Description: This is a post Joey/Pacey break-up fic. It is based five years after they parted ways that fateful night at prom. Two characters Ezra and Andrew are mine. Sort of a crossover fic though it's A/U and -A doesn't existed. I borrowed Ezra from Pretty little Liars, Emily might make an appearance. Not sure yet, if she does it will be as Pacey's ex.
Disclaimer: I own nothing except the original storyline and Andrew, he's of my own imagination.
Author's Note: Review and I will happily update often.
Unexpected Run-ins:
Chapter#10
(Ezra's pov)
" What do you think Pacey and Joey are doing right now?", ponders Andrew as we make our way up the steps to our apartment. Why is he asking me? How should I know what those two are doing? Obviously they needed sometime alone to sort out their differences. After breakfast, I purposely went grocery shopping so Andrew and I would be out of their hair for as long as possible. With hopes maybe those two are a little closer to getting back together. It's no secret Pacey wants to be with Joey. Does she feel the same though? When we left this morning it didn't seem as though she wanted to stay behind with him.
" How would I know Andrew?", I mutter with a roll of my eyes. One thing I do know, if Andrew were smart he would lay off hitting on Joey. Pacey does not look like he would hesitate to kick the crap out of him. Sure Andrew might only be joking around when he makes a pass on Joey, but I'm not all that sure Pacey cares. She is his girl and he's not about to let Andrew sweet talk her. Though, I'm not certain that he could even if he tried. Joey doesn't strike me as the type of girl to fall for any of Andrew's lines.
" Should we even bother telling Pacey that we ran into Emily at the store?", pries Andrew with an arched eyebrow as we walk inside. Is he being serious right now? Why the hell would we do that? For Christ sake Pacey is attempting to reconcile things with Joey. Why would he care that we ran into Emily. To say their breakup was messy would be the understatement of the year. Pacey slept with another woman while he was dating her. The last thing I want is to bring up Emily around Joey. All that would do is cause a fight between him and Joey.
" Whose Emily?", mumbles a half asleep Joey before peeking up at Pacey. The look on his face is one of agitation. Thank God I'm not Andrew right now. Pacey is about two seconds away from kicking the crap out of him. If he were to, got to say I would let him. Andrew is such a moron. Why, why would he even bring up Emily? Is he trying to pick an argument between these two? If Andrew doesn't keep his damn mouth shut, he just might. I have to help Pacey defuse this conversation and quick.
Not sure how to answer and not wanting to lie, Pacey decides it's best to just tell the truth," Emily is the girl I was seeing at the time when we slept together last Christmas Jo. Our breakup was a nightmare. We hadn't spoken since, until I ran into her a few weeks ago. We'd been in the midst of trying to sort things out...until you had come along."
Rubbing at her eyes, Joey sits up in Pacey's arms," Do you want to be with her Pace?"
" Not now that I know that there's a chance of the two of us rekindling things.", answers Pacey before bringing his lips to Joey's. She has yet to push him away; this has to be a good sign. It's easy to tell he meant every word he said. Pacey doesn't want anyone else. One look at Joey and I'm not all that sure that I blame the guy. This girl is a knock out to say the least. I'm slightly jealous of him currently. How the hell did Pacey ever manage to land a beauty like Joey? Of all the girls, he had to lay claim on her? I'm like half in love with her but I can't do anything about it.
" Then it doesn't even matter Pacey, I honestly don't want to fight with you about her.", relents Joey much to Pacey's relief. Looks like he dodged a bullet that much is for sure, Andrew can consider himself lucky I guess. If he would have caused an argument something tells me Pacey would have killed him. Picking up his cell phone when it rings, Joey arches an eyebrow after looking at the call screen. Showing Pacey his phone, she folds her arms across her chest. Oh no, oh crap. Do not tell me Emily's calling his phone. This can't possibly end well.
" Joey, I swear that I don't even want to talk with her.", exclaims Pacey before taking his phone and tossing it aside. This doesn't succeed in smoothing things over with Joey. She wastes no time moving as far away from him as possible. Man, I really feel for the guy. Much as I might despise him, I know Pacey wants nothing more than to be with Joey. He wants to be with her about as much as Emily wants to be with him.
(Andrew's pov)
" Wow, you could cut the tension in here with a knife.", I observe with a shake of my head and a laugh. Taking a cautious step back when the three of them turn to glare at me, I throw my hands up in surrender. Geez, can nobody take a joke these days? All I was trying to do was lighten up the mood. Joey has to know that Emily means absolutely nothing to Pacey. She's the one he wants more than anything. How could Joey not see this? Emily could call Pacey all she wants, it's not going to make a difference. Hell, if I were him I'd choose Joey too. The girl is all kinds of fine. Emily doesn't even hold a candle to her beauty.
Standing up when there's a knock on the door, Joey wastes no time going to answer it,"...I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you're Emily?"
Shaking her head in bewilderment, Emily rests a hand on her hip," And you are?"
" Leaving. Have a nice day, I'll see you around Witter.", states Joey in cold manner before stepping past Emily to leave. Oh shit this can't be good. If Pacey doesn't act quick Joey's going to walk out of his life forever. That's the last thing he wants to happen. Got to say I was not expecting Emily to pop by. What is she even doing here? When Ezra and I ran into her at the store an hour or so ago, she'd asked why Pacey hadn't been answering her calls or texts. We weren't about to blow his cover so we just lied and said we had no clue. Why would she pick right now of all times to just randomly stop by?
" Joey...please.", apologizes Pacey in a panic before jumping from his seat. Wow, I am so glad that I'm not him right now. Joey's already long gone. She wasted no time hightailing it out of here. Can't say that I blame her, she probably feels more than a little betrayed by Pacey. Up until last night he has in the process of settling things with Emily. Then Joey comes along and all the sudden Emily was all but forgotten. Joey has to be confused and hurting right now. I don't want to see the poor girl take off upset. Especially not when she's got nowhere else to go, maybe I should do something.
" Pacey, talk with Emily. Don't worry, I'll go after Joey.", I reassure with a sympathetic pat to his back. Giving Emily a quick nod, I take off after Joey. Running halfway down the street, I grasp hold of her hand softly. Wasting no time, Joey whirls around and clocks me in the jaw. Letting out a yelp in pain, I stumble back a few steps. Holy crap did that hurt like hell. Pacey owes me big time. Quickly realizing her mistake, Joey rushes to console me.
" Andrew, I didn't mean to...I'm sorry.", apologizes Joey before rushing to my side. Holding my jaw in pain, I wince when she gingerly places a hand to my face. Damn can that girl pack a punch. That was something I did not expect. Holy hell is my jaw killing me right now. Joey might not have meant to hit me, but I guess it's probably a good thing I'm not Pacey. Something tells me that if I were she would still be pummeling my face in. I'm never going to get on Joey's bad side that much is for sure. What am I supposed to say to convince her to come back with me? Joey doesn't want to see Pacey right now. …
