His mother scowls towards him. The Headmaster, although unaware of the dark looks being sent Hunter's way, feels the temperature and magical pressure in the room drop at the same time as Hunter's face.

"Narcissa, I understand that since you are here you would like to talk to Hunter alone but I request that you hold back until after I have spoken to the both of you. The issue at hand needs to be addressed, and by that, I mean Hunter's extreme abundance of power. I know that what happened in that classroom was not a matter of accidental magic, yet a matter of extreme emotion." Hunter had no idea how to react to the Head Master's words, they were confusing yet understandable.

Narcissa, though as stone-faced as ever, was also confused. Hunter could just tell. "Hunter has always had pristine control of his magic Headmaster, even while his temper flares, what are you bringing forth?"

"I don't doubt that Mrs Malfoy, but as Hunter grows, so does his magic. Not many face the problem of expanding magic, as it is a rare phenomenon only found in the topmost powerful in the world. So Hunter is destined to be one of, if not the most powerful wizard in the world. That is an awful lot of responsibility to place on one young boy's shoulders, especially going at it alone."

The Headmaster looked directly at Hunter when he spoke again, "I want to personally train Hunter to control and maintain his magic, but I also want to pass on some personal knowledge I have that I think could help him if he ever needs it. I will leave you to talk. Also, if young Draco wishes to be included then he is more than welcome."

He took his leave and left Hunter to his demise. Narcissa watched him the way a cheetah would watch the gazelle it was to prey on.

He was in for an utter bollocking.

"I heard, how bad?" Draco asked the first chance he saw his twin.

Hunter's shoulders dropped at his words, giving Draco the exact answer. Draco laughed. And he laughed. And he laughed. Finally, Viktor had to lift him off the ground and hold a hand over his mouth so he stopped laughing, even then he breathed in a laughing manner through his nose.

Draco looked at him, after calming down, "Did you really think our mother would let you off lightly on this one? Really Pup?"

Hunter glared deeper at him. His answer was silence.

"I take that as a yes then." Draco walked off, laughing once more.

Viktor looked between Hunter and Draco's retreating back in confusion, "Is zat vat normal siblings act like?"

"Yeah, well for Draco and I, it is I guess," Hunter answers, huffing slightly. He perked up quickly after checking the time. "Ready to get dinner?"

Viktor rolled his eyes and nodded, putting a hand on Hunter's shoulder as he directed them to the hall.

When they reached the doors he dropped his hand and walked ahead to the table they had claimed for their group that consisted of Hunter, Draco, Viktor and some of their new classmates and friends. Katie Petrova was there too, but Hunter was sure to not sit too close, she had no sense of personal space.

They enjoyed their meal together, talking about classes, everyone avoiding any topic to do with the history of magic after Draco tried to bring it up and got a roll thrown at his head with pinpoint accuracy. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed (for the most part) their first day of classes.

For the next few months, things went pretty much the same, all three boys joint the same quidditch team and have won every game so far. The Oca's are the favourites to win the shield at the end of the year, making the boys as happy as anything. Draco and Hunter both attended their private lessons with the Headmaster and progressed profoundly in their abilities. Viktor was partially told about where they went four nights a week, and they passed on everything they learnt to him.

By the time they were to return home for Christmas the three had made a strong pack, although Draco had his group of friends in his house and Hunter and Viktor had their group in Dreven. After a long talk with their parents (and a lot of begging), they had finally agreed that Vik would stay with them the last week of the holidays.

And not much changed for the next few years, Addy had her baby, a beautiful baby girl named Ianthe. A name which Viktor has a lot of trouble pronouncing. She was the first-ever baby Viktor had seen and even as she's grown into a feisty young girl he always makes time to play with her when he sees her.

Tonks had graduated from Hogwarts the year the boys went into their second year and was now working as an Auror in England but she visited when she could, which was often as Andromeda and Ted had moved into the Old Hill Estate when Ianthe was just about to turn two.

Now, years on, everything was running smoothly Hunter, Draco and Viktor's school careers were flying on nicely. Draco and Viktor's were at least. Hunter, as usual, had outburst usually resulting in multiple detentions and a review of his training schedule with the Headmaster. But by the time they reached the end of their fifth year Hunter had reined it in for the most part. Or his professors just learnt to ignore it better. Either of which he was fine with.

