AN: So I meant to get this up yesterday, but it was St. Patrick's Day the day before that. So I imagine that you all can extrapolate that information. Anywho, I hope you all enjoy.

Chapter 8

Felicia landed in the bedroom window of her and Peter's apartment just as it starting to rain. She was tired and confused from the fight with the Jade Syndicate. She was glad to be home. The lights were out, leaving the room in darkness except for the light from the city. Peter slept in the bed, sound asleep, his naked chest rising and falling with each deep breath.

Felicia stumbled into the bedroom alone, Emma having broke off to sleep in her hotel. Felicia unzipped her outfit, let it fall to the floor and walked over to the walk-in closet. She pulled out one of Peter's t-shirts with the Horizon Labs logo, and a pair of sweatpants. She went back into the bedroom and hung her Black Cat suit on a hanger in a hidden compartment.

She took a minute to look at herself in the mirror and think about what she just went through. Not catching the thieves was a pain, but hardly the thing that was weighing on her mind. The weird conversation that occurred when she passed out left her wondering about what exactly was the reason for why the Jade Syndicate was going after the Tomb's Guardians. Sure, greed was the most likely reason, but could there be more to their thefts?

Felicia noticed that she was touching her neckline. The necklace she had been given was no longer there, but it felt like it was. Felicia had no clue what the goddess had meant by 'the scales being tipped in her favor'. All she knew was that she was lucky that police were closer than usual to respond to the theft in progress. She was even luckier that crew dropped their loot on the way out. It would force them to make another move to recover it.

Felicia sighed as she turned out the light in the closet and went back to the bed room. She tussled her hair with one hand as she lifted up the covers and slid under. She then cuddled up to Peter.

'I guess I'm also lucky I have this to.' Felicia though to herself as she smiled and fell asleep.

Felicia woke up to the strong smell of coffee. On the nightstand beside her a fresh steaming cup with a note from Peter was there. Felicia smiled as she gabbed the cup with one hand and read the note.

'Sorry babe. Had to leave early. Cleaned up the big pieces yesterday, but now we need to sterilize. Here's coffee as an apology. I love you – Peter.'

"Dork." Felicia said as she smiled and took a cautious sip. Peter typically burned the coffee. A smooth roast flowed over her tongue at the perfect temperature this morning though. "Hmmm. Small miracles."

Felicia walked out of her building an onto the street. It was wet from the rain the previous night, but thankfully had stopped. Puddles were stagnated at the edge of the road and base of the sidewalk. She started to walk down the sidewalk to the road and pulled out her phone. She called detective McCann.

"McCann. How can I help?" Came the tired voice of the NYPD detective.

"Detective. This is Felicia Hardy." She said.

"Ah. How's it goin'?" He asked.

"Fine. And how is your case going?" Felicia asked as she walked.

"All right. Thanks for the head up." McCann said thankfully.

"What do you mean?" she asked holding her breath.

"Your assistant. Karin?" McCann said.

Felicia exhaled. "Ah yes. She's very helpful."

"Yeah. Told us that the people who hit the port might hit a private collection last night. We got there just in time to scare them off." McCann said with pride. "Stopped them dead in their tracks. Bastards got away but, dropped the loot."

"Did you take it as evidence?" She asked in a concerned manner.

"No. Dumb rich people decided that they would just move it to a safe deposit. Since it wasn't actually stolen, we can't claim it as evidence. Owners a free to do as they wish with it." McCann grumbled.

Felicia walked along. She found it hard to believe that owners wouldn't take greater care of their property. "How are they goin to move it."

"Police escort. About the only smart thing they are doin' in my opinion."

"Well you might like to know, I think I figured out who is pulling these jobs."

"Who?"

"Group known as The Jade Syndicate. Ex-Members of various criminal, terrorist, and villainous groups now using their training and equipment to make money for themselves. If the NYPD is providing the escort, and that is the only time the statue will be in the open, then they will hit hard to get it." Felicia explained.

"Ms. Hardy, we're the NYPD. We're some of the hardest guys in the world in the hardest city in the world." McCann said confidently. "I'll let you know if we catch these guys, or the first statue."

Felicia was about to give her thanks when a bus rolled through a puddle on the road. The splash caused a wave that soaked everyone one the sidewalk. Felicia was amazed that she was dry though. At the exact moment the bus passed, she had been walking past an old telephone booth that had somehow not been taken down, blocking the wave of fetid water.

"Wow." Felicia said in disbelief.

"What?" McCann asked unable to see what transpired.

"Bus just splashed through a puddle. I was behind a phone booth, stayed dry." She explained.

"Phone booth huh? Haven't seen one of those in a long time. Sounds like you got lucky." McCann said.

"I guess so."

