Gosh it's been awhile. By the time I'm done editing this thing it won't be Saturday anymore, but I doubt anyone really cares right? It feels like Saturday to me since I haven't gone to bed yet. BTW I'm a librarian now, neat right? (Has nothing to do with the story...)=^-^=

Ch. 21 - Alter of Fate

When Fiskerton was found running down the cavern halls in a panic it didn't take long before someone took notice and inquired on his situation. Tundra, being the first to ask, quickly dragged the lemurian into the main cavern to inform Frostbite of what had happened. "My lord! The Great One has vanished!" He declared in an urgent tone.

Frostbite spit out his tea over his desk at the sudden news. "What did you say!?" He rose from his seat while abandoning his cup to the floor.

"The Great One has vanished. This one my Lord. He was with the Great One in his room when it happened." Tundra informed as he gestured to the lemurian. Fisk nodded and began his confusing explanation coupled with hand gestures.

"You say you looked away for a moment, and both the Great One and the human boy were gone?" Fiskerton nodded in distress. Frostbite wore a serious expression. "This is a grave matter indeed." He then gestured to his subordinate. "Alert the other humans and bring them here. We must make haste if we are to discern where they have been spirited away to."

"Plasmius? What are you doing here?!" Danny demanded as he readied for a fight.

Zak followed suit and pulled out his claw. "Man, this guy is just as creepy as Argost."

Vlad scoffed at the childish jab. "I would like to direct that question to you Daniel. I doubt you are here by simple chance." He looked up to the mural on the wall and growled in frustration. "Do you even know where you are!?"

"The Ghost King's castle duh!" Danny responded as he lit up a fist, but Plasmius looked even more angry at the answer.

"Foolish child!" He blasted at the teen before he could block. Danny slammed hard into the wall as Plasmius prepared to blast again. "Here, and yet you know nothing!"

"Hey, what's your problem creep!?" Zak cut him off with his Claw raised. "We're not here cause we wanna be!"

Plasmius raised an intrigued brow. "And what is that supposed to mean brat?"

Zak took a step back as Plasmius approached. "We don't know how we got here, we just were." Plasmius narrowed his red eyes before looking back at Danny who was trying to get back up.

The halfa was on one knee before looking at his attacker. "What's got you so pissed off fruit loop?" He asked as he pushed up to get to his feet.

"That would be many things Daniel, and that insufferable nickname is one of them!" He blasted him back again though Danny was able to block partially. He fired back after shaking it off though Plasmius blocked it easily. "How you are able to get in the way of my plans despite your lack of tact or power is another!" After knocking the other boy away he blasted the younger halfa again and the wall cracked from the impact.

"Zak!" He shouted mid-hit before the wind was knocked out of him. Vlad was serious this time.

"Don't under estimate me fruit loop!" Zak swung down his claw though Plasmius grabbed it and pulled Zak off the ground to dangle from it.

"You child... You mentioned being Kur before. What did you mean by that?"

Zak grunted as he tried to kick the older man to free himself. "And why should I tell you anything you creep!?"

Plasmius glared at the boy before letting out a charge of electricity through the weapon.

"Stop it Plasmius!" Danny floated up with his fist glowing in anger at hearing his friend's pain. "If you really want to know he's supposed to be a cryptid reincarnation or something. Now let him go!"

Vlad dropped the boy carelessly to lie unconscious and out of the way. "So he is Kur?" He narrowed his eyes at the boy.

"Yeah you happy now?" Danny asked irritated at how Plasmius was acting.

"Far from it!" He rushed the halfa and dragged him up the wall for good measure. "This time Daniel, I refuse to allow your childish antics and ridiculous sense of right and wrong get in my way! I will-!" He stopped at noticing something odd behind the younger halfa's head.

Danny was pulling at his wrists for freedom as he was pinned by Vlad's superior strength. "What!?"

Vlad was no longer glaring at the defiant teen, however, but at what was depicted above him. "No... No! It can't be!" He pulled the teen away from the wall, and threw him down on the other side of the room.

Zak was now awake again and rolled over to see where the halfa fell. "Man... this guy's not playin around..."

Frostbite unrolled the Infi-Map as soon as he entered the room where the Saturday's and Maddie had gathered. "We should be able to ascertain their location with this as long as they are still within the Ghost Zone." He explained as many different holo-structures appeared.

