The Inquisitor

Chapter XXVIII

The side alley between several stacked containers had been quite effective allowing myself to see gangers were moving. Some seeming leaned against structures, or between inhabitants and other such wonderful things since a mutant girl I expected was incredibly doing herself plenty of favors. Slithe, I'm surprised at you! You're really good knowing which corners leading around this place, Emperor help me! Pleasantly enough I found myself psychically complimenting the girl who meekly smiled when guiding myself and the Interrogator right around an entire crowded street full of lesser faithful populaces.

"They're keeping an eye out." I heard my superior state modestly peering a corner since she was leaning against a wall. I smiled kindly to shrug innocently, "Less time to deal with idiots, more fun to play." I'd been entirely wrong considering none were actively trying to look out, or moved to where we'd usually traversed months ago. I smiled pleasantly to incline a nod to said girl, if anything her admiration proved too tempting to not humor. Slithe's been down here for months since getting my attention...either she found some motivation to get away while finding food for the family, or risked being...loved.

We had plenty of time almost making feel a bit less kind for making Willen believe I'd been impatient. Shrugging since she'd have to call shots, or decisions I inquired pleasantly, "Cadian agent, or do you want some fodder to do us a bit of fun, Interrogator?" There wasn't any means to rush to spoil a wonderful time as an elder girl hummed thoughtfully, "You want me to have distractions in place, Marcos? Or you trying to be kind for giving us privacy with our...friend?"

A kind smirk graced my lips quite innocently, "It'd do you a favor, no time to waste or rush. Slithe's value to you, or myself will just be...convenient for Tartarus to allow my request." The dagger kept leisurely flipping over a hand and back smoothly. Besides gangers tend to crave blood, if someone fecks them over openly. Couple months ago, I burned one alive and when I was inside her head...Slithe's face was among a few images before she'd been 'selected' for having Faith a little too strongly.

I giggled gesturing for the girl to stand out of sight leaving my Interrogator clear view to decide. She stood a little too close gripping my coat sleeve, "Your business, your fight and I'll obey what you think is suitable...Willen." Above the four winged creature was perched with one head looking in either direction as I hummed brightly with eyes closed. More time for fun to play, May. Should we go on Faith to trust a few...willing to earn our Emperor's favor, I'd imagine you would put in a good word on Slithe's behalf? Please?

The elder girl gave me a look of amusement since I'd been kindly offering, "Marcos were you a politician with your gangs? Our Inquisitor warned me amusingly, so I apologize for earlier." I shrugged since Slithe had been a little good in saving an Emperor's grace of opportunity. No, that was Skit and other cruel big feckers who did that throne damned kind of twisted games. I never play in those games, he wanted me too why...because I'd be in them and I tended to enjoy staying in my corner to survive. I drop Shivs May, I don't ask why or want to know.

Cruelly grinning I looked over rather innocently, "I play blood and fun, they played power and...more." Since she was being honest, I'd be only as kind to answer said questions. May was quite too sweet to not feel obliged to hear out what Slithe, or I could know to make our task that much more fun to play in privacy. I skimmed on hab blocks, I liked it. I survived, Skit wanted me and others who were good, supposedly...to play bigger games. Never liked it, still don't...but Tartarus wants me to help you, so you'll be an Inquisitor she can trust to help us both, I think? I frowned partially since I couldn't remember technically due to being on Tartarus's vessel.

"So this is like home to you?" May affirmed smiling sweetly as I shrugged admitting, "It's gross. That's why she trusts me down here to bring Faith to our Emperor and probably make something out of it...somehow?" I scratched my head unable wanting to imagine how much work, or fun I'd gave for keeping myself busy to avoid aggravating her own business. I liked the streets, fun and blood...meet friends, and I like friends!

I fondly looked over to Slithe who smiled meekly as I grinned, "It's strange having Faith and I really like it." I giggled leaning against the metallic container to hum kindly as a dagger flipped over my knuckles contently. I believe that Faith can give rewards to those who give everything and ask for nothing...Interrogator Willen. But having too much fun is a little tempting, so I'll do both because I like it. I'll always praise our Emperor for giving something to give to others, if only I ask for nothing on Faith alone.

May sounded a tad bit fond to scoff, "It's something few tend to embrace so...uniquely, Marcos." I smile serenely making a shiv flip over innocently blade angled downwards, "Stop being sweet, I'm too kind to not to enjoy a lot of fun." I leaned back humming against next to Slithe who kept staring at a dagger's movement. Oh Slithe, I'm going to like you...too much. Likes shivs too, I can see plenty of fun times ahead for you.

However my superior turned thoughtful giving a sly request, "How much blood does one offer, if they're willing?" I looked over smiling pleasantly to speak honestly, "Heresy is damnation and those who offer themselves our Emperor's faithful to remove it...is priceless." The Interrogator looked deviously surprised to give me a subtle nod. Do it Neophyte, if anything Heresy is a reward for those seeking redemption of righteous retribution. I'm looking forward to instructing you how to make someone reveal secrets, if you're willing to have fun as my assistant?

My head lowered obediently accepting that order respectfully, "Slithe." Looking up to the older girl who smiled timidly, "Where did that nice woman stay at?" Her expression brightened to pull my arm as I followed with an amused Interrogator questioning humorously. Nice woman? The one you burned alive...three months ago?

I shrugged letting Slithe guide us through alley ways, "Psychos gang leader." Remembering what she'd been feeling indicated they were sympathetic to mutations, or had them as members seemed likely. Augustus's agent had an excuse to kill her, she'd been helping Slithe and giving a place to rest. Nice person, bad timing...I'd think! Humming pleasantly I started lowly whistling to kindly remark, "Those who hold Faith shall be rewarded, so blood and fun is what I'll give them...it's only kind. I like Slithe, I like you and they'll have their vengeance."

The mutant girl nimbly checked corners knowingly before waving us forward enthusiastically. You're having fun, aren't you? I psychically stated to the girl who beamed beautifully, "She likes you." The girl warily smiled sadly from behind, "Told you she's good and useful, I'm kind enough." My superior laughed lightly choosing to not ruin my fun, I found that too sweet of her in hindsight. It seemed as if someone were going back to a home they found wholeheartedly.

Mutants are useful, if they don't eat you...I think? I mentioned honestly confused to have the girl reply all too disinterestedly. They're abominations, Marcos. Slithe gestured again when I inhaled on lho to notice the four winged creature above descending on a perch. Faith rewards those who serve the Emperor, I'll give her everything and she'll become something...I promised, so I intend to do it. I want nothing from her, May.

Her answer sounded far too sweet to allow a grin to slip, "Holy son?" I again shrugged to reply kindly assured, "The Emperor protects." We kept following the girl without an issue, or bypassed crowded streets where an occasion auto-pistol shot itself. It seemed most weren't aware of what was about to happen and I found that fun enough to allow happily.

Who was Skit, Marcos? I grinned to cheekily say rather innocently, "Someone I hated and loved." She replied shrewdly trying to garner a piece of information I'd never understand why, "Your father?" I laughed wheezing to shake my head, "Feck no! Skit was fecked up in ways, you or I would never wish to know. He was what you'd call...a daemon, or worse."

My Interrogator superior stated amused, "That bad?" I grinned kindly to make her raise an eyebrow knowing I was being honest, "Worse! Hive city I lived in, he knew a lot and was always bad news. Emperor help you, or anyone if you tried anything...he was dangerous, Tartarus is worse and yet I'm fairly certain she'd kill him easily by the Emperor's grace." Sill I shook my head considering May's warning about monsters in the Inquisition was nothing short of being truth and I wanted a piece of blood to make it all fun.

Is what why you chose streets? She asked as I snorted, "Feck no, I love fun and blood. Kept to myself, made friends and just survived. Skit was a person who loved fecking over and twisting people, I just stayed away and loved doing what I do!" I giggled since it'd been too fun to drive him into a corner for trying to get games when I just stood in place, "Fighting for blood, dropping shivs for friends and just had fun for people I liked. Skimming corners to survive was too much fun...May."

The Interrogator took ample time to ponder over things even Tartarus, or herself had probably discussed trying to understand what I technically misplaced. I remained quiet to hum lightly waving to Slithe who smiled bashfully when poking around a corner, I pleasantly enjoyed seeing her having a good time and I was too kind to humor it. Thankfully I gave praise to the Emperor for giving Slithe a chance to do something, if anything I found it...oddly rewarding, if only just pleasing to know I was gaining anything.

