Chapter 24

Robin didn't know what to do. The five of them were stood still, unsure of their next move. Raven disappeared for a second before reappearing fully dressed. Beast Boy and Flash looked instantly more awake. Robin tried to get his brain to work, tried to think of some kind of plan, but found he was having absolutely no luck with it. He turned to Cyborg in a panic, but Cyborg looked as panicked as Robin felt. Robin took a deep breath and steadied himself. "Alright, we need to find out where she is. Let's go to Ops and see if we can find her heat signature."

Robin turned and set off towards Ops, but was stopped as a noise behind him reached his ears. He turned slowly. As he turned he saw the rest of them turning to look at where the noise came from. He held in a breath as he saw the light on the elevator light up as it reached their floor. He stepped forward, moving between Flash and Beast Boy as the door opened.

Starfire stepped out from the open doors, and they closed gently behind her. She was mask and glove free this time, just in an all black outfit, a small S on her chest. Her eyes looked between the five of them, weighing them up. Robin swallowed, his heartbeat creeping higher as he stared at her. His hand twitched, wanting to do something, but unsure what. Robin could feel the tension, his team waiting for something to happen. Waiting for him to decide what to do.

"Titans." His hand twitched again as Starfire responded to his voice by igniting her hands, her eyes taking on that all familiar glow. She didn't move. Robin inched his hand closer to his belt, now or never. "Split!" He shouted as he threw a smoke bomb at Starfire. It exploded in front of her, filling the hallway. Her green glow broke through the haze as she stepped forward. Her eyes narrowed as she emerged through the smoke into an empty hallway.

Flash had zipped away into the bathroom. He could hear Starfire's footsteps as she stalked down the hall. He looked out the door across the hall to where Cyborg was hiding just within Robin's bedroom door. Cyborg nodded at him, and moved back a little, further out of sight. Flash moved, taking up position in full view of the door. He readied himself, one foot back, one hand on the floor. He listened as her steps got louder. Three... two... one...

As Starfire's form stepped in front of the doorway, Flash set off. He ran at her, grabbing her around the waist, and they tumbled into Robin's room. She managed to pull herself from Flash's grip and landed on her feet with a small skid. Flash stopped a few feet from her. Cyborg, from his place next to the door, fired a shot at her from his sonic cannon. Starfire met the blast with one of her own. The sheer power of her starbolt was far greater than Cyborg's cannon, and it powered through his blue beam, hitting his cannon head on. The residual power behind the blast sent Cyborg back and through the wall. He hit the opposite wall with a thud.

Flash turned to see if Cyborg was okay. Seeing Cyborg sitting up and shaking his hand off, Flash turned back. Looking away had been his mistake. When he turned back, Starfire was right in front of him. He went to move, but Starfire grabbed his wrist pulling him towards her. With her other hand she clipped something small around his wrist, and promptly let go of him. He took the chance and went to run but found, in utter shock, that he couldn't. He looked at the device on his wrist, obviously an inhibitor. In a panic he turned to run out of the door, while trying to pry the inhibitor off and tripping over his feet as he went.

Cyborg was no longer in the hallway, but that wasn't Flash's concern at that moment. He pulled his communicator from his belt, and was about to call when it was shot from his hand. He yelped as it burnt through his glove, his communicator shattered. He didn't look back, he just ran. He reached the end of the hallway and as he turned left, Starfire slammed her shoulder into his ribs, knocking him into the elevator door. He left a dent as he slid down to the floor clutching his side.

Flash opened his eyes to see Starfire standing over him, the glow in her eyes strong. He kicked out, but she jumped over his legs and bent down, grabbing him by the throat and lifting him to his feet. He struggled against her, grabbing her arm with both hands. He felt a sharp sting in his leg and hissed as he tried to see what she had done. Starfire dropped him and he fell to the ground spluttering. Searching his leg, he noticed the needle protruding from it as he saw his vision begin to blur. He yanked the needle from his leg and threw it, but felt his arm go limp as he did. Flash took one final look at Starfire standing over him as his vision went black and he closed his eyes.

Cyborg had hid in the bathroom while Flash dealt with Starfire. He dared to peak out the door and saw Starfire following Flash down the corridor. He took the opportunity to move to his own room. Inside he used his computer to locate the other Titans, maybe he could make his way to Robin. He looked down at his arm, he was unable to change his hand from his sonic cannon due to the damage the starbolt has done. He typed one handed to find the others, their locators coming up on the map. He noticed that Flash's was inactive. Not a good sign.

