Chapter 44 Catching Feelings

The moon shined brightly on a dark gloomy night while the cicadas and crickets set the scenery with calls. That was disturbed when a car dashed through the night streets stopping for no one. The engine roared loudly waking up the neighborhood from the reckless driver. Blood was soaked on his hands and he had the look of a mad wolf. Sweat was trickling down his face and his stomach was playing twister. The car stopped on a dime in front of his sketchy home and he clumsy rushed out into his house. After the incident he witnessed he couldn't hold himself together anymore and was having a panic attack. His house was slightly messy with broken bottles and loose pizza boxes along with clothes everywhere. But that didn't affect him as he ran through his home into the bathroom harshly puking in the toilet several times. He reached for his cabinet knocking all the bathroom accessories on the floor as his face was puffing redder by the minute. The medication he takes was out of reach and he began to feel dizzy, losing color in his eyes, muscles tension, and started to breath heavily. He put in one final effort pushing himself up on the counter finally reach his needle, stabbing himself pushing the liquid in his bloodstream. After a few seconds his heavy breathing calmed down along with all the other symptoms.

"You disappointed me Garth" A voice said bluntly.

"WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO!...LEAVE ME ALONE!..PLEASE!" Garth screamed raspily crying lightly from his mental pain.

"You know what WE want and until you achieve it... you're gonna live in agony with yourself" The voice said and Garth head thumped back with pain.

"AHHHH STOP...PLEASE!" Garth begged holding onto his head with his eyes tightly closed sobbing.

"THEN STOP FAILING AND MAYBE YOU WON'T BE IN THIS SITUATION" His clone conscious said appearing in front of him.

"I-I can't…-"

"Enough...you're being weak Garth you're so much better than this..we are an unbreakable bond and you know no one can fuck with us..but..I have a solution" He said grinning.

"I'll do anything just get out my fucking head" Garth said begging at this point. His evil clone bended to his level as he continues to hold his head in slight pain.

"Load...your guns...we're gonna have a little target practice for your school...if you can't have Kate no one can...period" He said evilly then whistled a part from the song Pumped Up Kicks walking through a wall disappearing.

"IT'S FUCKED UP HOW YOU PLAY ME!" Garth yelled out at his way with tears soaking his cheeks.

"Then do what I say and erase me.." He quoted faintly, and Garth rushed to his fridge grabbing a bottle of liquor. Popping it open stumbling down into his basement to all his weaponry.

Garth swallowed as much liquor trying to get rid of the pain he has been dealing with. But all the shit he's done in the past week is way too hard to drink away. Drowsily he put the liquor on the counter, and grabbed a duffle bag slamming it on the table. Garth packed ammunition, extended clips, and laser sights all while thinking his plots through. There's no way he can shoot up a school by himself, he's gonna need help and a lot of it. He slid his hands down in his pocket and dialed a number while piecing a M24 sniper together. It rung a few times before a deep voice answered.

"What?" The unknown wolf asked.

"You still have good sniping skills?" Garth asked.

"Of course you think it'll just disappear?" The wolf asked taking it offensive.

"Well I have a bounty on a group of wolves head for a price at Jasper High" Garth said casually as if he sets bounties all the time.

"Who are the unlucky guys?" The wolf asked.

"I'll speak with you off the phone...meet me at 2002 Hollygrove street tomorrow night at 8:00 PM" Garth said in a secret voice.

"At least tell me what I getting into" The wolf said.

"Look you know when ever I call you I want you to blow someone's brains out...just meet me at the location and we'll exchange weaponry" Garth said staring to get upset.

"Okay okay fine but it better be for a good price" The wolf said before hanging up.

Garth put his phone back in his pocket and lined up the cross hairs on a target pulling the trigger to hear a click. Garth never wanted to be the crazy wolf he has become but the voices in his head controlled him. It tears him apart deep inside that he's damaging people's lives but the feeling it gave off does put a smile on his face. Garth grinned before picking up the ACR shooting a few very accurate shots at targets.

Uphill Jasper

Humphrey and his friends all got off from their weekend jobs and were heading to grab some brunch at a pizza and deli restaurant. All of them was fresh to the news of Drake's death and still haven't quite accepted it yet. Most of the day before working they've been cracking jokes and smoking their lungs out to occupy themselves. For the first time in a long time, Humphrey cried his eyes out that night Kate and him found out on the news. Kate supported him the best she could until he somehow lured himself to sleep on her shoulder. Drake was Humphrey's only friend he felt like he can tell anything to and get a logical answer. Drake always gave the best advice and supported his friends even when they were in the wrong. Now that he's gone things won't ever be the same without him. Humphrey knew Winter must be torn apart about his passing and actually was looking forward to sharing his untold secrets to her. The guys all walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by Sweets.

"Hey guys...usual?" Sweets asked with a small smile already tapping their orders into the touchscreen register.

"You know it" Salty said smirking and Sweet's eyes wandered up to Humphrey who was just staring out the window with his hands in his pockets. Watching families cross the street to the restaurant while cars waited for them to pass.

"Humphrey how are you holding up?..Kate told me about last night" Sweets said in a caring tone and all the guys frowned. Humphrey cleared his throat and said.

