Trinity Sayu
"...It's been three days...why are you guys still at each other's throats? We all stay on this ship together. We're going to have to get along." Sayu stared at the three newest additions to the crew. Currently Haken had a wall of playing cards whirling around him in defense. Yuki and Yuri had their blades draw and were out for blood for the gorgeous cowboy.
"They attacked first, I'm only returning the favor." Haken smirked at the twins as they glared viciously at him.
"We don't like you..." Yuki said in his soft voice, but it held venom to it.
Haken whistled and rubbed his nose while looking away. "That's been made clear many times by you bokken soldiers. Now, why don't you put those knives away and stop making fools of yourselves? What do you say?"
"K-KNIVES?!" Yuri swiped at the air where Haken stood a second ago. "They're our blades!"
"Really? Could've swore they were giant knives that you were waving around. Really had me fooled for a second." Haken skipped back to the railing of the ship where Sayu was lounging with Bepo. "Really though. Calm yourselves...the way you are, you'll never match up to my skill. Why don't you go train for ten years and then come back? We'll see who's better then."
"You son of bitch! You're fucking mocking us! HURRICANE!" Yuri spun his body in high speed rotation, kicking up wind and charged himself towards Haken. Just before he could touch him though, Yuki blocked Yuri's blades with his own.
"Nii-san! Calm down...he's trying to rile you up. You'll damage the ship if this keeps up..."
Sayu scoffed. "As if, I built this ship. It'll take more than some wind and sharp blades to damage this beauty. Right, Bepo?" Sayu patted Bepo's soft fur and his sleep bubble popped.
"Mmmhm. The Captain won't like it if he catches you guys fooling around though." Bepo yawned and slowly drifted back to sleep.
"Yuki, out of my way! I won't be satisfied until our blades have tasted his blood!" Yuri tried to move pass his younger brother.
"Nii-san, stop!" Yuki clung to his brother, holding him in place. "Believe me, I want father to taste his blood too, but we can't now..."
"You're all idiots." Chains flew from the kitchen door where Ryu was coming out with his arms extended. Three separate chains each wrapped around Yuki, Yuri and Haken who were unprepared for a third attack, holding them in place. "You're distracting me from preparing for tonight's dinner with your noise. Chill the fuck out. I should just ask the Captain to put all three of you in the brig. And why aren't you stopping them shrimp? Take charge for once and control the crew."
"Don't call her that disgusting pet name." Haken spat at the cook. In the past days, Haken's attachment to Sayu has grown and he's become extremely overprotective of her. It grates on everyone's nerves how he follows her everywhere like a lost puppy. Even Law himself has been getting irritated with the cowboy and stalking his first mate. Everyone was seriously annoyed, except the object of his attention herself. "I'll teach her name to you if you'd like Kurokoto-san."
Ryu glared at the cowboy and tightened his chains slightly making Haken slightly blue from the force. "Hold your tongue cowboy. Sounds like you're trying to say something else. You haven't seen my skills yet. Don't handle more than you can."
"Ryu, you're instigating everything now." Sayu mumbled and took a sigh. "How much longer to the next island? I think we're all just getting a bit restless from being cooped up in the sub so long..." Sayu flipped through her Ipod, scrolling through her pictures, looking for a new screen saver picture for it. She had taken pictures of everyone on the sub, but she doesn't have a picture of all of them in it yet. It's hard getting Haken and the twins in a picture together without them fighting. Yuri, being the hotheaded twin, attack first ask question later type of guy usually starts the conflict. And Yuki being the soft spoken and more level headed of the twins, unfortunately follows his older brother without question most of the time.
"Oi! Let us go, Ryu!" Yuri shouted at the cook with a scowl. "I'll save us a lot of trouble and just throw this guy overboard right now!"
"Are you guys still fighting?" Shachi and Penguin walked onto the deck from behind Ryu and glanced around. Shachi sighed like he was worn out. "Jeez guys, you have to relax or else the Captain is gonna get upset again."
"Yeah, and when the Captain is upset, everyone gets upset." Penguin mumbled and adjusted his hat blocking the sun rays. However no one was prepared for what Yuri shouted next.
"FUCK THE CAPTAIN! I'LL KILL THIS FUCKER!"
Complete and utter silence after that statement from Yuri. Sayu's eyes got dark with the promise of pain and everyone twitched when they felt the blood lust coming from her. "Don't you ever...don't you ever disrespect Law again...he is your Captain..." Sayu stood up and Bepo tried to hold her back, but she slipped just a reach from his arm as she marched over to Yuri, who was still locked in place from Ryu's chains. Yuri was shaking from the intense gaze from the first mate. "If I ever hear those words again...I promise you...torture will be followed. No one...absolutely no one ever talks bad about Law in front of me and thinks they can get away with it. This is your one and only warning...got it?" Sayu stared up into Yuri's eyes, making sure to get her point across with the gray eyed twin.
