Kamen Rider Smash

Episode 18 – Enemies All Around

Data File #21: A New Power

"Well I was right to be worried, and grateful our luck was as strong as it was. The fact that Kenshin was at the Mushroom Kingdom when an invasion occurred was nothing short of a miracle. Despite this Dedede has received word that Marth and Tiki have been taken with Roy having to fill in. Needless to say we were caught off guard, but we at least have some good news out of this. Kenshin's somehow obtained a new form and a new Rider has been unveiled, likely Palutena's doing, but he seems to just be helping for now. At least she's being reasonable about this compared to last time."

Palutena's Log #07: Growing Concerns

"Eiji seems to be making good progress in earning the trust of the various leaders. Despite this the Subspace Army is completely catching us off guard. I'll need to try and stay one step ahead of the game while hoping Eiji can use Assister to its fullest potential given Byleth's comments of his lacking in skill."

It had been several days since the attacks on Hyrule, Altea and the Mushroom Kingdom. Kenshin had returned once relief efforts were in full swing for the Mushroom Kingdom while depositing any spare Tokens he had to CORE Storage. Everyone was a bit confused at the Smash Trinity Token, though Dr. Mario related it to Kenshin starting to get a handle on his powers. Of course it wasn't long before things started to sink back into normalcy or at least as normal as they could get.

"I've got to say that's pretty incredible," Junmei remarked as she and her brother walked through the streets of Smash City. "You're resolve just helping you create a new power."

"I still don't get the whole trinity thing though, was it really a big deal back home?" Kenshin asked.

"Yep, Mario, Link and Pikachu are all part of gaming franchises that people feel makes up a big three of sorts related to a company named Nintendo."Junmei explained. "I suppose your powers were also drawing on your dormant memories."

"Huh… that's kind of cool actually," Kenshin admitted as he stuffed his hands in his pockets before noticing what street they were on. "I suppose this is where we split up."

"It still isn't fair!" Junmei suddenly groaned out while raising her arms up high.

"Hey, I won the coin toss so I get the cool and mysterious "R.O.B. Malfunction" mission, while you get the boring and tedious "CORE Supply Restock" mission." Kenshin crossed his arms while wearing a smug grin.

"Sometimes I wonder if you rig those coin tosses…" Junmei gave a light glare.

"Hey maybe I am just that lucky," Kenshin kept up his grin before patting his sister on the back. "Don't worry, Samus made sure to write the specifics down so you'll be fine. I figure mine might be boring anyway." He then began to head off in the opposite direction. "I'll see you back at the base later."

Junmei stared as he brother walked off before looking over in the direction of where her first supply stop would be. "I was really hoping to get a combat mission…" She trailed, remembering the rest of her conversation at The Gates of Hell.

Several Days ago...

"Fighting you right now likely wouldn't do a thing," Rodin mentioned. "While you likely do give off both light and dark energy while you fight. You need to be in a legitimate fight and not a sparring match while accessing those powers for us to really feel for anything different."

"And how am I supposed to do that…?" Junmei groaned.

"Well those Subspace Army freaks like to pop out a lot right?" Bayonetta mentioned. "Instead of going for what I assume is your standard form with the sword, use the ones that draw on those powers specifically."

"Okay, but how the heck are you two going to be able to figure something out if I don't know when that will happen?" Junmei asked.

"Trust me hon, we have our ways," Bayonetta simply gave a wink.

"My information network is vast, and she's fast as all hell," Rodin answered. "So don't go underestimating us already."

"If you say so…" Junmei was grateful that Bayonetta really didn't care about starting up trouble but she was really annoyed she was still at no real progress.

Present Day...

"Still, who knows what might happen," Junmei reminded herself, given all the unexpected events happening she still had to be on guard. She then looked at her list then sighed; it was a lot larger than a normal shopping list. If only because there were specific instructions on how to get certain items, which made her question why they didn't just send someone else out.

She gave a frustrated groan before heading on her way, continuing to grumble about Kenshin managing to win out in their picking missions.

Unknown to her at the moment though, she was being watched. There were quite a few Auroros perched and keeping watch over Smash City. These particular Auroros though had their video feed going directly through to Meijin and Sayomi who were both awaiting this chance.

"And you're absolutely sure you can't reach him?"

"Positively sure, I've been trying to reach him once the news from Altea and the Mushroom Kingdom finally reached me."

Palutena was currently conversing with King Dedede, the goddess having tried to reach out to Mewtwo considering recent events. When that had failed she had preemptively sent Eiji and Byleth down to Kanto to check up on him. While they were on their way she decided to contact Smash City's President to see if he had any luck.

"Well that isn't good," Palutena sighed. "While he doesn't like to check in regularly this is still a bit concerning. I've already sent down my Kamen Rider and his Mentor to see what we can make of the situation."

"That's good," King Dedede admitted before clearing his throat. "That being said… there ain't going to be no funny business, right?"

"I understand my actions in the past with Junmei haven't put me in the best light with you," Palutena replied. "But know that my current goal is to protect this world from the New Subspace Army. I simply believed it was time to bring in a third hero."

"I hope you know what you're doing," Dedede warned. "Because it's one thing to help out, it's another to go behind our backs again and create another entirely new Rider. Especially since it seems like he isn't tied to this conflict at all from the reports you've turned in."

"He may not be but I did give him the choice after carefully figuring he would be our best candidate," Palutena answered firmly. "I'd like to have faith in him just like you've had faith in Kenshin and Junmei."

