What better challenge to have our final four compete in? A Total Drama World Tour return where the goal is not to be last!
And before you ask, yes. I did reference The Cannonball Run with my chapter title.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Chris' recap: "Last time on Total Drama Everything 2, we led the finalists into a false sense of security by telling them they would stay at Hope's Peak Academy for a little R and R. They ate that up like they did the muffins. What they got instead was their forced participation in a psychotic killing game hosted by a psychotic teddy bear. They were told they had to kill one of their own and then get away with it in order to survive. That, of course, got everyone on edge, especially when they heard the screams of their distressed loved ones. Dark. When poor Ivy turned up dead in the greenhouse, the others were forced to solve the crime or they would all end up dead. Turns out, it was sweet Ruby who ended up spilling Ivy's blood (or whatever plants have instead of blood, I'm not a biologist), and she suffered 'The Grimm Reaper's Judgment' as a result. Luckily for her, Ivy, and everyone else, it all turned out to be a simulation that took place while they were all knocked unconscious. That didn't stop Ruby from being automatically eliminated for failing to conceal her actions, though. And I bet she's going to remember this challenge for a long time. Now Ivy, Yusei, Leo, and Gaz are going to face each other in a Total Drama return, and pull all the stops. Who will cross the finish line and be our final three? And who is done for good? All this and more, right here, on Total. Drama. Everything 2!"
*theme song*
They were supposed to start the first semifinal challenge right after getting back from Hope's Peak. That was the plan, as far as the final four knew.
Unfortunately, it didn't take much for that plan to get thrown out the window.
The first problem stemmed when the show's crew realized that, when they decided to blow up the plane, they forgot one little thing Chris was told by the producers: he wasn't allowed to let the plane get destroyed this time. One explosion was enough. But this?
As a result, Chris had to delay the challenge for a day so he could clear things up with the producers, maybe beg them to let him keep his job. Good thing he had good persuasion skills, or he would've lost that job.
Due to the delay, the competitors, Chris, Chef, the Warners, and the rest of the crew needed a place to sleep for the night. However, since the plane was destroyed, and the interdimensional portal was shut down, the best they could do was set up several tents and create a temporary camp for everyone within the barren wasteland. Only Chris was able to even sleep on a mattress - everyone else was provided a sleeping bag and lumpy pillow.
And that wasn't the end of it. That very night, the entire area was awoken by Chris' scream. Everyone watched as Chris was teleported to a hospital after a rather...interesting experience. It turned out that a large spider had been shoved into his butt. Though the one to blame was unknown, the competitors could've swore they heard Chris mutter "Deadpool" in fear. This delayed the next challenge even further while everyone waited for Chris to come back.
Needless to say, by the fourth morning after the last challenge, our competitors (all bored out of their minds) were starting to lose it themselves.
"How long does it take to recover from one spider up the butt?!" Gaz snapped out of the blue as they ate breakfast.
Her outburst startled the others. "At least we've been free from him for a bit," Yusei chimed in. "That's gotta count for something."
"Well I'm actually looking forward to when Chris comes back," Ivy stated.
"Why's that?" Leo asked.
"Because the sooner he comes back, the faster I can leave you all in my dust, claim the million, and rub it in Batman's stupid face. When I win, he can't say anything against it."
Leo rolled his eyes. "You're real sure of yourself, I'll give you that."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"At this point, you know what the most delicious thing would be?" Gaz asked in the ruined confessional. "Seeing Ivy go down in flames."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"Final four, homestretch," Leo stated. "The other three are going to be tough to beat, but I don't plan on going down without a fight. I'm going to do what I have to do at this point."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"I am super glad it's almost over," Yusei admitted. "After everything that's happened, I think I can absolutely handle anything at this point. I'm gonna win this for Lammy, for all my friends, and for finally putting this season behind me."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"These people are my competition?" Ivy asked, in faux disbelief. "One's a crybaby prince with daddy issues, another's only means of offense is a deck of cards, and then there's a goth who can't handle emotion. I'm amazed those three even lasted this long. I should just be given the check now, but I'll settle for personally crushing these people beneath my feet."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Soon, Yakko poked his head through the competitors' tent. "I got good-luck messages," he said excitedly. "And get this: you four sharing all of them this time!"
"That's new," Leo said as they grabbed the devices. Everyone sat down as they turned on the first one.

(A demon dragon with a black body, blue stripes, a teal underbelly, a brown withered skull with a scar poking out, piercing green eyes, cuffs on on all for legs, a tail with a mace and black and red wings with white stripes is sitting on a couch, a Nintendo switch controller in her claws. An Incineroar is sleeping on the other end of the couch like a normal cat.)
From behind the camera: Um, master? You are aware the camera is recording, correct?
Dragon: (Breathes fire in shock, waking up the Incineroar) S**T! No! Um, okay, let's get this started (Hastily sets the controller to the side while what looks like a ballerina robot comes on screen with the dragon and Incineroar). Hello competitors! My name is FireFlamerx9z, but you can just call me Fire. The Incineroar is called Shere Khan.
