Trinity Sayu
Sayu sighed for what seemed like the fourth time in a row and it was aggravating Law to no end. She missed Ace dearly and was slightly depressed about it. Okay...maybe a lot. A few days passed since her birthday and all she had been doing was sighing and reading Sanji's letters to her. Law had also given her some medic and nursing books to read over. But lets face facts...Sayu is bored.
Law looked over to his first mate. They were both in his med bay doing they're own thing, but Sayu had said she wanted to spend 'quality time' with him as she put it. Quality time to him was making sure she read the books he had given to her. But her excessive sighing was grating on his nerves terribly. "Cut it out."
"I'm sorry Law, but I just really miss Ace." Sayu groaned. She flipped a page in her book slowly. "I hate reading when I'm not interested in what I'm reading."
"Interested or not, I need you to keep up with me in battle and in surgery. You want to help me with my plans, right?" Law questioned her but he knew the answer already.
"Of course! I'd do anything to help you achieve your goals Law, you know that." Sayu twiddled with her fingers while looking a little upset. Seemed like Law was starting to think she was weak.
Law twirled his pen lazily and nodded. "Then I need you at your best and that means learning things you won't like. Understand?"
Sayu nodded stiffly. "Crystal clear, Law."
"Also, I don't want to hear anything else about that fire idiot unless it's important and useful to me." Law was still upset over Ace's declaration of love for Sayu. The man is a born idiot and actually had the balls to profess said love in front of Shanks and the rest of the Red Haired pirates.
"Understood..." Sayu closed her current book and stared at her idol. "Law, I love making you happy by doing whatever you want. But when I said I wanted to spend quality time with you, that didn't mean I wanted to be stuck here reading. I want to play a game or we can finish binge watching Shiki. We only got to episode thirteen. There's still a couple more episodes."
"We don't have time for playing, Ms. Mechanic. We've still barely covered a third of this part of the Grand Line." Law stood up and went to go sit next to his first mate.
"I know that, I do. But..." Sayu put on a sad face and Law grimaced.
Law sighed and rubbed his temples. Switching languages as he spoke to her. "Well, about the training how?"
Sayu's eyes sparkled and she chuckled lightly leaning in closer to Law. "That was good but it's suppose to go, 'Well, how about training?' You could leave out 'the'. You're really smart, Law. Your english is getting so good. Did you do that for me?"
Law shoved her face away from him playfully with a smirk and switched back to his native language. "I'm still working on it with the notes you gave me."
"I'm always up for training with you." Sayu pushed her books aside and stood up. "I need a break from these books. I don't know how you keep so much knowledge in your head. The only things I need to know about are computer and mechanical science, anymore and I feel like my head will explode."
Law moved away from Sayu and grabbed his hat and nodachi. "Well, I've been studying most of my life just like you. We just have preferences on what we wish to learn. Let's go out to the lower deck."
"Right behind you, best friend!"
Trafalgar Law
"Hah!" Sayu threw a roundhouse kick towards his head where Law blocked it easily.
"Hey now, did you change up some of your moves?" He asked her once she jumped back.
Sayu smiled and nodded to her Captain. "Yep. I tried adding in some new things. The deeper we go into the Grand Line, the stronger the enemies are going to become. Don't think I've been slacking off!" She grinned at Law and he chuckled at her optimism.
"Okay, it's showtime! Ms. Sayu!" Haken's voice rang out over the top deck where the rest of the Heart Pirates were watching their Captain and first mate spar.
Sayu blushed but played along with the cowboy. "O-Oh yes! Just watch me take the stage!" Sayu ran forward about to swing her fist towards Law who got prepared to defend himself again. "This may hurt!"
At the last second before she could touch him, Law had grabbed her fist and flipped Sayu over his shoulder and flat on the deck. "Nice try, Ms. Mechanic." Sayu was laid out on the deck on her back.
Blinking slowly to regain her thoughts Sayu groaned. "That hurt..." Sayu swiftly grabbed Law's foot from beside her and yanked him down next to her. Law fell face first into the deck.
Turning his head over to look at his first mate, he glared at her as she laughed at his scuffed up face. "Not amusing, Ms. Mechanic."
