Winter walked through the grand hallways of the Ravette Manor. She was bare feet barely made a sound as she continued to walk. Muffled shouts echoed slightly, originating from her parents' bedroom.
"–not harm them! They are children." Winter hears her Mama's shout once she presses herself against the door. "They are MY children."
"You seem to forget, they are mine too. Mine to do whatever I want with," Winter's Mother says in a dark tone of voice. Winter whimpers quietly when she hears a glass shattering.
She hears her mother laugh darkly. "Well, I'll still do whatever the hell I want with them. Even if a few of them aren't–"
The door suddenly opens and makes the young Winter stumble backwards. "Well. Seems one of them is too sneaky for their own worthless selves..." Winter stares up at her Mother in terror.
"M-Mother, I just–I wanted to know–" Winter screams when Diana backhands her. She falls to the ground and grabs her cheek.
"Diana, don't hurt her! Dian–" Whisper is roughly pushed back into the bedroom before the door is slammed closed and locked. Diana stalks over to Winter and grabs her by the chin.
"Let's go. You have a lesson to learn." The woman starts dragging the young girl away by her jaw.
"M-Mother, please. I–I didn't–I didn't mean to–please," Winter struggles to speak with the hand gripping her jaw to the point that it starts to hurt. Tears start to gather and fall as she is dragged down the hallway.
Winter sees a dark door appearing and suddenly getting closer. "Diana, Diana please! She's–she didn't mean to, Diana~!" Whisper screams loudly from their bedroom. Winter feels her breath leave her as quickly as it comes as she is thrown into the dark door. She screams as she falls into the pit behind it.
"Diana!"
Winter wakes up with a small gasp of air. She takes a deep breath and clenches her hands into fists. Sharp stabs of pain travel from her fingers and up her arms from the pressure. The nightmare continues to play in her head as she slowly sits up, her body screaming in pain.
She shakily releases the breath and takes another, glancing around her dark room. Winter gently rubs her exhausted eyes before slowly getting out of bed.
"Day, where is everyone?" Winter asks softly, a screen near nightstand lighting up. She slowly makes her way towards her closet and takes out sweatpants and a hoodie.
Winter ignores the bandages wrapped around her arms and legs. "Lady Whitney is asleep. All of the maids are asleep. Ringo is patrolling the backyard now."
Day, Winter's personal AI, stays quiet for a few moments while Winter puts on the sweatpants and the hoodie. Winter runs a hand through her hair before making her way towards her door.
"Winter, I strongly suggest you stay in bed. You are still recovering from the USJ incident," Day says, making Winter smile softly.
"I'll be back soon and I'll be careful." The white haired teenager walks out of her bedroom and slowly makes her way through the winding halls of the Ravette Mansion. She needed to clear her head.
While Winter doesn't let things of the past get to her, she is still plagued by night terrors. She doesn't really talk about them to anyone and usually–almost all of the time, but no one really needs to know how often–goes for days without sleep by working on her designs or things for her family's company. Because of the USJ incident, she was forbidden from doing any kind of work until Dr. Cross cleared her.
For the past week off from school, Winter has been trying to force herself to sleep, even with her night terrors, and to try and do other things to clear her mind from them. It hasn't been working, at all. So here she is, the night before UA goes back to school, sitting outside in the pouring rain with a large coffee. Quite honestly, she is not doing so well.
"Albino Bitch? What the fuck are you doing here?" Winter looks up when she hears Katsuki. She sees the blonde wearing a hoodie and shorts with an umbrella over his head. He had a bag in his other hand. Winter tries to give him a smile, but only grimaces.
She takes a sip of her coffee. "Hey, Bakugō-san. What are you doing out so late?"
"I should ask you the same fucking question. You're fucking soaked," Katsuki says with a small frown. Winter laughs quietly and nods her head.
"I needed to clear my head," Winter says softly, glancing away from the blonde. She blinks when the rain stops pouring over her and looks back up. Katsuki held the umbrella over her.