"What kind of map is this?" Drew asked as she looked at the different locations floating above.

"This is the Infi-map, the only known map of this world."

Doc turned to Maddie. "Isn't this place supposed to be endless? How can you have a map of an infinite space?"

Doyle gave a shrug. "I suppose that's the reason it's called the INFI-map huh?" He rolled his eyes sarcastically much to Doc's annoyance.

"I suppose that would be a difficult question to answer, but now is not the time." Frostbite cut in as the map began to change.

"Lord Frostbite a grave matter has come up." They all turned to see Lady Glacia though she still looked calm despite her claim.

"I know Lady Glacia, the Great One and a young human have vanished." He responded as he went over the map.

She seemed curious a moment before shaking her head. "That is not as important at the moment. The Valley mists have stopped."

Despite Frostbite's initial anger at belittling the Great One's predicament his jaw dropped at what he had been told. "S-stopped?"

"It would seem so." She then stepped aside and a young ghost approached.

He was dressed as a FarFrozen warrior though he was far more humanoid than the woolly ghosts. He only had a few patches of fur around his shoulders and back while his horns were stumps in his stark white locks. He almost looked like a cross between a human and FarFrozen. "My Lord." He respectfully address with a fist to his chest. "I come at the behest of Lady Snow since I was the eldest warrior of the Valley. We do not know the reason but not even an hour ago the Mists suddenly began to clear." He explained with a serious expression.

Frostbite slammed his fists on the counter in frustration. "This timing! A cruel coincidence to say the least..." He lamented.

"What's wrong?" Doc asked.

"If you need to help your people, just lend us the map." Drew interjected in more than a little worry her son was god knows where. "We appreciate everything you've done, but we may not have time to wait."

"I agree, we can't expect you to do everything." Maddie nodded and gestured to the map. "We can find our own children."

"I told you already, that isn't all that important." Lady Glacia reiterated with a cool tone. "You would do well not to work against the powers that be."

"And what exactly is that supposed to mean?" Drew asked trying not to look insulted.

Glacia gave her a sly expression. "It was not you to whom I was referring human. She then gestured to Maddie. "Your son can go nowhere in this world where an ally is not awaiting his call. You have nothing for which to be worried." She then turned to Frostbite. "You on the other hand Lord Frostbite, need to have all measures in place to secure the safety of those in the Valley now that the Mist isn't there to protect them."

Frostbite let out a resigned sigh. "Of course Lady Glacia. You are correct. Let me simply locate the Great One for the Honored Relative so they may be on their way then."

"That is not necessary Lord Frostbite, I can say, with relative confidence, where the Great One is now located." She then pointed at the location floating up high to the right. "You see the map will not tell you because it is not allowed to tell you." Frostbite looked up at the crumbling image of what was once Pariah's Keep. "He is more than likely at the Obsidian Alter, and if that human went missing along with him then he is most likely there as well."

He gave her a rather surprised expression before closing the map before him. "Surely you are not suggesting what I believe you are suggesting my Lady?" He stepped around the table to her.

"You need only to wait and see for yourself my Lord." She responded back with a knowing grin while keeping a cold distance to his approach.

He gave her a critical look as he walked past. "Then I will do as you suggest." He motioned to Tundra who was standing with the humans. "Please escort our guests back to the portal they emerged from. With things as they are now, we cannot guarantee their safety."

"Whoa, hey, we're not leaving yet!" Doyle countered as the FarFrozen approached him.

"You're crazy if you think we're going anywhere without our kids!" Drew turned to look back at Maddie for agreement.

She looked angry though a bit confused at the same time. "So are you now going to do nothing to help?" Maddie asked with a sharp tone.

Frostbite stopped his departure and turned to the human. "At this moment... it is not my place to do so."

"You know, I expected more from you guys. Danny and Ulraj talked you up to being this great civilization." Doyle started as he glared at the woolly leader. "But I guess I shouldn't expect you guys to live up to that hype." He then stomped past him trying hard not to raise a hand to him.

The other Saturday's seemed to agree with the sentiment as they followed. "While I am surprised considering everything I've seen, I understand you have your people to think about. We'll do this on our own." Doc informed as he was the last to pass him. "Come on Maddie, we should get out of their way."

