Boom! Another chapter fresh out of the oven!
Glad to see you all are enjoying the series so far! Wish I could have gotten this out earlier, but… heh, Kingdom Hearts III called. Surprisingly, I actually started working on this a month ago, and I was surprised by how recently I had published at the time. I couldn't believe that it had only been about a couple of months, and I was actually happy that I was wanting to write again so soon. I started playing some games again and that's why this chapter is coming out now.
Thanks for all your reviews so far, and I look forward to see how you may enjoy this chapter as well!
For the record: Kenny is NOT becoming an indoraptor. He's fine the way he is, and Blue loves him for that.

Jurassic Lands Chapter 14: Gemini
[Gondola Valley - September 17th, 2010]
[Skye's POV]
I shrieked, I couldn't stop the bloodcurdling scream that raced out of my mouth as I rolled on the ground, over and over. Screaming and crying was all that I could do as I felt the excruciating pain in my neck and my limbs before me. I couldn't even move my claws, and in my rapidly fading vision, I could see the bones sticking out from where they were. They were covered in a thick red liquid, and it was pooling all around me. I was just as terrified for Terra as I could see he was for me. The blood coming from his neck looked like it was never going to end, and I tried to reach over to him… I wanted to be holding him in case… but I couldn't move. As soon as I tried to, I felt like my arms had hot knives being shoved into them, and the pain was so severe I started to jerk and twitch as my vision faded.
"OH MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?!" A voice yelled, but I couldn't even lift my head or open my eyes to find out what it was, everything just felt so heavy...
"This wasn't a dinosaur, it looks like they were hit by a car. Angela, get the others ready to stabilize them!" Another voice said, and this one sounded so far away and muffled. "Jess, help me lift them into the chopper, and be-"
[Three days later - Isla Matanceros]
"Hello? Can you two hear me?" I heard a female voice ask, and my eyes slowly opened as I woke. I groaned in a mix of pain and drowsiness, and when my vision cleared, I saw a human in front of me. In that instant, I started kicking and screaming, and wound up falling off of a table and onto a cold, hard surface. The yelp I made woke up Terra, and although he yelled and kicked as he got to his feet, he jumped onto the floor and ran over to me. The humans raised their arms, and we bolted for any shelter we could find, which was just under another table.
"Please, we're not trying to harm you… we just want to help." The other human female said, not raising her voice to try and keep us calm, but it wasn't working. She slowly reached out to us, but Terra snapped at her and made her jerk back. He looked over at me, and then glanced at my claws, and that's when I saw the color vanish from his face.
I looked down at my claws, and screamed when I saw that I didn't have any. All that was there, was a white stump that had a faint red tint to it. My claws were… gone, they were gone. Terra was the first to snap out of this, and he charged the human reaching out to us. Although he didn't even reach her knees, he made her stumble and knock something off a table that made a loud clang when it hit the floor.
"Hey! What's going on?" A third human demanded and came in, holding something like what was pointed at mommy, and I held on tight to Terra. One of the human females put their hand on it and pushed it away.
"What are you thinking?! These two were just shot and you want to point another gun at them?" She asked the male, and the younger female softened up some when she saw us shaking.
"Sarah, we don't even know what those things are! Don't forget that raptors are lethal at a young age too!" The human said. "How many times have we been attacked when trying to rehabilitate them?"
"It's an occupational hazard, you'd understand too if you were in their situation. The female over there was ran over, why would someone even do that, and then shoot them afterwards?" Sarah asked. "They were still moving when we got there, so it had to have been recent, meaning whoever did this just left them to die. The staff there do not kill dinosaurs if they escape, and we found no tranquilizers in them, so that obviously wasn't tried."
"Hey Sarah? I think I might have an idea as to what these two are." The younger female said. "They have frills like dilophosaurai, and their eyes and feathers kinda glow like those troodon I encountered. Hey Rick, dim the lights, I think they're having trouble seeing in here."
The human male did that, and I was able to more comfortably look around now. I looked over at Terra, and saw that he was confused like I was, but he tilted his head when they said the species that were in our pack.
"Oh yeah, you did encounter them didn't you Jess?" Sarah asked, and looked down at us. "Hmm, seems like they recognized the names of those species. But if they have traits of both, they may be hybrids."
"Is that possible? They're completely different species." Jess asked. "The only thing they have in common is that they're both poisonous."
"Apparently it is. I'm wondering where their parents are though, with children this young, they wouldn't have let them out of their sight." Sarah said, and gasped when she saw our eyes watering up and heard us start sniffling. "Oh no, I'm sorry… did you get separated from them when this happened?"
I looked down at the floor, and remembered seeing mommy and daddy get attacked with sharp needles and a black box, and then stop moving. I remembered their screams and cries, and those of our friends as we tried to escape from the humans attacking us. I didn't understand why these ones didn't attack us, we were in terrible pain and then fell asleep. Then we woke up here, are these humans why we weren't like mommy and daddy? I didn't know anything, and the more I thought about it, the more sad I got, and the same went for Terra.
"Sarah… I don't-I don't think they were just separated…" Jess whispered.
"Alright, well… let's give them some space, they're still in shock from what happened." Sarah said. "Let's come back later today or tomorrow."
Jess nodded and the three of them left the room while Terra and I held on tight to each other and sobbed.

[9 months later, June 21st, 2011]
"{Why? Why won't you tell us?}" I asked Jess, curious and a bit worried as to why shouldn't tell us where she was taking us. It had been a while since we woke up here on this island so long ago, and these two siblings started showing us around, and helping us cope with the trauma we experienced. They normally told us everything, so I was confused as to why they weren't answering us this time.
"Because Skye, it's a surprise. It wouldn't be as exciting or special if I just told you." Jess said, and I was thankful that they had something in their ears that allowed them to understand us. I don't know where they got them though, but I think it was from people named Simon and Yumi. "Just remember though, try to stay calm. It may be a surprise, but we don't want to scare you."
"{Okay…}" Terra agreed, not knowing what to make of this. I nodded too, and followed Jess down the hall, able to keep up with her due to being taller now, just past her knees.
"Surprise!" A bunch of voices yelled, and I was so shocked by the sudden noise that I screeched and stumbled back, ultimately falling on my side.
"{I-Is… this it?}" I stammered after several moments, and Jess nodded. She came over to help me up, since I was missing at least half of my arms. "{Thanks.}"
"Happy birthday Terra and Skye!" Sarah said, waving us over to her. As we came over, we looked around and noticed a bunch of colored eggs floating in the air, long and thin pieces of paper, and what looked like shiny grass on the tables.
