Hey everyone! Here's the latest chapter as promised.
RHatch89: Thanks! Let me know what you think of this one.
HarriettWithTea: And that's a review! My god, yours are hilarious, I'm gonna print them and tape them to my walls. I have a lot planned for Dark!Ally, but you're most likely gonna want to kill me again. Still, I don't think Soulless!Spike would have like Dark!Ally much, either, but he would have probably taken it better. Still, a lot's gonna happen regarding Dark!Ally, and I really want to hear what you think about it :D
Anyways, next chapter should be up tomorrow or on Friday, it's already written, so I hope you enjoy this one!
Lee out.
Red had given them some hope. Said that when she'd arrived to Sunnydale, the locator spell had told her the same about her friends. That they didn't exist. Turned out it was all because of another spell of sorts.
So Ally had to be somewhere, hidden by another spell. And he'd make damn sure he found her.
They all ran to find the jock she'd gone after. Goldilocks, Nibblet, Red, Harris and his ex-puppy all assaulted the guy, bringing him out to his porch, given Spike couldn't enter his home without an invitation.
"Is she here?" Buffy asked, grabbing the teen boy by the front of his shirt.
"Wh-what? Who are you talking about?" The boy looked around, finding all of their worried faces focused on him, before quickly forgetting about them. Attention span of a fish, Spike thought. "Hey, I went to your place earlier…"
"Ally! Have you seen her?" Dawn cut him, her voice high pitched due to the distress cause by her sister's disappearance. She was more agitated than she'd been in a long time. Add that to the after effects of the love spell, and she was a mess.
"Well, yeah, went I went to your home. Why?" RJ frowned, glancing from one face to the other, pausing at the two men. He'd seen them somewhere, hadn't he?
"So she's not here?" Buffy insisted once more, letting go of his shirt.
"What? No. Why? Did she say she was coming?" He smirked at the idea, apparently enjoying it. Maybe he could still get one of the Summers women.
The smirk didn't last long, as the bleach blond's fist struck his face, knocking him down at the expense of a sharp blast of electricity hitting his brain. Spike stumbled, holding his hand to his head, but didn't regret it for one second.
They soon left that place, not too worried about the jock's bleeding nose, and split into small groups or, in his case, just him.
But it'd been hours, dawn was fast approaching, and he'd yet to find a single bleeding clue about where his Ally Cat was. No trail, no scent. Nothing. It was like she'd just vanished from the face of the Earth.
It couldn't be. She had to be somewhere, and they had to find her. He couldn't go on without her.
The Slayer was alone. The vampire wasn't with her, giving them the perfect chance for their Dark Slayer to fulfil her mission and avoid the bleach blond vampire. He could jeopardize the process. It would not do to have him stealing the Dark Slayer's attention.
Buffy sent Dawn home after a couple hours of searching town, just in case Ally returned. Really, she was terrified of finding whatever took Ally, only to lose Dawn too. Willow was trying more spells, trying to find a way to trespass whatever was preventing them from getting the junior Slayer's location, and Xander was out, just like her, accompanied by Anya.
And yet, Buffy had a feeling that, if anyone was to find Ally, it'd be her. What she wasn't sure was, how Ally would be when she finally found her.
The senior Slayer rushed through the streets of Sunnydale, near the hospital, hoping against hope that her sister would be there and not under some evil creature's hand, tortured or dead. It was creepy, how finding her at the hospital was better than the alternative.
A sound behind her had her spinning in a split second. She was in a dark alleyway, not far from an abandoned warehouse just a block from the hospital, but they alley was empty. A few trashcans, a rusty ladder leading up to the precarious roof of the warehouse, and some crates and cement blocks left by the previous workers of the building.
Buffy knew better than to think the sound was caused by a cat. Too cliché, too lucky for a scene in the Hellmouth.
"Come out. We're not doing the whole scary movie blonde chick running away from the bad monster thing. I'm busy." She called out, crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for whatever it was to reveal itself.
A shape appeared at the top of the building, barely waiting a second before jumping down, falling swiftly thirty feet from the senior Slayer. It was a tall figure, clad in dark clothes, blending with the darkness of the night and poorly lit street.
Buffy went into a defensive stance, bringing her arms up. "Let's get this over with. I have important things to…" Her words died in her throat when the figure approached her, reaching a moonlit patch of the alley, where its features became much clearer. There, right in front of her, was her sister. "Oh, God…" She breathed, her eyes widening at the horror before her.
Ten hours before, Ally had been fresh, clean, blissfully affected by an irritating love spell. This Ally was anything but. Her clothes were ripped in several places, covered in blood, blood that probably belonged to herself. Her jeans had so many holes they barely held together, revealing dark lines covering her legs, just like her arms, stomach and face.
Her face. Oh, her face. All of her skin was covered in blue, black and red patches, worse than anything Buffy had seen in someone who was still alive. Her lip was split, dark like the gash on her forehead. The skin around her eyes looked like someone had punched her until there was not an inch of its natural colour left, blue and black taking its place. Her hair stuck to her skin, dirty, bloodied. Buffy wasn't even sure what else was on her hair. Or her skin. Or her clothes.
And then she saw her sister's eyes. They'd been grey before, almost silver. That was all gone.
They were pitch black.