"I'm sorry, but you looked so surprised! You had your guard down and it's just funny to see something other than a smirk or pissed off face on you! I couldn't help it!" Sayu covered her mouth while giggling. Neither had even one thought to move from their spots on the deck while laying next to each other. They shared playful banter between each other.
"You're gonna get dirty, little soldier." Haken called out to the first mate.
"Leave them alone man, this is the most happiest I've seen the two since Sayu-chan's birthday." Shachi grinned as everyone thought the same while looking at the Captain and first mate.
"We all know they're at their best when they're together." Penguin said slyly. "They would make the ultimate power couple."
Ryu gagged. "As if the shrimp would even acknowledge that she has some type of feelings more than friendship towards the Captain. That girl is dumber than a brick when it comes to her own feelings."
"There are no feelings between them." Haken said with a scowl. "She could find a better person than Captain-san."
"Woah. You talking shit about the Captain, old man?" Yuri poked his elbow into Haken's stomach who then pushed the younger man away.
"I'm only twenty-seven, I'm not old bokken soldiers. You on the other hand...why don't you go and play with your stick toys somewhere?" Haken waved Yuri off, causing the gray eyed twin to grip one of his blades and glare back at Haken.
"They're not sticks!"
"They're our Shiranagi!" Yuki joined his twin in glaring at the cowboy.
"Of course, you sound like a broken record at this rate, bokken soldiers." Haken yawned and walked away from the fuming twins. "Come talk to me when you grow up some more."
"Oh my Jashin!"
Everyone looked back down towards Sayu and saw her looking over the railing of the sub. What they saw was not just some small island, it actually looked bigger than that. If anything, it look like a deserted wasteland. It appeared to have black lightning off the coast coming from giant black clouds.
"Ah." Bepo pulled out his map and looked it over. "It's our next destination...Cruxix. They call it the land of death."
Shachi and Penguin yelped and grabbed onto each other. "That's foreboding!" Shaking in their jumpsuits they stared at the island that was covered with dark ominous clouds.
"Captain, do we have to go there?! It looks so scary!" Penguin gulped at the frightening island ahead of them.
Law was standing next to Sayu, looking over at the island. "Of course we are. Don't be stupid, a little lightning is not going to hurt you."
"But Bepo said people call it the land of death!" Shachi called back to his Captain with little tears in his eyes.
"Quit being babies. We'll be there and leave once the log posts resets again." Ryu scoffed at the two engineers being childish.
"Law! I'm ready for a new adventure!" Sayu grinned at Law and he nodded back to her.
Law turned to face his crew. "You heard her, time for a new adventure."
Trinity Sayu
Landing and docking the sub on this land was difficult. The clouds had black lightning and powerful winds blowing around. Sayu herself really had to drop more than one anchor block to keep the sub from being swept away.
"It's dark...really fucking dark." Ryu commented as he stepped on the island.
"So windy!" Sayu had to hold her skirt down so it wouldn't blow and flash everyone. No one needed to see her pink panties with their jolly roger on the back part. Sayu seriously had a fetish with putting her jolly roger on all her clothing. "Cruxix huh? That's a strange name."
Law held his hat down on his head and took a quick look around. Not a single tree nor grass anywhere for quite a while he could see. More mountains then anything else was on the land in front of them. "Bepo, are there any towns or anything on this place?"
"Not that I know of. From what I've heard, a lot of ships come here...but most of them don't leave." Bepo said ominously, scaring Shachi and Penguin once again.
"Why's that, Bepo?" Yuri asked the navigator.
"Well...they say it's haunted."
"H-Haunted?" Yuki gripped his twins hand. "I don't believe in ghost...it's illogical."
Yuri nodded with his twin. "Something that I can't see or cut, doesn't exist."
"Oh...are the bokken soldiers...scared?" Haken teased the twins and they turned and frowned at him.
"We're not scared!" They both shouted.
"...Well, we're not gonna find anything just standing here." Law said and looked back to his crew. "Mr. Ryu, make a few lunchboxes and fill some flasks of water. Ms. Mechanic, will the land rover be able to traverse this place?"
Sayu shook her head. "No. Too many rocks, ditches, and mountains that I can see. It'd be quite difficult if it got stuck...I can't use the mini plane either. Too much wind will knock me off course..."
Law nodded. "Alright, guess we're walking then."