"Hive city had thousands of orphanages between blocks and Emperor knew what else for fun Interrogator Willen." I wasn't worried since it wouldn't matter if Tartarus, or May knew as it'd been too long to really make a corner out of it entirely. Tartarus wanted to ask you about a name...Jane. I cackled loudly in response unable to resist as it'd been someone I remembered, if only to find it funny and almost scary.

Flipping a dagger around casually and utterly amused, "Skit's perfect little angel." I thought aloud to snicker since it'd been a year to shrug innocently, "Bad fecking news, fun times." May snickered seeing I wasn't afraid, or intimidated to look over leering, "If you're too sweet, I'm too kind...she was lovely to be around. Tried to get Skit make me her little pet, I found it funny and played along because she was too lovely to not be so kind."

Slithe waved us forward again when we bypassed more crowds who were unaware due to her ability to find places of peace. She loved you, or liked you? I raised an eyebrow trying to find a unique answer to the Emperor's blessings alone. Feck if I know, met her once and she never stopped trying to kill me. Skit wanted her to find a 'person', or someone to 'twist', I think? She came around our block skimming a friend of mine, I told her to feck off.

The Interrogator laughed earnestly as I chortled since it'd been too kind, "She hated you so much." It was obvious May found a cruel enjoyment to shrug, "She hated many, I was another and made some friends who kept dropping a shiv to make it funny." The girl who understood power in games shook her head, "Keeping a tool sharpened and prepared for usage, twisted indeed. Probably was too stupid, if you're saying that right...or ambitious, sounds like nobility I'm used too." I laughed to not pretend it was that easy.

"No, Emperor no." I drew out smiling pleasantly to correct a misconception, "She gathered 'pets' May, I mean a lot of them, Skit wanted her to do it and she did it...for fun." The girl hummed to giggle realizing it'd been fun enough to make things lovely, "Hundreds, or thousands Marcos?" I shrugged not even willing to imagine since I hardly knew much, or rather didn't want to pick a number. The Emperor gave me strength now to humor it, or rather gave me Faith to trust my superior to give her enough to find use of myself.

"Tens of thousands, or more...I think?" I blinked trying to give her an idea of how fun those games would get to May who hummed impressed, "Gang lords. Close to nobles and so far, I can imagine friends in places helped you." I looked back frowning, "No. Emperor help me, if I approached them whoever made Skit and Jane love them, I liked corners and a lot us did." I inhaled on a lho when Slithe kept motioning us to hurry, I skipped along as my superior chuckled knowing the mutant was trying very hard to impress her personally.

"You approach others?" May inquired as I shook my head, "Feck no. They tried to gain her attention, I stood in corners and just found it funny. She never noticed me, others and friends until she came around playing for their love...quite a bad shiv to drop." I remarked grimacing not even willing to imagine since I had my fun to laugh and just used others to have them enjoy it, "It was funny, I kept to my corner and others did too."

The Interrogator hummed thoughtfully to snicker, "She noticed it?" I laughed shaking my head to giggle, "Oh by the Emperor, no! She had too many pets, too many and they kept trying to get love from her...a lot. Made friends when some of us found it odd, I didn't care for a while and we dropped shivs and kept to ourselves...lot us knew Skit and Jane were close." I snickered loudly since it'd been too funny once small pieces came into detail, I wasn't even aware until others approached and that made it too funny.

"But things got weird." I mentioned absently unable to understand it fully which was funny since it made sense now. I flipped a dagger happily to cackle suddenly, "Chaos!" My superior laughed to pat my shoulder rather comfortably, "You didn't know, Marcos. It sounds like one of many, Tartarus wanted me to tell you...you weren't wrong. Chaos corrupts many people, in all forms and the Imperium is vast...to slip in everywhere."

I grinned cruelly unable to resist snickering because it was too much fun, "Skit and Jane started acting quite strange, May. The fun kind of bad when she started finding more pets, a lot more and things were fun when...she let us go." I twitched my jawline feeling a tongue slip out clearly to feel adrenaline surging, "Small things tipped off others who were better than myself, May and I mean...real friends who watched out for a lot of us. Skit started a lot of things inside that city, a lot of twisted and Jane all too happily played...lovely as always." I thought back trying to put something into place yet it didn't seem anything save for Chaos's corruption, if May knew so easily and that was what things fun. It was too tempting considering I looked back...conveniently.

"They were searching for people." She stated knowingly as I shrugged since it was true giving me an honest trust, "Definitely." Tapping the dagger against metal a container lightly I smiled pleasantly to hum all too happily, "Small weird details happened...Jane and Skit were taking people off streets, regular and working kinds. All over the city, it wasn't slow either. It was fast and lot of us who skimmed corners noticed too."

She nodded understandingly when we bypassed gangers who had their backs turned as they inspected shivs, or laughed. Sacrifices, Neophyte...all cults do that whenever they spring up. They go for innocence, faithful and sometimes...family, if they're twisted enough. She explained patiently giving me a humming expression of pleasant understanding. It's nothing new, Chaos is full of lies and truths that make the Imperium struggle to remain standing. Your world was just another one, so don't feel insulted...you didn't know because it's a secret none should be exposed too.

"What happened next?" My superior ordered me walking beside myself smiling since I hadn't been angered save for giggling, "Friends started dropping shivs, a lot of shivs. Few who I knew watched out for others, I didn't care and kept to my corner...lot of us did." I shrugged not willing to go over old news to really get to the point, "One day friend dropped a shiv, a meeting...whole hive had been stirred up so much even the hive's Arbrites were terrified of Skit. They kept him in line, Willen and I do mean they kept him in place."

She narrowed her gaze to my cruel grin which lengthened fairly obviously, "Fecking terrified. Normally I kept to my corner, made friends and liked them. We'd drop shivs to them, a lot and they only smiled kindly at us. They weren't idiots, or stupid...they knew something was bad." I giggled again finding it all too much fun to not enjoy it, "But then something even odder happened, May...people started disappearing from everywhere! Ecclesiastical friends, Arbrites, Guard of our city and a lot more which was...weird."

I shook my head inhaling on the lho snickering to find it far too much fun to enjoy everything, "After that things got weirder, if you can imagine! Better friends dropped more shivs, to people like me and we ignored them because we thought it was too much fun...for a bit." I shrugged again since it wasn't my fight, or business considering May hummed lightly, "Sounds fun! Gang lords and hives tend to be simple, so I think since I've never been to one, Marcos. I can see why our Inquisitor is patient with you...since I expected you know Skit and Jane."

My laughter turned earnestly thankful to wipe a tear away, "We knew about them but didn't know them, Emperor help us be praised." I looked ahead whistling to see Slithe slowing down which meant we'd have a bit of fun to give us the Emperor's blessing, "Throne, it was fun dropping shivs and seeing others get a laugh out of it. But things kept getting...uh, a bit fecking insane after a month, or two...I think?" I scratched my head trying to figure that one out, if May's giggling found it adorable and I ignored it.

"Emperor...after that, I think something fecking happened involving our Governor?" I shrugged yet again not concerned explaining to my superior who took it with sweetened patience, "We didn't hear about it until the Arbites asked us for help...weirdly enough. I didn't know fecking shit, I only got a shiv from better friends...so, I just ignored it. Lot of us did, we stuck to our corners and fecking watched out for each other...it was fun that way."

May started laughing trying to hide what Tartarus believed entirely wrong, "Throne, kid! You're a ganger at heart!" I smiled kindly raising a lho all too impishly, "I try! Too much fun, I like you because you like Slithe...right?" I giggled loudly making the elder girl grimace, "Barely, Neophyte. You're doing her favors, a mutant...is not to be trusted. Our Inquisitor is only allowing it because you somehow love it."

I cackled not denying that truth to inhale on my lho happily, "That's why Augustus and Kern don't expect me down here, or you. They know I'm just being funny, or so they like to think."I giggled making my Interrogator shake her head, "Tartarus enjoys your games, Marcos. No wonder why you saved me, I'm sparing her from...aggravation? You're too kind, boy." I snapped my fingers smiling coyly to whistle as a dagger traced along the wall. You'll be an Inquisitor at my expense since Tartarus wants me down here to make use of it, as a friend May...I told you I'll give you everything and ask for nothing because of Faith, I like smiles.

Slithe stopped between some containers holding the aquilla to beam happily as she waved us forward pointing to a back entrance. I'll tell you more later, Interrogator Willen. It's...funny. Skipping ahead humming I stepped over a corpse which had their throat slit. Kneeling next to it I noticed it wasn't one of the Psycho's, so that meant something was brewing between the gangs. It seemed that Cadian wanted them in line, or rather...warning them of helping Slithe again.

