Let's make this brief, I know you guys and gals are ready to get to reading!
TheUltimateStar- I'm so glad you enjoyed that chapter! I had a lot of fun writing it. I hope you enjoy this chapter too, it's Raven-centric.
RPGPersona- It's hard to tell which parent Emelia takes after the most, isn't it? lol
Allen Blaster- Dunno if I'd call them perverts, but they ARE teenagers, so that kind of thing is gonna happen lol.
XxPhoenix FlightxX- No, my dear reader, YOU are on point. You got the KD reference right on the first try without batting an eyelash.
Though I'm still probably going to use RPGPersona's "Kraft Dinner" joke somewhere, I just have to find the perfect spot.
Anyhoot, R&R's are always appreciated! I hope you lot enjoy this chapter! :D
Hours later, a knock stirred Raven from her meditation. She had finally shaken whatever the heck had come over her, though she hadn't found out what it was. As she lowered herself from her levitating lotus position, she focused on whoever was at the door. It was Beast Boy, of course, though it seemed he had a sleepy Emelia in his arms. Raven glanced at the clock.
8:37 pm
By Azar, I meditated that long? Beast Boy missed his date!
Her thought process paused for a moment. Now why does that not bother me?
With a small shrug she approached the door. On the other side, she could feel the changelings concern rolling off him. It wasn't directed at the little girl in her arms, but at Raven herself.
He worried about me? He should know by now there's nothing to worry about, I was just meditating…Her thought trailed off as something stirred inside her again.
"Rae? I know you're on the other side of the door. Are you okay?" A muffled voice spoke.
"I'm…having a few issues with my powers right now." She spoke into the door, not trusting herself to open it.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
She paused and spoke softly. "No…you already missed your date with Rose…"
"That's perfectly fine, Raven. She ain't gonna get mad over one or two missed dates. Trust me."
Raven couldn't quite determine what his emotions were with this statement. There was a tinge of regret, a tad of longing, a helping of loneliness, and a good bit of acceptance. His emotional state was about as stable as the glorfnark stew Starfire had made the other night. She nibbled on her lip in thought.
"Aren't girlfriends supposed get angry at things like this?" She hesitated to ask this, but something compelled her to do so.
His response had a touch of bitterness to it. "You'd be surprised how understanding she is."
This particular statement aroused her curiosity so much that she opened the door to find him staring down at a cup of warm tea in his hand. In his other arm, Emelia dozed on his shoulder. Raven's jaw dropped just a little when she saw the tea.
"You…you brought me tea?"
If he could have, Beast Boy would have scratched the back of his head in nervousness. "Y-yeah…I thought you might like one. I hope I made it right."
Raven tentatively took the teacup and sipped it. She looked at it in surprise. "Rosemary with a tablespoon with honey? How did you know my favorite?"
"A-ah, well ya know, funny thing is that…"
"Daddy knows how to make all your teas, mommy." Emelia yawned. Beast Boy eyes widened and he looked anywhere but at Raven.
"Well, ya know, that's cause I see you make them all the time, so I was bound to learn it at some point or another cause ya know, yer doin' it all the time, so of course I'd learn it."
Raven was eternally grateful that she still had her hood up, since a slight blush was forming on her cheek. Beast Boy not only made this tea for her, but he had learned to make it the right way by watching her make it. And then he brought her the tea when he thought she needed it.
By Azar, that's the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her.
The empath found it a little difficult to speak at this moment, so she took several hearty swigs of tea. She couldn't help licking her lips in appreciation. "It's perfect, Beast Boy. Thank you. How did you know when it was right?"
Again with the nervous sputtering. "Uh…well…"
By Azar that's actually a little cute.
Wait…what?
"Daddy tasted it to see if he made it right."
Raven's lips froze on the edge of the cup, her eyes slowly gazing down into the swirling herbal remedy. Slowly, almost painfully, she raised her gaze to look at her companion. He shook his head vehemently.
"No no no no, I used another cup then poured it in this one!"
Raven released the breath she had no idea she had been holding. On one hand, she was borderline upset that she could have shared an indirect kiss with him. On the other hand, that wouldn't have been such a bad thing.
Her brow furrowed. It wouldn't have?
Thankfully, Beast Boy interrupted her thoughts. "So, um, yeah. Me and Emmy are gonna go to bed."
Raven nodded. "Alright. Thank you for staying and taking care of Emelia."
He smiled warmly at her. "Anytime Rae."
