Author's Note:

Hi! I know it has been a long time since I updated any chapter. Unfortunately, updates are going to be slow and unpredictable. I haven't been doing great emotionally due to my new job, student loans, toxic family, and more. Another reason it was hard to write this chapter was for the passing of Chadwick Boseman especially since I still have more chapters with TChalla.

Anyways, I noticed that I've been using Swahili instead of Xhosa used in the Black Panther movie, but I'm lazy and I grew to like the words. I've been thinking of removing all Author Note chapters to have a continuous flow of the story. I hope you enjoy the chapter and until later!

Emily's P.O.V.

I felt like I was walking in a strange land right now. As I walked with mama mdogo to her fitting rooms, I felt, for the first time, like an outsider in Wakanda. Mama Mdogo kept chatting with me, catching up on what we've missed these past years, but my mind was still back in New York with Tony. Just thinking about him, the kids began kicking with anticipation to see their father. "My dear, I keep chatting; but your mind is far beyond the spirit world," She laughed.

"Sorry, mama mdogo," I smiled, "These past few months have been very stressful."

"Ah, yes. I've seen the news of your child's father. I must say when your uncle and T'Challa saw you on the news with the Avengers, they were ready to bring you back home." Ramonda smiled tenderly. I pictured T'Challa being the big brother that he was ready to threaten Tony at first glance. Mama Mdogo grabbed a royal purple dress for the coronation. "T'Chaka and your father always saw you wear this dress T'Challa's coronation; I am glad I will see you wear like they always dreamed."

My eyes swelled with tears just picturing all the lost family members present today. Mjomba seeing T'Challa become king and Mama and Papa seeing as I grew into my powers. "Mama Mdogo, I love it," I choked.

"We must make a few alterations. We were not counting on these unexpected guests," She jokingly replied as she caressed my stomach. As she said that, many attendants rushed to prepare me for the ceremony. It took several hours as they modified and dressed me looking similar to Mama Mdogo. The difference between our dresses was that mine was royal purple like the High Shaman's but with gold accents representing my link to the royal family. "Beautiful! Now for the final touch," Mama Mdogo took out a small necklace similar to the one the Black Panther uses.

"Mama Mdogo, this is..." She instantly interrupted.

"This was going to be your present on that horrible year," She explained as clasped on the necklace. "The council was not too happy when they learned T'Chaka was giving you this. They believed it was like accepting an outsider into the royal family. But, we both knew you became family the day a little girl arrived here practicing her magic."

I earnestly hugged Ramonda, finally having confirmation that I still had a small family with me. "I can't cry now, or I will ruin all the hard work attendants have done for the ceremony," I joked. "I think it's time to join all the other tribes."

Several incredible Barges transport congregations from Four Wakandan Tribe Elders and their tribal warriors in traditional garb, others in modern Wakandan attire, the Dora Milage, and Kingsguard with spears and shields downriver. Okoye stood with her second in command, Ayo flanked, by a legion of Kingsguard and Dora. Everyone present began to dance in preparation for T'Challas's arrival. The Dora slammed their spears in unison, sonically triggering the massive drains at the top of the waterfall.

The Royal Talon Fighter flies up to the pool's edge. T'Challa steps off the aircraft, holding a short spear and shield and covered in leopard body paint. The crowd chants. I watch from the sitting area as Zuri began the ceremony. When the High Shaman began calling out for a challenger, T'Challa glanced in my direction to wink teasingly. My thoughts were interrupted once Shuri spoke. "This corset is really uncomfortable. So could we all just wrap it up and go home?" She yelled. Before Mama Mdogo called her out, I pinched her. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only interruption the ceremony had.

I move my attention towards where the sudden chanting came from to see the Jabari appear with their leader. No one liked their abrupt interruption, especially Zuri. "M'Baku. What are you doing here?!"