"I-I...I'm okay at the moment..some food would make me feel a little better" Humphrey said half smiling trying his best to not break it. Sweets nodded and finished putting the orders in before saying.

"It's on the house for you guys...come this way" Sweets said grabbing three cups below the small desk counter counter leading the way.

As the group of friends followed Sweets to an available table; she passed by Keith who was sitting down gazing in the menu seeming confused on what he want. Squinting his eyes to read what was on the dessert side. Of course his twin brother Raven was there making out with his girlfriend like they weren't in a PUBLIC restaurant.

"Hey guys which one you think I should get the peach cobbler or..the...nevermind.." Keith said shaking his head after looking up to see they're going at it again.

"Mmmm BABY" Raven muffled out in between the making out session. Keith glued his eyes back in the menu and Sweets fluttered her tail underneath his chin; shooting him a cheesy smirk that made Keith chuckle.

"You guys are a thing now?" Shakey asked still following Sweets to their table.

"Hm I don't know maybe...here you guys go...and um it'll be a while because Candy's the only one in the kitchen right now" Sweets said has she sat all their cups on the table.

"It'll be fine we planned on being here for a while anyway" Salty said sitting in his chair along with his in their own.

"Can you turn on the game please?" Shakey asked and Sweets nodded before walking away. Before any of them said anything Keith walked over to Humphrey giving him an unexpected awkward hug. Salty and Shakey was confused but also curious to what he's doing and why.

"Okay soooo are you two a thing now too?" Shakey asked and Salty laughed.

"Um dude what are you doing?" Humphrey asked as Keith kept hugging him.

"I heard about your friend and just thought you needed a hug" Keith said pulling away with a smile.

"Umm thanks I guess" Humphrey asked in almost a question like tone.

"Anytime bud" Keith said beginning to walk away but Humphrey stopped him.

"Wait what about Salty and Shakey he was friends with them too" Humphrey said smirking and Keith shot them a strange cheesy smile before walking to them.

"Bring it in guys" Keith said smiling hard reaching out his arms

"No I'm fine I have this-"

"Uh I don't think a hug would help me-"

They didn't get to finish their sentences as Keith hugged them both in a headlock like position.

"Awww isn't this great...I think I just made two new friends..I hope my hug cheered you shy dogs up" Keith said before breaking the hug with a small smile.

"Ehh" They spontaneously said.

"Keith come here for a second I need to talk to you about something" Sweets said licking her lips seductively, which would be hot for any single guy watching her.

"Okay coming" Keith said before turning back to us.

"Anytime you need a hug let me know because everyone needs a hug to brighten their day" Keith said smiling and suddenly was pulled back by his shirt collar.

"Fuck you" Salty said to Humphrey once they were out of sight. Humphrey just snickered and began drinking his Sprite.

"What the hell is wrong with that guy anyways does he not care about personal space?" Shakey asked slightly upset.

"I don't think he knows what personal space means" Salty said sitting his iPhone on the table.

"Hey dude like he said...everyone needs a hug to brighten their day" Humphrey said chuckling.

"There's not a problem with that but it becomes one when you're hugging males longer than females" Shakey said shaking his head.

"Apparently that doesn't matter since he's probably tearing up Sweets pussy in the meat room as we speak" Shakey said getting a chuckle out of all of them.

"Speaking of somebody wanting to get their pussy torn up here comes Candy Humphrey brace yourself for a compliment" Salty said chuckling and Shakey laughed.

Humphrey rolled his eyes and rose up to go to the restroom while she walked over with the food. Candy slowly placed the pizza on the tables naming them as she sat it down; but soon realized those orders sounds familiar.

"Oh of course it was you guys I knew the order sound familiar once I said it out loud" Candy said giggling before filling up their drinks with the pitcher.

"Can you turn on the game please because I think your sister forgot to" Shakey said taking a slice of pizza and placing it on his plate.

"Sure give me one second" Candy said walking a short distance to the remote turning on the TV flipping through channels to the game. Candy came back with a bright smile seeming like she was looking for someone.

"Uhhh are you lost?...need help with something?" Shakey asked swallowing his food.

"Where's Humphrey?...he's usually the one who orders the BBQ pizza" Candy said turning her head around the restaurant to spot him.

"He's here but I don't know where he's at..restroom maybe he didn't say though" Salty said taking another bite while watching the game with Shakey.

"YEAHHH TOUCHDOWN" Shakey shouted while a few other wolves cheered for the same team.

"What I tell you dude Mike Thomas is a beast" Salty said doing their signature handshake. Candy rolled her eyes and mumbled.

"Boys" Candy said giggling walking away to find Humphrey to tease him as usual.

Candy was walking to the restroom area when she caught a familiar looking guy from the corner of her eye. It was Humphrey leaning on the safety bars outside the restaurant watching over the city below him. The pizza restaurant was built on the mountains and was the best place to eat and have a gorgeous view over the city. That's one of the reasons why so many wolves come to eat well afternoon to watch the sunset. Candy grew a smirk on her face but it slowly disappeared when she noticed he's sad about something. Tears were streaming down his slight red face before wiping them away with his arm sleeves.