"{Birth...day?}" Terra asked, as completely and utterly confused as I was.
"{What's that?}" I wonder.
"It's a celebration of another year since you were born, or hatched in your case." Sarah explains. "We wanted to show you what this was like, since we think of you as part of our family."
"Yeah, and since this is your first, or… well… eighth year in your case, we wanted it to be very special." Jess added. "Plus that's why we're having it outside, so that we can all enjoy the nice cool weather."
"{Ummm… thanks? I… don't know what to make of this… this… it's so unfamiliar.}" I say, embarrassed some at not knowing how to express my appreciation.
"{Yeah… what do we do?}" Terra wonders. "{Are we supposed to do something?}"
"You're welcome Skye, and you too Terra." Sarah says. "As for what we do, we can play games, eat cake, and we got some gifts for you two. You're not really supposed to do anything per se, just relax and enjoy yourselves."
"{Gifts?}" I wondered, not sure what those were.
"Yeah, they're special things you give to others to brighten up their lives, and we found a couple things you two might enjoy." Jess said and gestured to the ground next to her.
We came over to her and sat down on the placemat that was set up next to the picnic tables, and a colorful box was set next to Terra, and a long, short one by me.
"Terra, your gift is inside there." Jess told him, then turned to me. "Skye, yours isn't exactly ready yet, but we figured showing you what you were going to get is a gift itself. I'll help you open yours Skye."
Terra used his claws to cut open the box, and started pulling apart the cardboard, while Jess opened mine up. When it was finally open, I was confused as to why there was nothing in it, other than a blue piece of paper.
"Skye, this is a diagram of prosthetic limbs that we can give you, so that you can use your claws again." Sarah said.
Once I heard that, I found myself running over to them and pressing my body against them. I nuzzled my head against their legs, and couldn't stop chirping as I tried my best to hug them. Once Sarah began gently stroking my head, I started making soft clicking noises and smiling. I couldn't believe that I was going to get claws again, I didn't even think that it was possible.
I felt something poking my back, and I turned around to see some dinosaur head inches away from my face, and it snarled. I screeched and nearly scratched Sarah as I scrambled to get behind her, but when I heard Terra laughing and he dropped the head, I started growling at him. I ran out and grabbed the lid to my box, and started chasing Terra while smacking his head with the lid. The people around us started laughing as I chased my brother around the picnic tables and got him back.
"Alright, alright, that's enough you two." Jess said and picked up Terra, while Sarah grabbed the lid I was using to attack him. "We got some cards for you two as well."
"Hey Terra, Skye, think you'll be able to read them?" Sarah asked with a smile. I stopped to look at her, and saw her opening two envelopes. Sarah and Jess had been teaching us how to read, and I hope that I've been doing a good job. Sarah handed me my card, and held it open so I could read it. It was decorated with more pretty colors, and it had a bunch of swirly lines and those eggs connected to strings.
"If I could give one thing to you, I know what that would be; that all of your dreams and wishes would come true. You have been a wonderful daughter to me. I have treasured all of the times that we have spent together in this last year, and with each passing day, my love for you has only grown. I look forward to all the days we will have together in the future as well, and I can't wait to experience them all with you. Happy Birthday Skye." The handwritten note read.
Once I finished reading that, I pressed myself against Sarah and started crying into her shirt. I know Sarah and Jess took care of us, and although I called them by their names, I occasionally slipped up and called them "mom". They've told me that they didn't care what I called them, they'd still love me no matter what. I smiled and cood when I felt Sarah's hands stroking my neck, and it made my heart race for them.
I pulled out of the hug some and looked at the drawing for my claws again, then back to Sarah's hands. Something started to dawn on me and so I tried to nudge Sarah's hands, but she was confused and started to pull them away until she realized I wanted to show her something. I hopped up on the table and tapped the drawing with my feet, and pressed her hand over the drawing. I tried my best to balance on one leg and tap her fingers.
"What is it Skye?" Sarah wondered, still not sure what I was trying to say.
"{You have five fingers.}" I say, smiling up at her as I tapped her fingers. "{Can I get that?}"
"Ummm, I don't know Skye. The species that you're made up of only has three digits on each claw." Sarah said, and sighed when I lowered my head.
"{But… I want that…}" I whined, and looked at the ground.
Sarah looked over at Jess, who shrugged and looked at the drawings for my claws.
"Maybe…. Maybe it would be possible?" Jess said. "Definitely wouldn't be easy though, if we messed up, she may not be able to use her arms at all."
"Well… I don't want to say no Skye, because I don't want to make any promises I can't keep, but we will think about it." Sarah said. "Is that alright with you?"
"{Yeah, I can settle for that.}" I agree, slightly smiling now.
"Look what we got for you two!" Jess called, and I looked up to see a bright and colorful piece of food get placed on the table. I smiled when I saw that it said "Happy birthday Terra and Skye!" and that it had a bunch of candles on top of it. "You should make a wish before you blow them out."
"Although, one of us should probably blow them out." Sarah chuckled, and I agreed with a nod of my head. We couldn't blow like they could, and if we tried to, we'd probably get our toxic saliva on the cake. As Sarah blew out the candles on the cake, I looked over at Terra, and it was like we were both thinking the same thing. We were so thankful that we had people willing to care for us, to raise us and help us back into the world, but it still felt like something was missing, and we both knew what.
"{Ummm… S-s-s-sarah?}" I said, trying to pick up my words so as to say this clearly. "{Can… can we say w-what we want t-t-to wish for?}"
"Well, you're not really-" Sarah started to say, but Jess cut her off.
"Sarah, that tradition is stupid and you know it. How are people supposed to know what to give as gifts next time if people don't say it?" Jess asked, and Sarah chuckled.
"Well, I suppose it can't hurt." Sarah agreed.
"{I wish… I wish that I could experience this with… with my pack.}" I said, and I heard Sarah and Jess gasp at that.
"{I know we think of you all as our pack, our family… but… we still feel like something is missing.}" Terra said. "{We just, we feel uneasy knowing other parts of our family are still out there.}"
"Terra, Skye, I… don't know how to tell you this, but… we don't know if your pack is still ali-alright." Sarah said after a long pause. "When we found you two, we only found you, we didn't see any others."
"{But we were caught, our mom and dad were having everyone move to another spot!}" I said. "{They have to be there!}"
"Where could they be? They couldn't run around the park areas without getting noticed." Jess asked. "And the restricted areas aren't entirely empty."
"{They ran into the tunnels under the island, the old ones.}" Terra noted.
"I thought those were sealed off?" Jess asked Sarah, who simply shrugged.
