HELLOOOOO READERS! I'm so happy you all enjoyed the previous chapter! I mean it, really! I haven't gotten that many reviews on a chapter before and it makes me really happy. Granted, I ended up a few shy of my goal (300), but I know I'll pass it soon. My goal is to get my reviews, favorite s and follows to surpass that of my previous big story, Accidents Can Happen. I've almost hit the reviews and one of the others, so I'm pretty happy with howvthings are going.
With that being said, things are fixing to get sooooo much more interesting! I have enough planned to keep this story going for a long time :)
Although it'll get hard to keep the rating at T for some of the things coming lol.
Anyhoot, just like I promised, review time!
18Chad88- I'm having too much fun with this, tbh. Things will get better, but not too soon. Gotta let them adjust to each other, after all.
Creepingwillow9- how much are you freaking out? :3
Kinggamer- Here's another chapter for you to enjoy! *snickers*
Bearhow- lmao dude, wtf xD
Madlyhatted- the end? HA. Keep dreaming lol.
Rcktkid- more cuddles? I could arrange that. As for the cosplayers you couldn't identify: black robe with mash with strange metal tube: Darth Revan. Red overalls and red cap: Mario. Green sparkly dress (which I forgot to mention had glittery wings): Tinkerbell. Red robot with blue head: Optimus Prime. Purple dress, red wig: Daphne from Scooby Doo. And nah, not Control Freak. As for the shadowy hearts, think of cartoons. Then add Raven's powers. And yes, yes they did argue xD
Slayershero3- funny you should ask...
Disnerdmama- Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you like this one too :)
Mochafraptor- wait no longer my friend! *snickers*
Luis 519RS- ikr? Lol
OdaStrider- thank you :) I'm happy you like it. Have another chapter!
Guest- but its a good cliffhanger! *indignant frown*
Walker- damn sure wasn't what you were expecting, huh? :P
IHaveAFanficProblom- beautiful, wasn't it? It took a lot to make it to this point. As for the question about the doll...*shrugs* dunno dude.
HelpfulFred- The Icewind Dale Trilogy is what got me hooked on R.A. Salvatore. He is one of my two literary hero's. I hope I'm as good as him one day.
RPGPersona- Elliot? Really? *sighs* you just had to show me up on dragon knowledge, didn't you?
GolemXIV- oh, its worse for him lol.
Regalman17- tbh, I said the same thing.
Chaotic Cosmic- what? Me, plan something? Yer crazy. *coughs nervously*
Scarease- hello new reader! Glad you're enjoying this story! Just one thing...*puts hand on your shoulder and leans in to whisper* I know the difference between clones, artificial lifeforms, and homunculi...but what makes you think the Titans do?
Marco Polo- YES! SOMEBODY GOT IT! IM SO FREAKIN HAPPY NOW!
Dark Azarathian- Yaaaasssss! *Ace Venture dances* #noregrets
Mister Halt- lmao. And probably, BB did say he'd buy her more books.
BB-San- don't worry, this will be around for a long time!
Pandamonkey- more of mommy and daughter time? I could probably arrange that. As for her powers... Well, we'll get to that at one point :3
I-scream-for-bbrae- BUT WAIT, THERES MORE!
Anonymouse- yes, yes it was. Allen was my writing buddy for a while, we traded a number of ideas and brainstormed a few things. The two OCs in The White Stick (Allen's story), Blastermaster Al and Frankie Four Eyes, were designed by me, actually. I lent them to Al and, more recently, Bearhow.
Dynamite403- here's the next chapter for ya! Enjoy!
Booklover- I've been waiting since chapter one to write that scene lol. I can't tell you how glad I am to have finally gotten to it.
Kravinoff- we'll see man. Lol.
Now, ladies and gentleman...the next chapter! Read and review please, I love hearing from y'all!
"BB? What the heck are you doing in here this early?"
No answer.
"Uhhh…BB?"