The ghost hunter looked one more time at the large ghost before following them. "You're right Doc, I don't need to rely on a ghost to find my own son."

The lordly FarFrozen said nothing to their cutting comments. He knew very well they were justified to feel that he'd abandoned the Great One. He simply watched them go and Tundra follow. "Thunder Snow, you will need to remain in the village until this matter is concluded. You are not yet a full warrior of the FarFrozen." Glacia ordered as she left the room with Frostbite.

"You have done well young warrior." Frostbite congratulated without turning to him. He still wore a grim expression from all that had happened in such a short time.

Zak struggled to get to his feet after taking that shock from Plasmius, but he didn't want to let him keep attacking Danny. "Don't you think it's lame that you're beating up a kid at your age." He quipped with a wince.

Plasmius paid it no mind as he lifted Danny up by his suit again. "To think it would come to this Daniel... I'd be lying if I didn't say you had this coming."

"Shove it Fruit Loop." Danny choked out as he gripped the elder halfa's wrist. "Stop blaming me for your bad ideas." Danny then released a wave of green energy that effectively forced Vlad back and he fell to his knees. "Damn it..." He wiped a bit of ectoplasm from his mouth before glaring at Vlad.

"Bad ideas you say? What a childish point of view." He chuckled darkly as he held up his palm with crimson energy. "As if you have any room to talk."

Before he could fire, however, Zak launched his claw and yanked back his arm. "Don't ignore me! I'm not gonna let you hurt my friend like that." The preteen announced looking very sure of himself despite his rough state.

Plasmius glared at the boy as he pulled at the cable connected to Zak's Claw. "Kur or no, you can do nothing to stop me!" He began to reel him in with an angry expression. Zak dug in his heels to resist, but was quickly losing ground.

"You will not harm that boy half breed!" A howl broke through as Vlad was tackled to the ground.

Zak was pulled forward with the halfa still tangled in his claw. "Whoa!?" Zak looked up from the ground to see the large wolf like creature now wrestling with Plasmius. "What the heck?"

"Wulf!?" Danny was now back on his feet nursing his side.

"You know this guy? He looks like... one of those cryptids that attacked us back in Greenland." Zak remembered as he pulled at his Claw.

Danny nodded and headed over to him. "Yeah he's a friend... I don't know what he's doing here though." He felt as if he were lying though. Something about Wulf's arrival wasn't nearly as surprising as it should have been.

"Get off me you ignorant beast!" Vlad blasted Wulf off though the beastly specter was far from beaten. He landed on his hind paws before springing back at the halfa. Though Vlad blocked with a barrier, he was thwarted in his attempt to blast Wulf with his free hand because it was still bound in the Claw's cable. He looked back to see both Danny and Zak pulling on it to hinder his attack. "Damn children..." He grumbled as he felt Wulf press the attack on his barrier.

"You think you can beat us all Fruit Loop?" Danny chuckled at Zak's use of the nickname he'd given the man.

"Not so easy anymore is it?"

Vlad growled as he pulled back on the cable, but he wasn't able to do much before Wulf broke through and took his wrist in his fangs. He swung him over his head and threw him across the room. "I will not along harm to come to my friend when he has called for my aid." Wulf snarled as he extended his claws.

Vlad glared at the ghost before looking at the wounds on his arm. "Crumb Cake..." He grumbled under his breath before glaring beyond to the younger halfa. "Know this is merely a prelude to checkmate Little Badger." He grinned though his annoyance was obvious. He appearated away moments after while Wulf growled at the fading smoke.

He sniffed the air a bit before turning to the boys. "My friend, are you injured? My apologies for taking so long to get to you." He looked over his injured friend with a sad expression.

"No worries Wulf, I'll be okay. I just can't believe you showed up when you did. I'm not even completely sure where we are." Danny admitted thinking about what Vlad had said before.

"Uh... mind explaining? Not everyone speaks ghost you know." Zak crossed his arms with his Claw in hand.

"Uh, oh no, this is Esperanto remember? Also, this is Wulf." He gestured to the large werewolf ghost. "I was just thanking him for helping us out." He then turned to Wulf. "This is Zak, a friend of mine. Sorry he doesn't speak Esperanto."

