The other chosen one
Chapter 10
HPOV
"You don't actually believe them, do you?" I asked, looking at Lexi in shock. I'm still in shock that Sirius Black is her father and she didn't tell me.
"I'm sorry Harry." She said, looking at me with pain filled eyes. "I have to know."
"Give me the rat." Black snapped, making Ron shrink back in fear.
"Back off. You're scaring him." Lexi snapped, making him look at her in shock.
"Remus, what have you been teaching my daughter?" He asked, looking at Lupin who was smirking.
"I didn't have to teach her that. She got it from you." He said. I guess that Hermione's theory of Lupin being Lexi's uncle is correct then.
"Knock it off!" Lexi snapped before the door banged open again as Snape barged into the room, his wand pointed at Lupin and Black.
"I told Dumbledore you were helping your old friend into the castle. He didn't believe me of course, but what a shock he will have." He drawled.
"Still sulking about school are we Severus?" Black asked, making Snape point his wand at him.
"Give me a reason, I beg you. The Dementors are looking forward to seeing you." He said. Lexi stepped in front of Black and glared at Snape.
"Leave him alone." She snapped, making Snape smile.
"Alexis Black. I always knew you'd follow in your Father's footsteps. Now move." He hissed, using his wand to push her out of the way, making her fall into the wall. Hermione ran over to her, making sure she was alright.
"Leave my daughter alone." Black snapped, stepping forward, only to be stopped when Snape raised his wand again. I saw him look over at Lexi, his face full of worry for her. I reached behind me and grabbed my wand out of my pocket, quickly hitting Snape with a stunning spell before he could blink, making everyone look at me as he flew across the room and landed on the floor.
"Tell me about Pettigrew." I said, pointing my wand at Black.
"He was at school with us. We thought he was our friend." Lupin said. "When your parent's house was put under the Fidelious charm, Sirius was their secret keeper."
"But we switched." Black said, still looking at Lexi who was still sat on the floor with Mione. "It was obvious that I would be your parent's secret keeper, and Pettigrew offered to swap with me. We told Remus that they were going to switch, but we never told anyone when the switch was made, not even Dumbledore. I was supposed to be there that night with you and your mother."
"Then why weren't you?" Lexi asked as she stood, Mione following suit.
"I was working late. I told your mother to wait for me, but she still went anyway. I was coming to join you when I saw Hagrid leaving the house, or what was left of it. I panicked. I didn't know if any of you were still alive." He said, moving closer to her. "After I took you to Remus, I went after Pettigrew. I cornered him in the street, but he shouted, accusing me of betraying James and Lilly, before blowing up the street. I thought he was dead until I saw a picture of him in the paper." I looked at Ron, knowing he was referring to when the Weasley's were on the front page of the prophet, Scabbers with them.
"Why should we believe you?" Mione asked, putting her hand on Lexi's shoulder.
"Give me the rat and I'll show you." He said, only looking at Lexi.
"No!" Ron said, making Lexi look at him. I watched as she walked across the room and knelt down in front of him.
"Ron, if he isn't Pettigrew then he won't be hurt. But please, give him to me." She asked, her voice pleading.
"Why are you helping them?" He asked, clutching Scabbers to his chest.
"I have spent my whole life being told that my father is the reason my mother is dead. I need to know the truth. Please." I saw him hesitate before nodding, letting her take the struggling rat from his grasp. "Thank you." She breathed before standing up and turning around to face Black and Lupin. "You have to promise me that unless he is Pettigrew, you won't hurt him."
"I promise." Black said, a sincere look on his face. "Put him on the table." He picked up Snape's wand as Lexi put the rat on the table, jumping out of the way quickly. Both Black and Lupin quickly shot a spell at him and we watched in shock as the rat grew, changing into a short, chubby man.
"Pettigrew." Lexi whispered. He looked at Lexi and stepped towards her, a look of panic on his face.
"Alexis, don't believe them! The father who was never there, the uncle who lied to you." He went to grab her arm but was pulled back by Black as I pulled her closer to me.
"Don't speak to my daughter!" He snapped, standing between Pettigrew and Lexi.
"Remus please, he's trying to kill me." He begged as he looked towards Lupin.
"And so he should!" He snapped, raising his wand.
"Wait!" I said, making them freeze. "Let's take him to the castle."
"Harry…" Lupin started as Pettigrew grabbed onto my leg, thanking me.
"Get off!" I snapped, yanking my leg out of his grip. "I said we'd take you to the castle. Then we'd let the Dementors have you."
"You believe me?" Black asked, looking at me in shock. I nodded before turning to Lexi, who was looking at her feet.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked, making her bite her lip.
"I couldn't. If I told you, you'd have thought that I'd help him." She said.
"No I wouldn't." I replied, making her look up.
"And anyway, how could I tell you? 'Oh, by the way, Sirius Black is my Dad. Pass the eggs.' Like that would have gone down well." She said with a dry laugh.
"I don't understand any of this." Ron said, looking at Pettigrew. "How?"
"That is what I would like to know as well." Lupin said, glaring at Pettigrew. "Why did you sell out James and Lilly?"
"I didn't have a choice!" He said. "He would have killed me if I didn't tell him. What would you have done?"
