I'm back! A little days late from the 1 month mark and would have had it done and updated yesterday, but it was my birthday so I finished it up and decided to proofread today. Hope you're all doing well though. Onto reviews!

.

SuperSaiyaFever: Hmm, as far as Elfman and Evergreen vs Mirajane goes, uhh... I promise Mirajane will get her shine later on. Don't worry.

SaiyanV500: Towa and Mira? Oohh, read on! But as far as another character will be coming in to join the good side, I do plans for that sort of thing but it's not going to happen until after the 7 year time skip. I've said in the past that I have big plans for the GMG, so hopefully ya'll still stick around when I go that far.

Warmachine375: My bad for not getting back to your PM a while back, been busy and just getting on now. You definitely have some interesting concepts, if I ever decide go in that particular direction I'll be sure to let you know!

Guest: As far as when Yusuke and Ann will come back in, well we can't spoil that just yet now can we?

Thank you for those that wished me to be well from my sickness, I'm practically 99% full health now. Just a little cough here and there, but it's getting closer to the wintertime so it's to be expected.

.

Roughly a month later I'll have the next update, and that's my plan. It's been consistent the last few months and definitely gives me good breathing room here and then between this, work and college. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy!

Onward!

Glass shatters and pipes disconnected from the large tube, as green glowing liquid began spilling out of the container. More of the glass broke apart, as a figure stepped out of the chamber, and his feet planted firmly on the tile floor under them.

He breath was heavy, and as his brown-orange eyes looked ahead in complete darkness, he stretched as his power exploded, destroying any machinery around him. Liquid dripped from his white hair, and as he stood upright, he began marching forward with one thought in mind.

Kill the Future Warrior.

Humidity and heat was felt from everyone within the ship that had set sailed from Port Hargeon to Tenrou Island. All the participants, their partners, Makarov and an Earthling stowaway, who was still hiding, were all drenched in their own sweat. Some had even resorted to stripping their clothes to let their bodies cool off from the small winds.

The eight groups still mingled amongst each other through the duration of the trip. Lucy laid on a wooden-woven chair in her bikini while Happy laid next to her on a nearby table. Cana, Levy, and Wendy, who is currently Mest's partner, who is standing nearby with crossed arms near the edge, sat at a nearby table fanning themselves off. Gajeel, who forced himself to be Levy's partner, sat alone on the other side of them, looking bored out of his mind as he watched the ocean pass by. Freed and Bickslow stayed in the back, simply talking to each other while Elfman and Evergreen were nearby, trying to cool themselves off with fans as well.

At the front of the deck, Natsu was unwell as being in any sort of transportation. The Fire Dragonslayer's upper body was currently over the edge, hurling any sort of food he had earlier in the day into the ocean. Loke was sitting near Gray… who was also sitting down but, naked… while most looked away from him, Juvia continued ogling the Ice-make mage with hearts in her eyes while her partner, Lisanna, sweat dropped literally and figuratively at her antics.

Marissa let out an annoyed, low growl as she had moved up to the main mast where there was a spot to sit in a while ago, still unnoticed from everyone else.

'I almost regret coming here… damn it, this is so disgusting…!' The Earthling thought irely, wiping the sweat from her forehead with her arms as it dripped down her limb after doing so. She looked ahead and blinked once, and almost gasped out loud, seeing an island in the distance with a very large, strange shaped tree right in the middle of it. 'Whoa…! That almost looks like a mushroom…! That must be the island they're going to. I can sense Gildarts, Erza and Mira over there already.'

Looking down below, she saw all of the mages group up as Makarov began talking to them about Tenrou Island, and afterwards, the rules and details of the promotion exam. As he talked, the Earthling saw Freed sneak away from everyone else as he began writing in the air at the edge of the ship. It only took a minute for him to do so before he and Bickslow gave a nod at each other.

'What are they doing…?' Marissa thought, her eyes blinking in wonder, then all of a sudden, she heard Makarov shout.

"Now begin! The examination has started!" Makarov yelled.

Marissa continued watching below, and she almost burst out laughing as she saw Natsu and Happy flying into a wall in the middle of the air, and noticed Freed, using his wings made from his runes, and Bickslow, using his dolls, flying away from the ship to head to the island first. She saw confusion from some of the mages, but also noticed Levy and Evergreen writing on the runes before they, along with Gajeel and Elfman, respectively, jumped out of the ship and swam towards the island.

"Oh man… now this is getting interesting…!" Marissa hushly said in excitement. She hummed in wonder, and reached to the air above her only to touch the wall of runes as well, finding herself trapped. "Me too huh… no problem."

The Earthling placed two fingers on her forehead, sensing the mages that had already left the ship almost reaching the island.

'Hmm… I wouldn't want any of them to know I'm here just yet… maybe…' Marissa opened her eyes, and in an instant, the environment around her changed from the bright scene to a dark cave, but with a light in the middle of the room she was in.

There was a sudden coolness from the dark cave where it's damp within it. She let out a relaxed sigh and took off her backpack full of supplies, fanning herself with her shirt to cool herself off while her sweat was still on her.

"Hahaha… you're not supposed to be here."

The laugh didn't surprise the Earthling as she turned to see the Crash Mage walk from the shadows of the cave towards her with his usual grin on his face.

"I got too curious, how could I not stay still? Things already looked good when I was at the ship just now." Marissa responded, putting her backpack back on.

"I guess I can pretend I didn't see anything… well, just make sure you're not doing anything to distract everyone. This exam means a lot to them." GIldarts said.

"Don't worry, I won't. I think for now I'll just explore this island. It looks really cool."

"It is, isn't it? Did you know this is our First Master's resting place?"

"Our First Master…?" Marissa questioned.

"Yeah. Mavis Vermillion." Gildarts answered with a nod. "And it's said that this island used to have a living fairy residing here. Almost sounds like our First Master was the fairy herself living here a long time ago."

"Really? It sounds… poetic almost…" Marissa replied, looking up at the light shining down into the cave. "This island does have a serene feeling to it."

"So you feel it too, huh? Yeah, it's really peaceful here. Well, not when the others get here." Gildarts said with a laugh.

"I'll get going then… you're gonna wait for one of the groups to come here, right?"

"Yeah, they'll be giving their all while I do the same. They can't get to S-Class if they don't get past me obviously."

