"Three, three she gave me when I asked for one!"
Legolas smiled as the dwarf patted his breast. His keen eyes had seen the hidden pocket in the leather jerkin that Gimli had carefully entrusted his treasure within.
"You are indeed blessed by the regard that The Lady holds you in."
"Indeed, Laddie, Indeed." Gimli replied. "I knew my charm would win her over in the end, we dwarves are well known for it after all!"
"Aye," the elf replied with a straight face. "Your charm is overwhelming indeed."
"Humph! Well." Gimli muttered throwing a sharp look at his companion who continued to row nonchalantly.
"You are more blessed than you realise."
The whispered words, hidden by the splashing of water against the oars and hull as they sped along, passed Gimli by entirely. His mind was busy working out the design for the locket he would make to hold his keepsake safe for ever.