"I suppose I can do that so long as you're not trying to make things too complicated and start another Rider Fight," Dedede answered.

"Trust me, it's against my best interests to have them all fighting," Palutena said. "I'll simply support Kenshin and Junmei in my own way."

"If you say so, the minute you find something out about Kanto's situation let me know," Dedede said before dismissing his transmission.

"Support them in your own way," A voice said causing Palutena to turn and see Dark Pit approaching. "So that includes holding back the Tokens?"

"As happy I would be to hand them out…" Palutena trailed. "Your report alongside Pit's regarding Junmei concern me heavily. The idea that she has this perfect balance between light and dark… something that shouldn't be possible for a normal human."

"And you don't want to risk something dangerous happening by giving her our Tokens," Dark Pit finished for her.

"Essentially, after all, you and Pit are two sides of the same coin," Palutena answered. "Both of her last forms focused on one element each. Dark Samus gave her access to the dark power of phazon without any adverse side effects. The Belmont's gave her access to the power of light alongside a purifying power."

"Him and I are natural opposites, light and dark," Dark Pit replied. "You're worried that there might be a different kind of reaction if she uses them, right?"

"Sadly yes, which is why they'll need to be held under lock and key for the meantime," Palutena answered. "At least until we can figure out the origin of those powers."

"And if she comes asking for them?" Dark Pit asked, reminding Palutena that Junmei is well aware of the medals they have in their possession.

"I'll deny her flat out until we can find out more about her powers," Palutena stated firmly before taking off. "Just like Kenshin it's a risk I'd rather not take and let grow out of control."

"That explains ours but what about the other Tokens?" Dark Pit asked. "It's not like we can use them."

"True we may not be able to use them, but having them in our care is fine for now," Palutena replied. "If Smash and Echo gain a Token then CORE can have it, if Eiji gets a Token then if he doesn't want it he can give it to me. Splitting up the Tokens is fine and keeping them from the Subspace Army is the most important part."

It didn't take long for Eiji and Byleth to arrive at Kanto or at least at the border of Kanto as the region was a bit of a special one. There were designated entry points and landing zones with most of the region being cut off by a wall. This was done on order of Mewtwo, who felt that while Pokemon should be free, he didn't like that some might be taken advantage of. So as a result most Pokemon ended up staying in Kanto with only a few heading to other regions or Smash City.

Despite this, Kanto was one of the largest regions, covering a wide variety of land and having plenty of different biomes in it. Of course that was also because Mewtwo was allowed to choose first, not that there was much room for complaints. The multiple biomes made others wary of setting up their capitals there. Of course through various arrangements there were various research and protection stations placed throughout the region to help deter anyone with less than savory ideas.

Needless to say their visit ended up being more concerning once they arrived. They already noticed the lack of security as well as the forced open gateways and damages to the surroundings. Security Mii's were all thrown about, barely conscious.

Byleth quickly hurried over to one that seemed to still be conscious while trying to get up. "Take it easy, I assume you were hit pretty hard, just what happened?"

"M-Malice…" The Security Mii managed to get out. "It attacked us and tore through the gateway…"

"Were there any attempts to contact any of the Leaders?" Byleth asked.

"Couldn't… communications were jammed, all we could do is try and defend until Mewtwo got here… but we couldn't hold it back," The Mii answered.

"Jammed communications?" Eiji asked.

"Quite possibly the Malice had some assistance via the Subspace Army," Byleth guessed.

"N-No, it was by itself," The Mii explained. "It just tore through our defenses like nothing… I'm not sure even Mewtwo can beat it."

"For now get some rest, we'll be back with some help but we need to stop that Malice," Byleth said as she went towards the broken gate, Eiji following after her.

"We need to get going, we're late enough as it is," Eiji said as he realized that while they were talking the Malice was likely causing more trouble. "How are they getting so ahead of us?"

"I'm afraid I can't say for certain," Byleth admitted. "Which is concerning. It's like we have to run ourselves ragged to just barely get ahead."

"I don't like this one bit," Eiji admitted. "We have to try and catch them off guard sometime."

"You say that yet we've managed to surprise them on your appearance," Byleth replied. "We've been disrupting them as best we can, plus collecting every Smash Token we find. The less they have for Malice's the better for us."

"Right…" Eiji gave a nod, though he was still focusing on the fact that he seemed like he was barely doing anything for the world in his current state. "Do you have any idea what we're facing down?"

"Sadly no, but something tells me it might be a technological Malice if it's disrupting communications," Byleth guessed. "Just stick with me; this could be our toughest fight yet."

"And you're sure it was a malfunction?" Kenshin asked.

"Positively certain, it just started throwing boxes everywhere while making strange noises," A clerk Mii explained.

The Rider was currently interviewing the main clerk/owner of a fairly big convenience store. The two having a conversation in the front since there wasn't any business at the moment. Kenshin was a bit skeptical though, wondering if the clerk was trying to get a refund.

"Mind if I interview the R.O.B. in question?" Kenshin asked.

"I'm not sure what's the point, can't you take my word that the machine is busted?" The clerk questioned.

"Just want to get a different perspective on this is all," Kenshin answered. "So is that a yes?" He asked as he waited for some kind of confirmation before the clerk gave a nod. "Thanks."

"I'm still not sure if you'll find anything, it might be best to just send in for a new one," The clerk finally spoke up.