"Haha… good luck to them then. I'll see ya later Gildarts!" Marissa said, and began flying up towards the hole in the cave ceiling until the mage stopped her.

"Hold on there Kid." Gildarts quickly said, prompting the Earthling to stop in midair and look down at him.

"What is it?"

"Yusuke and Ann… how are they so far?" Gildarts asked with a straight and somewhat of a serious expression.

"They're hanging in there, hopefully when they come back they'll be stronger than ever. They have to…"

"I see…" The Crash Mage smirked, and faced the tunnel of the cave where he would expect someone to come through. "I'll let you off then. Don't cause too much trouble."

"I won't." She said with a laugh, and flew outside of the cave.

Flying and seeing the island from the inside for the first time, she marveled at the different kinds of environment she saw around her. The different kinds of plants and botany that decorated the ground and tree trunks, both big and small. She even spotted various animals roaming around in the distance that she hadn't ever seen before either. Then she looked up, and the giant tree that she saw from afar when she was back on the boat. It amazed her that the mushroom-like top of the tree covered a good portion of the island, and she was tempted to fly straight up to see what it was like.

However, her head turned back towards the sea, and she floated to a nearby tree to hide, seeing some of the participants arrive on shore. The first group she saw was Natsu and Happy, and they stopped briefly to scan the different type of tunnels before going to his left. Next was Juvia and Lisanna, both also stopping briefly before deciding which cave to go into.

'By the direction they're going… Natsu's going to Gildarts while Juvia… is going to run into Erza… looks like they're not passing… maybe.' Marissa looked to her left, sensing the she-demon over there, her energy rising just a little bit. 'It looks like Mira is gonna fight her brother… oh boy.'

Looking ahead, the Earthling saw Gray and Loke arrive just in time, and they quickly went into the second to last tunnel before about a minute later, Cana and Lucy finally arrived. They caught their breaths for a moment after swimming so much from the ship, and after doing so they began walking to the last tunnel available for them.

'With how much some of the guys talked about Cana's attitude changing… I wanna go see how she's gonna do.' With a grin, she placed two fingers on her forehead and locked onto the pair's energy signature.

Her scenery changed once more in an instant as she teleported behind them. She widened her eyes in slight shock and covered her mouth with both of her hands, and without any noise made she quickly hid behind a rocky pillar combined against the tunnel wall before she heard them their walking stop.

"Did you feel something?" Lucy asked.

"I thought I did… might just be the wind. We're inside a tunnel after all…" Cana replied.

"... I guess you're right… come on. Let's also hope we got lucky without having to battle someone."

"Yeah… it'd make this a bit more easier."

Marissa peeked to the side to see Lucy and Cana continuing walking ahead. The Earthling crouched, and with her grin coming back, she began sneaking her way forward.

'This is totally like playing those role-playing video games… except in real life!' Marissa excitedly thought, her hands against the damp walls of the tunnel as she slowly followed behind both of them.

Eventually, light was seen at the end of the tunnel, and as Cana and Lucy fully went through, Marissa stayed in the shadows with a conveniently placed, small stone wall just high enough for the Earthling to peek over. When she did she saw both women confront Freed and Bickslow, and both teams readied themselves to battle against each other.

'Let's see how they do...' Marissa said in her head, waiting in anticipation for someone to make the first move.

She saw Freed look away from Cana and Lucy, and a moment later the brunette took the first move as she expertly threw multiple cards at the opposing side. From the cards, came out beautiful, busty women that completely surrounded Freed, and all of a sudden he became flustered as he shouted in surprise, his face now red as he was being caressed all over his body.

'That works…' Marissa thought with a sweatdrop.

"Get a hold of yourself, Freed!" Bickslow shouted towards him, before facing towards both women again. "Fine then…!"

The dolls around Bickslow danced around him before they hastily made their way towards Lucy and Cana.

Acting quickly, Lucy reached towards her keys, and brought out one of them in front of her.

OPEN THE GATE OF THE GOLDEN BULL: TAURUS!

In a bright light in front of the blonde, the celestial spirit Taurus appeared as he moo'd, and swung his large axe sideways, back and forth, whacking the dolls away from them.

"Moo! Lucy, you're looking spectacular in that bikini!" Taurus complimented as he turned around to look at the blonde and brunette.

"Not now! Focus on the enemy!" Lucy bickered, pointing at Freed and Bickslow.

As the spirit turned around, his eyes became full of hearts as he looked towards the women that surrounded the Rune mage, and he dropped his arms to the side as he panted.

"Moo! You summoned me at a great time!" Taurus exclaimed.

"Uhh…" Lucy began sweating.

BARYON FORMATION!

From Bickslow's dolls, a beam of magic shot towards the bull, and Taurus was knocked down on his back as a result.

"Okay… " Lucy sighed in defeat, and she sent Taurus back as he proved to be less useful after seeing the group of women around Freed.

"Hah!" Cana threw five cards towards Bickslow's dolls, only for them to dodge the cards and continued flying around in the air. "Damn it…"

Reaching into her bag and pulling out more cards, from her peripherals she saw one of the dolls coming at her, and she dodged forward, rolling on the ground as she avoided the attack. Cana looked to the side to see Lucy doing her best avoiding the dolls as well as she leaped around.

The brunette looked down at one of the cards she pulled out to see a picture of a fountain, and as she saw a couple more dolls aimed and shooting towards her. Cana clenched her teeth and narrowed her eyes.

"Now or never…!" Cana raised the card in the air briefly before slamming it down on the ground, shining as it touched the floor.

FOUNTAIN OF THE PRAYING CHILD!

The card shot out beams of water in several directions, including in the direction where Bickslow's dolls was travelling towards her. The dolls quickly went in another direction to avoid being hit by the water, and seeing them doing so caused Cana to click her tongue in annoyance.

"They're still dodging…!" The Card mage muttered.

"Let me try something!" Lucy yelled, diving towards near her and brought out one of her keys as she began crawling near the large force of water.

"Wha-?! Lucy, this is for attacking!"

"...trust me!" The blonde replied with a grin, and her key touched the water.

OPEN THE GATE OF THE WATER BEARER: AQUARIUS!

Another golden light appeared for everyone to see. Within the blast of water this time, and as a moment passed by, the liquid was blown away and the light dimmed to reveal the blue-haired spirit Aquarius as she appeared with her urn, an annoyed look on her face.

