Yay! Another chapter already! I hope I'm going strong for you guys, luckily university isn't too much in the way for me to write my chapters nowadays. So, onto reviews!

.

I'm glad having Whis and Beerus around is enjoying for you guys, only sad part is that they... won't be involved for much longer though.

**Okay, and onto Warmachine375 for probably the longest ever review I've received, holy crap. First things first, thank you for enjoying my story! I really appreciate it! Whether the rest of Team Natsu will be learning to use their Ki is likely to unlikely, I don't want to stray away too much from their magic if I happen to go in the direction of learning Ki. While Erza and Mirajane have learned it, I've found that, while Mirajane doesn't get into battles too often than Erza has, it's not as much for her either compared to Natsu, Wendy, Lucy or Gray. It'd definitely be a cool touch for them to learn Ki, but I'm still on the fence about it.

I can definitely make another Yusuke vs Gildarts happen, but it'll probably in the far future if I happen to do so.

Now I did mention that Beerus and Whis is most likely not going to be involved any further, but that doesn't mean there won't be a God Slayer Magic user vs a God in the future.

It'd definitely be interesting to go over the rest of the Wizards Saints, maybe in the 100 year quest there's a possibility. The only thing I'm not a fan of doing is making up my own OCs in that regard, I'm not the best at some creative magics that Mashima might come up with so I'll just leave that up to him. As far as existing Wizards Saints go, I can definitely do some sort of power scaling, but we've seen little action from them so it'll be a bit tough.

Putting in Rune Knights can be tough, unfortunately Mashima really didn't put them in too often for us to see their full potential. Whether I can make up a scenario to try and fit them in can really depend on where I take the story. But I really like your concept on the rankings of the Rune Knights, it's well thought out and definitely something I wouldn't have thought of in the first place.**

As far as I have it, Cana will not be put in the harem, she's still just a close friend to Yusuke at this point. Ultear is very tempting, but I might only touch on her the same way as I have with Cana. As far as Lucy or Jenny goes, I have no plans for them unfortunately. At this point, only Erza and Mirajane are in and that's it. Good try though haha.

.

That pretty much wraps up the reviews I gotta go over, thank you very much to those that enjoyed last chapter as well! Hope you'll continue the journey. This IS the start of the Tenrou Arc, finally. Make sure not to skip anything over! I made... several changes.

Onwards!

Birds chirped in the early morning as they travelled from tree to tree, calling for one another constantly to attract attention. They shook their bodies to ruffle the feathers on them, and as they traveled under the beams of sunlight through the crack of the leaves, small cold winds brushed past the trees and the grassy field nearby.

Five people waited by the field, and they weren't unfamiliar with the area as they came here mostly everyday to train.

In some new outfits, Yusuke and Ann waited patiently for the God of Destruction and his attendant to arrive. The male, still wearing his silver locket around his neck, now wore a black Gi with a white undershirt, sash, wristbands and boots while the female wore a gray Gi, black undershirt, bands and sash, and white boots.

It was rather refreshing to wear martial arts clothing again after so long, courtesy to the package the Time Patrollers received the day before. Marissa wore her usual vest and sneakers with a white undershirt and light blue jeans this time around, feeling brand new in the clothes she wore as well. Erza and Mirajane however, wore their usual outfit for training since the first day they've set out having Yusuke as their teacher.

A pillar of rainbow light suddenly struck down a distance away from the group as a strong wind was felt by them. A moment later the light died down to reveal Beerus and Whis with the former behind the Angel, and they both began walking towards the Saiyan's

"Well good morning to all of you. I hope you all had plenty of rest." Whis said in a casual tone.

'Kinda…' Marissa thought to herself, yawning a bit as she went to bed late at night after organizing about half the mess she made.

The rest nodded their heads, and Yusuke couldn't help but see an agitated and annoyed look from the Deity.

"Is Lord Beerus alright?" The male Saiyan asked.

"I'm fine!" Beerus replied with a sneer, causing the Saiyan to flinch a bit.

"We've… ran into some peculiar things through our time exploring." Whis said with a small sweatdrop.

"What is out there anyway? Don't think there is much…" Ann asked.

"There are certainly other planets in this universe, however it's nothing too much to fret over. You were right however, it seems no Supreme Kais exists here." Whis answered.

"Then that means no existing God of Destruction here either…" Yusuke muttered.

"But, we aren't here to simply talk, now are we? Your training with me begins now, and I do hope you'll be able to keep up." Whis said.

"I'm ready." The male replied.

"So am I." Ann responded, taking a few steps forward.

"Very well then." Whis nodded, and from the side of his vision he saw Beerus walking away towards the trees to lay under the shade. "We only have a little over a week, so make the best of it. First off…"

The Angel went ahead and let go of his staff as it floated away from him, and floating in the air himself, he moved back from both the Saiyans.

"If I have learned anything from Goku and Vegeta and most likely from Saiyan's overall is that they learn the best as they battle. I do wish to make one more assessment from you both." Whis began explaining, and went into a fighting stance, positioning his arms in front of him with his right hand touching his left forearm, his left hand and fingers extending outward. He didn't crouch or move his legs, and looked at the Saiyan's observantly. "I want you to try and land a hit on me."

Yusuke and Ann, sighed in frustration.

"Isn't that what they were trying to do yesterday against him?" Mirajane asked the Earthling, while pointing towards the Deity under the tree a ways away.

"This is different… Whis is on a completely different level than Lord Beerus. They'd be lucky to even get close." Marissa answered.

"I suppose we'll see now." Erza said, seeing both Saiyan's take their fighting stance.

Yusuke was the first to move, leaping towards the Angel with a side kick, and everyone saw Whis fluidly weaved to the side. Next was Ann, appearing right behind the attendant with a swing of her arm. With closed eyes, Whis dodged again fluidly as he ducked forward, and swiftly grabbed ahold of her wrist and threw her towards the male Saiyan, colliding with each other as they both landed on the ground.

With some confusion, the three that watched by the side could only blink at what had just happened.

"Whoa…" Marissa muttered.

"... that was so fast…" Mirajane slowly said with wide eyes.

'The way he moved… it seemed… so unnatural but natural at the same time…' Erza thought in her with narrowed eyes.

They saw Yusuke and Ann leap off the ground once more at the same time and charged towards Whis, starting their chain of attacks against the Angel.

Almost as a repeat of their battle with Beerus, both Saiyan's couldn't touch Whis at all. Their attacks were fast, and it wasn't a surprise. What was surprising was that the attendant to the God wasn't blocking at all, instead all he did was dodge, weaving his body just the slightest to avoid being attacked.

All of sudden, Whis went past the both of them, and grabbed the back of the collar of their Gi, and threw them back down on the ground in front of the three other Fairy Tail members that were watching with a small plume of dust blowing away from them.

"...ow." Yusuke simply said, and got back up with a slight wince. Ann grunted in annoyance, and stood up at the same time as he did before patting herself off.