Raven froze as her insides started doing cartwheels and backflips. She decided that there was something terribly wrong with her and that she should really take a trip to Nevermore and figure out what was going on. But what she hadn't decided on was if this required immediate action or if it was just a passing thing. For all she knew, it could be gone by tomorrow.
For once, Raven decided to just wait this one out. Sleep was calling her, as was a delicious cup of tea made by her…
She didn't know what to call him anymore.
A pounding at the door startled Raven from an uneasy sleep. She shot straight up in bed, staring hard at the door. He better have a damn good reason for waking her at 12:56 pm.
"Rae!"
Hopping out of bed, she glanced at her mirror and hesitated. She was wearing a dark purple tanktop and matching boy shorts, her usual sleeping attire during the warmer months. She ran her hands through her hair a few times to pull out any tangles before she answered the door.
"You had better have a da-" She stopped, seeing a sobbing Emelia in Beast Boy's arms. She scooped the little girl from him instantly and wrapped her arms around the child. "What's wrong? What happened?"
"I dunno, she just started crying in her sleep and wouldn't stop." The changeling trailed off, looking at the floor in shame.
Raven stared at him for a long moment before she spoke softly. "You saw them, didn't you?"
He looked up at her, startled. "Who?"
"The nightmares." She frowned after seeing his look of confusion. "The shadowy things around her when she was crying."
His look of confusion turned to one of anger. "Yeah, I saw them alright."
"What did you…" Raven trailed off as she saw how narrow his pupils were and that his clawed hands were clenched tightly. Judging by his rigid stance and laborious breath, it seemed he had taken it into his own hands to dispose of the astral entities. She shook her head. "Nevermind. Stupid question."
He shrugged. "I ask them all the time. In fact, I have one now. What the hell were those and why were they targeting Emmy?"
A small motion of her head and she lead him inside her room. Glancing back, she could see how uneasy he was. It was extremely rare for Raven to invite someone into her room and here she was inviting him, of all people, in there. He knew he had to resist snooping.
For now, anyways.
Raven lay Emelia down on the bed and wrapped her in a light blanket. Feeling his gaze on her backside, she whipped around only to find him inspecting a statue on a bookshelf. She glared at him, but knew she couldn't prove he had been staring at her. It didn't actually bother her, but it had left her feeling tingly and warm.
How disturbing.
After a moment, she sat down on the bed and rubbed her temples before starting her explanation. "The creatures you saw are called Nightmares. They are entities from the astral realm, which is a dimension that is connected to the mental energy of all beings in the universe. Nightmares, in general, are fairly harmless to the average person, seeing as all they do is feed on the bad dreams people have. People with mental disorders and emotional disorders, however, feel them stronger. The more bad dreams a person has, the more nightmares are attracted to them. Over time, some nightmares being strong enough to manifest themselves in our dimension. The ones preying on Emelia, however, were very weak ones. I believe she actually has a very powerful latent psychic power that let her drag them from their realm to ours. It doesn't help that your room was and still is full of nightmares."
The changeling shuffled his feet uneasily, now realizing full and well the nightmares he had had over the years had played a part in his daughters sleeping issues. It filled him with a shameful self-loathing and he sighed deeply.
Raven watched him carefully, seeing his emotions bubble inside of him. Approaching him cautiously, she placed a hand on his shoulder. She looked down at the floor as he directed his gaze at her.
"It's not your fault, Beast Boy. We all have nightmares. It's part of being human."
After a moment, he reached up and placed his hand on hers. "Thanks Raven."
His touch lit a fire under her skin that no amount of mental bashing could cool off. Struggling with her inner self, she removed her hand from his shoulder and made her way to the bed. Emelia rolled over and opened one eye.
"Mommy?'
Raven wrapped her arms around the little girl and kissed her head. "I'm here, Emelia, don't worry."
Emelia yawned. "I'm sleepy but I don't wanna go to sleep. The bad dreams will come back."
"Can you tell me what you were dreaming?" Raven asked. Beast Boy made his way to the bed and sat on the other side of Emelia, his curiosity overwhelming his sense of caution in the room. Raven, however, paid him no mind.
"It was cold and wet, like in the pool. But I couldn't see anything, it was dark. There were lots of bubbles, but there wasn't any sound. There wasn't anyone there. Not Martin, not Auntie Star or Uncle Rob or Uncle Cy, not even you and daddy. It was scary. I don't wanna be alone!" She was crying now and both teens instinctively reacted. Beast Boy lay down behind her and wrapped his arms around her middle as Raven pulled her close. The teens were rather close to each other but they didn't notice. She buried her face in Raven's shoulder as her arms wrapped around Beast Boys' arms.