"Nice people you found Slithe, I'm impressed!" I remarked serenely to smile towards the mutant girl who shyly nodded, "T...ha...nk...y...ou..." I kindly grinned to stand up inhaling on the lho humming looking at the wall. Where, where...oh, feck! Might as well knock, I can't be too kind and it's too much fun to not be surprising.

Pounding on the metallic wall I stood back humming rather knowingly as peering into the warp revealed a reddish signature approaching. The Interrogator leaned behind observing patiently as Slithe knocked again forcefully frowning, "...S...lim..e...g...ut..." I giggled when a piece of metal slide back revealing eyes which narrowed horrified when I waved, "Mind if I ask a favor? Slithe likes me, I like her and I heard you're willing...to have a bit of fun?"

The guttural low gothic gang hissed angrily, "Go away boy. You're not welcomed here!" I raised an eyebrow grinning to innocently remark, "Neither is that Cadian, right?" Slithe tugged on my arm frantically beaming to say my name, "M..ar..cos." Her expression seem far too hopeful as I rolled my eyes exasperated. She trusted me so much, I was too kind to not feel a bit flattered if only just enjoying such faith.

"No, Slithe!" That guttural voice rasped back hissing partially enraged, "He's worse than that man! Feck off!" She frowned angrily to stomp forward to harshly hiss back all too kindly, "...N...o..." I hummed openly with both eyes closed enjoying faith's rewards to those who never believed. I loved seeing such kindness of our Emperor repaid to those to keep true, I looked over pointing to the girl's neck impishly.

"Show him your faith's belief for miracles to happen, Slithe...please?" I requested humming to glance over and notice a crude shiv conveniently on a corpse. Smiling pleased I reached over kneeling to grab it and saw it wasn't too useful. But I shrugged to know I couldn't be too surprised considering of all things honestly, "...l...o...ok..." The girl hissed pulling an aquilla which was blessed after being meant for damnation, faith's meaning to know prayers were answered by one who saw it and the Emperor was too sweet to not give me a smile cruelly pleased.

"No...no fecking way!" It rasped disbelievingly when I walked up to simply hand a crude shiv hilt first to have him take it, "The Emperor protects." I whispered to smile innocently as he yelped backing away when I heard metal clack loudly. Psychically reaching out I spoke kindly to a man who froze in absolute horror. Faith does not reward those who stand by the Emperor, not of word my friend, he requires action to bring truth for it is required for those to seek redemption and I am...here to give you something on Faith alone.

Slithe's hand gripped my shoulder tugging when she hissed angrily, "...Op..en.." Too much fun couldn't be ignored as the door slid open with a trembling ganger who backed away, "Thank you...friend." I stated to walk forward humming as a mutant girl guided me past beaming happily. Humming contently I inhaled on a lho flipping the dagger back and forth impishly, "They're interested Interrogator Willen, or do you think we need a little...Faith?"

The elder girl chuckled following behind to state sweetly, "The Emperor protects, indeed." I giggled all too kindly finding it too sweet to not enjoy a compliment. We were lead down a small hallway were rubble had been crudely sharpened into shivs, and other such lovely things meant for blood. Along walls were shivs of all sorts, or an occasional auto-pistol with crude designs eerily reminiscent of an aquilla scratched on by those who'd believed without doubt.

Faithful...they are, Neophyte. Willen observed smiling fondly to make myself only shrug innocently again, "Those who seek our Emperor's blessings cannot be ignored, for they are of our Faith and I cannot ignore such kind fun to be made against those who consort with Chaos...Interrogator, or do you believe it's wrong to not offer a reward for such dedication?" She sounded modestly reluctant to just order me sweetly, "Please...give them their just rights for being faithful to our Emperor, I can't ignore such kindness as well."

I inclined a nod obediently to my superior who couldn't at all ignore such heresy being allowed to flourish in clear sight. Understood, it'll be fun to play. The hallway immediately turned right into a opened area where various people from mutations, or less which seemed human enough knelt praying in abundance. So many, so many who stood against that Cadian's heresy...so much and yet no one heard them cry out for help.

Others stood watch peering between cracks in boarded up windows, or carried rusted weapons of auto-pistol or shiv equally. Peering into the warp did I sense plenty of anxiety, fear and a sense of delightful sensations akin to emotional damnation. Oh how cruel of such Faith to be not rewarded, I can only be so kind to enjoy fun to be made. Augustus...you're too kind to not give me such games to play, I think it's only fair...to thank you.

One by one they whipped their faces back hissing, or backing away as if a daemon had just appeared right in front of them. My smile curled pleasantly pleased, "Slithe...are these all your friends?" I spoke softly to see the girl nodded happily, "How kind." More would be told eventually if this was where all shivs met funnily enough, "I heard the Psychos are out for blood, I'm here to drop a shiv and curious if you're interested...to know it can be offered on good faith."

Signatures of reddish anger, rage and disgust arose when they heard my voice far too apparently. They knew I wasn't pretending unlike beforehand, I'd only ignored it and as such they were angry because I was here after Slithe had been caught. The Cadian agent was far too loathsome, far too cruel and as a result I'd be kind enough to repay said favor on faith alone. Yet they were only seeking redemption because no one saw their faith in such a place.

"My superior has given me on good faith, to tell you all have a choice...to spill blood and get a shiv." I looked over seeing several men growling to expose fanged teeth, "Or you can stay here! Your little problem is only a...word from being gone." I snapped my fingers kindly enough to make it clear, "Will you fight against the heresy which you so...endured on Faith alone? The Emperor is with you, in me and he's no longer silent to hear your prayers. Slithe is standing...right next to me, so is that hard to believe or know it's possible to see?"

I grinned leering to see them flinch as horror met their emotions making it all seem too kind. They were just expecting to die, if only by Chaos's indirect influences. I sneered to make the lho stick burn with smoke rising, "You saved a faithful girl, who'd been damned and wronged...to horrors by her sister which is reaping the penance of damnation. But you suffered for such holy actions, I cannot allow that to go unchecked...so, do you want blood for blood? I can offer it, I want nothing and you get everything to know your faith rewards your convictions."

One ganger rasped out a choking scream, "You...you lie! You burned and sent one of us...into ash!" I smiled serenely to giggle pointing out, "And yet here I am. Offering you vengeance for nothing, to show your faith in our Emperor and to know...I saw everything. The man who keeps you here will die, he will be shown such blindness and careless hate...is not accepted for those who believe in our Emperor's divinity."

I stepped forward innocently smiling to see several step back fearfully and I raised a dagger all too kindly, "You can pretend you're not hurting, suffering and go back to staying hopeless in such a place...or you can have a shiv! Blood is blood, favors repaid and I trust you all to remain true to our Emperor's divinity. Slithe believed...she believed so hard and I didn't see until she cried out to me, begging and hoping for someone to save her." I offered a dagger to the girl who took it crying and pointed to them nodding happily.

They stiffened seeing a cruel smile worm its way past too kindly clear to them. Do you all want to keep Faith the Emperor is with you, or do you want...to remain in this filthy place? Eyes watered trying to deny what many ignored, what few saw and I only smiled innocently to point towards a girl whose faith never died. She's right here in front of you, so how I can I lie? Is that truth, or do you not believe your prayers have been heard...by someone who'll give you everything in exchange for nothing...Slithe believes so happily.

Psychic tendrils had dipped into their skulls leisurely since none were aware and I smiled all too kindly for giving them a bit of fun. Isn't that fun, to fight back and you'll be rewarded...on good faith? It's okay, I can believe it too...if you choose as well. Their eyes looked to each other making a grin form among them when I nodded only innocently, "Become faithful who defend others who cannot see, or hear what you know is wrong. The Emperor protects and you shall be granted peace to know he has not abandoned you in this place...I am here standing, Slithe is standing and is that not enough proof you're being granted opportunity to have fun?"

Turning around I walked out towards an exit with Slithe following to clutch an arm far too kindly and I spoke over a shoulder, "Heresy cannot be ignored by those of Faith, if you ignore it...you are damned to stay unable to be something. The Cadian will be gone, my superior and I shall take him away and you shall be...be at peace to have fun as you known it'd happen. The shiv is right there...it is yours to use and I'll be kindly enough to say it's not going anywhere else."

