Anthony had been watching Gibbs go through a weird manila envelope that had been sitting on his desk for the better part of thirty minutes now. His expression showing a myriad of emotions ranging from disbelief to dangerously pissed. Which naturally had the man more than just a tad bit curious about what Gibbs was looking at.

Especially since the man was usually so calm and expressionless while at work.

Waiting until Gibbs was almost at the bosses office door, he slowly slid from his seat and began to slink that way. Intending to stand at the door and eavesdrop and see what was going on as Gibbs entered the office and shut the door.

Dropping any pretense of going elsewhere, Anthony made his way up the stairs to the office. Nearly tripping over his feet several times in an effort to get there before he missed anything big. Totally ignoring the fact that McGee had just walked in and seen him making a fool out of himself as he positioned himself so that his ear was pressed against the door.

Vaguely hearing McGee sigh as he set his jacket and brief case down in their usual spots at his desk, Anthony tried desperately to hear what was being said as he finally heard McGee ask in a slightly irritated tone, "What are you doing Dinozzo?"

"Listening."

"Listening to what?"

"Gibbs got a weird envelope- now he's talking to the boss. I want to know what was in the envelope that seemed to upset him so much."

McGee was quiet for a moment or so. But Anthony could practically feel the younger man frowning at his back before he finally asked, "Gibbs was upset?"

Anthony shushed him and turned back to the door to listen again only to find it open and Gibbs standing there giving him his most disappointed look. Anthony would like to say that he didn't scream like a little girl or anything like that- but it would be a lie.

He did. And it was mortifying.

But in his defense, Gibbs really shouldn't have been able to sneak up on him quite like that. Especially since the bosses office door had squeaky hinges.

"What do you think your doing Dinozzo?" Gibbs bit out in an angry tone.

"N-Nothing sir." Anthony squeaked as the older man slowly took a menacing step forward, towards him. Looking more and more like he wanted to toss him over the railing that was slowly pressing alarmingly against his back due to the fact that he took a step back away from his boss.

He could swear that he was nearly home free thanks to his lie when McGee decided to chime in suddenly, "Dinozzo was spying on you because you got some weird envelope."

Anthony turned his head so quickly to look at his team mate that his neck popped. Painfully. As he glared at McGee and gritted out. "Really? Tattling?"

McGee merely shrugged his shoulders despite the fact that he was watching Gibbs corner him with a somewhat carefully masked gleeful look. Anthony and that look were old friends now. He'd been on the receiving end so many times that it wasn't even funny.

So naturally he could see right through it and already knew that that look didn't bode well for him.

Slowly turning his head to glance back at Gibbs, he had to resist the urge to flinch and fling himself over the railing for the man. He. Looked. So. Pissed.

However instead of tossing him over the railing or anything else remotely violent like Anthony expected. Gibbs instead growled at him to get back to his desk...now. Causing Anthony to quickly skitter around him and run back to his desk as he'd been told while Gibbs huffed and then walked back into the office and shut the door again so that he could finish his talk with their boss.

"Everything alright?" Leon asked curiously, despite already knowing that someone on Gibb's team had likely tried to eavesdrop or something.

"Fine." Gibbs said as he returned to the chair he'd been sitting in previously. Leon simply made a humming sound since he knew that either Anthony, Abby, Ziva or McGee had probably already started their usual shenanigans. You know, spying, eavesdropping, playing pranks on one another ect...

The sort of ridiculous stuff that he'd come to expect almost daily from Gibb's team of wayward mischief makers.

"About that week off-" Gibbs started again as Leon began to collect the stuff that Gibbs had handed him just a few minutes ago.

"Say no more," Leon interrupted his friend. "I know from the looks of this letter and these documents that this is rather sudden, and has been sprung on you pretty abruptly. So I understand why you'd need some time to sort everything out. You can have your week off." Gibbs started to open his mouth to thank him, but Leon wasn't done just yet. "However I have a condition or two. The first one is that if we get a major case- you come in. If you don't have a sitter that you feel that you can trust with your girl, then bring her with you. I'd like to meet her sometimes. And if that means that I find myself with a little shadow while you work- then I'll deal."

"The second condition is if I need your help to stop your team from going A.W.O.L..." Gibbs's lips twitched a little bit in understanding since the former director of NCIS used to give him the same condition whenever he asked for time off work.

"I'll come in specifically to crack their heads together." He promised as Leon gave him a shit eating grin.

"I know you will. And the last condition for your impromptu vacation, is that you let us plan a welcoming party for your daughter. We could have a BBQ or something to welcome her to the family. After all, she's technically one of us now."

"I think I can do that." Gibbs said. "Just let me know when and where."

"Alright." Leon said as he held the envelope out to the man and waited for him to stand up and take it before tacking on, "And Gibbs," Which caused his friend to pause for a second once he had the envelope in his hand again as he said, "Congratulations on being a dad again and good luck."