Some point between their third and fourth years of school a scout for the Bulgarian Quidditch Team had heard of the trio's magnificent plays. To the delight of the boys and the horror of the Malfoy family (they are obsessed enough!) they were invited to train with the team and the beginning of their fifth year marked the time they were signed as part of the official team, earning them a place in the Quidditch World Cup the summer before their sixth year.

The World Cup led the boys to bring joy upon the people of Bulgaria as the Trio goldenly won against Ireland. While playing with the team though, Hunter and Draco have to take upon the name Lupin, change their names (Draco simply modifies his to Drake and Hunter never revealed his first name), and to his dismay, a change of hair colour is required of their Dragon.

They were the terms their parent agreed to, to keep their identities safe from the British Ministry. A small riot of the old Death Eaters could have escalated but without a leader, it ended in shambles and many of them being captured by the Aurors, Tonks proudly one of them.

The boys Sixth year began with a bang as the Triwizard tournament was announced, each of them had turned seventeen that year and were elected eligible to put themselves forward for the tournament. Even with the risks of being in a castle with the man their parents had protected Hunter from all these years, they finally agreed that their boys could handle themselves perfectly, having learnt and practised each and every skill their headmaster taught them. Draco's hair caused the biggest problem. As Draco's detest for the need to change colour ran so deep, his magic wouldn't allow him to cast the spell on himself. The spell needed replenishing once a week and grew weak when he pushes himself too hard. Hunter and Viktor both had to learn appearance spells more complicated than they were used to in case of emergency.

A chilly October evening brought the day they were to leave for Hogwarts by the boat they arrived at Durmstrang on, that very first time. Every boy and every girl on the ship knew that their arrival would be impressive, what they didn't expect was the performance they had to put on for the students of Hogwarts before the feast. Hunter, Draco and Viktor were evenly spread throughout the group as they entered as to not draw attention to the Malfoy boys.

The Beauxbaton's entrance was impressive but, in Hunter's opinion, rather pompous. His face told his thoughts as Severus watched from his seat at the staff table and although rather amused at Hunter's predictability, he is worried the boy will create some enemies due to his highly competitive nature. Sev's love for both Draco and Hunter runs deep, but out of all the potential students from Durmstrang it was obvious Hunter was the most powerful Wizard there, even in that whole school, even across all schools. He had to stay aware. He had to stay safe.

At their position at the table, the three boys huddle close, talking quietly about how to avoid anyone figuring out who Hunter is.

By this point in their friendship, Viktor knows all about the famous Hunter Black from England, but similarly to Draco, he can only see him as Lupin the Quidditch star, or Hunter his best friend, or Hunter the talented musician. His friend wasn't some heroic saviour. Not for something he'd done when he was just an infant.

Viktor was invited to join their private training with the headmaster in their second year, everyone around Hunter needed to know how to keep him and themselves safe. Viktor had become a part of their mix-matched family and needed the protection as much as the other boys.

"I know it shouldn't be exciting or anything, but I get to create a whole new person for myself this year. I've got to completely change my name. I can't just go by Lupin the whole year, can I? Mother said I am not to draw any attention to myself, we're the famous Bulgarian stars with that name." Hunter whispers.

Draco looks thoughtful for a moment, "No I suppose you can't, Pup. We need to think of something quickly though. Has Hagen reminded the rest of the group to not call you Hunter yet?"

Viktor cut in, "He said to the rest this morning before ve left, everyone just thinks you vant to keep you Quidditch career a secret, and not expose your real name."

"And what of Dragon? He would draw suspicion to himself within our own school by using his Quidditch identity here, especially if I seem to be trying to hide mine," Hunter enquires, "and by you using Lupin that means I can't use Potter. The old man would remember the Marauders for sure. Father says he is a smart man."

"Maybe we should discard what mother said slightly, we-" Draco starts but gets interrupted.

Hunter will not disrespect his mother's wishes when it comes to his and his brother's lives, "Drake, we disrespect mother, and as soon as someone puts two and two together it means everything is dangerous. Quidditch, living in Bulgaria, looking the way we do. Not only that but it puts a price on our heads and everybody we care about's heads."

