At Theropod Kingdom, it was feeding time for the park's Tyrannosaurus. Three cow carcasses had been thrown into the enclosure. Whilst Zira, Claudandus, Terry and Gigas all ate at one. This time, Sue was eating with them; she was now on good enough terms with the main tyrannosaur family to eat with them. It seemed that Zira had fully accepted her as a part of her family. Furthermore, Terry was beginning to make moves towards courting her; after all, all the young tyrannosaurs were all nearing adolescence, with Sue being slightly older than the two males. If Sue mated with Terry, as was looking extremely likely, they would need to bring back another female as a mate for Gigas. But that would come in time.

Sharptooth, on the other hand, ate separately; he remained an outsider. By choice. His relationship with the main T-rex family was an uneasy truce; a truce which was maintained at feeding time. He tore into his cow carcass, not paying attention to the main T-rex family. For their part, they ignored him too. That was how it worked.

As Sharptooth tore into his cow carcass, he noticed that one of the humans watching him was erratic, nervous; something was making him jumpy. There was something about him that was not on the other two. Then he reminded himself that he did not particularly care for what went on in the humans' world and ignored them. He had food to eat.

Jack, Will and Yolanda watched the spectacle. All deep in thought. Jack and Yolanda were observing the dynamics in the group. Will, meanwhile, was pondering the events of the past week; ever since Cynthia had told him and Alice about what was going on, things had changed. He looked at his colleagues more nervously and was warier of them; everyone was potentially the enemy. Everyone could be out to get you. Even your friends.

"Will… Will… Will!" Will zoned back in to see Jack looking at him. Jack, confused, said, "Will? Will? You alright, mate?" Will smiled, turned to look at Jack and said, "Yeah; I'm fine. Nothing's bothering me; just watching the tyrannosaurs, that's all." Yolanda looked at him, eyes full of pained sympathy, "Are you sure? Because you know you can tell us anything, Will. We don't lie to each other."

That was the thing… he couldn't. Cynthia had said no-one could be trusted; when she'd basically press-ganged him and Alice into helping her. Will felt like he was in service to the mafia; if he said anything to anyone, there was a risk of death. Everyone was a potential plant, someone to be feared, someone who, if they knew a tiny bit more about you, might arrange a little "accident" for you in the Andrewsarchus pen. Even Yolanda, who'd been so helpful to him these past few weeks, was a potential plant.

Trust no-one.

He smiled awkwardly, "Nothing, nothing. I was just thinking about something, that's all."

Meanwhile, back in Pliocene Peru, the Mariner was headed into deeper waters, to find adult Megalodon. Drew had barely kept his eyes off the radar in the hours since they had left the shallows. Leon, concerned, walked up to his friend and said, "I know that look. The Drew fixated look." Drew turned back to his friend and said, "Nothing to worry about. Just a little… impatient, s'all. Anyway, what did you want to talk to me about?"

At this, Leon sighed, "Have you noticed that Alice has been acting really, really… weird lately?" Drew gave him a funny look and said, "Uh, no." Leon sighed, "She's been staring off into space, been acting really nervously when anyone tries to talk to her… I think we should talk to her. Find out what's going on". Drew shrugged, "Whatever Alice is worrying herself about doesn't really matter right now. We can think about what's going on with her when we're back at the park with some Megalodon. Eyes on the prize, Leon. Eyes on the prize."

As the hours wore on and the boat headed into deeper water, the sun began to sink into the sky, the clouds began to become more and more oppressive and the wind began to whip up. Eventually, wind and rain lashed the deck of the Mariner; it was as if the sky was raining its wrath down upon the sea. Drew was still standing in the crew room, looking at the radar.

Eventually, his patience paid off. "Yes!", Drew shouted, as Leon and Alice came running down the hall towards the radar. They saw Drew, grinning insanely, and pointing at the radar screen, where several large shapes were moving. Alice looked, confused at the images, "Wouldn't Megalodon be solitary? Like great whites." Drew smiled, "These aren't Megalodon; they're a pod of whales. Cetotherium, most likely. They're Megalodon's favoured prey item; we find them, we'll find Megalodon."

Leon looked outside, "Are you sure diving down is going to be such a good idea? The storm's getting pretty intense." Drew waved his hand "Nonsense; this will be a quick in-and-out thing. Alice, you're with me. Leon, stay on the Mariner; anything shows up, you radio us." Alice nodded and turned on her heel, ready to get her diving suit.

A few minutes later, Drew and Alice entered the water. Like they had done before, they took a cattle prod with them; whilst it couldn't really do much for Megalodon, it had symbolic importance. A small pod of about ten whales, from large adults to tiny calves, were swimming. Each was surprisingly small, about twenty feet long, and looked rather like the pygmy right whale. Alice looked at Drew and said, "How are we going to get this lot through the portal?" Drew said, "We're just going to wait a while, see if anything turns up…"

Suddenly, Leon's voice came up from the communicator, "Guys, the malestrom's getting pretty intense. Get this over with as quickly as you can; We're not in a bay this time, we're in the open sea." Drew responded, "I wouldn't imagine this'll take long; and, besides, we have enough air to last us a couple of hours. We'll contact you when we're one." Leon sighed, "The storm's not the worst part…" Suddenly, a dark grey shape, almost invisible in the darkness moved through the water. The Cetotherium went rigid and arranged themselves in a defensive circle. Drew and Alice looked at each other; something was coming. They looked out into the bay to see two Megalodon, giant versions of the juvenile they had seen in the shallows, swimming towards the pod. Drew smiled, "Showtime."