Taking several steps a person called out hesitantly making my smile curl cruelly kind, "Why...why help us now?" It was too simple as I looked back towards Slithe who moved closer trying to stop tears from falling, "Because your Slithe's friends...I like friends. I like Slithe but is it not fun to play for blood, when something just gives you a shiv?" I questioned turning away to hum lightly as a girl followed all too happily raising the dagger with tears dripping past cheeks. Show them Slithe, why should they doubt when I gave you...faith?

The girl hissed in tongues between low gothic and other such fun words lifting a torn dress to clutch my arm tightly. Her hands trembled to cry revealing horrors they'd known, they couldn't try to stop it or they risked everything...for nothing. I hummed kindly waiting patiently as a dagger lifted clothe to see claws, or other such things she'd been thrown to satisfy. It was kind of her to speak since I wasn't going to be pretend she'd been good. Very good, if only a bit earnest and I couldn't help but smile serenely to see her eyes water happily.

Tell them Slithe, why should they not fight for the Emperor's faith? You saw me save you, so why not you save them? I smiled knowingly to see her expression turn angry to screech at mutations and humans who heard her reason, "The shiv is in your hands. Have fun and go play, blood is blood and we're all willing to shall we say...earn our faith's rewards?" I questioned them with a shrug to move past the doorway as the girl followed happily, excited and buried her face into my shoulder much to a playful smile threatening to slip.

Humming contently again I absently took an auto-pistol off a wall inspecting it. Loaded, how wonderful! I guess they're willing after all, I like playing games...too much fun! I whistled casually walking out the door as my superior came out from behind nodding fairly impressed. We walked over towards a wall and waited patiently when hissing, or screeching from within could be heard quite clearly.

"Think they'll do it?" May asked me as I shrugged, "More, or less. Slithe did all the work and they like her...I like her too. Too much fun!" The mutant girl giggled cutely and nuzzled against my neck as I frowned a bit exasperated. I'd forgotten she liked me too...much.

You love attention, don't you? I inhaled on the lho musingly as she looked brightened to nod all too happily. I complimented such opportunity to giggle, "Bold...Slithe. I like it!" An innocent laugh followed by her shrugging making my gaze trail over towards an Interrogator's bemusement, "Emperor be praised, or do I think she's learning...right?"

We waited for several minutes contently in silence as I leaned against a metallic wall looking upwards. The four winged creature had perched itself staring downward, "I miss Skit, I think he and that up are going to have a lot of fun together." I cackled since it'd be too much fun as my superior questioned a bit fond, "So what happened...Marcos?"

Tapping my thigh I relaxed relatively to remember old news and memories which weren't entirely worth putting up. May...where I did leave off? I absently questioned my Interrogator who responded rather bemused, "The Governor." I frowned trying to recall what else happened since it'd gotten fairly fun and I wasn't denying I didn't enjoy it.

"Feck like I said...things were weird when the Arbites asked us for help, I mean odd enough!" I shrugged again not willing to put much thought into it, "Lot of us kept to our corners dropping shivs, or better friends kept themselves in place...I got a shiv from one friend, who found out a weird thing or two...I ignored it. It was real weird almost grox shit, but we kept dropping shivs for others if they wanted them."

Lifting the lho-stick to inhale deeply I hummed innocently, "But things got really out of hand, I think Skit pulled something or least what we heard...Jane had showed up again." I whistled remembering it'd been bad enough, "Friends in the Guard got stirred up, Arbites were panicking and I mean real scary stuff May, I didn't care because we were having fun. I kept to my corner, I got a shiv and I ignored it since we didn't...care, it wasn't our fight. Fecking Skit, I think Tartarus would scare him since things got extremely...weird again."

The Interrogator absently pointed out, "Was he making a move in that hive?" I shrugged again trying to put together that oddity which didn't make sense, "Like I said Willen, we got the feck out of that because I ignored it and a few friends who'd know...we didn't! Friends who were smarter than me? They told us, I only kept to my corner like others who were better than me...but that's when Jane of all people, she...came around looking for old pets again."

I cackled loudly trying to enjoy that fun all over again, "Shivs were dropped." I looked over smiling to leer kindly, "People disappeared quickly...fast." I snapped my fingers to prove a point, "And before you ask she didn't come and get me...I only kept to myself but others didn't." The Interrogator smiled serenely to question me knowingly, "She was searching for qualities, a ritual of daemonic intention and I can imagine you didn't know. It sounds like you're describing a gang war, Marcos...one you didn't take part in."

My smile curled far too cruelly kind, "No...that is not a gang war." I pointed to the entrance making that clear, "That's a gang war, if you want me to make a joke." I felt exasperated at this point to relax contently, "I'm kind to bring Faith to them, May. Slithe deserves it...I just make it happen because they're a gang, I like it. And no...I did not fight Skit, or Jane at all." She raised an eyebrow disbelievingly to make me laugh loudly finding it ironic, if she'd expected me to be far too generous to risk my neck.

"That was fecking grox shit way above where I skimmed the streets, I only dropped shivs and that's it!" I shrugged utterly exasperated to crack my neck, "Anyway Skit and Jane fell off somewhere...no one knows why, I only heard it from a friend who dropped my shiv." I scratched my head trying to avoid making an Interrogator think otherwise, "She and not me, May got pulled by Jane...somehow, again...thinking they'd be lovers, or some fecking weird thing...I guess?"

I shuddered outright not willing to remember that lovely fun time I almost walked into unluckily, "Gross fecking shit, Willen." Inhaling on the lho-stick I finally got to the best part since my superior would be telling everything to our Inquisitor, "Like I said, Interrogator Willen...she dropped a shiv, I walked in and it was a weird fecking place. Saw lot of people who I knew, if only...scared?" I laughed loudly finding that too funny considering I'd heard of them, but never met them and it was too much fun to see them cry.

The elder girl hummed rather disappointingly trying to make sense of what I'd just said since I wasn't lying, "That makes sense Marcos, you do care about friends right?" I nodded simply gesturing to Slithe for good measure to make my superior pretty clear, "Walked in saw Jane, my friend who was crying her eyes out and I shot her in the knee cap with a pistol..." I raised the one I picked up giggling shrugging to cease remembering how lovely that was to watch. Too much fun indeed, I found it kind enough repay said shiv I'd gotten.

May gestured simply as I giggled finding it all funny, "Pulled her out, walked off...then daemons appeared since I know now! They tore her apart, I was a little...kind." I laughed loudly clapping my hands to mention a bit cheekily, "She tried to feck me over. Nice friend, right?" I smiled serenely to make the girl huff out irritably. I was having too much fun to not enjoy being so kind, "And I shot said daemon in it's face...ran into Tartarus."

Inside the ganger container hissing and shuffling of shivs, or pistols being taken out were heard. Thank Slithe, she's a good friend. I psychically stated my Interrogator with a fond smile, "Think that Cadian agent is going to be sweetly visited? I'm interested to see you make him sing grox shit, if you want my help to have a bit of fun?" I giggled seeing the elder girl roll her eyes, "You're a ganger! Let's get this mission done...Neophyte Eius."

Raising an arm when noticing a shroud descending I caught the four winged creature which made Slithe's gaze trail upwards. One peered downward freezing said girl naturally as I smiled serenely, "Don't worry...he's a friend." A beak lightly nipped Slithe's cheek who giggled finding it funny as I leaned against the wall grinning, "And he's your...friend, too." That was far too kind of me, if only to keep a girl having faith in those who didn't keep promises.

Slithe kept leading us past crowds of gangers and other such inhabitants who were earnestly unaware of our approach. She kept beaming pridefully when I raised a lho-stick all too kindly, "Think she's having fun?" The girl shrugged indifferently, "She's a mutant! Not surprising, but capable which I can tolerate since you were...gifted."

I cheekily snickered unable to resist to just flip a shiv on hand, "Friends are friends!" Checking the auto-pistol to lightly tap it against my thigh to frown, "Not good, enough." But I shrugged unwilling to use a shiv provided, if only through the Emperor's work to be done rightfully. Want Slithe and I to hold him down, or are you going to be fine without my help? May Willen smiled sweetly to pat my head quite flattered, "Just watch and if I need some fun, Marcos? Please be kind, I do have to keep him alive for a while."

My smile curved pleasantly enough to obey an order which was far too kind in hindsight. Slithe, where's the back door? An innocent girl beamed to quickly move leaving us both amused, "She's good." I laughed uncontrollably finding so much fun in her expression, I couldn't even pretend it wasn't and that was the Emperor blessing for faith to be rewarded. Shuddering happily I hopped in place giggling leaving little to not feel adrenaline flowing.