Shere Khan: Incina! (He flexes.)
Fire: And the animatronic is Ballora.
(Ballora curtsies.)
Fire: It's been a wild ride, huh? I won't get into it like Story, but I just wanted to say some stuff to all of you. To Leo, you've got a lot of your shoulders to win this, huh? Don't worry! I'm sure the Garon will come around once he sees all the allies you have gained for Nohr!
Ballora: AKA your friends.
Fire: To Gaz, can't say I'm shocked to see you here. You are one tough cookie! You are also one half of Brilliant Darkness, and I know you are planning to at least give a little money to the other half of it. To Yusei, you have definitely gone through the most this season! But you were able rise above it all! You are a fighter and you have this demon's respect. Now take home the money and make your friends and Lammy proud.
Shere Khan: Roar! (Translation: You got my respect too, kid! That's no easy feat!)
Fire: Lastly, To Ivy...what can I say? You are a dirty player, but unlike most, I can respect you in the way you played. But the villain will always fall. Just keep that in mind. Anyways that's all my thoughts! Good luck to all. (Walks off camera and Ballora and Shere Khan follow.)
Shere Khan: Roar! (Translation: Can we get the Story girl to give us Namora again?)
*end*
"So are all fans just going to be the ones to send us these?" Yusei asked.
"First is Story and whatever she's got at any moment, then NeverSafe and whatever a 'Stand' is, and now a giant dragon," Gaz listed. "I think so."
Ivy picked up the next device. "So what's the next one?"
She turned it on, and everyone leaned in to watch.
(Everyone's message, submitted by NeverSafeFromWaluigi)
(NeverSafe is on his knees with his hands together. His face practically screams, "Please forgive me".)
NeverSafe: I'm sorry, I'm sorry! When I suggested for them to go to Hope's Peak, I thought it was just gonna be normal! I thought you all were just gonna meet some of the Ultimates in there, have a biscuit, and leave! I didn't think Chris was actually gonna do a Killing Game! Now Ruby has to go through therapy!
(NeverSafe then mutters under his breath.)
NeverSafe: Though I should've known. Danganronpa is bloody scary.
(NeverSafe goes back to pleading.)
NeverSafe: Still though, I'm sorry!
(NeverSafe shakes his head and finally stands up.)
NeverSafe: Calm down man. You didn't know, they didn't know, nobody knew. Chris' just sadistic. And a copycat. But I might have to apologize for the next season. I may or may not of ask for a crazy hope man that's from the same series Monokuma was in. But, you guys, just hope that you get the Chuunibyou.
(NeverSafe finds that this is the perfect time to meme.)
NeverSafe: And hey, just be happy that I didn't ask for Sa-
(Unchained Melody ended the message before NeverSafe could finish the meme.)
*end*
"Wait, Ruby's in therapy?" Leo asked. "Guess the experience rattled her that much."
"She believed she had actually killed someone," Yusei reminded him. "Not to mention it's because she thought her friends were going to die otherwise, and then she got mauled by a bunch of Grimm. That would put anyone in therapy."
Ivy just scoffed at that remark and asked, "What about me? I was the one she 'killed'! Have you all forgotten that? Besides, when she kills someone, everyone forgives her. When I do it, I'm sent to Arkham Asylum!"
"It's also not a simulation when you do it," Gaz told her.
"And your point is?"
Leo shook his head and grabbed the last message device, turning it on.
(Everyone's message, submitted by NeverSafeFromWaluigi)
(A young man with light brown hair is shown standing in a office.)
?: I-Is it on? Thanks. Anyway... How to start... Oh, might as well just greet myself. Hi! My name is Makoto Neagi. I'm one of the survivors of the first Killing Game. I'm also called the Ultimate Lucky Student, and the Ultimate Hope. Silly names, I know.
(Makoto looks at the ground, in disappointment.)
Makoto: And I just wanted to say... I'm sorry. When Chris first approached us and asked us for our memories of that incident, we didn't know. We didn't know you would be put in such a traumatic experience. Had we known, we would've said no.
Makoto: Looking at the TV, watching the simulation... It brought back terrible memories. Memories that I never want to experience again. And I heavily apologize for making you experience those memories. If there's anyway to fix those mistakes, please let me know. I will try my hardest to make it up to you.
(Makoto looked back at the camera, smiling.)
Makoto: But, I do hope you'll allow us to meet you in the end of the season. I really want to meet you all. You all seem like splendid people. Except Ivy, of course.
*end*
"Well forget you too!" Ivy exclaimed. "I'm totally splendid. I mean, look at me!"
"I wouldn't mind meeting this guy," Yusei said. "He seems cool."
Gaz shrugged and said, "Though I bet he went through therapy too," she said. "This guy didn't go through a simulation. He went through the real deal. And he survived the whole thing, from the way he's making it sound like."
"Compared to him and the others, what we went through was nothing," Leo said. "They lived through the actual experience. I officially have respect for them."
"I just hope this 'Makoto' guy realizes I am perfectly splendid," Ivy stated.
