Hera trailed behind Zeus the entire walk to their palace with Jason curled up in her arms, drooling all over her shoulder. Thalia squirmed in Zeus' grasp until he placed her on the ground beside him. She zipped back and forth, running in circles around and between her parents, stopping to giggle at the peacocks wandering Hera's gardens. Thalia stopped at the bottom steps of the palace, yawning and stretching her arms out for Zeus to hold her again. The king of the gods placed his now young daughter on his shoulders, grimacing as she giggled and pulled his hair like horse reins. Hera bit her lip to suppress a laugh at her husband's expense. Hera followed Zeus and Thalia through the palace doors, oversized so that they could accommodate the gods' true forms, and whispered "Welcome home, my children," quietly in Jason's ear.

Zeus carried Thalia into the main chambers, lifting her carefully and gently laying her on the bed. He turned towards his wife and held out his hands for his son. Reluctantly Hera handed him over, and Zeus smiled and carefully lifted the too big glasses from Jason's face and put him in bed next to his sister. The king and queen of the gods regarded each other awkwardly for several moments. "Aren't we going to set up rooms for the children?" Hera finally asked.

Zeus glanced at the two children on the bed, Jason sleeping, his head on Thalia's lap, and Thalia, sitting criss crossed and staring at her parents with electric blue eyes. "I think they can stay here for one night, after all we've missed nearly two decades with them." He said accusingly.

Hera immediately became defensive, "I only kept them from you because of the oath."

The corners of Zeus' mouth lifted, "I did not mean any offence my love."

Hera's expression softened, "Well I suppose you are right, we have missed a lot."

"Then let's make the most of Apollo's spell before he finds a way to change them back." Zeus suggested, holding his arm out for his wife to take.

"I'm not so sure he will," Hera laughed, "Did you see how tightly he was holding Annabeth?"

"I thought you did not approve of the girl?"

"Well she is insufferably rude, but she did grow up to be quite admirable don't you think? Kind of like another little girl I know." Hera said sitting next to her children and smoothing down the spikes in Thalia's black hair. Thalia wiggled out from under her brother, whose head hit the bed with a thump, and climbed onto Hera's lap and wrapped her arms around the goddess' neck. Hera's arms encircled Thalia and she held her tight, the first time since her birth.

Zeus sat behind Hera and his arms went tightly around his wife and daughter. "Tell me dearest," He said in Hera's ear, "Why didn't you pretend to be mortal as my sisters in law did?"

Hera sighed, "I regret it deeply everyday love, but I could not explain long absences as easily as Amphitrite or Persephone. Amphitrite told Poseidon she was staying with her sisters because he cheated while she was Sally Jackson. And Persephone is already absent from the Underworld for half of the year, and Hades was always visiting her as Maria DiAngelo during the other half. My place is on Olympus, ruling by your side, I could not pretend the way they could, so I gave them to a mortal woman. I poor choice in mortal woman as luck would have it." She grumbled.

"So you had me have relations with another to protect the children?" Zeus said incredulously, it did not sound like Hera at all.

"No of course not." She snapped, "I'm still the goddess of marriage whether you remember that or not."

"Then why..."

"I had Hecate alter your memories when the Fates changed the children into half-bloods. You'll probably get them back now that you know the truth."

Jason stirred, drawing everyone's attention. He crawled over to his parent's and sister and Zeus opened his arms to allow his son into the hug. "Well I am glad they're back in any case." He said kissing the top of Hera's head. He released his family and moved to turn down the covers. Hera laid Thalia back down next to Jason and left the room, returning with two sets of pyjamas for the children.

After getting the children and themselves dressed for bed, they lay side by side, with Hera holding Thalia and Zeus holding Jason, both children were sound asleep. "Zeus?" Hera said tentatively.

"Hmm?"

"Do you think if we break the spell, Thalia will go back to hating me again?"

Zeus shifted uncomfortably, "We'll have to explain to them dear, I'm afraid it may take some time." Hera turned her face away from him. He knew by the sound of her breath catching that she was trying hard not to cry. "We're immortal love, we have all the time in the world." He said encouragingly.

"All my children hate me except Ares, and with his war-mongering and blood-thirst I'm ashamed to admit he's my son most of the time. I'm a horrible mother." Hera sobbed, clutching Thalia close to her like she was afraid she'd wake up and leave.

"Hera the mistakes you made with our other children were thousands of years ago, it's a different age." Zeus tried not to smile as he said, "I'm sure if you refrain from throwing Thalia and Jason off of Mount Olympus they will not hate you."

"I abandoned them in the mortal world."

"You protected them." Zeus said firmly. "My love if we break the spell I promise that Thalia and Jason will eventually understand your actions and they will not hate you. And if we don't, well then it's a chance to start anew with them."

Hera's breathing slowed down to near normal. "Perhaps-" she hiccuped. "Perhaps we can spend a day with all our children. I think it is time I made some amends."

Zeus reached out his hand and grasped hers, "It will all work out in the end my love, it will all work out."