"The both of you are very similar to how Vegeta fought in the past, and it shows. Your body moves from your thoughts, and because of that you attack just a moment later, more than enough time for your opponent to react." Whis began explaining, landing softly on the grass in front of them, and brought his floating staff over to him. "However-"

"If you're able to let your body react for you, then you'll be safe from any danger." Ann finished saying for him, crossing her arms.

"Exactly." Whis replied with a smile.

"In a week though? We definitely won't be able to get any progress just focusing on that…" Yusuke said.

"Perhaps not, so we will be focusing on something else entirely. Ki control." Whis answered, and it caught the attention of the S-Class mages.

The Saiyans looked at each other before looking ahead again, and closed their eyes. They relaxed their bodies considerably, easing up the tension within them.

After some time however, Whis chuckled to himself while behind them, Marissa sweat dropped. Yusuke and Ann opened their eyes and looked away from the Angel, their faces red from some embarrassment.

"Not as easy as it sounds, now is it?" Whis commented.

"What did they do? All they did was, lower their energy…" Erza muttered confusion.

"It's exactly as you say, and that's all they did unfortunately." The Angel said, looking at the redhead briefly before back at the Saiyans. "They will need to practice raising their power, but at the same time keeping it within them. Doing this is harder than it sounds, as they are very much used to powering up with their energy going wild around them."

"... but what is the point of doing that?" Mirajane asked in wonder.

"Keep your energy within you, then your opponent won't be able to sense you. Along with that, you become so much more powerful without your Ki constantly leaking out." Marissa explained, and looked over at the spot where Beerus laid. "It's why we can't sense Lord Beerus, Whis… Black…"

Even now, Erza looked away at the mention of Black, narrowing her eyes as she felt a stinging sensation as she clenched her hands.

"It can give you the edge in battle, but it's so hard to master." Marissa added in.

"Today, we'll be doing just that. It won't happen in just a few hours, so I hope you're ready to be here for awhile." Whis said nonchalantly.

With another quiet sigh from both of the Saiyan's, they both closed their eyes, and concentrated as they continued their training for the day.

The day went by into the afternoon, and back in the Fairy Tail guild hall it was currently packed full with guild members who were standing in front of the stage within the hall.

There was a lot of ongoing commotion, a few with knowing looks and those who were newer in joining Fairy Tail, were confused. A certain blonde especially as she arrived just in time to see the group of members all bunched up together with excitement, and looking past them to see the stage covered with curtains from both sides. Seeing this, Lucy looked around in wonder, and saw Cana with a small smile, bouncing a bit on her heels.

"Cana, what's going on?" Lucy asked, walking over to her.

"Hey Lucy, you didn't know? It's that time of the year." Cana answered.

"... for what?" The blonde asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I think you'll find out right now." The brunette said, looking back at the stage.

As soon as Lucy looked forward as well, the curtains on the stage suddenly opened up to reveal Makarov, Erza, Mirajane and just behind them, Gildarts. All of a sudden the members in front began cheering and clapping, a bit more confusion set upon Lucy, and she looked towards Cana for a moment to see her with a confident smile.

Makarov coughed into his hand, getting the members undivided attention before he began talking.

"A few setbacks has happened recently, however that isn't going to stop our tradition in Fairy Tail… and so right now, I will announce the S-Class mage advancement examinees!" Makarov announced, and even more cheering erupted within the building as it slightly shook from the excitement.

"S-Class mage advancement exams?!" Lucy said in surprise.

"And the testing grounds for it this year will be at… Tenrou Island! Our guild's holy ground." Makarov announced once more, making the members mutter in surprise and more excitement.

"What do you exactly do in these exams?" The blonde asked the Card mage.

"A lot of things, but it's not consistent. The test changes each year, so who knows what Master has in store this time around." Cana answered.

"I've been observing everyone's spirits! Heart! Determination! And so I've come to the eight participants for this years test!

"Natsu Dragneel!

"Gray Fullbuster!

"Juvia Loxar!

"Elfman Strauss!

"Cana Alberona!

"Freed Justine!

"Levy McGarden!

"Mest Gryder!"

As soon as Makarov announced the member's names of this years S-Class mentioned mostly cheered in celebration of being this years participants. Others that weren't called, sighed in defeat and deflated.

"Wow…! Cana, congrats! I hope you'll do well!" Lucy said with a large smile towards the brunette.

"Thanks Lucy… hopefully I do better this year." Cana answered with, her smile faltering a bit.

"This isn't your first time?"

"No… and hopefully this will be my last on a good note."

"This year there will only be one winner! The exam will happen one week from now, so the eight of you better be well prepared by then." Makarov continued, and the announcement of only having one mage being promoted to S-Class shocked a few of the members in the crowd. "And because we've had quite a few newcomers this year, the rules will be explained."

Mirajane stepped forward, catching attention as she began to speak.

"The chosen eight participants will be choosing a partner that is not another participant within the week of preparation. Only two rules apply in choosing a partner. First: They must be a Fairy Tail member. And second: They are already not an existing S-Class mage." Mirajane explained first, until Erza stepped forward as well with crossed arms.

"These are the only two rules… is what we'd like to say. But with recent events, a new rule is now in effect along with the first two." Erza began saying, causing some of the members to mutter in wonder. "The new third rule is that there are three people who absolutely cannot be your partners in this S-Class exam and be in future exams."

The Knight held up three fingers, and grinned. "The three people are: Yusuke Yasai, Ann Palarillias, and Marissa Lysis. Since it's these three, I'm sure you all understand why."

A wave of agreement was talked amongst the members, nodding their heads in understanding at the new rule being implemented.

"We will be announcing the specifics of the exam once we reach Tenrou Island, and just like last time, Erza will be in your way." Makarov announced further, causing some of the members that are participating to groan.

"Not only that, I'll be blocking your path as well!" Mirajane chirped, raising her hand in glee, causing the members to scream in shock again. Elfman especially at the revealment of her older sister being apart of the exam.

"Erza and Mira… that's going to be a tough challenge…" Lucy muttered in surprise, eyes wide.

"That isn't all…" Gildarts stepped forward as well with a grin of his own, and the members began gasping. "No one ever said that the exams were easy."

"No way…!" Natsu shouted in excitement rather than worry, stars in his eyes.

"Don't get fired up from that…!" Gray chided.

"The selected members and their partners will meet at Port Hargeon in one weeks time. That is all!" Makarov announced once more before the crowd of guild members began dispersing.

"I can't wait to become S-Class! Finally!" Natsu said in excitement, igniting his hands on fire.

"Don't look forward to it, because I'll be the one to take it." Gray said with a grin.

"I won't be a man if I don't become S-Class! I'll be the one to get it!" Elfman shouted.

"Still, it's your guys first time… I'm surprised you haven't been picked in the past." Lucy commented.

