Author Comment: I want to thank my Beta-Reader of everything he did for this chapter to come out.
The day was coming to an end on the island. The creatures and Tera Motus were put in prison. It was one of the abandoned cities. It was made of bronze, but the bars were made of some kind of black metal the creatures couldn't identify.
They had been stripped of their Battle gears and only kept their clothes.
"That wasn't how I expected this to end," Tassanil commented. He crossed his arms and grumbled about their predicament.
"No one expected that," Vix'ben replied on the corner of the jail.
Gal'drad sighed as he gazed at the bar. He couldn't fit and go to the other side. He noticed three guards and more were outside of the jail. There was no chance to escape.
"I hope Chaor succeed and the portal is fixed," Tiaane commented.
Maxxor gazed down. His mind went for Tom. He hoped the boy was safe.
"I fear the council might try something soon," the creature of rock and ice commented.
Chapter 107: The Prisoners
It took a few minutes before they talked back to him. They had a lot in their mind.
Mudeenu asked, "What would you fear? They might try to execute us, but they won't succeed without a fight. We have been in many battles and I am not certain your tribe met as many as us."
Tera Motus chuckled, "If only it was that. No. I mean that they might try something in this Chaotic place. They have those battlegears."
"They are outnumbered. We only have two and the defense is high. They won't be able to infiltrate quietly either. Chaor surely warned them about that possibility," Maxxor replied.
"He better does so," Mudeenu grumbled.
They were quiet once again. No one came to visit them.
"What would they do now?" the leader of the Overworld asked. He turned towards the creature of rock and ice, "They have us here, but what next?"
"There is a chance they will bring us elsewhere. To kill us or get more information's. My tribe isn't afraid of mind torture or body torture," Tera warned them. He sighed as he put his hands on his knees, "It will be a horrible death."
The creature grumbled among themselves. Nauthilax huffed, "This isn't the worse fate I've heard about. When you are on Chaor bad side, it is a horrible dead," he didn't add about what he heard about Chaor's father.
The creature of rock and ice nodded negatively, "Yo have no idea who they proceed to it. I didn't see it, but I heard it. During the night, the cry of pain. When they begged to die instead of their punishments. That's why we had little crimes and traitors. I will live through my nightmare soon enough."
Maxxor frowned. After what the creature did to help them, he wouldn't let him end up like that, "We won't let you go through this Tera Motus. We will get out of here and you will come with us."
Gal'drad nodded. He had a guess of the why the Overworlder said that.
Tiaane chuckled, "Got no problem with that."
Nauthilax rolled his eyes and didn't reply.
They heard someone coming and were quiet. The four members of the council came in and glared at the group.
"We finally made our decision," the creature of fire told them.
"For everything you have done against us and the damage you will cause to the Cothica, we will punish you back on our city. No one will find you there," the creature of water chuckled loudly.
"Painful execution for us I believe," Tera Motus concluded.
The creature of wind nodded negatively, "No. Few creatures couldn't pay enough for what you did. They will be used to cause massive damage to the five tribes. The creatures will face judgements."
The creatures of the five tribes chuckled. It was such weird and weak threat; they couldn't take it seriously.
The four members of the council glared at them. They still noticed one of them weren't mocking them.
Maxxor was the only one who didn't like this. He noticed they sound quite confident in their statement, "I fear you might have a way to do something like that."
The others calmed down.
Mudeenu had a smile on his face, "Come on Maxxor. What could they do with few of them and us in their town?"
"With what we know they made. We don't know what else they could do," the ruler of the Overworld replied.
That possibility made them a little nervous.
"Tell us. How do our portal only work at specific locations?" the creature of fire asked them.
They couldn't answer.
"We use something for that. Found high in the sky. The Eyes Of The Maelstroms," he replied to them.
Maxxor saw where it was going, "Since there is none at this portal, you did something to that location. You altered it."
"Yes. The eye is gone and the connection to the Cothica, only function by the portal. You surely have one active in Perim. After all," he nodded at the creature made of earth who showed Mugic Stone, "You can cast mugic. Which means you have one that connected with the energy to cast those mugics."
"And that you might not be able too," Tiaane commented.
The fire member of the council nodded, "And your punishment will be that you will never be able to cast mugic. We will close that eye. I'm sure you're battlegear like the one the red one used, had that location, or one close to it."
Maxxor smirked, "Maybe. Maybe not."
The four members of the council glared at him. They turned around and left the room after they said what they had to say.
The creatures had many questions on the how it was possible. They knew it was the case.
"They will need to build something like this portal," Mudeenu concluded.
Tassanil nodded, "Sounds like this is a long-term plan. We will need to keep the location in check for the future."
"Only if we deemed it necessary. If we are already protecting it, they will know the location. We have no idea what they are capable off," Maxxor said back.
The creatures began to whisper among each other's as they slowly went to a more sensible subject.
Gal'drad spoke up, "We need to get out of here and quickly. I think we have any chance the moment we are in their territory."
