Hello hello! Another chapter for my lovlies! But first, a few things I'd like to address.
RPGPersona-You got yer apron, bro. As for the rest...well, we'll see how things play out.
MuggleBorn11-I've got no idea what yer goin' on about. I'm just here doin' me job, writing about changelings, and half-demons, and clone children. :D Also, don't jump to conclusions about Emelia's powers just yet. I have several interesting somethings planned for her.
Oh, and ONE MORE THING (JAAACCKKIIIEEE). I mean what .
Anyways, I know Raven can project emotions as well, but the *bulk* of my writings will have her more like her cartoon counterpart. Though I will confess it was from the comics that I got this particular power idea for Emelia. And yes, you'll be seeing more of Speedy, just not this chapter. Soon, though.
I mean seriously, if you wanna compare comic lore then Beast Boy is underpowered in 95% of fanfics. He can assume the form of swarming creatures like locus, he can alter the size of the creatures he turns into (a human sized spider, if i recall correctly), his healing factor is on part with DEATHSTROKE (meaning he can heal from bullet wounds, burns, and broken bones in SECONDS), and not only can he turn into animalistic alien/demons, but he can turn into mythological creatures too.
If anyone's abilities are ever understated, it's Beast Boy's.
Beast Boy couldn't stop pacing around the common room. Cyborg sat on the couch, his arms stretched across the back and a grin on his face.
"So BB, when ya gonna call her? It's already been three days, man, you best not keep her waiting too long." The robotic man teased.
Beast Boy paused. "I was thinking about doing it tonight, actually."
Cyborg raised an eyebrow but smiled. "That's my boy. Now do it."
Beast Boy nodded, his eagerness almost visibly flowing off of him. Raven, who was sitting on the smaller couch near the kitchen, turned away in disinterest as her teammate pulled out his off-duty cellphone. She didn't listen as he made the call, didn't listen as he asked the girl out, didn't listen as he barely contained a squeal of joy, and didn't even listen as he did one of his typical Beast Boy victory dances through the room.
"Hey Raven…"
The sorceress glanced up from the book she was reading, sitting next to a coloring Emelia. "Yes Beast Boy?"
"You…uh…well, you don't mind if I go…do you?"
She raised an eyebrow at the nervous changeling. "Why would I mind?"
"Well, uh, um…I thought…I dunno…"
She waved her hand dismissively at him and went back to reading. "I don't care, Beast Boy. Go enjoy yourself. You deserve a bit of happiness."
He gave her a funny look for a several minutes before he slowly nodded and walked away. Emelia looked up from her coloring book. "Mommy, where is daddy going?"
"Daddy has a date with a girl, so he won't be here this evening."
"Where are you going?"
Raven turned to her daughter, a curious look on her face. "I'm not going anywhere."
Emelia's face screwed up in thought. "You mean you aren't going with daddy?"
"No."
"But shouldn't you be the one who goes with daddy?"
Raven's eyebrow arched high on her forehead. "Why would I?"
Emelia frowned. "'Cause you're mommy and daddy."
"Emelia…" Raven frowned a little and shook her head. "Your father and I are just friends."
"But…" A sad look in the little girls' eyes made Raven cringe on the inside. "You're mommy and daddy. Not just mommy. Not just daddy. Mommy and daddy."
At this point, Raven set her book down and pulled her daughter into her lap. She wrapped her arms around the little girl and took a deep breath. "I know that we are your mommy and daddy, Emelia, but daddy likes Rose and mommy doesn't like anyone that way."
Emelia stared at her mother for a long moment and Raven honestly felt like the little girl was reading her soul. After a few minutes, the child frowned again.
"Are you sure you don't like daddy?"
She didn't know why, but Raven hesitated. "I'm sure."
On the outside, Beast Boy looked nervous as hell. He was fidgety, his eyes did a bit of darting, and his leg was constantly bouncing (damned Restless Leg Sydrome!). Cyborg almost laughed at his friend as he drove the changeling to the mall to meet his date.