Sayu pulled her jacket sleeves a little. "It's kinda chilly...and creepy..."
Trinity Sayu
"This place is depressing...like Ryu." Sayu muttered to her friends.
"Shut up, shrimp." Ryu poked Sayu in her head.
Haken glared at the cook and then swatted his hand away. "Don't touch her, Kurokoto-san. No one knows where your hands have been."
"Haaa? I'm probably the cleanest person in this crew beside the Captain! I handle all the food after all, idiot!" Ryu bumped his head into Haken's who then pushed with his own head.
"Oh yeah? I'm the next cleanest! Look at this gorgeousness." Haken struck a smooth cool pose and a little sparkle could be seen from his smile.
"Are they really arguing over who's the cleanest?" Penguin whispered to Shachi.
Shachi nodded his head. "I feel like the older people get, the stupider they sometimes become." Both Shachi and Penguin were twenty-five, with Haken and Ryu being twenty-seven. "Of course, that won't happen to us though, Penguin." Shachi held a firm belief that he was extraordinarily smart...which wasn't true. But who had to tell him that?
"...Leaveeeeeeeee..."
"AIYAHHHHH!" A girlish scream erupted from the Heart pirates group and everyone looked back to see that it was Yuri screaming after hearing that whisper in the wind.
Haken gave Yuri a deadpan stare. "...What is wrong with you?"
Behind Yuri was Yuki who was shaking like a leaf. "D-Didn't you...h-hear that? Something just told us to leave!"
Law glanced around the desolate terrain but couldn't see anyone but his crew. "You're imagining things. Quit screwing around and hurry up."
"I heard it." Sayu announced and Law turned to her. "It may have been a ghost."
"Are you telling me, that you believe in ghosts?" He looked at her incredulously.
Sayu nodded her head with sparkles. "Oh, I believe in the paranormal alright!"
Law sighed and shook his head. "There's no such things as ghost, Ms. Mechanic." He then turned to his crew and noticed that Bepo was staring in a different direction. "What is it, Bepo?"
"Don't you see that, Captain?" Bepo pointed off to the distance. As far as the rest of the crew, no one else could see anything.
A light bulb appeared over Sayu's head. "Law, it's a scientific fact that animals are more tuned into the spiritual world than us humans are!" Sayu moved over to Bepo and stared in the direction he was pointing to. "Tell us Bepo! What is it? I'm so excited!"
"I don't want to know!" Penguin screeched.
"It's a shadow." Bepo said while looking over the figure that no one but he was able to see.
"A specter?!" Sayu's eyes sparkled and she tried really hard to see what Bepo was seeing. "I can't see anything!"
"It's charging."
"WHAT?!" Shachi jumped and ran behind Law, hoping his Captain could protect him from the unseen figure.
"It's here." Bepo said just as multiple black lightning strikes started appearing around the Heart pirates and the wind kicked up even harder.
Law looked around with a guarded expression but still couldn't see the figure that only Bepo could see. "Bepo, where is it?!"
"...Leaveeeeee..."
"Aiyahhh!" Yuri let out another girlish scream and joined Shachi in hiding behind his Captain.
"Nii-san!" Yuki gripped his brother's shirt and hid his face in the back. "G-G-Ghost!"
"I don't think I'm equipped for ghost hunting..." Haken said while looking over his gear.
"Ryu!" Bepo called out to the cook but it was too late.
"What?!" An invisible force had grabbed Ryu by his hair and was dragging him away from the others. "Agh! Let go!" Ryu lashed out with his chains but couldn't hit anything as he couldn't see what was dragging him. "Don't just stand there! Help me, you idiots! My hair!"
Sayu ran over to Ryu and grabbed him by his trench coat, having a tug of war with the suppose ghostie. "You can't have my cook, Mr. Ghost!" Sayu was pulling with all her strength and Ryu was groaning as his roots kept getting pulled. "I'm not equipped for this either!"
"Haiyah!" Bepo launched himself at the black mass that was holding his crew mate, but Bepo's body went right through it.
"Bepo! You can't hit ghost! They're tangible!" Sayu shouted over the howling wind that seemed to get stronger. "Ah, I'm loosing grip!" Ryu's coat was just about to slip from Sayu's hands.
