Disclaimer: I do not own Kim Possible or the song. I own the OCs, the plot, and the original episodes.

Kim couldn't seem to wrap her head around as to why she was presently feeling this way. Despite the enjoyment she received upon asking out Josh Mankey, Kim wasn't excited. The moths in her stomach kept eating away at her insides, and Kim's throat was dry. All of her nerves were on edge. It felt as if she had just swallowed acid.

"What's wrong, hon?" Mrs. Dr. Possible spoke up, concerned over her daughter's stiff behavior.

"I just can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen tonight," Kim confessed.

"It's probably just your nerves talking, honey," Mrs. Dr. Possible assured. "Once you get a good look at him, I'm sure you'll completely forget about your nerves."

Somehow I doubt that will happen. "Okay," Kim said.

"Good. Now, go get Ron and Andrew and I'll drive you all to the dance," Mrs. Dr. Possible said as she stopped the car in the Stoppable's driveway.

Taking a deep breath, Kim exited the car and approached the door. "You can do this. Just ring the doorbell."

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

As Kim exhaled, she rang the doorbell and tried to make himself look presentable. At first, nobody came to the door. Suddenly, she heard Ron's voice. Almost immediately after, the door opened, and all of Kim's words failed her.

Ron smiled at the sight. No surprise there. At least, Dad would be proud. Closing the door, Ron waved his hands in front of Kim's face. When that didn't elicit a response, Ron sighed and headed into the car. He knew Andrew could snap Kim out of this. "Hey, Mrs. Dr. P."

"That's a unique dress shirt you're wearing."

"Thanks, Mrs. Dr. P. This is the first, well, the second time I've worn it. First in this timeline."

As Ron suspected, Andrew was able to snap Kim out of her trance and they proceeded to talk on the way back to the car. No doubt about Ron's attire.

"… He wouldn't change," Andrew commented.

"You look nice!" Mrs. Dr. Possible commented when she saw Andrew.

"Thank you. Kim seemed to think so as well, as she was speechless."

"I was staring at Ron's whack outfit," Kim sheepishly admitted.

"Sure you were," Andrew teased.

The rest of the ride was spent in silence. Neither noticed the arrival until Mrs. Dr. Possible told them they were there. Ron and a sheepish Andrew followed a sheepish Kim out of the car and out to the school dance.

Their dates were already at the dance, Liz and Josh dressed casually while Tara was in a velvet green dress that reached past her heels. She stared at Ron's suit momentarily before offering him her hand, which he accepted. As there was no ticket, Ron just walked into the gym, giving a nod at Barkin.

Once inside, the two of them found a table and took a seat, Liz removing his jacket and hanging it on the back of his chair. As expected, he and Tara were getting dirty looks, mostly from Bonnie's inner circle of jocks.

Ron excused himself and returned with some punch, setting a glass before his date. "Well, they could've done better on decorations. Still, the music isn't bad."

Tara sat back and watched Ron for a few moments before she asked if he wanted to dance. Ron confessed that he was content to just sit there and talk.

It didn't last long, as Tara managed to drag him out to the dance floor to the song 'A Moment Like This.' Meanwhile, Andrew and Liz headed onto the dance floor as well, both couples dancing for a couple of songs.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Andrew questioned as he noticed Liz wasn't saying anything.

"Just thinking about how great this night is." Glancing over Andrew's shoulder, Liz spotted someone approaching and sighed. "I may have spoken too soon."

"Hey, Liz, Andrew."

Liz closed his eyes a moment, then turned sideways. "Yes, Brit? What do you want?"

Dressed in a simple red strapless dress, Brittany said, "Well, I was hoping I could possibly steal a dance with Andrew."

Andrew looked skeptical and was about to argue, but Liz patted his arm.

"Go ahead. I need to run to the restroom."

"Okay. One dance," Andrew decided.

Liz pulled away as another song started up on the speakers. She turned and headed for the bathroom. It was empty. Surprising, considering the number of people present. Once Liz finished, barely registering someone else come in, she went to the sink to wash her hands.