The group of four including Juvia, Lisanna, Wendy, Carla, and Happy all sat around a table, conversed among themselves about the test next week. Those that are participants are… mostly excited, perhaps excluding one member.

"Is it possible for Juvia to resign…?" Juvia meekly asked, fidgeting.

"Now why would you want to do that?" Lisanna asked with a small laugh.

"I… mm…" The rain women couldn't say her reason, and continued fidgeting as she looked down at her hands.

"Have you chosen your partner already, Natsu?" Lucy asked.

"You bet! My best friend of course!" Natsu exclaimed, pointing his thumb towards Happy.

"Aye! I'll make Natsu S-Class for sure!" Happy jumped.

"So because we only got a week, we're gonna head off and train! See ya guys!" The Fire Dragonslayer yelled, and began sprinting out of the guild with the blue Exceed cheering for him, and flew by his side as they both exited the building.

"Speaking of partners, I have mine already. Lucy, I'm gonna say sorry in advance as well." Gray spoke up, surprising the celestial and water mage.

'My dear Gray already has a partner?!' Juvia frighteningly thought.

"Wait, why are you apologizing to me?" Lucy asked confusingly.

"Because Gray's partner is me."

A new, but familiar voice among the group sitting at the table was heard, and they looked behind them to see one of Lucy's faithful Celestial Spirits appear as he adjusted his glasses.

"Loke?!" Lucy exclaimed.

"It's been a while everyone, I hope you're all doing well." Loke said with a wave of his hand.

"You're Gray's partner?" Eflman asked skeptically.

"Yup. It's a promise the both of us made last year. Don't worry though Lucy, I passed through the gate with my own magic, so you won't have to worry about yours being used up." Loke explained with an apologetic smile.

"I guess… but man, this is a surprise." The blonde commented.

"But part of rules is that the partner has to be apart of Fairy Tail." Elfman said.

"Oh don't worry about that…" Loke said, and began taking off his suit jacket, untying his tie and unbuttoning his dress shirt. He turned around to expose his back, taking his shirt half-off to reveal the green Fairy Tail symbol stamped onto him. "I'm still a mage of Fairy Tail, and in my pride as a guild member, I'll do everything in my power to make Gray an S-Class mage."

"I'm counting on you Loke." Gray said with a grin.

"Leave it to me." The spirit replied with a determined grin of his own.

"Were you two always this friendly before…?" Lucy muttered off to the side.

"Juvia, don't worry, I'll be your partner!" Lisanna spoke up, surprising the mentioned woman and the Strauss brother.

"What?!" Both Juvia and Elfman exclaimed.

"I got along well with the Juvia back on Edolas, and I still feel that kind of connection with his Juvia too!" The youngest Strauss sibling said with a smile.

"Lisanna…" Juvia muttered in surprise, but didn't sound declining.

"Alright, it's decided then! I'll make you S-Class, no doubt about that!" Lisanna cheered, clapping her hands.

"... does she want to get close to Gray as well…" Juvia muttered with a pout, causing Lucy to sweat drop as she heard her.

"B-But what about me Lisanna? I won't have a partner then!" Elfman exclaimed.

"Are you sure? I've been seeing someone have their eyes on you as well." Lisanna said.

"...huh?"

"Look." Lisanna pointed towards the bar, and as Eflman looked to the direction she pointed, they both saw one of the members of the Thunder God Tribe looking at them.

Evergreen.

Elfman gulped when he saw her gaze, the memory of her beating him back then rushing back to his head.

"It looks like she's mad that Freed chose Bickslow as his partner over her." Lisanna said.

"Yeah but… it really looks like she might turn me into stone instead..." Elfman responded with a shiver.

As the group conversed, Lucy was suddenly wrapped with two arms around her neck from behind her, causing her to yelp, and she looked to the side as Cana came into view with a wide grin on her while holding a bottle of beer.

"Lucy! Be my partner!" Cana declared.

"H-Huh?! Me?! But…" Lucy stuttered in surprise.

"Cana, you're… unusually excited for the exam this time around. N-Not like that's a bad thing…" Loke said, and went on the defensive.

"Well, things can change, can't they? I'm feeling good this time around." Cana responded, getting up and placing her hands on Lucy's shoulders and grinned wider. "So, how about it Lucy?"

"But… why me…? I've only just joined recently. Are you sure there isn't anyone else that's a better choice?" Lucy said with slight insecurity.

"Come on, you and your spirits and me and my cards? It'll be like a hundred of us against everyone else!"

"Well… I only have fourteen in total…"

"That's more than enough!"

"..." Lucy looked down in contemplation, and fidgeted her hands in her lap. Could she really support Cana in a test where everyone will compete against one another to become an S-Class mage? S-Class… just having that thought resonated within her that made her shiver in anticipation before she thought about the experience she could have. The experience of being apart of an S-Class exam, something she could be in down the line. Just that thought brought a shine to her eyes, and she looked up at the Card mage with a determined look. "Okay!"

"Yes! We're gonna win this!" Cana squeezed the blonde's shoulder before fist pumping the air.

"Win what?"

A new voice caught their attention, but familiar as well to most, and they turned to see Marissa walking towards them.

"Man, the guild seems more livelier today, did something happen?" The Earthling asked, resting her arms on top of the booth they were sitting at, and stood next to Cana.

"Oh that's right… you don't know about the exams taken in Fairy Tail each year, do you Marissa?" Lisanna asked.

"E-Exams…? Like, with paper and pencil and all of that?" Marissa said in fright, and she began to sweat.

"No…" Lisanna replied with a laugh. "S-Class exams. It's to promote the chosen members to compete against each other. The winner that comes out on top will be upgraded to an S-Class mage, and they'll be able to take on harder missions and be more recognized."

"Oohh… how can I sign up?" Marissa asked with excitement.

"Uh… eheh…" Lisanna nervously chuckled in response.

"Sorry Marissa, but you won't be able to. Master's the only one who chooses which members take it. And you're not one of them." Cana explained.

"Not only that… they even had to make a new rule so that you, Yusuke, and Ann can't be part of it as well…" Wendy added in with a regretful look towards her but with a small smile.

"Nothing against them, but it's a smart rule." Carla said with a teasing smile.

"Aww… oh well…" Marissa whined a bit, and rested her chin on top of her arms before blinking twice. "Wait, really? They really had to do that for us?"

"Considering it's you three… it only makes sense." Gray said.

"Huh… Honestly, we probably would've refused, it really wouldn't have been fair for others. Well, I would at least…" The Earthling said with a chuckle. "So who got picked for the exam?"

"I did!" Cana said, raising her hand.

"So did I." Gray responded with a hand up as well before pointing forward. "Juvia and Elfman here too."

"And Natsu, who just left. Levy, Freed, and Mest did as well for eight in total." Lucy added in.

"Well congratulations to you guys, hope you guys do well… who's Mest though? It's the first time I'm hearing his name." Marissa wondered.

"Really? He's been here for awhile. He was even a candidate last year for the exam." Loke said.

