Hello everyone!
I'm sorry I haven't uploaded anything in almost two weeks now. I'm getting ready for my last exams before starting my internship and I also still have to watch the rest of season 7 and season 4 of Angel. A lot is going to happen from here until the end of season 7, and I have it all planned out, but it's taking longer than I expected and I can't really tell you when the next chapter is going to be up. It will cover part of "Same time, same place".
I wanted to use this huge-ass A/N to reply to a review I got over a week ago.
Guest: I'm really grateful for your review. I'm so happy you took the time to point the things that were bugging you out and tell me about them. I need this kind of feedback to improve my writing. There are several points of your review that I want to extendedly talk about, and I wanted to do it when I uploaded the next chapter, but that's taking a lot longer than I thought, so I hope it doesn't bother you if I do it here.
Guest's words will be written between quote marks ("")
"Ally is basically Buffy without the temper and a much higher IQ". I have to say that this is the way it is supposed to be. I promise, I have it all planned out, the plot revolves around it. Be patient please! Still, I have to admit that I should have made some differences more obvious, worked more on them and I promise to add more on Ally's personality contrasting with Buffy's when I go back to editing the story (BTW, I am currently editing it, but only the grammar and spelling mistakes. I will fix mistakes and holes in the plot later on). Thanks for pointing this out, I will make sure to pay special attention to this part when I start editing.
"I mean, she's just too perfect for me." Again, this will be tackled farther into the story, as it is an important point that will be dealt with as season 7 progresses. I hope you will like the character development and the changes in the plot, and other aspects that will be revealed in the near (hopefully) future.
"She has Buffy's same lovers, she's extremely nice and understanding, almost everybody loves her and she became a Summers. I just think that even in a TV show these things wouldn't happen the same way." There is also a reason for this, as her past relationships and other people that are both connected to her and Buffy (like Riley) will have an effect on Ally's development during season 7. It will all have an explanation. Still, I'm a bit angry at myself for not adding all this depth and complexity to Ally's character earlier during the story. I really don't know how to do it before what I've planned for this season, but I will give it much thought when I edit it.
"Every Buffy character has tons of flaws but they still end up doing the right thing in the end." Okay, really pay attention to this. This will be key around the end of season 7. This is what will set Ally apart from the others. I'm so glad you pointed this out, together with the "she's just too perfect for me". This is what I hope will set Ally apart not only from the rest of the characters from the show, but other OC's and typical characters from other fanfictions too.
I hope this will help you all (specially Guest) understand what will happen as season 7 advances. I know it will take me a while to write everything I want to do with season 7, because, trust me, a lot's going to happen, and it will be a turning point for the story. I really hope it will clear out any doubts, plot holes and other missing parts of the story so far, and I really hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed planning and writing it.
Also, I will take advantage of this "special update" to announce that there will be a sequel to The Mini Slayer, following her after the end of season 7. I hope you will like that too!
Guess that's all for today, then.
Lee out.
