King of the Loch
Chapter 1: Returning to the Loch
Everyone was gathered around the Louds, Morag was defeated. The population of the Loch was celebrating Lincoln, hero of Loch Loud. Until Angus and Lincoln were standing face to face with the young Loud proposing to Angus the crown of Duke. Which Angus refused, stating that Lincoln should be the Duke.
"Lincoln?" called Angus, but the whithe haired boy wasn't here anymore, he was thinking of Royal Woods, of what it meant to return there. The song Ordinary me came back in his mind like a slap in the face. Here he was a hero, in Royal Woods he was just the brother of the Loud Sisters. Here he was the Duke, only the brother of the Loud Sister in Royal Woods. No matter what he does, he would always be outshined by his sisters, but not in Loch Loud. Smiling as wide as he could, he looked around him. All those people, shouting his name. That's when he finally heard Angus. "Yes," he said quietly. "Do you accept to be our Duke?" asked Angus with a smile coming back as Lincoln repeated a confident "Yes".
"Wait, you're not coming with us ?" Asked Lola. Lincoln faced his family, his hands in his hips, he confirmed what Lola implied. He was staying here. "They need me and I need is my purpose."
His family looked puzzled by that. But they didn't have time to object as Angus placed the crown back on Lincoln's head. Then a woman with red hair and a black man took him up and they walked back into the town. The Loud family looked at each other, before Leni talked. "Lincoln's right, he likes, totes deserve to stay here. He's happy here. I won't deny him this happiness, I love him too much for that." Bobby arrived at the same moment, "Yeah, let little bro be himself, find his own way." he said nonchalantly. As the Loud clan looked at him with big eyes, he pointed a finger toward his face, "Wait, what are we talking about?" Lori took in her arms. "It doesn't matter you are right Boo-boo-bear, you and Leni both." she cried in his arms. "But I'll miss him. So much." Then the whole family started to tear up. It finally happened, Lincoln is where he belongs and no one wanted to shatter his little heart.
Lucy looked down, her brother beat her to it. But she needed to try. "Dear family, I have an announcement to make." All eyes were on her. Lucy found herself nervous, gathering her courage, she spoke up, "I wish to stay at Loch Loud too." There wasn't any sound, the family just looked at her, until Lori had a soft smile, "You're not the only one that wants to be with Lincoln you know?" Lucy didn't back out, "Our brother just spoke before me. This land is all I dreamt about, I can't see myself return to Royal Woods and leave a land full of magic behind." Rita thought a minute then spoke. "Sweaty, this should be what makes Lincoln special, and Lincoln alone. PLus you're still a little girl." she explained. "I'll stay with her!" Shouted Leni. "Plus, I don't want to leave Scott." she added. "Oh come on!" Shouted Lola. She was tired already.
"It's okay," said Lincoln, walking toward them. "I'll take care of them, now go. And be safe!" he said, before running back and hugging his parents. "I love you guys so much." His parents returned the hug with his other sisters joining, even Bobby. "We love you too," they said. So only Leni, Lucy and Lincoln were staying, the Duke and his sisters, somehow back in the Loch.
Later that afternoon, as the evening was setting a magnificent painting of orange in the sky. Lincoln was sitting alone, facing the sea. Hopping that his family is safe. But just like everyone after a one time decision, Lincoln was filling down. It's not that this wasn't what he wanted, more like he wished his family would return, staying here with him. Leni, who was walking here with Scott stopped, watching her brother. "I'll need a moment Scott." The boy nodded, kissing the girl on the cheek. She silently took place next to Lincoln, taking him in her arms. "Everything would be alright, Linky."
Somewhere else, Lucy was walking deeper in the castle's dungeon. She found - with the help of Lucille- a secret door that led to this secret set of stairs, going in the belly of the land. Opening a simple wood door, she found herself in a little room with nothing in it. "Sigh, there's nothing here." complained the gothic girl. Lucille laughed a little to that, "Place your hand in here."