Just then, Dot's head popped into the tent. "You guys ready to win a million dollars?" she asked.
"Please tell me he's back," Ivy demanded. "He's back, right? He better be."
"Sheesh, demanding much? Follow me, guys."
Dot led the competitors out of the tent and through the cluster of similar-looking tents until the got to a large mass of wreckage. The plane they had traveled in throughout the whole season.
Then they all looked to their left and saw Chris approaching them. Apparently, he had made a full recovery.
"Did you miss me, competitors?" he asked in that familiar menacing delight.
"No," Leo deadpanned.
That made Chris drop the cheery face. "Very funny."
"How are you feeling?" Ivy asked, before snickering and quietly muttering, "Spiderbutt".
That didn't improve Chris' mood one bit. "Better. Thanks for the concern."
Of course, the "Spiderbutt" remark had Yusei and Leo trying not to laugh, while even Gaz looked a little amused.
"Are we going to spend all day making fun of me, or are we going to get to the challenge?"
Hearing this, everyone stopped.
"Anyway, I give my congrats to the four of you for making it this far in the game," Chris congratulated. "Out of the twenty-two competitors that started the season, eighteen have fallen from grace. Now you four are all that's left, and the million dollars is within your grasp."
The competitors all gave a whoop of excitement. "Just give us the challenge," Leo said. "We're ready for it."
"Never thought you guys would be this enthusiastic. Guess I might as well oblige. First things first, think fast!"
Four electronic devices were thrown to competitors, who each caught on. Upon closer examination, everyone figured out the device was a GPS. He also threw everyone a walkie-talkie.
"Right now, you are actually in the same location as the (second) final four challenge from World Tour," Chris explained. "In other words, you're in Alberta, Canada. Can you guys figure out the rest?"
Gaz raised her hand. "Are you rehashing the race?" she asked, a little annoyed.
"Yes, I am."
"You have officially lost all sense of originality," Leo told him.
Rolling his eyes, Chris continued, "Anyway, the rules are simple. All of you are going to race against each other in a cross-country dash. All you have to do is make your way south from here, all the way to Tijuana Beach in Mexico. There, several speed boats will be waiting, one for each racer. Your destination? Hawaii. Where else?"
The competitors glanced at each other.
"You guys are allowed to get to Tijuana with whatever you have at your disposal," Chris said. "We don't care what you use. The only limit you have is your imagination. But you MUST use the speed boats for getting to Hawaii."
"Sound like fun," Leo said.
Chris nodded. "This time, however, we have made some changes to the rules."
"Such as?" Yusei asked, curious.
"Last time, since there were three racers, the first two to arrive at Hawaii were supposed to be the final two, and the last place racer would be out. But since there are four of you, that has changed a bit."
Leo raised his eyebrows. "How so?"
"Simple. The first person overall to make it to the finish line in Hawaii will not only gain the first spot in the final three, but they will also automatically become one of the final TWO!"
Everyone gasped.
"Those who come in second and third place will fill out the rest of the final three, and those two will have to battle it out for the last spot in the final two. And the one who comes in last place, their journey will end, and their dreams of winning the million will end with it."
The competitors glanced at each other again. This time, it wasn't enough just to not come in last place. Coming in first would mean a major advantage.
"As a start, there are four trucks waiting to take you out of this dump and to the nearest town," Chris finished. "After that, you're all on your own. You're also allowed to use anything you can get from the wreckage of the plane. Any questions?"
The Warner siblings, standing next to the competitors, all raised their hands.
"No questions? Nice."
He whistled for the red helicopter hovering above the group to come down. Once it was low enough, Chris and the Warners climbed on. Soon, the helicopter was back in the air, and Chris looked at the group, still standing there.
"You guys know you can go now, right?" he hollered from the air.
That snapped everyone out of their hesitation, and everyone ran in separate directions. Yusei and Ivy went to the plane to grab whatever they could find, while Gaz and Leo just went straight to their designated trucks.
It was on.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"This almost reminds me of Thelma and Louise," Leo stated. "Only no one's pairing up, and I doubt anyone will die."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"Dang it," Yusei said as he searched the wreckage. "No phone."
Ivy was searching too, until she realized she might not have needed to. After all, she could control plant life.
Right away, she ran over to the trucks and got on one. Without any trees out here, she would have to make do for now. Noticing her head off, Yusei gave up the search, silently cursing Ivy, and ran to the last truck. He would have to find a phone somewhere else. After all, he already had what could make the race a lock for him. He just needed a way to access it.
(Later…)
Since Leo and Gaz had the head start, they were the first to arrive in that town Chris mentioned. Upon getting off the trucks (which promptly left them behind right after), they began looking around. Right away, Leo spotted what he hoped was a reliable method of transportation: a long-distance bus, currently picking up people.
Leo ran to the bus and got there in time, right before the bus driver was about to close the doors. "Hey, do you think you can get me all the way to Tijuana Beach in Mexico?" he asked.
In response, the bus driver just laughed and said, "Sorry, but I only go across the U.S./Canada border," he said.