"Hey listen; I'm not the repairman alright? Just an investigator, you'd still have to pay a fee for replacement because I'm sure as heck not the one who does this and can't get you a deal," Kenshin answered a bit more bluntly. "So just let me see if there's a bit more to this issue."

"F-Fine…" The Clerk sighed, realizing that Kenshin was making this tough.

"Good," Kenshin said before heading to the back where the stock was, seeing a Cyan R.O.B. with blue arms. "Hey there, how's it going?"

"O-Oh, I heard someone was coming but I didn't think they'd interview me," The R.O.B. admitted as it gently set down the box. "It's… about what I did right?"

"You're aware of the malfunction?" Kenshin asked.

"… Do… do you like us machines?" The R.O.B. asked. "Can I trust you with something?"

"He's treating you unfairly isn't he?" Kenshin inquired in a lower voice as he walked over and squatted down near the R.O.B., giving a sigh. "It was an outburst wasn't it?"

"N-Not really," The R.O.B. admitted. "It was more like… a suggestion in my programming. It said that I shouldn't be so compliant with all this work, being used as a tool. I know us R.O.B.'s are here to support everyone and we're guaranteed jobs but I feel less like a worker and more like a tool."

"Oh jeez, I'm not exactly the best person on robot ethics," Kenshin sighed once more. "I'll see what I can do to straighten out the owner. But like… are other R.O.B.'s like this? They have suggestions like this too?"

"We aren't connected to deeply, but it was in one of my standard files," The R.O.B. admitted. "I'm just tired of all this…"

"I see… well thanks for letting me know, Smash City's been a bit on a rough streak when it comes to stuff," Kenshin replied. "I'll see what I can do for you all."

"Thank you," The R.O.B. said before giving a bow and putting its hands together.

"Now then…" Kenshin got up and walked out of the storage room. "Just curious but from your tone… how exactly do you treat that R.O.B.?"

"What's that got to do with anything?" The clerk questioned.

"It has plenty to do with things," Kenshin crossed his arms, giving a bored look. "You can say nothing, but the minute I find a pattern with the others you and anyone else with a similar streak is not going to like my mood. So I'd suggest answering me, now."

As if on cue a sudden explosion occurred right outside the convenience store. The foundation shook as the clerk ended up falling into a rack of potato chips. Kenshin barely caught himself on one of the shelves before pushing against it, accidentally knocking it down.

"H-Hey careful with that," The Clerk sputtered out.

"Yeah I'll pick it up later, one second, and you aren't off the hook," Kenshin called out as he rushed outside only to be suddenly met with Meijin on the other side of the street, a torn apart car in the street between them, various cars having come to a halt. Most were trying to get out of the area as Meijin was also backed up by various Primids with weapons.

"Hello there Kamen Rider Smash," Meijin said as he held his hands behind his back. "I'm glad you've accepted my sudden invitation."

"Hard to really decline," Kenshin replied. "Admittedly you've got me curious now. You usually just send the grunts to deal with things."

"Considering the reports on your latest power acquisition I've come to test that acquisition," Meijin answered. "After all we haven't had a proper fight just yet."

"So I finally caught your attention… well unfortunately I'm not about to go all out on small fry," Kenshin said mostly referring to the Primids. He drew out his Token Driver before locking it to his waist. "So we're going to need to clear the dance floor."

"I do hope that you can do it in a timely manner though," Meijin snapped his fingers as the Primids began to charge forward.

"Right, well let's do this," Kenshin took out his Link and Ganondorf Smash Tokens, slotting them in and initiating the transformation. "Henshin!"

[KAMEN RIDER SMASH: CALAMITY HERO!]

Kenshin wasted no time in combining his swords together, holding the large bladed weapon with only one hand as he walked forward. With one swing he dispatched a couple of Primid's that tried closing in, switching to his other hand he swung in the opposite direction, slicing through another couple of Primid's.

Kenshin swung downwards this time, slicing through one that tried to go for a frontal assault. He then spun around and swung outwards, managing to slice through a few more that tried to jump at him. The remaining Primid's all began to charge at him at once, foregoing the need for trying to strategize by going in a few at a time. They figured their numbers could beat his form out, but they were sorely mistaken.

Gathering Link's power the blade began to shine a bright white, Kenshin gripping it with both hands and releasing a wide arcing wave of light. The light sliced through all the Primid's causing them to burn up with ease.

"I hate being cocky but I do recall some of my memories in that berserk state," Kenshin called to his enemy. "And I remember you not being able to handle this form."

"Sad to say but that's your own conceit and overconfidence shining through," Meijin said as he removed his arms from behind his back and showed off his new gauntlets. "Now then…" He drew out Bowser's Smash Token.

"That Token…!" Kenshin called out.

[SMASH TOKEN CONFIRMED]

Meijin had slotted the Token into the free slot on his gauntlets, the gauntlets lining up with a bright orange coloration as flames began to escape them.

[STRIKING FORMATION]

"Show me what you've got, Kamen Rider Smash!" Meijin yelled out as he began to run forward.

"You're going to regret saying that!" Kenshin yelled out as he gripped his sword with both hands, rushing forward.

The two gave a yell, Meijin jumping up and punching down with his left fist while Kenshin spun and swung his sword with both hands, light energy gathering as both attacks collided in a brilliant display of fire and light.