There was a scorch mark forming a three-headed dragon breathing fire with the central head. The other one looked up and the last one down. Touching it, the wall began to move. A cave, illuminated by blue fire mimicking the sun's light, appeared. Lucy gasped loudly, without saying the word. Four massive armors were standing -at around 28 feet- in an opened coffin made of rocks and metal. Each had their hands resting in a weapon. The far one on the left, was grey, having a shield with a celtic cross forged on, resting on his chest. His hands were resting on a spear. The weapon was forged to have a long curved blade on his tip. Next to it was a faded red one. It had a strange staff attached to his waist. His hands were resting on a red handled sword. The blade was smooth, with runes graved in the edges of it. The third one was silver, almost blue. It had two swords on his back and a piece of armor as protection on his left shoulder. His hands, like the other two, were resting on a longsword with guard shaped as a V with celtic tribal mark on the guard. The last one was also grey. He had a succession of metal plates forming his stomach, with a huge piece on his chest. His shoulders had bulky round protections. His forearms had bulky protection too. His hands were resting on a long sword with the blade looking damaged. "The four Guardian Knights of the Loch. To the left and right,Talis," Lucille pointed to the green one, "Stormreign," she pointed the red one, "Dragonicus," she pointed the bluish one, "And Steelbane." Lucile then found herself staring at Steelbane. All their helmets were different. Dragonicus' helmet was inspired by those of the french knights, the mouth guard was closed and flat on his 'face'. Talis had almost the same base for his helmet as Dragonicus, minus the mouth guard that had breathing holes. Plus, he had an iron mesh protecting his neck and where his ears would be. Stormreing had what could be best described as a templar inspired helmet. Lucy was in awe in front of the knights. Lucille approached Steelbane. Sighing, she touched the hand of the giant. As Lucy's eyes danced around the knights, something caught her eyes. Steelbane's helmet was like a modern version of a paladin helmet, with two yellow eyes shining in it for a brief moment.
For weeks after that Lucy would spend more and more time in this secret cave. Studying the Knights, writing poems about them and listening to Lucille. And with Leni spending so much time with Scott Lincoln found himself alone in the castle. At first, it didn't bother him that much, since he was very busy himself. But not for very long. If 3 years were not too long. Lincoln was finally able to breathe. After a light breakfast, he jumped into his trademark casual orange shirt and jeans. Walking around the castle, Lincoln's mind began to wonder. He thought about his family back at Royal Woods, is his Pop-Pop and Gran-Gran proud of him? Or disappointed? There was then this huge feeling of sadness that invaded his mind. He missed them. Taking a huge breath in, he was surprised to smell flowers. Opening his eyes he found himself in the garden, where the Dragon Cave was. He decided to go exploring it.
Leni woke up late, once again far from the castle. She had spent another night at Scott's place. Getting rid of the remaining sleep in her body, she became aware of her nake state. And all came back to her. Scott and her had done it once again, slowly, had filled her with his love as he said so last night. Leni was still wondering why he called this white goo thingy love as Lori had explained to her that it was 'sperm'. And to not have it in her loving hole or she could be… " Pregnant!" she shouted in a whisper, her hands on her head. For months that she was here, she had rushed in a full commitment with a guy that she didn't really know, letting him get his way with her body like this. What would Lori say if she learned that Leni had unprotected sex for so long, with a stranger? Leni panicked, she needed Linky. After a quick shower, she got dressed in her seafoam dress, and only grabbed her sunglasses. She ran barefoot through the town. Tears were already falling from her eyes as she arrived at the castle, seeing Lincoln entering the Cave. She called for him, but he didn't answer. Worst of all, he started to run in the Cave. Leni followed him.
Unknown to them, Lucy was already here. She was standing next to a Guardian Knight. This one could be compared to Dragonicus, but he had a shattered celtic cross on his chest, he was placed in front of a painted wall, almost guarding it. His hands were resting on halberd two round shaped blades. There was another one near Lincoln. This one had his helmet broken, with a skeleton face visible, he had two swords. Unlike the other one, he was sitting on the floor, dead.
Lucy was looking at a giant painting of a representation of Fenrir charging with a woman on his back. This woman had long blonde hair and was painted with a white colour that supposed she had pale skin. She had a pair of demonic wings too. Behind her, a dragon with three heads was flying while breathing fire. Charging alongside the blonde girl and Fenrir, was a giantess with white skin and hair, wearing blue tribal tattoos. She had a sword and a round shield with a tribal painting of the three-headed dragon on it. Lincoln saw a giant woman with wings that were tattered. An army of what Lincoln decided was dark knights were alongside the blonde woman too. It was more like a demonic army. They were led by a giant red haired woman viking who appeared to have fur on her armor and red war paint on her face. Next to her, there was a bulky giantess with blue skin and white hair. The blue giantess had fur covering her being. She had a spear in her hand. There was another one, with black hair that had blue war paint that seemed to brandish a war axe. Finally, standing behind the wolf was another giantess with antlers on the top of her head, resting like demonic horns.
Facing the army of Hell, was a king on a white wolf. The king had snow hair. Behind him, six knights like the one standing next to Lucy. It was the Guardian Knights, which Lincoln didn't know yet. There was a dragon, like Lela in the 'sky', a woman with tanned skin and long black hair riding it. Vikings and knights were charging alongside the Guardian Knights. Between the two armies, was a golden bracelet. It was made to look like a snake biting its own tail.
