Helicopters flew towards their destinations with soldiers armed with heavy assault guns and other weapons.
"How long before we reached our destination?" A black-haired man asked the pilot.
"We will reach our destination in nine minutes twenty seconds sir!"
The man nodded as he watched the field under them. He grabbed his cross and prayed for their safety.
"Don't worry sergeant. We will be there on time and get the POV out of here," one of the soldiers reassured.
The man nodded and put on his headphones, "What's the status at the farm?"
It was Codemaster Crellan who replied, "So far sergeant, they managed to repel the first assault. Though more M'arrillians are heading in their direction."
"Thanks." The sergeant hung up and gazed at his soldiers, "Soldiers! Remember the mission. We get in, extract the civilians and the four creatures and we get out of here. We don't stay longer than necessary! Understood!"
"Sir! Yes sir!" They replied.
The sergeant was George Major, father of Tom Major. He held his carbine near him and kept praying that they would be safe until the very end. He told himself that he was the one who had to keep his focus at maximum. He was the only one who had his family involved in the matter. Still, he would make the M'arrillians regret targeting his family.
Chapter 96: Siege Part 3
The women treated the wounds of everyone with the improvised bandages, decontaminating the wounds beforehand.
"Don't complain Kaz," his mother told him as she applied disinfectant on a cut.
"Y-yeah," he nodded.
Tom put his scanner on the ground. He had just sent a message to Codemaster Crellan, "More are coming. Dad will be here soon. About ten minutes."
Donald checked the guns they used and saw everything was fine. "Those M'arrillians sure wrecked the place, and we still got that purple bean bag over there," he pointed at their prisoner.
Aval'par was still knocked out from the battle. He had been restrained in a way that he looked like a purple ball. Without bones, it was easy to change his form without breaking his body apart. Most of his armor was taken off except for his waist. No one wanted to see what was under that.
Tom loaded his rifle and checked outside, "Sorry grandpa. We'll fix it up."
"I don't mind. Just that we might lose the crops, but the government better pay up for that," Donald chuckled.
Annie smiled, "We are all safe for now. That's all I want."
Agitos sighed, "More will show up soon. I don't think they will accept any trade with Aval'par. Even if he is a chieftain."
"They really want you two," Intress replied.
"A prisoner is always an advantage. Especially since he can communicate with the others with his mind," Rothar commented.
"Like making him believe we would do something, let him relay the false information and bang, a trap waiting for them?" Kaz asked half-heartedly. He expected the M'arrillians to do something like that.
"No time for talk. Here they come," Arias grunted as his muscles tensed.
Everyone returned to their positions, and as Agitos returned to the front he noticed almost no one was at the back.
Kaz checked the clock, "Three minutes."
They prepared to fire at the creatures. Arias and Donald joined them.
"No one is trying the back," the man told them.
The Overworlder grunted, "I don't like this at all."
Annie climbed down, "There are many of them coming. Tom guessed they were about forty. Surely more."
They all knew they were in big trouble once the creatures reached them.
The M'arrillians approached them, but then and stopped.
Milla'iin was among them and noticed the carnage. He saw many of his soldiers were either too injured to keep fighting or dead. The one with a hole in his face sent a cold shiver through him. His large eye went to the house.
(Give us Tom and Kaz right now if you want to be spared torture! We will control your mind, but we won't hesitate to inflict pain on you!)
The creature received no answer. He raised his tendril. Two of them were right in front of him and humiliated his tribe. Not only that, but he realized he didn't know where Aval'par was.
Arias head came out of the house and yelled, "We have Aval'par! He is our prisoner!"
Agitos popped up from under him, "We are willing to negotiate!"
Milla'iin's tendril twisted. He knew they were telling the truth, his instinct told him that. Still, they had the numbers and, in the end, they would be captured. He wouldn't just negotiate with the enemies. Aval'par had to get out on his own.
The other M'arrillians talked among each other. They were a little uncertain about putting the life of their chieftain in danger.
"Milla'iin. We will have other chances if we get him out of here with our comrades," one Kha'rall suggested.
Right now, the chieftain wanted to just remember the other creature's position as a foot soldier. However, he wouldn't just show weakness in front of them. He saw a flash of light in the upper floor of the house. Nothing came out of it, but his instinct told him that a flash of light was dangerous. He guessed battlegear was pointed at them, most likely it was at himself. The question came. Why didn't they try anything yet? They had the chance to take him out and cause chaos among his soldiers, even if there were more who could take his places. He the chuckled at the realization, (You are simply buying yourself some time!)
The M'arrillian quickly saw the flash of light grow brighter for a second, then quickly flew into the air as a loud sound came from the house. Near the creature, a hole was on the ground, (Charge!)
The soldiers charged towards the houses, a few feeling the bullets and attacks of the creatures hit them.
Lucas saw the farm in question, but it was obviously not in its best state. He also noticed the crab-people, known as M'arrillians, charging at the house.
Making a decision, he held his hands on the wheels and pressed on the gas, "It's going to get bumpy too."
The Danian yelped as the ride suddenly turned bumpy.