"...Sorry...it won't happen again." Yuri apologized and held his head down in shame.
Sayu did a quick one eighty and smiled brightly. "Oh good, I didn't want to have to get forceful! Law is just really the most amazing person so I think really high of him! If anything ever happened to him I wouldn't know what to do!" Sayu let out a boisterous laugh. "As if anyone could even hope to touch him with me by his side! Hahahaha!" Everyone shared a single thought, that when Sayu is serious...it's downright scary. "Hey Ryu, let them go. Haken and I were suppose to go to his lab and play with his chemicals!"
Haken wasn't just a mercenary, he was actually a brilliant scientist and loved experimenting and creating new potions and syrups. "I've got a new formula we could try to recreate. You up for it?" Haken asked Sayu as Ryu released everyone and he dusted his clothes off.
"Mmhm! Let's go." Sayu and Haken marched back into the sub towards the laboratory.
Trafalgar Law
"That was entertaining to say the least." Law announced his presence from the other end of the deck from where he just came from the control room.
"Captain!" Shachi and Penguin saluted him like idiots.
Law glared at them. "We don't do that here. Only marines salute, we're pirates, get it right." Law shook his head at his crew's idiocy. "Oh and Mr. Yuri, I would comment on the insubordination I heard, but Ms. Mechanic already seems to have taken care of it for me so I'll hold myself just this once. You're a bit pale, you alright?" He chuckled at the pale musician.
Yuri was still shaking from the small first mate's blood lust earlier. "...I'm fine Captain. Sorry...it was a spur of the moment..."
"Please forgive him Captain, Yuri is hotheaded and speaks a lot before he thinks. He didn't mean it on purpose. I'll take any punishment you deem fit for him." Yuki bowed to Law and stayed in that bowed manner till Law address him.
"Honorable that you would take punishment in place of your brother. But like I said, no need. Ms. Mechanic already took care of it. Anyway, everyone get ready. Our next island is in sight." Everyone looked to the horizon where indeed there was an island in sight.
"Oh yes! Being cooped up with Bepos sweat when we're submerged was killing me!" Shachi pumped his fist in excitement.
"I don't really smell that bad...do I?" Bepo sniffed himself and shrugged his shoulders. "I think I smell like I always smell."
"Like an animal Bepo, you smell like an animal." Penguin said shaking his head.
Ryu touched his chin in thought. "Isn't that kinda of racist of you, Penguin? Bepo is an animal after all."
Bepo shrugged once more. "I'm not offended."
"OW!" A wrench dropped from where it hit Penguin in the head and everyone turned back to see Sayu and Haken peaking out.
"It was mean of you to say, Penguin." Sayu said and held up another wrench with a menacing glare. "Don't make me throw another one."
"Please stop throwing your tools Ms. Mechanic, Penguin and Shachi are both going to lose whatever brains they have left." Law said and he leaned against the railing, staring at the island in the distance.
"Whatever you say, Law." Sayu and Haken went back inside.
"What island is that, Bepo?" Yuki asked the polar bear.
Bepo pulled out the map he keeps and looked over the coordinates. "Um...Orses I think. It's named after the one who founded this island and colonized it I think. It's got two towns in it and lots of forest more than anything. A lot of undiscovered caves as well."
"I smell adventureeeeeeeee..." Penguin smiled.
Law gazed at the island with a laid back smirk. "Indeed."
Haken
"So keep the butanediol between one eighty and three hundred, then add a bit of atmosphere pressure in the tube. Press the green button right there."
Sayu pressed the button and watched the liquid turn to a green color. Science was becoming one of Sayu's favorite past times with Haken. He's really a whiz when it comes to this stuff. "Now what?"
Haken handed Sayu a vial of brownish coloring liquid. "Add this to the drip line. It's a copper catalyst, then watch."
Sayu carefully poured the liquid into the drip line bag and then waited...and waited. "It's not doing anything, Haken."
Haken chuckled. "Trust me it is. Science takes patience little soldier. The benefits are well rewarded when you're careful and take your time." The liquid slowly turned to a clear color, almost like water. "Now, we add the final touch." Haken pulled out a capsule with a purple pill in it and placed it in the tube.
"So...what is it?" Sayu stared at the pill in curiosity as it dissolved in the liquid, turning that liquid from clear to purple.