"It is said that the artefact had the power to corrupt the soul of anyone before burning it. There is only one soul every century that would be born to wield it. A girl who's black hair would hide the Sun's blessing. It would be the only time the night will have the Sun's light stroking her body." explained Lucy. "What a wonderful story, did you like it Brother?"
Lincoln walked toward Lucy. Her black hair was tied in a ponytail, not covering her eyes anymore. Everyone in the family knew that her eyes were blue. It was now shining a deep purple. "I can feel it, Lincoln. Fate is calling my name through that bracelet." Lucy came closer to her brother. "The artefact is mine, brother. And someone unworthy is wearing it." Lucy laughed a little. Leni giggled too. "Yeah, like, I bet it's ugly. What a shame." The gothic girl looked at her dizzy sister. "Oh but it is a shame. This soul will shatter a friendship before being burned for eternity."
Lincoln had enough. "What do you want, Lucy?"
Lucy smiled. Lincoln was even shocked to hear her laughing. Then she suddenly stopped, "The throne of a burned and silent kingdom." She declared with an icy voice. "Lucy, you're scaring me." said Leni innocently, while Lucy walked slowly towards her. "I have learned to love hearing you all say that." she confessed as she walked toward her dizzy sister. Flames invaded the place, creating a blaze. Demonic wings appeared in Lucy's back who smiled as she was still approaching Leni. She was now a predator, which caused the platinum blonde to shake like a leaf. "Lin-Lincoln, what's happening?" she asked as tears took control of her eyes.
But the Duke was feeling useless.
True, this had a strong smell of Destiny, one of the heroes. But the gates of this path were made of a nightmare. A nightmare that was his little sister. Tears fell down and Lincoln couldn't move still. The eyes of Lucy were shining and looking directly at him.
And he felt it.
It was a rush, a call. Letting a pure war cry, Lincoln made his move. He took a broken sword from the ground and charged at Lucy. Lucy began to run too, giggling like a creepy little girl. This moment set their future in stone. One filled with War, Tears and Death. "Run Brother! Run and raise that sword, be the hero…"
And Leni let it go. A simple, horrible screech. Lincoln joined her. Lucy roared in response. The sword fell and blood was spilled. Leni's eyes got so wide… Lucy had a smile so large… And Lincoln gasped. Leni fell in her own blood. Lincoln's sword was in Lucy's left thigh. And Lucy's fingers had so much blood on it.
Lincoln let his sword go and rushed to Leni's side. He was whispering a river of "no" as he gently took her head in his head.
Lucy laughed, "Heroes die Brother. One way or another, they always do."
"Lincoln, Lincoln, Lincoln. Lis-" Leni coughed blood, "Lincoln, listen to me, my sweet baby." She put a weak hand on his cheek. "Thanks to you, I had my moment of love with Scott, my moment to be happy." Lincoln was now crying as he said, " No please Leni, stay here, by my side. I can't lose you." Leny smiled at him. "Lincoln, you're not losing me. I'll stay forever in your heart. I'll… I'll be watching you, waiting for you… But take your time and enjoy life. You're…my he-heroe Linky. I love… I love you…" she finished in a whisper. Lincoln let out a cry of agony and rage. He let Leni's head gently fall down, stood up and charged once again.
"What do you think…" Lucy couldn't finish as she was violently tackled by her brother. "You talk too much." and he punched her face. She tried to defend herself by throwing a fist but he caught it easily. "I trained with Lynn, remember?" and he punched her once again, but this time she answered with an awkward headbutt followed by another fist that collided with Lincoln's jaw. "Me too." She tried to slap him, but Lincoln was scratched instead. Touching his cheek, he felt his blood flow between his fingers. Lucy woke him up from his state by kicking him in the guts. Falling on the ground, his left arm fell on the sword. He took it once again. As he stood up once more, he took a good look at Lucy, she was as tall as him with a slender body. At some point her hair was set loose, now resting around her head like two waterfalls made of the blackest shining night. Her wings were wide open, at full display. Her hands were terminated by claws, still bloody from her murder. "You want to join her don't you dear brother." Lincoln didn't respond, he charged instead. Without a sound. He let loose all of his pain, his rage. But he felt something as he finally let his love for his fallen sister go. The sword regenerated itself, it was a simple beautiful northern long sword. The guard had celtic tribal decorations on it with a celtic cross in the center. Lucy let herself be taken by surprise as she was mesmerised by the sword. And she felt the blade burning her core as it penetrated her belly. "Go to hell." growled Lincoln. "I'll reign over it." and Lucy disappeared in a burst of flame.
Lincoln let out a heavy sigh. "What have you done Lucy?" he asked, closing the eyes of Leni.
Lucy appeared behind him. "What had to be done." and she took him by the throat as she flew through the land. "Farewell Brother, I'll take care of Leni's funeral." And she let her brother fall in the sea.
"All hail the Queen."