Coming around a corner to view an interesting series of containers which had been stacked, welded and conveniently placed for secrecy proved kind enough. Peering with psychic will I smiled far too cruelly amused, "He's drinking." The superior next to me chuckled viewing said location as well, "Yes...how convenient as you'd say? Neophyte Eius, I like it when you're my nightmare...you don't cease to be kind to those who are friends."

"I like friends, May...but thank you!" I chirped walking forward humming all too happily waiting to get an order to enjoy some fun. However I had to wait once Slithe pointed towards a corner of the building were metal met another junction. Marcos, I need you to pay attention and watch. This is how you make someone answer a door, okay? May's pleasant voice whispered into my own psyche as I nodded to stop in place observing simply.

The elder casually moved to where said entrance had been hidden and simply knocked at first. She shuffled an undershirt to reveal bare shoulders leaving me to whistle wincing, "That's...cruel." It opened revealing a ganger who paused almost stunned as May's sweet voice whisper, "Hi...I'm looking for someone dangerous, if you're willing to show me?" She swayed in place cooing getting a man leering as a deceptive coo beckoned him walking forward, "Oh...are you dangerous, little man? Very sweet of you."

Psychic will alone had my grin curling more as a tendril reached out and suggestion alone invoked desires. Lust...that's far too kind, if not a bit cruel. Fascinating! I thought whistling lowly to see a ganger being coaxed as he tried lunging into the Interrogator's dagger. He gurgled once to fall over leaving May to coyly wipe crimson on his back, "Sorry. You're not too dangerous, okay?" Her shoulders got covered to gesture us forward, I almost felt sorry for that Cadian since she'd been damned to be thrown away.

So much fun to be had, I'm never going to regret being so kind to friends! I snickered kicking a man's face aside humming following another teacher inside unworried. Turns out none of them knew what was just behind them, if the lack of warning alone. She moved ahead sending two more corpses falling over as a knife glinted in low light, "Scary." I mouthed to see an elder girl making a shushing motion grinning expectantly.

It didn't long to see a wall with slits, or cracks meant for someone to take shots if conveniently ordered by hand signs. Smiling widely since I hadn't wrong, it'd been too strange if he'd tried to kill me already months ago. Augustus...you fecked with the wrong person, I'm sure you'll see why. Slithe tried moving behind myself as I raised a finger, "Wait...behind here. You'll be needed to make sure, if May and I need a witness."

I winked gently to make the mutant girl shyly nod clutching an aquilla whose holiness alone was worth everything. Trust me, you'll get to see some fun from right over...there! I tapped one eye hole reassuringly since May was gesturing to her temple, "Keep them in place, Neophyte. Just don't spoil the fun, please?" Inclining a playful nod I reached outwards allowing psychic will and energy to extend outwards to settle into exactly twenty nine minds, it was easy if only because Tartarus knew I'd been growing in strength gradually.

Two bracelets glowered with a sickly orange meant to keep control and it was too fun to not try to play that game. None of them are aware, I'm a bit disappointed. Shrugging exasperatedly I kept my eyes still closed to see signatures suddenly growing into panic. Not one of them was moving, or else they'd learn to feel their minds liquefying. I hated that feeling, if only because daemons weren't kind enough to stop breaking what loved misery.

"Thank you, my little nightmare." An Interrogator casually moved through a doorway pushing it aside as I followed happily humming to observe obediently. As an entire bar, tavern or hub of such lovely people grew horrified...I grinned cruelly pleased to speak out impishly, "Never drop shivs, or else a friend might pick up! And then he might just appear all too happily, for being around for a friend in need...to help out."

The Cadian's eyes were wide struggling as his arms refused to obey a will far crueler and happier to keep them right in place. Slithe sends her regards, Cadian. I shrugged before walking over casually past several frozen men who gasped for air desperately. I spoke up a bit curiously enough, "Interrogator Willen, shall I put them to sleep? Or do you need them alive?"

She gave an indifferent shrug settling onto a chair all too calmly, "End them. They're worthless Marcos...don't ask a dumb question, please?" She drew out exasperated as I nodded all too bored, "As your order, sorry...you're not friends of mine." I flicked my hand allowing psychic energy to seep into unguarded psyches forcing hearts, or brains to imply stop. And as a result all of them fell over gagging on foams of crimson white.

"You...fecking kids...are dead." Augustus's agent rasped out struggling to break free as I laughed harshly, "Watch your friends, I shall appear!" I kept laughing find the man far too funny, or rather a little too blind to his fate. May was taking her time to bring out a data-slate, her dagger and humming to point out mildly, "Marcos...behave, please."

I groaned openly to stiffly remain twitching my jaw a bit impatiently since it'd been fun to watch this man sing grox-shit. My superior was taking her time given we weren't supposed to be down on this deck, or hopefully it'd be known. She wanted me to behave, I'd behave and I prayed to the Emperor for strength to flip my dagger irritably. It was going to take a while for her lessons to sink in, or I hoped enough to see it eventually.

"Augustus...Cadian." She said sweetly making the man gnash his teeth refusing to budge, "Stay...out, girl. You don't know...what you're digging into..." Her eyes coyly narrowed to whisper far too knowingly to dare, "Oh we do! My nightmare is standing right over there, I promised him a lesson and if you don't want to speak? He'll just...have a bit of fun." She was offering quite a fair promise if I had to think of it honestly. The dagger blessed with incantations glowered ominously due to psychic will channeling clear signs of warning.

The man screamed out due to the Interrogator smiling serenely to bash eyelashes deceptively, "Girl...you will have your...head mounted by Kern." She shook her head tiredly, "Marcos...please do him a favor. Don't kill him, or injure critical organs." I smiled cruelly flipping a shiv on hand to lean right next to his sweating snarling, "Slithe sends her shiv, I picked it up and now you're going to play nice...filth."

I slammed the blade right into his hand as a shrill scream seemed inadequate, "...fecking...boy!" I giggled turning and twisting to draw out another rasping growl. He deserved quite a sentence yet it was my decision to make reluctantly when my superior held a wry grin, "Shall I have him continue? Or do you want to see a real nightmare...Cadian?" He didn't seem convinced grinding both sets of teeth to have another twist pin a hand to the table's surface. Yet I held a serene smile humming contently wishing by the Emperor's grace he gave me a kindness to return.

"Why are you on...Tartarus's vessel?" May questioned simply to have him tremble shuddering when I partially opened both eyes to get a spasm sending him to speak gritting high gothic, "Augustus...is interested in the boy. He's been cursed by Chaos." She waved me away to speak questioningly wary, "And why is that interesting? Curses are sorcery, it's not new...unless he's afraid, or is he just having a bit of fun orchestrating all of this down here, Cadian."

The man sneered allowing glinting magenta eyes to shine fully, "It's worse girl...Chaos is gathering beyond a vile brewing storm...of unimaginable hellish monsters." His voice turned cruelly pitiful to have us both look to each other, "I'm a turn coat because I ran from my home, I heard things you'd never imagine and I hated everything because why not? He found me, he wanted me down here...to warn you: enjoy my treachery because I don't give a feck about this Imperium. The Eye of Terror is growing slowly, sure and you feel the horrors leaking out reality where I saw it above me everyday...it is alive and this boy?"

He cackled finding misery in my smile of plain kindness, "Another among millions being gathered...or converted to begin a war we have never imagined in our own nightmares." I gnashed both teeth tightly when this kind man believed every word, not a scant lie or anything stood out to have my smile fade into a cruel pleasantry. Esdainn...my stage is being set. You didn't just mean that Masque, oh you...xeno's bitch.

Even my superior frowned almost openly trying to make sense of a heretical Cadian who fled from his planet, "Cowardice is acceptable, soldier..." The girl stated stiffly, "But heresy is unforgivable and you willingly played to have Augustus...give you all of this fun?" His smile cruelly found a far too much pleasurable joy, "Oh yes, girl. It doesn't matter...mutants, expendable, humans...too little and seeing them all suffer if a mercy. Praise the...corpse, children."

I sneered to shake my head to a pull out an auto-pistol aiming the barrel just underneath his leg. A sharp bang sent him crying out due the bullet lodged behind the knee cap. Heresy, I cannot ignore! I psychically whispered kindly to give him an ample shiv repaid, if only partially and I respectfully requested softly, "Willen, please! The girl?"