"Ya know, Grass Stain, if you get yer license I might think about makin' ya a ride." He said nonchalantly.
Beast Boy's eyes got huge. "Really dude?!"
"You gotta pass with flyin' colors." Cy said firmly. "Drivin' is fun and all, but it's dangerous too. If I know you can't drive Emelia and Raven somewhere safely, I ain't doin' it."
His friend nodded with a huge smile. "I gotcha dude. I'll get it soon."
Mere minutes later, Beast Boy was standing outside the mall, waving Cyborg goodbye. The tin man had a huge smirk on his face as he drove away. As soon as his friend was out of sight, Beast Boy dropped the nervous charade. Instead of being nervous, he was actually very thoughtful.
Yes, he was still head over heels for Raven, but that didn't mean he couldn't date, right? Was it wrong to think that? It's not like Raven would return his feelings after all. Sure, she had said rather vaguely said it was possible in the future, but that could be years down the road. He could wait for her, he knew that much. They didn't have anything going for them now other than taking care of Emelia. She was his best friend too, not that he was entirely sure how he managed that when he bothered her all the time. There wasn't anything between them than friendship. So technically it was fine for him to see other girls.
Right?
Now, one would think that with it being Beast Boy that his head would explode with too much thinking. But the truth was that he did think a lot more than his friends could possibly imagine. Sure, he didn't make the best decisions. Yeah, he made mistakes. And yes, he had had some really bad ideas before. But it wasn't going to stop him from doing what he wanted.
And right now, he wanted to see if this random girl would be worth spending time with.
It was precisely 7 pm when he arrived at Hot Topic. Inside, Rose was talking to an oriental girl with long black hair. Noticing him, the white haired girl waved.
"Hey Beast Boy!"
He waved back with the most charming smile he could manage. "Heya Rose."
"See? I told you he was cute." Rose smirked at her friend and nudged her.
The girl rolled her eyes and spoke with a heavy Viet accent. "You always think the weird ones are cute."
"Am I ever wrong?"
"KD."
Rose flinched. "Touché."
Beast Boy, who had been quietly listening as he approached, chuckled. "Can't be any worse than the first girl I went on a date with. She took over half the city then killed Slade with lava."
Rose smirked. "Yeah, I heard about that. It must have been awesome to see a prick like Slade kick the bucket, eh Jade?"
"Indeed." The girl snorted, then pulled out her phone. "I've got to go. I'm headed to see Roy in Steele City."
Rose waved her friend bye, then called out as the girl was halfway through the door. "For crying out loud, Jade, use protection this time!"
A very flustered Jade whipped around and threw something at the white haired girl, who caught it with a laugh. Before Beast Boy could tell what it was, she pocketed it.
Still laughing at her friend, Rose turned glanced at Beast Boy. "You're looking pretty cute today. Got a date with a special someone?"
"U-uh, maybe?" He said shyly, his ears wiggling up and down a bit.
That's adorable! Rose thought as she looked him up and down. He was wearing the same pants he bought the other day and a regular black t-shirt. He was a bit more scrawny and shorter than she liked in a guy, but he was too damn cute to pass up.
Curiosity overcame reason and she found herself leaning over the counter, giving him a clear view of her cleavage. She smiled at him mischievously. "A Teen Titan all dressed up for lil' ol' me? I'm flattered!"
His eyes darted all around the room, trying his damnedest to avoid staring at the obvious trap. Unfortunately he ended up sneaking a few glances, as guys are wont to do. Rose couldn't help but chuckling to herself at his innocence as she set about finishing up her shift. After a few minutes, she went to the back, clocked out, and changed. Now she was wearing blue jeans and a tight fitting blood red v-cut shirt.
At first they wandered about the mall, not really doing much, just getting to know each other. Beast Boy told Rose about his time with the Titans and she told him that she'd only moved to the area recently to get away from her father's business.