Draco rolls his eyes, he sees his brothers point but come on; he isn't so stupid to allow that. "Had you let me finish, dear brother, I would have explained. If we create more and more identities for you then that increases the chances of someone forgetting the lie, even yourself. And also, do you not expect Dumbledore to be expecting both the Lupin boys to be here? Especially if one of them is here? He knows that they are of age and are both highly talented if I do say so myself."

"Okay, well maybe you're right, but should I now give my Quidditch star a first name? Make it more believable?"

"That might be wise, but we should contact mother before we make any decisions. We can floo her once we are back to the boat." Draco confirms.

They enjoy the rest of their meal, sitting at the end of what they figure to be the Slytherin table, they Uncle Sev's house. They will need to be careful about how they interact with their Uncle, as confirming they know him could ruin everything.

Narcissa agrees with their plan, secretly proud of her boys for coming up with it themselves and tells Hunter that he should come up with a name that doesn't stand out, and that doesn't connect in any way to their family. They bid their mother goodnight and finish the call.

The trio is sat on the floor in Victor and Hunter's cabin on the ship, Rocco and Jack sprawled in the middle of their small circle. They had been throwing names around in an attempt to find one which suited Hunter, they had to make it believable.

"Thomas?"

"Oh, I like that name!" Hunter exclaims, "Do I look like a Thomas?"

Both of the other boys look at him closely, eyebrows furrowed, "Nah." They say together.

"Sam?" No. "Ethan?" No. "Cameron?" No.

"These names are too normal; they don't feel right. I know mother said to fit in, but if we try too hard to not be noticed, we'll do the complete opposite."

"Atticus" Draco suggests.

Hunter and Viktor look at each other quizically, their Dragon had been reading too many muggle stories.

"Drake and Atticus Lupin, I think it sounds right. Try it out, Hunter."

Hunter thinks it over, "Atticus." He tries, and then in a comical British accent "Good afternoon, my name is Atticus Theodore Lupin."

They all laugh and settle down to enjoy the rest of their evening, by the time Draco leaves for his own cabin it is past the change of day. Another day of constant vigilance awaits them in the morning.

Their morning starts slow, breakfast early and classes until late afternoon, but once that is done, they are let free to roam the grounds. Draco decided to spend the evening with his latest lady lover, Hunter has stopped keeping up with their names. Draco's flirtatious ways reel many in, but his secretive life pushes them away.

Hunter and Viktor take this as their time for peace, they take Rocco down to the edge of the lake and let him paddle in the shallows. After a while they move to sit under a large tree nearby, Rocco sleeping in the autumn sunshine.

"I'm worried Vik, being here, where I'm putting everyone I love in danger, it worries me," Hunter says quietly, Viktor is the only person he can open up to, even being as close as he is to his Dragon.

Viktor smiles at him, "You know everything ze headmaster has taught to you, ve vill all be here to keep you safe also, Atticus."

They make their way up to the Hogwarts great hall for dinner, Dumbledore was unveiling something special. Which they knew to be the Triwizard Cup and the goblet in which they will put themselves forward to be the Durmstrang Champion.

Most people are already seated, so they quickly take their seats by Draco, who is chatting to one of the Slytherin boys who is sat across from him. Hunter looks at the boy sceptically, knowing that a lot of the Slytherins come from families who followed the Dark Lord, another potential danger to Hunter are the Death Eaters. The boy has dark skin and dark eyes but looks friendlier than the others of his house, Hunter decides to give the boy a chance – he will still enquire to Sev about his origins later on.

"How vas your evening Drake," Viktor asks as they sit, Hunter on Draco's left, and Viktor across from him besides the boy.

"Heather decided we may be better off as just friends, so I thought I would scope out the Hogwarts library which is where I met Blaise here. He's putting his name forth also."

Blaise offers his hand to both Hunter and Viktor, "Blaise Zambini, it's a pleasure."

"Atticus Lupin." Blaise nods.

"Viktor Krum." Blaise nods again.