"Even still, we don't think it would be safe to just shove you into an unfamiliar environment where people may try to hurt you like before." Sarah sighed. "I'm sorry."
"{But… please… I just want to be with my pack again.}" I pleaded, voice starting to crack, and I lowered my head towards the ground.
"Skye… do you really want to leave us?" Sarah asked.
"{NO!}" I yelled, making them jump at the sudden shout as I looked up at them. I immediately became nervous again and looked at the ground. "{I-I mean… I don't know… I really love this place, I love everyone here too. I don't want to leave all this, but… I just can't shake this pit in me. I want to see other members of my family, but I'm not ready to leave…}"
Terra came over to me and laid next to me as Jess pulled Sarah away and whispered to her out of earshot. I smiled down at him, but even I knew that he could see how weak it was. I didn't know what Sarah or Jess would say, but I also wasn't sure what I wanted them to say. A few minutes later though, I was given an answer.
"We have good news and bad news for you two." Jess said. "The bad news is that you two aren't going back to Isla Nublar anytime soon."
"The good news however, is we're willing to give you two a chance." Sarah said. "Terra, you'll have an easier time as of right now, but Skye, there is no way we're letting you leave without fully-functioning claws for your arms. I want you to be comfortable with them and well educated in how to use them."
"{However long it takes, I'm willing to wait.}" I said, standing up fully and cracked a smile.
"I'm glad you understand." Sarah sighed, cracking a smile herself now. "Why don't we have some cake and we can discuss this more tomorrow?"
I nodded at that and laid down next to Sarah at the table, and smiled as she cut me a slice of cake, and set it on a plate before giving it to me. She did the same with Terra, and once we got our first taste of this cake, we fell in love with it. I couldn't wait to show the other members of my pack what a birthday was…

Isla Nublar - Old Innovation Center]
"{Goodbye mom…}" I said, hugging Sarah tight as I called her what she's been for me all these months, ever since I first woke up in that one room all that time ago. I still wasn't sure about this, but I knew it was what I wanted to do. Sarah and Jess had been so generous for me, so supportive in their training of us to ensure we could survive here. "{I love you so much, thank you for everything.}"
"It's not going to be goodbye." Jess said, looking over at us while she hugged Terra as well. "As we discussed, we're going to see each other at least once a year, maybe twice a year to run check-ups on you, and adjust your prosthetics as needed."
"Plus, you have that phone I gave you in case you have an emergency." Sarah said, slowly letting go. "Promise to stay safe?"
"{I promise I'll do my best~}" I said, which made Sarah and Jess laugh. "{Hopefully I'll be able to get a better phone in one of these visits.}"
"Hey, just keep that one safe for now. I don't want to get an email from you saying it got dropped in a puddle or off a cliff." Sarah said, making me laugh too now.
"We love both of you too, don't ever forget that." Jess said, and we agreed as we let go. "Come on Sarah, we should get going. Hoskins is going to be asking us why we haven't arrived yet."
I had to suppress a growl when I heard that, just hearing that name made my blood boil. I waved goodbye to Sarah and Jess, and held onto the coat that was made for me (partly so I would have a place to keep my phone) as we walked towards the old innovation center. We weren't that far from it, but we asked Sarah and Jess to not get too close so we didn't alert our pack. It turned out though, that it wouldn't have made any difference.
"{There-there's no one here!}" Terra said once we found and got inside the lobby of the innovation center, looking around with his mouth slightly open, and turned back to me. "{It's deserted!}"
"{Quiet captain obvious, we don't know that for sure.}" I said, looking around for myself and sniffing the area.
"{Skye, I don't see or smell any recent tracks, no meat, no disturbances, nothing.}" Terra said. "{No one is nesting here.}"
I didn't want to believe it though, so I kept looking for several minutes, and then my eyes fell on some dried blood on a rock at the corner of the lobby. "{Apparently you didn't look very hard. Come on.}"
"{Is it fresh?}" Terra wondered, and I shook my head.
"{No it isn't. It's pretty old, but… there is a bit of a scent to it. It kinda smells like our blood. Well, not ours.}" I said and looked out the window into the forest.
"{You don't say?}" Terra asked, and I rolled my eyes at the snide tone in his voice.
"{Shut up and follow me Terra.}" I said, and started to step out when I felt him grab my shoulder.
"{Woah, are you sure about this? We don't know where that goes, who it belongs to, or if they're friendly.}" He said.
"{No, I'm not, but do you have any better ideas?}" I asked, and looked back at him to see him scratching his head. "{We don't have all night to search, and we can't afford to be spotted by the security here. If we do, then we'll end up just like... - anyways, this is our only lead. We just have to trust our instincts and follow where it leads.}"
"{I hate that you're older than me… smarty.}" He says, and I couldn't stifle the laugh that came from me after that.
"{Only by six minutes silly.}" I said, and hopped out the window. "{Let's go.}"
We followed the trail as best we could, as quietly as possible, and it took us on quite the journey. It led us through a large open field, with gallimimus visible in the distance, and we had to keep ourselves from becoming distracted by the stars in the sky as we went forth. After a while, our trail came to an end when we were stopped by a large fence with thick cables running across them.
"{Awwwww…}" I groaned, knowing that this was an electric fence, and that we couldn't keep following the trail.
Terra however, had different plans. He stepped closer, and despite my repeated warnings, he picked up a stick and threw it at the cables, which bounced off with a soft thud. "{See? It's not on.}"
"{LIke you knew that.}" I huffed and looked away, but shrieked when I heard him yell as he grabbed them and fell off. "{TERRA!}"
"{Gotcha- OW! STOP IT! OW! ACK!}" He tried to say, but yelped as I swatted at him with my new claws. "{Those hurt! Sheesh!}"
"{Are you trying to get us caught?!}" I snarl and stand over him. "{We are trying to find others in our family, and you think that means it's okay to play jokes?}"
"{Hey! Lighten up, there's no one around, we're fine}." He protested, and huffed as I walked over to the fence after kicking dirt at him. "{Sourpuss.}"
After we climbed through the fence and kept moving forward, I heard several growls that made the feathers on my back stand on end. I should have known Terra would cause this to happen… he just had to say there was no one around. Yeah, and those glowing eyes and feathers around us were just my imagination.
"{Who are you, and how did you find us?}" The one before us said, and the purple feathers on his body cast an unnerving glow on his scales.