"Room!" Law tossed out his room and teleported next to Ryu. With one raise of his sword, Law had cut off an inch of Ryu's hair that was being pulled. Ryu's body dropped to the rocks with a thud.
Ryu sat up quickly and grabbed his hair. "Noooo! My hair!"
"It'll grow back, Kurokoto-san...jeez..." Haken said while he moved next to the cook. "It's not even a lot."
"Everyone, get a hold of yourselves!" Law ordered his crew as half of them were blubbering messes with tears.
"That was so scary! I want to go back to the ship!" Penguin wailed. He was shaking in fear.
"I-I-I can't cut something that I can't see!" Yuri was probably the most scared of everyone. Looks like they found his weakness. Yuri is scared of the paranormal.
Sayu dropped to her knees and pulled off her backpack. "I'm not ready to go on a ghost hunt!" She started to rummage through her bag and pulled out a handful of necklaces. "Here! Wear these! They're Jashin-sama's pendants! Jashin-sama will protect everyone I deem worthy!"
Law groaned and had to wonder about Sayu's mentality. "Ghost aren't real!" He shouted at her.
"Then what the hell was that?! Poor Ryu just lost some of his beautiful hair to that ghost!" Sayu then pulled out a book, a glass tincture of water, and a black robe.
"What are you doing Sayu?" Shachi asked the first mate with tears in his eyes.
"This is the book of Jashin-sama's teachings! This is the water, blessed by Jashin-sama himself! And this is the robe of protection! Also blessed by the great Jashin-sama! I'm about to exorcist the shit outta this ghost!" Sayu struggled to put the robe on without tearing it.
"And why are you carrying those around?" Haken questioned her.
"You never know what you'll need on a island that's supposedly haunted!" After putting on the robe, she tossed her bag to Bepo. "Hold that for me, will you?" Sayu grabbed her book and water and stood up with a brave face.
"Sayu...is your religion...even a real one?" Yuki asked her with Yuri nodding along and she glared at the twins.
"Of course Jashinism is real! Filthy non believing heathens!" Sayu spat at the twins. With a flourish, Sayu had flipped open her book...that she made herself...and began to open the water. "Everyone, the only way to make this island peaceful again is to help this poor trapped soul pass on to the afterlife!"
"Are you serious right now?!" Ryu screeched at the mechanic. "You're no priest you idiot!"
"Don't call her an idiot!" Haken yelled at the cook.
Sayu smirked and chuckled darkly. "No, I'm not a priest...but I am a devoted servant to Jashin-sama. Nothing to worry about!"
"It's coming back!" Bepo shouted over to his crew.
"Bepo, where is it coming from?!" Sayu asked as the area around them seem to get the darkest it's been since they arrived on the island.
"Ah! It's heading towards Haken, from the south!" Bepo pointed towards the cowboy.
"Ha?" Haken prepared himself and held up one of his playing cards.
Sayu appeared in front of Haken and threw her water from where she could hopefully guess where the unseen spirit was. She started chanting while holding out her pendent and water towards the ghost. "Go back to from whence you came from you fucking bastard! Jashin-sama fucking demands it!" The water seemed to hit something as a curdling scream erupted all around them.
"IT'S REAL!" Shachi and Penguin clutched to each other.
"Is your exorcism just you shouting profanities at it and tossing your water?!" Ryu questioned the girl as he saw smoke coming from an anomaly in front of her.
Sayu smirked. "Jashinism is just that! Curse words and blatant strength of will!" Tossing more water in the air, and it landing on the spirit, Sayu continued her chant. "Begone you evil fucking heathen! In the name of Jashin-sama, I demand you to pass the fuck on!"
Law couldn't believe his eyes. His first mate was...what was it that she was exactly doing? Battling a so called ghost with water and a book. Law's eye twitched in annoyance. This was the stupidest thing his crew has dealt with so far. How other pirates couldn't stand up to a so called ghost was beyond him. What he was watching was just stupid in his mind. Law could see the black smoke coming from...the specter as the water hit it. And Sayu was still shouting like a born sailor at it.
"Ah! It's getting smaller!" Bepo said and the twins then started to cheer Sayu on.
"You can do it, Sayu!" Yuki called out to the first mate.
"Keep going, Sayu!" Yuri pumped his fist in the air. "Send that ghost packing!"