She didn't register the fist coming at her until it struck her face.

Two songs had passed since Liz left for the bathroom. Even though it was still early, Andrew was worried. While that in itself wasn't unusual, something was tingling in the back of his mind, something that said Liz was in trouble. Deciding it couldn't hurt to have someone check, Andrew excused himself from his dance partner and approached Kim and Josh. Both appeared oblivious to anything but each other. It didn't come as a surprise to Andrew, as he recalled how much Josh and Kim liked each other in the old timeline.

"Josh, can I talk to Kim alone for a minute," Andrew greeted.

Josh glanced wearily at Andrew before stepping to the side and releasing Kim's hand. "I'm going to get some punch," Josh decided.

"Yes?" Kim said, annoyed that she couldn't spend time with Josh.

"Do you mind checking on Liz? I'm a bit worried," Andrew confessed.

"I'm sure Liz is fine. Now leave. Josh is coming back."

Andrew let out a disappointed sigh before he left Kim and headed towards Ron and Tara. Tara was a bit more understanding and said she would check. As she left, Andrew turned to Ron and stared at him, wondering if he should mention Kim's attitude.

"I'm not psychic, so spill," Ron ordered.

"It's Kim. She was kind of dismissive when I asked her to check on Liz. She told me to leave, as Josh was coming back," Andrew informed.

Ron nodded imperceptibly. "Noted. I'll talk to her."

"Ron, Andrew, come quick!" Tara shouted over the music. "Someone get Barkin!"

Ron and Andrew hurried over to the girl's restroom, followed by a couple of students to see what the emergency was.

Both heads of the Possible family stared at each other as they played with his or her peas. It was a rare time that both of them were home and they were struggling to find something to discuss. Before Mr. Dr. Possible could say something to break the silence, the doorbell rang and Jim ran over to open the door. Craning his head, Mr. Dr. Possible spotted his friend Robert Chen. He smiled politely and gestured for him to face forward. He didn't notice Robert's concerned expression, but Mrs. Dr. Possible did as Chen approached the kitchen with his head held down.

"What's wrong, Chen?"

Robert Chen snapped his head up and met Mrs. Dr. Possible's gaze. "It actually has to do with you. I saw you at the grocery store last night. You were with some other guy."

Mrs. Dr. Possible seemed to realize where this was going and turned to her sons. "Boys, go upstairs."

"Aww! But Mom –" Tim bemoaned.

"Now."

The twins groaned but did as instructed. Once they were in their room, Mrs. Dr. Possible turned to her husband and Dr. Chen. "Okay, well, I did indeed meet a guy last night. He was an old college friend from Upperton. His name is Alberto Kinney and he has two kids, one of which is adopted."

"And you don't have feelings for him?"

"No. Why would you –? No!" Anne scoffed. "So I'm guessing you never got a girlfriend in college."

"We relied on Drew back then. And look how he turned out," Mr. Dr. Possible mumbled. A beeping pager had him reaching for his pager, but he saw no one had paged him. Mrs. Dr. Possible stood up with a pager in hand.

"Duty calls. Stay out of trouble." She kissed her husband and exited the house, but not before she called out for Jim and Tim they could come down from their room.

"Dr. D?" Shego asked for the fourth time since they left the Alpine lair. Both of them were relaxing in their Caribbean island lair. Well, Shego was relaxing in a beach chair, doing her nails as per usual. Drakken was pacing back and forth not making a sound. "Dr. D!" she shouted. When she was ignored, Shego lit her plasma.

"Shego," Drakken finally said. "What's the other buffoon's name? Andrew? It doesn't matter. How does he have your Go glow?"

Shego powered down, stood up, and approached Drakken. She turned around and bit her lip in worry, afraid of what might happen if Drakken found out the truth about Andrew. He would be shocked to learn Andrew was her future son, but even more shocked to learn that he was the father. As much as Shego didn't want to admit it, her son deserved to be with Kim and Ron, to experience their side instead of the dangers and chaos that pertained to being a villain. Plus, she didn't want her son to be targeted by the villains if they ever found out Andrew was her son, future or not. "I don't know," Shego lied as she turned to face the friendly mad scientist with who she would eventually have a deep relationship with.

