HOW FAR I'LL GO
A teenage Azula and Ty Lee sit at the pier in Caldera gazing out at the dark but peaceful water.
"Do you ever want to run away? Just sail out to the horizon or whatever and become a pirate?"
Azula scoffs. "Why a pirate?"
"No rules," explained Ty Lee in a sweet, soft tone. "Like no rules and lots of fancy stuff you get for free."
"Hm." Azula ponders it for a moment. Her mind slips into a fleeting daydream about being a pirate captain on the high seas with a groveling crew and Ty Lee as her daring but demure bride. She shakes it away. That sort of thing is so foul that it does not even belong in her thoughts; princesses do not dream about running away. "My life is better than that. I have no rules but to rule, and countless beautiful things."
Ty Lee smiles and stares out at the sea.
