Since returning from Vale, Raven couldn't shake the feeling someone was watching her. Shaking her head, her red eyes studied the empty parade field during the second half of their school year where exercises instructed by Professor Richard Billy and Professor Franz Arnold Hanz were held. Closing her eyes, Raven imaged that door she saw during her time in the pit. Opening her eyes, there was door. Gripping the doorknob, it was still locked.
Sighing, her ears caught, "May I ask want you're doing, Miss Branwen?"
Turning her attention to the source of that voice, she stared at Miss Goodwitch. Returning her attention to the door, it was gone.
Crossing her arms, "Shouldn't you be seducing students old enough to your son," remarked Raven glaring at Miss Goodwitch.
"If you're meaning your brother," replied Miss Goodwicth, "he's pursuing me, not the other way around."
Chirping and wind blowing filled the silence between them.
"I was trying to open a door," said Raven.
"Sounds like you were trying to unlock your semblance," standing beside Raven, "Use your focusing wand," noticing the confused look on Raven's face, "Unsheathe your sword."
Doing as she was told, she brought the dull metal blade parallel to her nose.
Holding out Disciplinarian, "Focus on that door."
Focusing, the door reappeared.
"Now open it."
"It's locked."
"How do you normally unlock a door?"
"Use a key."
"You call yourself a bandit."
"Is that post to be bias?"
"Have you ever studied the insides of a lock?"
"If you mean picking a lock, yes."
"You need to use imagery to unlock that door," pulling out her scroll, "Study that image," revealing an diagram of a lock, "every detail."
Placing two Grimm helmets in front of Tai, "Truthfully," said Granville handing a four eye slot Grimm helmet to Tai, "These maybe my best work."
Studying the four eye slotted helmet, "Maybe?" replied Tai, "That's an understatement," studying the open eye slot mask that looked like the face of a Geist, "These are your best work and worth the lien."
"It fits your specs. They'll adjust to their wearer's head size. Motion sensor. Tower hookup. One's almost like an Atlesian combat computer."
Placing the lien on the countertop, "Granville, your skills are still master level."
"I'm a dying breed. Tai."
Placing both masks into a case, "That's why I still do business with you."
Exiting the shop, Tai headed towards the hostel. Needed to pack these up before Qrow and Summer arrive.
Slashing along the top horizontal line then along the right vertical line, her sword went along the bottom red glowing line. Finally the left vertical line.
Nothing happened.
Staring at the empty space Raven's sword was slashing, "Remember the lock diagram," said Glynda.
Closing her eyes, "Cylinder, bolt, box and strike plate," thought Raven.
Opening her eyes, she witnessed a red glow emitting around the door. Slashing the top red glowing horizontal line, she followed with the slashing of the right vertical line. Her sword slashed along the bottom red glowing horizontal line. Finally the left vertical line.
Gripping the doorknob, she turned it. The door barely budged.
"Huh," grunted Raven kicking the door.
"Losing your temper won't help, Miss Branwen," staring over the rims of her glasses, "Now focus on someone or something, you're familiar with. Note the details like a photograph or painting. If someone, you should note every inch of them."
Closing her eyes, the image of Tai entered her mind.
"Huh."
Walking towards the door, Tai opened the door with a smirk on his lips.
"That smirking bastard," said Raven slicing diagonally from top right corner to bottom left corner then top left corner to bottom right corner.
Widening her eyes at the sight of a swirling black portal with a red border appearing before them, "That must've been one powerful image," replied Glynda noticing Raven walking towards the portal, "You do know where this portal leads?"
"Yes, I do."
"Ok."
Stepping through, Raven fell forward. Landing, two grunts followed. Blinking her eyes, she pressed her palms against something soft and firm. Sitting up, she stared at a shirtless smirking Tai with his hands behind his head staring back at her. Studying her situation, she realized she was straddling Tai with only the fabric of her underwear and the towel around his waist preventing skin connected.
"Miss Branwen," causing her to look up at Miss Goodwitch's head peering from Raven's portal, "Hello, Mr. Xiao Long."
"Hello, Miss Goodwitch."
"Anyways, Miss Branwen, remember that old saying about look before you leap."
"Hey, Tai," said Qrow reaching the bathroom door.
Clasping the doorknob, the door swung opened. Pushing Qrow out of the way, she walked past a surprised Qrow.
"Sis, thought you were in Beacon."
"Is Summer in her room?" asked Raven.
"Yes," noticing Tai with a towel around his waist, "Do I need to know what you two doing in the shower together?"
"No, you don't, Qrow," exiting Tai and Qrow's room
Standing in front of a door, her fist pounded against the wooden door which opened.
"Thought you left for Beacon," said Summer.
"Feel like some shopping, Summer?"
"Yeah?"
"Good," staring at Tai and Qrow, "Ok, one of you clowns need to lean me some lien."
"Why?" said Qrow.
Rolling her eyes, "My stuff is still in Beacon and I'm not planning on sleeping in my current wardrobe."
"Raven," replied Tai, "you could go bare breasts and ankles all the way."
"Ha."
Smiling, Tai went his room.
Returning, "Raven," handing her the lien.
Taking the lien, "What, Tai?"
Taking off his towel, "Don't be an ass."
Quickly covering Summer's eyes, "Tai!"
Shrugging his shoulders, he slung his towel over his left shoulder.
"Wanted that image to burn in your mind."
Turning, he returned to his room.
"Why does an ass," thought Raven.
"He's got a cute ass," brought her attention onto the crouching Summer peering under Raven's hand.
9:00 pm
Opening the door, "Mr. Branwen," said Glynda, "It's a school night."
"I wanted to give this to you," he said revealing a banquet of roses.
"I don't like roses."
"Oh."
"Give them to Miss Rose. She'll enjoy them more."
Raven fell onto Qrow.
"Miss Branwen, still having location detection problems?"
Getting up, "Yes," noticing Qrow laying on a banquet of roses, "Really, Qrow? Miss Goodwicth isn't your type," walking away.
"It can be said about you and Tai, sis," chasing after her.
Shaking her head, Glynda closed the door.
Watching this bad comedy, "It seems teacher student hijinks are in the air," thought Rhodopolis taking pictures of this bad high school play.