"Shego," Drakken growled. "You're lying. How does he have your Go glow?"

"I don't know," Shego repeated.

"I'm going to ask you one last time. How does he have your Go glow?"

"I don't know."

Drakken growled. He knew Shego was lying, but what need did she have to lie. There were a few reasons why Shego might lie. One, to get out of the situation. Two, to protect someone. Three, privacy. Obviously, the lie mattered to Shego, otherwise, she would tell him. That meant she might be protecting someone. But whom?

"Dr. D?" Shego repeated.

"Zip it, Shego. Take a vacation. Go. Shoo!" Drakken snapped. "I need to be left alone."

Shego stared at Drakken for several minutes before deciding to leave. If Drakken was going to give her a vacation, that was fine with her. So long as he didn't spy on her, which didn't seem likely given how laser focused Drakken appeared to be at the moment. As soon as Shego left to retrieve the hovercar, Drakken went back to pacing and muttering to himself. He was on a mission.

A wave of panic washed over Anne when she saw Kim in the hospital. She didn't appear to be injured or anything, but the sight of her had Mrs. Dr. Possible rushing over to her daughter. "Kim! Are you okay? How's Josh?"

"I'm fine," Josh stated from right beside Kim, earning a sheepish look from the doctor.

"Oh, I see. So who was injured?"

"Beaten is the more accurate term for it," Andrew confessed as he walked over to Mrs. Dr. Possible who saw Ron, Bonnie, Tara, and Marcella there as well. "It's my date, Liz. Her parents should be on the way. I don't know how it happened or who it was, just that it was a female who wasn't on Kim's cheer squad."

"We're here. You must be Andrew," Liz's father said upon making a well-timed entrance. "I'm Eric and this is my wife, Sara. Any news on our daughter?"

Andrew looked over to Mrs. Dr. Possible, who stepped forward to reassure the parents. "I don't know your daughter's status at the moment. I will go find someone who can." Mrs. Dr. Possible left the waiting room and returned about ten minutes later. "She has a lot of swelling and bruises on her chest, but there are no serious injuries. She's fine and resting. You can go in and see her."

Eric nodded and headed into the room, followed by Sara. Kim and her boyfriend, Ron and Tara, and Marcella excused themselves and headed in opposite directions. Kim and Josh to talk and/or make out. Ron and Tara to get some food. Marcella to make a phone call. Bonnie remained seated, considering what to do. She decided to stay out for now and sat next to Andrew. "Are you okay? You're bleeding."

Andrew expunged a weak laugh. "None of this blood is mine. Most of it is Liz's."

"Who...who attacked Liz?"

"My guess is jocks who think less of me because of my powers," Andrew mumbled as he unbuttoned his suit and shrugged it off, leaving him in a black t-shirt. "Liz and I were having a great time, even with that little thing with Brittany."

Bonnie frowned. "Brittany?" She knew of Brittany and her clique and wondered what Brittany had to do with what happened. Could Brittany have been a distraction?

Andrew shook his head. "I'll explain later. The point is, the evening was magical, and then it wasn't."

"Because you were comfortable. You and Liz let your guard down the prom. It could have happened to anyone, even Kim and Josh."

Andrew rested his head on his hands. "I'm grateful Liz wasn't truly hurt. I'd hate to be responsible for her injury. I still feel guilty as it is."

"It's not your fault this time," Bonnie confessed, Andrew perking up at that announcement. "I know I wasn't responsible for this, but I thought the food chain was sacred, that no one would dare touch a cheerleader. I was so wrong." She hung her head in her hands and when Andrew placed a hand on her shoulder, he was shocked to see tears fall from Bonnie's face.

Andrew opened his mouth to dispute that fact but realized Bonnie and he would just go back and forth. Instead, he offered comfort to Bonnie until she felt better and the tears were gone.