"Okay well I think that's everything," Junmei said as she walked through the streets with two filled to the brim paper bags. "At least I hope it is. I don't think I can carry much more…"

It wasn't long before she heard an explosion in the distance, the call out attack from Meijin having managed to catch her attention all the way from where she was. Despite holding quite a few supplies the female Rider began to rush off towards where she assumed the explosion originated from.

[SMASH TOKEN CONFIRMED]

[SLASHING FORMATION]

Suddenly a blade of purple light slammed into the ground in front of her, forcing her to come to an abrupt halt. Junmei gave a gasp as she managed to keep balance alongside keeping hold of the supplies.

"Sorry but I can't have you doing that." Suddenly Sayomi jumped down and landed near the blade of light, brandishing her own sword as she gave a smirk. "I do believe this is our second proper meeting."

"You…" Junmei flashed back to her first encounter with that woman, and how she was easily tossed around. "Clearly something is up if you don't want me heading over to what that explosion was."

"More like I feel like testing you once more… see if you can give me a better display than previously," Sayomi taunted as she kept her sword in a ready stance.

"Well if that's the case… let me do something first." Junmei soon found a good corner and tucked the bags away before drawing out her Token Driver and locking it to her waist. "Now then…" She purposely took out Samus and Dark Samus' Tokens before slotting them in.

"Just what are you doing…?" Sayomi wondered why Junmei wasn't going with her signature form.

"Henshin!"

[KAMEN RIDER ECHO: PHAZON HUNTRESS!]

"Scared to face me up close?" The Subspace Commander taunted with a wry smile.

"More like going all out from the start," Junmei called out as she initiated Dark Samus' power, the suit being filled with phazon energy as her arm cannons began to activate. "Phazon Burst!"

"I'll just strike you before you have a chance to shoot!" Sayomi rushed forward, aiming her sword in a thrusting manner as she closed in.

"Gotcha," Junmei grinned as she activated her boosters, launching forward just as Sayomi closed in and aiming her beam cannon forward before releasing a beam of energy once the two were in close proximity.

"What…!" Sayomi wasn't expecting such a gutsy move from Junmei, already thrusting forward when the beam was shot towards the tip of her blade. She tried to pierce through the beam of energy, but because of the sudden release of energy it was more unstable. The resulting pierce attack had caused an explosion between the two that sent each of them flying backwards.

Junmei gasped out as she used her boosters to correct herself in mid-air, landing as she took aim and began firing at where she assumed Sayomi would land.

Sayomi herself gritted her teeth as she flipped in mid-air, managing to land only to narrow her eyes as she had to hop backwards. She just barely made it in time as two phazon powered missiles ended up tearing up the spot where she landed.

"Now then… let's see if this works," Junmei trailed as she kept Phazon Burst active and began charging up energy in her beam cannon. She firmed up her stance before unleashing a beam of energy straight towards Sayomi.

"Let's try this again," Saymoi hissed out as she reeled her arm back, her sword gathering purple energy around it in a spiraling fashion. The energy soon formed into a drill as she lunged forward, the drill striking against the beam of energy as she began to push forward through it. It wasn't long before she put more energy into the drill before unleashing it all at once, disrupting and tearing apart the beam of energy.

Junmei winced as she was forced back by the sudden burst of energy; while she was faring better than prior she was still just only breaking even with Sayomi. And she had a feeling that Sayomi was also holding back and only utilizing a few of her abilities. Deciding to change up strategies she dismissed Phazon Burst and swapped out her Tokens.

"Let's go for this now," Junmei spoke calmly as she initiated her form change.

[KAMEN RIDER ECHO: HOLY PROTECTOR!]

To say Byleth and Eiji were surprised was an understatement; the two were shocked at the sheer destruction that occurred the further they went in. While Eiji was concerned by how badly beaten the Mii's had been, Byleth pressed on until they got to the central room of the control center. Of course there was now a giant gaping hole in it as everyone was thrown about.

Eiji though noticed there was a Mii researcher who was still stirring, quickly going over, "Hey, you alright? What happened?"

"M-Malice…" The Researcher managed to sputter out. "Powerful psychic abilities… blocking our transmissions… causing havoc… overloaded all communications throughout the region…"

"Psychic huh…" Byleth went over, stopping when she heard the sounds of fighting outside. "It seems they've yet to get far into the region."

"Mewtwo came to stop it… but I'm not sure what happened after that," The researcher admitted before suddenly passing out.

"Not good," Eiji gave a sigh as he stood up. "So how about we go out and see what we're dealing with?"

"It's the only option we really have," Byleth replied. "Let's wait to engage as long as possible. See what we're dealing with."

"Sounds good to me," Eiji said readying his Assist Buckle.

"Let's get going," Byleth drew her sword before leading the way out of the hole, being careful to not trip on any debris.

Eiji followed after her but eventually stopped when she did due to the sight before them. One of the more renowned Pokemon fighters, Greninja, was currently jumping around and dodging various attacks. The attacks were coming from an Abomasnow, Bewear, Blastoise and Gogoat, all with a murderous intent behind them. Leading them from the sky was a blackened creature with a purple glow around it, the glow obscuring most of its features.

Abomasnow and Bewear were both trying to slam their fists into Greninja who easily duped them with a substitute doll before appearing behind them and kicking them in the back of their heads. It then shot into the air to avoid several high pressurized rounds of water via Blastoise.

Greninja soon landed gathering a water shuriken in its hands before launching it upwards towards the creature, a sudden Shadow Ball forming before striking against and destroying the shuriken. Greninja narrowed its eyes before they widened, suddenly getting struck in the back by the Gogoat which had charged at its blind spot while it was busy.