Sighing, Leo looked frustrated. It was time to play the Royalty Card.
"Sir, you may not believe this, but I am the prince of a kingdom you likely never heard of unless you play video games. This kingdom is called Nohr. I am also currently competing in a competition for a million dollars at the point, which my father really wants me to win. As in, I may be disowned if I don't. So get me to Tijuana Beach as fast as this bus can go, and Nohr will be in your debt. I'll see to it you're generously rewarded."
The driver sat in disbelief for a few seconds. "Wait, aren't you one of those guys on Total Drama Everything 2? I love that show."
Leo nodded. "Yes, I am."
Right away, the driver turned to the passengers on the bus. "All of you, out. You're gonna have to find another bus, because this one's busy."
The passengers all got out of the bus in single file, all giving Leo dirty glares. Once they were off, the driver looked at Leo again. "Hop in."
"Thank you, sir. Now, as fast as possible, please."
Hearing those words, the driver put the pedal to the medal and zoomed off, so fast that Leo had to hold on to the safety bar.
Meanwhile, Gaz had found her own method of transportation: she found a phone. "Listen, Zim. I need to borrow your spaceship… Does it matter why I need it? Get it to me right away or else!... Yeah, that's what I thought."
Just a few seconds later, Zim's spaceship zoomed right in front of her, and she quickly got on and flew towards her destination.
Seeing all this, Chris looks at everyone's positions from the air.
"Looks like Leo's in the lead, and Gaz is not far behind. Ivy's approaching the town now, but Yusei appears to have fallen behind."
(Meanwhile…)
In fact, Ivy has indeed reached the town. Once she got off, she immediately spotted a large tree. "Perfect," she said as she ran to it and climbed it. Just a few seconds later, the tree came to life in more ways than one. Its giant roots suddenly became legs, and it even grew a face.
"Alright, buddy. I need you to get me to Tijuana Beach in Mexico as fast as you can," she told the tree. "I'm in a competition for a million dollars, and I intend on winning it. So snap to it!"
Obediently, the large tree (I know people are going to insist I call it an ent, but I'm just gonna call it a tree) began heading south, to Ivy's supposed victory.
Finally, Yusei arrived at the town. He knew he was in last at the moment, but he also had the very thing he needed to catch up. First, he had to borrow a phone.
"Come on, pick up…. Yay. Jack, it's me… There's something I need you to do… Well, I'm currently racing to Hawaii, and in order to get there in time, I need that 'thing'... Yes, that thing… Okay, I'll be waiting…"
(Later…)
Leo was sitting in the bus, tapping his foot and reading a book. He looked at the camera.
"No confessional, I guess. Well, I have no idea where the others are yet. I know Gaz wasn't too far behind me, but Ivy and Yusei are a different story. I'm just hoping I can get to the finish line first."
By this point, the bus was in the northern half of the United States. Leo had no idea which state he was in though - having lived in a different world altogether, he had never even heard of the U.S. before the show.
He tried getting back to his book, but then he heard something strange outside. So he went to look out the window and…
"Gaz?"
Sure enough, Gaz was in the sky, driving Zim's spaceship. "Hi, Leo!"
"How the heck were you able to get that?"
"I know people. Chris did say we could use whatever we want."
Leo couldn't argue with that. Then his walkie-talkie and he answered it. "Hello? Who is this?"
"Oh, it's just me. The girl who's gonna take you all down!"
"What makes you say that, Ivy?" Gaz asked, having also answered.
"Just that I'm riding a giant tree!"
"Dang it!" Leo exclaimed. "I could've done that too!"
"How? I'm the one that can control plants!"
"Well I have a tome that lets me control earth AND nature!"
Hearing the argument back and forth, Gaz snapped, "Quit it! You two are making me want to crash on purpose!"
"Well, you might as well," Ivy answered. "Because I'm the one that will reach Hawaii before any of you!"
Then they all heard another, familiar voice chime in through the walkie talkies. "Are you sure about that?"
"Wait, was that Yusei?" Gaz asked in disbelief.
Ivy just snorted. "Okay, what makes you think you can reach it when you were far behind the rest of us?"
Just then, everyone heard the familiar sound of a certain engine, not a very common engine, come through the line. They then noticed they were also hearing the sound nearby, so they looked and saw a glint of red getting closer.
"Oh, crap," Leo, Ivy, and Gaz all said at the same time.
Sure enough, Yusei was catching up. And he had brought out the big guns: his Duel Runner!
"Just a feeling," Yusei said through the walkie talkie as he came up next to Ivy, answering her question. Now all four competitors could see each other and their racing methods.
"You have got to be kidding me," Gaz said.
"Hey, Chris did say we could use whatever we wanted," Leo reminded her.
"Shut up."
Now there was a bus, a small spaceship, a motorcycle, and a tree racing to Tijuana Beach. Chris watched it all unfold on the monitors on board the helicopter.
"Yusei brought out the trump card," he said excitedly. "We got a true race now!"