"Glad you asked. I call it the emotion enhancer. Basically we're going to pour our final product into the bokken soldier's next drink of choice." Haken removed their little science experiment from it's case and carefully poured it in a beaker. After stirring it carefully and slowly Haken looked proudly at his next prank for that hotheaded twin.
"Is it going to hurt Yuri? If so, I forbid it." Sayu said with a harsh glare at the cowboy.
"Come now, little soldier. I'm not that mean. It's just going to heighten his emotions a little and at the most, leave a bad and bitter taste of copper in his mouth. He'll be alright, trust me on this." Haken rubbed Sayu's head and gave her a reassuring smile.
Sayu puffed out her cheeks with a cute pout. "You promise?"
Haken made a cross on his chest. "I swear it. Besides, pretty sure Captain-san wouldn't appreciate me trying to hurt the bokken soldier with biochemicals. And I wouldn't want to upset our cute little first mate."
"I'm not little!" Sayu played with her fingers and looked away from Haken. "Just really small in height...that's it. I'll grow some more soon..."
"I know you will, you're only fifteen, you have more growing to do. Anyway, next chance we get, let's slip this baby into one of his drinks and watch the magic happen." Haken placed the beaker down and grabbed an empty vial. "He's just going to experience mild euphoria and then tell us how he really feels."
"...If you say so." Sayu felt a little guilty about being accessory to poisoning her fellow crew mate.
Haken looked over to his person of affections and gazed at her with adoration. Haken wasn't in love with Sayu, just overprotective and only wants to see her smile. Partially it's because he sees a lot of Karumi in Sayu. "So let's get ready. Captain-san said we would make dock soon."
"Finally, I love this sub but I hate when we submerge, it gets really hot no matter how much I crank up the air. And mostly the air filters work when we're not submerged. It feels like a sauna in here from time to time." Sayu fanned her face in dramatic effect.
Trafalgar Law
The sub was docked and everyone took a moment as soon as they stepped outside to look around. There was green everywhere they looked with a sole dirt path in front of them. "Bepo, Ms. Mechanic, you're with me. Ryu, and Mr. Haken, you're in charge of food and medicine. I trust you both know your stuff. Shachi and Penguin, see if you can gather any herbs in this vegetation. Hope you two have been reading up on the books I gave you. Twins, guard the sub."
"What? Captain, can't we explore too?" Yuki asked with a disappointed look.
Law smirked at the twins. "No can do. Need someone to stay with the ship and you two just seem perfect for the job."
Both twins looked a little crestfallen, but it gave Haken the easy opening to tease them. "Come on bokken soldiers. A simple task for the weakest members we have. Tell me you can at least do this right."
Yuri reached for his blades on his back. "Why you-"
"Cut it out, Mr. Haken. Enough with the games." Law glared at the cowboy and Haken frowned.
"Captain-san, I would like to join the little soldier on this one."
"Denied." Law was done with this stupid game Haken is playing with his first mate. Dead sister or not, the only one who would protect his first mate from anything is himself.
"Tch." Haken gritted his teeth but said nothing. Behind him, Yuki and Yuri were sticking their tongues out at him in satisfaction. Anything to see the disappointed look on the cowboys face.
"Haken." Haken looked up at the voice of Sayu. "It's alright." She smiled gently at him and that seemed to ease Haken's nerves.
Law understood why she did it. On the second day of Haken being on the sub, Law had pulled his first mate aside and talked with her. Explaining to her that the cowboy had an attachment disorder that most likely showed itself when his younger sister died. He was probably a teenager when she died, as most attachment disorders only appear in early childhood or even infancy sometimes. The signs were control issues, an extreme sense of humor to avoid the real emotions he would be feeling, and having realistic expectations that just couldn't be. Such as having Sayu be his actual blood sister. His first mate took it all in stride. That's the main reason why it doesn't bother her anymore when Haken follows her everywhere. It gives the cowboy a sense of normalcy and safety to have her in his sights. However, that doesn't fly with everyone else...especially Law. Law is a doctor and has studied mental disorders as well. But it will take time to fix the cowboy's disorder. You can't just flip a switch and expect him to be okay. Law should probably set up counseling sessions with the cowboy to avoid any future problems between him and his mechanic.
"What are we going to do, Captain?" Bepo asked Law, bringing him away from his thoughts.
"We're going into the first town to see if we can find out when the log post resets and maybe even explore some of those caves you were talking about. A little adventure is good for everyone." Law shifted his nodachi onto his shoulder and turned back to the dirt path. "You have your orders. Ryu and Mr. Haken, follow us to town and then we'll split from then. Meet back at the sub before the sun sets. That gives us a few hours. Let's move people."
