He was too perfect to make my own character. Just saying that I don't own him.
Trinity Sayu
"Uh!" Sayu tripped in the snow causing Law to fall off and land on the ground next to her. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fist with cold tears threatening to fall. This isn't the time to be a crybaby, she knew that. Glancing over to Law's body Sayu held back her worries. He was still out and didn't seem to be waking up anytime soon. Slowly crawling over to his body, she touched his cheek gently. He wasn't moving his body so even though he had a coat on, his body was getting colder by the minute without movement. Sayu took off her own coat and layered Law with it.
Looking off to the side, the caves were just a few meters ahead of them. She needed to get him inside and start a fire as soon as possible. Looking back down to her broken leg, she gritted her teeth in pain but knew what she had to do. Law taught her well when it came to the body. She sat up and took her pistol out. Gritting the handle in between her teeth, Sayu grabbed her leg carefully. On the count of three...one...two...who wait's for three when pain is inevitable?
SNAP!
"Mmph!" Sayu took a heavy breath after she settled her leg and painful tears fell from her eyes. Rummaging in her bag, she took out her tiny first aid kit. Opening it up, she pulled out a syringe of three hundred milligrams of morphine. It's over the top but she'll need it now. Without worry, she flipped the cap off and stabbed it into her injured leg. Packing her things away, Sayu laid down next to Law and waited for the morphine to kick in.
It was quiet around the two, the only sound the occasional snow falling from trees and the wind blowing heavily. Sayu glanced at her Captains face and noticed his lips were a little blue making her frown. "I don't know if you can hear me, Law...but I could never let you die instead of me. So don't worry...we'll make it through this." Once the morphine kicked in, Sayu slowly stood up and grabbed Law again and placed him on her back again. Dragging her tired body and injured leg behind her the movement was slow. Sayu's cheeks and nose were red from the cold and her body was starting to hurt even more. "I'm going to make...the b-best fire ever...and then I'll fix y-you right up...I promise." Her teeth chattered, honestly they felt like they were going to fall out. It has to be at least twenty below celsius. Not good for us at all. What is that in fahrenheit again...? Like...negative four or something, right?
Sayu let out a shaky sigh and continued towards the caves.
Shachi
"So what do we do? I know we said we'd be his wing men but...this is just plain awkward..." Shachi looked over to the navigator that was stalking a bear. But not just any bear...they had actually found a female bear! Who would've thought?! But...what do they do now?
"Umm...Bepo...I don't think anything is going to happen if you just stare at her..." Penguin patted Bepo's shoulder.
Bepo gulped and looked nervous. "What do I say to her? What if I mess up?"
Both engineers gave Bepo a nervous smile. Shachi rubbed his head and looked back to the female polar bear that was catching fish in the river with its head. "Uh...I'm pretty sure she's a bear of few words anyhow."
"Meaning she can't speak human like you do. She isn't intelligent like you, Bepo. But if that's your taste, who are we to stop you?" Penguin then gave Bepo two thumbs up. "Go get her, man!"
Bepo nodded his head and wiped off his jumpsuit and tried to make himself look good. Licking his paws he patted his fur down on his head. Shachi and Penguin nearly lost their composure. "Okay...here I go...wish me luck."
Shachi rubbed his eyes of mock tears. "They grow up so fast."
Penguin chuckled. "Yep. I just hope this won't take long. I want to get back before that blizzard hits." Penguin looked off towards the mountains where the dark clouds were hanging around. They were in Furagisa and really nothing noticeable stuck out to them when Bepo had spotted the female bear. I mean there were a few huts and such but it looked deserted more than anything.
As Shachi and Penguin were discussing things, and Bepo trying to communicate with the female bear, they were unaware of the eyes watching them discreetly from the huts. Bepo being the more sensitive of the crew had smelled it before the bomb landed in front of the engineers. Forgetting all about the bear he was trying to talk to, he turned back to Shachi and Penguin. "Move!"
Shachi and Penguin back flipped just as a bomb exploded in their previous area. Bepo ran back to his friends and looked them over as they both landed with guarded expressions. "What the hell?!" Shachi shouted as numerous men came out of the huts in the one spot they were clustered at.
"You're from Kurayuki aren't you?! Here to try and stop our resurrection again?!" One bandit shouted at the pirates.
"Resurrection? What are you talking about?! We were just passing through!" Penguin defended his friends but they were surrounded by the bandits.
"Bring out the beast!"
Suddenly, tremors were felt and out from the forest came a mammoth that walked on it's hind legs and was held by chains with some bandits holding those chains.