Back down below, Leo ran to the bus driver. "Can you go faster?" he asked.
"Hey, why not?" The driver floored it, and Leo was thrown back into his seat.
Seeing the bus getting faster from a distance, Ivy encouraged the tree to go faster, and Yusei and Gaz sped up their own vehicles. All four of them wanted to keep an eye on each other to make sure their opponents didn't take the lead.
This went on for awhile, until it began to rain.
"Oh, perfect," Ivy said, now soaked. "I had just fixed my hair too."
The only ones no affected by the rain were Leo and Gaz, since they were in enclosed vehicles. The best Yusei had was his helmet, which at least kept his head from suffering the same fate as Ivy.
"We get it, Mother Nature," Yusei griped. "You can cut it out now."
"A bus, a motorcycle, a UFO, a tree, and the rain," Chris said through the walkie-talkies. "This is officially one crazy competition. But I just feel like something's missing."
"Which is?" Leo asked.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
"Oh, just that."
Chris then had to push his walkie talkie away from him, since the protests were that loud and violent. "Maybe I deserved that, but whatever. Just start singing."
(Author's Note: People are probably hoping or wondering if I would do a remake of the song from the final three episode in TDWT. You know what? That's exactly what I'm gonna do, since I'm a huge copycat. So without further ado, here's "I'm Gonna Make It - TheMasterKat Edition".)
(Ivy looks at the three competitors' locations, Yusei being the closest to her, and smiles.)
Ivy: My good ol' tree is taking me
On the path to victory
This competition will not stop
Until I make it to the top
Yusei: It's gonna be a bummer
When you're left behind by my runner
Wish I didn't have to, but I must
Time to leave you all in my dust
(He gives his engine some gas and moves in front of Ivy.)
Both: I'm gonna make it!
They can't stop me now
Let them try!
My fortune's waiting!
It's time those guys all said
Bye, bye, bye!
(Leo looks out a window at Gaz's ship.)
Leo: Well I guess it can't be helped
Cannot win this with just stealth
Got too much riding on this
This one shot, I cannot miss
Gaz: Not gonna say it's fun
But the winner must be someone
Just the way that it must be
And that someone will be me
(The bus and spaceship continue as fast as possible.)
Both: I'm gonna make it!
They can't stop me now
Let them try!
My fortune's waiting!
And they can kiss it all
Bye, bye, bye!
(Ivy catches up to the runner.)
Ivy and Yusei: This is insane
I will not just give in
Never has it been this strong
My drive to win!
Leo and Gaz: Here we go
I'm not gonna back down
You all might as well quit
Right here, right now
Ivy: As if!
Yusei: Not a chance!
Gaz: Can't give up that easily.
Leo: I'm no quitter.
(A four-way split screen shows all four with determined smirks.)
All: I'm gonna make it!
You guys can't stop me now
Just you try!
My fortune's waiting!
Time for all of you to say
Bye, bye, bye!
…
The song ended, and all four of them raced on towards their destination.
(Later…)
Still pretty much neck and neck, the competitors all reached the border into Mexico, but it wasn't long after this that someone ran out of gas.
Gaz (pun intended) lowered the ship into the ground, pounding at her fist at the fuel meter, the meter right at EMPTY.
"Darn it, Zim!" she exclaimed. "When was the last time you filled this thing?!"
Stepping out of the ship (while cursing Zim), she looked around for another ride, or at least some fuel, though she had no idea what kind of fuel the ship took.
"Think, Gaz. There's got to be a way to get to that beach."
Looking to her left, she noticed her answer: a bicycle repair shop. She ran to the shopkeeper, who was washing his hands outside.
"Is there any bike you would be willing to give away for free?" she asked. "I'm in a race for a million dollars, and this is important."
The shopkeeper nodded, "Of course," he said (Gaz was lucky the man understood English), and he pointed at a beat down but serviceable bike leaning against the wall.
"Oh, gracias!" Gaz exclaimed as she got on the bike and cycled away, deciding right off the bat that Zim could worry himself about where to find the ship.
(Meanwhile…)
Leo himself had also hit a roadblock (pun intended).
"To be fair, these were old tires to begin with," the bus driver said, searching the bus for a spare tire to replace the currently ruined one.
"You do have a spare, right?" Leo asked, a little agitated.
"Chill out, I'm looking."
Leo could only accept that. He certainly did not want to come in last.
All this was being watched by Chris on the helicopter. "Sheesh, talk about bad luck," he said. "I hope this doesn't hurt Leo's chances of winning."
Even as he said this, Gaz passed Leo on her bike. "Let me guess, flat tire?" she asked.
"Yep."
"Don't know what to tell you. Hang in there."
As Gaz pedaled away, all Leo had to say was, "Where did that ship go?"
(Meanwhile…)
"Okay, you stupid tree," Ivy said. "I didn't turn you into an actual ent just so you could take a break."
Ivy's tree was apparently tired, and it was now sitting on the side of the road, fast asleep. And since they were in the desert at the moment, Ivy didn't see any other trees anywhere.