"Something is going on," Odu-Bathax said before Wamma bumped into him.
"S-sorry!" The big bug quickly retreated.
"Be ready to get out and fight," his instinct told him as everything was so sudden.
The M'arrillians charged, but slowed down when they heard a sound.
Milla'iin turned around and saw a large truck coming towards him. He quickly flew into the air, not wanting another round of him vs a human vehicle. Especially when the vehicle was much larger than before.
The others turned around when they heard a loud honk. It was too late and a few crab creatures were sent flying, denting the truck.
Lucas turned the vehicle around near the house, "Out now! Just break it!" He yelled.
Inside, they barely heard anything of what the man said, but they heard the truck make contact with a few things. They knew it could only be one thing.
"Let's go!" the blue Danian stood up and charged at the door, tearing it down and jumping out. He saw many M'arrillians in their way and didn't waste a second to raise the ground.
Wamma jumped out next and threw fireballs at the M'arrillians in sight.
The two cars that followed behind didn't try to tackle the Kha'ralls and went around them.
Ghatup's arm went out of the car and attacked anyone close to him with a wind attack on one side while Ario did the same on the other.
Once the cars were close to the house, they stopped.
"Out now!" Ario ordered as he jumped out of the vehicle and sent a wind attack at the closest creatures.
The five humans obeyed and quickly went into the house.
The four creatures remaining inside jumped out.
"I'm glad you are here!" Intress admitted.
"It was getting a little too much for us," Agitos admitted.
"We got Aval'par as a prisoner. They won't forget about this for a long time!" Rothar laughed loudly.
"A prisoner. We might know what they are planning," Ario replied.
Ghatup chuckled, "Glad we got a little piece of the action!"
"They are here in one minute!" Kaz told them.
Tom fired at the face of one of the Kha'rall and disfigured it.
Sarah quickly went by their side with Peyton, "Sorry we took so long!"
"And that big purple ball is Aval'par… Why isn't he angry?" Peyton asked.
"He's still knocked out," Annie replied as she reloaded her pistol.
"Hello. My name is Judy," Peyton's mother showed her hand. An explosion almost made her fall.
"We'll introduce each other later," her husband replied.
Alex put his hands on his head, "Damn. This is a little more intense than when the Danians chased me for infiltrating Mount Pillar."
"I'm so glad you are all okay," Sarah said as she put her hands on her chest.
"We wouldn't let them get us," Kaz replied.
"And you were coming. No way we would go down and not see you again," Tom replied before he shot another time.
They heard something else. They raised their heads and saw military helicopters coming towards the house.
The M'arrillians gazed at it in confusion. They never saw those battlegear before in their life.
Milla'iin noticed there were humans in there, "Do-" he was interrupted when the humans fired at them with their weapons.
The M'arrillians raised their arms and pincers as they slowly backed away.
Ropes came from the helicopters and many humans climbed down. Once they hit the ground, they took cover and fired at will at the creatures.
Four helicopters quickly landed at the other side of the house.
"Everyone! Retreat at the back now! We will provide some covers!" One man said.
Tom recognized the voice of his father, "Yes dad!" He turned around and went to the helicopters. The others did the same.
"You too creatures!" The man told them.
"I just got a little bit of the action," Ghatup grumbled.
The eight creatures retreated. The Danians grabbed the prisoner. They had no intention of letting him get away with everything.
The M'arrillians were overwhelmed and slowly retreated. Many were wounded by the bullets that had either bounced on their flesh or pierced it. They had protected their vital parts, but some fell on the ground or just turned around and ran away.
At the other side of the house, the humans climbed on the helicopter. The creatures split up on the other three.
"Split the weight!" The pilot yelled at the Danians who hesitated at one of them.
Odu-Bathax climbed on one and dropped Aval'par while Wamma climbed on the other. Intress and Agitos joined them on each Helicopter as they were lighter than the others.
The remaining four jumped on the last one.
The helicopters raised in the air, "POV rescued! Retreat now!"
A few helicopters went at the back to get the soldiers out of there. The remaining continued to suppress the M'arrillians. Once the soldiers evacuated, the helicopters flew away.
It only took three minutes for the army to come in, evacuate the civilians and retreat from the farm.
Donald and his wife watched the work of their life. This year, it might all go to waste. Still, everyone was alive and focused on that.
Tom and Kaz sighed in relief once they were out. It was a nightmarish situation, but it was over for now. Their family and friends were with them.
No one felt like they wanted to say anything. Right now, their body wanted to collapse from all the tension they had all accumulated for different reasons.
Meanwhile, on the farm, Milla'iin watched the four humans they were after escape from them once again, (Damn you humans! The Cothica will be ours! Sooner or later!)
He got no answers. He put his tendril on his face. One of their chieftains was a prisoner of theirs. Humiliation rose within him. He had so many things in his mind right now and didn't know how to handle them.
AC: This is the end of the siege. The action will slow down for now.
Next: Relief.
Meanwhile, in Chaotic, the creatures wondered what was going on with the humans, as they were aware of the siege.
