Disclaimers: I do not own Harry Potter or Shadow of War/Mordor
A/N: Honestly, I don't know what to say. I am getting back into my older stories, including my Ranger of Gondor ones, and I felt that this story was due for an update.
But if this story doesn't float your boat, check out my other ones then.
Chapter 2
Jack watched in terrified awe as an shadowy blade began to mysterious yet elegantly glow through the darkness at the top of the stairs that were next to him and suddenly start to slowly float down toward him. He could faintly make out fingers wrap around the grip of the beautiful weapon but that was all he could see. For a moment, all activity ceases as everyone in the room watched this speculate.
But while it was entrancing, it wasn't enough for one Death Eater, who suddenly regains his common sense and fire off a spell.
"Avada Kedavra!", as a sinister green streak of light comes shooting out of his wand toward the center mass where the person holding the sword should have been standing.
But Jack and the others could only watch in disbelief as the spell was merely swatted away like a fly by the sword before dispersing harmlessly on the nearby wall.
"Bloody hell, mate", the voice said, "Did you really think that it was going to be that easy?"
Without warning, something flashes through the air and impales itself into the aforementioned wizard chest, sending him flying back and onto the floor. Jack examines the object and is shock to see that it was a dagger of a design he has never seen before but doesn't have the time to gather more details about it before he heard a low growl emit from the shadows at the bottom of the stairs and all the hairs on the back of his neck stood up as he slowly turns his attention that way. As his eyes adjust to the darkness they began to make out an outline of a woman but she was crouch down and moving on both hands and feet slowly toward him, poise to pounce. Her claws were extended and fangs aligned her mouth as her red eyes glow menacingly in the dark.
"W-Werewolf!", Jack trembles out as he began to crawl backward, "B-b they're supposed to be our bloody allies!"
A sinister smile began to form on the werewolf's face, "Not this one, peasant. Now if you be a good boy and tell me where Greyback is, I might not have to "deal" with your friends here; hell, I might even let them walk away."
"Eyes on the prize, Moonie", the voice on the stairs says, "We got a job to do."
A growl escapes from the werewolf's throat, "Fine, just make sure you don't bang this guy up too bad. Now sit back, relax, and watch the Queen go to work."
And with that, the werewolf launches herself at the Death Eater to Jack's right and the lad watches in horror as the man disappears underneath a fury of claws, fangs, and blood, the attack so savage that the man couldn't even scream as his throat was the first thing to be ripped apart. Numerous Killing Curses shot out simultaneously at her but before any of them could hit, the beast vanishes with the spells impacting on the destroyed remains of the Death Eater.
Unfortunately, due to them focusing solely on the werewolf, the remaining Death Eaters completely forgot about the other assailant in the room. This they were reminded of though once two more of their number on the far left were effortlessly decapitated and their heads roll along the floor toward the center of the room and it was in that moment that all hell broke loose as a bestial roar came from above as the werewolf jump into the midst of the wizard and let loose into them alongside her companion.
All around Jack, Death Eaters were falling prey to sword strikes, claws, and fangs. The young lad watch in fear as the blood of his comrades began to splatter all over him and pools of it began to form all around the room from the corpses that laid scattered about it. He watches as the werewolf charges one of the Death Eater who began firing off spells at a frantic pace in an attempt to save himself only to have the beast easily evade them before taking the front part of his jaw off in a single claw swipe, not even bothering to watch the body drop to the floor as she move onto the next closest Death Eater. A link of chain passes over Jack's head and he witnesses it impale itself into one of his comrades and drag him forward, straight into the sword of the original assailant who chase him here.
Between these two instances and other gruesome displays of death, the entire fight was over in a matter of seconds and only three of the occupants in the room were still breathing though one of them was doing it in short and frantic intervals.
On either side of him, two figures stare down at Jack and the one remaining light source in the room, a single muggle light-bulb, which surprisingly survives the whole ordeal, gave the lad just enough light to make out a couple of features on them.
The taller one of the two had heft his deadly yet beautiful sword on his shoulder while a full-body black cloak with a hood encases his entire body. The same dagger he saw earlier hung on his waist while he could barely see the top of what seems like a bow peak over his shoulder. He appear to have two type of devices on his left, one one the palm of his left hand while another larger device was attach to his wrist.
But the person on the other side of him surprises him. Not because it was a werewolf but because at this very moment it was a normal human. The woman had long dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and was wearing what amounted to clothes that a homeless person who lived in The Tube wore, tattered and ragged.
"So what are you waiting for, Griff?", the girl asks, "Take him to Juarder."
"Bloody hell, Moon, I'm moving! Jeez, hold your-", the man known as Griff began to speak before suddenly turning his attention to the front door at the same instance that the woman known as Moon did the same.
"There's a lot of people coming this way, no doubt the Aurors", she states before taking a few sniffs of the air, "Guess who's leading them?"
"Bloody hell, why is he so persistent? This is the third time", Griff sighs.
"He has always been like that when you stop and think about it", Moon says before looking down at Jack and pulls her arm back, her hand curl up into a fist, "Nighty night."
With that, Jack felt a brief spasm of pain and then his world with dark.
Suddenly, at that same time, Griff pulls out a small trinket that was giving off a dim blue light.
"Crimson Griffon and Moon Queen here", he spoke, and a voice reply from the small object.
"You both are to evacuate now and come directly back to headquarters. We have a Red Flag operation ready to assign to you two that will hopefully end this nuisance once and for all. Griffon is to perform initial contact and warning."
"Wow, don't even say hello when you call. How rude", Moon jests as she picks up Jack and throws him over her shoulder like he was a towel.
Griff lets out a sigh, "Do we really have to do a Red Flag? Just ask the Minister to assign him somewhere to something else."
"That's a no for he has already tried that and yet Goldie keeps coming back. Three times Golden Boy and his crew have interfered with our operations and it starting to become a pain in the arse", the voice replies, "I am well aware of the history that you and Moon Queen have with him and I assure you that this Red Flag will be strictly non-lethal."
"That doesn't make me feel any better", Griff states.
"Well, it's what you're getting. Now Moon Queen get back to headquarters and head straight to my office once you do and I'll brief you two once you get done with initial contact.", the voice orders from the trinket before the light around it faded completely out.
….
"Well now, those Aurors are about to burst in here any second now so I suggest we get moving", Moon says as she heads toward the nearest window and opens it.
Griff says nothing as he merely stares at his partner before the sounds of footsteps and voices from down the hall caught his attention.
"This day just keeps getting better", he tells himself before returning his focus to his partner, "You go on ahead, I'll catch up."
The werewolf lets out a laugh before stepping onto the window ledge, sparing one last glance at the man.
"Try not to take too long", she says as she moves toward the window only to stop as a evil grin appears on her face, "Won Won."
"Piss off!", came the reply and the girl lets out a laugh as she opens the window and leapt upward toward the roof of the nearby building and out of sight.
Griff shakes his head in frustration as he turns around once more to look at the main doors, "It has been years since we broke up but she still feels the need to use that bloody awful nickname."
But the swordsman had no time to dwell on the past before the door to the room burst open and a group of Aurors with their wands at the ready came bursting in, all lead by a certain man in glasses and a lightning bolt shaped scar.
A/N: Officially, Lavender Brown's fate is never confirmed. The movies aren't canon and the book has her as "feebly stirring", so in my opinion, it's a toss-up to whether or not she is dead or alive. But hey, Werewolf Lavender Brown.