"{I-I-I-I-I-I-I'm S-s-skye…}" I said, shaking as I didn't know what to do or say to avoid getting eaten. Sarah had taught us as best she could what to do if we encountered dilophosaurai, but she wasn't here, and these definitely weren't dilophosaurai. "{This is m-m-m-m-my brother Terra.}"
"{We-we found some blood in a place back that way… and we th-th-thought it might l-lead to our family…}" Terra said, stammering just like I was.
"{Ugh… Cobalt… I told you to not hunt without others…}" The dinosaur in front of us muttered before looking back at us. "{You look just like us… mostly. Who is your family? You may have gotten separated from them.}"
"{Our...parents are...I-I… I…}" I tried to say, but wound up getting tears in my eyes as my voice started to crack even more. I found it to be a surprise, but when he saw them, the dinosaur in front of us softened up some.
"{Oh, I… I think I get what you're trying to say. Well, what were their names, we may have known them.}" He offered.
"{M-Maria and… Apoyo…}" I say, and heard him gasp.
"{They… survived? But… we missed them and-and now…}" He muttered, but that was enough for me to realize that he may be part of the pack we lost. I found myself stepping towards him. The other dinosaurs were less hostile now, and I ran towards the alpha along with Terra, who embraced us with open arms as we cried. "{I am so, so sorry for what you have suffered through, but… I promise, we'll take care of you. We'll keep you safe.}"
We were home...

[February 6th, 2016 - 2016 10:20 pm - Pterano Airstrip]
"{Cause you're the last of a dying breed, write our names in the wet concrete}" I sang as I held a blowtorch against a table and welded metal squares onto a frame in the shape of a claw while waiting for the huge metal glasses frames to cool.
"{SKYE!}" I heard a voice yell, and turned around to see that Spark had unplugged my radio and was walking over to me.
"{Huh?}" I asked, lifting up the custom welding goggles I made and saw my alpha tapping his claw against the concrete, and I chuckled while scratching my head. "{Heh, sorry about that.}"
"{Honestly, sometimes I hate your music, it's so hard to get your attention when you're listening to it.}" He sighed and walked over to me.
"{Sorry Spark, I have virtually zero free time, so… I just try to find ways to enjoy myself when I work.}" I apologized, setting down my tools and I took a sip from a cup of coffee I had. "{What's up?}"
"{I know, I'm going to talk to Ciera about letting you have free time. You shouldn't be so overworked.}" Spark said. "{Anyways, I came to talk to you about that human you're warming up to. He found the dam, and he attacked us. Luna almost lost her life.}"
"{What? Nononononono that can't be right.}" I protested, turning around to fully face him. "{I-I-I'm not questioning you or anything, but from my interactions with him he didn't seem anything like InGen. Terra and I even tossed the winch from his jeep over so he and that raptor girl he's with wouldn't die.}"
"{I know you're not questioning me, don't worry, I won't bitch at you like my sister.}" Spark reassured, and I let out a sigh at that. "{Look, I'm sorry, but I don't think that human is who you think he is.}"
"{Are you sure? We don't even know his name, we never even got to know him.}" I asked, and frowned when he shook his head.
"{Skye, not every human is as nice as Sarah or Jess. Every other human we've known has tried to capture us or kill us.}" Spark said, making me sigh as I thought back to how I couldn't bring myself to kill them, only give them an empty threat. "{This human was less than 20 feet away from stumbling across my kids. He would have had I not managed to bite him and knock him over the railing to the level below.}"
"{So then why do you need us to kill him? He should be brain dead by now.}" I wondered, taking another sip.
"{Well, the thing is, he didn't suffer any effects of our venom, not even after being bit twice.}" Spark said. "{We bit him twice, and nothing happened other than making him bleed. That should be impossible.}"
"{He really should be dead if that's the case… you really want us to kill him huh?}" I sighed, unwilling to keep my head held high as I looked at my cousin.
"{I just want Blaze, Pulse, and Nova to stay safe. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I lost them too.}" Spark sighed, his head hanging low now. "{I love them so much, they mean the world to me and Lilly.}"
Spark quietly gasped when he felt me hugging him, and sighed as he returned the favor. We stayed like this for about a minute until I released the hug.
"{I may not have wanted to kill this human, but… it makes me fucking pissed that he would threaten us and nearly managed to kill one of the mothers in our pack.}" I said. "{I promise you, he won't get away with this.}"
"{Thanks Skye, I really appreciate this.}" Spark said, cracking a smile, which he didn't often do. "{You should probably go tell Terra about this. I'll go see how Lilly is doing.}"
"{Sure thing.}" I agreed and went out of the workshop to find Terra talking to Ciera. "{What's going on?}"
"{Ciera is talking about us going on a hunt to take down some big game.}" Terra said, and sounded bored with the idea of doing it with Ciera..
"{You two are coming with us, we need your skills to take down this bitch.}" Ciera ordered.
"{Nah, we got more important things to take care of.}" I said, smirking at the opportunity to piss off Ciera even more.
"{Hey, I gave you two an order, so shut up and get your asses moving!}" Ciera growled.
"{Well guess what? Spark gave us an assignment, and since he outranks you, I don't have to listen to you.}" I sneered, grinning when Ciera growled even more.
"{Whatever he said can probably wait. We're taking down that T. Rex toni-}" Ciera started to say before getting slammed to the wall in a chokehold.
"{YOU'RE HUNTING REXY?!}" I snarled, tightening my grip to keep Ciera pinned. Several other troodons snarled at me, but Terra kept them back by threatening them with his frill open. "{That dinosaur was a close friend of our parents! How dare you hunt her and try to kill her!}"
"{That old hag was close with the humans! If she sympathizes with them then she is no better than them!}" Ciera growled at me, but I simply tossed her to the ground and ended up ruffling up her red feathers as I stood over her.
"{What? So you'd kill us too? Get your fucking priorities straight bitch.}" I growled, and turned away. "{Let's go Terra, we have work to do.}"

[February 7th, 2016 - 1:30 am] [3rd person POV]
"INSIDE! NOW!" Kenny yelled and shoved Blue inside the door, slamming it shut just in time to hear carpet getting torn outside as the two hybrids skidded to a stop. He immediately locked the door and slid the chain shut on the door to keep them out. Kenny's back was against the door, and he panted as he tried to speak up to the dinosaurs outside. "Okay, so you two are going to find this totally crazy, but dinos from your pack are alive, and so are your paren-"
"{SHUT THE FUCK UP! DON'T YOU DARE MENTION THEM YOU BASTARD!}" Skye yelled, and Kenny reached into the bathroom to put the trashcan against the door, along with anything he could find to buy some time."{I can't believe I thought you could be nice, a real good person, but then you attacked our alpha and a friend!}"
"I am nice! I don't want to fight!" Kenny tried to protest, but his voice stopped when he heard a clicking noise from behind the door. In the second that followed, he tackled Blue to the floor right as a gunshot rang out and blew a hole in the door. "BLUE! RUN!"
