Trinity Sayu
"You know you're in a lot of trouble."
Sayu glared at Ryu with a pissed off look. She was waiting in the mess hall with the rest of the crew while Law operated on Yuri. "Look Ryu, if you had just come with me like you were suppose to I would be in less trouble. I know I make mistakes often but Yuki needed my help."
"Yeah, and you only knew that after he led you into a trap." Ryu's gaze shifted over to the purple eyed twin.
Yuki was silent, he knew that he messed up. But what else was he suppose to do? His brother's life was at stake...he would move mountains for Yuri...and Yuri would do the same for him. "I'm sorry...but I'm extremely grateful to you. If there's anyway we can pay you back, please let us know."
"Join my crew." Law walked into the mess hall announcing his presence.
"How is he Law? Will Yuri pull through?" Sayu was worried about the gray eyed twin. He was really messed up when she was applying first aid to him.
"The operation was successful." Everyone let out a sigh of relief. "He should wake up in a few hours, give or take. Now back to the matter at hand." Law sat down at his seat of the table. "Ryu, tea please."
"Hai, Captain."
"Now then...Mr. Yuki." Law subjected his fierce gaze towards Yuki, and everyone could tell that he was upset. "You've caused trouble for my first mate, therefore my crew as well. Marines will soon find our docking point and we'll have to leave before the log post resets. However, we can submerge till the log post resets but limited movement on the island as well. I should just kill you and your brother right now." Yuki gulped. "However, Ms. Mechanic has told me somewhat about you and your brother on our way back and I must say...I'm quite amazed that you hail from all the way in Wano. Your skills seem decent enough. For all the trouble you've caused us, there's only one way to repay...join my crew. As your brother is under my care, no harm will come to him or you. But when he is out of my care and you decline my offer, well...you can fill out the rest of the blanks. You seem like a smart person."
Sayu grinned and turned to Yuki. "Oh Yuki! Yuri told me that you and him sing! You can be our musicians! I have so many songs saved on my laptop, you guys can totally sing them! And also, our crew is so cool! Once you're part of the crew, you're part of the family. We're not that bad, really. You'll have a wonderful Captain!" Sayu points to Law as he takes a sip of tea. "And I'm not too bad of a first mate either! We can be really nice! And Bepo, Ryu, Shachi and Penguin are super nice when you get to know them. Please Yuki...we...we can take care of you guys...we can be comrades...family."
"...You would take in the Demon Twins of Wano?" Yuki gazed down at the table with a troubled expression. "We're probably a handful...I wouldn't want to be trouble to you guys on your adventure. All our lives, we've been told that we shouldn't exist...why...why would you guys want us? Why would you want us to live?"
Sayu's grin turned into a gentle smile. "Excuse me for saying this but it's one of my favorite quotes from an anime I watched...people can't live until someone tells them it's okay to do so. I'm pretty sure your parents wanted you to live, but after them...everyone told you it wasn't. You got discouraged...scared...afraid to live. But now...we're telling you...that it's okay to live. Live Yuki...you and Yuri. You both need to live...and you can start really living your lives again, but with us by your sides."
Tear drops stained the table as Yuki tried to hold them in. Both Shachi and Penguin we're already bawling their eyes out and Ryu was...well Ryu rolled his eyes. "Alright...this is a bit too sappy for me, I'm gonna head out." Ryu exited himself out of the mess hall.
"We'll do it." Yuki looked at Law with a brave and tear stained face. "We'll become the Heart Pirates musicians."
"Bepo! This calls for a party!" Sayu jumped out of her seat and grabbed Bepo and Yuki as she did so. "RYU! Get back here and get us some sake! I will take lemonade though. Everyone else-to the chill room!"
"Wait." Everyone froze as Law spoke up and they looked at him. "Welcome abroad Mr. Yuki. But before you start partying..." Law held up the letter he stashed in his pocket. "What is this, Ms. Mechanic?"
Once the letter was held up, Shachi and Penguin both jumped out of their seats. "Welp, we'll be in the louge waiting on you guys." Shachi said nervously and dragged Penguin out.
Sayu stared at the envelope with the tiny heart on it. "I don't know what that is."
Law chuckled menacingly. "But you do know, as it's addressed to you. But not only that, you need punishment as well for this little side trip that you took. So...the punishment starts with me reading this letter aloud."