Bepo looked at the beast and stepped back. "It's huge..." It towered over the pirates by a good fifteen feet or so. "This is the beast that was heard about..." Shachi and Penguin were shaking but held firm. Bepo looked around and knew they couldn't escape without fighting.
Purpurpurpur...
Shachi's den den mushi rang and he cursed but answered it while keeping his eyes trained around them.
"Oi, idiots!" Ryu's voice rang out from the den den mushi.
"Now is not a good time, Ryu!" Shachi shouted.
"Good time or not, you need to hear this! I can't get in touch with the Captain or shrimp! This island is going to be at war if we don't do something! Some of the late queens followers are still alive and they're trying to bring back their queen and are going to use Sayu if they find her as their last sacrifice! We need to get the Captain and shrimp and leave!"
"What?!" Penguin took a stance as some of the bandits charged at them. Penguin grabbed one bandit's arm and swung him around tossing him into another bandit.
Shachi dropped his den den mushi to avoid a blade going for his neck. He lashed out with a foot and it connected in the head with the bandit that tried to cut him.
"What's going on?!"
"We're a little busy!" Shachi shouted as he punched one guys face in.
Just then the beast was released and let out an inhuman roar and charged at the pirates on all fours.
"What the hell was that?! Oi, idiots?! Bepo?!"
"Aiya!" Bepo jumped into the air and rammed his foot hard into the beast's head, knocking him over.
Shachi and Penguin's eyes bugged out. "How are you that strong, Bepo?!"
"The Captain and Sayu have been training me! But that's not enough!" Bepo landed on his feet and looked back at the beast that was getting back up with a rabid look in its eyes. It was pissed.
Penguin dodged a bullet and charged at another bandit. "Get back!" Penguin swung his leg and knocked the guy over.
"Who are these guys? They're not normal!" A bandit shouted while shaking.
Shachi glared at the bandits. "We're not pushovers! We're the Heart Pirates!"
"It's coming back, get ready!" Bepo raised his paws and shifted his stance as the beast made another charge, this time swinging it's sharp tusks in rapid motion. Just as it got close, Bepo grabbed one of it's tusk and was shoved back from the sheer strength of it. But Bepo stood his ground and held firm to the tusk.
"Bepo!" Shachi called for his friend.
Bepo grunted and then dragged the tusk and grappled it and the mammoth to the ground. "Haaaa!" Holding onto the tusk, Bepo stomped his foot repeatedly into the mammoth's face.
"Ah, Bepo, get back!" Penguin warned the navigator as the beast raised it's head, bringing Bepo and swung it's head, smashing Bepo into the ground next to it. "Bepo!"
Bepo lost his breath as he was slammed into the snow. The beast stood up and was about to crush Bepo when both Shachi and Penguin jumped up and kicked into it's face in with as much strength as they could. "LAY OFF OUR FRIEND!" They shouted and the beast was knocked over once more.
Shachi and Penguin helped Bepo up and then all three took off running, leaving the den den mushi on the ground behind them.
Haken
"Thanks for the information." Haken waved to the old man he was speaking to and then made his way back to the land rover where the twins were waiting.
"So what'd you learn?" Yuri asked him as Haken got back into the front seat.
"Monama isn't anything special like we assumed. So hopefully the sento soldiers and Kumo-kun got all the supplies we would need back in Kurayuki." Haken buckled his seat belt and started the little car. "He did warn me about some unruly people though."
"Unruly people?" Yuri gave the cowboy a look to explain further.
"Yep. Apparently Kurayuki and Monama have been having conflicts with some of the late queens followers. I guess this place had a queen and some of her loyal subjects are trying to bring her back or something. Nothing for us to worry about though. It's not our business on what happens to this place." Haken drove down the path, going further into Monama.
Yuki scoffed and looked away. "That's messed up. The dead should stay dead."
As soon as the rover started to move, Yuri sank back in his seat with a green face again. "I can't take this anymore..."
Haken chuckled and patted the steering wheel gently. "Well, we've got about three days to kill. I say we kick it here in Monama. Kurokoto-san made enough bentos for us so we'll be good on food. And it looks like that blizzard isn't heading in this direction so that good for us."
"I hope the Captain and Sayu are good. That blizzard is right over the mountains where they were going." Yuri looked off towards the mountain region.
"They'll be fine. They're both resourceful, and we couldn't have asked for a better Captain and first mate then those two." Haken thought about his cute little soldier and smiled to himself. "They'll be just fine."