"... uh oh." Bickslow took a step back.

"A-Another lady in a bikini…!" Freed trembled.

"Gahh…! Take this!" An irritated Aquarius brought her urn over head before, while still holding it in her hands, threw her arms forward as a very powerful and large torrents of water began filling the entire cave from her pot.

"Cana, hang onto something quickly!" Lucy said, quickly holding onto a nearby stalagmite.

"Oh crap…!" Hastily following the blonde's direction, Cana reached towards a nearby rocky spike herself, wrapping her arms around it as she braced herself.

"A-Ahh!" Freed yelled out, being washed away from the water.

"Gah!" Bickslow as well, spinning around inside the torrents of the water

"Oh no…!" Lucy yelped, filling her grip slip away a moment later.

"Ah!" Cana included, her hold around the rock slipped as her and Lucy began travelling around inside the strong water.

"Woah…!" Not wanting to get wet and seeing the water quickly filling up the room and travelling towards the tunnel, Marissa hopped up to the ceiling, and latched onto the gaps of any space she could feel from the rocky tunnel. Her vision was now upside down, and she felt her ponytail drop down, silently sighing in relief as the water didn't make its way up to the top.

Eventually, the water receded and died down. Aquarius was seen huffing, and moved her hair behind her with her hand, seeing the dizzy looks from Lucy and Cana before grinning.

"Called me at a bad time Lucy… and what's with that bikini? You won't find a boyfriend looking like that." Aquarius said with a laugh.

"Hey! What's the big idea?! Can't tell who the enemies are and those on the same side?!" Cana shouted, annoyed at the celestial spirit.

"Hmph, what an ugly attitude, no charm at all as a women." The spirit responded with a snicker.

"Hoh? You think you're better just because you have a boyfriend?" The brunette bit back, and annoyed tick on her forehead.

"A-Alright… Aquarius, you can go back…" Lucy said with a nervous chuckle, and brought out her key.

"Hold on." The spirit stopped her, and she looked directly at Lucy.

"Huh?"

"... you told me to leave abruptly back then, what exactly happened?" Aquarius questioned, remembering the God of Destruction as she tried attacking him, but to no avail.

"Oh… it's nothing to fret over now, since we're still here. But, if something did happen to us, I wouldn't want you to get caught up in it…" Lucy said with a small smile, remembering force closing Aquarius as soon as Beerus took his attention away from them.

"..." Aquarius looked away, feeling a slight tug on her chest before fully turning around. "Whatever… don't call me again anytime soon. I'm spending time with Scorpio."

Before either Cana or Lucy responded, Aquarius disappeared in a golden light, going back to the celestial world on her own.

"Lucy, your spirits are rude…" Cana said with slight annoyance.

"They're not all bad one you get to know them, hehe…" Lucy responded with a sweatdrop, and began looking around. "... where's Freed and Bickslow?"

"Look…!" Cana pointed to the mentioned men, and as Lucy's sight followed to where her finger pointed, they saw both mages lying on the ground, knocked out.

"Did… did we…?"

"And the path!" The brunette exclaimed when she turned around, and she saw the tunnel on the other side not being blocked anymore.

"We did it Cana!" Lucy cheered, raising a hand up towards her with a large grin.

"Yeah! Haha!" Cana high-fived her partner, laughing in celebration with a grin of her own as well. "Preliminaries, passed! Let's go Lucy!"

"Right!"

In excitement, Cana and Lucy walked out of the cave with some skip in their step, and from the other side of the tunnel, Marissa dropped down onto the ground, and wiped her hands on her shorts from the wet ceiling.

"Haha… that was cool. Lucy's spirits are something else." Marissa said with a small chuckle, and she made a sound of wonder when she suddenly saw Bickslow sit up from the ground, and the Earthling instinctively hid behind a wall again so that she wasn't seen.

"Are you really alright with this, Freed?" Bickslow asked.

"Yeah…" The Rune mage got up as well, and looked towards the other end of the tunnel where Cana and Lucy ran to. "If it were anyone else… I would have gone all out. But those two… we owe them for what we did back then."

"... kinda overdid it acting like you were really weak against women, wasn't it?" Bickslow asked with a laugh.

"Maybe… but it was convincing."

"But with all that talk about you surpassing Laxus back at the guild, you really are letting this go, huh?"

"He'll return to the guild someday, I know it. In the meantime, it's more important to stay being a member in the guild. When he does return, perhaps then, I'll make it to S-Class myself."

"Still… to think it'd be Cana and Lucy to run into us… they got pretty lucky if I do say so myself."

"Come… let's head towards the rest camp. We can take a brief break there before going back."

With a nod from Bickslow, both of them stood up and began walking towards the direction they entered from, and Marissa panicked a bit as she saw them coming towards her.

'Crap, crap, think fast, think fast, who do I want to go to next?!' The Earthling closed her eyes, and quickly feeling two, calm energy signatures, she felt herself being brought closer towards them as well as feeling the air being cooler than the previous cave.

When Marissa opened her eyes, she saw two people with short blue hair and long black hair in front of her. Her eyes widened, and conveniently, she quickly went to a nearby boulder so that she wasn't seen. As soon as the Earthling did, she heard one of them stop walking, which prompted the other person to do so as well.

"...huh?" Marissa heard them say, and her eyes narrowed a bit while she tilted her head in confusion when she heard them sniffing.

"Gajeel? Is something wrong?" Levy's voice was heard by the Earthling, and she stayed still.

"Just now… did you see someone else?" Gajeel asked.

"No…? At least, I don't think so…"

"..." Sniffing was heard again, but it wasn't any closer from what Marissa thought.

"H-Hey! Why are you sniffing me…?" Levy asked insecurely.

"It's not you… I smell someone else here. But I can't entirely make out who…" Marissa heard Gajeel say, and she sensed him coming closer.

'Damn it…!' The Earthling closed her eyes as she put her fingers on her forehead again, and feeling an energy signature shooting up, she immediately moved from her spot towards them.

When Marissa opened her eyes, she saw herself in a stone pathway, and looking around she heard yelping and grunting. When she looked to her left, she already saw a broken, large stone hiding her. The Earthling peeked out, and with enough sense to not gasp, she widened her eyes in amazement what who she saw.

