~Chapter 7~
Hello everyone! I know I told you all that I was going to be posting more often, and then I fell of the face of the Earth and didn't write anything for like two freakin' years. BUT DON'T WORRY! I have begun writing new chapters for this story, but I can't promise anything for my other works. So far, I've completed chapters 7-10, but they are all wayyy longer than this one! I hope you all can forgive me for not updating, but I do try to write when I have a bit of free time or come up with new ideas and scenarios. Please feel free to send me your ideas for what you would like to happen to Naruto and Kakashi! ALL IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED! Disclaimer: none of the characters belong to me, but to the creators of Naruto. Thank you for your continued support!
Faint streaks of light peeked through the curtains of Naruto's bedroom, the signs of early morning. Slowly, he began to wake up, rubbing his eyes as he sat up in his bed, the blankets a mess, but his room was otherwise very tidy.
Ever since he had taken in Kakashi, Naruto had become more aware of the need for keeping a clean house, especially with a baby around. Although Kakashi himself was quite large, and not actually a baby, he still had been able to regress into a childlike state, varying from a newborn to a young toddler. Naruto smiled at the thought of Kakashi. "For being so upset at being treated like a baby in the beginning, Kakashi sure did take a liking to it." Naruto thought as he stretched and stood up, his feet pattering along the wooden floors.
After getting dressed, he decided to go ahead and start breakfast for both himself and the little one, still keeping the baby monitor close by in order to hear when Kakashi woke up. As soon as he began to take out the necessary ingredients, he heard a brief knock at the front door. "Coming!" Naruto said, loud enough for whoever was knocking to hear, but soft enough to not wake the baby up. He soon went to the door, opening it only to find a letter placed on the mat outside of his door. After picking it up, Naruto noticed the signature of Lady Hokage in the corner of the envelope. "Huh, that's weird, Tsunade usually sends someone to deliver a message instead of sending letters.", Naruto mumbled as he tore the top of the envelope open and pulled out the brief note, Come see me as soon as you can. In private. -Tsunade, the note said.
Naruto soon put the letter down and contemplated on what to do about Kakashi. "It says in private, so no Kakashi, but I don't know how long this could take and the baby should be waking up any minute now. I don't need another incident of Kakashi getting a rash because of my carelessness", Naruto thought as he slowly began to pace around the kitchen," Maybe I should just change him right now, but that'll just wake him up and then I really can't leave. What about calling Guy to watch after him for a bit! No, then he'll just be embarrassed, and I definitely don't want him to feel so self-conscious about himself. It was hard enough to get Kakashi to open up to the owner of Ichiraku, but even then I could tell he was still painfully tense and uncomfortable. I've spent so much time trying to let him settle and feel safe with me, that now I can't just leave him without making him cry or get separation anxiety."
Soon the baby monitor, sitting on the kitchen counter, began to pick up the soft whimpers and yawns of a recently awoken baby. Naruto quietly began to walk towards his baby's nursery, opening the door only to find Kakashi laying down on his back, pacifier bobbing up with every sleepy suck he gave it. "Hi baby, you woke up already?", Naruto softly cooed as he walked up to the teary eyed man, "What's the matter? You want some breakfast? Let's get you changed and then we'll get something to eat", he said as he scooped the big baby up and laid him down on the changing table.
Kakashi soon began to fuss and whine once he felt Naruto unbutton the footie pajamas he had on, the cold air hitting his chest. "No...no." Kakashi whined as he was changed, his cheeks turning a bright shade of pink as he felt Naruto cleaned him.
Naruto chuckled, "Why are you so red? I've cleaned you before and I've watched after dozens of babies when I was younger", he said as he taped the fresh diaper onto the fussy man. "You were my student and now you clean me and do everything for me. It's...humiliating…" Kakashi mumbled as he was changed into a soft grey onesie that said Daddy's Little Man on the front.
"Oh baby", Naruto said as he picked Kakashi up, one arm wrapped around the baby's back, while the other supported him from his bottom, "I am your Daddy, I don't care if you make a mess or fuss because that's what babies do. You may have been my teacher before, but that was a different you and a different me. Now you're my baby. My son. And I will always love you for you," Naruto said softly as he nuzzled the side of his baby's face. Kakashi couldn't help but softly giggle at Naruto's nuzzle and the quick kisses given to him all over his face.
Soon the two went over to the kitchen, Naruto shifting Kakashi onto his hip in order to make some simple oatmeal for the two. The baby simply watched as Naruto added in the oats and some cinnamon into the small pot, giving his pacifier a lazy suck or two as he laid his head down on Naruto's shoulder.
"There all done." Naruto said once he finished putting the oatmeal into the two bowls and pouring some sugar into them.
While Kakashi wasn't paying attention to him, Naruto added in some of the sedative that would help Kakashi fall and stay asleep once he ate his oatmeal. "Once he eats and falls asleep, I'll just take him with me to see Grandma Tsunade. I hope she won't get mad at me for bringing him...", Naruto thought as he took the two bowls to the table and sat down, Kakashi seated on his lap.
"Okay, time for you and me to eat."
Naruto quickly tied a bib around Kakashi's neck and began to spoon feed Kakashi the oatmeal, occasionally taking a few bites of his own breakfast. Kakashi sat quietly, opening his mouth whenever another spoonful of the sweet mush was offered to him. He was mostly focused on the unimportant mumbles of conversation that Naruto had been talking to him about. Of course, most of what he said was just about the weather or about a movie they had watched a few days ago. Sometimes Naruto would be cooing at how cute Kakashi was when he became too impatient to wait for the next spoonful of oatmeal and tried to pull Naruto's hand towards him to eat the oatmeal on the spoon. Naruto chuckled at his baby's impatience. After another few mouthfuls, both of the bowls had become empty.
Naruto wiped off the few specks of oatmeal that littered the corners of his baby's mouth using the bib as Kakashi let out a quiet yawn, his eyes tearing up at the action. "Sleepy…", Kakashi mumbled softly as he rubbed his eyes, "Alright, nap time for all the babies", The blonde sang softly as he pushed a blue pacifier into the groggy man's mouth and wrapped a thick dark green blanket loosely around him.
After a few minutes of Naruto rocking the baby back and forth, he felt the silver haired head on his shoulder become a bit heavier.
"Alright, now we can go see Grandma Tsunade", Naruto said softly as he laid Kakashi down inside his stroller.