"ADVENTURE!" Shachi and Penguin ran off into the forest.
"You guys, don't get lost...or eaten!" Sayu called out to the two engineers.
"Sayu-chan! Stop scaring us!" Penguin called back before they disappeared in greens.
"I guess we'll go train on the sub then, huh Nii-san?" Yuki smiled at his older brother who only sucked his teeth in exasperation.
"Yeah, yeah. Training." The twins disappeared back into the sub.
Trinity Sayu
"Oh wow, it's actually a pretty nice place. Like a little village..." The first town of Orses was called Alkyde. They said that Orses had two siblings and that the towns were also named after them. Alkyde and Katharsis. Sayu, Bepo and Law were in Alkyde while Ryu and Haken went on ahead to Katharsis. "I've never been in an actual village before. This is pretty cool." Sayu glanced around and saw little houses...or huts. They looked more like huts to her.
"Enough gazing. Let's ask someone when the log post resets." Law walked ahead of them, leaving Bepo and Sayu in the back.
Sayu noticed that none of the villagers had probably seen anyone like Bepo before as they stared at him like he was a star. "Bepo, you're popular. You lucky bear you."
Bepo blushed and his ears twitched nervously. "I think they're just shocked to see me."
"Anyone would be, Bepo." Law commented. "You're not exactly...normal in human standards." He smirked at the defeated look on his navigators face. "But, you're normal for us, so it's okay."
Bepo perked up at Laws comment. "Thank you, Captain."
"Law, over there! It's a little triangle hut!" Sayu pointed at the one hut that looked different from the rest.
Law rolled his eyes slightly. "Great observation Ms. Mechanic. Would you like a star for a good job?" He asked her with sarcasm dripping on every word.
"Lawwwwww...please no teasing. Usually when something is out of place, it could mean that it's important. Let's check it out, please." Sayu jogged over to the triangle hut and stood outside it. "Excuse me!" Sayu called out to see if anyone was in the hut. Just as Law and Bepo stood beside her, a man came out of the hut.
"Yes?" He was an elderly man with a cane. He stared at the three pirates standing outside his hut.
"Hi, my name is Trinity Sayu. It's nice to meet you!" Sayu smiled at the elder man and he nodded back to her.
"I am Haru, the Village chief of Alkyde. What can I do for you?" Haru stroked his beard while examining the three in front of him.
"Well, we just docked here and were wondering how long it would take for the log post to reset? And also looking for information on the caves we've heard about." Sayu asked the man politely.
Haru nodded at the young girl. "The log posts takes two days to reset for the next island. As for the caves, I would avoid them for now."
Law looked at the old man with an interest in his eyes. "And why is that?"
"Well, some unruly folks came here just before you guys. Last night, they docked on the other side of the island, close to Katharsis. Pirates as well I believe. Not friendly at all to say either." Haru grew agitated as he remembered those young pirates from last night. They were quite rude unlike these people.
"Other pirates don't scare us much, sir." Bepo stated.
Old man Haru choked. "You-You can talk, lad?"
"I'm sorry..." Bepo looked sad.
Sayu chuckled and patted Bepos back. "It's alright, Bepo. Not everyone can understand how cool you are."
"Old man." Law moved in front of his two crew mates. "Do you know who they were, or remember what they look like?"
Haru recalled his memory to them. "They didn't say which crew they were, however, their leader if I judged him correctly...he had red hair like flames, kind of like yours, child." He looked at Sayu's hair.
"Could it be my father's crew? But my father isn't...'unruly' as you put it." Sayu mumbled to herself.
"He was pale, muscular, should really grow some eyebrows. He didn't have any that I could see. I hope my eyesight isn't going that bad." Haru said and Sayu and Bepo chuckled. "A long brown trench coat...carried a pistol and knife in his belt and also had a pair of goggles on his head."
Sayu froze and shook a little bit which didn't go unnoticed by her Captain. "Shit..."
"You know them Ms. Mechanic?" Law asked her.
Sayu gulped and started to sweat. "Not personally but...read about them...I just...never would have thought we would run into them. Law...we're dealing with Eustass 'Captain' Kidd and the Kidd pirates..."
Bepo just turned to Sayu. "Should we be worried?"
Sayu grimaced. "Yeah...oh shit...Shachi and Penguin are out there alone...the Kidd pirates are merciless Law. Shachi and Penguin...shit!"
Law knew that if his mechanic was worried then it was time to go. Law turned to Old man Haru. "Which way to the caves?"