"You're not even listening to me, aren't you?" she asked. "Come on, get up!"
She kicked the tree hard in its trunk. In response, one of the branches picked her up and flung her far into the distance.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
She finally landed, skipping a few times for skidding twenty feet and coming to a complete stop. Getting up, she brushed herself off and yelled in the direction she was thrown from.
"YOU ARE THE WORST METHOD OF TRANSPORTATION EVER!"
Luckily for her, while there weren't any trees nearby, she did see a large cactus. Once again, she used her powers and the cactus came to life, removing itself from its spot.
"First things first," Ivy said, this time using her powers to remove every single thorn and needle on the cactus.
"That's better. Now, to Tijuana Beach."
She got onto the cactus, and they set off on their way.
(Later…)
Yusei smiled as Tijuana Beach grew in his line of sight. "Jackpot," he said, giving his bike a bit more speed. He was excited, for he was one step closer to winning the race.
Once he reached the beach, he searched around until he spotted a flag bearing the TDE2 logo. Next to the flag were four speedboats. Quickly, Yusei stopped the bike and began rolling it to one of the boats, managing to get it there despite the sand slowing him down.
Next, he found some rope and tied the runner onto the boat so it wouldn't fall off. Hey, he wasn't going to let anything happen to that bike. Once said bike was secure, he started the engine on the boat and set off, hoping for sure victory.
However, there was a problem.
Due to the extra weight of the runner, the boat's top speed had plummeted by more than half. Yusei facepalmed and tried to give more gas to the boat's engine.
"Come on, please don't do this to me. My runner's not that even heavy."
It was futile, and Yusei had to settle for the reduced speed. He hoped the others were too far back to catch up.
(Later…)
"How about that?" Chris asked. "Even for the huge lead Yusei had once he got to the beach, Yusei is steadily losing that lead. In fact, the others are already arriving."
Gaz threw her bike to the side and got on one of the boats. "Here we go," she said, starting the engine and speeding across the ocean at twice the speed Yusei had managed.
Ivy arrived next, jumping off her cactus and getting on the next boat. Not too far behind was Leo, who sighed at the frustration of currently being in last place and set off on the last boat.
Now all four were heading for Hawaii as fast as they could, or in one case, as fast as they could while having a five-hundred pound (just my estimate) multipurpose motorcycle onboard.
"Come on," Yusei urged the boat, trying to get it to go faster, though trying to give the engine more gas seemed to almost overwork it. "Couldn't Chris have provided stronger engines for these things?"
On the helicopter, Chris shrugged. "That would be too easy. If he makes it there first in the situation he's in, it's just proof he ultimately deserves the win. And I like to see these guys earn their victories."
"Or you wanna torture them," Chef said.
"That too."
(Meanwhile…)
Ivy had caught up to Gaz, and now they were trying to ram each other with their boats.
"Is that all you got?" Ivy called. "Because you didn't even scratch the hull!"
"Well I'm gonna do more than just scratch it!"
Close behind, Leo could see this fight going on, and he decided to ignore it while trying to find a way around both girls. After all, he had common sense.
At one point, Gaz moved close to Ivy's boat, then she quickly turned away, using the wake to splash Ivy and soak her.
"You little! Thanks for ruining my hair!"
"You're welcome!" Gaz called cheekily.
Unable to get around the feuding girls, Leo knew the race had finally gotten dirty.
(Later…)
Soon, the girls and Leo had reached the midpoint in the water portion of the race, where they spotted a surprising sight: Yusei's boat had stalled, the engine smoking, and he was trying to kick it to make it go again.
"Holy cow," Gaz called. "I almost thought you had already made it."
"Shut up!"
Yusei watched as his lead disappeared entirely and the three others pulled again. In frustration, he kicked the engine again, but this time he ended up knocking it into the ocean.
"Oops," Yusei muttered as he watched the engine sink. "This isn't good."
He started pacing the deck. If he wanted to reach the Final Three, he would have to think of something fast.
Wait a minute…
Something fast…
In a stroke of inspiration, Yusei looked at the Duel Runner.
(On the helicopter…)
"With one competitor stuck, we have just Leo, Ivy, and Gaz heading for the finish line," Chris said, using his binoculars. "Can Yusei come back from this?"
(Back in the race…)
Now that the midpoint had been reach, Leo and the girls now faced a new obstacle: the ocean surface was dotted with mines.
"Why am I not surprised?" Leo asked, trying to steer away from every mine he saw. "Chris is one sick guy."
The girls were still at it, however. "How does it feel knowing I'm gonna be in the Final Two?" Ivy asked. "Heck, how does it feel knowing I'm gonna win this?"
"Yeah, just keep talking."
So the two girls kept bickering at each other and trying to get the other to screw up, while Leo just tried dodging every mine he could.
Soon, all three of them were approaching the homestretch: the Hawaiian beach was fast approaching. Standing on the beach were Chris, Chef, the Warners, and all of the TDE and TDE2 competitors.
"I think I see someone coming," Ruby said, pointing into the distance.