No answer.
"Bro?"
No answer.
Cyborg frowned and rapped his knuckles on his buddies head. "Heeeellloooo? Anybody in there?"
No answer.
Cyborg's frown deepened. This was weird. His little green buddy was standing in the garage, slack jawed and eyes open. He was breathing, which was good, but he wasn't moving other than that. He was dressed in civvie clothes too, which meant he was trying to sneak out early. But why would BB sneak out?
He rapped his knuckles on Beast Boy's head again. Still no answer. An uneasy feeling overcame the cybernetic man before he decided to take drastic measures. He walked to the door and peered in the hall. Nobody was coming. Using his cybernetic systems, he locked the elevator door, the garage door, and the door he was standing at. Upon closing it, he stared at his best friend and contemplated the method to start with. There were some things other people just didn't need to witness and this was one of them. With a sigh, he approached his little brother and leaned down to his ear.
"F is for Friends who do stuff together, U is for You and meeee…" He sang, hoping his buddy would snap out of it upon hearing one of his favorite songs.
No such luck.
"Underpants!"
No answer.
"It's a one eyed, one horned, flying purple eater!"
Still no answer.
"Oh she wore an itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow poka dot bikini…"
Nothing.
Cyborg pulled away, frown deepening once more. This was serious, way more serious then that time Mad Mod hypnotized him. This was bad. What the heck could have happened to his little buddy?
"What's up Cy?"
The cybernetic man shrieked and jumped six feet straight up, coming down on the other side of Beast Boy. Whipping around, he found Robin casually leaning against the door, a smirk on his face.
"Damnit Rob, stop that ninja crap!" Cyborg shouted.
"Nothing ninja to it, Cyborg, you're just rusty." Robin was now grinning at his double entendre. Cyborg scowled.
"Very funny. Now help me fix BB."
Robin raised an eyebrow. "Fix? What's wrong with him?"
"Dunno. I found him like this a few minutes ago. Looks like he was trying to sneak out but something stopped him. Not sure about that anymore though. I think he's broken." Cyborg shrugged. Robin looked at his inert friend with a small frown.
"You know, I don't recall seeing him at all last night. Emelia and Raven, yeah, but not him."
Cyborg scratched his bald head. "Now this is just weird. Raven came into the common room last night humming and now we find BB practically turned to stone?"
Robin's frown deepened. "We need to snap him out of it."
"Got any ideas?"
"Maybe." Robin strode up to his friend and leaned in close. "Rose is here to see you and all she's wearing is a bikini."
Cyborg raised his sole eyebrow, but Beast Boy didn't move. Robin, undeterred, continued. "Rose is in your room, she found your magazine stash!"
Nothing.
"All those Japanese girls from Tokyo are here looking for you!"
Nothing.
"Cyborg beat your high score on Super Smash Bros Brawl or whatever its called."
Zip. Zilch. Zero.
"Cyborg's eating tofu!"
Cyborg raised an eyebrow even higher but the changeling did not even move. Robin took a step back, his frown growing even more. "This…this is bad."
Up in the kitchen, Starfire was confused. Very confused. It wasn't that her friend Cyborg had practically run from breakfast to work on friend Beast Boy's car, it wasn't that Robin had grown an evil grin and vanished seconds later, it wasn't that Emelia was carrying around a doll that looked like a Slogar (a nocturnal predator from Dranthax Eight that could and would eat anything it could get its claws on, including Tamaraneans), it wasn't that her friends Hot Spot and Argent had been sharing a room, nor was it that she had yet to see her friend Beast Boy at all.
What had her confused was that her dearest sister-friend Raven had been flitting around the kitchen all morning, humming cheerfully to herself.
"Friend Raven…are you okay?" Starfire asked carefully.
Raven paused, floating several feet off the floor as she set clean cups in a cabinet. A soft smile graced her lips and her eyes were far warmer than Star had ever seen them.
