She had met them...originally it was fine as just them...but soon he wanted to be more than just them.
(Present)
Kagome stared out the window of her room, the sun creeping up over the edge of the earth where it looked like she might fall off if she kept walking. The golden orange and red rays that burned at the grass and peeked through the trees was gorgeous, and still…she felt sad. "I'm getting nowhere like this." She climbed out of her bed and made her bed before changing and making her way out of her room and downstairs.
"Woman!"
Kagome jumped at the sound of Raditz yelling out to someone. The thought that he was back had caused her to smile. 'Ah...that's right…I fell asleep outside…so one of the guys brought me to my room.'
"Morning Kagome!"
She smiled brightly as she turned to see Gohan and Chichi coming downstairs. "Gohan!" The boy was older looking, and Chichi looked as if she'd been crying from the sight of her baby's sudden growth spurt. "Look at you! So handsome, you've grown…"
He blushed and laughed, "mom wasn't too happy, I have to go get a haircut now."
"Oh?" Kagome laughed, "you look like a Saiyan with that wild mane of yours though."
"Don't say that, my baby..." Chichi started crying again when Goku came down and laughed at the sight.
"Chichi, let him be, it was only two years."
"Goku, don't say that so lightly. Time...is irreplaceable." Kagome chided him as if he were a child. Her eyes however, despite her tone, were light and filled with humor. She was being honest with her feelings on time, but she was growing close to this family, and loved them like her own. She thought about her brother, her mother…and her grandfather, sighing as she did.
"I said go away!"
All four of the occupants in the living room turned at the sudden sound of Bulma yelling. Kagome walked out with the others following behind her.
The group came across the humorous sight of Bulma standing nose to nose with a bewildered and slightly angered Raditz. Her fists clenched tightly at her side with a monkey wrench tightly held in her left. "I don't care who wants to know, if your prince wants to see my progress, then tell him to get his ass over here!"
Kagome sighed, "he can't come here, Bulma…not at the moment." Kagome intervened with the brewing argument as she stepped up to the two and drew Bulma's eyes to her. "I wouldn't be here, if I trusted he'd be able to come to Earth on his own...but he can't...due to circumstances."
"...right...for a moment, I forgot that I was making this ship for you, and not this pain in the ass."
"Why you mouthy wench!"
Kagome turned her eyes to Raditz and was reminded of the similarities between him and Inuyasha not for the first time since she'd met him.
"Raditz, are you busy?"
"Me? Tch...since I'm getting nowhere with this human, no."
"Could you teach me to fly? If it's not too much trouble, that is."
"..." Raditz looked at Kagome and found himself giving into the girls' large baby blue eyes. "Fine..."
"Hey, leave your scouter!"
"…excuse you?!"
Kagome looked back at Bulma as the bluenette seemed to have regained her peppy persona, "why do you need his scouter?"
"Well, think about it. I'm going with you guys; I know you can sense power levels, but I can't. I was going to make another one for myself."
"Oh, that's smart actually." Goku laughed, "though I still think it'd be easier if you just learned to sense power levels."
Bulma turned away with a hand on her hip as she waved Goku off with her other hand holding the wrench. "No, no, no... I'm fine with my inventions, thanks."
Kagome looked thoughtfully at Bulma before nodding to her own thoughts, "make three..."
Bulma frowned as she held her hand out for the scouter that Raditz was taking off. She took it in hand and looked it over, playing with the buttons despite Raditz telling her not to play with it. "Why three?"
"Communication purposes. Make sure that two of them can communicate with one another, one of those will belong to Chichi while we are away. This way…she can speak to Gohan...then, on top of mine being a communication link for Chichi, I want it to be linked to Vegeta's...you...can do that, right?"
"I'll have to see...but I should be able to do that." She seemed to be curious over her own abilities with the scouters Kagome was asking for. "Yeah, I know I can!"
Kagome smiled, "don't push yourself, it's not the priority at the moment."
"Woman! Cease your incessant button pressing! If you don't know what it does, then don't push the button!"
The group looked down at the scouter and out of habit, Kagome moved a little closer to the sound of Vegeta's voice.
Bulma sneered, "excuse me your majesty! Do you know who you're talking to?! If I am to recreate this device, I need to play with it!"
"You needn't worry about scouters for all of you, just create one for the human on earth and then return your attention back to the Ship. I will procure another scouter for Raditz and for my mate. Ask Raditz about the buttons but stop pressing them."