Sayu mentally grimaced, she didn't know who the letter was from. All she could guess was that her father sent her some crappy letter about how he loves her and all that bull. "W-Wait Law...I mean it's just a letter. It's probably from my father..."
"And that is where you're wrong Ms. Mechanic. Because no father...would write his daughter a love letter from a man named...Sanji." Law opened the envelope as Sayu stood rigid. "Ahem...'Dearest Goddess sent from heaven. I hope you had remembered me as you had sought me out. When I first saw you, your eyes shined with adventure in them, not only that but admiration. I hoped it was for me, and I get the feeling it was. I do not know what this connection we have is, but I hope we can continue it. I could tell many things from that one meeting and it left quite an impression. I'm writing this letter the moment you left because I do not wish to forget about a maiden such as yourself. If we are to ever meet again, know that I will take you as my promise wife. Till we meet again, with great love, Sous Chef Sanji.' And that's it." Law tossed the letter on the table and glanced at Sayu. She was a puddle of mess.
"...H-He wrote me a letter...holy shit, the mail service in this place is no joke. That got here quick as hell." Sayu patted her cheeks hoping to get rid of the blushing.
"Ms. Mechanic...if I see this Sanji character within two hundred feet of you, I will kill him. People like him need to be taught to know their place." Law glared at the letter like it was venom and everyone shuddered. "Your punishment is...I'm taking away your laptop and double chore time for the next week."
"NOT MY LAPTOP! THE ANIME!"
Sakumo Yuri
Yuri's eyes opened slowly but instantly shut at the bright light above him. "Ugh...my body..."
"Nii-san!" Yuki grabbed his brother's hand and held it. "Yuri...are you alright?"
"Felt like I was hit by a train...that cowboy..." Yuri opened his eyes and stared at his two minute younger brother. "Yuki...you're okay...thank kami...I was worried...you idiot...where are we?"
Yuki felt like crying all over again, his brother is going to be okay. "We're on Sayu's ship...with the Heart pirates. Her Captain is a doctor...he saved your life Yuri."
Yuri blinked slowly. "We owe that girl a lot...what did Darren do to you? ...I heard your screams all through that base."
"Ah...uh...you don't want to know. Just know that I'm alright." Yuki looked away. He didn't want his brother to know about his...uh...family jewels being...under subjection. "Yuri...they want us to be part of their crew."
"What?" Yuri took a deep sigh. "We can't be pirates...they wouldn't want us to be with them. We're practically cursed Yuki. No one would want us."
"But that's just it Yuri! ...Sayu said...she said...people can't live until someone tells them it's okay to do so...she said that. They want us...they want us to live...and be part of the crew...their family. I said we would...we owe them so much. Sayu rescued us and her captain saved your life Yuri. If he wasn't there...I don't...I don't-"
"Don't think about what ifs. Only worry about the now." Yuri cut off his brother. "...She said that, huh? Honestly...there's something about that girl...do you want to be part of the crew?"
Yuki blushed but nodded. "I would like to be part of this crew, yes."
"Then we'll do it. Who knows...this could be the start of a new beginning for us." Yuri smiled at his brother. "And besides, I have to pay back that cowboy. Chances are higher of meeting him if we travel."
"Don't worry Yuri. We'll get our payback. That cowboy will think twice about messing with the Demon Twins of Wano when we see him next time. And you know we fight better when we're together, most of our attacks are combos." Yuki squeezed his brothers hand. "Hungry? They have a great cook here, he's a little weird but makes excellent food."
"...Yeah, I could go for some food." At that moment the door opened.
"Well glad you're hungry then, I was already two steps ahead." Ryu walked in with a tray of various food. "This is a light diet as you just came out of operation. Captain's orders, nothing heavy." Ryu placed the tray on the bedside as Yuki helped his brother sit up. "Captain said bed rest for the next three days for you and then light rehabilitation." Yuki spoon fed his brother some oatmeal. "So...I feel like we just pick up strays left and right. It's mainly the shrimp who likes to scout out possible new crew mates. The name is Ryu, the cook on the ship. Already met your brother when he tricked us about a music concert." Ryu stared at Yuki as he looked away with a shamed face.
"Lay off my brother, he did what he had to do." Yuri glared at the cook.