"Of course, Star." Raven replied, her voice absurdly soft and not monotonous at all. "I'm just…happy."
The alien princess tilted her head as she watched her friend. "What is it that has made you so joyous?"
Raven hesitated in mid-air, a trio of cups floating around her head, as she gazed at her friend. A sly smile found itself upon the empath's face. "Let's just say that I might have enjoyed myself a little too much yesterday."
Starfire tried to get Raven to explain what she meant, but the violet haired girl downright refused. It left the alien princess to ponder what exactly had happened to make her normally distant friend so…happy.
She also wondered about the little shadowy hearts that followed her friend as she left the room.
"Boobs!" Cyborg shouted into Beast Boy's pointy ear.
Nothing.
"Sweet baby Jesus, I'm running out of ideas." Cy said a moment later, running his hand across his hairless cranium.
Robin tapped his chin, thinking deeply. Just what could have happened to their friend? Last night Raven had come in happy, Emelia even more so, but Beast Boy hadn't been seen once. He remembered asking the empath where the shapeshifter was and she had replied with a soft smiled, "He was in the garage last time I saw him."
Wait…what if…
Robin stepped forward and pushed Cyborg to the side. The mechanical man complied, eyeballing his shorter friend. Robin leaned in close, looking at Beast Boy eye to eye.
"Beast Boy, Raven is looking for you. She wants to talk to you about last night."
The green boy immediately flinched, blinking rapidly for a moment before his eyes focused on his team leader. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before a squeaking noise that vaguely sounded like his voice came out. "She does?"
Robin and Cyborg exchanged glances. Something had happened between him and Raven?
"No." Cyborg said, shaking his head.
Beast Boy's shoulders sagged. "Oh."
"What happened?" Robin asked. "Have you been standing here all night?"
"All night?" Beast Boy echoed back, confused. "But we just got back."
Cyborg raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, about fifteen hours ago."
"Huh?"
Robin frowned again. "Beast Boy, you aren't making any sense. What happened?"
"Uh, well, we ran into this jerk, uh, yesterday, who said some nasty things about Rae." Garfield said, his eyes blinking rapidly as he forced himself to remember. "I told him off and told Rae a bunch of nice things about her. Then we came home and stood here talking for a moment and then she…she…"
Cyborg and Robin exchanged glances again before eyeballing the green boy in front of them.
"She what?" They asked simultaneously.
Garfield's mouth opened and closed several times before he found his voice. "I need to talk to Rose."
"Huh?" Both of his friends said in confusion.
But Beast Boy was already at the garage door, punching in the unlock code.
"Yo BB-"
"Be back in a bit!" The changeling shouted as he hopped in his car.
Within seconds, he was gone.
Cyborg looked at Robin. "Did you understand any of what just happened?"
Robin stared at the retreating tail lights in the underground tunnel that led back to the city, scratching his chin in thought.
"I'm not entirely certain…but I don't think things are going to be the same around here anymore."
Maaaaan, I HATE Mondays. Rose thought to herself as she leaned on the counter at work. She'd been there for two hours already and had already rearranged six racks, put out new shirts and pants, restocked the Gir backpacks, swept the floor, washed the display cases, and even watched a cat video or two.
But now she was out of things to do.
"Ugggggggh." She said, dropping her head onto the counter. This had to be the most boring undercover job on the whole damned planet. She wished someone would come in and try to steal so she could break their freaking sku-
"Rose!"
The white haired girl jerked her head up from the counter, noting the new smudge she could clean before she looked up to find a panting Beast Boy standing in the store doorway. He was dressed in some civvies that looked pretty good on him and appeared to have ran there.
"What's up BB?" She asked.
"I need to talk to you." He said, weaving through the racks of clothes and apparel with ease, not leaving so much as a single item fluttering in his wake. Rose raised an eyebrow at that. He normally hit every item on the way in, mostly because he was so clumsy. Something was…different.
