I'll be getting my driver to write this for me. I want to keep a log of everything for now. Somehow, I can't stop thinking about what Jeremy said before Jinty came to our yard.
He says he's been seeing more and more diesels from the mainline. They either deliver goods or passengers, but they're never nice to us. They keep growling about we're out of date, and that we'll be out of use soon too.
I don't want to believe it, but I haven't heard from Will, or any of the other engines who usually come to see us. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I know any of them very well. I know I've seen a few, but not recently. Actually, I don't think I've seen many of them for a few weeks now.
I hope they're all alright.
On that subject, it's been about a few hours since Toad was brought back to the yard. He came alone, and he's been really quiet. I don't like what I think might've happened. He came back to the yard all dirty and bruised, I'd rather not think what might have caused all that.
But I'm really worried because of who brought him back too, that new diesel from Swindon; I've been calling him Boxy since I saw it. I don't like him, he never says anything, all he does is growl and honk at everyone.
I talked with Amy and Jeremy about what could have happened to Jinty, Amy seems to think Toad was brought back after Jinty jumped the track. But Jeremy pointed out that Jinty wouldn't do something like that.
I think he's right.
And more importantly than that, Toad won't speak to anyone either. I doubt a light crash would be enough to leave anyone so distraught, much less would Toad have been sent back here as a result.
Given what Manager said, Control never knew Jinty, or Toad were here.
So then why did Toad come back?
I plan to get some answers tonight. For now, I think I'm going to stay up and wait for Jinty to come get Toad. Riddles is anxious too; says he wants to wait with me too.
I like that about Riddles.
I hope Jinty does come back.
I hope everyone does.