"Sayu-chan! Sayu-chan! Sayu-chan!" Shachi and Penguin cheered for the first mate.
Sayu tossed her empty water tincture to the ground and read from her book. "In all that is great for Jashin-sama, your evil presence is unwanted! Perish you fucking heathen!" Another blood curdling scream seemed to resonate in the air. "Pass the fuck on!" Sayu threw her Jashin pendent at the specter and it connected with the black mass that everyone could now see. The ghost was forming into what looked like a person. A male at that with hollow eyes and white clothing. "In the name of Jashin-sama! Tell me your name, you fucking heathen!"
"Why is she asking for it's name?!" Ryu questioned.
Sayu glanced at the cook. "When you know the ghosts name, you have some sort of power over it! It'll help to get it to move on!" Turning back to the evil ghost, Sayu pulled out another pendent from her robe.
"How many of those do you have?!" Shachi asked with his eyes bugging out.
"Enough so I can do my daily prayers to Jashin-sama!" Holding out the pendent, she marched closer to the ghost. "In the glorious name of Jashin-sama, I demand for your damn fucking name!"
"...Grantttttt..."
"IT SPOKE!" Everyone shouted.
Law was done with this stupid adventure and his stupid crew. Grabbing Sayu's bag from Bepo, Law stalked off back towards the sub.
"Ah, Captain! Wait for me!" Bepo followed back after Law leaving the others to the exorcism of Grant the ghost.
"Oh hohohoho...now I have your name, spirit!" Sayu kissed her pendent and then slammed it into the spirit. "Grant! I demand you, in the wonderful name of Jashin-sama, to move the fuck on! Let go of your fucking anger and fucking move your ass onto the next life!"
Trafalgar Law
Law was in the sub kitchen making himself a cup of coffee with Bepo sitting at the table and looking over his maps.
"Bepo, when do you think the log post will reset?" Law asked his navigator while sitting down next to him. "Frankly, I'm tired of these small adventures. I'm hoping the next place we arrive at will be a bit more of a journey to it."
"Ah, I agree Captain. But about the log post, there's no way to tell. The island was deserted so we couldn't find out. We'll probably just have to wait it out." Bepo took a sip from his water. "Are we just going to wait for them to get back?"
"I couldn't deal with that any longer. We'll wait for them to return."
Bepo was quiet for a moment before he spoke up again. "...Are we going to talk about what happened?"
"No Bepo, we aren't." Law sipped on his black coffee. He refused to even acknowledge what had happened on the island. He firmly denies the existence of...ghosts. Whatever that was on that black spit of land, he'll let his first mate finish taking care of it. "How far are we from the New World?"
"Ummm...there's about six more islands we need to hit before we finally arrive at Sabaody Archipelago, then the New World. It'll take a few months at the most, I would say." Bepo said and Law nodded.
"To be expected, we've been at sea for almost half a year now. Time flies, doesn't it, Bepo?"
Bepo looked over at his Captain. "Has it really been that long? Wow..."
Trinity Sayu
"Begone you fucking heathen!" Sayu swung her pendent towards Grant the Ghost and with one last chant... "Pass on to the afterlife now, dammit!" Grant's specter had disappeared into thin air with a ghostly wail. Everything was completely silent as the clouds cleared and all the lightning had finally stopped. Sayu looked up at the rays of sun and nodded. "The deed...has been done."
"YATTA!" The twins, Shachi and Penguin all ran to Sayu and hugged her.
"You did it, Sayu-chan!" Penguin hugged her tightly and the others were praising her with joy.
"I can say, I've seen just about everything now." Ryu muttered while trying to fix his hair.
Haken rubbed Sayu's head. "Good job, little soldier. I never doubted you either way."
"Jashin-sama would always prevail. Don't thank me, thank Jashin-sama!" Sayu crouched down to her knees and placed her hands together in prayer with her pendent. "Thank you for the blood bath you give us on a daily basis, Jashin-sama. I swear to offer you more marine sacrifices when I can. And thank you for helping me pass on this heathen to the next life." Sayu nodded her head and stood up. She took off her robe and folded it. "Well, this small adventure on this stupid ass island is over. I can't deal with being on this island any longer. Let's get back to the sub, everyone!"
"Yosh!"