Of all the Titans in the tower, Beast Boy and Raven knew best how Emelia felt about being alone. Beast Boy had spent years living in a jungle by himself, before being found by an abusive 'uncle', while Raven had been 'raised' by Azarathian monks who taught her to be emotionless and to form no bonds.
True, Starfire had been sold as a slave to the Gordainians by her sister, but the princess still had family in the form of Galfore and (unfortunately) Blackfire.
Yeah, Robin had lost his parents some years ago, but he had been adopted by Batman.
And yes, Cyborg still had his (estranged) father.
But none of them had truly been alone (mentally, emotionally, and physically) like the changeling and empath.
A sudden thought occurred to Raven as she comforted the girl.
Is this how Beast Boy feels when he tries to make me feel better?
Before she could follow this thought, however, Emelia pulled her face away from Raven's shoulder and yawned. Her eyes were heavy and her breathing was slowing down. She was finally falling asleep and Raven would be damned if any more nightmares plagued her daughter. She raised her gaze to Beast Boy and found his eyelids drooping a bit. She nodded gently at the door and he nodded back.
But as he tried to get up, Emelia's grip on his arms tightened. Both teen's eyes widened when they realized the sleeping child wasn't letting him go. Both immediately became aware that Beast Boy's arms were against Raven's stomach and that their faces were mere inches apart once again.
A blush was working its way on Ravens' face and she had never been more thankful for the dark as she spoke. "When she's good and asleep, you can pull away from her and return to bed."
Beast Boy, who was trying to keep his night vision away from the dark haired girl in front of him and his emotions under wraps, nodded. "Yeah, good idea."
And so they waited. Twenty minutes later, her grip slacked enough for her father to pull away and return to his own bed.
But both teens were fast asleep.
Several hours later, Emelia's eyes opened. She was terribly thirsty, but both of her parents were sound asleep. Slowly and surely, she wiggled from their embrace and stood up on the bed to look at him. She hadn't told either of them, but she could see in the dark perfectly.
Both of her parents shifted in their sleep, her mothers' arms moving out as if looking for Emelia. When she encountered her father's chest, she wrapped her arms around him and snuggled up against him. At this same time, her father had reached his arms out too but his hands encountered her mother's waist. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in close. Raven's head now lay half on his chest, half on his face.
Neither teen would ever know that Beast Boy kissed Raven's forehead in their sleep, causing the empath to smile.
The little girl yawned and climbed down from the bed. Still quite sleepy, she walked through the door (not bothering to open it) and proceeded to the kitchen. All was quiet in the tower at this hour, so she made her way there quickly and quietly. It took little effort for her to push a stool to the kitchen sink when she got there.
But as she climbed up on the countertop to reach a cabinet for a glass, the television flickered on.
"Mommy, I'm all ready for school!"
I looked down at the little girl standing before me. Emelia was looking excited at the prospects of her first day of 1st grade. I couldn't help but smile at my daughter. She was such a social butterfly at times that it made me wonder how she was really mine.
"That you are, Emelia." I said as I put a plate of scrambled eggs with cheese and some toast on the kitchen table. "Now eat your breakfast, your father will be down in a few minutes to join us."
Emelia nodded and began wolfing down her food. I rolled my eyes at the sight. Like father like daughter, I suppose. I returned to the stove and set about making some waffles. As I stirred the batter and poured it out, I couldn't help but to let my gaze wander to the outside of the window. It was a nice neighborhood on the outskirts of Jump City, quiet and far from the business district where all the trouble was. It had taken us a couple of years to find something as nice as this and I wouldn't give it up for the world. Emelia was in the best school district the city had, though she was a grade behind for her age. I had decided that it would be fine. I had educated her to best of my abilities and the girl was smart. She would be in the right grade before long and, considering how intelligent she is, she would probably end up skipping grades.
I hear a thump coming from the direction of the hallway. He had finally gotten up and dressed. I could hear him stomping down the steps from the second floor where our and Emelia's rooms were, giggling quietly to himself as the sound reverberated through our new home. I rolled my eyes again but couldn't stop the smile from forming on my face. It was good to have our own home, away from the tower.
A pair of strong arms wrap around me from behind moments later, settling their hands on my stomach. I couldn't help but to shiver a little as my skin lit on fire from his touch.