"He's one of the guys I'm a little worried about, he was close to winning last year too." Gray commented.

"Really? He must be some guy." The Time Patroller said.

"Yeah, he's over there right now." Cana said, pointing to their left, and Marissa followed it.

As the Earthling looked, she saw a man with very short black hair look away. Marissa saw an X-shaped scar on his face over his left eye, a single earring on his left ear, wore a red, long sleeved shirt that almost acted like a coat, where orange stripes ran vertically down and his collar and sleeve flared out, and wore dark brown pants.

She was confused for a little bit, seeing this person for the very first time since she's been in Fairy Tail. However, knowing she has only been in the guild for a very short time and seeing how others knew him, she shrugged a bit and directed her attention back to the others.

"Yusuke and Ann didn't come with you?" Lucy asked.

"They're still training… and they're not gonna be done for awhile." Marissa answered with a sigh and a shake of her head.

"Are they gonna be there the whole day or something? Cana questioned.

"Yeah, pretty much. They only have about a week, so they need to make the most out of it." Marissa replied.

"Uh huh… c'mon Lucy, let's go pay them a visit!" The brunette said.

"Wait, really? Why me too?" Lucy asked.

"Because you're my partner in the test! We gotta stick together, now come on." Cana went and grabbed the blonde's arm, and started dragging her out.

"O-Okay! Calm down Cana!" Lucy stuttered, skipping a bit so that she doesn't fall forward before the both of them were seen leaving the guild.

"This is a surprise… Cana's really looking forward to the S-Class exam this year…" Elfman said.

"No kidding… I wonder what changed." Gray said, looking back at the others at the table after seeing both women leave the building.

"You mean it's not usually like this with her?" Marissa questioned.

"She's been chosen to take part in becoming S-Class five times in a row now, this year being her fifth time. I think it was after the first time she was chosen she felt really depressed after being picked again the year after. But this time around, it's different. Not really a bad thing though." Gray explained.

"... any reason why she would get depressed?"

"Maybe on not becoming S-Class, that's likely the reason. Not sure if there's anything else that would factor it in." Loke said.

"Well, good luck to her then… what's this about partners?" Marissa asked next.

"Each participants are allowed to choose one other Fairy Tail member that isn't an S-Class, or one of you three to help them in the exam." Lisanna explained, giving a teasing look at the Patroller.

"Heh… I'm still not sure if I should be honored or offended…" Marissa replied with a sweatdrop.

"It was pretty funny when Erza introduced the rule, but it makes sense since it's you three."

"Yeah… oh well…" Marissa shrugged in resignation. '... but that doesn't mean I don't have to come along…'

Marissa gave off a scheming smile before conversing with the others back at the table. Just off to the side, unknown to her, however, Mest observed her within the guild, just far away enough from being noticed with narrowed eyes.

"It looks like it might snow soon…" Cana muttered, looking up at the sky as she and Lucy walked on the stone road.

The sun and blue skies had been covered up throughout the day with dark clouds, and the wind that was present in the previous night had picked up through the city. It had gotten considerably colder, and the citizens in Magnolia were preparing for the expected snow to fall.

"Cana, why do you want to see Yusuke?" Lucy asked, after having been dragged out of the guild by the brunette.

"It's just… I know he's working hard right now for a lot of reasons. You see the problems he and Ann has and then compare them to ours… there's a huge gap. And, I want to thank him."

"Thank him…?"

"Lucy… how're things with you and father?" Cana asked all of a sudden, surprising the blonde slightly.

"My dad…? We haven't really been in touch since then. What brought this up?" Lucy asked, trying to pry some answers from the Card mage.

"I… was honestly thinking of leaving the guild actually…" Cana hesitantly said, looking away from her, and her partner stopped as she was now ahead of her a few steps.

"What?!" Lucy barked, looking at her wide-eyed, watching Cana stop to look behind her with a sad smile.

"It sounds really stupid, doesn't it?"

"I-I mean… if your reason is strong enough, but I don't think I have the right to force you to stay…"

"Except that was yesterday… when Yusuke challenged that person, he wasn't even sure if he could win. I was so mad at him, because even I knew we could have died at that moment." Cana began explaining as she continued walking, prompting Lucy to follow after her before being by her side. "Then… we didn't. They didn't win but… they did their best. Even I could see that. And even now, they're still working hard."

They both continued walking through Magnolia, another cold breeze passing by them. They had already walked quite a ways away from the guild, and was nearing the edge of the city and into the forest.

"... did you know that this is my fifth time being in the S-Class exams now?" Cana said sadly.

"F-Fifth…?" Lucy repeated incredulously.

"Yeah… last four hasn't been well for me at all…"

"... was that the reason why you wanted to leave?"

"Most of it was… until Yusuke said something that made me think otherwise." Cana responded, looking up at the cloudy sky. "He wouldn't give up on something after failing so many times repeatedly, and said that there's a chance to fail but there's also a chance to succeed. The look he had on him when he said that… even after not winning… and when I look back at myself failing these last few years, maybe I shouldn't either."

"Sounds like he really changed your mind." Lucy commented.

"Think about it Lucy… all three of them chose to stay. They could have left. They're leaving all the other people they know behind, and staying here… it's a rather heavy sacrifice that they won't be seeing them yet. Yusuke especially, he's been here longer."

"... yeah, I was there when they had all that stuff brought to them from their universe. Marissa looked so sad through all of that, even Yusuke and Ann looked troubled. I feel grateful but… at the same time, somewhat sorry for them…"

"And now I want to give them my thanks. I'm always in a slump around this time of the year, but now I'm not. If Yusuke and Ann are working this hard after that loss, how can I not be determined by that?"

"You have a point, after all of that, I'm really feeling it too to help you become S-Class! … I wonder what kind of training they're doing right now."

"I can only imagine it to be really intense. They're that strong already but need more training? It must be serious…"

Lucy and Cana stayed at a relaxed silence as they continued walking through the forest. By now, snow had started to fall from the dark cloudy sky. The ground and trees nearby began being decorated in white, and sounds of small explosions can be heard in the distance by the both of them.

Eventually, after a long walk from the guild, both women arrived at an open field with little snow littering the area. All of a sudden, a large burst of wind could be felt, and the mages saw both Saiyans appear in the middle of the field, snow blowing away from them from the ground and the air with their elbows clashing against one another.

"Again!" Lucy and Cana heard Whis shout out, and they looked to their right to see the Angel observing the Saiyans from afar.

Yusuke and Ann hopped away from each other and closed their eyes in concentration.

A long moment later, they opened their eyes and charged at each other with clenched teeth until-

"Again!" Whis shouted again, and as soon as he did, they both stopped immediately and let out an annoyed sigh as Yusuke and Ann closed their eyes once more.

It was longer this time, that they have to concentrate on where they stood. Long enough that the falling snow was sticking to their hair and clothes. Whis looked to the side and saw Lucy and Cana after sensing them coming. Letting out hum, the attendant looked towards his students once more.