"Died! I would have died before selling out my friends!" Sirius snapped. Pettigrew backed away, right into Lexi who was stood behind him. He spun to face her and grabbed her arms.
"Sweet girl. Don't let them take me. You understand!" He said. Sirius and Lupin stepped forward, ready to pull Pettigrew away when Lexi pulled her fist back and punched him in the face, making him fall to the floor.
"That is for selling out the Potters, getting my mum killed, sending my father to prison for my whole life, and for calling me sweet." She snapped, stepping over him and walking over to the rest of us, Sirius looking at her in shock while Lupin laughed.
"Like I said, she gets it from you." Lupin said, patting Sirius on his arm. "Let's get back to the castle." He grabbed Pettigrew, dragging him out of the room while Sirius put his arm around Ron's shoulder, taking most of his weight so that he didn't put any on his clearly broken leg.
"Sorry about the leg." He said as we walked down the tunnel. "I tend to forget how sharp the teeth are. James used to joke that I would make a good pet."
"He'd get on with Jarvis." Hermione said, making Lexi laugh as we walked. We soon reached the hole at the whomping willow, which Lupin must have stunned since it was still.
"Harry, can I have a word with you?" Sirius asked, making me follow him slightly away from the others. "I don't know if you know, but your parent's made me your Godfather."
"I know." I said, smiling slightly.
"I'll be a free man once we turn Pettigrew in. I want to be a real Father to Alexis. She deserves it." He said, looking over his shoulder at where Lexi was talking to Mione. "If you want, you can live with us." I looked at him in shock, making him smirk. "Unless you want to stay with your aunt and uncle of course."
"Of course I don't. Why would I?" I replied, making him laugh. "I'd love to live with you and Lexi."

I glanced at Harry and Dad talking and smiled. I finally had my Dad back! Soon, everyone will know the truth about what happened that night and Dad and I can be a real family.
"Alexis?" I looked up to see Dad stood behind me, a smile on his face. "I believe this is yours." He pulled my necklace off and placed it around my neck, making my put my hand over the butterfly as he ran a hand through my hair. "You are so beautiful. You Look just like you mother, but you have my hair."
"What's going to happen now?" I asked, noticing that Mione had walked away from us.
"We hand Pettigrew in and I become a free man." He said, making me smile. "Then, you can either go back to living with Remus, or you can come and live with me."
"Of course I'll live with you!" I said, making him smile. I threw my arms around him, resting my head on his chest. He froze for a moment before gently wrapping his arms around me, resting his head on mine. "Will we live at Black Manor? I've stayed there with Tonks before when Uncle Remmy was having his time of the month." He laughed at my nickname for Uncle Remmy's wolf form.
"If that's alright with you." He said, running a hand through my hair again.
"I just have one request." I said as we pulled away, making him frown. "Can we please find a way to remove Grandma's portrait from the wall? It's scary!" He laughed, smiling so brightly that you'd find it hard to believe he spent 13 years in Azkaban. His laugh suddenly died in his throat as he saw something behind me. I turned to see the moon break free of the cloud cover and froze as I saw the same thing as him. The full moon.
"Uncle Remus." I breathed, turning to look at him. Dad ran past me, grabbing Uncle Remus and dragging him towards the forest as he struggled.
"I'll take care of him! Run! Get Pettigrew to Dumbledore!" He shouted, still struggling with Uncle Remus.
"DAD!" I shouted before Pettigrew grabbed my arm, pulling me backwards.
"You stupid girl." He hissed in my ear, dragging me away from my friends. "You are coming with me. I will find the Dark Lord and be rewarded for handing you to him."
"Like hell." I said, stamping on his foot and breaking free of his grasp. I had just grabbed my wand when he turned into a rat and ran away before I could grab him. I turned to see Uncle Remus stood in the middle of the grass in his werewolf form, Dad nowhere to be found.
"Potter!" I looked to the side to see Snape grab Harry, before spinning and standing in a protective stance in front of Harry, Ron and Hermione as he caught sight of Uncle Remus. Uncle Remus started towards them, only for my Dad to jump on him in his animagus form, pushing him to the ground and getting his focus on him. I watched in horror as they fought, Dad eventually throwing Uncle Remus close to the forest, where he ran into the cover of the trees. I looked back to Dad to see him limping out of sight, just turning back to human before he disappeared over the hill.
"Dad." I gasped, running forward and past Snape before he could grab me.
"Black! Potter!" He shouted as I ran, barely away of footsteps behind me. I ran to the lake and saw Dad lying unconscious on the ground, making me run up to him, falling to my knees at his side.
"Dad." I said, shaking his shoulder as tears sprang to my eyes. "Dad! Wake up! Please! Wake up!" I saw movement and looked up to see Harry knelt on his other side before looking back at Dad, willing for his eyes to open.
"Lexi! Dementors!" Harry said, but I ignored him.
"Please Dad! Wake up!" I cried. I heard Harry trying to ward the Dementors off, but knew that he wasn't doing well.
"Think happy thoughts Lexi." He said, but how could I? I had just gotten my Dad back, and now I may lose him! I felt myself getting weaker and weaker as I begged for Dad to open his eyes. I saw a bright light emit from the other side of the lake, but could only look at my Dad's face as my eyes closed involuntarily, my head falling onto Dad's torso the last thing I registered before everything went black.