Ryu held up his hands. "Don't worry, we've already been there and done that. We understood why you did what you had to do. But for future reference...the Captain doesn't like liars. Just giving you that tidbit."
"We won't ever lie to the Captain again." Yuki said. "...Thank you for helping us."
"Don't thank me. If I had my way, you two would be tossed in the ocean." Both twins froze. "However, I'm not the Captain, and I'm pretty sure the shrimp would shoot me before I could even lay a finger on you two. So...all I can say is...welcome to the crew." Ryu smirked at the twins.
"...So what's it like?" Yuri asked him.
"What's what like?" Ryu asked in confusion.
"Being part of a pirate crew."
Ryu's eyes lit up slightly. "Oh, that. Well, it's exciting and never a boring moment to say the least. The Captain and first mate are great people when you get to know them. And then the other knuckleheads are...well just idiots...besides Bepo. He's pretty chill."
"Bepo! I need a hug! Law took away my laptop!" Sayu's voice could be heard outside the med bay. She sounded like she was on the verge of tears.
"But it's hot when we're submerged."
Ryu chuckled. "And the best part would have to be our favorite mechanic and first mate. Honestly, if I hadn't have met her, I probably would have been stuck on my island labeled as a criminal for the rest of my life."
"...Sayu saved you too?" Yuki asked with interest.
"I wouldn't so much as say it was all her...if the Captain didn't agree to help me, I would've been stuck. However, if she didn't stick out like the sore thumb she is, I probably wouldn't have ever noticed her and never gotten their help. So in a way...she helped out big time. There's just something about the shrimp that attracts all type of attention to her. Nothing to do with her father being a yonko though. She has attraction all her own."
"Her father is a yonko?!" Both twins asked at the same time.
Ryu looked at them with a weird look. "How do you speak at the same time? ...Yeah, her father is Red Haired Shanks. Honestly though, she attracts too much attention if you ask me, good and bad."
The next evening
Haken
"I am Karumi! I will be the one that smites evil!"
Haken closed the locket he was staring at and placed it back in his pocket. The reason for the memories of his little sister coming back was because of those twins and that girl. That girl had an uncanny similarity to his dead baby sister. His baby sister...Karumi. If only he could rewind time to that day...if only he didn't leave her in the hands of those crooked marines. She might have still been alive to this day. Did Haken believe in reincarnation...? No...not really...however, the similarity is scary...the only difference being their height and hair color. Other than that, the two could have passed for sisters. What was that girls name? That swordsman shouted her name...Shuri? Suki? ...No...Sayu...there it is. Her name was Sayu...and she looked exactly like his sister. "Karumi...are you trying to send me a message by bringing someone who looks identical to you to me?" Haken gazed up at the night sky where the stars shone brightly. Haken hated the stars...they too reminded him of his dead sister. The way her eyes shone when she talked about becoming a marine when she got older. ...Then...why? If his sister was dead...then why did the stars still shine in the sky when she couldn't shine any longer.
Haken was more than just a cowboy mercenary...he was a man with a broken heart.
"Stupid Bepo...stupid Shachi...stupid Penguin...stupid Ryu...dumb Sanji for sending that letter..."
And speak of the devil as they say. The object of his pain was walking across the street from him cursing at the world. "Oi, little soldier." Haken called out to the red haired girl and she looked up from her list that she was looking down at. She froze when she saw the cowboy.
"Agh! You're that guy! The mercenary!" Sayu marched over to him with an angry expression. "You caused a lot of trouble for Yuki and Yuri! Yuri is still on bed rest because of you!"
Haken chuckled at her expression. She really was too cute when looking angry. "Now now, I was on job. You can't blame me for working to put food on the table, can you?" He sent her a wink and pointed to the seat across from him. They were at an outdoor cafe that was actually getting ready to close for the evening.
Sayu sat down across from him. She wasn't worried, she was armed this time and was fairly certain she could hold her own against the sexy cowboy. "I can't blame you for working, but I can blame you for almost killing him."
"Guilty." Haken smirked. "Dessert? On me. They're almost closing so all that's left is dessert, if the little soldier would like some. They have a special on strawberry cake." Haken waved a waitress over.
"...Why aren't you attacking?" Sayu was confused. One moment this guy was going to kill Yuri, the next he's treating her to her weakness...strawberry cake. "We're enemies, aren't we?"