Seeing where Robin was, Cyborg took a deep breath. He armed himself with a portable cannon from his desk, and braced himself to step out of the room. Pressing the door panel, it slid open in front of him and he popped his head out to look both ways down the corridor. Empty. Holding his cannon up in front of him, he set off towards the stairwell. He had no warning as he felt a hand on his shoulder, spinning him. Starfire grabbed the cannon with one hand, and his good arm with the other.

Cyborg fired the cannon as she wrenched it from his grip. She gracefully twisted away from the shot as she threw the cannon. Her other hand tightened on Cyborg's forearm, crushing his console. The light faded as the glass cracked. Cyborg brought his broken cannon arm around in an attempt to get her off of him, but she floated up. Still holding his wrist she moved fast, floating up and pulling his arm over his own shoulder. His back hit the floor with a thud and Starfire was stood above his head. She stepped back as Cyborg rolled over onto his front and got to his feet.

"Come on, Star." He stepped back a few steps as she stood staring at him. "You don't really want to do this." He stepped back further as his eye darted to the floor and then back at her, finding his target. He reached for the portable canon, as fast as he could. As his hand grabbed it, he stood back upright, but Starfire was ahead of him. She had sprinted towards him before dropping and skidding along the floor. Her leg kicked out and knocked the cannon out of his hand, and into her own. She skated along the floor and under him, through his legs. Cyborg didn't have time to register that she'd got the cannon before he was hit in the back. He landed on his front as Starfire stood behind him, her arms outstretched with the cannon pointing in front of her.

Dropping her arms, Starfire looked down at Cyborg, his circuits were sparking at his back. She stepped over him and bent down to look at his face. His human eye was closed, and she moved his head to the side to see his robot eye was dark. She dropped the cannon next to him, and turned to go down the corridor in the direction Cyborg had been heading. A beeping from beside her stopped her movement. Cyborg's computer was creating the noise. She moved into the room and looked over the screen.

Beast Boy and Raven had found themselves in the same place. The basement. They'd run down the steps together before Raven stopped him and looked for a place for them to hide. She grabbed his hand and floated them both up to the rafters. Beast Boy looked over to Raven who was sat with her back against a post. "Rae, what do we do now?"

"We need to get her contained. Somehow." Raven looked down into the room, searching for anything that could help them. "Really we should try and regroup, but I don't want to call. It might give away someone's position." She looked over at Beast Boy who was looking anxiously towards the door. She turned her head and spotted the vent next to them, an idea forming in her mind. "Beast Boy." He turned to look at her. "Do you think you could get to the medical bay through this vent?"

"Directions aren't my strong point." He made a face at her.

"Okay, but you can get back up to the higher levels?"

"Yeah I think so."

"Good. I'm going to distract Starfire down here as long as possible. Get back upstairs and see if you can find any of the others." She held her hand out to him, but he paused and shook his head.

"Rae, I'm not gonna leave you to face her by yourself." He put his hand on hers and pushed it down.

"Beast Boy, we need to..." Raven was interrupted as they both heard the door open. They both took a weary glance down to see Starfire descending the stairs slowly. Her footsteps echoing through the room. "Go." Raven whispered and Beast Boy hesitated a moment before nodding at her. He turned into a mouse and jumped onto her hand. Using her powers she opened the vent and placed him inside. She shot him a small smile before replacing the cover. Watching through the gaps she saw him scurry off.

Her face turned grim as she looked back below her. But to her shock, Starfire wasn't there. Raven leaned over a little more to get a wider view of the room. "Damn it." She sat back upright and jumped as she came face to face with Starfire who was floating silently between Raven and the vent. Raven slipped off the beam she was sat on but righted herself in the air. Starfire slowly floated down to match her level. With a sigh, Ravens eyes went white as Starfire's glowed green.

Starfire easily dodged the boxes that Raven had launched at her, before she launched herself at Raven in retaliation. Raven used her power to block the blows that Starfire was throwing her way. Each blow was pushing her back a little. Raven managed, somehow, to grab Starfire's fist in her magic, stopping the next blow. As Starfire stopped, Raven took the opportunity to spread her power over Starfire's form and pushed her down into the floor.