"Alright you two, take a small break! You have visitors." Whis announced.

Wondering what the Angel meant, Yusuke and Ann looked back towards the trees to see Cana and Lucy watching them. With a small smile coming from the Saiyan's they went ahead and walked over to two.

"You two working hard?" Cana asked as Yusuke and Ann arrived.

"Trying our best…" Ann responded with a small sigh.

"What brings you guys here?" Yusuke asked.

"We just wanted to check up on you guys, seeing how your training went so far." The brunette answered.

"... seems like an unusual pairing for the both of you to come."

"I was kind of dragged here…" Lucy said with a chuckle.

"And she's my partner! We gotta stick together right now!" Cana grinned, and brought the blonde closer by wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"Partner?" Ann questioned.

"Yup, S-Class mage promotion exams was just announced, and I got picked to participate. Lucy here is gonna help me get to S-class." The Card mage answered, pointing to the blonde.

"Really? Congrats." The male Saiyan said with a smile, the conversation between him and Cana was brought up to him in his head from the day before. 'Was that why Cana was talking to me about the S-Class stuff…?'

"If you really wanted to, you probably could have asked one of us to help you. Or even Mari." Ann proposed, causing both mages to chuckle slightly.

"Actually…" Lucy started.

Cana and Lucy began explaining the events that happened earlier in the day, to Makarov and the current S-Class mages announcing the promotion exam, and the revelation that the Time Patrollers could not participate in the S-Class exams whatsoever as well after telling them about the rules of choosing partners for the test.

Knowing who all eight participants were and knowing that Marissa was filled in with the information as well, both Saiyan's gave off an exasperated laugh at the restrictions on them.

"Well that's a bummer, we can't be in it at all." Yusuke laughed. However, he blinked and looked to the side briefly, thinking to himself. '... who is this Mest person?'

"Makes sense… we're not mages." Ann responded.

"But thanks for checking up on us, we're… getting by with our training so far." He said, looking back at them

"Is it tough?" Lucy asked.

"With what we're trying to do… yeah, it's gonna take awhile for us to get used to." Ann answered with a sigh, seeing Whis talking to Beerus at the side.

"What exactly are you doing?" Cana asked next.

"Trying to control our power basically… and that's not even the hard part." Yusuke explained.

"Hmm… It sounds simple… but I wouldn't know." She responded, and seeing her own breath as she spoke Cana looked up the still falling snow. "... and you're really going to keep training under this kind of weather."

"We've been in harsher conditions before… some water isn't going to stop us." Ann replied with a grin.

Laughter broke out from the other three, until a moment later when Cana was seen rubbing one her arms, and looked towards the male Saiyan.

"Yusuke… I wanted to say thanks." The brunette suddenly said, confusing him.

"What for?" Yusuke asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The talk we had yesterday… when the promotion exams are really close I've always felt so down, because in the past whenever I was chosen and take the tests, I would always fail. But talking with you, just, seeing everything you've done and the choices you made, it makes me want to do the same. So in this upcoming S-Class trial, I'm going to become an S-Class mage!" Cana announced, hands clenched before she dropped them and looked away all of a sudden with a sad look. "I… I have to…"

"You have to…?" Lucy questioned as she and the Saiyan's looked at the brunette.

"Lucy… who do you think the strongest mage is in our guild is?" Cana asked, looking at her.

"... besides Yusuke, Ann and Marissa since they're not mages, I would think Master was… until, well, Gildarts fought against Yusuke. The magic coming from him felt so powerful, it really surprised me." She answered.

"Yeah… he's pretty amazing, isn't he? I'm almost proud that Gildarts is…" Cana began to say, but stopped herself as she was seen hesitating. But she shook her head, and let out a shaky breath, whether or not it was from the cold or the anxiety within her, she didn't know at that moment before looking back at everyone else. "That… Gildarts is my father…"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"W-Wait, what?!" Lucy screeched in surprise, taking a moment to process what the Card mage had just said.

"Huh… now that you say that… the resemblance is there…" Yusuke muttered off to the side while Ann simply kept quiet.

"Gildarts is… he's your dad?!" The blonde repeated.

"... yeah…" Cana nodded with a sad but small smile. "I first came to the guild at a really young age after my mother died, hoping to find Gildarts… and I did. But, I didn't know what to say at that time when we met. And when I found out that was an S-Class mage, and that he's so powerful I felt… insignificant…"

"Then… he doesn't know that you're his dad?" Lucy asked, and everyone saw Cana shaking her head.

"I would think that maybe if I became S-Class I would I get acknowledged after telling him. But if I did it right now…" Cana trailed off shakily, looking away.

"... that he wouldn't accept you." Ann finished for her, and the Card mage widened her eyes before nodding slowly.

"Cana…" Lucy sadly muttered.

"... just tell him." Yusuke simply said with crossed arms, and received a surprised look from Cana.

"... Easy for you to say! Put yourself in my shoes and you try and tell your father that you're his son!" Cana said angrily, but gasped and caught herself when she remembered the conversation between them and quickly regretted it. "I-I'm sorry, I…"

"It's alright Cana…" Yusuke said with a small sigh. "I can't understand too well of what it feels like but… Gildarts isn't that type of person. Sure if you become S-Class and you tell him after he'll be thrilled, but I'm sure he'd be happy to know you're his daughter still."

"You're… sure?" Cana questioned skeptically with a raised eyebrow.

"He's not a bad guy… I can feel it when I fought against him." He answered defensively.

"... I don't know." She responded unsurely, ruffling her own hair in a bit of frustration. "I'll think about it… but I still want to take the exam and win. Can I ask you guys to keep this to yourselves in the meantime?"

"Of course we will!" Lucy immediately answered.

"Yeah, you don't have to worry about us talking about it." Yusuke replied.

"We're going to be busy training anyway, so there's not much talking for us while we do it." Ann said with some sympathy.

"Thanks you guys… I think we've taken enough of your time already. We'll let you off." Cana said with a smile, and looked back at the male Saiyan. "Thank you again… Yusuke."

"Don't stress about it too much." Was the last thing Yusuke said as he turned around and walked off with a wave of his arm with Ann following near him. Both Saiyan's arrived in the middle of the snowy field again and with Whis coming into view, their training resumed.

"C'mon, we should take this week to prepare too." Lucy said with a smile and a look of determination of her own towards the Card mage. "I'll definitely make you S-Class Cana, we have this in the bag!"

"Right…!" Cana responded with a nod and a determined smile of her own.

Marissa sat on the couch of the apartment the Time Patrollers were in with her legs tucked in. It was already late at night and she was going through the tablet that they received from Amber and the rest. She was a bit annoyed that there was absolutely no internet connection whatsoever in this world, so she simply made do and browsed what music was in it and what other applications were installed.