The waitress took the order and walked away from the table. "No, not now at least. I'm a hired hand. If you aren't on my target list, then you're safe. I only kill who I'm paid to kill. Your friend is really lucky to survive. You must have one hell of a doctor. Pirate, right?" Haken sipped on some sake.
"Yeah, we're pirates alright! And Law is the best doctor in the world. None can match his skills." Sayu grimaced as she just remember what she's suppose to be doing for Law. "I'm suppose to be running errands right now. Since that base got destroyed, the marines have been all over the place. It's only safe to come out at night for us to get supplies. I'm already in trouble and on punishment so if I don't get back at a certain time, Law will never give me back my laptop."
Haken looked genuinely confused. "What's a laptop?" The strawberry caked arrived at the table with one spoon.
"Enjoy your date." The waitress winked and walked away.
"D-D-D-Date? This isn't a date! Dumb lady...everyone has been dumb today..." Sayu stared at the one spoon as Haken lifted it and cut a piece holding it out for her. "...Whaa?"
"Just eat it." Haken feed her the strawberry cake. It reminded him of when he would playfully feed his little sister. Sayu's mouth melted as the strawberry flavor gushed on her tongue.
"Mmmmmhhhh...a laptop is a computer built for me. I have more high tech than anyone else on the Grand Line." She couldn't just outright spill her secret of being from another world. Only her and Law will take that secret to the grave.
Haken grabbed a napkin and dabbed her mouth. "Messy eater we got here." He chuckled.
Sayu frowned. "Only when strawberries are involved. Strawberries are life, everyone should know that."
Haken fed Sayu the last of the cake and placed some beli on the table. "You must be quite the little genius to be building high tech, no?"
Sayu eyes sparkled with excitement. "Yep! My mother taught me everything, and I-" Sayu paused then glared at Haken. "You're distracting me! You hurt Yuri and you're trying to get me in more trouble! You're evil, and I smite evil!"
Haken's entire body froze. "You...smite evil?" Why? Why did she have to say that? Why...why did she have to be so much like his sister...so much that it hurts.
"One of my favorite characters from a game said that! I love her quotes...I'm such a nerd..." Sayu sulked at herself. "I have to go get these errands done before all the stores close. It was nice meeting you without the whole..." Sayu waved her hands around. "...trying to kill me and kill you thing." Sayu got up, wiped her hands off and made her way to escape. However, Haken followed suit, right behind her. "Why are you following me? Don't follow me!"
"Now now little soldier, I'm not following you, merely going in the same direction, cool?" Haken smiled that gorgeous panty dropping smile.
Trinity Sayu
Sayu didn't know what to do. She finished gathering the supplies Law needed her to before the log sets in the morning. She also had dinner...well dessert for the night. And now she's ready to go back to the sub. However...she has a shadow. She's not talking about her own shadow. But that damn sexy cowboy with the metal arm. "I told you to stop following me! You went into every store I went into and you aren't even trying to hide that you're basically stalking me! Are you an undercover marine?!"
"I hate marines." Haken spat with blood lust in those gorgeous eyes. "I really do hate the marines with a passion. I would never work for them." His eyes relaxed as he gaze at Sayu. "I'm following you because you peaked my interest."
"Interest?! You've been stalking me because of a-"
"Are you Trinity Sayu, the Crimson Bullet?"
"Who the fuck is asking?!" Sayu turned around from yelling at Haken to see three marines behind her. "Shit..." Sayu coughed and in an extremely high and awful attempt at to disguise her voice stated the following. "You have me confused with someone else."
Crickets chirped at her obvious lie and even Haken had to chuckle at her sad attempt. The marines were not amused. One grabbed her arm which held all her bags. "I'm afraid you'll have to come with us ma'am."
Sayu yanked her arm away trying to get the marine to release her. "Now wait just a minute! Don't you touch me with your filthy hands! If Law finds out you touched me-"
"High-low draw." A card sliced the marine's arm off that was holding onto Sayu. Blood sprayed all over him.
"Argggggg! My arm!" The marine fell to the ground clutching his stump of arm as the remaining two pointed their guns at Haken.
"Now now rowdy soldiers. The little lady said no to your request." Haken called his card back and caught it between two of his fingers. Swirling that one card on one of his digits he stared at the marines that were shaking. "Do you want to dance with me? I may float like a butterfly but I sting like a bee."