"About?" She asked slowly, forcing herself to not reflexively reach for one of the various knives she had hidden on her body. If he had discovered who she was and was going to fight her before she could explain…
"Is your break any time soon?" He asked as he reached the counter.
Rose glanced at the clock. She could technically take a break now, assuming her boss wasn't asleep.
"Let me check." She said as turned toward the barely cracked office door. "HEY DUMBASS, I'M GOING ON BREAK!"
Beast Boy stared at her like she'd gone insane until the door creaked open and a sleepy looking dude in his mid twenties shuffled out yawning.
"Jesus, Rose, is that really any way to talk to your boss?" He scratched his beard and sighed.
"Oh shut up, I run this store more than you do." The girl snapped as she walked around the counter. Her boss, whose nametag read Mike, shuffled into her spot and leaned against it.
"Ready when you are." Rose said as she paused next to Beast Boy. He looked at Mike then her. She rolled her eyes. "He's fine and he doesn't really care. He sleeps eighty percent of his shift anyways."
"Well…okay." The changeling replied as he led the way out.
They made their way out of the store and towards the food court. It took a few minutes to traverse the crowds, especially outside the newly opened fashion store. Beast Boy thought Rose might take a peek, but she didn't even acknowledge the store's existence. It was one of the curious things about the white haired girl that he had never understood. While she was quite obviously a tomboy in personality, she dressed in nice, perfectly feminine clothes every day, usually showing off her toned and lithe figure. Seeing her not even glance at new clothes wasn't something the changeling really understood. He always stopped to check out new jeans, shirts, and boots.
But then again, Raven had even less interest in dressing up, so maybe it wasn't so weird for a girl to not be into fashion.
"So what's up?"
Beast Boy looked at Rose, who was sitting in a chair looking up at him in curiosity. He took a deep breath and sat down across from her.
"Okay, look. The reason I wanted to talk to you is because…I..um…well…" He trailed off, his resolve faltering as Rose leaned forward and leaned her head into her hand. Her strikingly beautiful blue eyes met his emerald ones and it caused a hiccup in his thinking as he realized his friendship with her was about to change. Damn…this is harder than I thought. He thought to himself as he ran a hand through his hair.
"You okay BB?" Rose asked, growing concerned with his silence.
"Look Rose…I…" Beast Boy growled to himself, irritated with his own cowardice. He had to do this. He took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Rose, but I can't be going on dates with you anymore."
It was a full five minutes before the shocked girl responded.
"Is this about the other night?" She said softly, clearly upset.
He shook his head. "No. It's just that…well…some stuff has come up and…I just can't do it any more."
Rose stared at him for a few more minutes before she sighed and looked down at the table. "It's Raven, isn't it?"
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Beast Boy said unsurely. He had no idea how to explain to her what was going on between him and the violet girl.
"I'll take that as a yes then." Rose propped her head up once more. "Damn. And here I thought I could have you to myself for a little while longer."
Garfield blinked at her in confusion. "Huh? You knew?"
She glanced up at him. "Duh. I knew when I gave you my number that something was going on between you two."
"But…there wasn't anything…"
Rose rolled her eyes now. "Yeah right. Everybody and their mother knows you two are practically inseparable."
Now he was really confused. "What are you talking about? There's been plenty of times where we're apart, more than just physically."
"Yeah, but you two always make up."
Garfield stared at her. How could she know that?
"Don't look at me like that, anybody with access to YouTube can watch videos of you guys in action and after the action. It doesn't take an idiot to put two and two together." Rose huffed, hoping he wouldn't call her bluff.
Fortunately, he didn't.
"Oh. I guess that makes sense." He said, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck. "Uh, so, if you knew I had a thing for Rae…why did you give me your number that day? Why have we been…"
"Look, Beast Boy. You're a sweet but dorky guy, which, as I discovered a few years ago, is totally my type. Raven herself said you two weren't a couple, so I couldn't let the opportunity pass me by, now could I?" She paused, letting a bit of sadness into her voice. "Besides…I was having a lot of fun with you."
He thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Yeah…I guess I can understand that. And for what its worth…I had a lot of fun with you too."
Rose gave him a little shrug before silence ensued. It was Beast Boy who broke it.
"So…you're not mad?" He ventured carefully.
Rose shrugged. "If I was, there's nothing to do about it. You're head over heels for Raven, I already knew that. Her returning those feelings…not really a surprise either."
"It's not?" The changeling asked, his brow furrowed. "Whaddaya mean?"
Rose raised an eyebrow. "Yer joking, right?"
"No dude, I'm not."
"I swear, you superheroes are so dense." Rose rolled her eyes with a grumble.
"Come on Rose, what did you mean?" Garfield pleaded.
Rose shook her head. "Nope. Go figure it out for yourself."
He frowned. "Rose…"
She shook her head again. "I'm not repeating myself, BB."
The changeling sighed and ran his hand through his hair once more. He gazed at the girl before him, her own gaze on the table as she sat there sullenly. He really, really hated himself for doing this to her, but he just couldn't keep doing it. It wasn't right and he honestly had no idea why he had jumped at it to begin with.
Er, wait, a cute girl was actually interested in me, that's why. He thought to himself. And like the idiot I am, I jumped right on that bandwagon without thinking that things could change between me and Rae so soon.
"Hey BB?"
The changeling was jerked from his thoughts. "Yeah?"
"Can we…still hang out every now and then?" Rose asked quietly. "I'm not from Jump, I've only been here about a year, so I don't really have any friends. Well, I've got Jade, but she spends most of her time in Steel City with Roy."
Beast Boy instantly nodded. "Of course, dude. I don't ditch my friends, no matter what's going on."
Rose looked up at him, eyebrow raised. "You don't think Raven will mind?"
He chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, she's doesn't strike me as the jealous type."
Rose stared at him for a good, long moment. It started to worry the changeling, but that turned into confusion when Rose started cracking up.
"Oh my god, you're serious!" Rose giggled, dropping her head onto the table.
Beast Boy was flabbergasted. "What did I say this time?!"
Rose kept giggling, slamming her hand onto the table. Beast Boy's ears drew back in irritation and he let out a low growl. He didn't mind being picked on or teased but this was just downright disrespectful. Rose either ignored him or didn't notice because she kept right on giggling, tears in her eyes now.
"Nice to know me being serious is funnier than me telling jokes." He said sarcastically.
"Jesus, you sound like Raven now!" Rose doubled over with even more giggles, leaving her friend scowling.
"If all you're gonna do is laugh at me, then I'm going home!" Beast Boy grumbled.
"Then you better get going!" She laughed. "'Cause I'm not stopping!"
The green boy stood up from his seat and pulled out his car keys, grumbling to himself. "I swear, you girls make no sense to me."
Rose suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him into a hug, startling the boy and almost making him lose his balance. It was an awkward angle for a tight hug, but he managed to wrap his arms around her and squeeze back.
"Thanks for the memories, Beast Boy." She said softly into his shoulder.
"No problem Rose. Any time." Garfield replied, releasing her. With a final nod, he turned away and left.
The white haired girl watched him walk away, her mind in turmoil. Technically, her mission was complete now. Well, her unofficial mission was. Her official mission wasn't even remotely completed and she had no intentions on completing it at all.
But because she had spent months getting to know this boy, she had genuinely come to care for him. The first few dates had been part of her plan to begin with, but everything afterwards had simply spiraled out of control. She didn't mind, of course, he was a fun guy to be with. He made her laugh, he made her smile, he listened to a few stories, told a lot of his own. He never said a word about her hair, never judged her for being a tomboy, never blinked twice when she wanted to do something odd, never hesitated to cheer her up after a rough day at her undercover job.