Wulf scratched his muzzle before turning to the younger boy. "Me friend." He gestured to Danny. "Danny friend." Then he pointed at Zak. "Friend?"

"Uh... sure, we can be friends." The boy responded hesitantly hoping he understood what the ghost meant.

"So what are you doing here Wulf? I thought you'd stay out of the Ghost Zone since you liked the lake."

Wulf seemed confused by Danny's question. "I came because you called me my friend."

"I called you? Huh?" Danny remarked with surprise. "What do you mean? I couldn't have called you."

Wulf raised his ears and stood to his full height. "But your call is what led me to you. If it was not you then who?"

Danny could only shrug at the question. "I was too busy with Plasmius to call anyone."

"So someone told him we needed help?" Zak looked around at the damaged room. "But that means someone else is here right? Cause it wasn't me either."

Danny rubbed his chin. "Someone else... Hmm? Could it have been..." He thought before throwing the idea out. "No way, he's never that directly helpful."

"Who?" Zak wondered looking at Danny curiously.

"Uh, nobody important... Since Plasmius is gone, we should really try to find our way out of here." He directed while looking around.

"Would this guy know?" Zak pointed to the ghost before them. "I mean he got in somehow right?"

"Good idea..." Danny turned to see Wulf sitting and scratching his ear. "Hey Wulf, how did you get in here?"

Wulf stopped and turned his snout towards a strange opening in the floor. "There my friend. When I created the portal to this world I appeared just inside a room down there."

Both Danny and Zak traded confused glances. "Uh... was that open before?" Zak asked pointing to the large serpent head now protruding from the image on the floor with a staircase in its mouth.

"If it was I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't notice. Wulf said he came in through a portal in there so we should be able to take it back don't you think?" Zak gave a shrug and headed towards the entrance only slightly hindered from the shock he took. "You sure you're okay Zak?"

"Yeah, you're the one who should be worried. You got way more of a beating from that creep then I did."

Danny rubbed his shoulder a bit. "Yeah, but I heal faster than most people." Especially recently. He couldn't help thinking back to before they showed up here. He was fine even after all the beatings he got in that Ice Bowl competition. "I'm more worried about my mom at this point. I freaked out when she was suddenly gone, I can't imagine how she is now that I've disappeared." The halfa lamented as they started down the stairs.

"Yeah, me too. My parents are probably looking everywhere, and Fisk too. He was there when we disappeared right?" Zak chuckled a bit thinking of how the lemurian was freaking out. "But it's still weird we just suddenly showed up in the castle you know? I mean I know this is a whole other dimension but still."

"You're right Zak. That's never happened before. At least not to me. I didn't even see the portal form, we were just suddenly waking up in the castle." The halfa lit up the round stairwell with his ghost ray as he rubbed his chin with his other hand. "To tell you the truth I've been seeing a lot of portals just appearing lately."

"Like the one back on the coast of Green land?" Zak inquired as he ran his hand along the old stone walls with Wulf just behind.

"Yeah, and that often led to a ghost popping through to cause trouble." He explained dryly just thinking about how many times he had to go ghost when he was sleeping, or studying. "It was beginning to really drive me crazy."

"I kinda get how you feel then. With being on the run and stuff we weren't able to do a lot of cryptid stuff like we used too." Zak lamented thinking back about all the times his powers acted up or the Secret Scientists showed up. "Different powers, same problems huh?"

"For the most part, yeah." Danny agreed with a chuckle. "Hey Wulf just how deep is this?" Danny asked after realizing they'd been walking for awhile. There was an opening ahead right after he asked so he didn't wait for an answer. "Never mind..."

"Does something feel strange to you?" Zak asked as they finally entered the room Wulf's portal was supposed to be in.

"Uh yeah, but just so we're clear, we were walking down right?"

Zak nodded as they all looked around to see they were now on a rising staircase. "I thought we were."

"Good, just wanted to make sure." Danny thought he was crazy when he suddenly realized he was walking up with no warning. The Ghost Zone was nuts, but he had yet to run into this particular effect.

"My portal has vanished my friend." Wulf informed as he sniffed the air to try and track it down.