This guy is really cool and Sayu fucking loves it. Forget that he was just stalking her a moment ago, she's totally digging his cool style. He's like...a level of Kakashi Hatake cool. She's practically drooling just staring at him. Snapping back to reality, Sayu pulled out one of her pistols and pointed them towards the marines. "You can take your friend back and get him help or you can die where you stand. You have three seconds to make a choice."
The marines were smart enough to know they were outmatched. "We'll report this to the Captain and be back with reinforcements!" They dragged their injured friend away with haste.
Sayu scoffed at their cowardly retreat. "Marines are so...ugh...useless." Sayu's phone beeped letting her know she needed to get back and now. "Fuck, I have to hurry..." Sayu looked back at Haken and sighed knowing she was going to regret this but now she owed him. "Do you have a place to sleep tonight?"
Haken smiled sweetly at her.
Trafalgar Law
"Why is he here? I'll fucking kill him!" Yuri was sitting up in the bed inside the medbay while Law was sitting at his desk reading and taking notes. But at the moment, Sayu and the mercenary were inside talking to him. Law is a level headed person so none of this really surprises him anymore when he sends his first mate out to do things. She always comes back with something unnecessary. "I will slaughter these walls with your guts!" However, the mercenary's presence was riling up his patient.
"Phew, scary enough bokken soldier. Looks like you forgot who won already." Haken stated with a smug look.
Yuri made a move to get out of the bed and go straight to the silver haired cowboy. "Where are my blades?! I'll destroy you!"
"Let's move this outside. Mr. Yuri, control yourself or I will strap you down." Law warned his subordinate with a glare that shut him up instantly. Sayu, Haken and Law moved outside the med bay and into the lounge. "So you helped my first mate out and now want compensation, is that it?"
"Along those line. Sounds about right Captain-san." Haken stared at Sayu as she munched on some pocky. He took one from her box.
"Heyyyyyyy...those are mineeee..." Sayu grumbled, glaring at the mercenary. A strand of her hair fell out of place and Haken reached over and pushed it out of her face.
"Mine now, little soldier."
Law stared at the two in front of him with a calculating look. There's something there that he's missing...but what is it? Why is this mercenary so attached to his mechanic? More attached then one should be when just meeting for the first time. Law isn't one to beat around the bush when it involves his crew. "What's the attachment?"
"What?" Haken stopped his chewing of pocky like he got caught.
Law leaned back on the sofa and sighed. "I'm a doctor. I'm not stupid. You have an irrational attachment to my first mate. What is it?"
"You have an attachment to me?" Sayu asked dumbly. How could she not see it, Law would never know. Hopefully she will get a little bit more people smart in the upcoming future.
Haken chewed his pocky slowly before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a handkerchief. He then dabbed Sayu's mouth of the crumbs like he did at the restaurant. "She's my sister."
"PFTTTTTT!" Sayu spit taked all her pocky and the sticky crumbs went sticking onto Haken's face. "Sister?! I don't have a brother! We don't even look alike!"
Haken wiped his face of the crumbs and sighed. "My sister is dead. But the little soldier looks exactly like her minus a few things." Hakens gaze went to adoration when staring at his Sayu...which she never noticed.
So that was it. His first mate reminded him of his dead sister...the same could be said for Law when he thinks about...Lami. He wonders at times what she would've been like had she been able to grow up. He imagines she would be a little like his first mate...just more people oriented. Law could use this to his advantage...the mercenary is very powerful. And his first mate could be...the bait. "If you sleep in this sub tonight...you're part of the crew."
"...Ehhhh?!" Sayu stared at Law with a shocked look. "You can't be serious, Law! I mean I know he helped me out, but let's not forget that he tried to kill Yuri! Both Yuki and Yuri will try to kill him! You can't just-"
"Are you questioning my orders, Sayu?" Law gave her a calculated glare with promise for punishment for talking back.
Sayu gulped with sweat beading down her face. "Nope, none at all...hahaha...yep..."
"Do I get to sleep in the same room as the little soldier?"
"No." Law stated with a straight face as Haken laughed.
"Well, I tried." Haken poked Sayu in the side and she swatted his hand away. "Hello...first mate."
Law smirked with a satisfied hum. Three new strong crew mates on this one island. What a good way to start off his adventure for One Piece.
