I have to admit, I like this version of the chapter so much better than the original. Honestly though, I can't believe what used to be two chapters turned into eleven whole chapters. I'm really not sure how I feel abut that detail.

I do not own the Outsiders.

Heart racing, Andromeda struggled to free herself from whoever had grabbed her. From their strength she guessed a man or teenage boy, but since she couldn't see them, she couldn't tell. With few other options available to, she prepared herself to bite down on the hand covering her mouth when the person holding her let her go with a shove. She stumbled slightly as she regained her footing, then tried to bolt before she was seized by the wrists by what had to be two people.

This time however, she could see her abductors and she immediately recognized one of the two. Marcus Jameson had left too much of a negative impression for her to forget him, especially since she'd seen him a couple hours. The other guy however, looked only vaguely familiar.

As she eyed the pair of them cautiously, she immediately regretted not taking Evie up on her offer to chase him off.

Regardless of that though, Andromeda schooled her expression into a bitter frown and demanded, "What the hell do you want?" To her relief, her voice stayed steady despite the fear she felt. Neither of the boys seemed impressed though and the boy she didn't recognize sneered, "So the Kitten got fangs, huh?" Andromeda directed her anger at him as she snapped, "The name's Andromeda, not Kitten. Now what do you want with me!?" The boys looked less amused after that, and Marcus replied, "What we want is for you to stay in your place for once. You're not a greaser. You don't belong around them." He jabbed a finger at her chest each time he said 'you or 'your' which made Andromeda sputter for a moment having been taken aback by the action.

A moment later, she snapped, "Seriously!? 'That's' what this is about!? I'll be sticking with my friends, thank you very much!"

She stared at the pair of them incensed. She'd known most people still didn't accept her decision in terms of friendships, but most people just given her odd looks. They didn't go and kidnap her. The two boys glanced at each other before Marcus rolled his eyes and put a sleazy smile on his face as he said, "Listen sweetheart, I'm a forgiving guy. You stick with me, be my girl, and we'll make sure every one of us Socials you pissed off forgives you. He leaned in and whispered, "Not a bad deal, huh?" As he stroked her cheek with his free hand.

Andromeda dropped open before she scoffed and said, "You're kidding."

Marcus glanced at the other boy with him and said, "Hey Tom, you'd forgive her for the trouble she caused by having after you threw that rock at Winston, right?"

The other boy smirked as he replied, "Maybe, but she'd at least have to give you a damn good kiss."

Andromeda bit her lip as she trembled in anger as the boys laughed.

Their laughter abruptly stopped though when a glob of spit hit Marcus' cheek. He reached up a stunned expression on his face as Andromeda snapped, "And that's the closest thing to a kiss that you get from me! No matter what you say or do, I'll never so much as consider getting involved with a creep like you!"

The area was silent.

In mere seconds Anger replaced the shock on Marcus's face and he snarled, "Why you little bitch!" His palm collided with her cheek, and she stumbled and nearly collapsed, held up only her wrists. Despite the pain she felt both there and her scuffed legs, she smirked defiantly up at him. She was yanked up a moment later to find herself just inches away from Marcus' sneering face as he snarled, "Just who said that you ever had a choice? I gave you the chance to agree peacefully, but now you've lost that." Andromeda opened her mouth to retort only for his mouth to land on hers when she did. For a second she froze in shock, only to become aware as a tongue slipped into her mouth. She nearly gagged at the feeling, and tried to pull her head back only for a hand to hold it in place.

Where anger had been, panic bloomed. She was alone, with no one around to possibly help her. A scream slipped out only to be muffled by Marcus' lips, and all her attempts to struggle went fruitless.

Blinded by fear, Andromeda did the only thing she could think of. She bit down on Marcus' tongue. The boy pulled back with a cry of pain, and Andromeda took that moment to ram the back of her head into the other boys nose.

The moment their grip slipped, she bolted only to stumble over an unseen rock and fall. Despite the pain in her ankle, she scrabbled forwards as she attempted to move forward and get back on her feet. A foot descended on her outstretched right arm which broke with a sickening crack. A scream tore from her mouth as sharp pain shot through her limb. She looked up to see Marcus above her before he kicked her everywhere his foot could reach.

He'd just dragged her up for what had to be another kiss, or maybe something worse, when she was wrenched from his grasp.

Andromeda looked up dumbly to see Dallas's face just inches from hers looking more murderous than the day she'd first met him. Marcus clearly still remembered the beating he'd received, because he paled and yelled, "Let's go!" to the other boy who followed as Marcus ran away.

Three people raced by. One of them, who turned out to be Two-Bit, stopped short to gasp for breath before he yelled obscenities at the retreating Socs. The other two, Soda and Steve, stopped a minute later and turned back as she rest of the gang arrived. Johnny winced sympathetically as he said, "That-That's a nasty break." Andromeda blinked and looked around to see sadness and anger on all of their faces. The sight proved to be too much for her, and she broke down in tears as she sobbed, "I-i tried to ge-get away, but it, it didn't, they would stop! I couldn't, I couldn't make them stop!"

She tried to explain better, but she could only gasp for breath as tears poured down her face.

Arms wrapped around her, and her face pressed into someone's shoulder as Dallas said softly, "Hey, It's alright now. Those bastards are gone, and I swear I won't let em' do that again, okay? You don't, you don't need to cry." Despite his words, she continued to sob for several minutes before she could finally calm down and Dallas released her.

Soda wiped her face clear of her tears and snot as Andromeda choked out, "How'd you find me?" Darry held up her phone as he said, "We found this lying on the ground and got worried so we started to search for you. We ran over as soon as we heard you scream."

Andromeda sniffled and nodded as she rasped, "I see." She swallowed what small amount of spit was in her mouth before she opened her mouth only to be interrupted by the ringing of her phone. Andromeda blinked and muttered, "That's a surprise." before she accepted the phone." She didn't ever have a chance to speak before her aunt Christy screamed, "Where in the world are you! You were supposed to be back fifteen minutes ago!"

Andromeda winced as she replied, "I-I'm, I am sorry, but there I was ... in an accident and my arm was-" "I don't care about that! You get back here, or I swear you'll regret it!" Her Aunt hung up immediately and Andromeda stood there dumbstruck.

Two-Bit was the first to speak as he crossed his arms and said, "What's her problem? Did something crawl up her asshole and die in there?" Andromeda chuckled before she announced, "Sounds like I need to go." It only made sense after all. Defying her aunt when she was at that level of rage was foolish.

She was about to leave when Darry held out his hand and said, "No, what you need to go is get to the hospital and have your arm checked out."

Andromeda glanced at the limp limb before she replied, "I know that, but my aunt really isn't the sort of person you should ignore. I'll go to the hospital first thing tomorrow morning." The gang still looked skeptical, but Andromeda put on a smile despite the pain she felt and said, "Well, I'll be going. I'll see you tomorrow." She turned around with the intention to keep walking only to stop short. Dallas stood in her path, arms crossed as he said, "I going with you." Andromeda raised an eyebrow questioningly and Dallas insisted, "I'm not going to let you walk off on your own and risk having those two go after you."

Andromeda nodded as she replied, "Alright." Dallas seemed satisfied with her acceptance and gestured as he said, "Lead the way then." Despite the situation, a small smile came to Andromeda's face as they began to make their way to her aunt's house.

Well, there it is. As you could see, I hacked out most of the attackers from my previous version. While most of them would have some sort of beef with Andy, it felt better for me t just stick with those two. It allowed Andy to defend herself better, and I'm extremely pleased that I decided to have her at least try to stand up for herself to some success.

The next chapter will continue where I left off.