Raven floated down and landed in front of her. Starfire didn't struggle from her position, but Raven felt the push of something against her magic. She struggled to keep the energy going and grunted as she watched Starfire push herself to stand. Raven's eyes widened, never had she known anyone be able to do that. Starfire stood upright, bringing her hands forward. Raven saw a faint green glow peaking through the inky black of hers. It became too much as the green glow got brighter and the struggle got worse. With a cry, Raven was sent back as Starfire exploded in a flash of green.

Landing with a grunt, Raven rubbed her head. Starfire stepped in front of her, her hands glowing. Raven braced herself, but Starfire tilted her head and the glow suddenly stopped. Looking down at Raven, her gaze moved over the Raven's arm. Raven followed her gaze and looked at her own arm. A needle. Starfire must have let it loose in the blast, using it as a distraction. Raven instantly felt dizzy. The last thing she saw before she fell into her side, was Starfire grabbing her wrist, placing something there with a soft click.

Beast Boy climbed through the vents, peaking out of them every so often to see where he was. It took him a while, but he finally reached the medical bay. Raven hadn't told him why she wanted him to come here, but it was as good a place as any. Hopefully, Starfire was still busy with Raven and he would have time to figure something out. He crawled out of the vent and down the wall as a lizard and shifted to himself when he reached the floor.

Raven had obviously wanted him to come here for a reason. But what was it? He quickly but quietly looked through the cupboards. There were shelves upon shelves of medicines, bandages, painkillers... oh! Painkillers! That was it! Beast Boy looked through the cupboard and found an ordinary box of paracetamol. He scrambled to take some of the pills out of the box. Paracetamol and Starfire did not agree. While they would put a human out of their discomfort, they made Starfire drowsy. Normally she would sleep for a couple of hours after taking some. Placing the pills in his pocket, he moved over to the door.

He popped his head up to look through the window of the door, the hallway was clear. But he wasn't going to take any chances. He shifted into a bird and took off back through the vent. He had to find Robin. This floor had the main training room, Robin might be in there. Beast Boy scurried along the vents, taking a wrong turn and getting lost a few times. He knew his way around the tower but the ventilation system was a little different.

When he finally did reach the training room, he peaked through the vent cover, but couldn't see Robin. With a frown, Beast Boy went to turn away, but a noise peaked his interest. Maybe Robin was in there. He turned back to the vent cover and shifted to a lizard again to squeeze through the vent. On the other side, he barely had time to jump as a starbolt hit the wall, only just missing him. He jumped from the wall, and shifted to a hawk, before flying around the room. Starfire was stood in the doorway. How had she known where he was? Unless she had tracked their locators, he didn't have his communicator, but he had a locator in his uniform. He cursed silently at Robin's forward thinking.

He needed to do something and now was as good a time as any. He watched as she stepped into the room, watching him circle above her. In a move he was unsure he could pull off, he dove for her, he shifted into himself as he fished the pills out of his pocket before shifting into a gorilla and landing heavily on her shoulders. She was knocked to the ground and he held her face with one big green hand. With his other hand he tried to pry her mouth open but was having difficulty as he was also holding the pills.

In their struggle, Beast Boy felt his hand getting hot quite rapidly, and fell back with a yelp as her eye beam burnt him. He shifted to himself and scrambled back as she got to her feet, shaking his burnt hand. He tried to scramble to his feet away from her, but she grabbed his ankle and dragged him back, twisting him to face her. She grabbed his wrist, and the hand that was clasped around the pills opened as she wrenched his fingers back. He dropped the pills into the floor. Kicking them aside she lifted him to her eye level and walked back with him until she was holding him against the wall.

Beast Boy panicked and shifted, the bigger the better, right? He shifted to a T-Rex and whipped his tail around to try and knock her down. But she grabbed his tail, and held tight. Beast Boy tried and failed to shake her off before he shifted into a bee. He buzzed around, darting back and forth as quick as possible as Starfire let loose a few star bolts at him and then stopped as they missed him, burning the walls.

Instead of a starbolt, she reached into her pocket and brought out something that Beast Boy couldn't see properly. She visibly calmed herself, drawing in a breath and letting it out slowly. Her eyes alighted on him once again, and she flicked her arm out towards him. One second Beast Boy was flying around, and the next he was pinned to the wall by one of his wings. He buzzed a few times, trying to pull away but found that it hurt considerably. He couldn't turn to see what was trapping him, so he shifted instead. He dropped to the floor as himself, wobbling a bit as his legs felt weak. He realised, with annoyance, that whatever she had hit him with was in his back. Reaching round, he felt for the item and pulled it out before bringing it around to look at it.