The apartment door swung open, and Marissa was slightly started as she jumped from the seat of the couch and looked towards the doorway. Two people covered in snow collapsed, groaning on the floor that made the Earthling chuckle.

"You two had it rough." Marissa said.

"I… I don't think I can move anymore…" Yusuke mumbled on the floor.

"... I need a hot shower…" Ann said with a grunt, her arms and legs struggling to get up until she was finally able to stand up, and went over to her bedroom for clothes before heading to the bathroom.

"So how did the first day go?" Marissa asked.

"Not much progress… controlling our energy isn't easy at all…" The male Saiyan replied, managing to pick himself off the floor, closing the door and then flopping onto the sofa, letting out a relaxed sigh from the comfort of the furniture.

"Can you really do it in a week though… it took Goku and Vegeta about a year to do so…"

"We have to try… if not, then we can try continuing when Beerus and Whis goes back-"

All of a sudden, Marissa and Yusuke perked up, narrowing their eyes and looked towards the door.

"Do you feel that?" Marissa hushly said in a serious tone.

"Someone's trying to be sneaky…" Yusuke said back in a hushed tone, and the Earthling ran to the door and opened it. Marissa looked around in both directions, and saw no one. However, the Saiyan felt the sudden shift of the energy from one spot to another in an instant the moment she opened the door.

"No one's-"

"They went outside!" Yusuke barked, and both of them ran out of the apartment and headed up to the roof of the building.

Upon opening the door, they saw no nothing except for snow currently falling.

"They moved again." Marissa said, looking to her right.

"Some kind of teleportation… Instant Transmission to them. I'll catch up in a second." Yusuke instructed.

"Right." The Earthling nodded and placed two fingers on her forehead and locked onto the energy signature that was just near them a moment ago.

When Marissa found the person, she immediately warped on top of them, wrapping an arm around their neck as they both fell on the ground of snow. The captive was a male, and he cried out in a muffled and choked pain as Marissa held them around their neck.

"Gotcha!" Marissa said through her teeth, and felt Yusuke arrive a few moments later.

"So who's the culprit?" Yusuke questioned, landing down next to them.

"This is-!" Marissa gasped as she saw the familiar red coat-like shirt, and saw the earring on the left and the scar over their left eye. "This guy is Mest!"

"One of the guys in the S-Class exam?"

"Yeah… you know him? I haven't been in the guild long enough to recognize him, figured you did." Marissa said, looking back at the Saiyan.

"No… Cana and Lucy came to visit us while we were training. When they mentioned this Mest person, it was the first time I heard his name." Yusuke answered, and Marissa allowed him to pick Mest up and pushed him up against the wall as they looked directly at each other while the Saiyan held him in place by his shirt. "So who are you?"

'I covered a large distance away from them… how were they able to catch up to me so fast...!?' Mest thought in his head, sweat dripping from his brow as he remained composed, and worked his skill. "You guys… you really don't recognize me? It's me, Mest. I've been in the guild for a few years now."

Yusuke and Marissa narrowed their eyes, feeling their mental barrier blocking something out a moment later.

"Nice try… I don't know what you tried doing but it isn't going to work." Yusuke snarled, resulting in a surprised look from Mest.

"Feels like he's trying to do something dirty…" Marissa lowly said, crossing her arms.

'How…' Mest widened his eyes in surprise. 'No… this isn't good… if I'm caught here, then the mission is done for…!'

"Stop it you two."

Yusuke, Marissa, and Mest gasped slightly as they looked to the side to see Makarov walking towards them with a hard look.

"Master…" Marissa muttered.

"What's going on Old Man?" Yusuke asked, tightening his grip on Mest so that he doesn't get away.

"He's one of us Yusuke, let him go." Makarov said, looking directly at the male Saiyan.

"I don't believe that... I know I haven't been in the guild as long as most of the others, but I know suspicion when I see it." Yusuke said, looking back at Mest.

"Ah, I figured you'd say something like that. So let me try and prove it then." Makarov said, and from his Wizard Saint coat, he brought out a folded paper that would look like a fan if one were to spread it apart. He jumped up, and whacked Mest on the head, prompting Yusuke to let him go in surprise as the scarred face man collapsed on the snowy ground.

"W-Wha-" Yusuke began saying.

"Give him a moment."

And they did, as the Time Patrollers observed incredulously, they all saw Mest beginning to groggily stand up while holding his head.

"What…" Mest muttered.

"Are you feeling better, Mest?" Makarov asked, the mentioned mage looking at him.

"No… not entirely Master…" He said, standing up, feeling the pain ringing on his head.

"What's going on…" Yusuke blinked, noticing the shift in demeanor from Mest.

"This is so weird…" Marissa muttered.

"Yusuke, Marissa, meet Mest. He is a member of our guild, however, his magic complicates things as he uses it to infiltrate the Magic Council." Makarov introduced.

"What kind of magic does he use?"

"Memory Control." The Fairy Tail Master answered simply.

"Ohh… so that's what he was trying to do…" Yusuke said.

"... I have to say, you two are something else, catching me all the way out here, almost outside of Magnolia. I can teleport as well, but I didn't expect to get caught right after." Mest said, and bowed his a bit towards the Patrollers. He looked at Makarov questioningly, and the old man gave a nod of approval.

"You can trust them, go ahead and tell them." Makarov answered, causing Yusuke and Marissa to look at him in wonder.

"My real name is Mest Gryder, and I act under the name Doranbolt in the Magic Council. I volunteered myself to get inside them and help Master gain information since last year. I went as far as erasing my own memories so that I can get into the council easier." Mest explained.

"That's dedication…" Yusuke responded, and turned to Makarov. "What kind of information are you trying to get?"

"Hmm…" Makarov crossed his arms and closed his eyes, a contemplating look on his face.

"Master… I'm not too sure if…" Mest gave an unsure look towards the Time Patrollers, knowing the importance of the information between the both of them.

"Bro, if it might jeopardize what they've been working on this entire time, maybe it's best to leave it alone."

"...! ...you're right. I'm just being too nosy, my bad." Yusuke said with an apologetic tone.

"It's fine, we're simply gathering anything about the countries in the west. In case they might try anything on Ishgar. Hopefully, it isn't anything too soon." Makarov answered.

'The west… hm…' Marissa thought, remembering seeing the Atlas in the library Lucy and Levy brought her and Ann to a while back.

"Mest, do what I'm about to tell you next." Makarov suddenly said, catching everyone's attention. "Place the memories of Yusuke, Marissa and their friend Ann into Doranbolt, indicating that they're cleared of any suspicion. I don't want any trouble coming toward them. If the Magic Council actually caught wind of who they actually are, then it can cause problems."

"Who they actually are?" Mest questioned, looking at Makarov.

"It's too long of a story to tell, but I'll be sure to explain later. For now, we'll leave things the way they are. Can you do that, Mest?" Makarov asked, and he saw the mentioned mage ease up.