"It's challenge day," He replied to Zuri. Then he addressed the rest of the Wakandans. "We have watched and listened from the mountains. We have watched with disgust as your technological advancements have been overseen by a child who scoffs at tradition. How you have welcomed an outsider and colonizer to our lands! M'Baku points his spear at both of us, Shuri's eyes grew wide, but all I did was glare.

"You should stop this foolishness before it's too late, M'Baku," I snarled lowly.

He ignored me in favor of his rant. "And now... you want to hand the nation over to this prince who could not even keep his own father safe. Hmm? We will not have it. I said we will not have it! I, M'Baku, leader of the Jabari, wish to-"

"I accept your challenge, M'Baku," T'Challa interrupted. Once those words were spoken, I could see M'Baku's cocky grin believing he would overpower T'Challa.

Zuri called for the challenge to begin. In all the commotion, I began to feel pain from my lower abdomen. Neither mama mdogo nor Shuri noticed, and quite frankly, I was too worried for T'Challa to care about it.

[1] The warriors clash with great skill. M'Baku with superior strength. T'Challa eludes a salvo of swings, then is driven back by the tip of M'Baku's spear against his shield.

Knocking M'Baku's spear free, T'Challa is hammered onto his back but instantly springs up to dodge more attacks and counter with two fierce kicks. M'Baku spits blood and bangs his chest. The rest of the Jabari warriors respond. M'Baku charges at T'Challa, knuckle-walking and slipping his assault. T'Challa grabs M'Baku's spear and cartwheels over it to land another kick. The two continue to battle, blocking and blunt strikes until M'Baku delivers a backhand that knocks T'Challa off his feet near the Dora's spears.

With the deadly spears at his back, T'Challa blocks overhead blows with his shield, then M'Baku leans with all his strength trying to impale T'Challa on the tips.

Clubbing M'Baku to his heels, T'Challa rushes forward for an aerial attack only to be met by a kick to the chest, causing him to lose both his shield and spear. Following this, T'Challa dodges spear-swipes before M'Baku corrals him into a bear hug and delivers a crushing headbutt. M'Baku taunts my cousin with each crushing headbutt causing him to face us.

"Show him who you are!" With mama mdogo yell of support, T'Challa finds strength. He shakes off the headbutt, stunning M'Baku with a savage blow to free himself. M'Baku retaliates, stabbing T'Challa's shoulder with his spear. T'Challa wedges M'Baku's spear under his foot and pulls M'Baku to the pool, flipping his body into a series of leg chokes. M'Bak tries his best to free himself but can't.

I smile at T'Challa's clear victory and how M'Baku was knocked down a peg or two. I could hear T'Challa screaming for the challenger to yield, not wanting to take his life. It took three times for T'Challa to finally release him. Immediately, Zuri claimed T'Challa as a victor. Once sundown passed, Zuri and his people, T'challa, and I went to the ritual room to give the new king the power of the black panther.

Zuri and I wore ceremonial face paint; as we mixed the Heart-Shaped Herb and pours it into T'Challa's mouth as he lies in a dirt plot in the middle of the room. "T'Chaka, we call on you. Come here to your son," Zuri said after T'Challa finished drinking the herb. The rest of the people began burring him under the red sand as we chanted. "Damaku."

We both stared at the buried body as the pain I ignored increased. After several minutes, I saw some faint movement and called for Zuri's attention. The High Shaman pulled T'Challa out of the sand. "Breathe, T'Challa. Breathe!"

I look at T'Challa, amazed with how his wounds were completely healed. "He was there! He was there. My father," He replied as he looked back at me.

I smile back as a reply. "I know, T'Challa, and I know he's very proud of the king you'll become."

Once he rose from the sand, he gave me one of his old bear hugs. I moan in pain, unable to hold it anymore. "What's wrong," he asked.

I shook my head. " I don't know," I cried, "Something's not right." Once again, I felt excruciating pain in my stomach, followed by what I wanted to believe was water. I doubled down in pain once more.