His eyes went wide as he realised she had hit wing with a needle. The precision was impressive. Suddenly the one needle in his hand became two, which then became four. He realised, unfortunately that this wasn't going to end well for him. The needle rolled out of his grip, and he fell to one knee as he fought to keep himself awake. He looked up and saw Starfire stepping towards him, something in her hand. He didn't have the energy to protest as she lifted his arm up. Finally his vision glazed over and he fell to the floor, his eyes drifting shut.

Robin had darted off down the stairwell to his office, they were going to need help. He sent a message direct to the Watch Tower, not having the time to sit and have a chat with anyone. He then darted out of the room and headed to the weapon hold. Skidding through the door, he picked up some more smoke bombs, and a handful of birdarangs. He grabbed an extra bo-staff, just in case. He realised he needed to get to Ops, see if he could access the cameras and find where everyone was. Normally, the protocol when the titans split was to stay away from Ops, as it was the first place people would think to look, but Robin needed to check on his team and was aware he couldn't use his communicator.

He sprinted out of the weapons hold and back into the stairwell, deftly hopping up the stairs. He halted his pace as he got to the door, carefully looking out. Robin stepped wearily into the hallway, it was clear to the elevator on the opposite end, except for a bit of debris. He bolted into a run and ducked into the first room he came too, which happened to be Cyborg's. Nothing seemed to be out of place. Robin moved over to the computer, he could track his friends from here before he tried to locate Starfire. To his surprise, the screen was already loaded onto the locator screen. To his horror, it wasn't showing anyone.

Robin cursed and reloaded the screen, it still showed nothing but his own red dot. He didn't know what had gone wrong, but if Starfire had hacked the system she could have messed with the locators. He tried again, just to make sure that it definitely wasn't working, and again it only showed him his own location. Robin took in a deep breath to steady himself. Now was not the time to let his emotions leak over. He would have to use the cameras. Turning from the computer, he popped his head out into the hallway, still empty.

Robin crossed the hallway diagonally and ducked into his own room. Something had happened in here as there was a hole in the wall. He noticed a few of his papers had been strewn around the room. Damn it. He glanced through the door, the wall on the opposite side of the hall had some cracks in it. Someone had clearly gone through the wall and into the next one. He stepped cautiously back into the hallway, and inspected the cracks in the wall. Someone had hit this wall with some force.

He turned to look down the hall and saw something on the floor. He took a few steps and bent down to pick it up. One of Cyborgs handheld cannons. He turned the weapon over in his hand, his brow furrowing. Was this a good or a bad sign? He was unsure, but he didn't feel like it was good. Robin looked back down the corridor, and noticed the sizeable dent in the elevator door. Drifting over to it, he ran his hand over the indent, he didn't know who had made the dent, but whoever had gone into the door had hit it hard. The question that haunted him was, who was winning these fights?

Robin turned to go back towards Ops, but something crunched under his foot. Lifting it, he noticed there was glass on the floor. He dropped down again, placing the cannon by his foot to inspect the mess. He lifted up a thin silver needle that had broken from the glass tube. "What?" He whispered to himself. He was not liking the feeling that was in his stomach.

A noise from the stairwell brought him out of his thoughts and he dropped the needle. Abandoning the cannon, he swept into the room closest to his right. Starfire's room. He held his ear to the door, listening for anything and he could hear slow footsteps coming up the corridor, but stopping every now and then. Whoever it was, was searching each room. Robin darted over to Starfire's window seat, closing the curtains in front of him. If it was one of the Titans, he could just step out. If it was Starfire, he could try and surprise her.

Peaking through the small gap in the curtain, Robin's heart jumped as the door slid open. The light in the hallway caused a silhouette, but he could definitely see it was Starfire. He held back an annoyed sigh as she stepped into the room and flicked on the light. She surveyed the room from the doorway, her eyes running over every detail. He held his breath as she looked directly at him before moving her gaze away. Starfire turned, as if she was going to leave the room, but something stopped her and she turned towards her own vanity. Walking over, she tilted her head as she took in the sight before her. Robin watched with heightened curiosity as she plucked a photo from the vanity and brought it closer. He couldn't see the photo, but it had obviously affected her. Robin took this as his opportunity.