In front of Marissa stood Erza, tall and ready in front of Juvia and Lisanna as she was donned in a green armor that consisted of gauntlets, her breastplate, and greaves. Her shoulders and around her face seemed to be equipped with a sort of webbing, finned light teal armor while in her right hand she wielded a double-bladed sword that seemed to be made out of crystals.

"I had thought you'd be much more promising, Juvia! You won't make it to S-Class at this point." Erza shouted.

'She looks so cool…! Oh my god her armors are so awesome!' Marissa thought in marvel, and peeked out more to get a clearer view until she felt her foot hit the stone she hid behind, causing some stone rubble on top to roll and fall over.

"Hm?" Erza whipped around with her sword ready in front of her, and she blinked as she saw no one. Her senses however, made her thought otherwise. 'This energy…'

WATER SLICER!

Juvia had fired off thin arcs of water with her magic towards a distracted Erza. The redhead, however, easily turned around and swung her sword to the side, letting out some of her Ki to blow the water away from her. After doing so, she let out a grin.

'She's not supposed to be here... oh well, as long as she isn't sabotaging the exams I suppose it's fine.' Erza thought with her grin intact, and began walking towards Juvia and Lisanna.

Outside of the tunnels, Marissa was back feeling some of the humid air of the island as she casually floated around aimlessly.

"That was close… I wonder what I should do now…" Marissa said out loud to no one in particular. She lazily turned on her back, while still in the air as she looked at the many branches of the large tree in the middle of the island. She saw small rays of sunlight shining through the leaves and the branches, and for a moment Marissa she could have sworn… that she something move on its own.

The Earthling tiredly blinked and yawned, her eyes watered a bit as she did so before she rubbed them with her arm to wipe them dry. She let out a sigh after doing so and when Marissa looked up again, she saw something moving again high up at the tree.

"Huh?" Marissa said out loud, and position herself upright to continue observing up at the tree. When she carefully looked, she saw a person jumping from branch to branch under the large tree. "What the… someone is up there?"

Curiosity washing over, Marissa flew up in the air towards the crown of the tree to get a closer look. She continued seeing the person on the branches, and as she got closer and closer, she could see that the person is a small, blonde girl just casually sitting on the branch, looking down below while her legs and shoeless feet dangled in the air. The Earthling could hear her humming, and as Marissa flew up closer, the girl turned her head to look at her.

"Hello!" The girl introduced enthusiastically towards Marissa.

"... hi?" Marissa replied with confusion. Observing the little girl closely, she had very long blonde, wavy hair while she wore a cute pink, frilly dress with the midsection of her clothes decorated in blue and dark pink diamond patterns going up to her neck. She… seemed normal so far until the Earthling looked at her pupiless emerald colored eyes, as well as another factor of the small girl. '... how come I can't sense her at all?'

"Ooh! You're flying! That's so neat! It's amazing how someone so young can do this kind of magic!" The young girl excitedly said, and she looked at Marissa's right forearm to see the red Fairy Tail symbol stamped onto her. "And you're apart of Fairy Tail…!"

"Yeah, I am." Marissa answered with a small smile, bringing up her right forearm to look at the insignia. "But… I don't use magic. That isn't something I have."

"You don't have magic?" The girl asked curiously with interest.

"Nope." The Earthling shook her head, and began flying around the small girl while flying over the branch she sat on. "It's just using my energy to move around, that's all."

"Your energy?!" The girl asked with stars in her eyes, the wing-like accessories around her face springing up and down while she followed Marissa with her eyes.

"Yep." Marissa stopped in the air in front of her, and flicked a wrist towards her as a small orb of golden Ki appeared in front of her palm.

"Ooh…!"

"Pretty neat, huh?"

"It is!" The girl replied, and she slowly began reaching towards the small orb before Marissa closed her hand as the ball of ki flicked away.

"Sorry… it's not really safe to touch it directly." The Earthling said with a small laugh.

"Oh… that's fine!" The girl, looking sad for a small moment before quickly cheering up with a smile.

"So, what's a kid like you doing… here?" Marissa asked, still taking in the fact that they were so high up.

"I'm not a kid!" The girl said with some irritation, as she was visibly seen pouting.

"My bad…" The Earthling laughed, and leaned down towards her. "What's a young lady like you doing here?"

"I like it here, it's peaceful… and relaxing." The girl responded with a giggle, her legs swinging back and forth in the air before deeply inhaling with her nose, her eyes closed as she leaned upright where she sat. "And… it's very nostalgic here… a place where I can call home."

"So, you live here?"

"Hmm… mhm!" The girl gave a thoughtful look with her finger on her chin, before nodding eagerly with a smile.

'She's so strange…' Marissa chuckled lightly. Seeing a small child, albeit weird that she's somehow high up here, the Earthling felt a warm sensation in her as she talked to her. She reached out with an arm towards the girl's head, wanting to ruffle her hair a bit…

… until she saw her hand pass through blonde child.

"H-Huh…?" Marissa stuttered in surprise, and went to try and pat the child's head again. Only for her hand pass through her again. "Wha-What's going on…?"

The little girl responded with a sad laugh, and looked towards Marissa with a small smile. "I'm… not really here at the moment, but, that much was obvious just now."

"So… you're a ghost…?" The Earthling asked. 'No wonder I can't sense her…'

"Hmm… I prefer the term… spirit!" She responded back with a cheerful tone.

'She sounds so carefree… has she been like this for a long time now…?' Marissa sadly thought, feeling sorry for the small girl as she let out a sigh. "I wish I could hug you…"

A surprised look came from the girl before she let out a reassuring smile towards the Earthling.

"I appreciate it, I really do… but it's okay. My time will come soon." The girl said.

"Do you have some sort of unfinished business here?" Marissa asked, getting a confused look from her.

"What do you mean?"

"From what I read, when ghosts usually linger around they need to take care of something before they pass on. Maybe you do too?"

"Something I need to take care of…" Marissa could see the girl's smile slowly fade away while she stared ahead blankly, her face almost seemed blank as well but could see a thoughtful frown on her.

"Maybe I can help." The Earthling said after some time of silence, catching the small girl's attention.

"I appreciate the thought… uh… I'm sorry, I never did catch your name did I?" The girl said with an embarrassed laugh.

"Marissa." She replied with a smile. "Marissa's my name."

"What a pretty name! ... I really appreciate the thought Marissa, but it's something I think I should try and handle myself."