"Okay I've never seen any of these guys and I can tell that's not normal," Eiji said as he squinted, getting a better look. "Yeah no, those eyes…"

"You're right," Byleth agreed.

Eiji had ended up noticing that the eyes of each Pokemon had a more glossed over look while shining the same coloration as the mysterious figure.

Greninja had tumbled across the ground from the rear end attack before flipping and managing to skid to a stop. It began to charge up another shuriken of water while the creature immediately brought out another Shadow Ball to strike at it. Greninja however dropped the charge and held its hands together, the shadow ball striking against it in an explosive display.

A small squeak could be heard as yet another substitute doll dropped out of the smoke. Greninja was now high in the air, finishing the charge on its Water Shuriken before unleashing it. The Shuriken flew straight at the creature who simply held up a hand, a purple barrier clashing against it before suddenly wrapping around it. The creature then unleashed the psychic enhanced Shuriken straight back at Greninja.

The ninja Pokemon's eyes widened as it let out a yell, getting struck and thrown to the ground. It tumbled a bit before landing near Byleth and Eiji, heavily injured from the counter attack.

"No one can stand in PsyCollider's way," The creature spoke, a feminine voice coming out as she held up her hand, unleashing a small burst of wind that blew away the energy covering her.

This revealed her true form as a black bipedal, humanoid creature with some feline features. Its skin seemed like it was made out of crystal, holding a long purple glowing tail that was thick to start but thinned out into a small point. The top of its head held two spiraled purple colored and pointed horns. Its face simply being a Y shaped crack that held a white shine. The chest was fairly defined, holding purple spiked crystal armor covering it and running on its shoulders. Its hands and feet were interesting, having pointed tips with only three digits each. Various purple tubes ran from the spine to the back of its head. The Malice before them was a near recreation of Mewtwo but with a dark color scheme and a more crystalline appearance.

"That is definitely Mewtwo's power twisted and corrupted… seems they were smart in picking their Malice this time," Byleth mused.

"And just who are you two supposed to be?" PsyCollider questioned as she held up an arm, causing the four Pokemon she commanded to turn towards them.

"We're here to stop you, as simple as that," Byleth said as she kept her sword at the ready.

"If you want a name in particular… Kamen Rider Assister, Henshin!" Eiji called out as he took out his Token and locked it into place.

[READY FOR ASSIST: KAMEN RIDER ASSISTER!]

Eiji held a firm stance as his transformation kicked in, the trophy case appearing around him before shattering and revealing him in his Rider form. Without wasting a beat he took out his Assist Buster and aimed, sending a blast at PsyCollider.

PsyCollider simply held out her hand, a purple barrier forming as the blast impacted against it before the attack itself dissipated. "Such a foolish attempt…"

"We'll need to do something about that barrier," Eiji mentioned.

"You'll need to be faster than the Malice," Byleth suggested as she stepped around Greninja to get in front of him, not wanting him caught between both groups. "You've been reading up right?"

"Shadow's speed and Chaos Control abilities should do me well," Eiji gave a nod as he did the same and got in front of the ninja Pokemon. "The issue is making sure I get close enough."

"Leave that to me," Byleth said as she began to move forward. "I'll help in distracting them, you get close enough."

"Can you handle all of them?" Eiji asked.

"Have faith in me as your instructor, I've gotten you this far haven't I?" Byleth asked. "I can at least distract half; use a diversion before going for that Assist Time."

"Enough talk, perish you fools!" PsyCollider held out her hand to command the Pokemon under her control.

As if on cue the Blastoise began making its way forward before sending its Hydro Pump blasts towards the two. Both of them dodged to the side, Eiji making his way around to get to the Malice while Byleth made a straight beeline for Blastoise.

The turtle Pokemon was forced to focus on her and aimed once more, sending another Hydro Pump her way. Byleth jumped up and whipped her sword out, lashing downwards only for Gogoat to suddenly come in ram into it to deflect it.

Byleth winced as she was forced to fall, quickly retracting her sword as she held it defensively; a high pressurized blast of water struck against her sword and forced her to the ground.

Eiji meanwhile smirked as their diversion tactic had worked. Now he only had to deal with the Abomasnow and Bewear, loading his personal Token into the Assist Buster.

[SMASH TOKEN CONFIRMED: READY FOR BUSTER!]

Eiji quickly aimed at the center of both the Abomasnow and Bewear that were standing between him and his real opponent. He didn't wait long for it to charge, not wanting to get forced back mid-run by the recoil.

[ASSISTER: BUSTER BLAST!]

He released a small blast of energy from his weapon, the energy colliding with the center of the wall of Pokemon that stood before him. The blast was explosive enough to cause some smoke and dust to rise and Eiji began to cycle through to find Shadow.

What he didn't expect was the Bewear to suddenly rush out towards him, raising its fist and slamming it against the ground. The ground suddenly cracked and crumbled beneath Eiji, being torn apart as he was sent flying back.

Eiji winced as he slammed against his back, groaning out and trying to sit up before eyes widened. The Abomasnow had also managed to stay standing, rushing forward while gathering a blizzard in its fist to prepare for an ice punch.