Felicia had a wonderful day. She had gotten ahead on her casework by clearing three critical investigations. The victories landed her in the good graces of Alex Maines, her boss, and on the short list to be the primary agent for the Southeast Homes, Infrastructure, and Land Development. In fact, Felicia had a quick conversation with the account representative, an older Caucasian man named Nicholas with a dashing eyepatch. Funny enough, the case load today was remarkably easy.

The first break was surveillance on a man claiming a work-related injury. Felicia got photos of the man playing racquetball at a gym. Kinda hard to keep appearances of a neck injury from falling objects when you are playing a high intensity game with a lot of movement. Felicia finished that case almost right away.

Right before lunch Felicia broke the second case. A family was moving some heirlooms around and claimed to lose a painting. Felicia found the paining by checking a storage facility held by one of the family members. No one in the family though that the man responsible was trying to commit a crime, they just though he was stupid.

The last case was so easy it cleared itself. A man stole a Ferrari after dibbling it's electronic monitoring and other anti-theft features. Unfortunately, the left tail light broken and he was pulled over by the police. Felicia laughed because the Ferrari was stolen from a repair center in the city for foreign cars. The thief clearly did not think that one out.

Now she walked into her place ready to get ready to look over a police convoy to a bank. Det. McCann had given her the time they were escorting for her files. But Black Cat was going to be on scene just in case.

"Peter!" She called out. "I got something fun for us tonight!"

"Umm. Don't think that I'll be able to help." Peter called back.

"Why not?"

"Come and see."

Felicia walked from the atrium to the bedroom. The scenario in front of her was hilarious. Peter was on his side of the bed, his right hand on the nightstand, covered in web fluid that was hard as a rock. He was effectively trapped. The look of displeasure on his face was as though he was trying to melt the fluid with his eyes.

Felicia started to laugh. "Oh…my…god." She stated gasping and holding her sides. "What happened?"

"I was testing a new web fluid in the shooters. Hardens faster and stronger. Good news is the fluid works, bad news, the pressure was too much and the shooters exploded. Now I'm stuck." Peter groaned. "Damn Parker Luck. I left the solvent back in the lab."

"Oh. I could make the situation better I think." Felicia said as she sauntered up to the trapped scientist. She climbed onto his lap and began to caress his face and chest.

"Babe, you said you had something fun? I'm assuming nighttime work related?" Peter said trying to divert her mind.

Felicia stopped her teasing. Just when she thought she was lucky enough to have Peter under her thumb, unable to escape her charm, he brings up a valid point.

"Guess it's me and Emma again." Felicia said as she went to the closet to pull out het cat suit. Since Peter wasn't totally falling for her seduction, she decided to punish him by teasing him.

She came back into the room and began to slowly take off her daytime work attire, maintaining eye contact with Peter the entire time. First came the jacket, then the skirt, and finally the shirt. Felicia made it a point to leave he heels on while she turned and looked in the mirror to make sure her make-up was still fine. She made sure to bend over to give her boyfriend of her rear.

Peter watched the whole time, shifting uncomfortable. "Shouldn't you be moving quicker with a crime about to occur?" He asked

"Police aren't moving for a few hours, plenty of time to make sure I'm ready." Felicia said as she turned to face him again. "Do you think that I should change my bra?" she asked pointing to her chest. The lacy black garment was designed to provide the most support by lifting up.

"I….um…I'd go with something that is more breathable…given the physical activity you plan on doing." Peter stubbled through his reasoning.

"You right Petey. You're so smart."

Felicia turned to walk to the closet again. As she walked away, she unhooked her bra and through it on the bed, leaving her unsupported as she walked to the dresser in the closet.

"Ughhhh!" Peter groaned.

Felicia smiled as she heard that and put on athletic bra and panties. She walked into the bedroom again and put on her leather suit and mask. She tied up her hair in a pony-tail and moved over the bedroom window. As she waled by she noticed the tent in Peter's pants.

"Stay here until I get back." Felicia issued the order as a joke.

"Okay hon. Love you."

Felicia jumped out the window and swung off to her next job.

"Crap. I should have asked for the T.V. remote before she left." Peter mused regrettably. "Hey Karin." Peter asked to a computer.

"Yes?" the AI asked

"Any way you could turn on the T.V.?"

"Certainly." Karin said. The T.V. turned on to Predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura.

"Good choice." Peter said as he leaned back. "How long until the fluid dissolves?"

"98 minutes." Karin responded. "The run time for the movie is 107 minutes.

"Perfect."

AN: So yeah. Felicia was extremely lucky. Personally I was really glad that Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, cause that means I can now make Predator references. That is tied for the greatest movie ever with Die Hard. Fun Fact, Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger were both governors at the same at the end of 2003. Bet that no one saw that coming when the movie came out.