"Hey Humphrey?...are you..crying?" Candy asked in a soft caring tone. Humphrey jumped and nearly fell to his death over the bars.

"Oh hey no...the v-view..it's..*clears throat*...so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes s-sometimes" Humphrey stuttered trying his best to avoid Candy's beaming light brown eyes. Candy smiled a bit walking closer and said.

"Humphrey you don't have to lie to me...you can tell me anything you know that right?" Candy asked sweetly, and Humphrey sighed turning his attention back to the view not saying a word.

"Is it about Drake?" Candy asked walking next to Humphrey joining in on spectating the scenery. It was a small silence and then Humphrey spoke up.

"He was the one who told me about this restaurant...the view was just that great it redeemed stress" Humphrey said staring at a flock of birds flying southern.

"When I was struggling with school work..parent issues...or even tying my shoes as a kid...we would always come here together to cheer me up" Humphrey finished messing around with a ring on his finger.

"Yeah I know it really sucks losing friend that you're really close to...let's hope whoever did this gets justice" Candy said in a upward tone.

"I want him back..not justice...whoever killed him would have to live with themselves...if I would of known my best friends last day alive would have been yesterday there's so much I wanted to tell him before he left" Humphrey said starting to tear up again but wiped it with his arm sleeves but it slid down his cheeks.

"Like what?" Candy asked tilting her head looking up at him with honest eyes.

"First I would tell him goodbye and uh...tell my mom thank you and that I love her very much" Humphrey said smirking which placed a bigger smile on Candy's face.

"You ever thought about how it would be when you see her again?" Candy asked randomly.

"Yes many many times...for the past years I've been seeing my mom in my dreams and she was incredibly beautiful" Humphrey said smiling to himself.

"Most dreams I would be in paradise with her" Humphrey finished staring in her eyes.

"Don't you think that's a bad sign?" Candy asked.

"Good and bad but I didn't pay too much mind to it" Humphrey said watching back over the city.

"How was the paradise?...you know in your dreams?" Candy asked smiling a bit that's he's opening up to her. Something he most likely should only be doing with Kate.

"It's perfect and so peaceful with no sickness..no hate..no crime..and most importantly no evil...just eternal life in happiness and love...all my family was there with with me...including you" Humphrey said shyly to admit.

"I was in your dream?" Candy asked smiling amazed Humphrey actually dreams about her.

"Yeah..and uh don't take this to the heart but...you were actually very pretty as an angel" Humphrey said making her blush deeply flattered from his words.

"Explain how can I not take what you said to the heart?...did you just hear yourself?" Candy asked playfully giggling and Humphrey chuckled along.

"Maybe I should head back now...you know how stupid my friends can get when I'm not there to supervise them" Humphrey said chuckling and Candy laughed.

"You-"

Candy didn't finish her sentence after tripping over the leg of a chair possibly falling to her embarrassment. Humphrey was quick on his feet and caught her bride style before it turned to be a very bad day for Candy. They was frozen in the position as both their cheeks turned a bright red. It felt like they were in one of those movies where time stopped around them while the camera panned to their faces. The moment felt right but Candy didn't want to betray her best friend and lean in for another kiss on day two. Keith happened to be walking by with half his shirt buttoned with lipstick kisses all over his face. He grinned widely and just had to say something about the position they were in.

"Oh is there something I should know about you twooo?" Keith asked with a creepy cheesy smirk. Humphrey quickly put Candy back on her feet and fled the scene.

"Uhh..n-no not really...nothing at all" Humphrey said hastily walking past Keith back to his friends. Candy let out a disappointed sigh and sat down in the chair moving her hair away from her face.

"What's wrong?" Keith asked curious.

"Nothing" Candy said with her hands over her face clearly agitated about something.

"Do you need a huuugg?" Keith asked with his arms wide and dazzling smile. Candy tried not to but she couldn't help not cracking a smile.

"Why do you love hugging wolves so much?" Candy asked giggling on how friendly her sisters new boyfriend is.

"Because why would I not?...it makes everyone happy duhh...now do you need a huuugg?" Keith repeated again in a childish tone this time.

"Sure I can use one of your famous hugs" Candy said rolling her eyes with a small giggle. Keith didn't hesitate to place her in a big warm bear hug. After a while he pulled away and stared in her eyes and said.

"Feeling better?" Keith asked happily rubbing the side of her arm for comfort.

"Much better" Candy said smiling widely.

"Good" Keith said attempting to walk away but Candy held onto his wrists.

"Hey you're a guy right...how could you know when a guy likes you back from a girls protective?" Candy asked looking for a honest answer.

"Usually a guy is very hesitant around a girl he likes...chokes on his words time to time..umm..may even avoid eye contact after a compliment maybe...but every guy is different you'll never know what grape you'll pick sometimes..it could be one with seeds or without but I say take your chances" Keith said and Candy sat quietly processing what he said.

"Just think about it.." Keith said walking away but turning around once he reached the restaurant entrance.

"Oh yeah and if you ever need a hug I'm your guy" Keith said proudly.

"I'll keep that in mind.." Candy said giggling.