T'Challa looks down to see a small puddle under my feet. "Hold on, Ăˆmile. Zuri, call for my mother and medics," He replied as he carried me bridal style and ran to the nearest available bedroom. He laid me comfortably on the bed and stood by my side for comfort. "Hold on, help is coming."

I shook my head in disbelief. This wasn't the plan; I still had another week left for the c-section. Tony was supposed to be with me; he's supposed to carry the babies for the first time. "It's too early, T'challa," I cried as another contraction hit.

He held my hand as he gently pushed my hair off my face. "Mother always said children tend to decide they are ready to brace the world," He chuckled. "These little ones just wanted to see the new king."

I pouted as tears fell down my cheeks. "Tony was supposed to be here," I sobbed. "He can't miss this; he already missed everything else. I don't want to rob him this moment too."

T'Challa gave me another warm smile. "How about I call him? It will not be the same, but he will see them," He grunted the moment I squeezed his hand.

"Don't worry, brother, I have her phone," I heard Shuri said as she entered the room with mama mdogo with a group of people.

"T'Challa, please wait outside," Mama Mdogo said.

"Mama-" She interrupted me, not wanting to hear me argue.

"The nurses must tend to you and only you," She said. "He needs to bathe before meeting the little ones." She looked at T'challa, leaving no room to argue with her. He nodded and pressed a kiss on my forehead before leaving. Suri held my hand with each contraction that felt. Hours passed by, even T'Challa came back, but nothing really changed.

Hour and minutes passed, and not only was the labor taking forever, but Tony wasn't answering our calls. My face was covered with sweat, and my anger and pain kept growing. "Why the fuck isn't he answering," I yelled with the hit of a new contraction.

Suri laughed a little, "He is probably listening to music that is so loud he can't hear it."

I shook my head, "FRIDAY would have cut off the music; something happened." I did some breathing exercises before remembering Happy. "Call Happy; he's always with him most of the time."

T'Challa nodded and called to see him answer instantly. "Yes, Emilly?"

"Where the fuck is Tony," I yelled.

The line went quiet, "I- I... Um, he said the kid got into some trouble, and he was fixing some mess he made." I could hear him gulp on the other side of the line, "Tony should be back in a few minutes, is something wrong over there?"

"YES! I'm in labor, and he won't answer his goddamned phone!" I heard more stammering until he replied that Tony was back. I look for T'Challa to switch the phone call to a video call. Once I saw Tony on the screen, all I saw was worry. "Why the hell didn't you answer my call!"

"Sorry, Bright-Eyes, but the kid made a mess of things; I had to hold all my calls."

I groaned once another contraction hit. "You should be here," I sobbed.

"Sorry, Bright-Eyes, but the kid made a mess of things; I had to hold all my calls."

I groaned once another contraction hit. "You should be here," I sobbed.

"I know Ems, I know," He replied. "I could play your birthing playlist in the background if you want."

I glared at the phone and snarled, "If you start playing AC/DC right now, I will kill you." I looked back at T'Challa and begged him to allow Tony to enter Wakanda as the contractions were closer each minute. He looked conflicted but unfortunately denied my request.

"We can not allow outsiders in Wakanda," He said as I squeezed his hand.

"Hey, hey, hey Ems," Tony interrupted, "I know this wasn't part of our recent plans, but I'm here. I'll see our babies being born."

Shuri was wiping my tears and sweat when I noticed the grim look on the midwife's face. "My king, something is wrong."

"What's wrong with my babies," I yelled.

"We must take her to a sterile room; we must do a C-section," She replied. My breath hitched once I heard those words, then everything turned black.

Authors Note #2

[1]: After this point most of the scenes come from the Black Panther script.

I also want to thank ArtemisLuna85 for pointing out that I doubled the story in the chapter. In all honesty i was originally fixing the doc manager coding glitch and ended up pasting the story twice since it didn't appear when i was trying to fix it. So, thank you again for that

Until Next Time ;)