"If that's your choice… I suppose…"

There was a sudden tremor that was felt, and both of them looked down towards the tunnels. The Earthling felt Gildarts' power rise against Natsu.

"Now that's just over doing it Gildarts…" Marissa said with a small chuckle. "I never did get your name, what's yours-"

As Marissa looked towards the girl again, she was gone.

"What…?" The Earthling looked around her, and even took the time to circle around under the crown of the tree to search for the small girl. But no luck. "... Was I really talking to someone just now?"

Feeling defeated, deflated and a bit creeped out, Marissa sighed as she descended back down to the base of the island, sensing that just about every match has ended and decided to physically see who was going to make it next.

Just off the island, two Exceeds could see Tenrou Island just a ways away from where they were at in the air. Carla's, who was holding map in her hands, and Pantherlily's wings flapped as they moved faster towards it.

"That should be it… Tenrou Island…" Carla said.

"Was it really a good idea to follow them?" Lily asked.

"We'll only be watching, it should be fine."

"Watching Wendy, you mean?"

"Yes!" Carla suddenly said, but quickly recomposed herself as she looked ahead at the island again. "... I'm just worried about her. Especially since that Mest person approached her about wanting her to be his partner. He gives off an odd feeling, claiming he was Mystogan's student. That certainly caught Wendy's attention…in fact, this whole exam… I just have a bad feeling about it."

"Is this from your premonition abilities?" The black Exceed asked.

"... maybe, but it's too out of place for me to be sure." Carla said, thinking back to the flashes she had in her head as soon as the announcements of the S-Class participants ended.

The ground cracked, as an angered Mirajane, in her Satan Soul form, glared ahead.

Light glowed around Cana as her hair floated above her from the powerful winds.

A green arm reached towards Natsu, gripping against his neck as he was slammed against a rock.

A man in dark blue armor who's face wasn't seen, gripped against a red fruit, before it forcefully broke apart in his hand.

A black miasma surrounded a man with black hair in black robes, looked ahead of him with narrowed eyes.

Erza, was seen screaming in pain as she wrapped her arms around her body.

an arm, laid limp by their side.

The sky cracked darkly.

'... should I have told Marissa, or Yusuke and Ann about what I saw? Maybe I can tell Marissa when I see her again. I feel stupid not doing so earlier… sometimes these are wrong but with the one's regarding Yusuke in the past, perhaps it isn't so.' Carla thought with fright until Pantherlily caught her attention again.

"Regardless, I'm concerned about this Mest person as well. A student of Mystogan… something doesn't add up." Lily said, both of them now fully arriving upon Tenrou Island as their Aera disappeared, and they began walking on the ground.

"What makes you think that?" Carla asked.

"I've heard from Erza that Mystogan tried to keep to himself. Whenever he would come to the guild, he would put everyone to sleep so that no one can actually see him. So hearing that he would take a disciple under him doesn't add up… This Mest person…" Lily looked at Carla with a narrowed, but slightly nervous look. "... is he really part of the guild?"

"... We need to find Wendy, and quickly!" Carla hastily said, and both of them ran into the island forest.

Crawling on the grass and dirt, Marissa peeked her head though some bushes and saw all of the S-Class participants gathering around. Just to her left the Earthling saw a battered Elfman and Evergreen wearily arrive with everyone else.

'Wait a minute… they got past Mirajane?' Marissa thought and blinked in surprise.

There was surprise from everyone else present as well seeing the pair walking up to them. Some had questioned at how they got past the oldest Strauss sibling, but Elfman, with his face red, said that it wasn't manly to talk about as he looked away. But a simple reply from Evergreen saying that they caught her off-guard sufficed.

All of a sudden, Natsu stood up from the rock he was sitting on.

"Cana, Gray, Elfman, Levy!" Natsu began declaring, and punched a fist into his hand. "We're all fighting to become S-Class, but in the end, I'm the one who's going to win!"

"Bring it on, I would never lose to you." Gray declared.

"... I won't lose!" Levy said.

"As a man, I'll take you on Natsu!" Elfman shouted.

"You might as well give up now because I'll be the one to be S-Class." Cana grinned.

'Oh, Natsu's here… wait, he got past Gildarts?!' Marissa thought, blinking in slight confusion.

"Alright!" I'm going to announce the second round of the S-Class exams!" Makarov shouted, gaining undivided attention as the mages and the hiding Earthling paid attention to him. "As you all know, Tenrou Island is the site where Fairy Tail's first Master is resting. And so, for the next part of the exam all you kids have to do… is to find her grave site."

There was some confusion among the participants as they briefly eyed each other.

"You all have six hours. Good luck!" Makarov said, and blinked a couple of times as he saw no one moving. "Now! The six hours begins now!"

And all of a sudden, the five groups all separated from each other in different directions, shouting at each other to hurry up as they all began their search.

'Well there they go… I wonder who I should follow first… hm?' Marissa didn't move, but eyed to the side as she felt someone creeping up behind her.

With a grin, she discreetly placed two fingers on her forehead before quickly flickering away from the spot she laid. Marissa, now standing up, tapped on a surprised Erza, who was currently in a black bikini top and black short shorts, on her shoulder and the redhead turned around, slightly surprised.

"Hey Erza." Marissa casually greeted.

"Marissa… you know you're not supposed to be here…" Erza said with a small smile.

"Yeah… but, it'd be so boring back at Magnolia. Seeing everyone else here do this is more exciting." Marissa said with a bounce in her step.

"It's fine Erza, as long as she minds her own business she can linger around." Makarov's voice was heard as he was seen climbing up to the small cliff both of them were on.

"Master." Erza greeted.

"Hey Master. Don't worry… I was just watching some of them fight. Was almost caught by Levy though…" The Earthling said with a small chuckle.

"Just as long as it doesn't distract them, it's alright." Makarov said, and turned around as he started walking away. "I'm going to the First Master's grave site. Erza, why don't you bring Marissa to the camp area. I'm sure Mira is cooking something up right now."

"Are you hungry?" Erza asked the Earthling a moment later after she watched Makarov walk away.

"You know… I am. Especially with all the running around I did." Marissa said, and she began following Erza back to the campsite.

"Who did you observe?"

"Lucy and Cana mostly, they work well together."

"Do they now? It's not often they interact with each other, and Cana seems more enthusiastic for the exam this time around."

