It was a dismal night, as the full moon came. This would be the night that all werewolves resigning in Mystic Falls would be phasing as wolves. Because of this, Damon was staying indoors, hoping it would be safe.
Damon was on the couch, having a shot glass of Bourbon, Kat in the living room with him. They were hoping that the full moon wouldn't be eventful, because they wanted at least one night where they wouldn't have to worry about anything. Sure, Elijah was still in town, but Damon was sure that as long as Rebekah was in town too, Elijah would be staying in line. With everything Rebekah had told him, when she told Elijah not to do something, he usually obeyed her. It seemed to Damon that Elijah never wanted to fight with her on anything, which made him an honorable person. Kat had even seen it for herself that he'd kept his word to Rose. He'd pardoned her, though it hadn't turned out like Rose had planned it.
Suddenly, just as Damon finished his shot glass of Bourbon and had set it on his drinking table, standing in his living room, there was a crash. That made him and Kat both look to see a silver werewolf launch right through the big living room window and into his living room. Then it stood not too far from where Damon was. Before it could attack though, it was stopped in his tracks, when Kat stood between them.
"Stop! If you want Damon, you'll have to go through me first," she told it. "And we both know you wouldn't attack a human on purpose," she added. They'd seen Mason as a werewolf before, so they both knew it was Mason, rather than Jules.
Mason stood there and debated, before jumping through the broken window, back outside, deciding that it wasn't worth it.