Kagome blushed and looked down at her hands as she fiddled her fingers a bit. It was true he sounded sarcastic when he'd said "mate" but...still, hearing him say it at all. She smiled, "Raditz can sense power levels now...he doesn't really need a scouter anymore, except for communication purposes. Which, once we are all on the same ship, I don't see a reason for us to need them."
"…sensing power levels…without a scouter?"
Raditz frowned, he'd wanted to keep that to himself, but... "yeah, Kakarot taught me. The trip to this mudball has proved to be somewhat beneficial."
"…I see. How long till the ship is ready?"
Bulma smirked at Raditz, "give me a week and a half, I'm almost done." Raditz glared, having gotten into a whole heated argument over the duration left for the Ship not even twenty minutes ago.
"Progress sped up?"
"Well, I am the smartest woman in the Universe."
Kagome laughed at Bulma's personal Ego Boost. It really wasn't a surprise that Bulma had ended up with the Prince of All Saiyan's.
"That has yet to be proven. I will send you coordinates to the meeting spot once you are finished."
Sniffing at his comment, Bulma rolled her eyes and sighed, "yeah, right."
"...mate."
Kagome looked at the device, "yes?"
"Do nothing that will endanger yourself or my offspring from now till our meeting."
Kagome placed her hand on her belly and smiled, "I understand, I will be careful. Please do the same..." A grunt sounded before there was a distinct sound of cutoff of their connection and Kagome sighed.
"What kind of person do you think Vegeta is?" Raditz asked curiously as he took back his scouter from an annoyed Bulma and looked at Kagome.
"Hm?" She looked in thought as she thought back to the few precious memories she had of the prince.
"Dad doesn't say it a lot, but do you know what he told me once?!"
"What did he tell you?"
"...he said," Trunks leaned in to whisper into her ear, "I'm the best thing he ever did."
"...a loving father..." she said with a small and sad smile.
"You know nothing of past grievances...what you are trying to forget is a negligible milestone in my own life's story."
Her eyes became clouded with the thoughts of his life up till this point, "strong, emotionally and mentally hardened...physically he's one of the strongest Saiyan's left...only one other Saiyan rivals him in strength."
A towel around his shoulders, sweat running down each paved path of his chiseled chest. Kagome couldn't stop the blush from emerging on her cheeks and mentally cursed herself as she looked away quickly, this however, did not go unnoticed by Vegeta who smirked at her failed attempt at hiding her attraction to him.
"Please train me?"
"And what would I get from it?"
"What do you want?"
Her head was clouded for a moment as he stepped forward and leaned in so that only she could hear him.
Kagome blushed, "he's a tease...seductive...intentionally so."
"Reverse," she punched with her back fist, "harder," he instructed, "jab!" another punch, slightly harder than the last, "harder! Reverse!" once again, she punched with her back fist, this time, he caught it in his hand and pulled so that her back shoulder was pulled a bit forward, "when you punch with the back fist, push your back shoulder forward, throw your weight into the punch, because if you don't, that reverse isn't going to make contact with the target, and if by some miracle it does, physical damage will be nil. You will hurt yourself more than your opponent if you keep going at it the way you are."
"He's a teacher..." again, her cheeks became flushed at the memories that spurred.
"...I can teach you...let me teach you..." His voice was husky in its whisper in her ear. The feeling left her breathless, and she leaned in to his touch.
"…passionate..."
"I need the other two Dragon Balls!"
Vegeta seemed unsure of what it was she wanted, so he extended his arm out before Goku and stopped him from continuing forward.
"Back off Vegeta,"
"Woman, what is it you plan to wish for?"
"...protective..." tears started to swell at her eyes. At this point, Bulma and Chichi were now standing beside Kagome, each providing their own source of support as she gave into her tears and started crying.
Raditz let go of the button he'd been holding and subtly he pressed another button before placing the scouter down on the table. "Cease your crying, or I won't bother teaching you to fly." He crossed his arms and turned away with an annoyed huff.
Kagome sniffled lightly and heaved a breath, wiping her tears away hastily with the back of her sleeve, she cleared her throat and apologized profusely.
"It's fine," he glanced over his shoulder and nodded, "let's go so that the mechanic can continue her work."
"Mechanic?!"
Raditz lifted Kagome into his arms and flew off with Bulma yelling at him profanities and names he'd never heard before in all his travels across the universe. Kagome meanwhile calmed her heart as she tried to think of anything besides her memories. "I don't know about the man you think you know, but that isn't who he is..." he smirked, "unless...my Prince has been hiding himself this entire time."
Kagome shrugged, she couldn't say anything, and he had nothing to add on the matter anyways. Both remained quiet as he flew off to a clearing to start teaching her how to fly.