"He's a real hardass and takes his contract work too seriously. He's obsessed with it." She said, shaking her head. "I'm glad I turned 18 and moved out."
"Ha, I know that feeling. Robin's been obsessed with finding out who Slade is and stopping him for years." Beast Boy laughed and paused at an ice cream vendor. "Whatcha want?"
"Aww, buying for me? How chivalrous." Rose teased him, then picked out mint chocolate chip.
"Chivalry ain't dead, baby, it's all here with me." Beast Boy said smugly and he jerked his thumb at himself.
Rose choked on her ice cream, trying hard to not laugh. Seeing this, the changeling wiggled his eyebrows at her and twitched his ears up and down. She spat out her ice cream and covered her face, laughing at the ridiculous sight in front of her.
"I knew it, chicks dig the ears!" He fist pumped in joy.
"Oh my, you've discovered my secret! My secret fetish for pointy ears is now evident to the whole world!
Whatever shall I do?" Rose put her hand to her forehead dramatically and pretended to swoon. Beast Boy paused, looking at her in a mixture of shock and confusion.
"Really?" He asked in awe. The white haired girl burst into laughter all over again. She was laughing so hard that she had to sit down on a bench. Beast Boy sat beside her, leaving about a foot of space between them. Wiping tears from her eyes, Rose glanced at him.
"Nobody told me you were funny." She said with a chuckle.
The changeling waited until she was eating her ice cream again before he spoke, wiggling his ears and eyebrows once more. "It's all part of the B-Man's animal magnetism."
She snorted into her ice cream, then shook her head. "Oooooh no, I'm not falling for that one again."
They both shared a laugh this time, then ate in silence. As he finished his cone, Beast Boy glanced at his companion. "So…whaddaya wanna do now?"
Rose sat in thought for a moment. "Hm…want to go to a club? Some music sounds really good right now."
Beast Boy brightened up. "Sure! I love music and clubs and stuff. But I can't drink, dude, I'm 17. Well, almost 17."
"Aww, you're a minor? I'll have to be careful with you then."
His eyebrow rose. "Careful?"
Rose chose this moment to lean in and give him a look that made him question what her intentions were. She saw the adorably confused look on his face, took him by the hand, and got up. They got a total of thirty feet before the sound of a voice stopped them.
"Geesh Beast Boy. I knew you were into aggro girls, but don't you think cheating on Raven is a really stupid idea?"
Both teens stopped and turned to the voice. It was Control Freak, sitting at a table eating a loaded chili dog. He set it down and got up. "Hey Rose."
"Hello Eugene." Rose nodded at him. "Behaving in the mall this time?"
"Yep." The fat man grinned at Beast Boy. "Since I'm not committing any crimes, Beasty here can't d-OOF!"
Control Freak found himself on the ground gasping for air after Beast Boy's fist drove up into his stomach. The nerd looked up, trying hard to suck in all the oxygen he lost.
Beast Boy looked down at him, growling. "THAT was for the VERY rude comments made about Raven the other day."
"You can't…hit me… I'm a…civilian…right now!"
"I'm off the clock, which means it's just two guys in the mall." The changeling growled. "Go ahead and get up, though. I'm still pretty pissed about what you said."
The ginger haired man glanced up and shook his head. "Come on, Beast Boy, I'm your archenemy, I'm supposed to taunt you!"
"Even I know there are some things you shouldn't joke about."
"Okay fine." He spat. "I'm sorry. But I still thinking cheating on Raven is a stupid idea."
"I'm not in a relationship with Raven." Beast Boy said this simply enough, but there was a subtle hint of disappointment in his voice. Rose and Control Freak both noticed this, but neither said anything.
"Oh." The fat man pulled himself up and sat down at his table, looking at the two. "Well, you know what they say. Accidents can happen. Don't give up, dude."