He was so much like Eddie that it hurt to see him leave.
She sighed miserably and dropped her head back onto the table. Raven is so lucky. She thought to herself. She should have hooked up with him sooner. Maybe then it wouldn't hurt so much.
She was halfway through another sigh when her phone went off.
"Rose here. What's up?" She said into the microphone, not having bothered with checking called ID. Jade rarely called, so it must be something impor-.
"My dear Rose." A dark and foreboding voice spoke from the other end of the line. "Your acting skills have gotten better. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were moping over a boy."
All the air left her body for a moment as she struggled to reply. When she did, it was weak.
"Hello Father."
"Tell me, how does it feel to be abandoned again? To watch a boy give up on you when things are just getting started? It was bad enough that your mother and brothers abandoned you, but now it's not one, but two boys that have done it as well. Do you finally appreciate that I've always been there for you?"
"What do you want, dad?" Rose asked quietly, refusing to take his bait. That was asking for more trouble than her heart could take right now.
"My property." He said darkly. "I've grown tired of waiting. Do you have it?"
"No sir, I-"
"I don't want excuses, child, I want results."
Rose flinched. "I-I just need a little more time to-"
"You've had your time, child, and too much of mine. It's obvious to me that you can't handle the task. You are to go on standby during Phase Two."
"What?! No, I can handle this! We don't need-"
"Obviously you do." Her father said coldly. "Otherwise you would have already returned to me with what belongs to me. But you haven't."
"I just need a little more time!" She said frantically into the phone. Everything was falling apart too fast.
"You had your chance and failed. Remain under cover until further notice." He said before hanging up the phone.
Rose pulled the phone away from her and stared at it in horror. He had been watching her the whole time, closely enough to know of her 'relationship' with Beast Boy and that it was over. He hadn't trusted her from the beginning, which was a good thing because she was responsible for this whole mess to begin with.
All of this because I fell in love with Eddie. She thought bitterly, dropping her head to the table once more. That stupid boy…this is all his fault.
But just like every other time she thought of him, it ended in tears.
Flipping his phone shut, Rose's father sat quietly in his chair, staring out over the city. He watched the various vehicles far below him drive about their business, unknowing of the things going on in the shadows around them. It made the man ponder his own plans. Although things had been set back twice now, his plans were still quite salvageable. All he needed were the children, specifically the girl. She had power and that was what he needed.
There was a dinging noise behind him and he turned his chair to greet his visitor.
"What the hell are you doing in my office?" An angry voice called out. The man in the chair gazed upon an irate bald man in a very expensive suit, a platinum blonde girl at his side, dressed sharply in a blue suit of her own, and a very dangerous look in her eye.
"Calm yourself, Luthor." The seated man said. "I have a business proposal for you."
Lex Luthor, number one enemy of Superman, billionaire businessman, and one of the most brilliant men on the planet, eyed the man who had broken into his office. A very dangerous man.
"What do you want?" He said gruffly, keeping his distance from the probably armed mercenary.
The seated man, his hands visibly empty, gestured to the desk before him and Luthor cautiously approached, his bodyguard at his side, and peered downward out of curiosity. He eyeballed a number of pictures. "The Teen Titans? What about them?"
The man before him pointed at several things. "Those are my property, taken from me. I want them back."
Luthor raised an eyebrow. "And this has to do with me because…?"
"Aren't you concerned with the safety of these children? The self-righteous heroes have blatantly disregarded child safety laws and endanger these children every day."
"I'm waiting for where I'm supposed to give a damn." Luthor said with a snort.
"Think of it this way: these children, two of which don't belong here, are breaking the law every day with no consequence. What's to stop, say, Superman, from taking the same liberties?"
Luthor paused, his mind processing what had been emphasized. "What do you mean, don't belong here?"
"Neither is from the United States, let alone Earth."