"Not just someone," Toph said. "I can hear them both from here."
Indeed, they could both see Ivy and Gaz approaching the finish line, still feuding.
"Don't those two know how not to fight like that?" Nom Nom asked.
"Look who's talking," Zelda said.
"She has a point," Snake pointed out.
Back on the boats, Ivy and Gaz saw the beach, and they both glared at each other. "This race is mine!" Ivy exclaimed.
"It's gonna be close," Double D said, watching anxiously.
Ivy looked around. She needed some sort of jump if she wanted to pull ahead of Gaz. Then, to her right, she spotted a rock sticking out of the water, its shape coincidentally similar to a ramp. Grinning, she steered to the right, much to Gaz's shock.
"What the heck is she doing?" she asked.
Using as much speed as she could, Ivy launched herself right off the rock, soaring over the water, over all the mines, and over Ivy's head. Her flight lasted about five seconds, until she finally crashed right on the beach and on the girls' bathroom.
Right after, Deadpool stepped out of the boys' bathroom (toilet paper stuck to his foot) and walked back to the group, either not aware or not caring (likely the latter) that he would've been flattened had he been five feet to his left.
Ivy climbed out of the wreckage, covered in toilet paper, and walked over to Chris. "Boom, I won. Final Two spot is mine!"
"I'll applaud the finish, that's for sure," Chris said, clapping.
Right then, Gaz disembarked and climbed onto shore, absolutely livid. "Of course, Ivy come up with that idea."
"Bitter, huh?" the host asked. "Well, Ivy has won the race, the first spot on the Final Three, and a guaranteed spot in the Final Two. Gaz is now in the Final Three, but must now face either Leo or Yusei for the second Final Two spot. But before that's settled, we have a race to finish."
Ivy and Gaz went to sit with the group, Gaz still fuming, and she wasn't the only one. Nearly everyone in the group didn't even bother to show their displeasure.
"How did I know that jerk was gonna win?" Mandy asked, probably more livid than anyone else.
"I'm not happy either," Superman said.
Deadpool looked at the camera. "That guy said he wasn't happy. Think about that, readers."
"Well, there is but one more spot in the Final Three," Chris announced. "And either Leo or Yusei will be the one to claim it. Who's gonna get it? I have no idea, but Julie and Lammy seem to be filled with anxiety over this one."
Sure enough, Julie and Lammy were looking into the distance, waiting to see which of their boyfriends would win.
"Another boat, incoming," Sonic called.
Leo's boat was approaching the beach, and his heart soared. He was getting closer.
Once she was sure it was Leo's boat approaching the Finish Line, Julie started cheering, while Lammy looked even more anxious.
"Come on, Yusei," Lammy muttered.
Then, as Leo got closer, he heard, for some strange reason, the sound of Yusei's Duel Runner coming towards him. But how? Yusei couldn't drive it on water, and besides, he should've been too far back to catch up.
Curious, Leo looked behind him, and his jaw dropped. "You have got to be kidding me."
Yusei had managed to get the boat started using the runner's engine, and it was now going even faster than the boats before.
"No way!" Leo cried. "Is there anything you can't do with a wrench?"
"Not really!"
Back on shore, the crowd was surprised too. "That little mechanic nerd," Nom Nom said in awe. "I have officially never been so proud to be this guy's rival."
Lammy began cheering. "Go Yusei! You got this!"
Leo shook his head and started speeding up as much as possible. He was still ahead, and he knew if he could just go at top speed, he could win. So he sped up past the boat's limit while Yusei hurtled closer to him.
"Hey, five bucks on who makes it?" Lammy asked Julie.
"You're on."
They watched as the boats got closer and closer, the gap between them getting smaller and smaller.
However, with no warning whatsoever, Leo's boat suddenly stopped. He looked and the fuel meter was running on empty.
"No, not now!"
He kicked the boat a little, then grabbed one of the oars that lay on the deck. Quickly, he started to paddle, having to use every bit of strength he had to move it forward.
"Oh, and Leo's boat has stalled," Chris said. "It looks like Yusei has this one in the bag."
Leo only had fifty feet of water left to cross, but there was no way he would be able to cross it in time before Yusei would cross, and Yusei was about to pass him.
"Don't give up, Leo!" Julie cried.
Leo kept paddling, though it seemed futile. And Yusei was just a few feet behind him now.
"Guess you got it," Leo said via the walkie-talkie.
"Maybe. But it was a good race in the end."
Then…
BOOM!
Yusei was just five feet away from Leo and about to pass him when he suddenly crashed right into a mine, unable to dodge in time due to his speed. The blast from the mine sent Yusei's boat flying backwards several feet.
"WHOAAAAAA!"
The same explosion from the mine started a few small waves, which suddenly provided Leo the boost he needed, as those waves propelled him those few remaining feet to the finish line.
SPLASH!
Yusei's boat landed with a big belly flop on the water, several feet behind were the mine was. The boat itself was damaged, and the blast had damaged the runner as well. As for Yusei, he clung to the edge, disoriented.