The changeling snorted. "Kind of a rude thing to say when I'm here with another girl, dontcha think?"
Control Freak shrugged. "I don't predict the future, I just read the script ahead of schedule."
Beast Boy shook his head in irritation and walked away, Rose at his side.
You see the fat ginger man known as Control Freak turn your way and snort. "Happy now, Muggleborn11? I apologized. Now tell Foamsatmouth to give me back my friggin' remote!"
The people around him could only wonder who the hell he was talking to.
"Fixit, do you know where Martin and Starfire are?"
"No, Miss Raven, I have not seen them in some time."
Raven groaned and shifted the half asleep child in her arms. "Fixit, I told you not to call me Miss. You're not a servant, you're our friend."
The android looked up from the little robot he was working on. It had six legs and looked remarkably like a spider, albeit without the appropriate amount of limbs. She wasn't entirely sure what the robot was for, but he had hundreds of the little things in the basement where he dwelled. Presently, they were in the common room, with Cyborg and Robin on the Gamestation. Raven had been reading a book to Emelia when she noticed the girl was falling asleep. It was almost 9 o'clock, past her bed time. But Beast Boy wasn't home yet to take Emelia to bed.
Raven didn't have any issues putting the girl to bed, but she didn't want to go into her friend's room without permission (which was oxymoronic considering whom the room belonged to and what he did on a regular basis). Still, she respected him just enough to try to wait for him to return home.
His time was up, however. Emelia needed to sleep.
"I apologize, Raven."
Raven shook her head. "It's fine. I'm taking Emelia to bed now."
"Very well. Goodnight Raven, goodnight Emelia."
Raven bid him goodnight and walked out of the common room, a sleepy little girl in her arms. As she made her way towards Beast Boy's room, she contemplated the makeshift nanny. Fixit was odd, for an android. She had expected him to be…well, robotic. She had expected a cold nature and a superiority complex, especially after what had happened with Cyborg the first time they met.
Instead, he was quiet and curious more than anything. He rarely asked questions and showed no problems with watching the children. Emelia regarded him as a passing curiosity, but Martin was thrilled to have "Mister Fissit" staying with them. Fixit had attempted on a couple of occasions to teach Martin how to properly say his name but each attempt failed. Instead of being angry about it, as a human was wont to do, he merely resigned himself to his makeshift name. He interacted with the children fairly well, telling the Titans that "I believe the children will teach me more than Cyborg did. In return, I will teach them as well."
Of course, it was hard to take him seriously when he (is 'he' even the right term for the android? Raven wondered this several times) was wearing an apron that said They Call Me Mr. Fixit.
Cyborg's sense of humor was questionable at times.
When the half demon and the one quarter demon (this thought amused Raven greatly) reached the resident changelings' room, there was a pause in movement as the empath (the older one) reached out to locate her missing alien friend.
Ah, she's asleep already. Raven thought as she found them in Starfire's room.
This thought made her pause longer. Why hadn't Emelia slept in Raven's room before? Sure, she'd napped in there before, but not stayed the night.
Does that make me a bad parent for shunting her off on Beast Boy every night?
What a troublesome thought.
An hour later, Raven was still feeling a little perturbed. It wouldn't harm anything if Emelia stayed there with her, so why hadn't she? Emelia was a smart enough girl to know that she shouldn't mess with anything in Raven's room without permission (a trait she most certainly did not get from Beast Boy). So why hadn't she stayed with Raven?
After some thought, the lavender haired teen decided it was because Emelia had bonded more with Beast Boy. While it was a reasonable line of thinking, it was also a tad disturbing. Raven desired to bond with the little girl just as much as her friend. She would need to strengthen their bonds as a family. But how should she do that? Food for thought, she decided.
Raven was halfway down the hallway, headed towards Beast Boy's room when she realized she had just thought of them as a family.
Why did I think that? She thought to herself as she approached the door.