"Figures it would go before we got here. Chances are if we opened another one, we'd turn up in the middle of nowhere." The halfa lamented in disappointment.

"Hey Danny, what's that?" Zak asked as he stood a few steps up and pointed to the glowing top of the pillar the stairs wrapped around.

Danny floated up though what he saw was surprising even despite what he'd seen so far. "That's... the Crown of Fire?" He floated a bit closer. "Maybe this is what had Plasmius so pissed off before." He deduced thinking about it. He did go to all the trouble of trying to steal it after all.

"Crown of Fire?... Where did I hear about that?" The young man thought aloud to himself.

"It's supposed to be one of the artifacts that made the ghost king so powerful remember?"

Zak snapped his fingers. "Right, unlimited power. So what's it doing here?"

Danny shrugged. "Don't know. I was wondering what Vlad did with it after that whole invasion thing. I mean he couldn't get the ring so I guess he couldn't really use it, but I figured it be hidden in some crazy vault in his house or something."

Tundra made sure the humans were escorted through the portal before leaving them to their own devices. Frostbite didn't want them wandering about the zone when they were unfamiliar with it, and he could only imagine if one of them were to get lost as well. Danny would never forgive him. Ulraj was the last to leave in minor disappointment. "It was nice while it lasted I suppose, though it is strange for the FarFrozen to suddenly be so abrasive."

"They're looking out for themselves. Nothing new there." Doyle retorted still angry about not being able to find Danny and Zak. They were now back within Kumari Kandum though the guards quickly informed them they were gone longer then they'd thought.

"A week? You must be joking. We were barely gone more than a day." Doc countered in frustrated confusion.

"Remember Doc, this happened before. I don't know why, but time seems to be flowing differently between the two dimensions here." Maddie informed with an obviously worried expression. "Which only begs the question of whether the same time has passed for the boys or only a few hours like us."

"Does it really matter? We need to find them as soon as possible." Drew countered as she punched a wall. "I can't believe something like this could happen so fast. I thought we wouldn't have to worry-"

"Calm down Drew." Doc consoled as he stopped his wife from punching the wall again. "I know, but we can't change anything."

She pulled her arm away. "I know Doc!" She then let out a sigh. "But it was my decision..."

"And I agreed to it." He added in as he wrapped and arm around her shoulders.

(Let's go!) Fisk roared as soon as he spotted the reptilian companion they left behind. Komodo hissed at the lemurian before crawling over to the other door.

"So what's the plan to find Miniman, and Danny?" Doyle asked as he leaned against the wall. "We don't have our weapons. It may have been a week, but do you really think Epsilon gave up?"

"According to the guards, they haven't seen anyone since we left." Ulraj informed as a guard stood at his side.

"Then either they left without being seen or they're still staking the island out waiting for us to come back. They have the airship after all." Doc thought aloud as he paced. "We'll need to go investigate to really know."

"Sounds good to me." Doyle gestured to the door. "At least if we get caught this time they won't get Zak or Danny."

"I'm not planning to get caught Doyle." Drew informed with a sharp tone.

"I plan to do the catching." Maddie added in looking like she was ready to tear someone limb from limb. This was no doubt due to her remembering how Epsilon treated her son.

Upon arriving close to where they left the airship they split off to look for the agents. They hadn't run into anyone, nor had they heard anything but the jungle. What was even more bizarre was how it looked as though no one had been there in days. "Anything?" Doc asked as he ran into Maddie.

"No, I spotted the Speeder back there, but no sign of the agents." She almost sounded disappointed she didn't get to have pay back.

They both turned to a loud engine sound. "Found my Jetpack." Doyle informed with a cocky grin as he hovered. "Here Doc," He threw down his battle glove.

"Thanks Doyle." He activated it with a glow. "Run into any agents?"

Doyle shook his head. "No and these weren't guarded very well either. I found them in one of those mobile station buildings with a hole in the roof." He looked around again. "Maybe they did pack up when we got away before?"

Doc took a careful glance around himself. "We don't want to assume that Doyle. Epsilon is crafty."

"Crafty enough to let us get our weapons back?" Doyle countered with a smirk before setting his feet on the ground.

"If we don't have them to worry about then we should look into finding a portal." Maddie cut in as she left the cover of the trees. "We can take the Speeder into the Ghost Zone to find the boys."

