At the break of dawn, Rin hunts for deer with her bow and arrow. Kaede is much older now and is unable to hunt for both of them. Rin spots a deer twelve feet away. She stoops down quietly creeping upon her dinner. She steadies her arrow to take the shot until something rapidly runs across her scaring the deer away.
"Dang it." Rin attempts to take the shot anyway but misses. She lowers her bow in disappointment.
"You know you almost shot me with that arrow." An unknown voice speaks to her. Rin turns to see Kohaku holding her arrow. She snatches it and points it at him.
"You made me lose my meal." She said in a playful fussy tone.
"No, I didn't." He moves over to the side and the deer lay there lifeless. "I got it for you." He grins.
"Generous of you but I had it," She said in a snarky tone.
"Oh I know, I just want to do something nice for you." He admits and she leans over to pick it up but Kohaku stops her.
"I got it, so is this part of your weekly routine?" He said in a struggle tone lifting it with no problem.
"Yes, so are you just passing through?" She smiled.
"I'm here to see you. I haven't seen you in a while and I wanted to say hi. Hi Rin." He grinned big.
"Hi Kohaku, but you saw me yesterday." She blushed.
"Really? Wow. That's a long time." He plays dumb, scratching his head. Rin giggles again as they walk in comfortable silence. Kohaku's eyes linger on her curves taking her in.
"You know Rin you've grown a lot over the years." He smirks.
"So have you." She nudges him playfully with her shoulder.
"I guess so." He scratches his head to think. Rin and Kohaku stroll through the village toward her home and see Kaede sit on the porch.
"It's another beautiful day." She calls out to them.
"Yes it is, a nice day to hunt but someone interrupts it," Rin responds to Kaede when she makes it to the porch.
"I'm not sure I know what you're talking about." Kohaku grinned with guilt. Kaede gazes at both of them.
"Well, I think I have forgotten to pick vegetables." She raised from her seat.
"But I did it yesterday," Rin confessed. But Kaede ignores her walking toward the field. Kohaku glanced at Rin.
"I guess we're alone again." He digs his foot in the ground shyly.
"I guess so, anyway what are you doing with your time these days?" Rin rested on the porch step as Kohaku joined her.
"Well, I'm currently slaying demons for villagers. What about you?" He asked, sitting next to her shoulder to shoulder.
"Nothing really but learning medicine as much as I can before Kaede reaches her limit," Rin said in a sad tone.
"Sounds lonely," Kohaku gazes at her.
"I'm not alone, I feel very content." She admits happily.
"Well, Ms. Content. Hopefully, one day we can be content together." He flirts and her cheeky face becomes pink.
"I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable." He felt kind of embarrassed for making that statement.
"No, it's fine." She said in an okay tone.
"You know Rin, I was hoping that we can become more than friends." He cuffs her chin to turn to him so he can admire her big brown eyes.
"Kohaku I-" She got cut off with a smooth kiss on her lips as her stomach fluttered with butterflies. Then he pulls away.
"I'm sorry." He scratches his head thinking maybe he went too far.
"No, it's okay, I wanted to." She blushed. He gives her a soft smile and kisses her forehead.
"Well anyway, I have to go, just think about my offer okay. Oh and one more thing that bow and arrow are weak you should use demon bones. Hunting for food is dangerous; you can run into demons." He gives her a piece of advice.
"Well, I haven't seen any demons In seven years. I don't think they will come to this village." Rin admits. Kohaku stares at her for a moment.
"Well this village must be blessed anyway I'll see you tomorrow." He finally responds.
"So soon?" She giggled.
"If you wish to have me." He smiled. Rin tries to hold back her blush as he lifts her hand to kiss her knuckles.
"See you tomorrow Rin." He leaves as she admires him.
"See you later Kohaku." She said under her breath, waving her fingers.
Meanwhile, Sesshomaru stares off into the distance looking at a herd of tree size demons.
"To become Emperor, I must do the unjust." He spoke in a low tone.