Blue wanted to ask Kenny where a dinosaur got a gun, but she knew that this was no time to question it. She and Kenny ran to the only place they could flee to: the deck on the outside of the room. As they ran, Kenny grabbed the swivel chair by the desk and tossed it at the door, drawing a pained yelp from Terra as the door slammed into his nose. Kenny opened up the sliding door and then slammed it and the screen shut before he looked down at the ground.
"We have to jump!" Kenny told Blue, and hopped over the railing and rolled once he hit the ground. He looked up and saw that Blue was still standing there with her jaw on the floor. "Come on, I'll catch you!"
"Are you crazy? I'll break a leg!" She yelled, and looked back to see the door to the room get busted open. With no time left to think, she climbed up onto the railing and stepped off. Her screams were cut short when she landed on Kenny, who tried to catch her but only managed to keep both of them from getting seriously hurt when they fell to the ground. Shattering glass was heard and a lamp fell right next to Kenny as they looked up, and saw Terra and Skye glaring down at them.
"GO! GET BACK TO MARIA'S!" Kenny yelled and pushed Blue to her feet. He looked back up and gasped before rolling to his side and nearly getting his face slashed by Skye's claws. As he was getting his bearings, he saw that Skye's eyes were burning with hatred, and toxic saliva dripped from her fangs. Not wasting a second, Kenny spun around and shot his boot into her mouth, making her screech as she held it with a claw.
Kenny sprung to his feet and yanked her cloak over her head, then swept her feet out from under her so he would have an opportunity to run after Blue, who was being chased by Terra. Kenny ran into the garage and climbed onto his motorcycle, revving it up and drove out of the garage. That was as far as he got though, because as soon as he was out the doors, something grabbed him and yanked him off of the motorcycle, sending it skidding along the asphalt. Kenny was tossed to the ground and confronted by Skye, who had tossed off her cloak and revealed her emerald green scales.
"{You aren't going anywhere…}" Skye growled as she approached Kenny, who tried to back up against the doorframe to the garage.
"Whatever you think I did to your friends, is wrong. I never went there to attack anyone…" I say, reaching behind the door for anything I could use to defend myself. "I promise, please just trust me."
"{Never.}" She simply stated, and lunged at Kenny right as he found something to use against her. The next thing she knew was sharp, throbbing pain as Kenny swung a wrench at her nose and kicked her face again with enough force to send her sprawling.
Kenny panted as he got up and tore the rifle off of her shoulder to keep her from using it. He ran over to his motorcycle to get it up, and drove off towards Maria's lab, grabbing Skye's cloak as he turned in the direction of the lab, hoping to get there before Skye could get her bearings and kill him.

Blue panted as she hid behind a wall on main street in front of the dairy queen, and tried to steady her breathing so Terra wouldn't hear her, and to little effect. She kept trying to make sense of why Terra and Skye refused to listen to them, and what Skye meant by Kenny attacking their friend and alpha. Blue knew that Kenny had gotten into a fight with their alpha Spark, but that was just a misunderstanding concerning territory. She suspected that the raid on the dam had a part to play in their hatred of humans, but she didn't think Terra and Skye were around for that. The two were extraordinarily skilled at hunting, but they seemed way too young now to have been around all those years ago.
Blue shook her head to clear it, now wasn't the time to be speculating when Terra could be around. She slowly lifted her head up over the wall, and only did so enough to where she could glance around. After a scan up and down both ends of main street, Blue sighed and figured that she had lost Terra. She was still surprised by how fast he was, and how he managed to keep pace with her around the mosasaur lagoon. She wished that she could have kept going to Maria's lab, but she didn't want to lead Terra there, she just wanted to inform Maria that Terra and his sister were alive. If she led a bloodthirsty hybrid to her pack, someone may lose their life before an understanding could be reached.
Seeing that that coast was clear, she stood up fully and headed up the street, passing Nobu. She stopped to look at her reflection in the window, and sighed at what she saw.
"I look like shit…" She thought, and looked down at her scales. They were covered in sweat, and scuffed up from the few times she slipped on the way to where she was now. "I can't believe that just an hour ago I was mating with Kenny, and now I'm having to fight for my life… what the?"
Blue saw something reflected in the window, and whirled around only to be slammed into by Terra. As they crashed through the window, shards of glass cutting their scales, Terra sunk his teeth into Blue's shoulder and drew blood from her. Blue yelped as the corner of a table hit her back, and she grabbed Terra's shoulders to kick him away, accidentally pulling off his cloak and revealing his maroon and light brown scales.
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" Blue snarled at him, and hissed at the bite he left on her. She didn't know how long she had until the venom would start to take effect, but she now knew she had to haul ass to Maria's lab so she could get it treated. "Kenny didn't want to fight anyone! He didn't even know anyone was at the dam!"
"{Sure, sure he didn't.}" Terra chuckled as he slowly got up, using a table for support as he glared at Blue. "{And the bruises that my alpha got and the concussion a mother received aren't actually real.}"
"Dammit Terra, just fucking listen to me! We can stop this fighting right here, no one has to die, I don't want to hurt you either. We can stop all of this, and I can bring Mari-" Blue said, but got cut off by a fierce snarl from Terra.
"{WE TOLD YOU TO NOT MENTION THEIR NAMES!}" Terra snarled, frill starting to twitch and expand. "We watched them die when we weren't even a year old! Humans like that one you call a mate killed our mom and dad!"
"For fuck's sakes! How could we know your names if they were dead now?! If you and your sister just stopped trying to kill us we could clear this up! Why won't you fucking listen to us?!" Blue pleaded, claw tapping the ground frantically as she began to get irritated with how unreasonable they were being. Terra seemed to think about her words, but his pondering face turned dark as his teeth began to show again, and a growl came out of his throat.
"{No.}" Terra growled and shot a glob of venom at Blue, who immediately ducked and charged Terra after avoiding it. He coughed as her head his his chest, and he slashed at her face with his claws, almost blinding her left eye as blood began to flow from the claw marks that trailed across it.
