Chapter 27

Morning came in the blink of an eye. Levy's tears had dried up hours ago. Now she sat on her knees with her head laying on Keitaro's bed, holding his stuffed dragon, and pleading with God to bring her son home safely. She was angry with herself. She was scared for her son. She felt numb to everything.

Wendy still hasn't woke up, so any hint as to who did this is still a mystery. Lucy came and got her from the police station and is waiting on any call from either Natsu, Gajeel, or the police. So far the police have no leads. No suspects. Nothing in regards to finding her baby. She wasn't dumb. Everyone knows that after someone goes missing, you usually have about twenty-four hours to find them alive. They had to find him. They would find him.

Levy finally let her eyes close and she slipped into dreamland.

Gajeel punched the wall again. His knuckles were already torn open and bleeding. He had searched and questioned everyone he could think of. No one has heard or seen anything.

How could a little boy disappear without a trace? How could no one know what happened? If only that stupid party hadn't happened! If only he hadn't been such an ass the day before, he and Levy wouldn't have fought and they wouldn't have gone to the damn party. Blame ate at him from the inside.

If anything happened to Keitaro, Levy would never be the same. He would never be the same. Their son was in danger. The police were apparently incompetent and were of no help. The amber alert had been sent hours ago, but no information has been brought forth.

He was out there somewhere. He would be found. Gajeel would not give up until Keitaro was home in his and Levy's arms. And when he got home, they would never let him go again.

In the silence, as Gajeel's head rested against the cold bricks of the dorm building, his phone rang. Without checking the I.D. he answered. "Any news?"

"Wendy's awake. Well, barely. She was mumbling something about her head stinging. The doctors gave her some pain medication and are running tests before they allow anyone to question her." Natsu yawned over the phone.

"Thanks, salamander. Get some rest. Let me know if you find out more." He hung up the phone and sighed.

At least Wendy was waking up. Maybe soon she could tell everyone what happened. Time was running out. Keitaro needed him. He wouldn't fail him like he did Rogue.

His head snapped up and he called Natsu back. "Hello?"

"What exactly did Wendy say when she woke up?"

"Why?"

"What did she say?" Gajeel demanded.

"She said 'Stings. Oh, my head. Stings'."

"Thanks." He hung up and headed straight towards Sabertooth's dorm.
