, but I have a guess. Ghidorah was prodding at you, and somehow in someway, he managed to insult either me or your sons, I don't know which and it caused you to go nuts." Godzilla said as he gave his brother a stern looked, to which Xenilla wasn't able to meet or answer him. Which only prompted Godzilla to let out a disappointed sigh, knowing he had pretty much hit the nail on the head with that, "We've talked about this Xenilla, you're smarter than me and that makes you all the more dangerous when you actually use it to your advantage. Not blatantly throw it away and did what I do in a fight, even if it gives you a power boost, it still leaves you vulnerable and easy to predict if you aren't careful.". Xenilla gave a grunt, the closest he could manage to a response. He never enjoyed these kinds of talks, and was thankful they were rare as it is. He knew though they were needed to solve a problem that had started when Xenilla had first looked back, and began to truly regret everything he had done.
Having regrets that didn't have to do with a bad defeat was something that was pretty new to Xenilla, only having been a thing in the recent four years, and he still didn't exactly know how to deal with them yet. Right now though, he was just glad that Godzilla had experience to share in that department and was willing to help him out despite their history, which was probably rockier than the entirety of Remnant. "...You know, you kind of made your own mistake." Xenilla said after a small moment of silence between the two brothers, which prompted Godzilla to raise his eyebrow, not knowing where his brother was going with this as Xenilla's tone was pretty vague, most likely on purpose. "When you call me an idiot just before saying that I'm smarter than you, that must mean you're pretty dumb." Xenilla said, a dumb grin on his face prompting Godzilla to give him a smack on the back of the head, before speaking in a serious tone, that was pretty obvious a mock one now, "Shut it you smartass.". "That's better." Xenilla said as he rubbed the back of his head.
There was a short moment of levity between the two brothers at, but it was cut short when Godzilla's gaze hardened when he saw movement coming from the pile of rocks Ghidorah was currently under. He looked back at his brother for a short second to make sure his wounds were healed properly now that his healing factor had a bit more time to do its job. When he saw that there wasn't a visible wound on him anymore that was going to prohibit Xenilla from standing anymore, he took Xenilla's arm off of his shoulders before walking forward a bt without saying a word. This behavior prompted a certain amount of confusion and concern to rise within Xenilla, but before he could say anything about it, Godzilla cut him off, "Xenilla, I want you to get out of here.". Xenilla raised an eyebrow at that, assuming that it was obvious that they had an opportunity to get away, and that they should take it while they could, "Ok? I'm assuming that you're going to keep Ghidorah and Hokmuto busy while I get away before making an escape yourself then?".
"No, I'm not leaving for awhile." Godzilla said as he kept looking straight at the pile of debris that was beginning to have more and more and more unstable with several rocks falling each second now, "There's something I need to ask Ghidorah about, and there's something I need you to do for me.". "...And that would be?" Xenilla said, starting to grow more worried at both how his brother was acting and upon noticing that Reactor was still letting off an azure blue light. It wasn't in the same way it was earlier when it had released the Nuclear Pulse though, it was now having a periodic dull glow rather than a strengthening pulse, a manner of glow that only occurred when Godzilla was about to go all out. Godzilla then finally spoke in an intense emotionless tone that sent chills down Xenilla's spine, "I need you to go find Kiryu. Then both of you have to make sure what I'm about to do doesn't cause more casualties than it has too.".
