Harry was beyond nervous. Nervous was what you got when you thought you might lose a test.

No, Harry was anxious, twitchy, and the magnitude of what he'd just signed them both up for was just starting to hit him.

What had he been thinking? He'd barely been out to a normal restaurant, let alone took a train across the countryside! Or know how to earn money - or not get caught.

Harry Potter was SUCH a freak!

And it was all their fault, too! The Dursleys had never ever let him do what he wanted. Hadn't ever given him a proper childhood, either.

So Harry was missing some of the normal things that children took for granted.

But one thing he did know - spending time without parents around was Trouble, and likely to get them sent off to juvenile detention - or worse, an orphanage.

Couldn't be worse than the Dursleys.

Harry Potter said softly, "I've never done this before."

"Never done what?" Draco Malfoy said, squatting so as not to sit in the grass with the dress on. It might stain, and Draco certainly didn't want to try Muggle stain-removers.

"Erm. Well, anything." Harry said, "I went to school, and I went home, and I did chores." It sounded like a safe thing to say, a safe thing to admit. He certainly wasn't going to tell Draco Malfoy what his Aunt had called him.

"So? I may not have gone to school, but even I had a few chores to do." Draco Malfoy said.

"Like what?" Harry Potter inquired.

"Mostly answering correspondence. My Mother's great-aunt loves to talk, and talk and talk. And when she's not around, she writes and writes and writes." Draco Malfoy said, "Figure she's lonely, mostly, but Mum thought it would be great practice for me. I had to write back, and at least pretend to be interested in her kneasles and krups." Draco Malfoy looked up at the sky, half-smirking, "Lucky she kicked the bucket, or she'd be writing my mum demanding why I wasn't writing her back!"

They both laughed at that.

[a/n: Harry is uniquely unqualified to teach Draco how to be a muggle. He's just realizing that, fully.