"Good morning beautiful." He murmured into my neck as he nuzzled me.
"You're going to make Emelia late for her first day of school if you don't hurry up and eat your breakfast." I chided him softly. I could feel him smile as he buried his face into my hair and inhaled deeply. He was so weird, adoring the way I smell.
Typical Beast Boy.
"Heya Rae…" He murmured once more.
"Hmmm?" I murmured back, knowing full and well what he was going to say.
I wanted to hear it. I craved hearing it as if nothing in this world would ever be as satisfying as what he was about to say. I NEEDED to hear it. Just say it already! Please!
"I just want you to know that I lo-
Raven's eyes snapped open, disbelief on her face as she fled from her dream into the waking world. Her heart was trying to beat its way out of her chest and her breathing was labored. As her eyes began to focus in the dim light pouring through her only window, Raven realized she was looking at something broad and green. Her dream flew from her thoughts instantly.
Beast Boy's chest.
She was laying against Beast Boy's chest!
His strange, forest-like musky scent flooded her nostrils at this moment and a sense of panic and calm began to clash within her. She shouldn't be this close to him, shouldn't be this close to anyone, but his embrace was so warm that she just wanted to stay there.
When was the last time someone had held her like that?
Oh, that's right. She thought bitterly. Never.
But she knew she couldn't stay like this. Her powers could act up any moment now, most likely hurting him and Emelia in the process. It didn't matter how comforting it was to have him wrapped around her protectively, it didn't matter how his deep breathing relaxed her, it didn't matter that the warmth of his body was lulling her back into slumber, and it most certainly didn't matter that that was probably the best sleep she had gotten in years.
We're just friends. She thought, trying to shake this bizarre mood. We're just friends and he's got a girlfriend. We can't cuddle.
By Azar, we're cuddling.
Her head slowly drifted down with her vision.
Now, while Raven was the epitome of self-control and restraint, there was one little bitty, tinsy weensy fact that most people tend to forget about. Even though she had performed countless heroic acts in her life, including saving the world, there was one thing she simply couldn't escape. Something just as bad as being the portal for her father, Trigon.
And that fact was that she was still a teenage girl. And we all know that teenagers are hormonal.
Needless to say, Raven's blush was the same shade of Starfire's hair as she squeaked in fright and scrambled backwards away from him. She had forgotten that she was wearing her sleeping attire instead of her uniform and had definitely forgotten that Beast Boy was only wearing pajama pants.
As she backpedaled (backcrawled? What do you even call that?), she bumped into something small. Glancing over her shoulder, she found Emelia wrapped in a blanket. On the other side of Raven, there was a sharp intake of breath as Beast Boy began to wake up. Thinking quickly, Raven climbed up and over Emelia and wrapped herself in the same blanket as the girl and rolled to have her back facing the other occupants.
On the other side of the bed, the changeling sat up yawning. As he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, a look of confusion spread across his face. "Huh? This isn't my room."
Her back still to him and her heart pounding, Raven took deep breaths until she was sure her voice wouldn't crack.
"No, this is my room."
She could feel Beast Boy's slow movement as he turned towards her and felt him shift on the bed. She could feel his emotions as plain as day. He was confused and scared, probably thinking that she was about to throw him out the window.
This was true, up until Beast Boy lay one hand where Raven had originally been sleeping. He had only set his hand there to recline on it long enough to apologize for falling asleep, but the warmth of the spot below him robbed him of his words. He gazed down towards the bed and could see the barest outline of a head on the pillow.
A head that had been very close to his.
Beast Boy shook his head in confusion. "I'm… I'm just gonna go now."
"Okay."
While Raven had said this monotonously, Beast Boy could smell her fear. He was scared too, not because of what had happened, but because of what hadn't happened.
She hadn't cursed him, she didn't insult him, she didn't threaten him, she didn't knock him around.
She didn't do anything.
It was way scarier than anything he'd ever seen from the empath.
Days Later…
Raven, we need to talk.
The empath's head jerked up from where she was brushing Emelia's hair. It was one of her emoticlones that spoke to her, she just didn't know which one. She sighed.
"Alright Emelia, your hair is straightened out now. Go help Aunt Star with lunch. I'm going to meditate for a bit."
The little girls' face brightened. "Okay mommy!"