Tera Notus nodded, "You all need to escape. I'm not certain I can follow you. My life is over, but you're escape takes priority," he nodded to himself, "They are going too far."
"This place is old, there could be some secret passages or anything weak enough to discreetly break," Mudeenu whispered.
"The guards are watching us," Vix'ben reminded him.
"Can you control their mind or something?" Nauthilax asked the M'arrillians.
The two nodded negatively. The Chieftain replied, "We are few and lacks power. We can communicate with the others about our predicament and location, but if we are blindfolded, we won't be able to guide them. We also promise to never use that power again."
Maxxor nodded, "Then we need to be smart about it."
Gal'drad then spoke in their mind, (I suggest we first observe our surrounding, but try nothing. We are in here and we are bored out. Just watching anything to distract us. I also think they might eavesdrop on us now,) he gazed at the elemental creatures, (They noticed we were whispering. I can try and connect our mind, so we can speak that way for now. However, be careful what you think about. Because we will hear it.)
The creatures gazed at each other's. They knew it meant they couldn't think anything bad or stupid for a while. Which wouldn't be easy. They couldn't just block it off like the M'arrillians.
"Do it," they said about the same time.
The creatures winced when they felt something entering in their mind. It did nothing to them and just felt some kind of connection.
(W-what was that?) Mudeenu wondered to himself.
(I connected our minds together. As I said, careful. Everyone can hear your thought now. You need to filtrate it. Just don't think too hard.)
(Good. Don't just stand and do nothing, or they will be suspicious of something,) Maxxor concluded.
Tiaane thought, (The jail looks too solid to force our way out. With the guards, it is too much of a risk to consider for now.)
(Obviously,) Nauthilax thought. He grumbled, (My arm is itching so much!) he scratched his arms.
(Feel like an idiot staring at a wall,) Tassanil grumbled, (I'm not a kid anymore. Not my fault I-) he ended his thought, (Bronze is a boring color.)
Everyone wondered what he did when he was younger.
(There is no hole or any weakness in the wall. No view of the outside world,) Maxxor thought. He scratched his chin, (I wonder what's going on with Tom. I hope those M'arrillians aren't planning anything else bad.)
(Chaor and his Kazzy. He just keeps thinking about the boy like he is special,) Nauthilax thought. He realised it and put his hands on his face, (Don't say anything about what I thought to him or I'm dead!)
Mudeenu watched the bars once again, (Trying to escape during night might be an option, if we can break the bars quietly… Can we rust it?)
(Don't think so. It's made to imprison creatures. Idiot,) Nauthilax replied.
(What did you say?) the prince of the Mipedians growled in his mind. Thankfully, it wasn't out loud.
(I thought too much!)
(Calm down. We all have those kinds of thought, but we don't express it. You don't need to get infuriated,) Gal'drad warned them as he sensed the tension.
Maxxor helped, (We may have a chance if we try to escape during the night. We'll try to melt the bars. There might be a chance, but only when security is dropped. If we can get out, we will go to the ship and escape.)
(I hope they didn't find it and destroy it. Because we cannot swim for a long time.)
(They didn't take my communication devices on my ears. We can find a way to return when we speak with the Codemasters,) the leader of the Underworld concluded the first plan.
"I'm getting tired anyway," Vix'ben told them as he rested against the wall.
Gal'drad gazed at the guards who watched them, (They are suspicious of our long silence.) "Me too. We have no idea what they planned for us anyway."
"Fine," Maxxor sighed as he rested on the ground.
The others did the same and closed their eyes.
(Thanks for the warning,) Gal'drad said.
(They were really watching us. It was annoying me and it was for the best to make them leave us on our own,) Vix'ben replied.
The creatures continued to communicate, but they had nothing else to add to the plan. It was just putting more meat into the barebone plan and wondering what the other plans might be.
Tera Notus closed his eyes. He didn't think of anything. Nothing strongly enough for them to hear him. He weighted the options they had. His knowledge of the city was great, but limited. He knew they were no secret passages in this prison. It was a stupid design that, from his tribe history, only happened once and the prisoner escaped quickly. It was in another abandoned location. Still, he could guide them quickly outside of the city. They were other ways than the main entrance, (Once we are out of here. I can guide you to a few other exits. They aren't as used as the front door and they are one-way exit. You cannot enter from there. Since I'm with you, they might expect this.)
Maxxor thought, (Should we take the risk or not? The main entrance to the city is obviously heavily guarded, but they cannot watch everywhere.)
(I estimated they were a hundred of them maximal,) Tassanil told him.
(We will do as you say,) Maxxor replied.
(Thanks for trusting me,) the creature of rock and ice thought to himself. He realised the others heard him and turned his back at them.
With a plan formed, they just needed to take their chances.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next: Fixing The Portal
In Chaotic, the portal was currently fixed and they just needed a new source of energy, which they were still waiting for.
