So, Winter got a cold. Turns out, she was outside in the rain for about two hours. She already had a weakened immune system through family genetics, but adding the fact she is still incredibly injured, she was not doing so good. Not to mention that Ringo took the entire ride to school to scold her when Iehisa came to pick her and Katsuki up from Katsuki's home. With the scolding, she also has a small headache.
"Thank you, Fujibayashi-kun," Winter says softly, voice slightly hoarse. The man just smiles kindly before driving off. Winter shivers despite the warm weather and walks with Katsuki flanking her left and Ringo flanking her right.
"I can't be a bodyguard if you sneak out, Winter. I am so telling Whitney, and Momo!" Ringo exclaims while handing Winter a bag with her uniform inside once they stop by a girl's restroom.
Winter leans over to Katsuki. "Please distract him for me. I would prefer not to deal with a headache while I'm sick." With that said she enters the restroom and quickly takes one of the stalls.
A few minutes later, Winter comes back out wearing her uniform and Katsuki's hoodie. Her hair was in a small ponytail, a few strands falling out and the bags under her eyes were pronounced with her pale skin. She hands the bag back to Ringo before grabbing her satchel.
"Ringo-kun before you continue your scolding, Bakugō-kun and I have to get to class. Momo-chan will continue your scolding, I'm sure," The white haired teenager says softly, interrupting Ringo before he could open his mouth. He pouts and crosses his arms, making Winter sigh in relief.
"C'mon, Albino Bitch. We're gonna be late." Katsuki starts walking towards the stairs. Winter follows after him, quickly catching up without walking any faster.
They stay in a comfortable silence as they walk towards their class. "If you get me sick, you'll have fucking hell to pay."
Winter laughs quietly at the sudden declaration before smiling down at the blonde. They stop in front of the classroom door.
"Of course," She says with a small nod before opening the door and walks in first.
"Winter Rose Hisae Branwen Artemis Ravette!" Momo exclaims with a heavy glare. Winter sighs heavily and rubs the back of her neck.
"Hey, Momo-chan. I see Ringo-kun has already told you about last night."
Winter rubs her temples while she takes deep breaths to keep her irritation in check. Momo and Ringo continues to scold her, ignoring their lunch to do so. She was perfectly aware that her class was just watching on the sidelines. Katsuki was on his phone, ignoring the commotion.
"Winter-kun, are you even listening?!" Ringo exclaims with his hands on his hips.
Winter brings her attention back on her bodyguard. "No. I stopped paying attention to your needless scolding three minutes ago."
"Winter-kun–"
"Ringo, I am still healing from grievous injuries, I have had 4 hours of sleep in total of the entire week, last week, I am sick, and with the non-stop scolding from both you and Momo, I am on my way to getting a migraine and it's not even lunch yet. I know sneaking out wasn't the smartest decision. Please leave me alone," Winter finally snaps before standing up to walk out of the classroom.
She gasps quietly when her leg gives out and she falls forward. Before she could hit her head on the corner of a desk, someone reaches out and quickly wraps around her upper body.
"Albino Bitch you are such a fucking idiot, seriously," Katsuki snarks loudly while he unwraps his arms from the white haired teenager. He keeps a secure hold on her, in case she fell again. She slowly stands up again, only to collapse back on her knee.
"Seriously?" Winter grunts in pain and sits back, feeling her migraine get worse.
Ringo places the back of his hand against Winter's forehead and frowns. "I'm taking you to Recovery Girl. You're at a normal temperature."
"Isn't that a good thing?" Izuku asks worriedly. Momo shakes her head as Ringo carefully crouches down and carries the white haired teenager bridal style.
"Winter-chan has a much lower body temperature than the average human. So having a normal body temperature is equivalent to a severe fever for her," Momo explains before grabbing Winter's bag.
"Bakugō-san, can you carry Winter-chan's bag to the infirmary? She'll get bored laying around without anything to do," She asks and hands the satchel to the blonde. He growls under his breath, but grabs the satchel, slouching after Ringo and Winter.
"Ringo-kun, I'm fine. It's my injuries, not my illness," Winter says tiredly, but doesn't make any move to get out of her bodyguard's hold.
"Whitney's going to be so worried..."
"What do you mean? Mama was completely cleared by Dr. Chess," Winter asks worriedly, watching Recovery Girl take some of her blood.
"I don't know. I think Lady Fujita did some bullshit to her. She won't be able to make it to the meetings there." Taylor sighs heavily into the phone. "I understand you were severely injured, but you need to attend these meetings."
"I know that, Vincent. Can you update my schedule to include the meetings?" Winter asks while rubbing her forehead. Her migraine is in full swing.
"How is she? Does Whitney know?" The white haired teenager adds softly, putting her phone between her ear and shoulder and lifting her other arm. She puts pressure on her inner elbow after Recovery Girl takes out the syringe.
"Lady Whitney is on her way here. She's bringing the medication. Mistress Whisper is... she isn't doing well," Taylor says.
Winter sighs heavily and leans back. "How is the search for my own assistant?"
"Not well. They're either severely under-qualified, or don't pass the necessary background checks," Taylor says, going back into his business mode. Winter bites the inside of her cheek and keeps her annoyance at bay.
"Okay. Continue the search. I'll send my latest designs at the scheduled time. Take care of Mama." She hangs up and tosses her phone of the end table next to the cot. She takes a deep breath and rubs her eyes, completely exhausted and annoyed at her throbbing pain.
"Recovery Girl-san, do you have any migraine medication?" She asks softly while she opens her satchel to take out her tablet.
"A stressful talk, dearie?" The old woman comments while handing the teenager a small cup of water and two migraine pills.
"More worrying than stressful." Winter quickly pops the pills into her mouth and downs the water. "The migraine is from Ringo-kun and Momo-chan scolding me for the entire day before I collapsed."
"Are you going to continue to worry your classmates to death, Ravette?" Shōta's dry statement startles the white haired teenager, making her drop her tablet. She hisses in pain when the tablet lands on her legs and sends sharp pains up her body.
"Hello, Aizawa-Sensei. I hope not, though I did not expect myself to collapse today," Winter says, calming her heart down. Shōta stares at his student with a deadpan expression before sitting down in a chair beside her cot.
"I hope you aren't pushing your still healing body past its limit. I will pull you out of the Sports Festival if this continues to happen." Winter smiles softly and shakes her head.
"I'm not. Dr. Cross would have my head," Winter answers sheepishly. "It was probably not the best idea to wander outside in the rain for hours last night, though."
"Yes, I hope you don't make that a habit, dearie. From what I've read in your file, you already have a weak immune system–adding the injuries you have, a cold will be detrimental to your healing process," Recovery Girl says with a small glare.
"Nezu is in a meeting right now, but he sent me to tell you and the other four students that you're lesson with him will be today," Shōta says, making Winter frown slightly.
"Yes, the oh-so top secret lesson that is most likely about manipulation and grey morals," She snarks lightly before she picks up her tablet. "I look forward to it."
Hey! Hope you like the new chapter. A bit of a filler I guess. And don't think I didn't forget about the dramatic dinner with Winter, Whitney, and the Todoroki Family. It'll happen soon enough.
Hope you all are enjoying the story so far! Bye.