Robin moved out of the side of the curtain and crept behind her as she looked over the photo. He would have to stay out of the view of the mirror. Dropping to the floor, he crawled until he was under her bed, and moved until he could see from underneath the other side. He slipped out from under the bed, staying low, and pulled out a staff from his belt. Crawling a little closer to her, he extended his staff and got himself up to one knee. With a swing, he brought the staff round to the back of her knees and she pitched forward, crashing into the vanity.

Starfire shook herself from her shock, pulling herself from the broken wood. She had a cut on her face from the glass of the mirror, but ignored it. Robin got to his feet with a jump and didn't give her chance to recover properly before he jumped at her, bringing his staff down over his head. Starfire moved fast, and Robin hit the broken remains of the vanity. He recovered fast, swinging the staff round, but Starfire caught it inches away from her face. Robin struggled against her, but she held tight. She yanked the staff, pulling Robin towards her.

As Robin fell forward from the force, Starfire pulled the staff from his grip. She used her free hand to punch him in the gut and as he stumbled backwards, she brought the staff round and caught him across the face with it. Robin felt the pain explode across his cheek and his eye. He hit the door frame and then the floor. Starfire grabbed the staff in both hands, before snapping it and throwing the discarded pieces behind her. Robin got to his feet, his hand coming to cradle his face where he could feel a bruise forming. Dashing into the hallway, Robin took out his other staff, but he only got a few steps down before he was pulled back by his cape. He choked out as it pulled at his throat, and he found himself thrown backward.

His back his the wall with some force and he was winded slightly. Starfire went to grab his shoulder, but Robin brought his staff up and she took hold of that instead. He pushed against her, twisting the staff and pushing her off balance. She faltered as she had to take an extra step to keep from tripping. Robin took the opportunity, bringing the staff back up and hitting her in the neck with it. He had aimed for her head, but she pulled it down as she was still holding it.

Starfire let her grip loose as he hit her and she staggered back a few steps. Robin had no idea how he was going to end this. Where were the Justice League when you needed them? He decided he couldn't give her change to recover. He followed her steps and swung at her, catching her shoulder, and she landed with a thud on her back. Robin stepped towards her again, but she sat up with speed, her eyes glowing. As he swung at her again, she grabbed the staff and wrenched it from his grip. Her hands started glowing, and the staff disintegrated as the starbolt spread over it.

Slowly, she got to her feet. Robin stepped back from her, his hands poised to grab at something, but Starfire was faster. Robin hadn't realised that she was holding back, until he was being held up against a door by his throat. Starfire had flown at him with unimaginable speed, gripping him and slamming him into the door to Ops. She gripped his belt and yanked, pulling it from him and throwing it away. He tried to pull her hand from him, but she was just too strong. Her eyes started to glow dangerously and Robin started to panic.

Without warning she pulled him away from the door before slamming him into it a few times. She threw him into the opposite wall, releasing his throat. Robin took in a gulp of air before he was grabbed again. This time when Starfire held him up, Robin braced his feet on the wall behind and pushed, flipping himself over her and pulling from her grasp, he landed gracefully behind her and twisted, grabbing her wrists and pushing her until she was pinned. Really, he knew it was fruitless. She flew back, trapping him between her and the wall. It was enough to cause him to let go. Starfire twisted, and grabbed his shoulders.

She pulled him round and he staggered so he was facing her. The only warning he had of what was coming was her familiar green glow. She fired an eye beam at him and it hit him square in the chest, taking him off of his feet. He crashed through the door behind him, and into the room beyond it. Hitting the ground hard, he rolled and fell down a few steps before skidding to a stop. Robin let out a groan as he tired to ignore the pain that exploded in his back and chest. He opened his eyes and barely had time to flip out of the way before Starfire landed heavily where he had been laid. Flipping to his feet, he stared at her as she stood upright. But she wasn't looking at him, she was looking behind him.

Robin turned wearily, aware she could attack him at any time. When his eyes caught sight of what she was looking at Robin's breath caught in his throat. Flash, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy all laid on the floor, unconscious. A Slade Bot was stood behind each of them. In the middle of them, sat on the chair to the main computer, sat Slade, his one good eye wide with amusement. Robin didn't know what to say, but felt a little of his fight leave him. Breathing heavily, his arms dropped to his side as he glared at Slade.