"Eiji you need to move!" Byleth called out ready to go towards him when she was suddenly forced to brace with her sword against the Gogoat that tried to ram her this time. "Seriously…"

Blastoise began to charge up for another Hydro Pump, planning on taking down Byleth now that she was in one spot. However a suddenly fiery red blur shot forward, grabbing the Gogoat by the horn and dragging it before slamming it into the Blastoise, sending both to the ground.

Byleth stared in surprise as she caught a glimpse of the blur as it stopped briefly. Though it wasted no time into speeding forward straight to where Eiji was.

Just as the Abomasnow lunged and began to close in on the unrecovered Rider, the blur suddenly skidded to a stop grabbing the ice punch with a fiery hand that instantly cancelled it out. Standing before Eiji was the grey, red and black striped feline wrestler Pokemon, Incineroar.

Incineroar gave a grin as he easily held back Abomasnow. "Heh, you know what they say, the star always comes late!"

Eiji stared at his savior, mostly at a loss for words at what was before him. "Eh…?"

Kenshin gave a yell as he slashed downwards, slamming his sword into the ground as he had just barely missed Meijin who had just dodged away. Kenshin quickly followed up with an overhead swing that Meijin dodged against before going for a lower swing. This time Meijin blocked with his right gauntlet covered arm, before unleashing a fireball with the palm of his left hand.

Kenshin winced as he staggered back slightly; quickly tilting his body to the side as he barely dodged another fireball. He did not like one bit that a single fireball had managed to stagger him, especially since this was his heaviest and most tank-like form.

Meijin began gathering fire in his palms as he began tossing fireball after fireball towards Kenshin.

The Rider began bracing against the fireballs with his sword, gathering light energy in it to act as a barrier. Kenshin then yelled out as he slammed his sword into the ground, creating cracks moving towards the subspace commander. Suddenly chains of light erupted from underneath Meijin, ensnaring and shackling him in place.

"It's over!" Kenshin called out as he ran forward, gathering dark energy in his fist as he jumped forward, planning on landing and punching at the same time.

"N-Not likely my friend," Meijin called out as he managed to break his right arm out of the chains, performing a counter punch against Kenshin. Both combatants slammed their fists into each other's chest and unleashed their elemental power. With an explosive burst of fire and dark energy the two were thrown backwards.

Kenshin rolled to a stop before getting on one knee, "Looks like we're even."

"Oh my dear Rider you wish we were," Meijin laughed as he picked himself up with ease. "You still haven't shown me what I wanted. And that is annoying me greatly." He then snapped his fingers.

Suddenly a Big Primid landed near Kenshin, slamming his fist at him, the Rider blocking and skidding backwards from it. Kenshin began to back up only to wince as he was suddenly kicked and sent tumbling forward. Another Big Primid that had landed nearby was the assailant.

Kenshin just barely got to both his feet as he held out both hands, blocking against punches from both Big Primid's with the palms of his hands.

"I won't rest until you show me that new power," Meijin said as he pressed down on the Token in his gauntlet.

[STRIKING FORMATION FINISH]

Meijin shot towards Kenshin's back, his left gauntlet unleashing dozens of flames as they wrapped around it. He gave a yell as he skidded to a stop, punching and slamming his fiery fist into the Rider's back. With another yell he released all the flames, sparks flying from Kenshin's back as he was flung into a nearby building.

Meijin snapped his fingers, three more Big Primids jumping into view as the five Big Primids began closing in on Kenshin.

The Rider gave a wince as he did a double take at his situation, "EH?!" He yelled out as all five began to reach down to grab at him. Realizing he had no choice he drew out his Smash Trinity Token, activating it before slotting it in the center of his Driver. He quickly pressed down on it to unfold it fully before initiating the transformation.

[LINK! MARIO! PIKACHU!]

Pillars of flame, electricity and light formed in front of Kenshin, blocking the Big Primid's and damaging them. The pillars faded to reveal Link, Mario and Pikachu apparitions, the figures turning into glowing energy that wrapped around him.

[KAMEN RIDER SMASH! THREE UNIFIED INTO ONE: NINTEN-TRINITY!]

In a burst of green, red and yellow energy, Kenshin took his triple combination upgrade form, holding out his hand and immediately summoning the Tri-Saber. He then took out and slotted in Pikachu's Token into the weapon. The flames of the sword lit up in a yellow coloration, the outer edges and horizontal line breaks doing the same.

[TRI RUSH: VOLT TACKLE!]

Kenshin gave a yell as he reeled his arm back before slashing forward, the horizontal breaks in the blade suddenly separating and elongating it into a whip, electrical energy flowing through it. The electrified whip blade lashed out, being slammed into the five Big Primids at once. It sliced and electrocuted its way through them as it cut them all in half.

"Not much of a tackle… but this is pretty good," Kenshin remarked as he retracted his whip, returning it to its sword state as he kept the Token in.

"There we go, there we go!" Meijin called out as he began to clap. "That is the power I've been looking for!"

"Well you got it, but you've made a big mistake when I say you'll regret making me go all out," Kenshin gave a light growl as he got in a ready stance.

"Let's see just how well that bark can be backed up," Meijin said as he ran towards the Rider. He began gathering fire in the palm of his left hand. Spreading his hand out he began to form a large fireball he planned to slam the Rider with.

Kenshin however gave a stance as if he was ready to lunge forward, but instead of waiting for Meijin to come, he took the initiative. Thrusting forward his sword entered the whip formation once more but this time extended greatly as electricity coursed through it.