As she raised her hand to open the door, however, she felt something on the other side of it. Something terrible. Something dark. Something…frightened.
Raven practically ripped the door away, her eyes glowing with her dark magic as she dashed into the room. What she found was certainly not what she expected.
Emelia lay curled up on the bottom bunk of the bed, whimpering to herself. "Daddy…mommy…don't leave me..."
Above her were three shadowy beings, hissing and crooning to her in whispers. With each whimper they seemed to grow in size just a little bit, feeding off of her fear and loneliness. Raven could feel her eyes split in rage as the Nightmares (minor demons from the astral realm) tortured her little girl.
"Get away from my daughter!" She roared as she sent a claw of black magic racing across the room at them.
The little demons jumped in surprise and barely leapt out of the way. But the claw followed them, splitting in another. They chased the little demons around the room, destroying everything they could to try to keep their distance between themselves and the claws, which now numbered three. Of course, they unintentionally got too close to Raven at one point. They didn't last very long after that.
Her anger not sated, Raven cast a spell and ripped a hole through reality, connecting the physical realm with the astral realm. Inside the astral version of this very room were hundreds of nightmares, including ones that appeared to have fed off of Beast Boy at some point or another (they were large and greenish).
The sheer volume of Raven's rage erased them all from existence.
Of course Beast Boy, on the other side of town, had no idea about what was going on in his room at that moment. What he did know was that Rose was a really good dancer. She didn't have the deliciously curvy figure that Raven had, nor was she dark and mysterious, but damn it was fun to dance with her.
If he was honest, he really had no idea how long they danced. They just danced for hours until neither one could dance anymore.
"Hey!" Rose shouted into his ear.
"Yeah?!"
"I need to get home and go to bed! I have work tomorrow!"
Beast Boy nodded and shouted as loud as he could. "I'll walk you home!"
Rose smiled and dragged him off to the exit. Outside, they could still hear the pulsating music, its vibrations reaching out a block-wide radius in every direction.
"My head feels like it's going to explode!" Beast Boy shouted by accident. Seeing Rose wince, he covered his mouth. "Oops. Sorry."
She shook her head with a laugh. "It's fine, I do that sometimes."
The green teen smiled at her, which she returned.
After a peaceful moment of walking, Beast Boy spoke up. "Y-ya know Rose…this was the most fun I've had in a while. Could…could we do this again?"
The white haired girl glanced at him curiously. "What about Emelia and Raven?"
The changeling raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What about them?"
"Don't you spend time with them?"
"Of course! I spend a lot of time with them. Emmy even sleeps in my bed, though I figure it's about time Raven realizes she can sleep with her too."
Raising an eyebrow of her own, Rose stopped. "She hasn't slept with Raven once?"
"Nope." He shook his head. "Rae's still adjusting to the whole 'parent' thing, really. I dunno if I'm being a good parent, I just try to raise Emmy like my parents raised me. Ya know, a loving home, food when yer hungry, and the stuff you need to have fun."
Rose giggled. "So you're the fun parent. What does that make Raven?"
"She's a fun parent too, just in a different way." Beast Boy smiled and looked off in the distance. "She's really smart and considerate and she tries really hard to be good with Emmy. She's been reading all kinds of books to her too. She doesn't let Star go overboard with dressing her up, she always makes sure Emmy has eaten properly, sleeps properly, and baths properly too. She's starting to smile a bit more too."
Silence drew the changeling's attention to his companion, who was staring at him blankly. He visibly flinched when he realized what he had done. Nervously, he scratched the back of his head and muttered to himself.. "Rambling on about another girl while on a date with one that's amazing. Nice going, Beast Boy."
Fortunately, Rose heard him and chuckled. "I'm not mad or anything. It's just one date. It'll take a lot more than that to annoy me."
Beast Boy sighed in relief. "That's great, cause I can be a bit of a stupid blabbermouth on occas-"
"Oi! Is that Beast Boy I see?"