"I've heard she usually isn't before. Is that true?"

"... yeah." Erza nodded solemnly. "Part of the fault may be mine and Mira's. We became S-Class in the previous years, along with Mystogan and Laxus. Cana took part in all four of those exams, but couldn't make it in them."

"I've heard of Mystogan… but what about this Laxus person? I don't think I've seen him in the guild." Marissa asked.

"Ah… he was recently exiled from the guild. You might have heard it from Yusuke, but just a couple months ago Laxus tried to overthrow Master by forcefully having the guild members fight against each other. It almost worked… if it wasn't for Natsu, Gajeel, Levy and Yusuke then he might have succeeded. Mirajane and Lucy as well, they were able to take down Freed and Bickslow." Erza explained.

"I did hear about it… didn't… didn't Towa have to do something with that?"

"Not directly from what Yusuke said, but yes… she did. After Natsu and Gajeel took down Laxus, he suddenly got back up. I suppose that's when Towa got involved, and Yusuke fought him by himself, and won." Erza said, and chuckled which confused the Earthling for a moment. "We just got back from… somewhat of a small vacation before that happened as well, and Yusuke was still willing to fight despite all that happened to him."

Marissa was familiar of the vacation Erza was talking about. Her surrogate brother had told her some of the events that happened to him, one being how they were staying at a resort for about a week while he had fought someone during that time that the Time Breakers were apart of as well.

"... it's still surreal to believe he had been doing so much here on Earthland. It's good though, he's helping keeping the Time Breakers at bay."

"He has done so much for us, I'm not sure if we can ever thank him enough. To the three of you in fact." Erza said, smiling at the Earthling.

"Heh… it's what we do Erza. We're more than happy to help."

"... Thank you Marissa, for staying here with us. For now, until you end up going back, Fairy Tail will be your home." Erza sincerely said, causing Marissa to look at her in slight surprise.

"Thank you Erza… really." A genuine smile spread across the Earthlings face before she gave off a large grin.

Eventually, the camp came into their view as both Erza and Marissa could see Mirajane, Lisanna, and Juvia with the older Strauss sibling currently standing over a pot, stirring it. The other two simply sat at a nearby table, empty bowls in front of them.

"Where are Gildarts, Freed, and Bickslow?" Erza asked, her and the Earthling walking under the canopy that was set up.

"They went on ahead back to the guild. I guess they didn't feel like waiting around." Lisanna answered.

"They're rather impatient… they should really see this to the end." Erza said with a slight shake of her head as she went to sit down at the table.

"Marissa! You really are here!" Mirajane said in surprise, turning around to greet the Time Patroller as she was seen with a bandage on her left cheek.

"Hey Mira… what happened to you?" Marissa asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Hehe… let's just say Elfman and Evergreen really caught me off-guard…" The barmaid said with a chuckle.

"Erza's back now… so, what happened Big Sis?" Lisanna questioned with anticipation.

"Well… " Mirajane started to say, turning around to keep stirring the soup in the pot. "...Apparently, Elfman and Evergreen are getting married."

"M-Married?!" Erza stuttered in surprise, jumping from her seat to look at her surprisingly.

"I don't think they really meant it, it just really surprised me and they happened to take advantage of that to take me down." Mirajane said with a giggle.

"If it works… it works I guess. Still, I didn't think you'd lose like that Mira…" Marissa said with a small sigh, knowing that she's been training her as of late.

"When it comes to Lisanna or Elfman, I can't help but dote on them." The She-Demon said with a laugh.

"Elfman and Evergreen… I could see it happening though." Lisanna said to the side, and as she looked at Erza and her older sister, she directed her attention to the Earthling. "Hey, Marissa."

"Yeah?" She responded, turning around after seeing the soup Mirajane made.

"How much does Yusuke know about marriage?"

Erza was seen spitting and choking on her drink from her cup as she began coughing loudly from her question.

"Ow…!" Mirajane hissed, turning to the side as she clutched her hand with her apron.

"Uh…" Marissa, slightly surprised by her question, went ahead and began stirring the soup in the pot in Mirajane's place. "I think so… you'd have to ask him yourself. I know he studied a lot under the Supreme Kai of Time, marriage might have been taught somewhere during that time knowing her…"

"Hmm, I wonder when he'll propose to Erza and Big Sis." Lisanna said in a teasing voice.

"L-Lisanna…!" Mirajane exclaimed, blushing while rubbing her slightly burned hand under some cold water.

"Y-Y-Yusuke… p-p-propos-proposi…" With her face as red as her hair, Erza couldn't finish her sentence as she continuously stuttered. She started feeling lightheaded, and her vision began spinning.

'Ah… the day that my darling Gray will propose to me…!' Juvia heatedly thought with a blush, hands on her cheeks as she began daydreaming the Ice-Make mage, in a white tuxedo, on one of his knees with a box in his hands that contained a ring within it towards her.

"With how involved the three of you are, it'll only be a matter of time. Maybe one of you can do it instead." Lisanna said with a laugh.

'Marrying Yusuke… that…' Erza began thinking, her body trembling as she looked and held her cup, still feeling her face hot as she unconsciously smiled.

'... that wouldn't be so bad at all.' Mirajane thought as she went to dry her hands with a towel, and as she did she began giggling to herself. Off to the side Marissa saw this, and couldn't help but give a smile towards her.

"By the way… where's Wendy and Mest? Shouldn't they be here by now?" Lisanna asked, looking around.

Coming back to reality, Erza blinked and looked at nowhere in particular, sensing both of the people still rather far away. "You're right, they should've been here a long time ago."

"Is this Mest person new? Must have joined during the two years that I've been away since I never met him in Edolas." Lisanna asked, and from the pot of soup, Marissa froze for a second before she continued stirring.

"He's been here for awhile… most likely doesn't stand out though." Erza replied with a small shrug.

"Juvia shall go look for them and bring them back here." Juvia stood up, volunteering.

"I will go as well, I know where they are, so it'll be easier that way. The rest of you stay here." Erza said, standing up as well as she prompted to walk away from the camp.

'... But Juvia wanted to go cheer on Gray…' The Rain women thought with a pout, and she began following the redhead in the direction that Mest and Wendy were.