Meijin's eyes widened as he thrust forward, the tip of the electrified sword meeting and piercing through his fireball before striking at his palm. The fireball destabilized just as the electricity was unleashed, releasing a massive explosion of both elements.

The Subspace commander gritted his teeth as he forced himself not to yell out, skidding backwards as his suit was torn, tattered and slightly charred from the explosive force. Thankfully his gauntlets held up and he was at least glad that Dr. Wily's work was top notch in that regard.

"I should expect nothing less than from someone who holds our Master's power," Meijin admitted as he flexed his fingers. "The fact that you've grown strong enough to create your own Token is proof enough that he made the right choice in selecting you and your sister as his first hosts."

"Yeah, yeah, I've already heard the story," Kenshin said as he rested his sword on his shoulder, walking forward though slow enough to keep his distance. "If you think trying to talk to me about Tabuu is going to psyche me out then think again. I've accepted that I'm going to use these powers to stop you all and help this world. That's all there is to it."

"I figured you would, but do you even know why you were chosen?" Meijin asked. "I know why I was chosen… I was alone, I wanted more… I had the chance to be something greater, to tear away my past of holding nothing and gain the power I deserved."

"And I'm supposed to sympathize with a power hungry guy?" Kenshin asked.

"I suppose I do come off like that… granted I come from a genuine background of having nothing and barely living day by day…" Meijin admitted. "Unlike you and your sister who were forced oh so perfectly into that situation…"

Kenshin's heart skipped a beat when he heard this, stopping as he winced, grasping at his head as he could hear voices.

"Those poor kids…"

"I can't believe that explosion happened like that…"

"Just who's going to take care of them now?"

"To think their parents held such dangerous jobs, they didn't consider what might happen."

"Weren't they just researchers though?"

Kenshin began to pant as he glanced at Meijin. He recalled what his sister had mentioned about their parents. The two's parents were researchers that studied more broad and heavier sci-fi related projects. Of course it was never clear what they were researching as the center they were stationed at had an unexpected explosion occur. No one had ended up surviving, and all research was lost as a result with some people's bodies never being found.

The Rider's eyes began to widen when he realized the trigger word for those memories, 'forced'. He stared at Meijin before he changed the Tri-Blade into its whip formation, swinging it at the Subspace commander. "What the hell do you know about my parent's death?!"

"And we come out swinging!" Meijin declared as he gathered fire in his left gauntlet before using it to smack the whip away. "I must admit I didn't expect to get this reaction out of you…" He said as he lit his other gauntlet on fire and smacked the whip away again when Kenshin tried to lash out at him a second time. "I suppose their death is a bit of a touchy subject."

"Stop dodging the question!" Kenshin yelled out as he threw his weapon to the side, initiating his finisher as he jumped into the air.

[TRIUNE FINISH]

"Sorry but I don't plan on giving any closure, it's not what I'm here to do," Meijin said as he gathered fire in both hands, forming a fireball that he launched out at Kenshin.

Spectral versions of Link, Mario and Pikachu formed around Kenshin as he kicked out, the trio overlapping with his body as his kicking leg was filled with the three elements they held. The Rider's kick slammed against the fireball, yelling out before piercing through it.

To Kenshin's surprise a Big Primid had suddenly appeared and gotten in the way, but despite this, Ninen-Trinity's power easily tore through it.

[NINTEN-TRINITY K.O.!]

Kenshin landed on his knee as the Big Primid exploded in a great elemental display. The Rider quickly turned, looking around for Meijin only to notice that he had fled. He gripped his fists tightly before yelling out, falling to his knees and slamming his fist into the ground.

Junmei winced as she braced against a slash, her last remaining axe getting embedded into a nearby building wall. She then jumped back to dodge against a lunge from Sayomi who was trying to keep up the pressure.

"I must admit you are interesting," Sayomi admitted as she began to relax in her attacks. "To be able to take Phazon like nothing, and then the fact that this form radiates such a disgusting amount of light… this was how you handled the corrupt Smash."

"Yeah people keep telling me that but never specify really," Junmei called out as she spun forward, releasing her forearms chains and lashing out at Sayomi.

Sayomi was forced to defend a with a few blocks before parrying the last attack, rushing in once she saw Junmei take a step back from the parry. Junmei however retracted her chains as fast as she could while wrapping them around her arms.

Her chain gauntlets lit up in white flames as she braced and blocked against the incoming slash from Sayomi with her left arm. She then punched forward, unleashing the white fire outwards. Sayomi's eyes widened as she quickly held her hand out at the flames, energy forming before being released. An explosion of white fire occurred as Junmei staggered out from it.

Sayomi shot backwards and stumbled a bit but managed to keep her footing. Despite this her clothes were slightly singed and burnt from the flames.

"This radiant power…" Sayomi narrowed her eyes.

"If you want an answer I'm afraid I can't give you one, unless my memory is faulty and I really did have Tabuu possessing me at some point," Junmei got in a readied stance, waiting to see her opponent's next move.

"Oh you wish you were blessed by our Master's power," Sayomi hissed out as she gave a glare. "No… your power is nothing like the kind I possess."

"Then let's see how it stacks up," Junmei released her chain gauntlets before throwing her left one forward, managing to hook onto Sayomi's blade. She then began to pull on the chain to try and drag Sayomi towards her.

"Oh that's cute," Sayomi smirked as she grabbed onto the chain, a faint blue apparition appearing over her body as she gained stylized butterfly wings. With great strength she pulled and managed to force Junmei off her feet. "Get over here!" She yelled out as she grabbed and pulled Junmei towards her.