She gave an impeccable nod understanding what these heretics refused to harbor as Alicia would say to me every time. Slithe, you can come out. A quick fluttering of feet gave my smile a fondness I never tried to understand. Friends, I cared about friends and yet it just didn't seem worth trying to give them everything for nothing...for a change. This is too much fun, I think I'm going to like these daemons who are going to give me a kind warning But the Cadian, oh I like it when I find friends who don't know better friends.

Slithe came slowly around the corner standing to bury herself into my back, "Don't worry. He's not going to touch you." I offered a kind smile straining to not deliver judgment on a heretic who smirked hungrily, "By the corpse itself, why are you so kind pretending to be a boy who protects a girl?" I didn't reply in favor of awaiting towards of an Interrogator who leaned backward. Corruption of Chaos tendrils were appearing around this Cadian man in potency, he'd been corrupted by Chaos and Augustus knew of it...as a dead end.

He's the source of Chaos's taint on this deck...May. I psychically whispered staring down eyes which glowered in reddish and blackened swirls smiling cruelly. Emperor, I was wrong...so fecking wrong. This isn't just too much fun...it's exhilarating.I kept an expression of joy, for it hadn't faded to grow wider and wide until teeth were on full display matching madness all too happily. The Emperor hadn't forsaken me yet.

"Hello...boy...are you happy?" The daemonic possessed was of an entity which we thought had been banished earlier had only just moved to it's original home, "Happy to purge a heretic." I shot back playfully as it growled chortling, "Spoken...well...child..." Slithe whimpered hiding into my coat to make an entity coo sadly, "Don't believe...girl...he'll be one of us."

I twitched my jaw refusing to give into temptation to rip those damned eyes out. Willen, what is this daemonic...creature? In the warp shrouds were lazily forming a Cadian as if they'd been patiently been within sight. I didn't get answer for several moments due to May's piercing glare gauging warily since we'd stumbled in something worse, "Change." She whispered slowly to send a shiver down my spinal cord far too pleasantly.

"Benevolent...nor malevolent...hope..." It gleefully cackled clicking teeth when those eyes kept trailing around eerily unfocused, "...you...fate...two..." Gnashing teeth angrily since this entity made literally no sense, but it did...speak truth? The girl kept whimpering trying to suppress nightmares and horrors due to his fecking daemonic game, I almost found it tempting to laugh when it cooed clacking teeth happily, "Happiness...hope...coincide..."

The Emperor alone couldn't provide an answer to this madness, I found myself staring right into truthfully. What in the feck are you? I psychically growled trying to shake off an incredible sense of being toyed with unintentionally. Change...boy. I flinched backwards when it slyly smiled to tilt it's head back and forth. Storms...gather...shadows...grow...you deny fate!

My head started to ache far too irritably, "May...can we kill this daemon now?" She shook her head tapping high gothic words into a data-slate, "No. Keep it speaking, Marcos. This isn't what we expected, so please be patient." I didn't pretend when my eyes opened revealing a nightmare to a daemonic spawn of madness and of contradictions, it was sickening, it was both truth and lie to have chilling hear it speak.

"Talk...change...will...power!" I glared staring right back into eyes which were widening almost shockingly impressed, "Desires...mark...jealously..." Tilting myself to see it rasp in a shrill call as the man's body convulsed openly, "What are you?" I just said it simply exasperated unable to understand what I was even seeing, or believing entirely.

"What...me...or...you?" I frowned to question it weirdly, "You...change, me or I?" The daemon hissed through flesh to grudgingly speak out, "Servant...Change!" It was speaking in riddles, a lot of riddles and I wasn't understanding fecking shit to imagine for whatever reason. I only prayed Slithe wouldn't drop me more shivs for this kind of madness again, or I'd wish I were dead honestly.

Humming equally disturbed and fascinated, I chewed on a lho to speak in trying to riddle it back, "Desire...I, or you of me? I shuddered openly when it screeched flipping a man's head back and forth angrily, "Desire...you...me...change!" I prayed to the Emperor without hesitation to wonder if this madness would end soon enough. An auto-pistol seemed real tempting to put one bullet into this heretic's skull to end my misery!

"Interrogator Willen...I praise the Emperor for speaking honestly that weird fecking shit happens only to me!" I lamented sourly since everything planned had been expected and yet I was peering into a daemon which lost technically. I scratched my head unable to figure what shiv to drop, or even wondering whose friends were who at this point.

It clacked teeth angrily when I said the Emperors, "Slave...Anathema...order...I!" I frowned intensively trying to figure that insanity which I tried interestingly, "I order...change slave?" The daemonic host shrieked when I leaned against the table peering right into eyes which hastily and moving to be averted. What the feck is this shit? Interrogator Willen...I'm having a lot of fun with this fecking thing!

May laughed openly unable to believe what she'd been seeing earnestly, "Marcos...Tartarus is trying to figure out what your eyes do to daemons, humans and it's a reason why I'm teaching you." I laughed almost unbelievably shocked to slap the table hard, "Oh feck! That is too funny, oh Emperor...you are going to get a kind favor."

I pulled myself onto a table knocking over several glass bottles to smile serenely amused, "Is interrogating daemonic possessions...unique?" I asked fascinated giggling to see it hiss hatefully as May warily kept my fun under control, "Not as...gifted. You and I suspected it was just Augustus's agent down here, which is true...but this is something else entirely. So to me it seems like you understand it, but again I don't believe you're controlling it...try to make it speak more."

I grinned to lean forward leering far too amused by the Emperor's blessings, "What's your game and whose a friend?" Flesh started turning bluish near darkened coloration when it clacked teeth, "Desire...change...anger...I!" The words sounded furious clearly which forced me to puff out lho a bit confused. Desire angered change, or did I anger them as the question made a leg swing lazily off a table's edge.

"Desire angered Change?" I slowly questioned grinning to twitch a lho-stick back and forth seeking a thrill of fun shivs, "Seek...desire...I...change!" That sounded awfully strange to get to comment, "Ah...feck, I don't get it...May." I called over a shoulder confused to flip a dagger irritably, "What is it saying? I don't get it for Emperor's sake!"

Her eyes rolled signaling she had no answer either, "Marcos...I've never heard, or seen of what you're doing either!" We weren't going to get anything else out of this daemonic possession considering it wasn't telling anything. I couldn't understand it at all, if anything it was just playing and we got the information about Octavian so it'd been...weird as feck to keep it alive. Are we done with this Heretic, Interrogator?

That sly smile only provided what I'd been awaiting to drop a shiv for those who needed friends. I gave an over grin radiating kind intentions, "Go home, daemon. Or I'll starting praying to the Emperor...if you want?" The tendrils of blackened corruption swirled dangerously before retracting rapidly as it hissed one last warning of hatred, "We...don't...rest...cursed boy!" And a possession faded into mist making a Cadian heretic slump forward limply.

After a moments of realizing whatever possession had taken place I scratched my head, "Feck daemons are weird! Any idea what is meant?" The answer I heard wasn't exactly comforting, "No, I'll have to work with our Inquisitor to figure it out, Marcos." She had a pondering expression trying to make sense when gun shots began erupting outside. I shrugged to get off the table flipping a dagger on hand to gesture to a groaning man, "We get everything we could out of him? Fecker needs a shiv dropped, Slithe's favor I owe."

The Interrogator debated for a few moments to reluctantly deny a fatal conclusion, "He's valuable to Salvus as a favor to Tartarus, Neophyte. He'll be after Kern for putting him up to concealing this Heresy and..." I shook my head laughing leaning backward as a hand gripped fistfuls of hair tilting it upwards. A shroud within the warp came shimmering above as a four winged creature landed smoothly onto an open shoulder, "Oh feck no, I get that! Little gift to Augustus for thinking he's good, I need to let him see that personally."

Humming loudly I made sure to just angle a face upwards as a bird like creature flew briefly spreading wings to land. Talons clacked against wood as two heads lowered dangerously predatory to get a grin spreading cruelly, "Fecker need a shiv to drop, friends...don't leave friends without repaying a favor to my efforts, May. Slithe?" I questioned looking over to see her peering shyly to smile as I winked, "Don't blink...please!"

The Cadian groaned groggily swaying lightly in place when I tapped a dagger's tip right into an exposed throat casually, "You...fecker, need a lesson. Augustus needs a lesson, so let's send it together and fecking hope...he see's it." I giggled happily nudging the mutant girl who looked eager nodding almost enthusiastically to look away almost, "Oh Slithe...stop, I like you! Relax...I'm a friend who helps friends and you're my friend...Emperor help me!"