Purupurpurpurpurp...
Yuri answered Yuki's den den mushi as he couldn't even move while in the vehicle. "Yuri here."
"You guys need to go to the mountain region and look for the Captain and shrimp!" Ryu's voice sounded worried over the snail.
Haken braked the car and both twins were jerked forward from the sudden stop. At least they wore seat belts. "What are you talking about Kurokoto-san? Explain!"
"These bandits are going to sacrifice Sayu if we don't get to her and the Captain in time! They're trying to bring back their queen and are going to kill Sayu for her blood! I called Bepo and the idiots but they're stuck in Furagisa dealing with a faction of the late queens followers!"
"WHAT?!" All three pirates looked at each other with nervous looks. The land rover won't make it through the bustle of trees in the forest to the mountains. And not only that, it's getting dark and a blizzard was on the way. It'll take them at least half a day to get back to Kurayuki and then more then half a day to get through the forest on foot.
Trafalgar Law
Law's eyes opened up slowly. His entire body was sore like he got rammed by a warship or something. It was dark around him except for the small fire that was crackling. He sat up slowly and the coat that was covering him slid off him. He looked around and saw that he was in a cave...and alone. Law quickly focused his eyes to the dark but couldn't see Sayu. Did that giant take her?!
"You're awake...thank Jashin."
Law looked up and saw Sayu limping back into the cave with sticks in her arms. He studied her carefully and she looked worse for wear. A bruised eye, cut lip, and obviously her leg was messed up. But what caught his attention even more was her hair. It was cut short and choppy, right up to her chin. "Sayu..."
Sayu made her way over to Law and dropped the sticks and then sat down with a wince. She looked over at Law and smiled weakly. "Hey...can I have my coat back? There's a blizzard outside and it's really cold."
Law just continued to stare at her. "Sayu...your hair..."
Sayu chuckled nervously and grabbed her coat from him. "Ah...well, you know. It's just hair...and you were more important. I mean it's not like it won't grow back. Uh, yeah. I mean mother loved it and everything but it's okay. There's not much I won't do for you." She played with her fingers.
"Sayu."
"Ah, um, we'll probably be stuck here till the blizzard is gone. It's no worry, we have some bentos. Oh um...it's really dark and we shouldn't go out. I mean those guys could be looking for us. My leg is pretty messed up but I did what I could." Sayu lowered her head to the ground avoiding eye contact.
"Sayu."
"That guy hit you pretty hard. You were out cold for a whole six hours. It's probably past midnight now. Oh, um...our den den mushi got destroyed...that poor snail you know. Hehehe...also-"
"Sayu, you're rambling again." Law interrupted her.
Sayu got quiet and touched her hair gently. "...It's okay...really...I'm fine."
Law put a hand on her shoulder gently. "Sayu-"
"I said I'm fine! It's just stupid hair!" Sayu shouted over the roaring winds outside their cave. Everything was wearing off now. The adrenaline...the morphine...the survival instincts and it all came crashing down as soon as Law looked at her with his yellow smokey eyes. "I can grow it back...I can...it won't be like before but...but..." Sayu choked as she now realized she cut the last physical trait she had of her mother left. "I'm okay...I'm just fine..."
Law understood she was trying to be brave. Even though she aged recently she still has child like moments and this is one of those. A child who lost the last connection that she had with her mother. "Sayu..." Law gently put her head into his chest and rubbed her head. Sayu looked like Shanks in features but the one thing that remained of her mother was their long hair that they shared and the stupid smile she would usually have.
Sayu gripped Law's coat with her hands and then broke down. "I'm so sorry! He was going to kill you! I had to do something! I wasn't going to lose you again! I wasn't! I had to cut it! I know I said nothing would ever make me cut it, but then he was going to crush you...I couldn't let you die! I can't even tell my mother I'm sorry for cutting it!" Law's coat was getting wet from her tears as she sobbed into his coat.
It really hurt Law to see her like this. He was suppose to protect her from things like this but the world is harsh and there's only so much he could do. Especially when he got knocked out cold. "I'm sorry, Sayu."
Sayu sniffled and pulled away from him. "...I got snot on your coat..."
Law chuckled and wiped her tears gently. "It's fine. I have two more of these, remember? Now...can you give me a proper report now that you've let it all out?"
She nodded and rubbed her eyes. "After you got knocked out, he was going to kill you. I cut...my hair...to free myself and he dropped me. I broke my leg on impact instantly, but grabbed my sniper and shot him and he went down. Then I carried you through the snow to these caves. It took about two or three hours...you were sleeping the whole time."