Blue screeched at the cut across her eye, and immediately bit Terra's arm to force him back and make him release her. She headbutted his chin and sunk her teeth into his shoulder, shaking her head to tear his scales up and knock him down, making him scream as his shoulder was ripped apart. Terra slashed at her nose and Blue released the bite to swat at him as well, and knocked his head into the corner of a table, dazing him. Blue felt odd as she turned to run away and she figured that the venom Terra sent into her must be starting to affect her, a guess confirmed by her running into a doorframe which ended up bruising her nose. Blue shook her head and panted as she looked back to see Terra running after her, knocking tables and chairs aside to get to her. She didn't waste any more time in running through the back halls and out the back door, frantically trying to gain distance from him.
Once outside, she dashed to the side of the door and listened closely. As soon as she heard Terra's rapid footsteps, she kicked the door shut, drawing a pained yelp from him when it slammed into him. She bolted through the yard behind the restaurant and tried to get out of Terra's range once she heard the door slam open again, but she skidded to a stop when a glob of venom hit the ground in front of her, stopping her long enough for Terra to cut her off.
"{I'm not letting you leave here alive. You know that, right?}" Terra asked, a smirk plastered on his face that made Blue shiver as he backed her up against a wall. Blue felt something cold pressing up against her hips, and looked back to see that she got pressed against some kind of metal. That distraction was all Terra needed, and Blue barely heard him charging her, save for the sound of his footsteps changing. Blue immediately hopped to the side and rammed her head into the side of his throat, making him choke as she momentarily knocked the wind out of him. Blue seized the opportunity to slash at his neck with her claws and swing his legs out from under him using her tail.
"For the last time! Kenny didn't go there to hurt anyone, he just wanted to see how the power came on in the hotel!" Blue yelled at Terra after stepped on his chest and pinned him to the ground. She pressed her sickle claw against his chest, hoping to drive her words home. "Just stop this and listen to me!"
"{There's no way in hell he didn't! We almost lost one of the mothers in our pack- a close friend- because he nearly killed her, and he attacked our alpha!}" Terra growled at her, glaring at her as he got to his feet. "{He's going to die, and you with him.}"
Blue shrieked when Terra shot a glob of venom at her, and she would have gotten hit by it had she not seen his frill open in time. Blue growled at him and charged him, knocking him back with a yelp coming from the hybrid as his back hit a metal tank. Terra looked up and he immediately threw himself to the side, just barely managing to avoid getting cut by Blue's sickle claw which pierced the tank instead.
Terra seized the moment to take a cheap shot at Blue while she pulled her claw out of the tank, and he shot another glob of venom at her, this time hitting her square in the chest. Terra headbutted her while she hissed at the venom coating her scales, and knocked her against the wall of the building, busting open an electrical box. He snarled when she bit down at his neck, drawing blood, and was about to tear into her chest when he sniffed the air. He looked over at the red diamond on the tank and saw just two words below it: "FLAMMABLE GAS".
"{OH SHIT!}" Terra yelled and threw Blue to the ground before bolting in the other direction.
Blue wondered why he ran away all of a sudden, but she figured that if something was enough to make him abandon her, she should run too. Blue got to her feet and ran for the first thing she saw, the open door next to her. Blue shuddered with fear, as the venom was already making her body start to go numb, and she fought through it as she tried to get through the building, when all of a sudden she heard a dull thud.
In the next three seconds, Blue saw the concrete wall next to her cave in, and an orange light filled her eyes before she was thrown through the air and a wall. Blue screamed as she plowed through several tables and chairs, hitting the floor very hard and leaving her dazed. Blue shook her head and tried to get up, but she shrieked when horrendous pain bolted through her body, and she looked down to see a foot long shard of metal sticking out of her chest, and the entire wall before her on fire.

"'Okay, so Skye, I know that you don't like most humans, but Kenny isn't like most humans' no no… that's not right, most humans aren't bad, at least I don't think so. Okay 'Skye, Kenny is actually really nice. He's saved the lives of so many of us, and'... no... that's too abrupt. Ugh, how do I do this?" Cobalt muttered, pacing back and forth through the forest. "Ah fuck it, I'll just go and tell her what comes naturally."
"About fucking time." Flare grumbled from behind him, leaving Cobalt chuckling as he forgot he was in the nesting area, and that he was keeping others up.
Cobalt left the area and ran along the path that he remembered taking to get to Maria's territory from the hotel. As he ran, he used the clicks from his tongue to keep himself aware of his surroundings, and also used his sense of smell to follow his own trail. He swore he smelled something familiar crossing his path on the way back, but that was pushed aside by another scent, something much more powerful. He could smell blood, and from how powerful the scent was, he could tel that it was very traumatic.
Cobalt decided to follow the scent of blood, because it too seemed familiar. At the end of the trail, he heard whimpering, breaking glass, and crackling wood. Although he was blind, he still flinched at the sight of a flash inside the restaurant he was in front of; the building was burning down, and falling wood was adding fuel to to the fire.
"Kenny… Kenny please… where are you…?" Cobalt heard someone sob, and instantly recognized the voice as Blue's. Cobalt carefully made his way over to the crying, but froze when he stepped in something wet. Cobalt leaned down to sniff at it, and gasped when he realized he was standing in a trail of blood. He turned to Blue, and could immediately smell smoke and charred wood all over her.
"BLUE!" Cobalt yelled and hurried over to her, and kneeled next to her, gasping when he felt a pool of blood around her. "What the fuck happened here? Why are you bleeding?"
"Cobalt? Is-Is that you?" Blue asked, and Cobalt could tell that her voice was very weak, he knew that this wasn't good. "Where… where is Kenny…?"
"First tell me what happened here, you're really messed up." Cobalt said, trying his best to keep Blue from hurting herself any further. "I think you got burned too."
"Please… you need to get to Maria… bring her here… Terra and Skye… are trying to kill us…" Blue pleaded, and gasped as she tried to breathe.
Cobalt was having trouble breathing too once he heard that. He suddenly felt so cold, and the scales on his body were so sensitive. He shook his head to clear it when he heard Blue speaking again, and had to strain to hear what she was saying.
"Please… just leave me… go get Maria and Apoyo…" Blue begged, but screamed when Cobalt nudged the metal shard in her, making him stumble back as he got even more scared.
"What the fuck was that? What did I do?!" Cobalt asked, starting to hyperventilate.
"Th-th-there's a giant piece of metal stuck in my body… please… don't worry about me... Terra bit me and got v-venom in me… I feel so weak… please just… go get Maria and Apoyo…" Blue said, losing consciousness as Cobalt hesitated to get up, but began bolting back towards Maria's lab as fast as he could, so fast he tripped over logs and rocks, but he got up each time and kept running.
As soon as he got into the lab, he ran towards Maria and Apoyo's room and ran into the wall, knocking books off of a shelf and a painting off the wall.