Peering around checking underneath a table to groan irritatingly, I looked left and right seeking something useful. Oh, feck...thank you! I exhaled smoke relieved to use the back of a boot skidding one rusted plate casually, "Does he need his eyes?" I gestured loosely making May wince a bit, she was realizing I wasn't playing nice anymore. I smirked finding it good enough to drop a shiv, help a friend and make new friends happier.

Flipping said plate towards the front of my foot, "It's going to fecking happen, or throne help me I'm cutting his balls off!" I stared simply to impishly grin to have a girl groan, "Fine...just don't kill him, please Marcos! Emperor help me...gangers!" She rolled her eyes leaving me to giggle, "Friends are friends, May. And I love helping friends...not too hard, if Slithe is finding it funny. Right, girl?" I winked to said person who nodded happily.

Either way May, you got what you wanted and I get this lovely place to clean up! I psychically stated serenely to flip the plate upwards and shifted nudging it onto the table's surface. My hand swept aside a few bottles of liquid, or other such things whistling innocently. Humming to inch it just underneath a chin did I realize I'd need a bit of help, "Slithe...hold him from that side! Fecker is going to scream and really...move around, so might as well make it easier!"

The bird creature hissed from two beaks which extended revealing teeth looking rather serrated, "Oh...throne! He's gonna be hurting, oh that's wonderful!" I smiled tiredly realizing it'd be a painful process which would make a few friends feel protected, "Ready, girl?" I asked eagerly as a low mummer replied eagerly, "...Y...e...s." Jumping in place to get some blood flowing I hummed to jerk a chin towards the creature's dripping maws.

"Feck him up!" Two heads shot forward with wings extending and the man shrilly screamed when muted tearing of flesh became clearer. Blood splattered underneath feathers as it yanked and pulled leaving me to wince, "May...I can ask why Cadians have glowing eyes?" His kept jerking in place pulling on a dagger all too naturally as I groaned to grip it, "Never seen a person with them, so what in the Emperor's name causes that fecking kind of shit?"

The girl winced trying to not feel uneasy seeing a creature literally digging talons into shoulder pads and clothe easily, "Cadians are from a planet underneath the Eye of Terror...oh, I think that's a little extreme." I waved it off shrugging, "No, it's an eye for eye. Or is this case...two! Two heretics, two eyes and Slithe gets to giggle seeing someone deserve it...or, should I cut his balls off to make it seem better?"

She winced again hearing a tearing pop as a scream of agony kept my hands in place, "Don't mutilate him too much...Salvus is gonna need him cooperative." I huffed out air trying to laugh and hold said man's cooperation in place, "He'll live...but what's an Eye of Terror? Planet, or planets?" I questioned curiously enough to wonder how did a person get glowing eyes, or whatever the feck made them stand out too easily.

"It's a giant rift between reality and the Warp...it's very massive and Cadia is a planet guarding the only way into it." She stated slowly wincing when the bird snapped a piece of flesh aside, "It's a fortified world and Cadians are exposed to the Eye, so they're eyes...glow. And...oh throne, Marcos!" I snickered unintentionally whispering, "Eye for eye, right?"

One squishing pop landed revealing red and white leaving me to whistle, "So if I put both in front of mine. Am I a Cadian technically?" I joked leaving a girl to flat stare, "Really, kid? You did this for friends of yours?" I shrugged waving it off again mumbling, "Not always, I never played that kind of game...unless a shiv was dropped, I never bothered since my friends and I played corners making it fun a lot."

Noticing the organ rolling almost off a plates edge, I reached out and nudged it back closer to giggle since it'd roll off. But crimson droplets splashed onto my hand naturally, "Ah...feck! Gross!" I wiped it on the man's sleeve shuddering, "Think Tatarus is going to mind a gift? Fecker needs the shiv dropped, so I'm playing for blood." He kept screaming as talons dug further when a head retracted lapping up sparse reddish meat. May nursed away a headache trying to be hopeful, "She'll tell you to deliver it, boy. I can make it happen, if only to keep her...less aggravated."

I smiled kindly to just hum contently as another pop sounded off, "Thanks! Always liked dropping off shivs personally...makes it fun. Only thing we have to do now, is wait and see if the Psychos can mop up the rest of them." The girl raised an eyebrow looking back towards a doorway where screams and auto-pistols went off wildly, "I'll send word via the vox...she'll send some troopers down and make sure, if they behave as you'd put it."

I wasn't too worried considering Slithe giggled innocently enough to wink towards myself, "Oh they'll have their turf set and blood marked. Friends of Slithe are friends of mine, so she'll...keep them happy to know what shivs to drop and keep an eye on." Another squishing tear ended quickly when the creature flapped backwards to gently place an eye onto a plate, "Fecker is moving Slithe, hold him tighter for throne's sake. I need to find a couch, or bed to lay down for a bit...might as well enjoy some time to wait."

May exhaled loudly shaking her head leaving me to shrug, "Gang wars don't last long, if a shiv is dropped and they're quick for blood. It's normal, or else they'd get big enough to take up streets and Arbites get called in...which none are here, so it's too much fun." The man's screaming was lowering into rasps of shock and inevitably just passed out, "Finally! Usually they're out cold after one eye is out, Cadians sure can take a few hits. Shame I don't like them, or is that normal for them to turn and disappear?"

Her answer proved rather interesting to hear when lowly murmuring, "No. They don't run, or turn traitor and that's unique enough! But this one did, so I couldn't say for sure it's normal at all." Slithe helpfully slid a plate over shyly seeking a smile, "Thank you!" I smiled kindly to shrug back to an elder girl, "Feck that's grox shit! Well, I'll go find a place to rest with Slithe and we'll wait for Tartarus to show up...eventually. She's probably pissed at me, again."

The girl dourly remarked, "Yes, I'd imagine!" The data-slate got filled in several more lines of high gothic to make an exhausted expression appear, "Go and explore, Marcos! There's a lot I have to over, understand and help our Inquisitor...please don't wander off." I shrugged complying to that request since I wasn't going to get involved between gangs until I had too, "Understood. Know a place to rest and enjoy a lho, Slithe?"

Her expression turned incredibly eager to nod happily pointing towards a hallway across an entire bar's ruined interior. Slithe...are you sure? I peered seeing several signatures huddling past walls and most were almost happy in sheer radiance, "Oh feck...May, I think I'm going to be making more friends." I giggled slapping my thigh to see a coy indifference from a mutant girl, "If Tartarus shows up, I'll be in there trying to make sure Slithe doesn't get an idea. Emperor help me...let's go, or else you'll drag me in there!"

The Interrogator looked over peering to disgustingly frown, "Gangers!" I cackled walking past to point out, "Friends of friends...of friends!" I whistled loudly to shrug off a coat and casually threw it onto a chair knocking several bottles aside. Slithe, I think you and I are going to be good friends! She giggled happily brushing aside hair to run over towards a clothe flap, "...fri...ends..." I inhaled on a lho tiredly to know most of the work was done, "Emperor be praised!"

Bypassing stocked bottles of liquid which ranged from clear, or to dirtied brown I took a clear one and I popped the cork, "Want one?" I offered to the girl who shook her head gesturing to scales along a neck and cheek, "...w...at...er?..." I nodded tossing it over to see a fond and shy smile forming, "Slithe don't...stop smiling, please!" Groaning irritatingly I ducked underneath the flap seeing curiously several rooms and a hallway leading towards an end.

Ah feck, it's a mess in here! I exclaimed whistling loudly as I peered into rooms seeing relatively cleaned, or well kept beds. Yet when I looked up I winced, "Chains...sick fecks! Is this a brothel, or a rape corner?" I shuddered not willing to imagine since it'd be deal with eventually when I had time after Tartarus showed up, "Work and more work! This is going to be an Emperor forsaken mess, I never actually...set up shop. Skit you better fecking stay dead, or I'd hate to see you down here staring at these girls...fecking servo skull!"

Despite having both eyes closed I wandered trying to figure out where those signatures had been noticed. Where...oh, throne! I exhaled exasperated allowing smoke to tickle my face, "They were locked down? Fecking...Cadian!" Grumbling angrily I stopped over kicking aside a metallic rod, I hunched over and lifted a doorway where mutants, or more human girls looked up utterly surprised to smile at first.

"Cadian is gone...get out of that grox shit hole!" I stated tiredly turning around seeing Slithe shyly nodding as I shrugged, "Don't thank me! This is all May, I'm just kind!" I was going to have a lot of work to do! Too many shivs dropped, friends to be made and I lamented towards a girl whose smile kept widening, "How many friends are around? Slithe?"