The changeling and his date turned and looked across the street from where the voice was coming. They say a young man in something that resembled a sleeveless prison uniform. His white semi-liberty spikes haircut, along with his toad-like face (complete with huge frowning lips), struck a familiar cord to the shapeshifter. It wasn't until he spied the guitar on the boy's back that he realized who he was looking at.
"Punk Rocket!"
"That's right lad. Wot's a wanker like you doin' with a fine lass like that?" Punk Rocket sneered, then winked at Rose. "'er hair is almost as purty as mine. Say there love, fancy a shimmy with Punkie tonight?"
Snarling, Beast Boy shifted into a wolf and dashed across the street at the vulgar thug. Punk merely laughed and whipped his guitar from his back. His fingers flew across the strings, making the weaponized instrument send out huge shockwaves that lifted two cars and Beast Boy clean off the ground and hurtling backwards. The changeling was hit by one of the cars and bounced into an electric billboard. As the sign sent hundreds of volts racing through his body, Beast Boy could only wonder where Rose was.
When the sign finally shorted out, he flopped ungracefully to the ground after bouncing off a fire escape. His flesh was smoking in several spots and the pain was bad enough to make him black out.
The first thing he heard when he regained consciousness was the sound of metal striking flesh. He glanced up from his lovely position on the asphalt just in time to see Punk Rocket hit the ground. He was unconscious now, a bloody welt on the back of his head pulsing. Beast Boy looked up and saw Rose standing there with a bloody pipe, which she dropped as she crouched down next to him.
"Are you okay?" She asked, genuinely concerned.
He nodded and coughed out a burst of smoke. "I'll be fine, it was just shocking to meet Punk Rocket here."
Rose groaned and facepalmed.
Ravens' eyes opened and she glanced at her clock. It was 5:02 AM and Beast Boy had just returned home. How did she know that? Well, it's pretty simple.
You see, after Raven had come to accept the little girl, she took a few precautions. Said cautionary measures included a variety of detection spells and alarm spells scattered about the tower. They were pretty nifty spells, if she was honest. The majority of them were runic in nature and someone of her magical caliber could make dozens in a single go. What she had done was gone from hallway to hallway, door to door, and inscribed sigils of detection and alarm on each thing she stopped at. Fortunately, these runes were invisible to anyone not magical in nature, so she was the only one who could see them, let alone sense them. Granted, she hadn't thought to use spells to counter beings from the astral realm from manifesting. That would be quickly remedied soon enough though.
When Beast Boy entered the tower two minutes ago, he trigged three alarms. It was a ridiculous time for him to be getting home. She was going to have a word with him about that and would inform Robin as well.
She found a slightly burnt changeling in tattered clothes sitting on the couch, wide awake. Alarmed, she approached him.
"Beast Boy? What the hell?"
He looked up at her with bloodshot eyes. "Oh, hey Rae. What are you doing up?"
"I sensed that you came home and was going to yell at you. Now tell me what happened." Raven shook her head in irritation as she started healing him. Her warm glowing hands wrapped around his shoulder, where he had a nasty electrical burn.
"Uh…well…after I met up at the mall with Rose, we wandered around a bit. After that we went to a club, which we left around…I dunno, two? Maybe three? I was walking her home when we ran into Punk Rocket. He started hitting on Rose, so I kinda attacked him. He blasted me into an electric billboard and knocked me out for a few minutes. When I came to, Rose was standing over Punk with a pipe in her hands. We stayed there until the cops showed up and I did all that paperwork Rob hates."
Raven, halfway done healing all his wounds, raised an eyebrow at him. "Sounds like quite a night. Did she at least give you a kiss for all that?"
Beast Boy raised his hand to his head and scratched it nervously. "She…offered one, yeah. But…I didn't take it."
Now Raven was curious. "Really? Why not?"
"It didn't feel right."
He didn't look at her as he spoke and she couldn't quite understand what she was feeling from him. Guilt and sadness? Why would he feel that?