"Okay, Master." Mest responded with a nod and a smile, and looked towards the Time Patrollers. "Yusuke, Marissa, it was good meeting the both of you. I hope I don't cause you too much trouble from here on out as Doranbolt, but just know it's something I'm willing to do for the guild."

"No problem, and you're fine Mest, but wiping your memories constantly, it must be really dangerous." Yusuke said.

"It is, and I've told him multiple times that he shouldn't. But, I can't exactly stop him from his choice." Makarov said, causing Mest to chuckle in response.

"We'll be heading off then, leave you two at whatever you guys do when you meet up." Marissa said, turning around.

"Yeah… not to mention how tired I am from today's training…" Yusuke muttered to himself as he turned around, but his words still reached the others.

"How is it going for you?" Makarov asked.

"It's hard…" Yusuke replied with narrowed eyes. "The hardest training I've done so far."

"I see, I hope it'll do you good in the long run then. I don't think I have to tell the both of you to keep this to yourself as well, it's important that you do… Run along now and rest up."

The male Saiyan nodded in response, and he and Marissa was seen leaping into the air as they flew back into Magnolia, surprising Mest at the same time from the action.

"No other news… is there…?" Makarov asked, looking back at the young mage.

"No… it's been quiet lately, but I feel like they'll be moving sooner or later." Mest said shaking his head in response and out of the stupor after discovering the Time Patrollers flying.

"I see… be on guard, they're bound to come to Ishgar eventually."

"Yes, Master."

The Time Patroller's apartment door opened up again as Yusuke and Marissa. A relaxed Ann looked from the couch as they both walked in, long finished from her shower.

"Where were you two?" The female Saiyan questioned.

"Following a mole, it's all good now though." Marissa answered, still dusting off a little bit of snow from her hair.

"... alright." She shrugged, leaning into the couch further as she let out a content sigh.

"Hey… you guys want to make some videos together?" Marissa asked all of a sudden, going back to the other sofa she was on earlier and picked up the tablet.

"A video?" Yusuke asked.

"Yeah… for the others to check. When Beerus and Whis goes back, they can take this back with them. Let's use the tablet to let them know that we're fine, so they don't have to worry as much." Marissa said, a forlorn look on her face as she eyed the device in her hands.

"Yeah… that sounds good, let's do it." Ann said, propping herself back up from her seat.

"I agree, they did it for us, let's give them something back." Yusuke said with a small smile.

With a nod from Marissa, she opened up the tablet screen and tapped on the camera application.

A few days had passed that went by very quickly for some people. Magnolia is now covered in a white sheet of snow, and people dressed themselves in their winter clothes, some annoyed by the weather while others enjoyed it otherwise.

The Fairy Tail guild was still busy with jobs as always, but it was missing a few people. Mainly the group that plans on heading to Tenrou Island as they were currently away from the guild with any last minute preparations and training, with only a couple of days left before the S-class exams start.

Nothing unusual went throughout the day, except for the odd action of a certain Angel coming into the guild all by himself. He went straight towards the bar, where a certain barmaid and Earthling were currently at.

"Well hello there." Whis introduced.

"Whis…! Aren't you supposed to be training Yusuke and Ann?" Marissa asked.

"Oh I am. They just… have their hands full currently."

"Where is he?!" Yusuke shouted, his hands shaking from holding the weights in his hands.

"I don't know! He just vanished! Why are we holding these?!" Ann said through gritted teeth, as she was also holding weights in her hands while the both of them floated in the middle of the air, snow falling down on them.

An amused Beerus looked up at them as he was sitting down on a sturdy branch of a tree.

"I have a request if I may ask, Miss Mirajane, was it?" Whis questioned.

"Yes...?" The barmaid responded, looking up from the counter.

"Yusuke and Ann have talked wonders about your cooking and I was wondering if you're able to make some right now?"

"Of course… for all of you I suppose?"

"Yes, if you're able to make multiple meals that can last… perhaps several months?"

"Several months?!" Marissa gawked. "Wait, they're Saiyans. That makes sense…"

"Oh, I was factoring in that they have quite the appetite and metabolism, and if I may ask to make plenty of food for them to last a while." Whis answered, surprising Marissa once more.

"That's an awful lot of food… do you really need it right now?" Mirajane asked.

"As soon as possible is all I can ask, or as much as you can by the end of the day. We only have a couple of days left before Lord Beerus and I return to the Seventh Universe. Until then, Yusuke and Ann's training will be nonstop."

"But… a few months…?" The Earthling asked.

"Don't worry, they'll only be away for a short while. Lord Beerus and I will still be returning to the Seventh Universe before we are unable to."

What Whis answered, still confused Marissa. However, she leaned to the side to grab her backpack. When she reached inside, she pulled out the tablet that was sent from the Time Patrol, and she looked back at the Angel.

"All three of us made responses back to all of them… Could you give this back to the Supreme Kai of Time when you and Lord Beerus go back…? I'd really appreciate it." Marissa asked, handing the device to him.

"Of course… I'm sure they will be happy nonetheless all of you are still healthy and safe." Whis gladly accepted the tablet and took it from her hands. He hovered his staff above it and as the orb glowed, the device vanished from his hand.

"Thanks Whis."

"It's my pleasure." Whis responded, and looked back at the barmaid. "Miss Mirajane, shall I trust you to make the food?"

"Mira, I can help, you know I'm good for it too!" Marissa offered.

"Alright… we'll do our best and meet you there tonight with the food." Mirajane said with a smile and a nod.

"Thank you very much, we shall see you soon." Whis said, and he strolled out of the guild, warping back to the training grounds.

On the same day that Marissa and Mirajane had been asked of the task, it was now night time. Light snow continued falling from the clouds, now less dense than it was earlier in the day.

Within the dark forest neighboring Magnolia, three people strolled within the trees. With no one particularly leading them, Erza, Mirajane and Marissa all held a hand up in front of them, a small orb of Ki from their fingertips to light up the space around them to see. The redhead was lagging just behind the both of them as she was currently lugging a very large cart behind her that was full of freshly made food from the barmaid and Earthling.

"The amount of food the both of you made… it's even more than the luggage I take during missions…" Erza said, glancing back at the food behind her.

"It's what Whis wanted, they must be really hungry or something. Wish I could teleport us, but man all that cooking left me kinda dizzy." Marissa said.

"It's fine, Marissa. Walking like this is a nice change of pace."

"I'm rather glad we're walking as well… I'm not sure if I can last in the air if we flew either..." Mirajane said with a tired chuckle.

They kept their senses on alert and could easily feel where both Saiyan's were at, and it wasn't far now.

One thing that caught them off guard, however, is that they… kept blinking out from what they could feel. Only momentarily though.

Eventually, sounds of explosions can be heard, and it grew louder and louder as the three of them go closer until they finally arrived.

There was no moon, just the darkness and the snow falling from what they could see from the light they produced. Sounds of grunting and shouting as the snow blew away within the area. The strong, cold breeze brushed against the three women, and they shielded their faces with their arms as they yelped.