Raven settled down onto the carpet and assumed her lotus position. Taking a deep breath, she started her mantra.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos…"
In the recesses of Raven's mind, her emotionclones began to take shape. Within moments, they had enough form to approach her centered state of mind to speak. This wasn't quite the same as using her enchanted mirror to go to Nevermore. They were less corporal, more shadowy than anything. It was a quicker way to have a conversation that didn't strain her mentally.
Raven opened her inner eye and spoke. "What is it you want to talk about?"
Knowledge, cloaked in a goldenrod color, spoke first. "The others and I have been having a very lengthy discussion concerning a particular individual."
Raven merely blinked. "Beast Boy."
"Yes."
The sorceress sighed. "What about him?"
The gray Timid spoke next, hiding behind Brave. "W-w-well…we…kinda like him."
Raven really should have been surprised, but she honestly wasn't. "Only kind of? After that dream…"
"Well, yeah!" The green clad Brave crossed her arms. "He's putting real effort into raising Emelia with us. That takes guts to raise a kid that ain't technically our own, let alone raise it with us."
Raven raised an eyebrow. "And what is that supposed to mean?"
The orange wrapped Rude belched at this comment, then wiped her mouth on her sleeve. "We ain't exactly been nice to him, Rae Rae. He should hate us and we should hate him."
"But we don't!" Ah, there was the pink blur known as Happy. "He doesn't hate us either! Heck, I think he likes us!"
"Don't be stupid!" A voice snarled. The other emoticlones looked at Anger, who shook her head and jerked her thumb. Behind her was the dark green clad emotion, glaring at Happy.
"Stupid. He can't like us if he's swooning over that flat chested bimbo." The emoticlone snorted and turned away.
"That's not true and you know it!"
All attention now turned to the purple garbed Affection, who shuffled her feet.
"Well…I think he likes us. I hope he does." Her shoulders sagged. "Can we get him to like us? He's actually a really good guy and we would enjoy having someone that cares…"
Raven stared long and hard at the assembled emotions before her, thinking of the dream she had had and the following moments after it. She couldn't deny how wonderful she felt . After some time, she turned to Knowledge. "Is it possible?"
Knowledge's jaw dropped in surprise and she sputtered. "Y-you're not going to argue? At all?"
"No." Raven shook her head. "The fact that Affection exists only proves that these things I think, whether consciously or subconsciously, are quite real. I'll take my time with this…newfound feeling and explore it with each of you."
"Um…"
Raven turned to Affection, who was staring pointedly at the ground. "What is it?"
The purple girl twisted the hem of her cloak nervously for a moment before glancing up at Raven. "This feeling…it isn't new. I've felt this for…well, the entire time we've known him."
If Raven's eyebrow had risen any higher, it would have lifted off of her head and sailed away into space. "Beg pardon?"
Affection smiled once she realized Raven wasn't going to pull an Anger on her. "Well…we've always kinda liked Beast Boy. Yeah, he's kinda stupid…but he's sweet, in his own way, and loyal. It's been really nice having him around. I…actually like him bothering me."
"I like it?" Raven repeated this incredulously.
"Yes." Affection said firmly. "I like it. I like that he's always trying to bond with us, even with our differences. He never even showed a problem with us being half demon! The others recoiled the first time we showed them, but he just stood there in awe!"
"That's because he's an adorable idiot." Chuckled Anger, much to the surprise of the others. Seeing their looks, she snarled. "What? I have an opinion too!"
Raven raised an eyebrow. "Affection, is that line of reasoning the cause of that dream you made me have? Is that little bit really enough to feel this way about him? I mean, look at all the stuff he's messed up."
"But-!"
"Not to mention how many times he's pissed us off." Rude rolled her eyes. "Seriously dude, he's insane."
"No-!"
"Is that really the only reasoning you have?" Raven crossed her arms and frowned. "If that's the case, then what are your opinions on Cyborg and Robin?"
"They're my brothers! This is about Beast Boy!" Affection protested. Raven didn't look convinced, so the purple emoticlone looked to the others for help. Each stared back at her in slightly doubtful expressions, except for Anger, who leaned over and flicked her sister's chakra.
Instantly, Affection's eyes split into four violet streaks and she grew several times in height. Astonished emoticlones gasped and gathered behind Raven (minus Anger, Brave, and the odd dark green cloaked clone).