"I think this is ready though…" Marissa said, picking up a spoon off to the side as she went and tasted the soup that consisted of potatoes, carrots, pork, and as well as other various vegetables that added to the flavor. "... maybe a little bit more salt."

"Where did you learn to cook, Marissa? Knowing that you're part of the Time Patrol, I wouldn't think you have the time for it." Lisanna questioned.

'... where, huh?' There was a flash of contempt within her eyes before they softened, and let out a small chuckle. "Before joining the Patrol I had a lot of... hobbies. Cooking was one of them, but I didn't learn on my own though."

"What did you do before joining them?"

"..." Marissa heard her question, and as she reached for a bowl to put the soup in...

...It suddenly broke apart in her hands.

All three girls jumped from it, and as Marissa looked closely at her hand she saw herself shaking, her grip on the ladle was tightened until she let it hang on the lip of the pot, and faced away from both of them as she quickly calmed her Ki down.

"... Marissa?" Mirajane softly called out.

"My bad…" Marissa meekly said, and deeply inhaled before letting her breath out as she supported herself on the table with her left hand, and her opposite hand clenching and opening repeatedly. Letting out one last sharp exhale, she turned around with a sad smile towards Mirajane and Lisanna. "It's not really something I like to talk or think about… my past, I mean... "

"O-Oh… I'm sorry…" Lisanna, feeling slightly guilty before she looked down in shame.

"No, it's alright. Maybe one day I can feel comfortable telling it, but now…" Marissa trailed off, as she aimlessly kept on stirring the soup in the pot.

Marissa's hand on the ladle was suddenly stopped by another hand, and she looked to see Mirajane with a comforting smile.

"Mira…?" The Earthling confusedly said until she was enveloped in a hug by the older Strauss sibling.

"There's plenty of us that has had a rough past… so we can understand. It's okay if you aren't ready to share it to us, but when you do, we'll be here to listen." Mirajane softly said.

'I know it's humid out here but… she's so warm…' Marissa dropped the ladle again and slowly hugged back the barmaid with a comforting sigh. The warmth she felt from their hug brought back more memories in her head.

A single person who she thought of from time to time appeared in her mind, a woman with long brown, braided hair giving off a smile that eased her worries.

'… I miss you so much…' Marissa felt a pang in her chest as she closed her eyes thinking back to her friend from long ago.

They separated from each other a moment later with Marissa going ahead and taking another empty bowl from the side before pouring in soup.

"Thanks Mira… I didn't think I needed that, but I feel a lot better now. Here." Marissa handed the barmaid a bowl of soup, to which she happily accepted.

"It's no problem, family looks out for each other, right?" Mirajane replied with a small laugh, and walked towards the table.

'Family, huh… ' The Earthling fondly thought of a smile, and filling up two more bowls in hand, Marissa walked towards the table so that the three of them can eat.

Relaxing with each other they enjoyed the soup as they continued to converse among each other.

... until suddenly, both Mirajane and Marissa felt a shiver down their spine, and both looked in the same direction to where the sudden spike in energy it came from.

"... what's the matter you two?" Lisanna asked, looking up from her spoon towards them.

"This feeling… it's… uneasy." Marissa slowly said with narrowed eyes.

"It's dark…" Mirajane said, and gasped a moment later as she stood up, sensing her little brother to where she felt the magic power. "Elfman is there!"

"What?!" Lisanna exclaimed.

"Evergreen, Natsu and Happy as well… what's going on…?" Marissa muttered loudly enough for them to hear.

"... I have to go!" Mirajane suddenly said, until she felt her arm being gripped and looked to see the Earthling holding her.

"Calm down Mira… it's probably nothing too serious. Let me go, I can get there and back in just a few minutes." Marissa offered, and could see the contemplation within her eyes.

"... alright. Marissa, please make sure they're all safe."

"Don't worry, leave it to me." Ann said with a grin, and placed two fingers on her forehead as she felt the three mages in that area, before her area completely changed.

Around the Earthling, she saw dead, wilted trees and grass on the ground. In front of her, a crouched down Elfman and Evergreen looked ahead while Natsu, with a black scarf, stood ahead in a fighting stance while Happy was a ways away from them.

"What happened…?" Marissa muttered out loud enough for everyone else to take notice of her.

"Marissa…!" Elfman and Evergreen exclaimed as they looked back.

"This person is just wandering around here… my scarf is ruined now too!" Natsu exclaimed, clutching on the clothing Igneel gave him.

"... what person?" Marissa questioned.

"Over… there…?" Evergreen said as she looked and pointed in the direction where she saw the individual, but no one was to be found.

"He left…?" Elfman confusedly asked, looking around.

"Get back here, whoever you are! Turn my scarf back to normal!" Natsu shouted.

"Marissa, what are you doing here though? I don't think you should be on Tenrou Island actually…" Evergreen asked, turning around to face her.

"Uhh… I might have snuck onto the boat." Marissa said with a chuckle. But it didn't last long when she walked forward, observing the damage around them. "It looks like a lot happened just now…were the trees always dead?"

"No, it just happened. The person here just now brought out some magic and the area around him suddenly darkened. If it wasn't for Natsu, I don't think we'd be talking right now." Elfman replied.

"I don't really sense anyone else nearby though… besides the other guys in the exam." Marissa said.

"Hmm, that's right… with someone like that walking around, would it really be a good idea to continue the test?" Evergreen wondered.

"No way, as a Man, I need to continue!" Elfman immediately said.

"We can't stop now, we barely even started!" Natsu, also immediately said that prompted both him Elfman to look at each other with narrowed eyes.

"With Big Sis being an S-Class, it's only right that I am too!" The Strauss brother said.

"I told Gildarts that I'll be making it to S-Class, I'm not stopping until I do!" The Fire Dragon slayer claimed.

"Ah, whatever! Let's continue the exams then!" Evergreen said and sighed in resignation afterwards.

"That person didn't seem so bad at all either, it didn't seem like he had any hostility towards us." Happy mentioned.

"What was this person like?" Marissa questioned.

"He had black hair, and pretty much wore all black too. I think he was crying as well when he talked to us." The blue Exceed answered.

"Huh… I see…"

"What will you be doing?" Evergreen asked the Earthling.

"I think I'm going to head back to camp… don't tell Elfman but, his sister was pretty worried when she felt the magic just now. I'll go back and tell he everything's fine for now." Marissa answered.

"Ever! Let's go!" Elfman said, sprinting in a direction.