Still aware of Starfire behind him, Robin moved to the right a little, so he had sight of both of them. As he moved, Starfire mirrored his action and they ended up opposite each other in front of Slade. She looked at Robin, and then turned to look at Slade, who lifted his hand up at Robin. "Continue. But don't kill him."

Robin barely had time to register what Slade had said before he had a barrage of Starbolts coming his way. He managed to barely evade them with a series of back flips and hand springs. With impressive grace, he flipped onto the breakfast bar, and sliding across the counter top before ducking down behind it. With his back flush against the cupboards, his eyes darted round, looking for anything that could help him. He sighed as he realised kitchen utensils weren't going to be of any real use at this moment. Although... Robin reached into the cupboard in front of him. Cyborg's skillet pan was pretty heavy duty. It would help. Grabbing he handle, Robin poised himself on one knee, and waited.

Starfire had opted to walk around the breakfast bar and was utterly caught off guard as he pushed the handle of the pan into her gut. As she bent, Robin stood and with a grimace of regret, he flipped the pan in his hands so he was holding the handle before swinging it up and catching her under the chin with it. Her head snapped back and she was taken off her feet before hitting the fridge and sliding to the floor. Robin moved back, out of the kitchen, watching her as he went. Starfire stood, ignoring the mark on her chin where he had hit her, and her eyes glowed. With a flick of her hand she shot a starbolt at him. Robin braced but was surprised when he wasn't hit. Looking down at his hands, he realised he now only held the handle of the pan, before dropping it to the floor.

He wasn't overly prepared for her as she landed in front of him, throwing a volley of punches his way. Hand to hand combat wasn't something Starfire did on a regular basis, so he was a little surprised that she was actually really good at it. He managed to block her blows for the most part, a couple catching him purely because she was too fast. He didn't managed to land one single hit on her, and his frustration was growing. She was pushing him back, forcing him to take little steps. He managed to manoeuvre himself so he wasn't trapped between her and the couch, instead she followed him as he moved around it.

And then he tripped. His stumble cost him. As Robin flailed to stop himself from falling she punched him in the gut, and then uppercut his chin. He deserved that he supposed. Her punches probably hurt about as much as that skillet pan had. Robin took a few more punches before his back was flush against the cold glass of the full length window. Starfire stopped and let him stand as straight as he could. He had braced his hands on the glass behind him to help support himself and she stepped up to him slowly. She watched him for a moment and he wondered vaguely what kind of a state he was in. He could feel the bruises forming, and possibly a couple of fractures. He was sweating and breathing heavily.

He didn't really have the energy to dodge her next attack and even then he doubt she would have missed if he had tried. Starfire booted him in the chest and his ears rang as he crashed through the window behind him. Among the glass, he was falling backwards towards the ground. This time his panic really set in. He didn't have a grapple. Or anything that could help him. He squeezed his eyes shut, don't look at the ground. He could feel is cape whipping around him as he registered the cold breeze of the night air.

He felt something grab his wrist a little too tight and cried out as his fall was halted a little too fast and pulled at his shoulder, threatening to pull it from its socket. He was upright now and looked down to see the glass falling away below him. Looking up, he followed his own arm to the delicate hand that held it. Starfire was above him, she'd flown down and grabbed him. It was little relief. He couldn't bring himself to struggle as she flew him up and back through the window he had come out of. She flew him into the middle of the room, placing him on his feet before landing gently behind him.

Two robots that had been previously unseen, came to either side of him as Starfire moved away. Each one grabbed one of his arms, and Robin didn't protest as they pushed him down onto his knees. One of them grabbed his hair, forcing him to look up. Slade was sat staring at him from where he sat and he didn't take his eyes off of Robin as Starfire moved to stand next to him. She patiently waisted, standing so still as she looked upon Robin, as if she hadn't just been fighting, like nothing was wrong. She ignored the cut to her face and the few bruises that were forming. She was waiting for her next instruction.

Slade, still baring down at Robin brought his hands together, and Robin knew he was smiling behind that stupid mask of his. "Well done my dear." His words were obviously for Starfire. She didn't react but Slade swivelled in the chair to look at her. "You've done well."

Robin fought with his own disgust as Starfire registered Slade's words and then bowed to him like he was a king.