"Show me your leg." Law ordered her and she nodded.
Lifting up her pants leg carefully, she showed him her leg. It was yellowish with purple and blue splotches everywhere. "I set it back as best I could and then doped up on morphine. It's wearing off now though."
Law examined her leg and gently felt around it. "Glad you set it back. It wouldn't have been able to heal properly if you didn't do that soon. Good thinking."
Sayu gave him a tired smile. "You taught me well."
"Indeed I did." Law grabbed her backpack and pulled out the first aid kit. "I don't know how you carry this heavy thing everywhere. It's got everything in it..." Pulling out some bandages and a vial of morphine, Law began to wrap her leg up.
"Not everything. I left all of my guns except the sniper rifle. The rest is our med kits and bentos that Ryu made. And I've been lifting heavy things all my life. It's no issue..." Sayu watched him as he worked on her leg.
"The issue here is...you can't move that leg much more. You already put a strain on it, I can tell. From carrying me and all our gear." Law injected the morphine into her leg and Sayu sighed with relief.
"Are we stuck out here? Those guys could come back at anytime..." Sayu questioned him and Law thought over options in his head.
Depending on how long this blizzard would last is a factor. He doesn't want to move Sayu if he can avoid it too. He can't contact his crew either. They're definitely stuck here for a while. Law rubbed Sayu's head once he finished wrapping up her leg. "Let me worry about this for now. Get some sleep okay?"
Sayu trusted Law and nodded her head. She then smiled cheekily at him. "Can I have the honor of using my best friend's lap as a pillow?"
Law nodded his head and looked away with a red tint as she put her head on his lap. Sayu fell asleep in moments and Law relaxed before closing his eyes as well.
What they didn't know was that the leader of the late queens followers was on the hunt out in the snow. And blood will be shed when he finds them.
A man with a raven mask was looking through the blizzard with glowing red eyes. "When we meet...I will slatra..."
Ryu
It was well into the night while Ryu was still trying to get a hold of the Captain.
"Commoner, I don't know if this is a good time or not but...I'd like to propose something." Adit spoke to Ryu while they were in the control room of the sub, riding out the blizzard.
"If it isn't a good idea, keep your fucking mouth shut." Ryu glared at Adit with a tired look.
"My people have wronged this land. I wish to make up for it." Adit's whiskers twitched as he thought over what he wanted to do.
Ryu scoffed and turned to give him his attention. "And what do you want to do to help these guys?"
"...I will be the new king of Shirohana."
Ryu blinked once...and then twice. "What? Are you serious?"
Adit nodded. "I propose we take that flying contraption that you have and go to the old palace and rid this land of the late queens remaining forces. I will then take the throne and prove to the other commoners that I will be a kind and giving King. I will require your help though."
Ryu fell into a chair, overwhelmed with this guys stupidity. "Do you really think that could be accomplished in a day? You're insane to think that you would make a good King."
"But I wish to try! These people are suffering and I will be the one to guide them and restore Shirohana to it's previous glory days! This is what I want to do, commoner! And we can take out the people trying to capture the pretty red haired commoner as well!"
"You mean me. I can take out the people trying to take the shrimp. You on the other hand can go hide and cower like the mouse you are. And even if we do that, I can't fly that thing! Only the shrimp and maybe Haken can." Ryu put his head in his head and shook it. "Too risky..."
"Then we need a plan! Contact the cowboy commoner and tell him to meet at the base of the mountain. He and the twins shall climb the pathway to the mountain and will arrive at the palace. You and I shall take the flying one and head to the palace where you will decimate their entire forces. I have complete faith in you, commoner." Adit grinned and nodded his head. His plan was fool proof to his ears.
Ryu groaned and thought this idea over in his head. If Haken and the twins go to the mountain base with the rover, they could find the Captain and shrimp. Ryu could try and attempt to fly Sayu's mini airplane. But Ryu and technology just don't go well together...but...if they do this, then Adit will be out of their hair too and then nothing to worry about with the queens followers. Once Ryu claims all their lives of course. Ryu stood up and walked around Adit. "Let's get some sleep and I'll think it over while sleeping."
Trafalgar Law
Law opened his eyes slowly as he heard rustling outside the cave. It was still dark, but he could vaguely see a small amount of light outside. Law gently moved Sayu's head off his lap and placed her head on her backpack. Quietly standing up, Law grabbed his sword and made his way to the edge of the cave. Law looked around slowly.