"Let's go. Ponytail's gonna be fucking pissed off at you if you got a fucking shitty cold." Winter blinks again when Katsuki holds out his hand. She grabs his hand and grunts in pain while she stands up. She stumbles a bit when one of her legs give out, but Katsuki keeps her standing.
"Are you fucking serious, Albino Bitch? Did you fucking walk all the way here? Fucking idiot," Katsuki growls, quickly moving one of Winter's arm around his shoulders.
Winter smiles softly. "I didn't really pay attention to how long I've been out..."
"God, you're such a fucking idiot, Albino Bitch," Katsuki states in irritation as they start walking towards his home.
"What are you doing out so late?" Winter takes a sip of her coffee. "You never answered."
"The old hag wanted something from the store and didn't want to go herself, so she fucking woke me up to go get it. Fucking bitch."
Winter hums tiredly, downing the rest of her coffee and throwing away the cup when they pass by a trash can. "What time is it?"
"1:30 in the fucking morning last I checked," Katsuki grumbles, adjusting his grip on his bag and umbrella.
"I thought it was later," Winter comments tiredly, rubbing her eyes. She doesn't see Katsuki staring at her heavily bruised and bandaged hands. Her hoodie sleeve falls slightly and reveals her scarred arms covered in bandages.
"When's the last time you fucking slept? You look fucking dead," He asks, making Winter laugh a bit hysterically.
"A full rest or when I last was able to even closed my eyes for more than an hour?" Winter smiles bitterly. "I guess when I first woke up in the hospital. I lost count of the days."
"Ponytail's gonna kill you." Katsuki sighs with an eye roll. Winter laughs again and shrugs. They reach Katsuki's home.
"Hey, old hag! I'm back," Katsuki says loudly as he walks into the modest home. He closes his umbrella and places it in its stand. No one answers.
Katsuki growls under his breath and helps Winter deeper into the home. "Fucking bitch went back to bed. Fucking damnit."
"Hope you don't fucking mind, but I'm taking you up to my room. My old hag will start a fucking riot if she sees you on the couch. She'll think I kidnapped you or some shit," Katsuki says quietly as he enters his room. Winter smiles softly when she sees the hero merch around the room. Near the door was a bookshelf filled with romance novels and shōjo manga. She doesn't comment on it.
"You didn't have to do this Bakugō-san, so I appreciate it," Winter says softly while Katsuki gently helps her sit on his desk chair.
Katsuki rolls his eyes, ears turning pink. "Whatever, Albino Bitch. I'm just making sure you don't get a fucking cold, 'cause you decided to be an idiot."
The blonde walks over to his closet and takes out a hoodie and another pair of sweatpants. He then tosses it over to the white haired teenager.
"Put that on. You're wet clothes are going to ruin my mattress," Katsuki snarks, making Winter smile again.
"He's incredibly nice. I wonder why he doesn't let it show..." Winter takes off her soaked hoodie to reveal her tank top and bandaged arms and chest.
"You look like shit, ya know." The statement startles Winter. She looks up to see Katsuki staring at her injuries with a worryingly blank expression. Thunder booms loudly outside.
"It'll take a bit more time to heal, but Dr. Cross says I'll be healed enough for the Sports Festival." She slowly pulls on the dry hoodie. "Besides, they aren't the most painful injuries I have received."
"...what's the worst injury you ever received?"
Winter freezes up. She stares down at her shaking hands and clenches them. Pain shoots from her fingertips, keeping her grounded.
"You–you don't want to know, Bakugō-san. Not many can stomach the thought..." Winter trails off quietly, glaring down at her hands. She takes a deep breath and slowly stands up.
"Can I use your bathroom to change my sweatpants? And do you have a ePhone charger?" Winter changes the subject while she walks over to Katsuki's bathroom.
"Sure. Let me see your shitty phone."
Winter smiles brightly and hands her dead phone to the blonde. "Thank you, Bakugō-san."
"And stop this fucking formality shit."
"Definitely a caring person. It's weird that he hides behind anger and aggression..." Winter walks into the bathroom with the thought pushed to the back of her mind.
Hey! Hope you like the new chapter! Bye.
Also, don't worry about the things I've planned for Winter. They'll come soon enough.