Ron and Tara arrived from the cafeteria, a can of Pepsi in hand. Tara walked up to them and extended a soda to Andrew. "Ron wasn't sure what you wanted. I can go grab something for you, Bonnie, if you want," Tara offered.

"I'm fine," Bonnie assured.

"Thanks." Andrew collected the drink, opened it, and sipped some of it.

Eric and Sara finally exited the room. Sara looked understandably upset and ready to deal some revenge against Liz's attackers. Eric patted his wife's shoulder and looked at Andrew. "She's asleep, but if you want to see her..."

Andrew nodded in thanks as he stood slowly and headed for the door.

Liz knew her parents had been in the room, but she hadn't wanted to talk to them. So she feigned sleep. She knew the doctor probably knew she was faking and made a mental note to thank him later.

The attack kept going through her mind, preventing Liz from sleeping. She had fallen to the floor after the first punch was thrown. By the time she reoriented himself, two people had grabbed her. She recognized the assaulters. Two were from the basketball team, and the third was the captain of the swim team. All of them were friends of Amelia's, so Brittany was just the distraction.

She tried to talk them down, but they didn't listen. Liz wasn't sure why she was being attacked, but then the epithets were hurled at her and she figured it out. Liz figured that out, too. It was because she had shown up at the dance with Andrew, who the jocks thought was a freak because of his glow.

Liz rolled onto her side, wincing as a bruise protested to the shifting. Her arms were also sore and bruised. She didn't even want to think about what her stomach and chest looked like. At least, the medications were dulling the pain.

She heard the door open again and sighed internally. Didn't her parents get the memo she didn't want to talk?

"You don't have to pretend. I know you're awake."

Liz's thought about continuing to play possum, but she realized there wasn't really any point. Hesitantly, she rolled onto her back and just stared at her bedspread.

Andrew took a hold of Liz's arm, pausing briefly at the bruise marks. "How are you holding up?"

"Fine. What about you?"

"Fine. Mostly. I still feel guilty that this happened to you," Andrew admitted upon seeing Liz frown.

"It's not your fault. I thought the food chain was sacred, that no one would dare touch a cheerleader. Apparently, that's not the case anymore."

"Bonnie said the same thing. Gosh, this sucks. I guess it's because of me."

Liz shook her head but stopped when the motion made her dizzy. "No, it's because of me. I should have known when Britanny wanted to dance with you, that something was wrong."

"You can't control how other people act. If I knew Britanny's plan, I would have said no to the dance." Andrew rubbed the back of his neck. "Though even that might not have stopped tonight."

"So neither of us are responsible." Liz balled up the sheet in her hand and sniffed, feeling tears gathering.

Andrew was holding her immediately, rubbing Liz's back soothingly. "It's all right. Cry. I'm not going anywhere." He stopped rubbing Liz's back once he realized how that might look. "Do you know who attacked you?"

Liz stiffened and shifted away from her friend. "I don't want to talk about it."

Andrew waited for a few minutes while Liz refused to say anything. "Do you want me to stay?" he asked.

Liz didn't want Andrew to go, to leave her alone the night. But she also couldn't face him yet. "N-no. Not tonight."

Andrew nodded. "Okay. Get some sleep."

Liz nodded again and pulled the sheet up, rolling onto her side again.

In the Caribbean, Dr. Drakken let out a cry of exclamation upon believing he had the answer as to who Andrew was and why Shego was protecting him. He ignored the fifty pieces of crumpled-up paper on the floor as he clutched the lone piece of paper. He had no idea how, but the facts didn't lie. Andrew was Shego's son from the future. And the only person who likely would have married Shego was… oh, [censored].

Several hours after everyone had left, in the early hours of the hospital, a heart monitor beeped and the nurses ran upstairs.

"Code Blue! Code Blue!"

A/N: Ending the chapter with some excitement. Not sure how I feel about the aftermath overall, but it's finished. So Drakken has finally figured out a huge secret. The question is, what will he do now? The next update is obviously in 2022, though when that will be is beyond me. Until next time.