Junmei couldn't help but chuckle as she released threw her right chain to the side, managing to hook something before reeling it back. As she got closer to Sayomi she grabbed onto what she had hooked, one of her tossed axes.

"Why you cheeky…" Sayomi's eyes widened when she realized what she had done.

Jumei gave a yell as she raised her arm, having been flung towards Sayomi she had the momentum for a powerful strike while also charging light energy in her axe. With one more yell she swung downwards, releasing a powerful burst of light that blinded anyone in the area.

When the light faded, Junmei was now back on the ground standing up, gritting her teeth as she pushed forward. To her surprise something had stopped her axe, but it wasn't until the smoke cleared that she saw what had. To further her surprise alongside Sayomi's, it was Meijin who was just managing to hold back the weapon.

"I must admit despite your brother getting stronger you are no slouch in the strength department," Meijin admitted before gritting his teeth and pushing forward, managing to force Junmei to take a few steps back. "But we're done here."

"I suppose we are if you're back," Sayomi said before noticing her partner's damaged clothes. "Especially given how you look."

"Fighting Smash was… an interesting experience," Meijin admitted before snapping his fingers, a Subspace Portal appearing behind him as he turned to step through.

"Well I suppose we're both lucky he decided to intervene," Sayomi admitted before heading through as well, the portal closing once both were through.

Junmei began to breathe a bit heavier for a bit before falling to her knees and letting her weapon drop, "Jeez…" She sighed. "Holy Protector is strong but I'm only just able to break even with her…"

"You've been pretty silent," Incineroar remarked to Eiji as he was currently grappling with Bewear, having already pounded Abomasnow into the ground in an instant. "Are my charming good looks too much?"

"N-No… it's just I assumed well… from what Byleth told me that only a few Pokemon actually speak," Eiji admitted.

"Oh yeah, a bit weird but I asked Mewtwo and a few of the other Legendaries and Mythical's for a favor," Incineroar admitted casually before slamming his head into Bewear's snout, managing to get the behemoth of a Pokemon to flinch. He then jumped before drop kicking the Bewear and forcing it to stagger. "If I'm going to put on a show then I need to be heard in full!"

"I… I suppose that does make sense," Eiji admitted before noticing Byleth had rushed over to him. "Sorry about that, wasn't expecting the big teddy bear to be so rough."

"We'll just have to be careful against our actual opponent," Byleth said as she began to help him up.

"Now here's the big one!" Incineroar howled out as he leapt upward, engulfing himself in flames. He then shot downwards diagonally; he then slammed into Bewear while performing a Cross Chop with his arms. The Bewear had been just managed to recover from its stagger only to get struck by the next attack, falling to the ground in a daze.

"He's seriously strong…" Eiji said in surprise.

"And he's part Dark Type… meaning we now have an advantage," Byleth noted, recalling Mewtwo's varying weaknesses as a Psychic Type and applying them to PsyCollider.

"An interesting development, but easily dealt with," PsyCollider called out before holding out its hand towards Incineroar. "You will make a fine opponent for them."

Incineroar however turned towards PsyCollider and gave a grin, "You saying something FakeTwo? Is it time for you to stop being a coward and to fight the mighty Incineroar?!"

"Wait …what?" PsyCollider was now confused at how nothing had occurred. The Pokemon it had come across previously had fallen under her control. The only one she didn't have submit was Greninja due to wanting to test out her powers in controlling a group of Pokemon.

"You don't get it do you?" Byleth remarked as she walked over to Incineroar. "He's part Dark Type, and as such is immune to your Psychic abilities. Even if that wasn't the case, you wouldn't have been able to control him, or even Greninja for that matter. Both of them are hardened fighters and can easily overpower someone like you through sheer willpower alone."

"I'm not sure I get it," Eiji admitted as he walked over to the two before readying his weapon. "But what I'm hearing is we've got another teammate to kick this Fake Mewtwo's ass."

"Heh, I like the kid Byleth," Incineroar remarked. "Where'd you find him?"

"Long story, but the most important part is we need help defeating that Malice," Byleth said as she pointed towards PsyCollider.

"Huh, so that is a Malice then huh? Heard the News but I've never gotten to see one up close," Incineroar remarked before cracking his knuckles. "So how about we give this trespasser a good old Kanto warm welcome."

"Sounds good to me," Eiji called out as he took aim at PsyCollider.

"If you three think you can defeat me you are sorely mistaken," PsyCollider hissed out as she gathered dark energy in her hands, summoning two Shadow Balls that she began to fill with energy. "I may not be able to take control of Incineroar but my power still surpasses that of Mewtwo's. So I will teach you what happens when you cross me."

To Be Continued…

Samus: In a war like this, one has to take both wins and losses in stride. This is especially true when both can amount to being either important or a waste of time.

Author Notes: Not too much to really say on this chapter, it just being a down time chapter just to spend more time with the characters and also was the start to setting up plot points.

But well I suppose this is the end, at least for the foreseeable future. I've still yet to be really motivated in writing for this story again but I'll give it a few more months. As of right now I'm focusing all my efforts into Roze from Remnant. But thanks for reading up till this point. If do end up choosing to fully drop this story then you don't need to worry, I'm not leaving it on this note. I still have my plans and ideas all written out that I'll flesh out and post to give some actual sense of closure. But until then, I'll be seeing you guys.
