A/N: Pairings do get mixed up in these drabbles, so don't worry. This drabble in particular has a variety of pairings. Also, canon (is it still canon?) divergence.

Izzy wasn't sure how he was getting dragged on a double date. Oh wait, he did. Mimi had asked him to go on a double date instead of their normal date and he really was a sucker for her, and it was worse when she begged and did that cute little pout she knew got him every time. So he agreed without asking who they'd be double dating with, but he could find out later.

Yolei and TK were definitely new to this relationship. She and Ken had been great, but as they grew up more she knew that they both wanted different things (and people). Because god Takeru had gotten even more attractive and they talked all the time and they flirted a bit and god, Yolei was a goner. The two split on mutual terms and they still talked. Ken had even told her about his plans for a date with someone for later that night. She was glad for Ken. He deserved happiness and so did she.

Davis wondered, once again, how in the hell Ken and Jun were dating. It made no sense to him. But he had little room to talk. His long distance romance with the French beauty, Catherine, had seemed to shock everyone. Including himself. The two had just hit it off when she had visited Japan, wanting to see TK and Tai, both of which had had a minor crush on her, but she had chose him. He was still baffled but enjoyed every minute of their video calls, phone calls, texting, and face to face visits. She was in town this week and was currently preparing for their "group date" with his sister in the other room. Catherine hadn't said who the other couples were but he was sure he'd heard something about Izzy and Tai.

Tai frowned as he watched Matt get ready to leave their shared apartment to pick up his date. He didn't know for sure, but he found it odd that Matt was dating someone and was being so secretive about it. It didn't help he was worried about Kari and her mysterious boyfriend that her roommate had mentioned to him last time he stopped by. Matt not telling him was not unexpected. Matt liked to keep his private life, private, and the fact that Tai and Sora had been together for nearly 2 years now, might have something to do with it.

He had felt horrible about himself when Matt and Sora broke up after a year and a half. Happy because maybe he and Sora could try their hands at a relationship and sad because his two best friends were hurting and refusing to be in the same room as each other (and couldn't hear the other's name in conversation). Even now he didn't know what caused them to break up, and no one else did either. It'd been about 2 years after that, when they were able to be in the same room and had a little party for Catherine, as she was visiting them all. It was that night that started his relationship with Sora too. (Something about Catherine flirting with him had started it, but he would always pick Sora over her any day.) Today he and Sora were going on a double date with Izzy and Mimi, which should be enjoyable. He'd worry about Matt's relationships and Kari's secret boyfriend later.

Joe did not know how he had become the secret keeper for Kari. Why she'd chose him to be the one person she trusted with the information on who she was dating (other than the guy himself) was beyond him. Okay, it wasn't, he was "Good Ole Reliable Joe" after all, but this was a lot to handle. Kari dating anyone would set Tai off. Everyone knows how overprotective he is of her - and how he intimidates and scares away nearly every person interested in Kari romantically, and he did feel bad for Kari in the situation, but why put him in the middle. Well, okay he knew that too since it was his fault he walked in on the two sharing a kiss. So of course he'd been sworn to secrecy because of course, it was a secret and no one knew.

It didn't take much to see how desperate they were to keep it a secret. So he agreed to keep it hidden and ended up a bit nervous whenever relationships were brought up in the conversation between the older Digidestined men, luckily they believed it was jitters over considering marriage with his long time girlfriend. But it was even worse when the secret boyfriend was sitting right there and Tai would try and get information about his secret girlfriend out of him. God, he hated being "Good Ole Reliable Joe" sometimes.

Kari Kamiya was a bit of an enigma. That's what Matt thought of her. When they'd met, she was this sweet, quiet, upset girl that was thrust into his watch by Tai. Gabumon had done all the comforting for him, because god knows he is not good with anyone upset or emotions in general. He hadn't thought much of her, even knowing she was the eighth child they were looking for. It wasn't until she gave herself up to the enemy so that "her friends" would stop getting hurt. Matt knew she was as reckless as her older brother and said older brother was going to kill him.

As their adventure in the Digital World took place, Matt realized she wasn't just like Tai. She was completely selfless. She was self-sacrificing, kind, and TK liked her. Probably not just as a friend either, as time went by. The second Adventure left Matt thinking that Kari Kamiya was odder and probably more mature than anyone or thing he'd ever met. She was still self-sacrificing, kind, and reckless, but now she'd have these periods of being brave, bold, and absolutely terrifying. (Especially when she had to stop TK and Davis, or himself and Tai, from getting into fist fights. He pledged to never piss her off that day).

He had never planned on having feelings for her either. This was his best friend's little sister (his younger brother's best friend and first crush) and someone who he thought he'd thought of as a younger sister. He definitely had gotten that last one wrong. It had taken his time with Sora and almost a year of denying it later to realize he definitely had a crush on her. It hadn't helped that she was the one he asked for advice relating to his relationship with Sora and the aftermath of it. It'd been a good six months of denying his own feelings and almost completely avoiding her before she confronted him about it. His avoiding her, not his feelings because thank god he hadn't been obvious about it.

But all it had taken was her confronting him and being upset over it to make him act on his feelings. He hadn't meant to kiss her, but he did. He hadn't meant to start dating her, while living with her older brother. He definitely hadn't meant to be caught kissing her by Joe, or to make Joe be their secret keeper. But it happened, and he was damn glad he did.

Explaining to Tai why his younger sister was straddling him in the middle of a makeout session when he got home from his "group date" was not something he was glad about. Damn Mimi, convincing him to "invite (his) girlfriend over tonight" because Tai would be out and she was staying at Izzy's. So of course Tai would be at their (Sora Mimi's) place instead. Oh well, the heart wants what the heart wants afterall.