"Oh? I smell something rather delicious…" Beerus' voice was heard, and the three of them look to their left to see the Deity walking towards the large cart full of food observingly.

"Alright you two! A brief break is in order!" Whis yelled out, loud enough to for both the Saiyan's to hear as he floated towards the newly arrivals.

Yusuke and Ann made sounds of wonder, their adrenaline dying down as they looked towards Whis. Tired smiles formed on their faces as they saw Marissa, Erza, and Mirajane arrive, and they walked over to the rest of them.

Despite being tired herself, Mirajane briskly went to Yusuke and leaped towards him with a hug. Seeing her do so, the male Saiyan readied himself and allowed the barmaid to embrace him, feeling the warmth from her that made him relax, almost now noticing that it was chilly around him while only wearing his Gi.

"... honestly feels good to hug you." Yusuke said into her ear.

"It's nice to hear you say that, especially what Marissa and I made for you two." Mirajane said with a small laugh.

"Made for us?" Yusuke questioned, the both of them separating from each other.

"They made it while I helped deliver it, here." Erza said, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the cart of food.

"Whis asked us to make these earlier today, we worked on it until just recently before coming here." Marissa explained.

"... so that's why he left." Ann said in an annoyed tone, and got a clearer look at the cart behind them. "What did you guys make for us?"

"Food! And lots of it." The Earthling answered.

"You are correct that I left to inform them about making us food. Because we will be gone for awhile." Whis answered, alerting both of the Saiyan's as if their tiredness went away.

"What do you mean 'awhile'?" Yusuke questioned with slightly narrowed eyes.

"We'll explain once we get there. Every second passed here is more time passed there. Whis, it's time to go to that place." Beerus answered, walking up to them.

"Of course, if you'll excuse me…" Whis quickly went over to the large cart of food and hovered his staff over it. As the orb glows dimly, the entire carriage vanished in the same light, and the Angel faced them once more. "Miss Erza, Miss Mirajane, Miss Marissa. If you wish to say any sort of farewell, now is the time. We will be gone for now."

The Angel can see the apprehension on the mages especially, and a little from the Earthling. Whis gave a reassuring look towards them.

"Don't worry, it'll only be a couple of days for you instead of them. Lord Beerus and I will be sure to come back by then in order for us to return to our universe." Whis added in.

"A couple days for them… instead of us…?" Yusuke recited out loud, and he made a small gasp as it clicked to him, and he looked at Ann, a knowing look from her as well.

"Whis, do you have some kind of Room of Spirit and Time you have access to?" Ann asked, her annoyed tone being more prominent while her question made the Earthling gasp in realization.

"Hm, perhaps." Whis answered.

"Why didn't we just go there instead?" Yusuke asked.

"Don't be ridiculous." Beerus spoke up, eyes going towards him. "If we allowed the both of you to go straight in there from the very beginning then your bodies and minds would have broken down."

"At the moment, the both of you are able to control your energy to some degree, however, to speed up the process then Lord Beerus and I have decided for you two to go somewhere else. And we're about to shortly." Whis explained further. "With how the both of you are progressing, you may be able to complete it. But, it does depend on how far you two wish to go."

After the explanations from Beerus and Whis, Yusuke and Ann gave a relented sigh.

"Guess I'll be gone for a bit then…" Yusuke said, facing Erza and Mirajane.

"We'll see you in a couple of days… as for you… just make sure you'll be alright." Mirajane said with a smile.

"By the time we see each other again, we'll be back with a new S-Class mage. We can celebrate then." Erza said, giving a thumbs up while grinning.

"Both of you better come back stronger." Marissa said.

"We will Mari, you can count on that." Ann replied as the Earthling went in for a hug herself, and the female Saiyan happily responded back while hugging back.

"Are you two ready?" Whis asked, looking over the Saiyan's as Beerus stood next to him.

"I am." Yusuke answered with a nod.

"So am I." Ann added in.

"Very well. Let's continue the training then." The Angel said, walking away with Beerus, Yusuke, and Ann following him.

As Erza, Mirajane, and Marissa watched Whis tap his staff on the ground, the sounds of multiple bells chimed and resonated was heard as he did so. A moment later they were enveloped in a rainbow light, and their bodies seemingly began warping into the orb of the staff until they weren't seen anymore with the Angel's accessory disappearing as well.

A bright space with hot winds coursing through the dense air constantly was dead and quiet.

Until all of a sudden, a bright light in the distance was seen throwing out four people from it. Two Saiyan's auras instantly came to life as soon as they entered, and Beerus and Whis casually floated away from them.

"W-Wha-?!" Yusuke stuttered, his body upright as he felt his energy constantly ramping.

"I… I can't move…!" Ann said through her teeth, her body up right as well as she was near the male Saiyan, also feeling her energy rushing around her.

"This space is only for those who have complete control over their Ki. Until that happens for the both of you, we will only be watching." Whis said.

"If Goku and Vegeta were able to do it, then maybe you two can." Beerus said, now laying down again in the middle of the space with his hands behind his head.

Annoyed and irritated by the Deities comments, Yusuke and Ann both closed their eyes, and concentrated. Beerus and Whis let out a grin, and the training continued.

The day of the S-Class promotion exam had arrived, and over at Port Hargeon the participating mages that have been chosen to take the test were currently waiting along with their partners.

Makarov finally came into their views, and with fierce smiles on their faces they saw their Master pump an arm into the air with his hand formed into a fist.

"Are you all ready?!" Makarov shouted with a large grin, and mostly the entire group loudly cheered. "Then get on the ship! We're now headed to Tenrou Island!"

As the Fairy Tail mages began boarding the large ship, with a certain Dragonslayer being very hesitant, on the roof the cabin, Marissa peeked over to see all of them stepping into the boat, and playfully grinned.

"Hehe, this'll be fun..."

A looooot of changes *coughbutterflyeffectscough* from the main series was put in here. Yes, Cana is obviously different if you haven't noticed. Mest. Got. Caught. But that was resolved pretty quickly. Those are the big things.

And Yusuke and Ann's training got even more intense. In the next few chapters they'll be out of the loop and it'll allow me to focus more on the Fairy Tail members themselves, with a side of the Earthling to go along with as well.

I didn't go over Carla's premonition, and I didn't miss it either. I'll be doing that next chapter, don't worry.

Things WILL be happening throughout the Tenrou Arc, I have several things planned so don't worry about that either.

Next chapter will probably be around the same time apart, maybe a little over a couple weeks if I'm not too busy with homework and projects. So a 2 week to a month time frame is what I'm aiming for the next chapter.

Also have a small cold at the moment and it sucks. Coughing with runny noses really, really suck. If I could, I'd make it so that none of could over get sick from any diseases. No more cancer, am I right? Man, that'd be great. Not that i'm saying that I have it, no haha.

Until then!