Drew ran over to them from across the clearing wearing her fire sword. "Find anyone?"

They all shook their heads. "No, but we shouldn't wait." Maddie pointed over to the Speeder. "We can come up with a plan as soon as we find a way back into the Zone."

"Do you know how we're going to find them when we get there? I mean it's endless right?"

Maddie held up her scanning device. "I can track Danny with his ecto-signature in the Speeder." She informed with a confident grin.

Doyle chuckled. "Who needs those yeti guys." The sentiment was shared by the rest of the Saturdays as they joined up with Komodo, and Fisk at the aircraft.

As soon as Maddie booted up the Speeder she connected her scanner to the dashboard. "Alright first we have to find a portal." She pressed a few buttons and radar appeared on the wall just behind her seat. "What's it reading?" Drew looked at it curiously. "I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem to be picking anything up."

"What about the number at the bottom of the screen?" She inquired in mild distress.

"Four." Drew answered in intrigue.

"Darn it... not high enough." She lifted the ship from the ground. "There has to be one nearby in a hot spot this big." She flew at a moderate pace while Drew kept her eyes on the radar.

Doyle sat in the front passenger seat watching the sky slowly darken. "Does night time help?"

"It depends." Maddie started as she noticed a strange light as they approached the ruins. "In Amity Park it does."

"What's going on down there?" Doyle asked noticing what she saw.

Doc looked over his shoulder along with Fiskerton. "Maybe the agents aren't gone after all." He almost growled at the thought.

"Or worse." Doyle gestured on the horizon at a familiar airship they'd learned to hate.

"How did Argost find his way here!?" Doc slammed his fist on the wall.

"Argost?" Maddie wondered seeing how angry the name made him.

"A cryptid freak with a face to match. Has his own twisted TV show." Doyle explained. "He's also after miniman cause he wants to control Kur like everyone else."

As if on cue a large wad of white goo coated the windshield of the Speeder which pulled it into a nose dive. Maddie was only barely able to pull it up in time for it to barely scrape against the rock surface of the ruin. The jolt of the landing was halted suddenly when the Speeder hit a wall though most of the passengers were already on the floor of the vehicle from the drop. "Damn... everyone okay?" Doc asked as he rubbed his sore head.

"Define okay..." Doyle Grumbled from his upside down position in his seat.

"You should have worn a seat belt." Maddie informed in a chiding tone being the only one not disoriented from the crash. She clicked hers off before checking on the rest in the hold. Komodo was hissing at Fisk for sitting on him while Doc helped Drew to her feet. "So does anyone know what hit us?"

"Oh wouldn't you like to know my dear." They all heard with a cackle as the side door opened up. They were greeted by a ugly beast of a man with red skin and spider features. "Please escort our guests Munya." Argost ordered from a few feet away. He rubbed his hands together as Munya easily grabbed them one by one from the ship since they were disoriented and only had one way out. The last one he captured was Maddie due to her being fine from the crash. She was ill prepared for his unusual abilities, however, and soon found herself tied up with the spider freak's webs.

All of the Saturday's glared at the man with venom in their eyes. "How did you get here Argost?" Doc demanded as he struggled against the restraints. His glove could almost reach the bindings.

"That would be telling now wouldn't it?" He cackled again before looking over the line up. "Munya!" He growled. "Are you sure that you have them all? I distinctly note the ghost child and, even more importantly, the young Kurling missing!" Munya took one more look in the Speeder before shaking his head. "Curses! How are we to get anything done without the guest of honor!?" He ranted before calming himself a bit. "No doubt he must be hiding somewhere nearby with that other boy." Munya approached him with a cell phone vibrating in his hand. "Oh?" He looked at the ID and grinned before answering. "Changed your mind have you? I thought as much." He laughed before an excited grin formed. "You don't say? So that is where they are hiding." He turned to the center of the open ruin. "That's perfect actually. I was thinking a would have to round them up myself. Don't worry, I still have what I mentioned before, an honest trade so long as I get Kur." He hung up the phone and turned to the Saturday's and Maddie. "Tick tock everyone, it's sundown, and do you know where your children are?" He asked in a teasing tone.

"I suppose you do Argost?" Drew asked with a sharp tone.