"What the heck just happened?" he asked, seeing stars and mini Deadpools circling over his head.
Leo got off his own boat and onto the sand, where he spotted this very sight. Then the truth came to him.
"Wait, did I win?"
"And just like that, Leo has done it!" Chris announced. "In one heck of a finish, Leo has beaten Yusei and secured the last spot in the Final Three!"
Everyone cheered, and Leo smiled, while a dejected Lammy handed Julie five dollars. After that, Julie ran up to Leo and hugged him. Yusei saw this from his now-ruined boat and sat down, defeated and exhausted.
Next, a tugboat was sent to tow Yusei and his boat to shore, while he inspected the damage done to the Duel Runner, which he rolled onto the beach.
"Sheesh, I paid a lot for these boats," Chris grumbled. "Anyway, that's that. Yusei, I gotta say, you went through a lot more in the competition than I would've thought someone would, even for a game like this. Despite that, you fought through all of it to make it as far as you did. And right to the very end, you were giving everything you had to stay. However, it just wasn't enough to make it to the Final Three, and you came up short in the end. Sorry Yusei, but the competition ends here for you. You're out. But on the bright side, you went out with a bang."
Yusei shrugged. "Literally. I'll take fourth place. I'm proud of that."
Gaz gave him a high five. "Good game, dude." Then Leo shook his hand. "You played well, my friend."
Ivy just rolled her eyes.
Then Yusei went over to where the others stood. "Room for one more?"
Everyone patted his back as he sat next to Lammy, who promptly punched him in the arm.
"Hey, what was that for?"
"You owe me five dollars, that's what."
"Bet with Julie?"
"Yep."
"Sorry I didn't win."
"For what it's worth, winning this is not all it's cracked up to be. I should know."
"Oh ha ha."
The two shared a light kiss, then looked at Chris and the competitors.
"Okay, with the race finished, we officially have our Final Three: Ivy, Gaz, and Leo!"
The three looked at each other, smirking. One of them would win. And they were each determined to be that winner.
"Already having a guaranteed spot in the Final Two, Ivy does not have to compete in the next challenge. That will be Gaz and Leo, who will compete against each other. That winner will go up against Ivy in the ultimate challenge. Who will win Total Drama Everything 2? Who will claim the million dollars? The time will soon come to decide this result, so be sure to keep watching Total. Drama. Everything 2!"
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
This was definitely shorter and simpler than what I've done lately, but what can I really do when I'm rehashing?
Regardless of what side of the argument you're on, I imagine some might be surprised to see Yusei down in fourth place. After the Namora incident, some people might have believed he would've been eliminated right after Lammy, or even quit to support her. Others might have thought he would end up winning the whole thing. But he has served his purpose in this story, and it is his turn to be eliminated.
Regardless, after everything he went through this season, I think you can all agree he kicked butt, and may already be a winner in the eyes of a lot of readers.
Compared to the past few chapters, this one didn't have a lot happening, other than an action packed race to Hawaii to decide the Final Three. For coming in first place, Ivy is not only in the Final Three, but will also definitely be in the Final Two, leaving Gaz and Leo to eventually face each other for the right to face Ivy. Either way, one of those three will be the one to win the million dollars. This game is coming down to the wire.
Now to talk about a rule change I have decided on the poll to choose the returnees.
Officially, it is supposed to be the Top 10 leaders on the poll, with the eleventh returnee chosen by me. However, due to the stubborn ratio of guys over girls so far, I have decided to amend this original decree. Now, the Top 5 male and Top 5 female competitors on that poll will win the chance to come back for Total Drama Everything 3. There will still be an eleventh competitor decided by me, and I might as well reveal him: Dante. I have decided Dante will be my eleventh returnee no matter where he falls on the poll.
For the newbies, I have already gotten tons of suggestions, all of them with potential. There are even a few suggestions I have already chosen a few guaranteed ones. I am confirming that Bayonetta, Carmen Sandiego, and Sly Cooper are going to be three of the eleven newbies. I will also pick a newbie myself, and since Murdoc and 2D of Gorillaz are already confirmed to be in the Ridonculous Race, I have decided on their lead guitarist Noodle to be on TDE3.
Speaking of the Ridonculous Race, I have also gained a few good suggestions for that too, the most likely to make it on being Johnny and Cassie Cage from Mortal Kombat. As for the teams I have already listed, since no one has yet to speak against Adam and Jamie from MythBusters since expressing my hopes, I am giving them the green light.
Okay, so here's the classic rundown on the next chapter.
The final Aftermath is here! Sam and Snake are back, and they interview Double D, Lammy, Ruby, and Yusei, as they talk about their experiences. Also, there will be a fun little competition to win advantages for the Final Three, involving six people who were recently put in the TDE2 spotlight due to a recent challenge related to their past, horrifying experiences.
This story has only two chapters left, so remember to read and review, fave and follow, vote on the poll for what returnees you want back, and send in suggestions for competitors on TDE3 and the Ridonculous Race.
I shall see you all soon. TheMasterKast out!