"Hey! HEY! Cobalt! What is the matter with you?!" Maria yelled, having been jolted awake along with Apoyo when he ran inside.
"You… you two… need to come with… me right now… please! Blue is… she's dying! Terra and Skye… they're trying to kill her and Kenny!" Cobalt heaved, pulling himself up using a table.
"{You wake us up in the middle of the goddamn night… and tell us that our only children are trying to kill Kenny and Blue?}" Maria snarled, getting up. "What the fuck is-"
"BLUE HAS A HUGE SHARD OF METAL STICKING OUT OF HER CHEST AND IS TRAPPED BY A BURNING BUILDING ON MAIN STREET!" Cobalt screeched at them. "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU TO MAKE YOU THINK I'D JOKE ABOUT THIS?!"
Maria and Apoyo were completely stunned at his outburst, but they immediately hopped to their feet and hurried with him towards main street.

Kenny steadied his breath as he stepped through the trees in the bamboo forest of Jurassic World. He had managed to lose Skye in the forest due to the head start that he got at the hotel, although he could still hear her stepping around in the forest. He occasionally saw her glancing around, moving through the patches of woods, but he stayed out of sight. He didn't know how he could bolt out of there without Skye hearing him, but he knew that sooner or later she would sniff him out. He was practically covered in all sorts of powerful scents. He tried his best to smother them with dirt and mud, but he doubted that it would work well enough to throw off Skye.
Skye was far more resourceful and intelligent than he ever would have thought, especially for someone who he would assume was in their late teens. As he was driving here on his motorcycle, he took another look at the rifle he snagged off of her, and recognized it as the rifle that Owen used during his time at Jurassic World. He had no idea how she got it, but since Owen survived the battle against Gwen, and Blue made no mention of Skye in her recounting of the day, he guessed the rifle must have been lost in the chaos.
Kenny shook his head and focused on the situation at hand, he could ask Skye about this once the whole situation was resolved. Figuring that he had to move sooner or later, he started stepping through the forest, deciding to leave behind his motorcycle so he would keep up his stealth. Kenny froze when he heard a click, and slowly looked around for the source of the noise. After finding nothing out of the ordinary, Kenny kept walking forwards for a few more seconds, when he heard another click right behind him.
"{The fuck?}" He heard a voice ask, and he chuckled before holding up some bullets.
"Hey Skye, I see ya found the gun I left. Too bad it's empty." He said, and stashed the bullets in his pockets before grabbing the barrel of the rifle and shoving it backwards, right into Skye's maw and making her lose her grip on it. Kenny tossed it aside, causing it to clatter along the concrete, but was immediately kicked into the back of a park bench by Skye, who charged him with jaws wide open. The only thing she bit was solid metal as Kenny used his arms to somersault over the bench, leaving her with sore teeth and more pissed off. "You know you don't have to do this right? I can reunite you with your mother, she's still alive."
"{No she isn't! I watched her and my dad die right before our eyes!}" Skye yelled, getting her bearings while holding her maw.
"She was tranquilized and he was shocked. Have you never encountered or suffered the effects of one of those darts?" Kenny asked and narrowly avoided getting hit by the venom that she spat at him. He almost got hit by it since he didn't see her frill open.
"You can save your bullshit for yourself asshole. It will just fall on deaf ears." Skye said and leaped over the bench at Kenny, who had to jump back to avoid getting bit by her. Skye wasn't as clean of a fighter as he thought however, and in the next few seconds, he had one of his legs grabbed from underneath him, and his face grabbed as he was slammed into the ground. If it weren't for him quickly extending an arm behind his head to soften the blow, he would have gotten a fractured skull.
Kenny growled as Skye continuously refused to listen, and she repeatedly attacked him with no remorse. Kenny had a slight worry that he'd have to tell Maria that he broke her leg, that is, if Skye didn't tear out his throat first. He wasn't going to let that happen however, and he especially wasn't going to let Blue get hurt either. Kenny grabbed Skye and hooked a foot around one of her legs, spinning them around and slammed her into the ground, leaving her gagging as he drove his elbow into her throat.
Kenny didn't realize this left him open until he felt Skye's sharp teeth ripping into his shoulder and made him yell. He moved a leg and pushed one of Skye's far to the side, making her groan as he strained her muscles badly. Kenny immediately got up and kicked Skye's jaw hard, knocking her head into the stone base of a bench and made her whimper as the pain in the fight started to get to her. Kenny lunged on top of her, driving a knee into her chest and clenched his hand around her throat as he stared into her eyes.
"Listen to me Skye! I am giving you one last chance to come to your senses and be reasonable! I don't want to drag your corpse to your mother, but if I have to knock you out and drag you there by the tail then I fucking will! Don't you fucking dare test me!" Kenny yelled at her, squeezing her throat to drive the point home. "If my words are going to fall on deaf ears, then I'll just scream louder until you fucking listen!"
A distant boom echoed out though the air, and Kenny looked up past the bench, and across the lake next to the bamboo forest to see a fireball blowing into the sky. Kenny felt a chill run down his spine, and realized that the explosion had come in the direction that Blue had ran to lure off Terra.
"What the fuck was that…?" Kenny muttered, and heard derisive laughing coming from underneath him. He looked down and saw that Skye had an ominous grin on her face, and the sight of it made his blood boil.
"I'm willing to bet that was your girlfriend." Skye laughed, and fought through Kenny's tightening grip on her throat to spite him even further. "Don't cry though, you'll see her soon enough in Hell."
Kenny glared at her, but a faint gurgling caught his attention and he darted his head to the side just in time to avoid a face-full of black venom. It didn't make any difference however, as Kenny looked down to see one of Skye's feet planted on his chest, and he was immediately launched at least ten feet into the air. The landing on his chest was so harsh, it left Kenny curled up in pain and groaning as his ribs were burning with horrendous pain after he bounced some when he hit the ground. He looked forward to see Skye getting to her feet, and she slowly approached him as he tried to fight through the pain.
Only one thought kept racing through his head as Skye walked towards him, just one thought. Kenny thought that if Blue really was dead, if the one person in his life who meant everything to him was really gone, then he would be forced to live out all of his years without her by his side. He would have Maria, Apoyo, Rexy, Veil, Crystal, Yang, Zeb, Stega, and so many others, but not Blue. He knew that his life would never be the same, because Blue was his life. He couldn't imagine coming back to Isla Nublar after spending so long not knowing if she was even alive, only to be torn from her just a week after being reunited with her. The thought alone made Kenny hurt inside, but through all the pain, he swore... that he would not die this night.