"You listen to me, Raven!" The violet giant in front of them shouted. "We like Beast Boy for more than those reasons! We like how he pays attention to us when no one else will! We like how he's always helping us in battle! We like how he wants to spend time with us! We like how he carries himself without a care in the world even though he carries the world on his back! We like his confidence! We like his charm! We like how he accepted us for who we are! We like how even when he was the Beast, he protected us! We like how he tricks us into joining on outings and stuff! We like how he accepted Emelia without batting an eyelash! How many guys do we know that would do that? Accept a clone of someone who treated him like dirt and love and care for the child? He knows Emelia is a quarter demon and he accepts her! He loves her! He's here for her! Don't you remember how warm and safe we felt when we woke up in his arms by accident? Why can't we have that more often?! Tell me, Raven!"
Raven was speechless. She had nothing to respond with and no answer to the last question.
After this little outburst, Anger walked up to the seething violet giant and held a hand out to her. A wisp of red magic flowed out of the purple girl and returned to its source, the red emoticlone. And with each second that the angry essence was drained, the girl shrank. After a few minutes Affection was herself again. She leaned heavily on Anger, who wrapped an arm around her. The dark green emoticlone tucked herself up under the other arm, adding her support. Clearly exhausted, the purple emoticlone turned to Raven once more.
"Is it really so wrong to be wanted?" She sounded as if she was on the verge of tears. "I don't want to be Affection anymore…I want more."
Raven shook her head slowly. "Affection…you know as well as I do what happened the last time I let someone in my heart."
"Yeah, because we were stupid enough to let someone we barely knew in." Affection said in a tone of self-loathing, causing Knowledge to flinch. It was the purple and yellow emoticlones' fault on that one. Raven would never have admitted it out loud, but she was absolutely attention starved at the time Malchior appeared. Knowledge had also been overwhelmed at the ancient being's teachings, so neither her nor Affection could resist the allure of someone whom they thought understood.
"The difference is that this is Beast Boy." Anger spoke up, drawing Raven's eye. "We do know him. We know what he's like. We know what he's not like. We like what we see and we want him to like what he sees."
The sorceress paused. "I fail to understand how you want him around, Anger."
"He feeds me, keeps me sharp, makes you remember to keep control least you hurt someone." Anger actually smiled and it sent a shiver down the spine of emoticlone and Raven alike. "He's ridiculously hard to get rid of and I like that. How many boys would keep coming back after all we've put him through?"
After a long moment of consideration, Raven nodded. "Alright, I understand. I will consult you all more on this at a later date."
"None of that will matter if that white haired tramp still has her claws in him." The dark green emoticlone snarled.
Anger held up a hand wreathed in dark magic as her smile turned dark. "We could get rid of her. It would be so easy."
"No!" Raven shouted. "She hasn't done anything wrong! Why are you so fixated on hating her?"
"Why shouldn't I be?!" The dark green clone shouted. "You might not have been paying attention to use but we all damn well know how we feel about this! We are soooo close to being happy for once! There's a nice guy that wants us around, a family that doesn't judge us on our blood, and a freaking child that calls us mother! We have the opportunity for a reason to live, for Azar's sake! Everything we didn't have as the portal! The only thing standing in our way is HER! Damn her and her white hair! She's worse than that damned Terra! At least all that tramp did was break his heart into a million pieces! Nooo, this one is stealing him away from us!"
Raven stared at her in open mouthed shock, the pieces finally clicking together. "But he's not mine. You…you are my jealousy."
"Jealousy, envy, covetousness, spite, resentment, call me what you want. I don't care." The dark green clad clone snarled once more. "What I do care about is getting what I want."
Raven stared at her two darker emotions, Jealousy and Anger. She knew that if she didn't tread cautiously with them that they could very well turn into Envy and Rage. And that would be really bad.
"Alright, fine." She said after a moment. "When I find somewhere worth starting at, I will…see about his feelings for us. And in the event that I do, I will see about…getting him to return these feelings."
That seemed to satisfy all the emoticlones, so Raven drew the meeting to a close and exited Nevermore just as tired as she was when she left. Of course, now she had quite a predicament on her hands. She liked Beast Boy, despite having just told him months ago that she wasn't looking for a relationship. She liked him a pretty good bit if all of her emotions were fixated on him. But how could she tell him if he was dating Rose? Would it be wrong of her to try to woo him away? Hell, did she even know how to woo a guy?
Hey Raven! Rude suddenly spoke to her.
Raven groaned. "What now?"
I bet if you show BB yer knockers again he'll forget all about Rose!
Raven's room imploded.
I couldn't help myself, that was perfect to end the chapter with xD