Luthor raised an eyebrow, a grin starting to form on his face. "And are they-"
"Not the least bit. And with our current presidents views on such things…" The seated man trailed off.
Luthor really did grin now. "Interesting. And come to think of it, Superman isn't either. Or Martian Manhunter."
"Precisely. Good to see that you're catching on. My associates and I will be… discussing… things with them about this dreadful transgression before too long. All I need you to do is have the camera ready."
"Well, I see where you're coming from now. I can see the merits of such a situation." Luthor said, holding his hand out. "Business proposal accepted, Deathstroke."
The one eyed mercenary extended his own hand and grasped Luthor's. "Good to do business with you, Luthor."
"Good, now get out of my chair."
Beast Boy hopped out of his car, humming cheerfully to himself. Despite having had to cut most of his ties with Rose, he couldn't help but to be ecstatic about how things were between him and Raven. After all, last night she had kissed him. Him! And it wasn't a light peck on the cheek, it was an actual KISS! His first kiss!
It did occur to him that he had once told her that he wanted his first kiss to be with the girl he spends the rest of his life with. And since she was the one who kissed him, it meant that not only did she have feelings for him, but that she wanted a commuted relationship! That meant kisses and hugs galore!
Well, maybe not just yet. Raven had never been a touchy feely kind of person. He didn't even know if she liked kissing yet. Or hugging. Well, she had given him a few hugs before, so maybe she was okay with them? It might be better for him to ask for hugs and kisses first, at least until she got used to them. They had held hands at the convention, which was a step down from hugs and kisses, so she must be at least kinda okay with touching. He could take his time, they weren't going anywhere. And maybe after that, cuddling! That would be soooo awesome! She was soft and squishy and smells amazing!
Beast Boy bounded through the hallway, his enthusiasm and excitement fueling his legs towards the dark beauty of his dreams. She was with Emelia and the others in the common room and she was calm and thoughtful with a tinge of warmth that he was certain was directed towards him.
Within minutes he was jumping through the doorway to where everyone was, his adrenaline pumping hard enough through his veins for him to have barely noticed the multi-story climb he had just taken.
Raven was already looking towards him, a small smile on her face.
"Welcome home." She said softly.
Garfield grinned and hopped clean over the couch to sit next to her. Ignoring the strange looks his friends gave him, he turned to the violet haired girl beside him. He didn't even register the fact that a hotdog sat on a plate before her.
"Heya Rae. Sorry I wasn't here this morning, I had something that I needed to take care of." He said with a huge grin. Raven raised an eyebrow, an amused look in her eyes.
"Is that so?" She said. "And just what would that…be…"
Raven trailed off, her face scrunching up as she inhaled deeply. Garfield returned her raised brow with one of his own.
"You were with her." She said quietly before he could ask what was wrong. He nodded, wondering how she knew.
"Uh, yeah. I had to-" He managed to stammer before she cut him off.
"I see." She said before standing up abruptly. Garfield jerked back in surprise.
"Rae?" He asked as she walked around the couch and headed for the door. "Where ya going?"
"Nowhere that concerns you." She said coldly, pulling her hood up. Alarms rang in the changelings head and back over the couch he went. He caught up to the irate empath in seconds and grabbed her wrist.
"Rae, wait, let me explain!"
She ripped her arm from him and glared at him. "It's Raven, not Rae. And I don't care."
"Raven, I went to brea-" He started before she cut him off once more.
"I don't care!" She snarled so ferociously that Garfield actually took a step back from her in fear. A dark growl rose in her throat and her eyes flashed red, making the hairs stand up on the back of everyone's necks.
"Rae?" Garfield said softly, reaching out for her hesitantly.
She was still growling at him. "Don't touch me."
And then she left, leaving her confused friends behind and an even more confused Garfield standing there, wondering just what the hell he did wrong.
a/n: everything is progressing beautifully, y'all just don't know. *evil laughter*