"...You have the girl, yes?"
Law looked to his right to see someone in all white camo with a mask like a raven on his face. He carried hatchets on each side of him and stood with confidence. His eyes underneath his mask seem to glow eerily red. Law stared at the man with a calculative look. "...What girl?" He couldn't let the man know that Sayu was just inside the cave.
"You shouldn't lie. I've been following your tracks since yesterday. No one can hide from me..." His eyes glowed bright red. "I know who you are as well...Surgeon of Death."
Law narrowed his eyes. "You know me, yet I don't know you. Care to enlighten me?"
The unknown assailant let out a whistle. From around them, white wolves came out from the trees, quite a number of them as well all growling and snarling at Law. "You may call me Blothhundr. A descendant of Queen Shiro's right hand man...my father. You can hand over the girl and you may walk away with your honor and life."
Law raised his sword in a defensive position and prepared himself. "Sorry, but I can't let you pass."
Blothhundr sighed and grabbed one of his hatchets before tossing it up in the air and catching it flawlessly. "Very well...the hunt begins...I will slatra." At that, the wolves charged at Law.
Law opened his palm. "Room." Law's room expanded and in one strong swing, Law cut down all the wolves that tried to attack him. "You won't be touching Sayu." Law glared at the man.
"...You don't understand. I was raised to serve Queen Shiro once she was revived. Me and my felagi fighters were all raised the same way. If we don't have our Queen, then what is our purpose? With her resurrection, everything will be as it should." Blothhundr raised his hatchet again and more wolves came out snarling. "Queen Shiro..." His eyes brightened with red. "Bless me with sight!" He charged at Law and swung his hatchet down upon Law's head.
Law blocked the weapon with his sword and held firm. "What ability do you have? Your eyes are heavy with blood and wisdom."
"The torakku torakku fruit was my sin to eat." The raven masked man grabbed his other hatchet and swung it into Law's stomach.
Law jumped back before it could cut him. "Room!"
"Not today!" Blothhundr threw his hatchet with extreme accuracy and speed that Law had to drop his hand before he lost it.
"Tch!" Law looked back to see the wolves were closing in on the cave. "No!"
Blothhundr had moved quickly towards Law and raised his other hatchet, bringing it down on Law's back, leaving a deep gash. Law rolled forward and grimaced. It cut deep, he could tell. "The hungry wolf always taka the vinna, remember that."
Law looked back and his eyes widened. "Sayu!"
"Get off!" Sayu screamed as she was dragged out by wolves biting into her clothes.
Law tossed his hat up into the air and then held his hand out. "Room!" His room expanded to cover himself and Sayu. "Shambles!" Law's hat was switched with Sayu and she fell into this open arms.
"Law! You're hurt!" Sayu saw his wounded back and looked at Law with worry. A shot rang out and Law fell to the ground with Sayu in his arms.
Blothhundr had shot Law in his leg with a pistol. "...I will shed bloth and honor Queen Shiro." Raising his hatchet, he threw it at Law and it landed in his back right in the open wound.
"AGH!"
Sayu was trapped underneath Law and was shaking with fear. "Law! Stop protecting me! Please! Don't die because of me!"
Law shook his head with sweat rolling down his face. "Idiot! Just let me do my job! I'm suppose to protect you!" Law reached back and pulled out the hatchet with force, causing blood to spray over both of them. The wolves surrounded the two with hungry looks and snarls.
Blothhundr walked over to the two and looked down at them. His eyes piercing into Sayu's as she gazed up at him with fear. He kicked Law off of her and then grabbed her. Law groaned in pain but sat up on his knees. "Don't take her!"
The wolves stalked forward towards Law with the intent to kill him. Blothhundr's voice stopped the wolves from going closer. "My brethren, leave him be." He put Sayu over his shoulder and turned around to walk away.
Law tried to get up but his leg and back were heavily wounded and he fell to the ground. "Sayu!"
Sayu looked back at Law with a sad look but gave him a smile. "It's okay...just please...don't move. You're bleeding too heavily..."
Blothhundr took one last look at Law. "On the full moon, the bloth will be shed. You have two days, we await at Queen Shiro's palace. Find me...and we will battle." With that, he disappeared into the blizzard with Sayu and the wolves following.
Law clenched his fist and then slammed it into the snow. He had lost Sayu again and this time...her death was eminent if they didn't find her in time. Law's vision got blurry from the blood lost but he picked himself up painfully and dragged himself back into the cave. He needed to patch up his wounds before going after the masked man and Sayu.
