INTRODUCTIONS

It has been years since they have seen each other. They did not want to see each other, not in person, although they have never been able to shake each other from inside their minds.

Here they are, face to face, after four years trying to forget each other.

"Hey," says Ty Lee softly, heart racing, cheeks flushed.

It is like introducing themselves for the first time.

Perhaps not even because it had been so long, but because they are both such different people now.

"Pleasure to see you again." Azula is cold, crisp, formal, making it clear that their relationship is as dead as their days fighting the war. "Was your trip to the Fire Nation pleasant?"

"You look beautiful," blurts out Ty Lee without thinking."

"Well, anything is an improvement on a straitjacket. I ought to leave. Perhaps we will see each other around." Azula pivots to coldly leave.

Ty Lee acts on impulse. She knows it is stupid and reckless and could get her a bolt of lightning to the chest but she does it anyway.

She grabs Azula by the wrist.

Azula's hand moves to slap her but the adoring look in Ty Lee's eyes stops her mid-motion.

Ty Lee kisses Azula.

Azula kisses her back.

They crush their lips together again and again and again and again.

And when they finally break apart, gasping for breath, they have no regrets.