"Yes I do." He responded with a chuckle. "And because I am such a good host, I'll bring them here for you." He made a gesture with his finger and Munya headed over to one of the corners of the opening. "Much like you, it pays to have friends, and mine just stumbled across those boys but moments ago." He pulled out a paper from his sleeve and started to draw.

"Then you know they're in the Ghost Zone. How exactly to you plan to bring them here?" Maddie demanded as the man's tone grated on her nerves.

"An excellent question, uh... Madam Fenton was it? You of course know this area is simply teeming with unstable spiritual energies do you not? That meaning the border between our worlds is much thinner." He explained as he approached her. "Do you know why this is?"

She raised an annoyed brow. "Shifting spacial densities due to variations in the planets electromagnetic field disrupting the spaces between molecules in just such a way that allows for ectoplasmic energy to leak into our world." She stated rather confidently much to Argost's surprise.

"I suppose I should expect no less from the world's leading authority on ghosts." He chuckled a bit as he turned to the Saturdays. "For those of you who are not so well versed in para-dimensional theory I'll explain it simply. This area is a natural gate just waiting to be opened; created with a purpose thousands of years ago." He then finished his drawing as Munya carried a large round stone across the clearing. "But at the moment the keys are not in the right place." He showed the drawing to them and it had four creatures with a compass rose in the middle. "I imagine these Greek letters were a tad confusing when you arrived a week ago yes?" He pointed to the east and west ones. "That is because they represent an ancient cryptid map of sorts. North was indicated with the Omega where one would find the Centaur, South with the Mew where one could find the beast of Minos the minotaur, that much you know here." He then pointed to Munya. "But perhaps you never realized someone had switched the Psi and Theta stones hmm? Easy to miss when you don't know what they mean."

Doc looked over the images. "Because the Chimera supposedly lived far east to the Hydra."

Argost nodded. "Why yes, but using pictures of the beasts would be too easy."

"Tracks." Drew interjected with a glare at the twisted man.

"Ah, and the Saturdays once again rise to the challenge. The letters do indeed refer to the beasts tracks. I suppose the ancient humans thought they were being particularly clever." Argost's gloating was cut short with a grunt from Munya. "Finished already?" He asked minorly annoyed at being interrupted. He then turned to the setting sun just about to hit the horizon. "Then I suppose we need wait but a moment more."

Drew couldn't help thinking back to the book she'd been looking through before they went to the island. "But I thought... The excerpt from the book mentioned morning didn't it?" She thought back while turning to her husband.

"Land map with the morning sun?" Doyle stated thinking about what Zak had said.

"That's true, so that would mean we'd have to wait for morning not sundown."

Argost simply laughed as the stone floor shook as the sun sank below the horizon. "There's always more than one way to open a door." A large alter began to rise up from the floor, and towered three stories before it stopped. "Open Sesame!" Argost announced dramatically with his arms stretched out as a large green void appeared in the sky directly above. It swirled and morphed as it stabilized. All but Argost and Munya looked on with wide eyes, and then the green began to fade as an image appeared. A strange Black alter with a green flame now showed in the skies above, and to everyone's astonishment the boys were standing around it.

Argost you little stinker! Did anyone forget about him maybe? It has been awhile so I wouldn't blame you. Anyway, I feel bad treating the Saturday's like fish in a barrel there at the end, but the bad guys don't monologue unless they have a captive audience. Also it would appear everyone, but Danny, Zak ant their families know what's going on. How is that fair? It's not, but it nice right? Dramatic maybe? I realize my Argost isn't the best, but I'm trying my best to be dramatic for him.=^-^=

Another thing, that map he drew at the end is actually based on something I drew up when I initially mentioned in in the chapter before, and yes that is what Danny was trying to point out before the Unicorns showed up. Had he been successful I imagine everything would have already gone down without the fun detour in the FarFrozen. (But where's the fun in that?) I'm sorry Frostbite! I don't want them to be mad at you! Also, its a bit of a head canon of mine that young FarFrozen start out looking human like the Snow Women until they hit ghost puberty. I thought it would be neat to mention it.=^-^=

Anyway, I'm glad you read it despite me taking so long. Please review or pose questions. I realize this chapter my have been a tad confusing.=^-^=