"Don't order me around! And don't call me Ever!" She said, running after him.

"Let's go Happy, we gotta find the Firsts' grave!" Natsu shouted, running in the opposite direction.

"Aye! Bye Marissa!" Happy bidded, and his wings grew out behind him as he quickly flew to meet up with Natsu.

"Guess that's that… Mirajane and Lisanna must be worried by now. I better make sure to tell them things are alright." Marissa said, taking one last look at the blackened ground and tree trunks before placing two fingers on her forehead, and phased out.

A large aircraft flew in the air with the help of large amounts of magic within it being used to operate it.

Within it, soldiers and grunts alike all moved around with purpose, either manning certain parts of the carrier or readying themselves for battle.

In the main room of the vehicle where one can see their surroundings entirely within the glass windows, nine people stood by, patiently and anxiously whether it was at the same time or one or the other.

A woman with dark purple hair with long bangs on either side of her face and twintails held by red bands behind her head had an arm extended outwards with a glass orb casually on her forearm. She currently wore a sleeveless purple dress with shoulderless sleeves that flared out around her hands. The image within the glass orb showed a man with black hair, crying and clutching his head.

"I have located him… it seems he is still in a slumber though." The women, Ultear Milkovich, who was once apart of the Magic Council, said as she turned around towards a man much older than her who had a large black cape around him as he stroked his long grey beard. "The time has come… Master Hades."

"Yes it has…" The old man said, resting his face on his hand as he sat on his throne. "The man… rising up on ancient land, mastered Black Magic, created tens of thousands of demons, and then threw the entire world in a havoc. The strongest and most evil man in the history of the magic world… The Black Mage Zeref! … once we arrive on Tenrou Island, and with everything to awaken Zeref from within, it will be on step closer for the One Magic to be in our grasp."

"... however, there is one problem. The island is currently occupied by the guild Fairy Tail. One of the guilds who was involved in taking out Oracion Seis from the Balam Alliance. Or rather… one person from their guild." Ultear said.

"One person… taking out the entirety of Oracion Seis…?" A young girl with pink hair questioned, turning around towards Ultear.

"Hm… you mean the person who doesn't use magic, correct?" Hades asked.

"Yes, Yusuke Yasai. I encountered him back on Galuna Island. He's… interesting." Ultear sagely said, remembering back when she was disguised as the shaman Zalty and fought against him. Her body unconsciously stung from the memory of him hitting her back then, and anger flared within her as she clenched a fist.

"You seem to be irritated when he's mentioned." A tall, goat-like humanoid said as he closed a book in his hand. He had most aspects that of a goat with horns, and a tail, and white skin. He wore a brass band on his wrists, a revealing, suit-like clothes that showed off his abdomen, and black dress pants with a brown belt supporting it. "But it seems that they are not to be underestimated, we must be prepared for anything."

"So what Caprico?! If anyone stands in my way…" Another person stepped forward, revealing the goat-like person's name. He had long, spiky, shaggy hair and wore a yellow and black skirt-like armor with a one shoulder tunic over his left side. He let out a psychotic laughter as black flames started erupting from his body. "I'll just turn them all into ashes! Hahahahahaha!"

"I agree more with Caprico than Zancrow. At last… we will unleash our ultimate desires! I, Rustyrose, will gladly deliver that!" A man, known as Rustyrose, with silver hair styled in a pompadour dramatically said as he flared out his arms.

"I…! I…! Ifeelthesameway!" A large, chubby man quickly said that mostly everyone else couldn't understand.

"Translation… Hikaru says that he feels the same way." The pink haired girl stoically said off to the side, and she caught Ultear turning around to look at her.

"Meldy, will you be joining us in the fight?" The dark haired woman asked.

"Fight…" The pink haired girl, now known as Meldy, silently contemplated for a moment before nodding her head in response.

"Regardless, this will be interesting." Hades said, standing up from his seat as he walked forward. "Today, Fairy Tail will know true darkness. The demons will devour the fairies in our upcoming battle, as Grimoire Heart will acquire Zeref!"

The day went on as all of the participants and their partners that moved on to the next round of finding Fairy Tail's First Master's grave continued. It all seemed normal within the island.

Except near it.

As two figures floated in the air.

A strong breeze blew past them from the height they were currently at in the sky. As the wind blew the wild, spiky black hair from one person and the two green antennas from the other, they both let out a dark grin as they continued watching Tenrou Island below.

So yeah, plenty of things coming up in this arc. Who's gonna be coming to fight Fairy Tail? Lemme know in the reviews!

A lot of it was in Marissa's perspective, so I thought that was neat and it was definitely fun to write. Also shows what she thinks in her head and how she see thinks.

Cana and Lucy vs Freed and Bickslow was changed just slightly, but overall it's the same, figured I change it to how I would play it out than what exactly happened in the show/manga. Make it more interesting and less boring if I just blandly copied it.

And Marissa met someone mysterious too! I thought of this idea from another story that I took inspiration from about 4 years back, thought it'd be an interesting read as to put in and not fully committing to all the fights that happened between the teams and S-Class mages.

Now, I know someone or a few might have wanted to see a Mirajane vs Elfman and Evergreen fight. Yeah I did kinda skip over that, but I'll make that up in the next couple chapters. I promise lol.

Carla's premonitions! I mentioned last chapter I would go over them, and there they are! They are vastly different than what was shown in the main series, take how you will but those scenarios will... well who knows.

There was a slight slight hint at Marissa's past. There's two routes that I want to take it and I'm still deciding, just gimme time. I'm terrible at OC backgrounds and I want to take time to develop them on my own pace.

Hmm... that's pretty much it. As always I will work on the next chapter right away since I'm still pretty motivated to get this arc going, so expect it soon. I can't think of anything to really desire or wish for at the moment, I'm just watching BA on youtube as I type all this out, and their food almost always looks good. Actually, now that I think about it, I want some New York Style pizza. The nice thin crust and standard marinara sauce with mozzarella cheese, now I'm craving it. For once, I just want that wish for myself, just have that kind of pizza appear whenever I crave for it haha.

Also, I've been getting PLENTY of people favoriting and following my story, and thank you, Thank You to those enjoying my story, I greatly appreciate it and it help keeps me motivated to bring out more and more. I really do hope you guys join me in the long run.

Until then!