"Ally, what's happened to you?" Buffy asked, going closer to her sister against all common sense. "Oh, god, we have to get you to…"
The junior Slayer moved so fast the blonde didn't even see it coming. The first blow sent her flying against the side wall. Head dizzy, Buffy tried to stand up, only to receive a kick to the gut and another fist to the temple, the brunette's knuckles crashing against the blonde's skull.
What was happening? What was wrong with Ally? Or, maybe, just maybe, it was a doppelganger demon? Then why all the wounds and bruises?
She didn't get to think much before another kick came her way. She dodged, jumping as far away as possible, keeping an eye on her battered sister's form as Ally strode toward her again.
"Ally, stop! What's going on?"
She didn't stop. The brunette reached her eldest sister, only to resume the beating, Buffy barely holding on. She blocked and dodged as much as she could, but it felt like Ally was even stronger than she had been before, despite the fact that she looked like she'd been run over by a bulldozer several times.
Buffy's ability to withstand her sister's strikes diminished by the second. She felt herself getting weaker, while Ally went on, and on, with no sign of fatigue whatsoever. What had happened to her in the last hours?
The blonde blocked another kick to her head and tried to sweep Ally's legs off the ground, but the brunette jumped and rotated in mid-air, hitting Buffy in the head with her heel. The senior Slayer was knocked down, a sharp ringing in her ear preventing her from listening to anything else.
The one thing in her mind was the heart breaking idea that her own sister was going to kill her. Her friend, her partner, the one who shared her duty, the one who understood the weight that rested on her shoulders.
She barely opened her eyes to see Ally standing over her, looking down on her with an impassive expression underneath the dirt and blood. She lifted her leg, surely about to stomp on Buffy's head, crack her skull and leave her to die.
A dark shape pushing Ally away from her saved the blonde. She exhaled shakily and tried to turn on her side to watch where her sister and the newcomer had gone.
He heard Little Miss Tiny on his way to the hospital area. He ran, if only because whatever could have Big Sis Summers screaming to 'stop' had to be bad enough that he shouldn't leave her to face it on her own. When he arrived at the alley, the shape standing over the blonde Slayer was way too familiar and way too close to killing Goldilocks to not step into the fight.
He reacted, not really thinking about it, and tackled the figure, sending them both rolling near the wall of the warehouse. Shaking himself, he looked at the would-be Slayer of the Slayer.
It couldn't be.
Battered and bruised almost beyond recognition, was his Ally Cat. She scampered to her feet faster than him, and didn't even look at him before focusing on Buffy lying on the ground ten feet from them.
A man –woman– on a mission. She hadn't even spared him a glance, almost like was invisible, non-existent. Not what his Ally would do, in any case.
Ally moved toward her sister again, making him frown before jumping to his feet and rushing after her, grabbing her by the arm to stop her before reaching the blonde.
"What in the bloody hell is going…?" He didn't get to finish the sentence, as he was cut by a right hook to the jaw that had him tumbling backward and putting his game face on. Still, he didn't release her arm, and pushed her behind him against the wall the next second. "You better explain yourself, love, that's your big sis you're beating to a pulp." He ground out, grabbing both her shoulders to keep her pinned to the wall.
He was petrified when he looked into her eyes, expecting her big grey irises to look back at him, and instead finding black. But that wasn't all. For the first time since he'd tackled her, she was looking at him. She wasn't breathing, she was barely moving, she was just staring into his eyes, yellow from the vampiric guise. And she saw him.
Slowly, recognition filled her face. She started breathing, only taking shallow breaths, and her lips parted a bit. Instead of her expressionless face, she then showed a bit of confusion. And gradually, at a torturous pace for her lover, her pitch black irises started to turn back to their natural colour, like black mist dissipating with a breeze.
"Spike?" She breathed out, her voice weak, cracked.
"That's right, love. I'm here."
Just as the darkness in her eyes vanished, the dark gashes all over her skin lost their dark colour, and instead started bleeding again, bringing a new wave of fear to the vampire. What the hell was going on? If that wasn't the million dollar question…
"Ally? Is she alright?" Buffy's voice came from behind them, and just like that, Ally's face whipped toward the sound, the black irises returned, the gashes clogged up again and her expression went blank.
"No, Ally Cat, come back. Look at me. Come on, love, look at me." Spike shook her, catching her attention again. But this time, it wasn't undivided, her eyes kept glancing at him, then over his shoulder, indecisive. The darkness in her eyes swirled, fighting with her natural grey, and a few drops of blood still escaped from her wounds.
What the hell was he supposed to do?
"I'm sorry, love." He whispered, kissing her hard once. Electricity rushed through them, shaking every last nerve cell in his body, before he tore himself from her and moved a step back.
In a desperate move, he grabbed a cement brick near them and knocked her on the head with it, rendering her unconscious. He gathered her in his arms before she hit the floor, and watched as the dark gashes bled again, the black lines disappearing. Her body was limp, but she was still breathing, if only just. She was losing too much blood and would probably have a concussion to add to the million bruises covering her.
Just what had happened to her?
A/N: Just FYI, I picture Dark!Ally's first appearance similar to The Winter Soldier's in Captain America 2, when he jumps from the highway/bridge and lands on the car and he looks practically edible when he walks down from it like it was a breeze. So yeah, sexy/badass Bucky/Ally mix in my head.