"Why wouldn't it feel right? You protected her and got hurt in the process." Raven frowned. "I'm not saying that she had to do it, but it would have been nice since you were her date for the night."
The changeling looked at her with a smirk barely tugging at his lips and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "So, what, every time I save a girl I should get a kiss?"
Raven's cheeks heated up a little at his implications but she scowled at him to hide it. "We're having a moment, don't ruin it."
He laughed, then his expression turned into one of thoughtful seriousness. He scratched his ear in thought before sighing. "Not gonna lie, Rae, I kinda wanted that kiss. It's nice to feel wanted in a way that isn't like we feel as a team. But…it would have been my first kiss. The first kiss is the most precious one, the one that'll hold the most memories, the one that is the most important. But when I get my first kiss, I want it to be with the girl I'll spend the rest of my life with."
The sorceress could barely hide her shock at his statement. She never figured him for a closet romantic. And yet here he was telling her, of all people, that he wanted this first kiss to be with the most important person in his life. It left a curious sensation in the pit of her stomach, one that she couldn't identify.
"So, how was Emmy?"
Raven turned her eyes from the very last of his burns and stared levelly at him. "An hour after I put her to bed in your room, she had a nightmare that destroyed half your room."
Beast Boy's eyes nearly popped out of his skull. "What?!"
"I'm not entirely sure what she was dreaming about, but it terrified her. She was crying for you and me the whole time, even after she woke up. After I calmed her down, I took her to my room to sleep. She's been fine since then." Raven deliberately neglected to mention the minor demons that preyed upon the sleeping girl. It would only devastate her friend to know his presence around the sleeping girl had most likely been what was keeping them at bay.
The changeling ran a hand through his disheveled hair and chuckled. "I wonder if this is a sign, don't date."
He might have laughed a little at his own joke, but Raven could hear the sadness buried under the humor. Without knowing why, she placed her hand on his shoulder. When he looked to her, she spoke the first thing that came to mind.
"Beast Boy, you must not give up. You're a hero, and a good one. You're the one on this team that has the most heart and if you start giving up then the whole team might as well call it quits. A few bad days will only make you stronger in the long run, a better person. Your stubbornness is what makes you endearing to the team. It is, weirdly enough, your best quality."
Raven knew she was terrible with words in a situation like this, but it still seemed to have an effect on the shapeshifter.
Beast Boy stared at her for some time before he reached up and placed a hand on hers'. He gave her a smile that was so warm that it scared her. It was neither a smile of his typical childish joy, nor was it a smile like he had after one of his stupid pranks. It was etched across his features as if it had always been there and reached deep into his emerald green eyes.
"Thanks Raven." He said simply.
Raven, suddenly feeling dry mouthed, nodded and got up, desiring a cup of water before returning to bed. Whatever was happening was beyond startling and she needed to sleep then meditate on it.
"Hey Raven…can I see Emmy before I go to bed?"
Eyebrow raised, Raven glanced at the time. "I suppose. Make it quick, I'd like to get back to sleep for a couple of hours."
He nodded and followed her to her room. Inside, the little blonde haired girl was sleeping peacefully. She was wrapped contentedly in Raven's dark purple comforter, warding her from the slight chill that permeated the room at all times. The sorceress climbed into bed and lay down next to her with Beast Boy kneeling down next the side where Emelia slept. He reached out and gave the girl a little pat on the head before kissing it. He turned to speak to Raven once more and found her already asleep.
Beast Boy chuckled softly to himself as he pulled the covers over the two most important girls in his life and left without another sound.
My British friends will probably kill me for using a stereotype like that for Punk Rocket's character xD
Things are getting interesting, eh? Nightmares, minor demons from the astral realm, targeting Emelia? How did they manifest? Does it have something to do with Emelia's powers? Where did Rose get that pipe?
Find out next time on One P-
Erm, wait.