He then laughs, "I know who you all are." Hunter's eyes widen slightly as he looks at Draco, surely his brother had not spilt their secret so casually. "This summer, watching you three play was the best I've ever seen, you've got many fans at Hogwarts."

Quidditch is the topic of conversation for the next while, a few more of the surrounding students joining in. Hunter takes this opportunity to scan the room and analyse some of the students. The first group that he notices are what he assumes to be the Gryffindors, with red ties. His eyes scan the table, stopping abruptly on the group consisting of four redheads and several other students.

Hunter leans over to his brother, "Weasley family, two o'clock." He whispers to Draco, his brother looks over for a split second and nods. They're best to avoid them, their father is another potential risk as he feuded with the boy's father before they moved to Bulgaria.

Dark eyes meet his from under a cloud of dark bushy hair, surrounded by Weasley's Hunter barely realised that he recognised those eyes. There was a bigger problem than the Weasley's, a bigger problem than even the Death Eaters, and she was only a seventeen-year-old muggle-born.

He leaned over once more, "She knows Dragon."

Draco mouth back "Who?"

"Hermione Granger"

Draco's eyes darken, and neither of them joins the conversation for the rest of the night. Not when Dumbledore reveals the Cup and the Goblet. It's only when they're back in the safety of their cabin that they reveal to Viktor their problem.

"Maybe she does not remember?" He says.

"She does."

"How do you know zat?"

Hunter sighs, how does he explain that he just knows, "She was looking straight at me."

"You heard Blaise, ve have many admirers here, and you are quite handsome."

Hunter blinks. Does Viktor think he is handsome?

"That's not the things that Hermione thinks about, she highly intelligent, she isn't worried about boys."

Viktor takes a deep breath, there is no getting through to Hunter when he is like this, "People change Hunter, do not stress."

When classes were done the next day, the boys thought to now enter their names into the Goblet. They meticulously planned their entrance and exit, staying in their Quidditch positions with Hunter at the front and the other two flanking either side. The doors fly open and the storm in, many students gathered in the room to watch who puts their name in, one of which being Hermione. Once they had thrown in their pieces of paper, they turn and leave exactly how they walked in.

Once the doors have closed on the watchful crowd, the break formation, laughing and joking with each other. The doors open and close once more, Hunter hopes to Merlin it's not Hermione, they haven't settled on a plan of action to deal with her yet.

"Hey!" A girl's voice calls from behind them, none of them reacts,

"Hey, wait a minute!" Again, none of them reacts.

"Hunter Malfoy!" All three boys stop dead in their tracks, without making a noise Hunter beckons for the other two boys to keep going, he watches them go for a moment and then turns around to face the one and only Hermione Granger. Luckily there was no one else in the corridor, but he wasn't willing to take that chance.

"Hunt—" She starts.

With a hand raised, Hunter interrupts, "My name is Atticus Lupin, I don't know who Hunter Malfoy is."

"Yes, you do. I'm not stupid Hunter."

He sighs and rubs his face with his hand. 'This isn't the place to talk to her, think Hunter, think.' He chants in his head, "Come on, I can't talk to you in here, I don't know who could be round the corners."

He beckons her to follow him, walking briskly out of the castle and to the edge of the lake, where there is nowhere for an eavesdropper to hide. He sits down and invites her to join him.

She looks at him with an eyebrow raised, "Before you start, don't even try to tell me you're not Hunter, I remember your eyes."

"They're my mother's eyes." He says softly, thinking not only of his mother, but also Lily Black, whose eyes he had inherited before he was blood adopted, "You can't call me Hunter here, Hermione. I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that if anyone were to find out who I was it would be putting everyone I love in danger."

"I know who you are Hunter, I know that you are The Boy Who Lived and all that nonsense."

He wished it was just that simple, to tell everyone who he was and be done with all the lies and identities, "But you can't call me that, you can't tell anyone you know me or knew me, especially not the Weasleys."

That phrase knocks her off, "How do you know about the Weasleys."

"That doesn't matter, what matters is that you know something that most of my closest friends don't even know about me. Please, Hermione, don't say a word. I am Atticus Lupin, my brother is Drake Lupin, no one can know who we are. Do I have your word?" He sticks out his hand.

She looks down at it, and back up at him, then places her hand in his and shakes.
