Grating of stone allowed a column of light to cut through the darkness. From this opening in the stone ceiling, a burlap sack lowered towards the stone floor. The cable unfastened dropping a bundle onto the floor. Rolling, the bundle sat up struggling to remove the sack. Finally getting the sack off, Raven studied her surroundings. Noting the circular perimeter of light around her, she stared up.
Noticing the four black robed figures peering down from an opening at her, "Poor excuse for a joke," she said shaking her fists at them.
Laughter was the answer she got. The robed figures vanished leaving behind seven tall candles.
Rubbing her arms to keep the chill from numbing her body, her ears detected dripping of water. Sitting down with her back pressed against the wall, she sighed.
"Too much red wine," groaned Qrow.
Moving his right hand to rub his eyes caused the rattling of chains to echo around him. It made his headache worse. Opening his eyes revealed that darkness prevented him from studying his environment.
Rubbing of stone against his kneecaps motivated him to stand which proved impossible. It seemed his ankles were shackled. Rubbing chain licks against his chest meant a chain wrapped around his chest. It would explain the tightness around his waist and what interlaced across his legs.
"Guess starving is worse than being bored," thought Qrow.
Waking up, Summer focused on a curved blade swinging above her. Left to right. Right to left. Clunk. It lowered. With each swing, it lowered towards her midsection.
Trying to prevent from being sliced in half, Summer discovered she couldn't move. Lifting her head up, she saw a leather strap across her ankles, waist, and chest secured her to a wooden lid. Her left arm was pinned against her side while her head and right arm were free. Grimacing, she shifted her body allowing her to free her left hand.
Patting herself with her right hand, she discovered her yoyo. Hooking the yoyo loop with her index finger, she tossed the base over the swinging blade when it got to the middle of its swing. Each interval of the pendulum swing, she wrapped the wire like string up and over the pendulum. The blade stopped then dropped towards her stomach.
"And this is why I don't drink," groaned Tai rubbing the back of his head.
"And this is why," groaned Tai rubbing the back of his head, "I don't drink."
Blinking, a little hard without light. Let's see. Entered an utility closet in the men's bathroom. Seems the floor was missing. Slid into this enclosure. Lifting his arms up to his chest, he pressed his palms against a wooden surface. Twisting his waist counterclockwise, no corners. Slid into this circular enclosure.
Lifting his right foot up, Tai pulled a tube from his boot. Pressing a button caused circular blades to popped from the tube. Technically, he wasn't allowed to have his glazier until next year. It seemed necessary right now. Twisting, he got two curved blades.
Seeking a seam with his fingers, he focused his aura on his eyes causing a form of night vision. Someday, Raven will be taught this trick. Right now, Qrow got a leg up on her.
Digging then prying, he leveraged a section enough to slip his fingers under the wooden section. Ripping away the section, he discovered metal under the wood.
"Got be kidding," muttered Tai, "went from a wooden coffin to a metal one."