Right as Skye was just inches from Kenny, he put a hand underneath his chest to support himself and he swung a fist with all his might into Skye's face, punching her nose so hard a crack echoed out and sent her sprawling into the bench by the lakeside.
"Let me tell you something Skye. If Blue really is dead, then I don't give a damn who's child you are. I will kill you and your brother, and I'll make sure that you never see anyone ever again in this life, because you took away the love of mine." Kenny growled, spitting out blood as he stared her down.
"Do yourself a favor human: stay down." Skye panted as she got back to her feet, but growled when Kenny steadied his stance.
"I can do this all night." Kenny panted, drawing his knife. Skye simply shook her head and the two of them charged each other with a fierce battle cry echoing through the air. Kenny tackled Skye like a linebacker and slammed her back into the bench, making it rock as it was knocked off its base and she bit hard into his shoulder again. But she made her own pained screech when Kenny drove his knife over halfway into her shoulder, digging it in as she was forced to release her bite and shove him away, taking his knife with him and causing it to come out at a jagged angle.
Skye looked at the hole the knife left, and the blood that was now readily flowing down her scales and turned to glare at Kenny, but yelped as he lunged at her with his knife and sliced into the side of her body, not scoring another deep wound as she jumped to the side in a vain attempt to avoid it. Skye slashed at his arm, drawing blood and almost knocking the knife out of his hand, but she received a roundhouse kick to the face that knocked her onto all fours. Skye shrieked when Kenny slashed at her face, nearly blinding her in her left eye, and then got her chin bashed into the ground when he stomped on her head. Kenny kept up his assault by stabbing the knife into her upper left leg, right into her muscles and drew another scream from her. She snarled at him and swept his legs out from under him, then leapt at him to rip out his throat, but got kicked in hers with both of Kenny's feet.
Kenny sprung up and slammed her to the ground with his entire body landing on her side, scraping her scales against the concrete as she slid from the impact. She shrieked when he knocked her down, having landed on the side with the knife dug into her leg, which got buried in her even further now. In spite of the stream of blood coming from her leg now, Skye wasn't finished yet, and reached over to slash at Kenny's face with her claws. Kenny groaned as his entire body was searing with pain from the countless slashes she has made on his body, and he realized that Skye's claws missed his right eye by just half of an inch. Kenny got up and held his ribs as he turned to face Skye, and stumbled back as she finally scored a hit on his chest with her venom.
Kenny growled and ripped off his shirt, getting rid of most of the venom. Skye smirked and spit out the blood streaming into her mouth from the cut on her face, but it quickly faded as he charged her and wrapped his hands around her throat, and slammed her neck against the bricks lining the bottom of the pathways at the attraction. Skye glared at Kenny but yelped as he knocked her head to the side with a punch, knocking out one of her teeth, she slashed at his chest to her him off her and punched his ribs for good measure, making Kenny stumble back as the pain shot up his spine. Before he could even recover, she doubled down and tackled him to the ground, scraping his back against the concrete as she grabbed his throat, squeezing down on it as Kenny tried to do the same to her. No words were exchanged now, all they wanted to do was kill each other to protect the ones they loved. Kenny and Skye both tried to choke the other, but their hands trembled as the blood loss started to take its toll, and their vision rapidly faded as they heard faint cries of their names. Neither knew who was calling for them, and Skye fell on top of Kenny as they lost consciousness.

And there ya have it! The most favorite fight scene of mine so far that I have ever written! Sorry to leave ya on another cliffhanger. This chapter was shorter than I expected though, but looking back, it feels really nice. I feel like adding any more to it would have thrown off the pacing that I have planned.
I felt like jumping into the fight scene without explaining how Terra and Skye survived would have been absolutely stupid. So I was really happy to show their early childhood and the family that they received in Sarah and Jessica Harding. I'm looking forward to writing more of those two humans as well.
The birthday scene was something that I really enjoyed writing, because it gave me the chance to explore new themes that I don't think many others have touched on, such as dinosaurs experiencing birthdays. I wanted to write dinosaurs experiencing receiving gifts, having parties, and eating all kinds of tasty food.
Skye working on welding was originally going to be a lot more crazy. Originally, I was going to have her on a skateboard working on a vehicle she used. That's right, I was going to introduce a dinosaur that
somehow knew how to drive. It wasn't going to be pretty driving, but driving nonetheless. I actually made the decision to scrap that quite recently, as it seemed way too outrageous to use.
It gets even crazier. I was first going to write sections that showcased the skills they would have had originally, such as: Hacking, where they would somehow break into the control center of Jurassic World and steal hard-drive files and computer parts; Espionage, where they would lure Henry Wu to the old visitors center and attack him and his men; and Assassinations, where they would continuously kill and tear apart the mercenaries sent to Isla Nublar after Jurassic World fell.
I know I consider dinosaurs to be equal to humans in terms of intelligence and reasoning, but this ^ is just insane, way too out of this world to the point where I think it's completely unbelievable.
I also was originally going to have Skye shoot at Kenny after setting up a trap, but as I wrote, I felt like it would be cooler if
he was the one to set up a trap.
Throughout the fight scenes, I felt like a question would be raised as to why Terra and Skye continuously refused to listen to Kenny and Blue, and so I decided to have them think about this and try to reason with them. It's safe to say that what Terra and Skye went through deeply traumatized them, and that they're in denial.
In the first outline of this chapter, Terra was originally going to run up to Kenny and Skye, and Skye would trap Kenny in a headlock, from which he would escape by swinging his leg around and breaking Skye's left leg. I decided against this however, as while I wanted the injuries sustained in the fight to be realistic and traumatic, I didn't want them to be crippling and require months of bed-rest.
Anyways, just like this chapter, I intend to get writing on it right away. Honestly, sometimes I surprise myself with how eager I am to write. I may play games or watch tv and anime for a while, but if during any of that time I manage to sit down and start writing, I just can't stop. I love writing this story.
P.S. Fun fact: had I gotten this out earlier around last month, it probably would have came out around the release of the Will Smith movie.
See ya next time on Jurassic Lands Chapter 15: Behind Enemy Lines!
{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}
"{Oh god… I… I can't even speak right! I can't even… we caused so much suffering… we've killed so many… but here you are!}" Skye sobbed as she held her mother tight. "{What have we done?! How can we ever come back?! We don't deserve your forgiveness, we don't deserve your love! Look at what we've become ever since we were torn from you!}"
Kenny could only watch and wipe away the tears in his eyes, he didn't know what to feel. Skye had nearly killed him, but she seemed genuinely broken inside as her mother held her tight and cried with her. Skye may be very talented, but she was still just a child...