She cutely pouted appearing offended when I raised an eyebrow unimpressed, "...th..ree..hu..d..red?" I coughed loudly inhaling on lho to whistle shocked, "Oh Emperor...help me!" I groaned trying to not realize it'd have been so easy to shrug, "Ah...feck, Slithe! You're going to need to tell everything later, please...but I'm too tired for this shit. Tartarus is going to kill me, or I wish I was dead after getting May's favor in place!"

She seemed concern to tug a hand to gently push me towards a room. Slithe...don't try it! Her pout meant enough to warrant a rue grin, "I'm not that kind of cruel. Maybe...I think?" I laughed cackling to stroll viewing an earnest attempt of being friends, "Feck it! Let's play, don't have us playing hide the shiv Slithe. Emperor...you're too good!"

The room wasn't too dirtied save for chains hanging overhead dripping tattered clothing and cuffs of spiked locks. Cadians...I don't like them! Sitting back onto comfortable material to lean back, I undid several laces on each boot and kicked them off relaxing finally. May can deal with Tartarus, she'll be an Inquisitor soon enough and I get my fun down here. Thanks for being so generous, May...fecking bitch. Pull your ass out, I get fecked over and over, but Emperor help you...I'm done playing favors for what I wanted!

It'd been a long night and I wasn't willing to play shivs for nothing since it'd be on her blood to get things done. I need to rest and think for a while...too much work! I thought exasperated to inhale on a lho happily, it was too long of a night and Augustus would learn to feck off. Cadians weren't going to be my friend anytime soon, or Emperor help me to bless myself with patience! What else was to be worried about...as my gaze paused momentarily.

Oh...shit! I noticed several faces poking around Slithe who slyly made a shushing gesture as if telling the others to be quiet. Slithe, please don't try it! I psychically warned groaning openly, "Oh no...feck off!" I raised both hands sneering to wave them out, "Not interested! I drop shivs for friends, not that kind of friends!"

Slithe beamed beautifully causing my headache to grow gradually, "Emperor...fine! Keep your hands to yourself, I might as well enjoy it!" Exhaling loudly when the girl moved quickly to climb right next to me and cooed deceptively happy, "You're good...I said it too many times!" I gritted teeth when an arms curled possessively to have an elder girl snuggle right into a shoulder. Feck...feck...feck! Mutants, I can't even laugh because this is too sweet, and pathetic! Emperor damn me, or I'm going to regret owing shivs to her!

Giggling outside proved enough to warrant caution to finally speak tiredly, "I don't play games like this for fun, so don't...piss me off!" They weren't convinced as several moved in to slyly plop themselves on corners conveniently enough. It was going to be a lot of work down here, I thought and I wasn't going to pretend it'd been Emperor damning to not feel temptations. Feck, why I didn't think these friends were too...friendly? Shit for shivs, I might as well...enjoy the attention, somehow!

They got ideas far too quickly to have a lho stick burning faster as fingers innocently started straying slowly. I barked out once, "No!" But they ignored it smiling to curl around leaving me to lament this madness in misery's grace, "By the throne...don't touch what I think you're trying too!" I pulled out an auto-pistol leaving them a sign of obvious irritation as Slithe frowned, "M...ar...cos!" Pulling a barrel to have it leveled I hissed, "No...stop touching me!"

Several of their tattered shirts were starting to reveal a bit more as I screamed, "Throne! Do I look like I'm enjoying that kind of fun? Fecking...mutants!" I grumbled gnashing teeth together as a pistol kept itself in place trembling, "This is...too much. I skim corners, not skim skirts and other fecking throne shit you...ugh, bird!" I stopped to see a shroud descending as a four winged creature perched itself right above the bed's wooden posts. Two heads blinked simultaneously giving me a dour expression, "Feck you too, bird!"

I shook my head unable to shake off a wall I'd gotten myself onto, "Hugging is fine...nothing else, please!" I raised one hand towards Slithe who pouted at first, "Please...Slithe." She beamed to wrap both arms snuggling closer and sighed loudly. Throne, I'm going to hate you...aren't I? An eye opened coyly to wink once as I groaned slamming my head back onto a pillow and trying to ignore heat from so many limbs.

"Can any of you speak low gothic, or high gothic at all?" I questioned curiously when one girl who was almost a woman replied coyly, "I can!" I pointed straining to lift an arm due to another girl pressing herself a little too tightly, "Good...tell them, I don't play games like this for fun. I drop shivs, I make friends and that's it! Please!" I stressed tightly when a hand dipped underneath a shirt slyly going past ribs and onto shoulders expertly comforting.

Interrogator Willen! I psychically called out praying she'd do me a small favor as I begged the Emperor sourly. Can you get me out of this mess? Please? Her response damned me further as I scowled gritting teeth. No, you're a ganger...deal with it. Marcos, consider your reward...for being kind to me, I don't play games with kids.

I whispered harshly, "Really?" But that was a bad shiv to drop when a woman slipped off clothing smiling pleasantly, "Ungrateful bitch!" I groaned while blinking rapidly to remark a bit impressed, "Emperor bless you...those are big!" Shuddering a bit uneasy I heard Slithe whisper far too impishly mimicking myself, "...L..i..k...e?"

I glared to hiss back not enjoying the corners being put up, "Stop it! I'm almost ten!" The woman who laughed gently slid next to my arm leaving little to imagine. I whistled exasperated to compliment her for what the Emperor provided, "Those are blessed signs, indeed! If I say please, can I just relax in peace...for thrones sake!" She smiled invitingly to slide right next to an arm and I thanked my Emperor for his faithful services provided.

Holy...Emperor! They were quite soft even if I found myself exhausted to admit it, "Can I ask why you're all being kind?" Her eyes were a mix of blue and green to wink gratefully, "Slithe likes you. We like you and I like young ones!" I raised both eye brows whistling loudly, "Feck...are you serious?" My eyes were still closed at this point giving an ample truth to which she hummed simply, "Yes, I can't have children...so I adopt, boss."

Ignoring that pleasing word alone wasn't too comforting enough, when I finally gave up to simply say, "Hugging is fine! None of that kind of fun, I'm too tired for this shit...can I trust you?" She nodded at first before to pull Slithe and I closer. Absently grinning I spoke a bit muffled, "You try anything I'll bite...I swear by the Emperor's holy throne. It's comfortably, so thank you..." I trailed off seeking a name to make a sweet smile appear.

"Vera, boss." I raised a lho stick trying to put it out as someone snatched it firmly away leaving me to grin, "Vera...can I sleep now?" She hummed humorously to press both Slith and I closer whispering a warning, "Yes, you can but boss...I do like bites. They're affectionate from those who I raised...so thanks for the compliment." I laughed tiredly not even willing to pretend these friends were going to be too much fun. I'll deal with your grox shit later, Vera...just wake me up if May, or a woman whose going to be pissed shows up.

Despite their walls I wasn't going to pretend yet again to believe the Emperor rewarded faith. They were faithful who had been suffering, tortured and used by heretics in games by those who'd believed I wasn't going to play back. If anything I certainly enjoyed I'd be making my own games, I had plenty of time to figure it out and by the blessing of the Emperor. I was too comfortable to ignore hands gently prying a dagger, or pistol away leaving me to yawn lightly. I had a hunch tonight was going to be a very long, pleasant and enjoyable nap after months of deciding, Emperor help us who I'd feck over for pissing me off.

End Chapter XXVIII

Author's Note: So, whose interested in something incredibly fun? Instead of smashing into fucking cliches over and over again, instead of really confusing people...let's do the funniest, scariest and the most cruel challenge of all time for me to attempt. He's not going to be an Inquisitor in one story, I don't think that's possible considering I'm aiming for a Criminal, Mob, and scum of a con-artist (politician) whose starting from the bottom up. It's all for fun, so it's not like it's not a unique try for a spin.

And for the record, I fucking really, really despise Tzeentch style plots. The lore was utterly insane and to literally think of an easier solution. That was May Willen's entrance to her Inquisitorial Role, it was fucking hard and I mean...it was hard, I'm not kidding. I wanted to avoid a cliché, it's so over done and it by the Power of Christ I mean...it was a challenge to not just circumvent plots of plots, I mean in the beginning dialogue, "If if smells like Tzeentch, it is...thank god that's over!" I'm going on a break for an entire week, or two. Not even willing to imagine this was a challenge, so I hope you enjoyed the ending chapter...it should tell you where it might go, or rather how it goes down.

Have a good day, be safe and leave a review please.
